Trying out recipes from THE ANNE OF GREEN GABLES COOKBOOK - Duration: 14:42.

We are meeting in my kitchen today

I've decided to film a very fun video today, at least for me,

because it's related to one of my favourite fictional characters of all time

It's Anne of the Green Gables

I liked all the books about her from when I was a kid. Especially Anne of the Green Gables.

I also liked those old movies about her. There were two movies, I think.

I don't really like the new production about Anne, but I adore those old ones.

And I watch them at least once a year

Also, if some of you still remember, there was this old anime cartoon

I watched it all the time after my classes, when I was still in primary school.

And I just had to have it in my collection

but i could not find it in english or lithuanian

so I had to buy a german dvd

but I still watch it even in german, with the biggest nostalgia

This book, at least how it looks on the outside, matches all my expectations for an Anne of the Green Gables book

It has very beautiful illustrations

beautiful pictures and photos

Every recipe is explained.

It has a reference to every mention of the recipe in the actual Anne book.

The author has made an awesome job

trying to recreate, or I should say CREATE those recipes

And I thought it would be very fun to try this recipe book out.

Let's do it together

I've picked four, maybe five recipes to try

We'll see what I manage to do with them

All recipes look very simple, but not bad

I'll add a link to my blog where I wrote down all the recipes that I've tried from this book

So, I'll meet you in my blog.

We'll start from the Chocolate Caramels

which look very delicious to me.

Actually, we don't need too many products for this

I have all of them prepared

Butter, condensed milk, chocolate

it's important that the brown sugar would be firmly packed, dense

And we also need corn syrup

It was the only thing I could not find at the super market

I got maple syrup instead

Anne...

Canada...

makes sense. I hope it will be allright.

We just need to put everything to the saucepan actually

And bring it to boil over medium heat.

And then stir it constantly the entire time without stopping

This is the hard part.

I'll probably put on some vlogs to watch

while stirring

I bought a wooden spoon for this recipe

cause it says you need to stir everything with a wooden spoon.

And I'm about to make baked macaroni for my lunch.

The recipe looks simple

you only need a few things, which could easily be found in every grocery store.

I just think, I'll make a double portion.

because...

it seems too little for me.

For today's dinner I'll be making...

not for dinner, actually,

but for dessert after dinner

I've decided to make these dumplings with apples

It's the first recipe in the book.

I'll show you how it looks and we'll start cooking.

This is how it looks in the book.

You can see it's served with ice cream.

I'm going to serve it with ice cream too.

The recipe tells you how to make the ice cream yourself

But I won't be making ice cream today. I will serve it wit the ice cream I've bought.

I have everything that I need prepared

Here's my baking tray.

By the way, it says you need 6 small apples

But I thought, 4 apples like these

will be enough. Maybe it's even too much.

Let's do this.

So, here is 180g flour

with 3 teaspoons of baking powder

with a pinch of salt

and it says, you need 75g butter

and 120 ml milk

so first

I need to mix in the butter with my fingers

then add milk

and I'll have a dough

ok, I really need more flour

so I could make a proper dough.

The dough is soft

it's easy to work with, very nice

I'll need to stretch it a bit

for the filling

and now let's divide it to 6 equal pieces

I'll put apples on and then I'll be shaping pies.

I won't make them equally shaped I think

but, as I understant, they don't need to be

I've got some apples left

I feel that I had to make the dough thinner

it looks very puffy now, because of the baking powder, I think

My pies are blooming out

like flowers.

it will be like flat bread with apples

Good morning.

I'm going to make an interesting breakfast today

I'll make these sandwiches

They look interesting for me, cause you put the butter ON TOP of the sandwich

you don't need to boil eggs

just keep them in hot water for 25 minutes.

and then it says, you need to keep them

under cold running watter for ten minutes

you could shower in that time

I'm not sure if I want to keep my water running for that long

and

what else...

you need to smash eggs with a fork, not slice them

well, that's not that weird

as not boiling those eggs at all

and then that butter on top

it looks like something interesting to me

The filling is going to be

mayonaisse, and I have prepared

a celery stalk

I've chopped it last evening

I'll put the celery stalk together with cooked eggs and mayonaisse

These eggs look perfectly cooked

and they were very easy to peel. It's a nice way to prepare eggs

You see me for the last time in this video, I guess

I'm going to make the last dish that I chose

from The Anne of Green Gables Cookbook

it's going to be the home made sandwiches

home made because I'll bake the sandwich buns myself

I hope it turns out delicious

And as you see, we don't need too many products. Ingredients are very simple.

I'll just make a dough

and later, on the sandwiches, I'm going to put very simple things

bacon, mayoinaisse, salad, and tomato. That's it.

