Waching daily Jan 24 2018

Hi there. Welcome to Harry's World of Words and Phrases and English in a

Minute. We've been asked by some viewers and listeners to explain the meaning of

the phrase Break the Ice. It has a literal meaning where you'd literally go

out to the lake of the port and smash up the ice to allow ships in or boats in

and out of a port. And there are ships called ice breakers who travel around

the Arctic and the Antarctic breaking up the ice so that there's a passageway for

ships to travel. But what we're talking about is a metaphorical meaning to break

the ice. And often we use it when we're talking about going to a meeting where

we don't know anybody it was the first time we've met the people. Or we go to

the party where we are maybe a little bit shy so we use the phrase break the

ice. So what do we do? Well, to break the ice means phrases or words or

conversation pieces that you can use to get the conversation going so you don't

feel so shy. For example, you walk into a an office where you have a meeting with

somebody you haven't met before and he comes into the room so you have what we

call Small Talk and often this small talk is a way of breaking the ice.

So conversation small talk pieces would be conversations about the weather. Oh

isn't it terrible today or Isn't it a beautiful day. Or conversations about

your hotel. Is your hotel comfortable? Did you find your way to our office okay? How

did you travel? What was your journey like? What was your plane journey like?

These are all icebreakers ways of breaking the ice. And if you're out of

party with people that you don't know so well and you might be feeling a little

shy. Well, then you can start conversations by just introducing

yourself. Oh hi, I'm Jamie I work in the accounts. So how do you know Toni?

How did you get invited to this party? Did you see the game yesterday? So again

small talk pieces of conversation that will help you break the ice. Okay. So

Roblox WWII - Speaking English #2 - Duration: 14:49.

Alright, what's going on guys, it's Golden, and welcome to a brand new video on Roblox WWII

It's my second video in English so if you didn't watch the first video, check out the link in the description

And.. yeah, we'll play a little Roblox WWII

I think we'll go in FFA because I'll not "really" play tonight

We'll just talk about YouTube stuff

So first, I want to thanks popcorn (administrator), Old Man (head moderator) and orange (the creator) to gave me the role in the Official Roblox WWII discord

And I didn't expect that to happen so early

So really thanks you, it's amazing, like.. I don't know :')

They give me the Content Creator (YouTuber) role, and..

Normally, to have this role, you have to reach, I think, 1.000 subscribers

So they decided to give me because I make a lot of Roblox WWII content, and I upload often I think, and that's the reason why they gave me the role

And I think, everyone like my content, so it's a good thing, so really thanks you <3, thanks you popcorn, thanks you Old Man (etc)

Alright, Barfleur

Ohh, tuuuurned ooon

Oh my god :')

This is just our first game

Anyway, I think, if they drop challenge camos soon, I might do a "Road to Diamond" series

I made a vote in the Genesis Recon server

They all vote- they all voted "Yes" so I guess I'll make a Roblox (WWII) "Road to Diamond" series

Oh my god, okay, nevermind

I think we can win this game

I think we can't use the glide bomb (known bug now in the game)

And I'm happy because I'm not the only one to have this bug, but sometimes I want to use the glide bomb (and somehow, it only explodes in mid-air with no reasons)

Ohhhh, okay. No clip

I think I might begin a "Road to Diamond" series when they'll drop challenge camos, I don't know when they'll drop them but I think it can be interesting, we'll see

We cannnn't cliiiip :c

Ohhh, he stole my kill

Someone will spawn here I think.. Okay, no- oh ?

Alright, we won

*laughs* He must be pissed, oh my god :') *laughs* 29

Okay, that's good

Soooo I made the vote in Genesis Recon-, I'll show you

*reads*

So let me know in the comments if you want a "Road To Diamond" series, but I think it's a good idea

How I got the idea, it's because I often watch Spratt's videos, it's a COD youtuber, I've been following him since one year/one year and a half, I don't know

*reads* k.

Oh, okay, it's one of my french subscribers

Shoutout to O33167CF *laughs*

*sees Killhouse map* Perfect, perfect

So I got the Rococo camo two days ago, and I didn't record because it's actually the fifth time I'm trying to record the English video, but I didn't know what to say so I decided to delete the file (if only you knew how difficult it is for me to speak English damn xD)

It's better like this

So I got the Rococo camo and I think it looks pretty good tbh

I think it might be my favorite camo, I don't know

Oh my god, no one snipes, except my (french) subscriber

Oh really, hitmarker

*sigh*

Oh my god, are you serious..

Okay, we'll try to hi- to clip someone

I knew it

We have to win this FFA

Oh my god

Alright

Oh, how did I miss him

Oh my god ! The turn on..

Should've hit him

Nooo

Oh my god

The turns on in this game

Oh- okay

Oh my god *sigh*

Alright

*reads french message* "But you're violent xD" *laughs*

I think we can drop an atom bomb

So a lot of series should come

I think I'll do something like "Nuclear with all weapons", "Road to Diamond" series when the challenge camos will come out, and if you have other ideas, you can put them in the comments ;)

And yeah, we'll see

Okay, we'll play with the Springfield

Alright, he almost killed me

We can drop an atom bomb

Oh- Oh my-, how did he not kill me ? I think he missed me and he tried to knife me, but it didn't work :D

Okay, oh my-

My shot is niiice

Alright

What are you doing ?

I think someone will come here

Alright, should've not missed me

Okay, we started pretty good

The pre-shot didn't work

Alright

Someone was following me

Here

Oh- no

Oh my god, how did he not kill me ? *laughs*

I'm scared

Alright

Shoul've- oh, oh my god, the no scope

Oh my god, he's chasing me

No, no, don't kill me

I'm scared, I'm so f*cking scared

Oh my god, what am I doing..

Oh my god, NO WAY...

*sigh*

Too bad, too bad, too bad... We could've got it but.. :'(

Oh my- fuck with your- (carbine) *sigh* I hate- (carbine players) Oh my god, he almost spawnkilled me

Alright, clip ? Oh my-

Usually, someone spawns here

We'll finish this, I could've dropped the atom bomb, I'm sorry guys :'(... should've played smart

That's why I hate carbines, and I think it can be more OP than snipers

Because I know a lot of people complain about snipers, because it's always an OS kill with Stopping Power, except if you put Juggernaut, that's why we hate Juggernaut (I'm talking about us, the snipers players) I think

But carbine is a OS kill if you hit in the head. If Luis didn't spam I think I could've dropped the atom bomb, *sigh* but anyway

Too bad, too bad

The role "Content-Creator"

I'm really happy with that, I don't know if they'll- I don't know, promote me or something like, ping everyone in #streams-videos, I don't know

I really don't know. I think they might add something for me but I don't know what and if they always tag everyone for my videos, I think it can be the greatest gift I can have

Alright, I think we can drop the atom bomb here (nah I didn't got it xD), like-

Alright, didn't expect someone to come from this way

GG ! I think someone is in the left..

Yeah, I heard footsteps

Oh my-

Why did he not use his pistol ? He could've killed me easy

Oh my god, the shots

The shots are too beautiful

Oh my god, imagine if I hit that shot

It's rare to see a Guest in this game

Just got turned on

This was the worst grenade ever

Clip ? One more ? Oh my god

I see you :)

Oh my- I'm sorry :')

It's really bad.. oh my-

Oh my god, the reflex

I see nothinnng >.<

I'm traaaaaped >.<

Oh, how did I-

How am I still ali- ohhh

How was I still alive ?

I hope you enjoyed this video, if that's the case, make sure to leave a like, and I don't know what I'll do in the next english video

If something crazy happens, I'll let you know, and I think I'll do an English video for that

And thanks you for the support, thanks you to the subscribers who have recently subscribed to my channel I guess

And yeah !

It's been Golden guys, later ! <3 ;)

(Watch until the end of the video :D, there's more after the outro)

Shoutout to Corrin, Realm, Brady, Flamoo, Zema, Exercitus, popcorn, orange, Tim & all the Genesis Recon clan for the amazing support, and of course, thanks for watching ! <3

Okay so I forgot to mention something

*laughs*

I put a screenshot when I was editing and.. realm *laughs*

made a f*cking sticker *laughs*

For the server and.. yeah

That's why I'm your biggest fan realm o_O

I'll- I'll love it

That's- that's nice. (the f*cking reaction face xD)

Dead Wrong® with Johan Norberg - Equal or Fair? - Duration: 1:31.

Six-year-olds prefer to throw out rewards,

rather than distribute them unequally to

two boys who have cleaned their room.

Even kids know it: Inequality is unnatural.

We humans hate it.

Nope...dead wrong.

We don't hate inequality,

we hate unfairness.

When people are being asked about the

perfect distribution in a society,

they don't want equality.

And that goes for people in most countries,

people on the left and on the right,

young and old.

