Seeding Life in the Universe: Directed Panspermia - Duration: 5:06.

Unfortunately, we don't know much about the earliest life on planet earth.

We have some clues, such as the Miller-Urey experiment, which showed that the building

blocks of life, amino acids, could be produced under conditions present early in our planet's

history.

But the steps after that, where life itself arose, are still largely an unknown.

Also unfortunate is that until we reproduce life itself in a laboratory, we're probably

not going to know the answer to exactly how it arose here.

Earth's earliest fossil record is basically missing, having long ago been ground up or

weathered away, but what rocks we do have from early in the earth's history show that

as soon as this planet cooled enough, and the bombardment from comets and asteroids

abated, life arose very quickly.

This bodes well for life in the universe in general.

While we may not yet be able to reproduce the exact chemistry of life's genesis, nature

seems to have had no problem with it and thusly would likely do it anywhere it was possible,

at least on a microbial level.

But it's also possible that life might have arisen somewhere else in the solar system,

perhaps Mars, and was delivered here by a meteorite.

And it's also possible life from earth might have likewise colonized other bodies in the

solar system.

This is an interesting scenario.

Say we found life at Europa, if they were genetic cousins through panspermia, that might

open the door for us to get their diseases as they might still be compatible with our

biochemistry, yet those diseases evolved and developed on an entirely different world.

Kinda scary, but then again, it's equally possible that our immune systems might easily

overpower any such pathogen.

But what of life being delivered to our planet from another star system entirely?

It isn't very likely for this to happen naturally.

Travel between star systems takes a very long time, such as with our friend Oumuamua, which

took at the very least tens of millions of years to get here from wherever it's from.

It's hard to envision spores remaining viable that long without something extraordinary

going on.

But what if that were the case, what if an alien civilization long ago started sending

out protected samples of life in order to seed the galaxy with it?

This notion is called directed panspermia and it's a very old idea.

The first time it came up to my knowledge was a 1930 novel by Olaf Stapledon called

Last and First Men where the last people living on earth send out the seeds of humanity into

space to start anew.

It's also been suggested that we should actively do this, and seed the universe with

our life.

In a 1979 paper and subsequent work, M. Mautner and G. Matloff, link below, lay out a methodology

for doing this.

There are many arguments, pro and con, as to whether we should, however, the most compelling

con for me is that such a thing might put native life that might develop in a star system

at a disadvantage.

But there is another angle.

An alien civilization could have done it too.

Sagan and Shklovski hypothesized that aliens might have done just that with Earth in their

book "Intelligent Life in the Universe".

And that brings us to the canned worms because such a thing might be quite advantageous.

Can number one is a form of SETI.

It's possible that if an alien civilization had seeded life on earth, they may have left

messages encoded in our planet's collective DNA.

And there have been claims that weirdness has been found in our DNA.

I will make a more extensive video on that within the next few weeks but the second can

of worms is that if you are the first civilization in a galaxy, you would have the option through

directed panspermia to guide and sculpt to a degree future life in your area of the universe.

Such a civilization could seed life in the galaxy and monitor it with von Neumann probes

and essentially control all life from microbial development to intelligence.

Even scarier, if that von Neumann probe didn't like what it saw, given that all life in the

galaxy would be biochemically related, it could deploy a pathogen devised by a civilization

billions of years more advanced than the target world and essentially hit the reset button.

And from that comes a possible solution to the Fermi Paradox, though I would say only

marginally so.

Maybe we don't see alien life everywhere because the first civilization in a galaxy

always seeds, controls and guides all life to an end that never involves anything beyond

a certain level of development to ensure that no civilizations ever interact with each other.

This could be for their own safety.

No interaction means no transmission of disease between biologically compatible species.

Thanks for listening!

I am futurist and science fiction author John Michael Godier currently back after several

days of computer problems, it wouldn't surprise me in the least if the first machine civilization

we establish contact with breaks down in the middle of making an extinction threat and

then sends a blue or grey screen and tells us to contact a qualified repair person and

My Taekkyeon level wasn't as advanced as that of a national representative.

