Waching daily Jan 26 2018

This video is one that you've been asking me for

for a long time!

I'm Emma from mmmEnglish,

here to share some very common,

very Australian expressions with you.

If you are living in Australia or

planning to visit Australia in the future

and plan to chat with some locals while you're here,

you're going to have to learn

some of the local slang expressions

and get used to listening to

an Australian English accent.

If you don't already know, I'm from Australia,

a very big, very beautiful island underneath you

or to the east or the west of you.

Now, my Australian English is

an English teachers version of Australian English,

so I thought it would be useful to get some

real Australian accents on here

just to show you what it's like.

So I've asked a few friends to think of some common

Australian expressions that they use all the time

and then try to explain them for you.

It's going to seem like a bit of a random collection

of expressions because I asked

them to think of ones that they use.

But they are super useful and they're used every day!

Ready?

Let me first introduce you to Ben.

Now you've actually met Ben before in this video here.

I often say "What are you doing this arvo?"

which means, well it's a compressed way of saying

"What are you doing this afternoon?"

Thanks Ben! that was a pretty good explanation.

This afternoon is very often spoken by Australians as

"This arvo" or even "sarvo".

Arvo is used in spoke English only

and that goes for most of the expressions in this video.

They're informal and they're mostly used in

spoken English.

And Australians like to shorten words

as much as possible.

Arvo.

Avo. Ambo.

Servo.

Barbie.

Sanga.

Kanga.

Blowie.

Footy.

Mozzie.

Bottle-o.

And it just goes on and on!

That's where arvo comes from.

And then there's the link between the words, this

and arvo.

And this happens all the time in spoken English

for all native speakers

who are speaking at a natural pace

no matter where they come from.

Words that end in a consonant sound are often linked

to the following word,

if it starts with a vowel sound.

I'm a little hungry.

I'm a

I'm a little hungry.

Keep it together.

Keep it together.

Keep it together.

So that's why this and arvo

sound like they're smashed together this.

This arvo.

This arvo.

This arvo. This arvo. This arvo.

We're having some mates around for a barbie 'sarvo,

you should come!

You can also hear arvo on its own.

I'll pick it up on Wednesday arvo.

Let's move on.

She'll be right.

Where would I use "she'll be right"?

Any time that something looks like

it's going to go wrong

or you're in doubt or

any uncertainty.

Yes!

And you're just like "nah it'll be fine"

but instead you just go "she'll be right".

Mate

add a "mate" on the end.

Mate is

that extra convincer. It just reassures everyone

she'll be right mate.

Like Jess said, this expression is used all the time

when you're trying to convince yourself or someone else

that everything will be okay.

It's the equivalent of saying "don't worry about it"

or "it'll be fine"

The car feels a little strange,

I hope we don't have a flat tire.

She'll be right,

there's only ten K's to go.

The trick with this expression is that 'she' as a pronoun

doesn't always refer to a woman or a girl.

Most of the time, yes it does,

but sometimes you'll hear people refer to objects

as she - it's just something to keep in mind

particularly for this expression.

Here, she is referring to the tire

or even to the situation in general.

So let's hear a few common ways that Australians talk

positively about something. Here's Ali.

I say either it'll be ace

or I've had a ripper of a time!

It's a great thing. If you have a ripper,

yeah a ripper, a ripper of a time, you've had a great time

like it's it's up here.

Yeah.

And the good time's probably here and a ripper of a time

and an ace time is like

like maybe a little bit lower.

Okay so all of these expressions are used to say

that something is really great.

Note that ace is an adjective, it could be used

to describe people, things, experiences.

Ripper can be an adjective too!

I've had a ripper day!

But it can also be used in this

fixed expression as a noun.

A ripper of a time.

How was your trip?

It was ace! We had a ripper of a time!

We just hung out on the beach all day!

Now when Ali and Jess were using their hands to show

how great these expressions were,

they were explaining the degree of greatness.

So according to them,

a great time is here and an ace time is here

and a ripper of a time is here.

I guess that might be true!

Australians, what do you think?

Is a ripper better than ace?

I think so.

Meet Tom.

Now Tom is a tradesman and tradesmen work in trades.

They build things and they fix things.

Here in Australia it's really common to hear

the abbreviated names of these jobs.

The shortened version

because we Australians love to make words shorter.

Say out of all the tradies, which is a tradesman,

tradies, you got your chippies - which is a carpenter -

sparkys - which is an electrician -

the brickies - which are bricklayers.

Did you get that?

He's referring to people's jobs. A tradie is a tradesman.

A chippy is a carpenter.

Someone who workswith wood.

A sparky is an electrician.

A brickie is a bricklayer.

Probably the other best part of the day

is where we knock off.

Finish. Get on the piss.,

which is like you go have a beer.

Knock off and get on the piss.

Not distinctly Australian expressions there

but ones that you will definitely hear

when you're speaking to Australians.

Unfortunately.

Knock off is to finish work for the day.

What time do you knock off?

I'll knock off early so we can go to the cinema.

To get or to be on the piss means to drink alcohol

and usually quite a lot of it.

One glass of wine is not "getting on the piss".

Drinking ten beers is definitely on the piss.

Now this is not really

a pleasant way to describe this activity.

It's very, very informal and used only amongst friends

but for goodness sake's please don't tell your boss

that that's what you're doing on a Tuesday night.

Tell your boss you're meeting a friend for a drink.

But then when you're talking to your friend you could say

let's get on the piss.

That would be letting them know that you were

interested in drinking a lot that night.

Where's Sam?

It's Friday, he'll be on the piss with his mates.

Please don't tell anyone you learnt that from me,

you learnt it from Tom.

I've got a few mates who often chuck a sickie

which means when you can't be bothered going to work,

they pretend to be sick and they tell their boss,

well they tell them I'm sick,

but they're really chucking a sickie.