On average, they say that the best

distribution is something like 4 times

more wealth to those in the top 20 percent

than for those in the bottom 20 percent-

and even 50 times more if you phrase the

question a little bit differently.

Because most people think that work,

effort and risk-taking should be rewarded.

Take a closer look at those six-year-olds

and this explains their preferences as well.

They only want to throw out unequal

rewards when they are being told that

those two boys cleaned their rooms

in a similar way.

But when they're told that one of the boys

worked much harder, they want to reward

him more, and they prefer more to

him than equal pay.

As three researchers recently summarized

the data "Humans naturally favor fair

distributions, not equal ones, and when

fairness and equality clash, people prefer

fair inequality over unfair equality."

Nabemono : Japanese Food, Shabu Shabu - Duration: 4:35.

You should put asside the Nabe that he prepared with some -- skills

today Seba is going to eat Nabe at the restaurant

and maybe this Nabe is better than the one that he tried to do once in one of his road to Materchef videos

Hi, we are going to On

it means hot, no? like the On-sen (japanese spa)

they said that the table is ready in some minutes

cool, we ear Nabe at the restaurant, but mine was better!

So here we are at the Onyasai...it literally means vegetables at the spa

no...hot vegetables^^

and here they cook basically Nabe, it's a pot dish

we are here tonight

we are going to eat Shabu Shabu, it's this meat

at the beginning we decided to take two different pots

we took this two

and we took one of these sets

and here we can take everything what we want

and plus all what we want to drink

we took like all you can eat

once it arrives I will show you what we took!

let's cheers!

some things did arrive

a bit of everything

now this is heating up

and then we will enjoy this meal

we take the meat and we add it!

this is the Shabu Shabu

I do it also if I like more the chicken one...

we need to wait a bit more, it's not that hot right now

well, see how the color changed?

we need to heat it good, because we don't want to eat it raw

this Nabe looks delicious! oh the lens fogged up

let's begin with some vegetables

well it looks good, but also the one that I did wasn't bad!

this is the Goma, for a more tasty flavour

he said that I'm bad at this, so...

you see nothing

more beer came!

this is like my third drink

Ok I think that you understand that you are drunk, since you think that this is a straw

(he is repeating himself)

ok now I'm really drunk

ok these liquors are not for me^:^

other food

now we add more water

ok, now we finished eating the Nabe! I'm still alive

after some drinks

they said we should put the ramen

and if you want it super al-dente, you need ro put it for 1 minute

ready?

it looks like water, but it isn't^^

OMG how nice aspect!

one minute starts from now!

look the Nabe changed color! - ok you can't see it

there is a lot of ramen

so, when you've finished the Nabe, you can just add ramen or rice

and you eat it like this

you can't see anything! it's so good

it's sweet, but super alcoholic! I can't hold the camera

this is the last thing tht arrived

it's a dessert, the warabi mochi

and then this daifu

they're cute!

it's so good!

with ice cream and azuki

you can't imagine how good this daifu is!

with some ice cream inside!

I'm full like a balloon, dinner was amazing!

it costed like 80€,

See you tomorrow with another video always at 2pm (GMT+1)

I hope you enjoyed watching

write in the comments if you preferred the Nabe that I cooked,

or the one that you saw today.

See you tomorrow, I wait for you! CIAO

Timelapse Talk - Jonas Høholt on TV2 - ENG Subs - Duration: 9:15.

Goodmorning and welcome

Now you shall meet a young danish photographer

which is really good

His name is Jonas Høholt and he is so good

to make timelapses that he has made a living out of it

He's made timelapses of Copenhagen, Aarhus and Odense

And his most recent from Copenhagen has recieved more than 4.000 likes on Facebook

And now he visit us to tell how he does this

Goodmorning and welcome Jonas

Thank you

Can you start off by telling us what a timelapse is?

Timelapse build on a lot of still frames

which I of course take with my camera

and these still images have an interval between each shot

10 seconds, 20 or maybe 30

and you put the frames into a video

and due to the interval between the shots

it will give the impression of the sped up motion of time

So, when you are filming a timelapse as we see right here...

how would you approach this with your camera

I will mount my camera on a tripod

So it's completely stable

And then I'll make it take still photos

You could imagine I'd just film a normal video and speed it up

but I don't do that

I make it with still frames cause it gives you several advantages.

Why is that? Which advantages?

It gives you some room to play with exposure times and motion blur

and in the post processing you can correct colors better

So that's a bit on the technical side which make it easier...

You have made a living out of timelapse

How do you do that?

I'd say you do that by standing out from the crowd

cause there is a lot of content out there online today

so you have to make something that the majority doesn't see every day

and stand out that way and have a unique product

and that's the way I have build a name on timelapse photography

..that I make stuff that no one else really does.

How did you get started with timelapse photography?

It started around 5 years ago..

..where I saw a few videos online

from an american photographer that made timelapses

and that struck me and I thought I wanna learn this 100%

and I started researching online

back then there wasn't really much information to find about timelapse

but I found a few forums with some handy tips

And I found out that the camera I had was usable for this

So I could really just go out and try different ideas I had

Here we have some images of your timelapse of Odense

How do your clients use this timelapse footage?

This video was used by a company for a conference

right before it started to warm up the audience

and they do talks around the world

It's a good branding for the city too..

Definately yeah.

How many hours do you use on a project like this?

In this project I had around one week  of shooting in the city

and around 10-12 days of post processing

So its a 3 week project.

How do you choose the locations for your timelapses?

In the Odense video they're chosen in  collaboration with the client

So we have location scouted around the city for a day

But in general I seek to find places with motion

Because timelapse can show the  motion in a unique way

Traffic, people, the changing light

So you have to try and anticipate how the light will be in 1 or 2 hours

When the sun is setting

Is the light best here? Or over here?

And how do I need to frame my shot to get the best light

And if I need to include some architecture...

So there is a lot of preparation before hand

And you need to be thorough?

But what I hear you say is that traffic, crowds, big places are suitable for timelapse?

Yes. And definately also the changing light

A day to night shot for example

The opera building in my Copenhagen timelapse

Which is shot over a 3 hour duration

Where you see the full transition from day to night

In a few seconds...

And that generates a cool effect

Here we are seeing your Copenhagen timelapse

And it's clear that there are a lot of moving shots

Normally, when people make timelapse...

Its always a camera that is static and not moving

and filming for a period and is later sped up in post

How to you add in the movement to your shots?

Mostly is by taking the tripod and a camera..

and I mount the camera on the tripod

And then I'll move the tripod between each shot - manually

That's quite an effort...

Yeah, it takes a lot of concentration and patience.

What if you make a mistake while making you movement?

It will be noticeable, yeah.  But mostly it can be corrected afterwards.

So you can edit your way out of it... ?

yeah, you can.

But you need to be thorough all the time

Your timelapse-video from Copenhagen have recieved more than 4.000 likes

So its like a viral video in Denmark

Had you considered that it would be so popular?

I didn't really expect much in terms of likes and number of views

it's a personal project that I made for myself

So when others think it's cool is overwhelming.

Why does this make you happy?

The cool effects I can generate with the motion and the changing light...

.. And the very creative post processing with transistions

and the effort I made to make the flow play with the colors and light

and the sound effects along with it

to make it go even higher..

So I'll look back at this project even a  year from now and think that it's super cool

It definately beautiful yeah.

It makes you see the city in a new way

I live in Copenhagen, but alot of things I wont notice in everyday life.

It's a fantastic way to re-visit your own city.

Which physical challenges are there in these projects?

There is a lot of preparations to be made prior to shoots

location scouting.. and research

and I've used Instagram and Google Street View alot

and there is a lot of rooftops where I had to gain access.

Yeah, you had to go to the roof of Radisson Royal Hotel CPH

to make a timelapse..

How do you gain access for this?

I had to contact them prior to shoot and sign several documents

talk to different people who manage the roofs

and I had a good portfolio to show, so that helped alot.

And here we have a few other timelapses of the changing light

You have to be outside by your camera  for a long time or what?

If you do a long shoot?

I have done some 4-6 hour timelapses

and you have to find a spot for your  camera to be undisturbed

and then keep an eye on it.

Are people being interested in what you do?

A lot do, but they normally just ask me

So if you see Jonas out there,  just don't mess with his camera gear

Are you inspired by other photographers out there?

Yeah I follow several timelapse photographers worldwide

There are for example some guys  from Belarus who are really good

They do a lot of projects together

So they make timelapse as well?

Yeah from Shanghai, Dubai and Doha.

I've drawn alot of inspiration from those guys

And I have made timelapse that look like theirs...

and then I've worked on developing  my own style afterwards

To get your own touch...

Now you've made some of the big danish cities

Do you have like a future project you plan to do?

I've thought about making a timelapse project of the danish western coastlines

there are some stunning places out there

And of course Greenland or  Canada could be crazy to timelapse

So that's nature timelapses?