My Taekkyeon level wasn't as advanced as that of a national representative.

However, I'd always been the representative for Busan area.

I'd been the national competition champion for over 10 years,

I was always at the top of my weight level.

Very heavy. These are all the medals I won.

Very heavy. These are all the medals I won.

How many of them?

I haven't counted them yet. I don't know.

How do you feel seeing these awards?

I recall the times I practiced and competed.

Do you still participate in competitions? I take it as my hobby now.

Do you still participate in competitions? I take it as my hobby now.

Why not partake in competitions?

I think meditation is better than sports now.

I think meditation is better than sports now.

Hello, everyone. I'm Kim Hyuntae.

I've meditated for about 2.5 to 3 years.

Before meditating, I was always tired and wanted to sleep.

Whenever possible, I wanted to lie down.

After meditating, this condition disappeared.

I felt my mind is clearer.

So I keep meditating.

I started taking part in sports when I was 7 years old.

At the beginning, I was interested in Taekkyeon.

After becoming a competitor, physical requirement became more intense.

The intensity of activities caused injuries and degeneration to my joints.

The intensity of activities caused injuries and degeneration to my joints.

Gradually, my shoulders started aching.

Especially on rainy days, my knees were sore and uncomfortable.

I started to feel pain when I was in Grade 11.

Since then, the pain and uneasiness slowly became part of my life.

Since then, the pain and uneasiness slowly became part of my life.

One day, after one hour of {\i1}Energy Bagua{\i0} practice,

I heard a "crack" sound on my knees.

After that, my knees felt much better.

I thought the knee pain was a normal thing.

I thought the knee pain was a normal thing.

After my knee pain was gone, I realized I was wrong.

After my knee pain was gone, I realized I was wrong.

Any psychological changes?

Through practicing {\i1}Energy Bagua{\i0}, {\i1}The GI{\i0}, and prostration,

I become very positive.

It's like...

I'm feeling good, very happy.

I'm energetic.

To my surprise, when I think of doing something,

I found myself start doing it already.

It's amazing.

This is also my learning process after meditating.

Because of obtaining awards in national competitions,

I was guaranteed admission to university.

To others, since I gained admission to university,

To others, since I gained admission to university,

I shouldn't have any worries. However, it wasn't my case.

I shouldn't have any worries. However, it wasn't my case.

I felt very anxious about my future.

If an athlete is injured, their career is ended.

If an athlete is injured, their career is ended.

The injured players around me,

couldn't be athletes anymore. They went to study.

As they weren't used to it, they suffered a lot.

Learning about their stories,

I worried about if I should study and play sports at the same time.

But now I ain't worrying anymore.

Why?

Because when I set my goal, I'm already acting on it.

Whatever I want to learn, I'm learning it.

Before, when I wanted to do something, I'd drag on it.

Before, when I wanted to do something, I'd drag on it.

Now, once I've set my goal, I act on it right away.

Because I have the power and ability to achieve my goal.

Because I have the power and ability to achieve my goal.

I'm more confident.

WWW Script Generator - Duration: 12:29.

At first, import "WWWScriptGenerator" into your project

Choose "Window / WWW Script Generator" from the menu of Unity and open the window.

You can switch screens by pushing tabs.

Let's actually try using the tutorial data.

In the basic setting screen, press the Create Tutorial Data button to create tutorial data.

When you move to the method screen by pressing the Method tab, you will find three methods are created.

When you move to the model list screen by pushing the Model tab, you will find four models are created.

Press the Generate button on the common menu. Scripts and test code are written out.

The directory "method" contains the methods defined in the method list, "vo" contains the models defined in the model list,

and "en" contains enum scripts defined in the enum list

Test codes and test scene are also written under the directory specified in basic setting.

Let's execute the test code

Click on "Root" and the result will be displayed at the bottom after a while.

You can copy the result string into clipboard.