Okay this is a good one, every Australian watching

has definitely chucked a sickie

at least at some time in the past.

And you might have done it as well.

So this is when you tell your boss

that you're unwell

and that you need to take the day off work.

But really you just want to do something more fun

like go to the beach or maybe the night before,

you went out and you partied too hard

and you can't be bothered, you feel lazy.

So in Australian slang

you can say that you chucked a sickie.

Your new friends here might try and convince you to go

camping with them one long weekend.

Come with us!

You can just chuck a sickie on Monday!

The weather is so good today,

I think we'll just chuck a sickie and go to the beach.

Also check out how Ben said Australia.

Not in Australia anyway. Not in Australia anyway.

Not in Australia anyway.

This is literally what Australia sounds like

when Australians say it.

Let's get back to the girls.

Take it easy. Yeah.

If you're too keen, too excited.

When else do you use it? Like if you, just like,

I'm going to take it easy.

Too much.

But then you can also tell someone if they're like

angry or like

too like, erractic.

Just say like whoa take it easy.

Take it easy is not strictly Australian.

You'll hear it said by lots of different

native English speakers

but it does have a few different meanings

like Jess suggested.

It can mean relax,

to do nothing, just rest or chill out.

What are you doing on the weekend?

Nothing much, just taking it easy.

Or it can mean calm down

so if someone is getting angry or upset

or they're too energetic,

then you can say,

hey, take it easy, Sam.

Stop yelling, tell me what's wrong.

Okay we're just going to deal with the shrimp thing

right now.

You probably think that we say

"Chuck another shrimp on the barbie!" all the time.

No!

In Australia, this

is not a shrimp.

It's a prawn.

We never say shrimp,

you'll never hear an Australian say shrimp.

But barbie is slang for barbecue

and you'll hear people say that all the time!

Come round to our place for a Barbie on Sunday.

That just means come around to our house for dinner.

A dinner that we're cooking on the barbecue.

So there you have it,

a collection of Australian expressions by Australians.

Thanks to all of my awesome Aussie mates

who helped to make this video.

That's just a little taste of the type of English

that you can expect down here in Australia.

Have a prawn off the barbie.

Chuck another prawn on the barbie.

Yeah, cut to me.

Well, I'm gonna play cricket, I bowl a few rips and orders

or a couple of ring-a-ding-dinggers.

Yeah I don't have to explain it,

you have to have like the words come on.

Sorry mate. Typical tradies, though,

I'm a chippy, you know, all the tradies get to work,

smocko, knock off, get on the piss.

Take it easy, take it back a notch,

just wind it down over there, just keep going.

How do I speak in slang?

Do you know what though? I reckon we nailed this.

serious English grammar lessons over there.

Thanks for watching, I'll see you soon.

Cyberpunk 2077 Soundtrack - Updated info - Duration: 8:29.

Greetings, Earthlings!

Welcome to the Madqueen Show, I am your host the Madqueen

And Mr Ruvver

On today's menu, we have some news regarding Cyberpunk 2077 soundtrack for you

A lot of you have been asking about this subject and, as I said, I need to take a deep look

into things before talking about them

And we have bad news

Well, they are not exactly bad news…

Then we have slightly unsatisfactory news that may cause a mild swelling in your main forehead vein

According to imdb.com we have three musicians

credited for Cyberpunk 2077:

Marcin Pzybylowicz, who was the composer in charge of the soundtrack of The Witcher 3

And that was predictable

Yes, we already knew that

And the other two musicians credited are Melissa Reese and Bryan Mantia

So, no Perturbator

No Perturbator in here

I wanted to be perturbated

As I said before, many of us were expecting

to hear some synthwave in the soundtrack, I'm still expecting some since this imdb

list can be updated in the future, but who knows, at this point this is what we have

On the other hand, as I also mentioned before, the music style that we can see mentioned

in the original lore of the game is Chrome Rock, a genre that doesn't exist in our

times so I don't really know how to describe it

Electronic Rock?

It sounds like it's going to be closer to an avant-garde version of progressive rock,

but that not's sure

As your business grows, so does your needs

to have the most advanced facilities

What could be better for your business than a genious factory?

Built for you in weeks and designed for your every need

thanks to Nano Technologies, your new self-sustainable premises

will take care of you, allowing you more time to focus on your clients

Nano builders

Making your business a genious business

the musician Bryan Mantia has something to say about it, as in an interview posted on Audified past May 24th

Eight months ago

Yep

And you're talking about it just now

Yep

You're doing a lousy job

In this interview, Byan Mantia says:

" I'm also working on the soundtrack for

the Cyberpunk 2077 video game

This project, in particular, has been a little challenging because the developers are looking

for music that has never been heard before if that makes any sense

They are looking for music that would be made in the year 2077

I'm into it because I really love "white noise" and I figure that's where music is

gonna be in 60 years from now

Basically, every frequency within the range of human hearing (20 hertz to 20 kHz)

Anyways, I'm really diggin' the experimentation on this project"

I'm not saying it's Chrome Rock but

I'll leave a link in the description with the interview, but

I have to tell you that it looks like they've removed the question regarding the involvement

in Cyberpunk 2077 from it

Sometimes CD Projekt are a little Megacorporation-ish

So, why choosing these two musicians?

Melissa Reese is a gifted musician that has been creating and producing her own music

since she was 14 years old

She also has studied classical piano and classical voice lessons

This education, mixed with a vast knowledge of electronic instruments and music production

software makes Melissa Reese a beast in contemporary music

She's a killing machine!