Yeah, exactly

I made a timelapse film from Jutland, Denmark  a year ago

That are loved by a lot of people

and I'd like to work on this style a bit more

That sound very exciting and interesting

And your work are stunning

Thank you for coming and good  luck with your career

Black Neon District - "Standing Waves" Studio Report - Duration: 14:13.

- It feels good and nice to hear

- Ok then, so we gonna cut from the modulation

I'll be more comfy to start the...

- I'm gonna do that

I'm gonna play it

In order to take advantage of the...

- The end of the reverb ? the delay's notes ? Ok

- There are good things

- Yep

It's gonna be a beautiful part

- Uh yep, do it clean

- Like the last one ?

- Like the last one

- Do the same take

- Not exactly the same, juste slighty different to sounds good

- The same but better

- Are you ready ?

- Uh maybe

- It's distortion + delay ? Or just disto...

- no no, we gonna stop to drop it

I'll do all that part...

I'll stop here

And then...

We'll do it in two seperate parts and it's gonna be real quick

- Can you check your tune, I have a doubt

- It's really... i'm in 12.56 though

- I got it, you're doing shit

- Mmm, yes i'm doing shit

- It's awful

- It's great when he's playing right, isn't it ?

- It's better

- Let's go ?

- Yep

- Damn, I did the bend wrong

- Yep, we gonna start again the end, but the beginning was good

- Yep

- I was maybe average on the...

...I had the feeling to speed a little bit

- I think it was great !

- Let's go ?

- Yep

- Crap

- What are you talking about sir ?

- I've made a mistake

I did the Satan note again

- It was quite good

- I dunno, i did not felt it good

Yep, let's go

No, this one is too tight

- Not so good

- Almost... we try a last one for the fun ?

- Average

- To me, it's the only place...

... for the second verse, i don't know if I have to do a lower harmony or not, to bring some depth

- We need some harmony

- In the other hand, for the chorus...

- We have to try

- One on two actually

- Higher harmonies gonna be awful...

...and the lower ones will be too much

- We do it again ?

- I just sing again the "to fight and defeat", and we'll keep the"gnawing crown"

- Yes... so you do it again ?

- With balls

- That's quite good

- Again

- A little bit dynamic yes...

- You can do it a little more vigorous...

- Do you want more ?

... it was "limp sex" actually

- Ok

- But there was "sex" in it

- Yes but limp

- Ok, can we now do it tight ?

- Too bad, until now it was nice...

- Wait a second, listen to it carefully guys

- It's not tight ?

- None of them is tight, so...

- Awesome

- We gonna start again the last one

- Yep, it's right on the time...

... it's "pa, pa pa"

You have to properly attack the second syllable

- That's good

- But ?

- There's no "but" !

- I already hear the "but"

- There is no "but" ! That's good !

- I want that now

- That's magnificient

- You are beautiful sir

- It was a good one, isn't it ?

- It was a good one...

- I'm gonna have a cramp at the hand by holding this shit...

- When they'll receive the rush they'll have to deal with that, take this shaking bastard !

- Clément will edit the video !

- We don't give a shit

- Take that !

- Nice, Nice... i see the animosity is carried on in this band

- We do it again ?

- Yep a last one

- Great

FASHION FRIENDS 8 - Rikki Part 2: Work Experience - Duration: 5:37.

Hi, I'm Emily Keller and this is my friend Rikki. She's the founder of Ikki

'Small But Brave' which is a baby clothes line based here in Shanghai. And then

after you graduated so you started working like for companies. Yeah so then

I had this thing in my head that I wanted to live in Italy and so I

basically yeah I remember actually took the train down to Biella and then I was

wearing this wool little suit with my mom's boots that my father had given to

her when she was young. These long suede boots and I walked up the Valle Mosso

Valley, which is the valley near Biella, which is the textile town in Italy.

Other than Prato. Prato is near Florence and then there's Biella, which is between Milano

and Torino which is famous for all the wool processing. Yeah so I took the train

there and then I walked up this little valley which was just one factory next

to the other so like all those Luigi Botto, Loro Piana. Yeah I've been there.

So I walked and I handed my CV to all the factories and yeah I just really wanted to prove that

I could do it you know by myself because I come from a wool family you

know so and my dad was very involved in the textile industry as was my

grandfather but my first job I really wanted to get by myself so I went off

there and walked up and down there I mean if I think now what I did it's just

I just laugh, because then later I actually moved there and I saw that no

one actually walks there, ever. But somehow I loved that but you know when you're so young

you're just so ignorant in a way and ignorance is bliss. And then one of the

mills actually called me for interview which was Luigi Botto and the

owner of the company actually had the interview with me which was really funny

because I you know there was nothing really could ask me because I had no

experience you know it was like it was really employing me on goodwill you know

him maybe liking me and then just giving me the opportunity but once I was

employed his daughter actually told me that the thing that made him employ me

was that I at the end of the interview I mean even this you know it's just crazy

I said him yes so this is my first proper interview ever and at the end of

the interview he said to me, "Okay is there anything you'd like to say?" and then I

said, "I'd just like to know within two weeks if you'd like to have me or not

because I need to get on with my life you know." As if I was already this

really professional and well-known and then he just they laughed and then I

I think I even said are they laughing at me because I couldn't speak Italian at

that time I could speak yeah yeah could speak a little bit of Italian. I think I

did the interview in Italian. and then I said are are they laughing at me and

then the owner said no we laughing with you you know and so it was it was a very

interesting interview and then and the end and they employed me. I don't know why. There I was. How long were you there for?

I was there for four years and then I moved to another company and still in

Italy. It was a wool trading company and I was there for two years and then I

moved to China. Do you want to talk about the company you worked for here? Yeah so that

was a Canadian startup and I was one of the first five employees there and it

was a great experience because it was getting into the whole startup

culture and very exciting and we grew very quickly and they basically hired me

on the spot because they needed someone who knew about fabric and I loved their

vision the two founders were very two young guys and yeah and so then I

started working with them and working with the factories and buying

fabric and doing all the sourcing for everything that went into them. We were

doing men's suiting online and the company is still running and I was there

for four years and it was amazing experience yeah really that's where I

really learned a lot and I have felt like I made a big contribution because I

yeah when you're in a start-up you're just doing everything you know there

were so few of us and we were very connected with what the vision was

of the founder and yeah it was just a very exciting time. I remember at the

beginning I really loved loved working there and going to work every day

because you really felt like what you did made that contribution and I was

making you know, you just had to decide things and go for it you know

because when you're in a start-up you you have to take risks and and so we did

and it turned out well so that's good. So what do you do now? So now and so then

after four years at the Canadian startup I decided to leave and start my own

company which I actually always knew I would do since I was nine years old I

used to play when I was young with my sister and I was always the owner of Kin

Done. Kin Done is like an Australian brand and they did all these like

beautiful bright colored textiles. It used to be really nice toy accessories

like little bags, toiletry bags and I would always sit and I'd be the CEO of Kin Done.

so then I yeah and then over the years you know I saw that there was

a niche for mums because I had a lot of friends who were having kids and they

couldn't find good certified product here and so I sort of put two and two

together because I knew wool is really beneficial for babies. And I wasn't finding really beautiful soft product.

Jim Rohn - Stop Waiting For Motivation (Jim Rohn Motivation) - Duration: 19:09.

Jim Rohn: now shut this down also give yourself a chance to change some things I held on

to that I thought this was it this was it I'm telling you after a while I gave

it up found out it wasn't it so give yourself a chance to change refine your

philosophy refine your direction if you'll give yourself a chance to do that

here's what will happen down the road aways a new door will open that you

haven't discovered before give yourself a chance to change

reevaluate

okay so let your library be a testimonial of your dedicated interest

in accelerated personal development that you will read whatever you have to read

you will hear whatever you must hear and you will watch and see whatever you must

see in order to make your life refined and worthwhile and achieve all of your

purposes that's what I want this stopping station to be these three days

just to come here and sit for a while and listen and ponder and take notes and

work hard and see if you can't absorb get all that you possibly can here so

that it will start to refine your life even before you get on an airplane and

fly back to wherever you came from before you get in your car and drive

away what we share with you here with whatever all the rest that you've

learned this will be a catalyst to start a process even before you get home that

will start working for you some of you are gonna set some goals

we're gonna do the workshop tomorrow designing the next 10 years hopefully

you'll come up with some new promises some new objectives some new ideas and

by the time we're finished here are these two three days I'm telling you

you'll see yourself able to accomplish two times three times five times more

than you ever thought was possible which will make this cost of the seminar small