The start…

… the jams …

… the slips …

A fierce and intense event

where the only tactic is giving everything you've got until the end

This is cyclocross

Everything goes so fast almost as if you weren't breathing

you only hear people screaming,

cheering and rooting for you

in the end …

You don't notice but … the hour went by flying.

For me, cyclocross is …

… battle, is contact,

is that anxiousness at the start when we're all ready to try and give out our 200%.

… is getting to the first curve and try to gain positions

… try to avoid getting outraced

… try to do your best in every obstacle

in every sand part

in every curve, every climb and slope;

it's getting all your shifts right

… it's having everything perfectly controlled for an hour.

You might think it's a lie but, you end up so tired and exhausted …

that you think you won't do it again

but you just want to come back for more and enjoy the races

that for me are spectacular!

World Cup at Koksijde! this is the "sand paradise".

As you can see these are sand dunes and the riders walk so much! Only the real pros ride through it.

And this is the straight of the race

where they go back and forth

and it is a continuous show! Yesterday, I raced

and today I'm watching from the outside. But, it won't take us long to be back there,

right in the heart of it cause that's what we like!

Suffering, Having fun and living it!

Belgium, the Mecca of cyclocross

a unique atmosphere, almost sacred

and in tune with the limits of effort

pedaling, running, jumping

avoiding obstacles, slipping, falling

falling again

skidding and braking, knowing that luck … can turn its back on you any time.

It's the essence of cyclocross.

You learn to endure,

you learn to push yourself to the top

you learn to pursuit your limit

to search for the contact with the rest…Now you go, then it's me.

It was pretty technical here there were these leaps with some kind of … canal

that you needed to jump

and jumping with these bikes it's like … oh my god

I almost killed myself in one … but well,

the rest didn't jump and I did so I had to make the most of it and rest. … it's everything.

Besides, the circuits are so flat

there are just a few steep slopes and that's it the rest is just push, push, push like an animal

and that's what I'm learning … to pedal in flat terrain -which I never do-

the contact with the other racers

to keep pushing myself

to deal with the struggle for an hour

and in the end… I'm so happy

'cause for me, not getting thrown out by the head of the race…

…for me it's an accomplishment. I know it's really hard

and just the fact of doing the whole race …

as people might know,

it's quite difficult and we have done it again

so I'm pretty stoked It looks so good! Your dream bike

… I realize how hard it is to shift in cyclocross …

We're in the Orbea Factory in Mallabia,

I don't know if the Orbea Terra will adapt to that specific circuit.

the Orbea Terra is a versatile bike, light

super responsive

and it's going to perform just fine for sure

Really? Because the geometry is different the head set angle is a bit forward,

the bases are longer from what I've seen on TV the circuits are really fast …

… I don't know …

I have that thing on my mind that, I don't know if I'll ride ok.

But the fact that is longer will only help you take the curves

you'll do better in the technical parts

Every time you go over the finish line you'll be able to couple with the bike

Well, then it's great. I think I'll do just fine in Belgium

what does cyclocross mean for Flanders?

Cyclocross is my life

it's a discipline

to which I feel very connected.

It's a way of life

and it gets you hooked because you feel the warmth of the people.

It's a discipline that comprises the physical but also

skills and technics aspects.

It's one of the few disciplines where the shortest road

isn't always the best.

We're in Ciclos Portugalete with "Portu"

The reason we're here is because

As a TV sportscaster, cyclocross is by far, one of the sports that I enjoy the most narrating

There's not one moment of relax

You start shouting from the very beginning;

It's not like other sports where there are ups and downs. moment of great emotions but also boring moments

It's a really attractive

discipline to televise

and that's part of its success

We were like ninety riders here

and I started in the far back

but I did good I suddenly saw Wout Van Aert rainbow jersey in front of me

cause at the beginning it was twisty

But well, I risked it all I had to risk it to be up front

and I got it wrong in the off camber …

Bobby Walden is a hotrodder coming from Texas,

he settled in Pomona, and his specialty is Ford Model A.

They almost make everything !

You need a chassis,

parts, doors, roof inserts ?

They are real fabricators, like in old times, I love it !

Actually Bobby Walden is working on a roof insert. Watch this !

When he's moved to California, Bobby Walden worked at SoCal Speed Shop in Pomona,

and became a specialist of roof and doors inserts for early Ford models.

And in 2005 he opened his own speed shop a few blocks away.

From now, his reputation had preceded him

and he provides worldwide hotrodders

with a complete catalog !

from the suspension mount to the Ford 32 frame.

That was my last time tagging with Tanahashi.

I know that what makes a pro-wrestler is different for everyone, by my definition is,

Someone who devotes their life to this, that's what makes a pro-wrestler.

I've only got one more match left. It will be very emotional.

I've taken a lot of damage over these past 8 years,

But the memories I've made in this time, I'm sure because of them...