Some of her songs have appeared in popular shows like Gossip Girl, Privileged, Dirt or

Cashmere Mafia

She also has written and composed music for EA, Microsoft or Sony

As a performer, we can see her credited as featured singer in Bloodborne's soundtrack

One of the best soundtracks in gaming in the past decade

Which suits due to her classical training

She can also be seen performing the United States national anthem for pro sports teams

like the LA Clippers, Cleveland Indians, Sacramento Kings, Detroit Tigers, Seattle Mariners, Oklahoma

City Thunder, amongst others

Bryan Mantia has also quite a resume, he's been a successful drummer since the early

90s, taking part in both funk and progressive rock projects like Praxis, Primus or Buckethead

Both funk and progressive rock are two genres that are especially known for being quite

technical with the rhythm, so I believe we can assume only with this that he knows what he's doing

He's also been a drummer with Guns N Roses, Tom Waits or in the solo album by System of

a Down's singer Serj Tankian called "Elect the Dead"

So, these two already had some great experience of their own and at one point they decided

to work together

Melissa Reese and Brain Mantia met in 2012

CORRECTION: 2010 (sorry)

during the recording sessions of the records

Best Regards & Kind Regards, for the famous guitarist Brian Patrick Carroll, known professionally

as Buckethead

No, really, that's literal

This guitarist's music spans many diverse

areas such as progressive metal, funk, blues, bluegrass, ambient or Avant-Garde music

I don't know half of these words mean

And I specially wanted to point out the kind

of musical genres Melissa and Bryan have been involved with because, the must've been

selected for the soundtrack for a reason and this may help us understand what this music

that doesn't exist in our universe is

You're still with the Chrome Rock thing, right?

Obviously

The recording sessions were such a success they decided to become an official musical

duo in 2011, under the name of Brain and Melissa

As a musical duo, they composed part of the soundtrack of Infamous 2: Second Son and they've

taken part in several projects, including the E3 Xbox media briefing convention for

Microsoft for multiple years

They've also created tracks for shows like Inside the NFL, MLB All-Star Game, and the NASCAR

They composed the music for Disney Interactive's Fantasia: Music Evolved

Brain and Melissa also created the soundtrack for films like Detention or Power Rangers

and they have been part of numerous advertising campaigns, including brands like Budweiser

or Johnnie Walker

This musical duo has a huge and diverse background, mixing rock music, classical music, electronic

and commercial pop

And some others that, honestly, neither of us knew they existed

So what can we expect?

I don't know what to make out of this

I'm perturbated

They are skilled musicians, that's out of

question, but they have a tough task ahead of them: creating a new genre that doesn't exist

Will they be able to do it?

Chan chan chaaaan!

Sadly, we will have to wait a little bit to find out

I think this is the first time you talk about something on Cyberpunk 2077 and you're not 100% optimistic

They have the skills, the background, and they like experiments, let's see if they

can create a memorable soundtrack

Long Distance Relationships: How To Do It - Duration: 5:30.

*music in background*

Chris - " i love you babe"

*intro music*

hey guys it's Amanda welcome back to my channel

today's video is going to be something that I never really spoke about on

this channel yet as some of you may know some of you may not know I'm currently in a

long-distance relationship and a lot of people ask me like how do you do it

why do you do it and all these things so here are your answers

my boyfriend currently lives in Toronto which is about seven hours away from me

not too far but at the same time you can't just pick up a phone and call them

and have them come over or you go over or do anything like it's not something that's

possible so I decided I'd make a list of eight ways to cope or how to be in a

long-distance relationship and I hope these can help you if you are in the

midst of getting into one or if you're in one and it's getting a little tricky

or if you want to be in one and you don't know how and all those things so

I'm here to help you yay so I put a list on my phone because I always forget

everything so here are the things you can do to help yourself be in a

long-distance relationship number one is the most important one and that is

communication communication is key in long-distance relationships texting is

key to like just to be able to speak to that person and you should always always

always have at least weekly like facetimes or phone calls because just

makes you feel more close to that person and not as far as you guys are that is

my number one thing communication and just putting time aside for one another

because thats really important second one is to plan trips to visit each

other because that is something that makes it worth it and it makes you work

towards something and it doesn't matter how long the trips are whether they're

like three days or they're a week it doesn't matter just try to plan trips to

see each other because it'll make it a lot easier trust me and I know sometimes

it's really hard to be able to do that or to have the money but I think you

should like save towards that because in the end that's what you want and I don't

see the harm in doing so number three is to have trust it's already hard to have

trust with someone who lives in the same city as you someone who lives hours and

hours and hours away is even harder I would say personally and Trust is

something that is really important in those relationships and for you to

actually be in one I think you have to be a hundred percent trusting and 100%

trustworthy because it's really important because trusts is a

it's a big thing but if you trust this person with your whole life and your

whole heart then you're good you're very good number four is to send gifts or

like send cute little cards or anything like that because it's always nice to

like come home one day and see something in the mail and it's from your

significant other or your partner or whatever you like to call that person

and it's just like cute little things like that that can like help you get

through it number five is set goals, set goals to one

day make sure that this is not always going to be long-distance because if you

guys want to just keep having a long-distance relationship and you never

have a goal to one day break the distance then it's it's not gonna be a

good thing I think you should set goals to like when you want to be able like to

live near each other or when you want to live together and all those things

because it makes you like work towards it I mean the first day you start dating

you don't have to be like okay in like five months you need to live here but I

mean like work towards goals like that I think that's really important within

these types of relationships number six is to know each other's schedules not on

a creeper level to be like I know where you are at all times

but in a way to know like when they're free when they're busy when you should

talk to them when you can call them and all those things because not knowing can

also be kind of scary if you text someone or something and they don't answer

you for six hours and you didn't know their at work and you're like where the

hell are they what are they doing I think it's just good to like know people

schedules to know and they'll be free to talk to you when they won't be free

to talk to you just to like reassure yourself a bit number seven is that it's

okay to miss that person and it's okay to cry and it's okay to feel pain and to

feel hurt because in reality we all know that it's not easy and that it never

will be easy and each time you see them and each time you leave it'll just get

harder and I think that you have to be able to realize that your emotions will

be all over the place at times and that it's okay to cry and it's okay to

feel sad and it's okay to miss that person because that's just how it goes

and you need to accept that to be able to be in a long-distance relationship so

yeah crying is good sometimes and the last one is to just love them and

constantly love them and treat it as you would any other relationship far and

near just love them and that's- thats my advice to you guys so we're gonna go

over them communication plan trips trust send gifts know each other schedules set

goals love and it's okay to cry I hope you guys enjoyed this video if you have

any more video topics along these lines of long distance stuff please please

please leave some video ideas in the description below or if you have any

other questions about anything in the entire world leave them below and I

The Missing Text Messages Between Two FBI Officials Have Been Located. - Duration: 5:39.