price to pay and hopefully it'll make the time you spent here small price to

pay compared to making this an investment in your future in what will

flow in in terms of money and income and return and reward and respect and

dignity and accolades trophies all the stuff that can be yours a marriage that

lasts forever a friendship that nourishes you forever things that you'll

find that you'll keep and treasure for a lifetime hopefully this is one of those

weekends it takes a lot of effort to learn it takes a lot of effort to grow

it takes a lot of effort to decide and debate but jot this down it's all worth

the price whatever stimulates you to think

whatever stimulates you to wonder whatever stimulates you to react or even

to debate even if you hear something you say well that's not right see that's

still valuable it means you're awake it means you're alert it means you're alive

it means your mind is ready to take on something whether it's agreeable or not

agreeable something right something wrong who cares what it is we've got to

listen to a variety of voices and some are going to come from the left and some

are going to come from the right and some are gonna come from mysterious

sources and some will try to entice you with all kinds of stuff but that's okay

just so you're alive and alert and awake ready to process anything that comes

your way take the best of it and make it beneficial for you so that tomorrow you

walk with a stronger step next month you see a clearer vision and a month from

now the purpose for your life is x two three five that's what I want to create

here so now to hurry and get through because we have so many subjects to

cover let's cover now some other things under personal development here's one

that's important as you read and as you listen and as you study and as you grow

and as you take notes and as you fill up your journal and then try to work on the

ideas to make yourself valuable in the marketplace here's something to remember

under personal development some things I had to learn first steps to success

first of all you need good ideas just decide right now you're going to

accelerate your plan for collecting good ideas ideas for your life ideas for your

health ideas for your marriage your relationships ideas that stimulate one

idea sometimes lead to that leads to the next needs to the next and the four or

five ideas in the future that really thrust acceleration into your life you

couldn't have gotten unless you went through the first one in the second one

and the third one next you need good plan so we're gonna talk about time

management game plans tomorrow need a good health plan

traveling around the world you can imagine the kind of health plan I have

to have if I didn't have a super EXTREME gotta underline the word extreme if I

didn't have a superb extreme health plan you think I could travel all over the

world people look at my calendar and say impossible I'm the only one that can do

it everyone else is too young incredible but I've got to be extremely healthy

I can't let up at all in terms of diet and nutrition exercise all that stuff in

order to stay healthy so a good health plan a good family plan here's a good

one a good marriage plan some people just go along married but their fingers

crossed you got to have a better plan than that

some are whistling in the dark hoping everything will work out no not a good

plan you need a good plan for how to use the day we'll talk about that tomorrow

best-kept secret of the rich how to use your time a good plan to meet the right

people over the right amount of time to stimulate your life you need a game plan

for lifestyle we'll talk about that later

so to succeed we need good ideas and good plans here's the next we have to

learn to handle the passing of time

because all of this takes time to learn to grow to change getting through the

seasons takes time the spring has a certain amount of time the summer has

time harvest has time the winter has time learning to handle the passing of

time chop this down if you're involved in business you got to give your project

time you've got to give your people time give people a chance to learn chance to

grow chance to change one of the great requirements especially in such an

industrialized busy mad dashing society and that is to have people patience

first we exercise it with our children and our family

getting people to work together gotta have patience even with your family if

you're involved with independent people it's a challenge it's like herding cats

trying to get them to work together herding sheep is easy they very quickly

get going the same direction but try herding cats it's like you're children

different ages and different personalities and different opinions to

get the family all going the same direction kind of working together to

make things work I'm telling you it is a challenge but if you'll have some

patience you can do it now here's the big one to have patience with yourself

give yourself time to learn give yourself time to understand good ideas

give yourself time to make changes and then grow into those changes give

yourself time to refine your personality to fit the business whatever business

you're engaged in and some you may have to speak up a little stronger and some

you may have to calm down just a little bit more just learn to refine your

personality and your temperament to suit all of us can do that but it takes it

takes time have patience with yourself we had to do that from the beginning

learning to tie the shoe strings of your shoes if you tried a couple of times and

says I'll never learn this it's over sitting no you can't go through life

with your shoes untied come on some people maybe it happens for

them a little quicker than others some people get the hang of it almost

overnight someone else it takes a little longer if it takes you a little longer

have patience with yourself because patience has its own reward

patience is a virtue of the extraordinary kind we have to have

patience with our employers we have to have patience with government officials

you've got to have patience with IRS you got to have patience with the army

you got to have patience with the FBI

here's a good thing to remember while you're exercising patience usually

enough good people will finally make it right you just gotta jump that down

usually enough good people will finally make it right not everyone in the

community is going to toe the line and do the moral thing but let me tell you

what most will that's how we create a society that we can live in most will

every teenager will not obey all the rules and regulations and live a model

life not everyone will but jot this down most will enough will when the good Lord

recruited 12 not every disciple not every one of the twelve but it was

enough of the twelve to start a movement that's lasted for 2,000 years

not everyone but enough there's only been a couple of exceptions to that rule

one was the story of Sodom and Gomorrah God was going to destroy Sodom and

Gomorrah for their evil ways Abraham had a friend that lived there and Abraham

implored and said God if I can go to Sodom and Gomorrah and find 50 righteous

people will you spare the city and God said Abraham you've been such an

excellent friend of mine yes I'll spare the city if you can find 50 so he

searches the city can't find 50 good people comes back and says Lord would

you take 40 God says Abraham for you come on I'll do it if you can find 40 so

he searches for 40 can't find 40 and he comes back and says would you take 30

good Lord says Abraham only for you well I reduce it to 30 can't find 30

can't find 20 Abraham said this is my last request would you take

God said only for you Abraham so he went searching for ten and

you know the start couldn't find him that's the exception to the rule so he

said Abraham get your friend lot and his family out of there because the end has

gone but that's the exception to the rule so jot down the general rule most

will in a civilized society most will obey the rules in government most will

not every senator will but what enough will to build a stable government in a

future not everyone in the armed forces will but enough will not everyone in the

community will but enough will not every teenager in this high school will but

I'm telling you the most will and that's how we survive in a civilized society

because most will and that's a good feeling to know most will okay so have

patience next under personal development is learning to solve problems

by the way having patience with the seasons takes time to develop the crop

you can't plant the seed dig around it in a few days saying where is it where

is it and you can't really help all you can do as a nourish some people plant in

the spring leave in the summer just

haven't got the patience to last so next comes solving problems business problems

family problems personal problems financial problems emotional problems

there's all kinds here's a good idea I found in solving problems every once in

a while you've got to I can just describe it for you take a piece of

paper put a line down the center of the paper and on the left side describe the

problem so just jot that down a piece of paper in half on the left side describe

the problem sometimes it's a good idea to take a problem out of your head and

put it on paper we'll talk a little bit more tomorrow about how to think on

paper this is one of the ways to think on paper our mind usually is too busy

sometimes to sort things out so if you take it out of your mind put it on paper

what is the problem and you just describe to the best of your ability

what the problem is and then ask this question is that all of it

because if you're going to prescribe something for the problem you need to

know what all of it is when you've got it all listed on the other side now of

the paper is called answers and solutions the problem on one side

answers and solutions on the other side and now let me give you three questions

three questions that can help solve most any problem here are those questions

number one what could I do so just jot that down what could I do

then you start developing what we call working papers and the working papers

consists of making a list of the things you could do to solve this problem

number one and you say well number one would take too long I can see that right

now let's go to number two maybe that's the answer number three no that isn't it

and let's say you've got several points now and you've done your best to try to

solve the problem yourself and you can't solve it yourself here's the second

question what could I read maybe somebody's spent

a lifetime researching the problem you've gotten they've got some excellent

answers from a lifetime of research

maybe in your own journal you've taken notes before on something you say hey I

remember a class I took seems like there were some answers there so you go back

do a little research so under number two is research and if you search what you

will find if you research you will find search and research now research as soon

as possible because of the problem is severe you don't want to wait till too

late my friend Kenny comes to me and says you just lost a beautiful lady

fabulous lady they got a divorce she was really something then after his divorce

he comes to me and says you know it's over but he says you know something

strange he said I found a book in my own library that I think would have saved my

marriage if I had read it before my divorce and

it was a book entitled how to live with another person he said I should have

read that book a long time ago he finally read it but it was late

it's like reading a book on nutrition after you've had a heart attack right to

me that's good that is good but gosh it's so much better to read it before

spare yourself the agony in the lost time

and maybe the loss of your life now if you if you tried to solve it yourself

and you can't solve it and you've researched and it doesn't seem like

you've got the answer here's number three the third question is who could I

ask is there someone around me that might have the answer to my problem now

under that put here put this don't ask first now try to solve it yourself

develop some working papers what you think you might do that still isn't it

here's some books I've read this guy's crazy this guy no answers haven't got it

now I ask but if you now can show your working papers to who you ask

you can't believe how swift the answer will come all of us have heard this but

let's remind ourselves one more time and put it in your notes we all love to help

people who first of all try to help themselves back to the philosophy of

deserve I've tried to work it out haven't got the answer maybe you can

help me somebody is very willing to help you if they know you've tried first to

help yourself it works that way with our children right my daughter Linda before

she got married used to travel a lot she comes to me and say daddy I'm headed for

Thailand I said wonderful she said I've saved up my money I said fantastic she

said I've got a thousand dollars I said wonderful she said the kids wanted to go

here want to go there I didn't go they want to buy this one to buy that I

didn't buy I got my money put aside thousand dollars I said Linda

unbelievable you must be my daughter that's fantastic

now she said to make the trip I only need a couple of thousand more an easy

two thousand right but she knew she couldn't get the whole three but she

knew that if she worked hard to the best of her ability and put that first

thousand together the next two was the right okay so develop your working

papers do your best to solve problems here's why you try to solve it on your

own first you need the mental and emotional muscle you need the discipline

if you just quickly go to the answer some of this got it now you're not

developing the muscle you're not developing the discipline to solve your

own problems because there may come a day when there's no one else to ask so

you need the rhythm of learning the rhythm of trying the rhythm of seeing if

you can do it first to build the emotional mental muscle

Why Is It Hard to Finish What You Start? - Part 1 - Enjoying Everyday Life - Duration: 28:34.