That I have become stronger.

Going forward, I'll always fight with that knowledge close to my heart.

8 years ago, here at Korakuen, Tanahashi said he'd make me a complete pro-wrestler...

I'm forever grateful to him. I'll never forget that.

8 years ago, Tanahashi was 35, the same age I am right now.

In these 8 years I always looked up to him, always sat near him on the bus.

8 years from now I'll be his current age, I want to keep going, keep wrestling.

Since becoming a pro-wrestler, it's my dream to stay one until the end.

I will give my all, tomorrow.

How to Make Thin Hair Look More Full in Seconds | Beauty School | InStyle - Duration: 1:44.

I'm always looking for tips that will make my hair look thicker.

My favorite hack is to do it with eyeshadow.

There's a lot of brands that make products made specifically for this,

like Clairol and Color Wow.

You want to fill in your part with powder.

You don't want to have sparkles here

because that ends up looking unnatural.

If you can choose one with gray undertones,

as opposed to red, that reads more naturally too.

Choose a dense brush.

I'm using a concealer brush here.

Pack on your eyeshadow.

Then, you apply it to your part.

You want to use a pushing motion

so that it really gets into your part.

As you can see, we're halfway there and

I think you can already see a pretty big difference.

This definitely isn't a fix for everyday,

but it's great if you have a special event,

or you're getting your picture taken

and just want your hair to look way thicker.

You can also set the style with hairspray when you're finished

if you really want it to last all night.

But since I have such fine hair, I'm not going to do that

since hairspray weighs it down.

As you can see, it has a real visual impact.

And really tricks the eye into thinking

that you have thicker, denser hair.

Do you stream from your ps4 or Xbox are switched to twitch YouTube Facebook and

mixer if so I'm gonna show you some awesome tips that are gonna make you

become a better console streamer let's go!

if this is your first time here and you want to learn how to grow and improve

a while ago I did a video on how to be a good console streamer and addressed all

the common mistakes people make streaming from their ps4 Xbox and switch

and people have been thirsty for more by asking me tons of questions about how to

be a better console streamer so this video is for all of you out there so get

your notepad ready because I'm gonna show you how to become better streaming

from all of your console out there to platforms like twitch mixer YouTube and

Facebook gaming let's go before we begin if you haven't seen my last video on

common console streamer mistakes go ahead and pause this video and check

that out first before you continue on with this awesome list now if you're

streaming directly from your console most streamers don't realize that you

have broadcast settings within the application that you're using to

broadcast out to whatever streaming platform you decide so our tip here is

make sure you go into those settings and adjust them for your internet needs and

the quality that you want to produce out to whichever platform you pick if you

play multiplayer games out there you will be surprised at who will click on

your username and go into your profile and you know what a lot of people are

lacking a proper impactful and effective profile that's gonna lead those people

to your streaming platform whether it be twitch mixer or anything beyond and

you're really not helping yourself out put it in a small description about

yourself and who you are and a funnel that goes back to your streaming

platform put your links put stuff about you that's gonna entice people that's

gonna make you more discoverable you'll be surprised especially if you

play multiplayer games out they're of how many people will find you

through this method since we're talking about affective profiles you need to

have an effective profile on your streaming channel now one thing I see a

lot of console streamers lacking is having gamer IDs and gamer tags that are

easily accessible for new people that come into the channel that want to play

games with you and this is an awesome way to create a community and grab more

regulars into your channel if you will let them have a fun time playing games

with you trust me you're gonna grow and you're gonna grow fast so I highly

recommend adding your gamer IDs and tax now for an extra bro note for me to you

make sure you add these into your timers as well or commands so that way people

know how to gain access to your channel or its your game very quickly now I get

this question asked to me a lot how do I add commands in timers well you need a

bot and I will be doing videos on this soon I keep promising it's just hard to

find the time to fit these in but once you introduce a bot to your channel you

can set up timers that will let people know pertinent parts of information like

your game or IDs or schedules or anything like that but the commands are

the most important part because if somebody wants to join your game you can

have a join command that will let people know the rules or how to join or

you can do gamer ID commands that let people know where to find you easily and

accessible it's all about creating a stream line process because if you break

that streamline process people will kind of give up really quickly and they'll go