The Missing Text Messages Between Two FBI Officials Have Been Located

The tables have turned on the FBI as they have now found themselves on the other side

of the investigation as they have come under intense scrutiny after President Donald Trump

fired his Special Counsel Robert Mueller.

Two top officials in the agency serving on Mueller's team became involved in a romantic

relationship and as such shared damning text messages with each other about the president

during an especially critical five-month time period.

With the investigation, they tried to hide what they said and thought they had successfully

done so by deleting the texts in question.

Unfortunately for them, just because they were erased, it doesn't mean they're gone

forever, and now the messages between the Trump-hating FBI officials, Peter Strzok and

Lisa Page.

Fox News broke the shocking update moments ago:

Text messages from a critical five-month period between Trump-bashing FBI officials Peter

Strzok and Lisa Page, who both served on Special Counsel Robert Mueller's team, have been

located, Department of Justice Inspector General Michael Horowitz has told Sen. Charles Grassley,

R-Iowa, and Sen. Ron Johnson, R-Wis.

This comes after the Department of Justice launched an investigation into Strzok and

page who had a total of 384 pages of text messages between the two lovers that contained

damning remarks and plans against the president.

According to the Washington Examiner:

The Justice Department has begun to retrieve some of the texts exchanged between FBI officials

Peter Strzok and Lisa Page that were said to be unpreserved, according to a new report.

Earlier this month, the Justice Department produced 384 pages of text messages that were

sent between the two, but the FBI said that text messages sent between Dec. 14, 2016,

and May 17, 2017, were lost due to "misconfiguration issues."

Trump was breaking ground on immigration, then it all went to "shit"

But sources within the Department of Justice told Fox News that some of the texts exchanged

from that five-month period are starting to be recovered.

Strzok was a top FBI counterintelligence agent who was part of special counsel Robert Mueller's

Russia inquiry team prior to being demoted after it was revealed that he and Page exchanged

text messages that were critical of Trump.

He was then moved to a human resources position.

Page also was previously a member of the special counsel team.

Strzok was also a lead investigator in the investigation into former Secretary of State

Hillary Clinton's unauthorized private email server.

The five-month period the Department of Justice previously had not been preserved includes

the presidential transition period up to when Mueller was chosen to be special counsel.

The Gateway Pundit explains why this it's so important to expose what these two lovers

said.

They very well could hold all the answers to the Mueller investigation:

Social media was set ablaze after these new Strzok-Page text messages were released to

the public.

What is even scarier to think about is the new explosive text messages are a separate

batch from the 6 months worth of 'missing' text messages.

The timeline of the 'missing' text messages is highly suspicious.

They begin on December 14, 2016 and go through May 17, 2017 which is the same day Robert

Mueller was appointed as Special Counsel.

Imagine what the 'missing' text messages say about the Trump transition period, Russia

dossier, "secret society" and moments leading up to Mueller's appointment.

The most shocking thing we have found out in the new batch of text messages is there

was a "secret society" of folks within the DOJ and FBI working against Trump.

The fact is that these messages were never really "missing" as has been said, it's

clear that this was a coverup.

USA Today reports:

While weighing the prospect of joining special counsel Robert Mueller's team last year,

a top FBI counter-intelligence official described the investigation into Russia's interference

in the 2016 election as a case destined for "the history books.

"

Peter Strzok, subsequently removed from Mueller's staff last summer for disparaging President

Trump in text messages, referred to the inquiry as "maybe the most important case of our

lives," according to a new release of his communications with FBI lawyer Lisa Page.

The latest batch of texts, released Tuesday by Senate Homeland Security and Governmental

Affairs Committee Chairman Ron Johnson of Wisconsin, suggest Strzok expressed some skepticism

about the inquiry just two days after Mueller's appointment as special counsel.

"I hesitate in part because of my gut sense and concern (that) there's no big there

there," Strzok said in the May 19 message, before he joined Mueller's staff.

The release of two pages of text messages exchanged between the two officials comes

a day after Attorney General Jeff Sessions acknowledged that the FBI's information

system failed to preserve five months of text messages between the two officials, both of

whom had worked on Mueller's staff.

Strzok, who also helped run the investigation into Hillary Clinton's use of a private

email server, was removed after the Justice Department's inspector general first discovered

texts in which Strzok and Page were harshly critical of Trump—in one message referring

Here's All The Naughty Content In Final Fantasy VII - Duration: 6:59.

Final Fantasy VII marked many changes for the Final Fantasy series.

It was the first title to utilise 3D graphics, the first title to use pre-rendered background

and even the first title in the main series to be released in Europe.

It was also the first game in the series to be released for a non-Nintendo system, with

all previous games being released for either the NES, SNES or Game Boy.

Going along with the change in systems, Final Fantasy VII decided to take a much more mature

approach than previous games.

It was also the first time the game was allowed to be uncensored outside of Japan, with the

previous games falling foul of Nintendo of America's strict "family friendly policy"

of the time and requiring various changes.