ANNOUNCER: THIS PROGRAM HAS BEEN MADE POSSIBLE BY

THE FRIENDS AND PARTNERS OF JOYCE MEYER MINISTRIES.

JOYCE: ANYTIME YOU WANT TO DO GOOD, YOU MIGHT AS WELL JUST

FIGURE THAT OPPOSITION IS GONNA COME.

JUST BECAUSE WE DECIDE TO DO SOMETHING GOOD, THAT DOESN'T

MEAN THE ENEMY'S GONNA ROLL OUT A RED CARPET AND SAY,

"OH GOODY, LET ME HELP YOU."

[MUSIC]

JOYCE: I'M CALLING THIS MESSAGE, WHY IS IT SO HARD

TO FINISH WHAT WE START?

WELL, WELL, WELL, I WANTED TO CALL IT WHEN YOU TRY TO DO GOOD,

EVIL ALWAYS COMES, BUT I THOUGHT I'D PUT THIS TITLE ON IT JUST

SO IT MADE A LITTLE MORE SENSE LATER WHEN PEOPLE ARE JUST

TRYING TO PICK SOMETHING AND THEY PICK IT ACCORDING

TO THE TITLE.

I WANT TO START BY TELLING YOU SOMETHING THAT HAPPENED TO ME

AND I SHOULD KNOW BETTER AFTER ALL THE YEARS THAT I'VE BEEN IN

MINISTRY AND ALL THE TEACHING I'VE DONE, BUT THIS WILL JUST

PROVE HOW WE CAN BE DECEIVED BY THE ENEMY AND HOPEFULLY GIVE US

A GOOD LESSON.

SO, ON NOVEMBER THE 22, 2016, WHICH HAS BEEN ALMOST A YEAR

AGO, NOT QUITE YET, I WROTE DOWN IN MY JOURNAL THAT I KEEP PRETTY

MUCH EVERY DAY AND I ACTUALLY HAVE WHAT I WROTE IN THE BACK

OF THESE NOTES.

I'M NOT GONNA READ IT ALL BECAUSE IT GETS KIND OF LENGTHY,

BUT I WROTE THAT I WAS MAKING A COMMITMENT, EVERYBODY SAY,

"COMMITMENT."

TO BE MORE GENEROUS THAN EVER BEFORE IN MY LIFE.

AND ACTUALLY, I REALLY DO ENJOY GIVING, IT'S ONE OF THE THINGS

THAT I ENJOY.

I REALLY ENJOY MAKING PEOPLE HAPPY.

I ENJOY--I ENJOY MAYBE KNOWING SOMETHING THAT SOMEBODY WANTS

AND THEN SURPRISING THEM WITH IT.

I'VE KIND OF BEEN LIKE THAT SINCE I WAS A KID AND SO I JUST

BELIEVE IT'S ONE OF THE GIFTS THAT GOD HAS GIVEN ME.

AND SO, I JUST DECIDED, I WANT TO BE MORE GENEROUS THIS YEAR

THAN I'VE EVER BEEN BEFORE IN MY LIFE.

AND I GOT OFF TO A GOOD START.

I'VE EVEN WROTE BACK HERE A LOT OF--I MEAN I WROTE DOWN ALL

KINDS OF SCRIPTURES ABOUT GIVING AND ALL KINDS OF THOUGHTS.

MATTER OF FACT, I'LL JUST RIGHT HERE, THIS WAS MY COMMITMENT.

"I AM REAFFIRMING MY COMMITMENT TO GOD TO BE GENEROUS

AND TO HELP AS MANY PEOPLE AS I POSSIBLY CAN.

THE WORLD IS FILLED WITH HURTING AND NEEDY PEOPLE AND NOTHING IS

BETTER OR MORE POWERFUL THAN HELPING THEM.

I'M EXCITED TO ABOUND AND EXCEL IN GIVING AND TO WATCH GOD WORK

IN MY OWN HEART AND LIFE AS I GO FORWARD."

AND THEN I WROTE ALL KINDS OF THINGS ABOUT WHEN YOU'RE SELFISH

OR UNHAPPY AND THE BEST WAY TO FIGHT GREED IS WITH GENEROSITY

AND SATAN HATES GENEROSITY.

AND I'VE GOT SCRIPTURES TO BE GENEROUS IS TO BE MORE LIKE GOD.

SO, YOU KNOW LIKE MOST THINGS, YOU MAKE A COMMITMENT

FOR A LITTLE BIT.

IT'S ON YOUR MIND, AND YOU'RE PRESSING FORWARD,

AND EVERYTHING'S GOING GOOD, AND YOU'RE EXCITED.

AND THEN, YOU KNOW, WE TEND TO GET BUSY WITH SOMETHING ELSE

AND WE KIND OF FORGET ABOUT IT.

YOU KNOW WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT, DON'T YOU?

IT'S LIKE, WELL, I'LL GIVE YOU ENOUGH EXAMPLES IF YOU DON'T

KNOW NOW, YOU WILL.

AND SO, THEN I WENT INTO THIS PERIOD OF SEVERAL MONTHS WHERE I

JUST FELT MORE GREEDY THAN I HAD FELT IN--I MEAN, I WAS WORRYING

ABOUT MONEY.

I WAS THINKING ABOUT RETIREMENT AND, WHAT ARE WE GONNA DO THEN?

AND WHAT'S GONNA HAPPEN IF I GET TO THE POINT WHERE I CAN'T DO

THIS ANYMORE?

AND JUST PRICES ARE HIGH AND ON AND ON AND ON AND ON.

AND I MEAN, IT WAS EVEN LIKE AGGRAVATING ME WHEN I FELT LIKE

I NEEDED TO DO SOMETHING.

AND I'M THINKING, WHAT IS WRONG WITH ME?

THIS IS NOT ME.

THIS IS NOT WHAT I'M LIKE AT ALL.

AND SO, I WOULD KIND OF BEAT IT DOWN FOR A WHILE AND GET IT OUT

OF MY BRAIN, AND THEN PRETTY SOON I'D FIND MYSELF AGAIN, YOU

KNOW, JUST BEING CONCERNED ABOUT MONEY, WHICH IT WAS STUPID.

I'M NOT--THAT'S JUST NOT WHAT I NORMALLY DO.

AND SO THEN ON AUGUST, THE 1ST OF AUGUST THIS YEAR, GOD

REMINDED ME OF MY COMMITMENT TO GENEROSITY, AND HE SHOWED ME SO

CLEARLY THAT THE WHOLE THING HAD JUST BEEN AN ATTACK FROM SATAN

TO KEEP ME TO GET ME OFF MY COMMITMENT AND GET MY MIND

ON SOMETHING ELSE.

AND SO, AS USUAL WITH ME, GOD GAVE ME A GREAT MESSAGE THAT NOT

ONLY HELPED ME, BUT NOW I CAN PREACH TO YOU.

AND HE TOOK ME TO ROMANS 7:21 WHERE PAUL SAID--WELL, HE STARTS

OUT IN ROMANS 7:15 AND HE SAID, "I DON'T UNDERSTAND MYSELF,

THE THING I WANT TO DO, I DON'T DO.

THE THING I DON'T WANT TO DO, THAT'S WHAT I ALWAYS END UP

DOING.

WHAT IS MY PROBLEM?

WHAT'S WRONG WITH ME?

WHY WOULD ANYBODY DO WHAT THEY DON'T WANT TO DO?"

YOU KNOW, IF YOU'RE FAMILIAR WITH THOSE SCRIPTURES,

YOU'RE LIKE, "MAN, I CAN RELATE.

I GET IT," YOU KNOW?