to another channel that's gonna be more effective for them let me ask you all a

question out there and be honest how many of you have been streaming on to

twitch and somebody comes into your channel and the first thing out of their

mouth is what console are you streaming on and generally you'll say one answer

and they were looking for another one and then they leave it's probably

happened to you a lot and the way to minimize this is you want to attract the

right crowd to attract the right crowd all you really need to do is just add

what platform you're on and the very beginning of your title on your

streaming platform literally put in parentheses or quotation marks put PS

for then your title put Xbox and then your title put switch and then your

title and so on and so on and what this does is this refines the

market of who maybe looking for you I mean come on it

makes sense if people are gonna play multiplayer games and they're on an Xbox

most of the games out there they have to look for an Xbox Lobby so that's the

first thing that they're gonna look for and this is an awesome way for you to

narrow down refine a niche your content to attract the right crowd this is a

huge tip that pays off awesome our next tip is all about being prepared and to

be honest I'm guilty of this myself sometimes when I stream from my console

don't be a scrub and make sure that all of your gaming gear your controllers and

your headsets or whatever you use is charged and for an extra tip make sure

you have extended cables I can't tell you how many streams that might have

been cut short because my controller dies and I don't have any backup

batteries or don't have a backup controller and my cable is only three

feet long why do they only give you three feet of cable come on so what I

highly recommend is go ahead and on go on Amazon and buy yourself an extended

cable so that way if something dies or ruins the flow of your channel you can

easily just plug it in and keep on going but the point of this tip is make sure

you're prepared by having all of your equipment charged right off the bat

because there's nothing worse than starting your stream and then 15 minutes

in everything kind of dies-out now if you're one of the brave ones to stream

off your ps4 or your Xbox and you use the camera one big common mistake that I

see a lot of people do is that they have their camera super far away from them

and they look super small and nobody's gonna really notice you and to be honest

the quality of those cameras aren't really the best unless you have the

proper lighting to go along with it so for our tip on this one is I highly

recommend getting yourself a basic Amazon USB extended cables so you can

move the camera closer to you to fill up more of the frame and you can get

yourself like a a gooseneck or a small little baby tripod to help out with this

it'll make a huge impact because people are attracted to faces so they're gonna

want to see your reactions they're gonna want to make a personal connection with

you so get this extended cable route it from your xbox to your ps4 and put it

into an optimum spot for the camera to pick you up with proper lighting it'll

pay off huge one thing a lot of streamers are missing from their console

streams is high quality audio not not just talking about the gameplay but

also the chat that comes through their headset or their microphone there are a

lot of settings that you can change within the settings of your console that

are gonna help improve this between party chat or localized chat or gameplay

don't be afraid to go in the settings of the gaming and adjust the ambient sounds

the volume sound so it comes across perfectly and don't be afraid to do the

same for your party chat or local chat or anything coming from your headset or

for your mic and also don't be afraid to ask anybody that's currently watching

you is there something that you can make better game volume sound effects down

your voice up your voice down it's a little tougher on a console because

you can't really hear yourself unless you got you know a laptop or a PC next

to you but don't be afraid to make these changes because if people can't hear the

gameplay or they can't hear you or they hear your squeaky friends over you

people are just gonna leave since we're talking about audio let's address one

thing audio is key you need to have good audio which means you pretty much have

to stop streaming off one of these earbuds that came with your console it's

time to upgrade and get yourself a decent headset and there's a lot out

there you don't want to spend hundreds of dollars like the Sennheiser game one

you can get yourself a nice headset for under fifty bucks and this is gonna help

you have a better voice which is gonna cut through and make people engage more

with your channel audio is super important because you want to have that

good clarity within your voice and if you think my voice sounds good

almighty subscribe button one thing a lot of streamers don't do when they're

trimming from their consoles is they don't turn on their subtitles by default

if somebody's gonna watch you play a game play and you're using mostly all of

your video player for your gaming content you should really turn on

subtitles if it's a story-driven game because since people may not hear all

the nuances of you or the gameplay it's really gonna help them out to keep up

with the story by turning on subtitles and a lot of people will specifically

look for a game play that has subtitles so they can keep up with this story so

make sure right when you start your game if the default setting for subtitles

isn't on turn it on before you start streaming one of the

common complaints I always seem to get from console streamers is they always

say wild I can't compete with the big boys and the big girls that have pcs

that are streaming games because they got all these sweet setups you know

that's kind of lame thinking and scrub thinking it's your charisma and it's you

that's really gonna push you through the game and hold onto the retention of

people that come into your channel and what's gonna be really cool about you

being a smaller market out there is you already have this particular niche that

you can that you can fill a lot of people love watching smaller streamers

and engaging so what you need to do is make sure you're constantly engaging

with your channel not just your chat but your channel you should always be

talking about the game the way you're playing it and how you can do things

bigger and better within the game so there's constant flow and when people

come into the chat and start talking you should never miss a comment you should

be right on top of it because people are gonna see how professionally you take

your stream because there's no reason for you to miss it because you're

probably not gonna have a higher view count so you should be right on top of

it and continue to keep that conversation flowing for the whole time

you are streaming and if you have problems keeping your channel engaged or

your chat engage or keeping the talk flowing or breaking the silence you know