This led to the title being rated Teen by North America's ESRB rating system, with the

content descriptors" Violence, Blood, Sexual Themes, Partial Nudity, Language, Crude Humour

and Use of Alcohol and Tobacco" And so, this video will take a look at the

game and some examples of the types of content that led to this rating.

To begin with Use of Alcohol and Tobacco - Unlike previous games, where bars would be

changed to things like cafes outside of Japan, Final Fantasy VII featured numerous bars where

the player and NPCs could consume alcoholic drinks.

AVALANCHE's headquarters, the organisation that hero Cloud teams up with at the start

of the game, is even based underneath Tifa's and Barret's bar.

Cloud can also sit at the bar and ask Tifa for "something hard" to drink.

Another example is the bar in the Asian-themed village Wutai.

Here you can find the Turk members on vacation and they will talk about you disturbing them

and it ruining the booze.

As for smoking, a big example of this is the chain smoking party member Cid Highwind.

Cid will be constantly depicted smoking in battles, with a small cigarette never leaving

his mouth.

One of his special limit breaks will even depict him lighting a stick of dynamite with

the lit cigarette and then tossing it at the enemy.

Alongside this the FMVs, which were for the time extremely graphically impressive, will

show him smoking too.

However, Cid isn't just a big smoker but also a big swearer.

And so, with that we'll move to Final Fantasy VII's bad language.

Final Fantasy VII will often feature characters letting off bad words, although, normally

these will be censored out with punctuation marks.

However, certain words such as "ass" and "goddamn" will be left uncensored and these will appear

many times throughout the game.

Depending on what version of the game you're playing as well, you will also be able to

find various uses of the word "shit".

In the original PlayStation release, characters will let out the 4 lettered word, including

in the ending.

For some reason though, instances of the word were later censored in later releases and

replaced with punctuation marks and this is despite the first PlayStation releases still

being rated Teen.

Next up though is blood and violence - something that Final Fantasy VII definitely cranked

up a lot for the series first 3D outing.

Blood will be shown in many scenes, one of the most memorable being when you follow a

trail of blood across multiple floors of Shinra's headquarters.

Here you traverse across 3 huge floors of the building, which are completely covered

in blood.

Another scene from early on in the game that's sure to have left an impression on players

is when you see what Sephiroth does to the gigantic snake monster, the Midgar Zolom.

The scene depicts the snake being impaled by a large tree, and considering most players

would have only just fled from the snake prior to this, it does a good job a setting Sephiroth

up as being a formidable opponent.

You will be able to see blood stained textures in other locations such as the Gold Saucer's

pit to Corel Prison, which is a large metal pit in the floor with the phrase "gateway

to heaven" around it.

There's also the boss fight with Sephiroth himself, which shows his face drenched in

blood.

The general violence can also be rather graphic at times too, even when no blood is shown.

Many deaths will be shown onscreen - a few examples including the Shinra president being

impaled by Sephiroth's sword, a large number of innocent people being shot dead at the

Gold Saucer and, of course, a certain famous scene.

Final Fantasy VII's Teen-rated content doesn't end there though, as we'll now move onto by

taking a look at the game's suggestive themes.

Firstly, when talking about "suggestive themes" there's one element of the game that definitely

can't be ignored and that's the whole Wall Market section.

In the sector 6 slums of Midgar is a location called Wall Market, which is a little, village

sort of area full of shops and other activities.

However, Wall Market also has some much darker sides to it and this is something that you

will have to explore when progressing through the story.

This section will see you having to disguise Cloud as a girl to infiltrate Don Corneo's

mansion.

He needs to be a woman, due to Cornea being a very lecherous male, who has three females

brought to him every night and then picks one to be what he calls his "bride".

Needless to say, a lot of the dialogue in these sections will be quite suggestive, with

lots of suggestive comments being directed towards Cloud and the girls.

It also all culminates into Cloud and the other characters revealing their true identities

and then threatening Corneo with chopping, ripping and smashing "them" off....

"them" being a euphemism for those things between his legs.

One section of the quest to disguise Cloud as a woman will also see you visiting a brothel,

where things get even more suggestive...

For example, an event that will occur here is Cloud being "entertained" by a dozen middle

aged men in shorts.

To receive an item for the quest, he ends up taking a bath with the guys and having

to put up with them trying to hit on him.

The item he then finally receives from them is some underwear.

There's much more that goes on here and, in fact, in early builds of the game, the brothel

area was going to be even more suggestive.

However, at some point before release, the developers felt that they had taken things

too far and it would be better toned down.

To move away from Wall Market though and onto some of the game's other suggestive themes

- One thing to bring up would be the character

design for Tifa, one of the main characters and party members, who wears a short skirt

and is very well endowed.

You can even trigger a scene where another character will call her the name "boobs".

There's also a scene where you can visit her bedroom and pick up what is described as "Orthopedic

Underwear" from her drawers.

Other somewhat provocative scenes includes Hojo revealing that he plans to breed Aeris,

so they can perform research for a long time.

This is then followed by a scene which seems to suggest that Hojo was trying to force Aeris,

a female human, and Red XIII, a wolf-like beast, to mate.

As per usual in the Final Fantasy series, the character design of the Shiva summon will

also be quite suggestive.

So will the designs of some of the enemies, such as Snow, a humanoid ice-themed enemy.

She can also blow kisses at the party and inflict them with the confusion status effect.

Jenova's various appearances throughout the game could also be seen as suggestive, with

them normally depicting a deformed humanoid female torso.

And to finish there's the design of the party's airship, the Highwind, which has a painting

of a women in a bikini along its side.

There's of course more examples than these, with the game being 50 to 100 hours long and

having many things to do and see, but this should be a pretty good guide for the types

of content that the game has that led to its Teen rating.

It isn't known yet just how much of this is going to carry forward to the upcoming Final

Fantasy VII Remake, but this is something that's definitely going to be interesting

to see and to see what rating it receives in the process.