YOU LAY IN BED IN THE MORNING AND MAKE YOUR PLANS FOR HOLINESS

THAT DAY, AND IT WORKS UNTIL YOU PUT YOUR FEET ON THE FLOOR

AND THEN IT'S OVER.

AND IT CAN BE REALLY FRUSTRATING WHEN YOU REALLY WANT TO DO GOOD

AND SOMEHOW OR ANOTHER, YOU JUST DON'T GET AROUND TO IT OR IF YOU

DO, YOU--IT'S ONLY FOR A SHORT PERIOD OF TIME.

AND SO, LISTEN TO WHAT PAUL SAID, ROMANS 7:21, "SO I FIND IT

TO BE A LAW, A (RULE OF ACTION OF MY BEING) THAT WHEN I WANT TO

DO WHAT IS RIGHT AND GOOD, EVIL IS EVER PRESENT WITH ME AND I AM

SUBJECT TO ITS INSISTENT DEMANDS."

SO, IN OTHER WORDS, ANYTIME YOU WANT TO DO GOOD, YOU MIGHT AS

WELL JUST FIGURE THAT OPPOSITION IS GONNA COME.

JUST BECAUSE WE DECIDE TO DO SOMETHING GOOD, THAT DOESN'T

MEAN THE ENEMY'S GONNA ROLL OUT A RED CARPET AND SAY,

"OH GOODY, LET ME HELP YOU."

IS ANYBODY RELATING TO THIS ALREADY?

OKAY, I'LL JUST MAKE A POINT.

HOW MANY PIECES OF EXERCISE EQUIPMENT DO YOU OWN?

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: THAT YOU USED 2 WEEKS AND NOW IT'S SITTING IN

YOUR HOUSE?

HOW MANY OF YOU HAVE A GYM MEMBERSHIP BUT YOU NEVER GO

TO THE GYM?

DO YOU KNOW WHAT THEY SAY?

I KNOW A MAN THAT OWNS A GYM AND HE SAID 60% OF THE PEOPLE WHO

PAY MONTHLY NEVER SHOW UP, 60%.

WHY?

SOMETHING ALWAYS GETS IN THE WAY.

ANYTIME YOU WANT TO DO GOOD, I'M GONNA PUT IT LIKE THIS, ANYTIME

YOU'RE DOING ANYTHING THAT'S GONNA HELP YOU MAKE PROGRESS,

THE DEVIL DESPISES PROGRESS, WHETHER IT'S IN BIBLE STUDY,

SOMETHING TO MAKE YOUR MARRIAGE BETTER, ANYTHING TO HELP MAKE

YOU A BETTER PERSON, WHETHER IT'S A DECISION TO GIVE MORE.

IF YOU MAKE A DECISION TO TITHE, YOU MIGHT AS WELL FIGURE

ON EXTRA EXPENSES.

YOU SAY, "WELL, THEN WHY WOULD I DO IT?"

BECAUSE IF YOU CAN BE CONSISTENT AND GET THROUGH THAT LITTLE

PERIOD OF TIME, THEN YOU'LL BREAK INTO A WHOLE 'NOTHER LEVEL

OF NOT ONLY YOU BEING A BLESSING TO OTHER PEOPLE, BUT BEING

BLESSED IN RETURN.

BUT LET ME TELL YOU SOMETHING, WHEN WE MAKE A COMMITMENT, IT'S

JUST LIKE THE DEVIL IS SAYING, "WELL, LET'S JUST SEE IF YOU

REALLY MEAN IT."

HOW ABOUT A DIET?

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: WONDER HOW MANY DIETS, JUST IN THIS ROOM, PEOPLE HAVE

STARTED AND THEY LAST UNTIL YOU GET HUNGRY.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: YOU KNOW HOW EASY IT IS TO GO ON A DIET ON

SUNDAY NIGHT AFTER DINNER?

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: OR EXERCISE OR, YOU KNOW, WHATEVER THE CASE

MIGHT BE.

HOW ABOUT MAKING A COMMITMENT TO "I'MMA SPEND TIME WITH GOD EVERY

MORNING BEFORE I GO OUT OF THE HOUSE"?

WELL, THE DEVIL DOES NOT MIND AT ALL IF YOU START SOMETHING,

BUT HE HATES IT IF ANYBODY EVER FINISHES.

MATTER OF FACT, I DON'T THINK THERE'S A LOT OF PEOPLE THAT

EVER REALLY FINISH WHAT I WOULD CALL GOD'S DESTINY

FOR THEIR LIFE.

THEIR PURPOSE COMING ALL THE WAY THROUGH AND REALLY FULLY BEING

WHAT GOD WANTS THEM TO BE BECAUSE WE LIVE IN THE AGE

OF DISTRACTIONS.

THERE'S SO MANY THINGS TO DISTRACT US AND TO GRAB OUR

ATTENTION AND TODAY MORE SO THAN EVER, BUT I THINK THAT HEARING

THIS TODAY IS GONNA HELP YOU REALIZE THAT IT'S ALL SATAN'S

PLOT TO KEEP YOU FROM BEING THE PERSON GOD WANTS YOU TO BE

AND FROM HAVING WHAT GOD WANTS YOU TO HAVE.

HOW MANY OF YOU THINK IT'S TIME THAT WE NOT JUST START THINGS

BUT THAT WE FINISH THEM?

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: ALL RIGHT SO, 1 CORINTHIANS 16:9, "FOR A WIDE

DOOR OF OPPORTUNITY OF EFFECTUAL [SERVICE] IS OPENED UNTO ME

[A GREAT AND PROMISING ONE], AND [THERE ARE] MANY ADVERSARIES."

I LOVE THAT SCRIPTURE.

PAUL SAID, "OKAY, I'VE GOT AN OPPORTUNITY TO DO MORE GOOD

BUT WITH IT, I ALSO GOT A LOT OF OPPOSITION.

I GOT A LOT OF STUFF COMING AGAINST ME."

AND, YOU KNOW, SATAN MAY COME AGAINST YOUR MIND, HE MIGHT COME

AGAINST YOUR PHYSICAL BODY.

HE MAY DO SOMETHING TO GET YOU RATTLED AND UPSET SO YOU GET

YOUR MIND OFF WHAT YOUR COMMITMENT IS.

I MEAN, HIS WAYS OF DISTRACTING US ARE LIMITLESS, AND YOU KNOW

WHAT?

WE HAVE THE WISDOM OF GOD AND IT'S TIME FOR US TO WAKE UP.

THANK YOU, I'M GONNA TALK TO SOMEBODY THAT'S LISTENING.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: IT'S TIME FOR US TO WAKE UP AND START REALLY DOING

WHAT GOD WANTS US TO DO, AMEN?

ALL RIGHT, ARE YOU READY?

1 PETER 4:12, "BELOVED, DO NOT BE AMAZED AND BEWILDERED AT

THE FIERY ORDEAL WHICH IS TAKING PLACE TO TEST YOUR QUALITY,

AS THOUGH SOMETHING STRANGE (UNUSUAL AND ALIEN TO YOU

AND YOUR POSITION) WERE BEFALLING YOU."

WHY ARE WE SO SURPRISED WHEN OPPOSITION COMES?

"WELL, I JUST DON'T UNDERSTAND WHY THIS IS HAPPENING."

THE DEVIL'S SAYING, "DO YOU REALLY MEAN IT?

HOW SINCERE ARE YOU ABOUT DOING THIS?"

LET'S TALK ABOUT DISTRACTIONS.

MARK CHAPTER 4, BEGINNING IN VERSE 14,

"THE SOWER SOWS THE WORD."

WELL, YOU KNOW, THAT'S WHAT I'M DOING TODAY.

THE HOLY SPIRIT WORKING THROUGH ME IS SOWING GOOD SEED INTO YOUR

HEART THAT WILL PRODUCE AN AMAZING HARVEST IN YOUR LIFE

IF YOU CAN HANG ON TO IT LONG ENOUGH TO LET IT TAKE ROOT,

AMEN?

LET ME TELL YA SOMETHING, FOR ALL THE WORD THAT WE HAVE

AVAILABLE TO US TODAY, AND FOR ALL THE WORD THAT SO MANY OF US

HEAR AND HAVE HEARD YEAR AFTER YEAR AFTER YEAR, THERE'S NOT

MUCH EXCUSE FOR SOME OF US TO STILL BE DOING SOME OF

THE THINGS THAT WE DO.

LET ME ASK A QUESTION, FOR EXAMPLE, HOW MANY TIMES

ARE WE GONNA NEED TO HEAR, "BE QUICK TO FORGIVE"?

HEH, HEH, YEAH.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: I LOVE THAT, HEH, HEH, HEH, HEH.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: I KNOW WHAT THAT MEANS.

HOW MANY OF YOU GET IT?

ALL RIGHT, ANGER DOES NOT PROMOTE THE RIGHTEOUSNESS

OF GOD.

BE QUICK TO HEAR, BE SLOW TO SPEAK.

I MEAN, HOW MANY TIMES DO WE NEED TO HEAR THE SAME MESSAGE

OVER, AND OVER, AND OVER, AND OVER BEFORE WE DON'T REALLY HAVE

TO KEEP HEARING THAT ALL THE TIME BECAUSE IT HAS BECOME

A FIRMLY ESTABLISHED HABIT IN OUR LIFE?

WE HEAR THE WORD, BUT WE HAVE TO DO MORE THAN HEAR IT.

IT HAS TO BECOME REVELATION IN OUR LIFE.

IT'S GOTTA GET FROM OUR HEAD DOWN TO OUR HEART AND ACTUALLY

BECOME PART OF OUR NATURE, PART OF WHO WE ARE.

I BELIEVE THAT, AS BELIEVERS IN JESUS CHRIST, FORGIVING PEOPLE

SHOULD JUST BE PART OF OUR NATURE.

IT'S NOT SOMETHING WE HAVE TO TRY TO DO, TALK OURSELVES

INTO DOING.

WE'VE GOT IT, WE UNDERSTAND, WE'VE READ THE WORD, WE KNOW THE

HEART OF GOD, AND WE JUST SIMPLY ARE NOT GOING TO LIVE ANGRY.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: THAT'S JUST NOT WHAT WE'RE GONNA DO.

HAVE ANY OF YOU EVER HAD ON SOME CLOTHING THAT WAS VERY

UNCOMFORTABLE?

OKAY, WELL, I FIND THIS TO BE INTERESTING.

THE OLDER I GET, THE LESS WILLING I AM TO WEAR SOMETHING

THAT'S UNCOMFORTABLE.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: I JUST I'M NOT DOING IT.

I DON'T CARE IF I DON'T IMPRESS YOU, I'M NOT DOING IT.

I MEAN, I USED TO WEAR SHOES, AND DID FOR YEARS ON

THE PLATFORM, THAT WAS JUST IDIOTIC FOR ME TO WEAR UP HERE,

THESE--BACK THEN THEY WERE LIKE 3-INCH HEELS, BUT I ENDED UP

WITH CORNS ON MY FEET, AND BUNIONS ON MY FEET, AND HAD

TO HAVE ONE SURGERY TO HAVE THE BUNION TAKEN OFF.

AND A COUPLE OF TIMES I HAD TO SURGICAL HAVE CORNS REMOVED,

ALL TO LOOK CUTE.

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: COME ON, NOW.

WELL, YOU KNOW WHAT?

I'M SMARTER THAN THAT NOW.

AND THE LONGER WE WALK WITH GOD, THE OLDER WE GET IN CHRIST.

COME ON.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: THE LESS WILLING WE SHOULD BE TO WEAR SOMETHING

THAT DOESN'T FIT.

AND I'M NOT TALKING ABOUT CLOTHES RIGHT NOW.

I'M TALKING ABOUT THE BIBLE TALKS A LOT ABOUT THE CLOTHING

OF A BELIEVER.

"PUT ON YOUR SHOES OF PEACE.

PUT ON THE HELMET OF SALVATION.

PUT ON THE BREASTPLATE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS.

KNOW WHO YOU ARE IN CHRIST AND WALK SECURELY KNOWING

WHO YOU ARE.

WALK IN PEACE, STAY IN PEACE, DO EVERYTHING YOU CAN

TO KEEP PEACE.

TIGHTEN THE BELT OF TRUTH.

WALK ACCORDING TO THE WORD."

COLOSSIANS 3 SAYS, "ABOVE ALL THAT YOU PUT ON, PUT ON LOVE,

PUT ON KINDNESS, PUT ON MERCY."

WELL, YOU SEE JUST LIKE I'M NOT GONNA WEAR CLOTHES THAT DON'T

FIT ME ANYMORE, ANGER DOESN'T FIT ME ANYMORE, UNFORGIVENESS

DOESN'T FIT ME ANYMORE.

BEING RUDE DOES NOT FIT ME ANYMORE.

AND EVERY ONCE IN A WHILE, I'LL STILL PUT ON SOME RUDENESS, BUT

IT DOESN'T TAKE ME LONG TO TAKE IT OFF, ALL RIGHT?

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: AND I BELIEVE THAT AS BELIEVERS IN CHRIST, THE OLDER

WE BECOME IN CHRIST, THE MORE THE WAYS OF THE WORLD SHOULD BE

UNCOMFORTABLE FOR US.

ARE YOU WITH ME?

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: "THE SOWER SOWS THE WORD.

THE ONES ALONG THE PATH ARE THOSE WHO HAVE THE WORD SOWN

[IN THEIR HEARTS], AND WHEN THEY HEAR THE WORD,

SATAN COMES AT ONCE AND [BY FORCE] TAKES AWAY

THE MESSAGE THAT IS SOWN."

SO, I WANT YOU TO UNDERSTAND THAT EVERYTHING YOU'VE HEARD IN

THIS CONFERENCE, THE DEVIL IS GONNA TRY TO TAKE IT AWAY

FROM YOU.

NOW, YOU JUST MIGHT AS WELL COUNT ON IT.

"AND IN THE SAME WAY THE ONES SOWN UPON STONY GROUND ARE THOSE

WHO, WHEN THEY HEAR THE WORD, AT ONCE RECEIVE AND ACCEPT

AND WELCOME IT WITH JOY."

"OH, THIS IS SO EXCITING, BE AT THE JOYCE MEYER CONFERENCE,

WHOO-HOO-HOO.

MAN, SHE PREACHED A GREAT MESSAGE LAST NIGHT ON FORGIVING

YOUR ENEMIES AND OOH, THIS MORNING ABOUT NOT

PEOPLE PLEASING.

AND NOW THIS AFTERNOON ANOTHER GOOD MESSAGE ABOUT FINISHING

WHAT YOU START.

THAT WAS REALLY GOOD."

WELL, WHAT HAPPENS IF YOU GO HOME AND NOBODY DID WHAT YOU

ASKED THEM TO DO WHILE YOU WERE GONE?

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: YOU DON'T WANT TO GO HOME, WALK IN THE FRONT DOOR,

"I CAN'T BELIEVE..."

"OH, I'M SORRY, YOU KNOW, BLAH, BLAH, BLAH."

"NOPE, I'M MAD.

HEARD A GREAT MESSAGE LAST NIGHT ON FORGIVENESS BUT--"

[AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: "BUT I'M MAD," AMEN?

COME ON, YOU KNOW EXACTLY WHAT I'M TALKING ABOUT.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: AND I'M WARNING YOU YOU WILL BE TESTED, AMEN?

I COULD PREACH THE BEST MESSAGE EVER ON PEACE, BUT WHAT WOULD

YOUR CONDITION BE IF YOU WENT OUT TO THE PARKING LOT AND YOU

HAD A FLAT TIRE?

I CAN PREACH THE GREATEST MESSAGE ON LOVE, BUT WHAT

HAPPENS IF WHILE YOU'RE TRYING TO GET OUT OF THE PARKING LOT,

YEAH, WELL-- [AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: SEE, HEARING IT IS JUST BARELY STEP ONE.

WE HEAR AND WE HEAR AND WE HEAR, BUT WHAT DOES JAMES SAY?

"IF YOU ONLY HEAR THE WORD AND YOU DON'T DO IT, THEN YOU'RE

DECEIVING YOUR OWN SELF."

SO, VERSE 16 AGAIN, "AND IN THE SAME WAY THE ONES SOWN ON

STONY GROUND ARE THOSE WHO, WHEN THEY HEAR THE WORD,

AT ONCE THEY RECEIVE AND ACCEPT AND WELCOME IT WITH JOY."

THEY'RE EXCITED.

"AND THEY HAVE NO REAL ROOT IN THEMSELVES, SO THEY ENDURE FOR A

LITTLE WHILE; THEN WHEN TROUBLE OR PERSECUTION ARISES ON ACCOUNT

OF THE WORD--" SEE, I LOVE THAT.

SOMETIMES THE ENEMY WILL COME AFTER YOU JUST SIMPLY BECAUSE

YOU'RE TRYING TO LEARN THE WORD.

NO OTHER REASON.

YOU DON'T NEED TO GO DIGGING FOR, "WHY IS THIS HAPPENING

TO ME?" YOU'RE TRYING TO DO SOMETHING

RIGHT.

YOU'RE TRYING TO DO SOMETHING GOOD.

AND THE DEVIL HATES YOUR PROGRESS SO HE'S GONNA TRY TO

MAKE ABSOLUTELY SURE THAT YOU FORGET IT QUICKER THAN YOU EVEN

TOOK IT IN.