Do you agree with Final Fantasy VII's Teen rating?

What scenes are you looking forward to seeing in the remake?

Let us know in the comments below and, until next time, thank you for watching.

Planting Seedlings Indoors - Duration: 8:51.

Hi I'm Erin.

Longer days are returning to the ranch and soon warmer temps will be here.

It's time to fill the high tunnel to the brim with green.

But first we need to get some seeds in the dirt.

Gardening season 2018 starts in the basement on Our Wyoming Life

Hi and thanks for joining me today on Our Wyoming Life.

Long before we can harvest crops and take them to farmers market we have to sow the

seed.

Seedlings are the beginning of our cash crop and every plant that we will transplant outside

starts here in the basement.

If this is your first time here please subscribe and come along to explore the ranch life and

escape the ordinary.

Starting seeds is something that I look forward to every year.

Spring is coming and it's time to get back to work.

This has been our first winter of year round gardening so we haven't really had a break

from the crops but the winter growing actually doesn't take a lot of time.

A little water, harvest once a month for market and we're good to go.

Every January the itch to plant returns.

The seed catalogs are piling up and the hope of a successful garden season is on our minds.

We're still months away from planting summer crops like tomatoes and peppers but our winter

gardening can transition into spring gardening.

Crops like lettuce, kale, broccoli and cauliflower can be moved out to the high tunnel before

too long.

This winter and spring gardening is something that we're still very new at and not many

people are trying.

There's still a big risk that we won't be successful.

But the potential rewards are far greater than the risk so it's time to dig out the

bags of dirt, black trays, turn on the grow lights and get our hands dirty.

Everything that we do here today can be done by anyone.

Hundreds of heads of lettuce is probably a bit too much for the average family but the

concepts are the same.

If you're growing for just your family just scale everything down.

Or go hog wild and share your seedlings with your neighbors.

Before any seeds can be planted we need to clean all of our trays and plugs.

Soap, hot water and a little bleach are all that's needed.

The plugs get a scrub with a brush, rinsed and then we're good to go.

If we don't clean our hardware we run the risk of pests and funguses affecting our seedlings

growth.

All of our seedlings get started in a seed starting potting mix.

Its super lightweight and the tiny plants can push through it very easily.

When it's emptied from the bag it's very dry.

It's easier to work with once it's been wet down.

This way the seeds won't float away in our trays or plugs when we try to water the dirt.

It's takes a lot of water to get all the soil wet.

We just keep adding and mixing until all the soil is damp but not soaking wet.

Plugs have been placed into the standard 10x20 black gardening tray.

Now the soil can be added.

Big scoops of dirt are dumped into the tray and pushed into the plugs.

Now the soil needs to be packed in.

We just push it down into the plug and then more dirt can be added.

We want to leave enough room at the top to place the seeds in and cover with a light

sprinkling of more soil.

Once our trays are all filled we move down to the basement.

This is our seed starting area.

We have lights hanging above the tables and we use small greenhouses with lights for germination.

Starting seeds can be as complicated or as simple as you like.

You can buy expensive grow lights or fluorescent daylight bulbs from your local hardware store.

We go the simple route and for the last 4 years it has worked great for us.

The first seeds to be planted today are Salanova lettuce.

We have 4 different varieties.

2 green and 2 red.

When they're harvested and mixed together it creates this amazing lettuce blend.

This is our second year growing Salanova and we couldn't be happier with it.

It's a pelleted lettuce seed, which makes handling and planting much easier.

One seed per plug is all that's needed.

Germination with salanova is extremely high and we've found we don't need to place

more than one seed in each plug.

3 trays of salanova are planted today.

Each tray holds 105 plugs.

315 heads of lettuce in total.

Our customers are going to be very happy with the abundance of lettuce we will have for

them in a few months.

Broccoli and cauliflower are next.

These seeds are very tiny and not pelleted.

They also are the same color as our starting soil mix and pretty impossible to see once

they're placed into the plugs.

This tray will be split with broccoli and cauliflower.

We've labeled all of our trays so far as we've planted, but lettuce is lettuce and

if they get mixed up not that big of a deal.

Broccoli and cauliflower though will look very similar until they start producing heads.

Therefore it's essential we label the seedlings.

Labeling will be much appreciated when it's time to go plant in the high tunnel.

Their germination rate isn't quite as high as the lettuce so more than one seed can be

placed in each plug.

Once they come up and get their second set of leaves we can thin them out.

Last but not least and almost forgotten is kale.

I actually forgot that I had these seeds.

They could have been planted into the same plugs as the lettuce but since the kale seeds

were forgotten another plug tray wasn't ready.

Luckily these small germination trays that are used for tomatoes and peppers were clean

and ready to go.

Dirt is added to the tray and then more tiny dark seeds can be sprinkled on top.

Now it's time to cover all of the seeds.

Everything we planted today needs just a small amount of dirt placed on top.

More of our damp seed starting mix can be used.

Just sprinkle it into the tray and spread it evenly over the seeds.

Trays can now be moved into the small greenhouses we use for germination.

Clear domes are placed on top of the black trays.

They help keep it humid and prevent the seed coat from drying out during germination.

Now that the greenhouse is full we zip it up and the lights will be left on 24 hours

a day until the seedlings emerge.

The heat from the lights will warm the soil just enough to help ensure a good germination

rate.

Every vegetable you eat started as a tiny seed.

If you bought that vegetable from a local farmer at your local farmers' market it

might have had a similar beginning as what we you saw here today.

But regardless of where it came from that seed had to be placed into the soil, watered

and taken care of.

Farmers' all of the world work every day to feed us.

It's an important job that often gets taken for granted and overlooked.

We don't have to think about it.

We just go to the grocery store and buy whatever fruits and vegetables we want regardless of

what time of the year it is.

I want to encourage everyone to try and grow your own vegetables this year or that the

next time you have the opportunity go to your local market and seek out a small local grower

and try some of their produce.

It will be fresher than anything you've ever purchased from the grocery store.

Plus shopping local with small businesses has a drastically different effect on your

local economy then spending your money at the big box stores.

When I first started growing if I hadn't had a few regular customers that stuck with

me I don't know if I would be growing as much as I am today.

Every dollar spent with me in the beginning encouraged me to keep going.

And I still feel that way.

Every time I have the opportunity to sell fresh local produce it helps me to grow the

next crop and to not give up even though sometimes the odds are against me.

If you're considering growing your own garden this year now is the time to plan and prepare.

Seeds are showing up in hardware store, catalogs are being delivered in the mail and there's

still plenty of time to get your garden spot ready.

Make sure you subscribe and like us on Facebook or Instagram.

You can come along with us and explore the ranch life and see more of the journey from

seed to farmers market and escape the ordinary with Our Wyoming Life.

The Saudis Are Not Our Friends - Duration: 3:27.

A widow from the September 11, attacks called Saudi Arabia disgraceful after their attorney

characterized her landmark 911 lawsuit as Islamophobic.

The lawsuit aims to uncover, if members of Saudi Arabian kingdom provided financial support

to the terrorist that hijacked and crashed two planes into the New York twin towers.

Joining me to talk about this is Mollye Barrows, Legal Journalist for the Trial Lawyer Magazine.

Mollye, thanks.

Tell me, it's been 17 years since the attack.

What evidence has emerged?

What's changed about all of this?

Well, this lawsuit was actually first brought to court in 2010, but it was dismissed because

there were laws in place against suing Saudi Arabia.

Essentially you couldn't go after any government for terrorism that wasn't on the US list of

state sponsored terrorist.

And now, Congress ...

Yes.

Finally, did something smart and said, "Yeah, we can sue Saudi Arabia."

Matter of fact, our law firm full disclosure, we're doing that.

We're suing terrorist all over the country.

All over the world actually under this new terrorist act, but anyway, So, that's the

change.

That's the change.

So, Justice Against Sponsors of Terrorism Act in 2016 opened the door for them to refile

this lawsuit and basically because it was dismissed before, the Saudi Arabian attorneys

are saying, "Well, you should dismiss it again.

Not only for lack of evidence, because there is no evidence," they're basically making

a claim that those who support Islam or the religion of Islam itself, everyone who believes

in it is terrorist.

And that's not at all what this was saying.

But, that's where the attorneys are trying this against her and all, you're just victimizing

Islam, which is absurd.

It is.

From the very time, matter of fact, their argument in from of congress, when congress

says, "We're gonna open this up to where we can sue Saudi Arabia."

That was the argument to congress.

Oh, you're just victimizing us, you're victimizing Islam.

You're victimizing Muslims and it doesn't have anything to do with that.

The truth is, what was it, 85% of the people involved in the twin towers were from Saudi

Arabia.

15 out of 19 were from Saudi Arabia and not even until now, were they able to approach

suing.

So, the good news is, maybe this woman can do something that has some long, you know,

call it what you want.

I don't ...

Yes.

I don't care what you call it.

Maybe, victimizing Islam, I really don't care, but this is going to have long standing effect

on how these lawsuits take place against Saudi Arabia.

You're right, because there are so many and it is bringing to light new evidence, which

has recently been declassified information from the FBI as well as the 911 Commission

Report that indicates that there was a connection between Saudi Arabia and some of these terrorist

cells.

Yeah, but you ...

Funded them and supported them.

You have the ultra liberal media, "Oh, my God.

We're going after Islam."

We're not going after Islam.

No, terror.

Terrorist, you're going after terrorist that lived and thrived in Saudi Arabia.

Right.

That's just the truth to this story.

Mollye, thanks for joining me.

Yes, and before we go Pap, you were fresh off the plane from Denver.

You were at the Sundance Film Festival where the Devil We Know premiered.

Devil We Know.

You were featured in that.

Tell us a little about that.

Well, it's a film that's going to do very, very well.

It's a film that's about DuPont poisoning the water of 70,000 people in the Ohio River

Valley.

At Sundance, it was a huge mega success, so I'm very proud to see this movie released.

It's important it's released and thanks so much for the work you did that made it possible

for them to do that film.

Well, thank you Mollye.

Thanks for joining me.

Thank you.

When Having a Child Doesn't Make You Happy | NYT Conception - Part 2 - Duration: 4:15.

My mother, Nina, I don't know a lot about her.

I remember that she was profoundly sad.

It was sad being around sadness.

One day I came home from school, and I said,

"Where's Mom?"

He said that she's not coming home.

He told me that she had a heart attack.

It was a real gift of a lie.

I can't imagine what it would be like

if I was told that my mother killed herself,

that she chose to die.

As a child, I believed that when she couldn't take care of us,

she went up to heaven, and she made sure

that we would be provided for by finding the best stepmother she

could find and making sure she came to us.

I was 30-something when I was like, O.K., let's try this.

Maybe I'm ready now.

The first few months, I was actually really happy.

He was just like a little baby bird.

I'd felt like we did bond.

But he wasn't growing, and he wasn't sleeping.

So I was feeling so sad and so wretched.

And in this like combination of emotional anguish,

physical pain —

it was kind of like ice and acid.

I found myself having thoughts that were almost

like a mathematical equation.

I'm a bad mom, which means that I should get out of the way.

At some point, I just took a whole lot of sleep medication,

and I woke up at St. Vincent's Hospital.

I believe that she sent me back.

My birth mom met me at the gates and said,

"Nope, we're not ready for you.

Go back down, and be the mamma to your child

and be the wife to your husband.

Go live."

I was like just looking to be strong enough

to have another child.

It was like the same tapes were kind of like back in the brain.