"THEY IMMEDIATELY ARE OFFENDED AND (BECOME DISPLEASED,

INDIGNANT, RESENTFUL) AND THEY STUMBLE AND THEY FALL AWAY: AND

THE ONES SOWN AMONG THE THORNS ARE THOSE WHO HEAR THE WORD;

AND THEN THE CARES, THE ANXIETIES OF THE WORLD,

THE DISTRACTIONS OF THE AGE, THE PLEASURE AND THE DELIGHT

AND THE FALSE GLAMOUR OF THE DECEITFULNESS OF RICHES,

THE CRAVING AND THE PASSIONATE DESIRE FOR OTHER THINGS CREEP

IN, CREEP, CREEP, AND CHOKE AND SUFFOCATE THE WORD,

AND IT BECOMES FRUITLESS."

YOU KNOW HOW YOU CAN GET THE MOST OUT OF BEING HERE

THIS WEEKEND?

'CAUSE TO BE HONEST, IF YOU JUST COME JUST TO SEE WHAT THE LADY

ON TV LOOKS LIKE OR-- [AUDIENCE LAUGHING]

JOYCE: YOU KNOW, I DON'T KNOW, YOUR TIME IS TOO VALUABLE

TO PUT IN ALL THIS TIME HERE AND THEN GO HOME AND NOT BE ANY

DIFFERENT THAN YOU WERE BEFORE YOU CAME.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: DON'T DO THAT.

IT'S JUST--IT'S A WASTE OF TIME TO DO THAT.

AND EVEN FOR ME, I'M SO PRIVILEGED TO BE A TEACHER

BECAUSE BY THE TIME I GET UP HERE TO TEACH YOU, I'VE PROBABLY

NOT ONLY PREPARED THIS MESSAGE, BUT I'VE GONE OVER IT AT LEAST

FOUR OR FIVE TIMES.

SO, I'VE HAD THIS MESSAGE NOW ABOUT FIVE TIMES MYSELF, PLUS I

GET TO PREACH IT AND SO I BETTER SEE A CHANGE IN ME TOO.

ALL RIGHT, SO HERE'S THE WAY FOR YOU TO GET THE MOST BENEFIT OUT

OF WHAT YOU'RE HEARING.

FIRST OF ALL, RESTUDY THE MATERIAL.

DON'T THINK YOU GOT IT JUST 'CAUSE YOU HEARD IT.

IF YOU'VE TAKEN ANY NOTES, IF YOU'VE JOTTED DOWN ANY OF

THE SCRIPTURES, IF YOU BUY A RECORDED COPY OF THE MESSAGE,

ANYTHING THAT YOU DO TO GO OVER THIS AGAIN AND AGAIN IS GONNA

HELP GET IT IN YOU.

LAST NIGHT I TALKED ABOUT THE IMPORTANCE OF FORGIVING PEOPLE,

AND I TOLD YOU THAT I HAVE A BOOK CALLED "DO YOURSELF

A FAVOR AND FORGIVE."

WELL, DON'T THINK THAT YOU KNOW ALL THERE IS TO KNOW ABOUT

FORGIVING PEOPLE BECAUSE YOU HEARD THAT ONE MESSAGE LAST

NIGHT OR BECAUSE YOU GOT THE SCRIPTURES UNDERLINED.

UNLESS YOU ARE VERY QUICK TO FORGIVE AND YOU CAN HONESTLY

SAY, "THERE'S NOBODY ON THE PLANET THAT I'M MAD AT," THEN

YOU WOULD BE A GOOD CANDIDATE TO BUY THAT BOOK AND READ IT AND

READ IT AND READ IT AND READ IT UNTIL IT BECOMES PART OF YOU.

ONE OF OUR PROBLEMS TODAY IS IS THERE'S ALMOST TOO MUCH

AVAILABLE AND WE WILL COME AND HEAR THIS, AND THEN TOMORROW

MORNING LISTEN TO SOMETHING ELSE, AND THEN GO TO MIDWEEK

CHURCH AND THERE'S A DIFFERENT SERMON, AND THEN GO SUNDAY

MORNING AND THERE'S A DIFFERENT SERMON, AND THEN GO TO THE NEXT

CONFERENCE THAT COMES TO TOWN AND THERE'S FOUR OR FIVE OTHER

MORE SUBJECTS.

AND SO, WE THINK BECAUSE WE'RE HEARING A LOT, THAT WE'VE GOT IT

BUT HONESTLY, WE NEED TO SPEND MORE TIME ON ONE THING.

[AUDIENCE APPLAUDING]

JOYCE: WE LIKE NEW STUFF JUST A LITTLE BIT TOO MUCH.

WHAT WE NEED TO DO IS STICK WITH SOMETHING UNTIL WE REALLY

KNOW IT.

JOYCE: WELL, WE ALL NEED TO BE DETERMINED TO FOLLOW THROUGH

WITH WHATEVER IT IS WE BELIEVE GOD IS ASKING US TO DO.

YOU KNOW, ANYTHING WORTH DOING THAT'S GONNA BRING A GREAT

RESULT IN OUR LIFE PROBABLY WILL CAUSE US SOME OPPOSITION BUT

REMEMBER, GOD IS FOR US AND WE CAN DO ANYTHING THAT GOD ASKS US

TO DO THROUGH CHRIST BECAUSE HE IS OUR STRENGTH.

TODAY, WE'RE OFFERING YOU SOME REALLY GOOD TEACHING,

AN INTERESTING LITTLE BOOK THAT I THINK IS GONNA HELP SOME YOU

IN A POWERFUL WAY CALLED "THE APPROVAL FIX:

HOW TO BREAK FREE FROM PEOPLE PLEASING,"

-------------------------------------------

INDO PARA ORLANDO. Cachorro em hotel. - Duration: 6:19.

Good morning guys!

Everything is alright with you?

I just woke up and took a shower.

And what are we going to do today?

Travel.

And now I'm taking my dog to the pet hotel.

I don't know if you guys can hear him.

I guess I never showed him here on the channel.

He does not want to come.

Let me show him to you.

So this is Jack.

Say hi.

he looks big but he's not, he's very small.

He's only 7 kg.

He's a shiba inu.

Look at his tail. It's curled over.

They have this curved tail that I think is very cute.

Say hello to them.

So I have to take him to the hotel.

Always when I travel he stays at the hotel.

For those who don't know this breed, it is a Japanese breed.

It's called a shiba inu.

From the same as the Akita family.

Do you remember the movie Hachiko?

Not from the same breed but from the same family.

but this one is smaller.

He's very quiet.

But he does not want to show himself on camera.

Are you shy?

So let me take him to the hotel.

Change my clothes and go to the airport.

Because today I'm going to Orlando in the United States.

It's the first time I'll go there.

My hair is messy.

So the first time I'm going there, I'll show you guys a little bit.

Who will stay at the hotel?

Let's go.

If you want to know a little more about dogs in Japan.

Write it down below here in the comments.

I can talk about the pet hotel and how much it costs.

Or what it's like to have a dog here in Japan.

Well, let me take him because I'm already late.

Bye guys.

He does not like to be in my lap.

See you at the airport after I take him to the hotel. Bye.

I just left him at the hotel.

I feel a little sad to leave him at the hotel.

But there he gets to play outside his cage and play with the other dogs.

I do not think there's a problem.

Anyway.

Now I'm going back home.

I'll fix my hair because it's complicated.

I'll change my clothes and go to the airport.

Ah, for those who do not know.

This here.

They are the Japanese highways.

And here are the normal roads.

I just arrived.

I'm talking softly because there are a lot of people around here.

I've had enough.

Now I'll wait a little.

I'm not going to show much of the lounge here this time

because you already know from the other videos of mine.

But that's it.

So I'll see you guys in Orlando or Detroit.

My flight is late.

But now they gave us water.

I've just arrived.

After 17 hours from Japan to here.

I arrived in Orlando.

I almost missed the flight from Detroit to Orlando.

Because my flight from Japan was an hour late.

But it's a good thing that the Detroid flight to Orlando was delayed too.

And I got it.

In 30 minutes of connection I got it.

Anyway, I got there, I got the rental car.

Here, when you rent a car.

There is a size of the car.

Here you can choose the car you want.

There are these three here.

And these others here.

But I'm going with a Chevrolet.

I'm at the hotel already.

I will not even show much here.

Because it is a family type hotel.

This is not much different.

That's right.

Now I think I'll get some rest.

Because this time zone is complicated.

Tomorrow I think I'm going to do some shopping.

Walk around here a bit.

And show things to you.

I was starving.

I went downstairs to the lobby.

They had a convenience store with frozen things.

I'm going to eat a Hot Pocket.

It looks like a burrito.

And of course, look what I found there.

Whenever I come to America, I have to eat it.

This is the Snickers ice cream.

Snickers ice cream.

It's very good.

And tea.

Let me eat and see you guys tomorrow.