Everything just felt impossibly heavy.

At some point, I found myself with my green belt.

I just wanted to wrap it around my neck, and so I did.

And I wanted to pull it hard.

And I did.

That was really the call for help.

The gap between expectation and reality is where the pain is.

And there I was experiencing a [expletive] of pain.

And I kind of understood how heavy it was,

but I think it was heavier for her.

I was going to stay alive for my children.

So I would be their mom for the rest of their lives,

or for the rest of my life, but a really long life.

My responsibility was to take care of myself.

Dissolve the guilt and the shame.

So we can just deal with what is.

Get through it when it's hard.

Celebrate it when it's wonderful, and live.

This panel in white coats start asking me questions.

The one question I really couldn't answer for

a long time was a very basic question.

What do I want?

Spoiler-Free Review of Ragged Company by Richard Wagamese - Duration: 6:03.

My name is Danika, and today I wanted to talk about Ragged Company by Richard

Wagamese. One of the things I'd like to do this year is to make videos about

my five-star reads of the year, because it's pretty rare that I would give a

book five stars. Generally for me that is an incredible book: life-changing or

really memorable. Something that I absolutely love and I want to be able to

share those sort of books more. Also, I know book reviews aren't seen as popular

on booktube but they're actually some of my most viewed videos over time, because

people go back and look on YouTube for books that they've read that they've

loved. They want to see other people's opinions, and even though those videos

might not get a ton of views right away, they do have lasting value. So if

you wanted to do reviews but you feel like no one will ever watch them, I would

recommend giving it a shot. Maybe if it's a super obscure title it won't get a lot

of views, but that's not to say it's not worth doing. You get a lot more engaged

feedback on those videos. But also my most viewed video of all time is my

Series of Unfortunate Events review, so you never know what people are gonna

respond to. But mostly I wanted to make videos about these books because I want

to talk about them, and I also want to think about them a little more. If I'm

gonna rate a book five stars and say that it is amazing, then I want to be

able to think about it a little bit and really process my own thoughts and

feelings on it. So, onto the review itself: this is a spoiler-free review, so if you

haven't read it, that's okay. Ragged Company follows a group of four

chronically homeless people, two of whom are indigenous and the author is also

indigenous. As the weather gets colder, they start to go to movie theaters to

have a place to stay warm, and they end up completely falling in love with movies.

And also, they win the lottery.

That premise, of a group of homeless people

winning the lottery, makes it sound like there's gonna be a very strict

divide between before and after, and that's not exactly what happens here.

Obviously, it does change things for them, but the book is very contemplative and

character-based, it has more to do with survivance than any grand fantasy of a lot

of wealth. Survivance is a term used in indigenous studies and I only

learned about it once briefly in school. so I may be getting this completely

wrong, but as I understand it it's about indigenous survival as an ongoing

process, both culturally and individually. As an active, vital way of being. The

characters in Ragged Company have suffered. Part of the reason that they

are chronically homeless is that they have been running from the past and the

trauma that they had there. Just having to get by day to day meant they never

stood still long enough for the past to catch up with them, but winning the

lottery changes that. And when they start to be able to take their own health and

safety as granted, the other things that they have been fighting to push down

start to resurface, and they have to deal with them.

That's kind of the thing about healing,

is that once you're in a safer place, you might start to notice all of

these things bubbling up that you might not have even realized were there,

because you're finally in a place where you can actually look and deal with them.

So we slowly get to learn about all of their pasts, and how they ended up where

they are. And it's brutal to read. These people have gone through tragedies.

I will admit to full-on sobbing while I was reading at least once, but because

these are things that mostly happened in the past there's a little bit of

narrative distance, which made it more readable than if they were happening in

real time. But overall, this book has more to do with hope and friendship than it

has to do with despair. Before winning the lottery,

Amelia, Timber, Dick, and Digger had started to change their habits to be

able to come together. Digger, especially, was someone who was a loner

by nature and really pushed back against the idea of being part of a group and

relying on people again. But Amelia leads them to each other, and they start to let

each other in. And facing this new situation

mostly brings them closer together. Having to deal with this huge change of

lifestyle all at once. I keep thinking of Ragged Company as "homegoing," and it's

funny because when I read Homegoing by Yaa Gyasi, I didn't really think about

the title, I obviously didn't get the title because it wasn't until I read

this book that it popped into my head and I started really thinking about it.

I feel like this book made me understand that book better, even though they don't

have a ton in common. In Ragged Company, they seem to be

circling back, and by sitting with the trauma that they've been running from

for so long, they start to be able to move through it. Not over it, but through it.

There's a line in the book where one of the characters says "You have to go

home. You have to go home, so you can finish

your story." And that seems to be true for all of the characters: they have to go

back so that they can move forward. The movement in this narrative isn't linear,

it's spiraling. Despite the pain and the tragedy in this book—and it does get

really dark—it reminded me of The Color Purple by Alice Walker in the way that

it deals with tragedy and these really horrific things, while still having this

message of hope. It acknowledges that the world can deliver these horrific blows,

while still saying that it's worth living in it. It's also about the

abundant potential of human connection. It's not just the group of the four of

them that get closer. They start to gather more people into their lives that

they wouldn't have met otherwise, and start to realize that reaching out to

people that are really different from you can be hugely rewarding. Obviously I love this book.

It made me think, it made me cry. It felt like such a nourishing book.

Whenever I encounter a book like this, I realize how shallow the interaction I

have with most other books. And that's fine! Not every book has to be

life-changing, but it's really gratifying when you read a book that feels so deep

and meaningful, and that you really feel like you're fully engaged in. And I'm

really grateful to have had that experience with this book. Let me know if

you've read this one or if you're thinking of reading it, and if you have

read it, definitely tell me what you thought about it! I would love to discuss

this with other people. And thank you for watching!