For example, you can check it with a JSON parser tool.

"Repos" will fail even if it is pressed as it is. It is because the parameters are not set.

Since "repo" and "owner" in this method are blank, specify owner name of github and repository name.

Subdirectories are created under the directory specified in Save Path of the basic setting, and the scripts are saved into them.

Users can customize the connecting process by overriding methods in this class.

Let's set datas manualy

If you already know the server API which you want to connect, first thing you should do is copy the domain URI into basic setting.

Next, you will create a method for the API, and set the endpoint.

Create a model for return value of the method.

You can add properties one by one manually.

You can create properties from the JSON string in the clipboard. It is useful if there is already JSON of return value from the server.

It doesn't matter whether it is surrounded by "{" and "}" or not.

Go back to the method screen and set the return model.

Generate scripts and test codes.

You can find that the properties you set are included in the execution result.

Let's see the code attached to the test scene.

By looking at test code, you can see how to use the generated scripts.

For sharing the setting to server engineer, you can use excel file. At first, export TSV file.

TSV files are written in "UserData" folder.

"wsg_template.xlsm" is original and you should keep it and make copy name such as "wsg.xlsm" in directory "UserData"

Excel includes macro for TSV import / export and input validation. So, a warning will appear when opening Excel, please enable macro.

Import TSV files which is in the same directory of this excel file.

Data is imported into each worksheets.

As a test, edit an "Endpoint Desc".

Export TSV files.

Import TSV files in Unity

You will find the changing that you did in excel is reflected.

Australian Visas from Philippines (Visa Newsletter - 12 January 2018) - Duration: 6:22.

Australian Visas from Philippines - Down Under Visa

Visa Newsletter - 12 January 2018

Happy New Year An enthusiastic Happy New Year to all of our

clients, new, existing and former clients.

To those newer Australian Filipina couples who find themselves

entering a scary and daunting tunnel that is the process

of migration to Australia with an Australian partner visa.....to those who can see the

light at the end of the tunnel already....and to those Australian

men and their Filipina ladies, wives and partners, well and

truly settled in their homes in Australia to whom the scary times are well and truly

over and who are just grateful to have each other.

To all of you, a happy new year.

May this year bring you all that you want, and may it especially bring

you closer to those that you love.

For us?

We're just thankful to have played our part.

Changes to Australian Partner Visas Not all that scary actually.

The Australian Embassy staff in Manila were generally pretty speedy before

Christmas, giving plenty of clients that very nice surprise.

Even the Department of Immigration (now apparently known as the Department of Home

Affairs, but no one has told us that officially) managed to

grant some onshore partner visas quicker than we expected.

No idea if that will continue or not.

But no new fees.

And they've promised to only raise fees in accordance with the Consumer Price Index

on 1 July every year.

Decision-Ready Partner Visa Applications And most of you already know that they are

insisting on Decision-Ready visa applications for partner

visas and prospective marriage visas.

The days of putting in an incomplete application and waiting for

them to provide guidance through the rest of the process, those days are long gone.

We have always insisted on that standard, and only on a handful of occasions where a

client has been desperate did we ever lodge something of a

lesser standard and only after the client promised to make

up the deficit in a timely fashion.

Even that is a thing of the past now.

So try to understand why we do get tough, and why we will continue to be

tough on you so we can put together the best possible visa

applications which will put you and your relationships in the best possible light.

Same-Sex Marriage and Partner Visas As we announced in December 2017, changes

in the Marriage Act 1961 have meant that as far as the

Migration Regulations definition of spouse includes same-sex marriage (gay marriage).

Therefore the doors are open for genuine Australian Filipino

same-sex couples to apply for partner visas and

prospective marriage visas based on actual or intended same-sex marriages in Australia.

There is some misinformation getting about that as the Philippines Government doesn't

recognize same- sex marriage that it will not recognize Australian

Filipino same-sex couples who marry in Australia.

Completely untrue!

We've already had a trickle of same-sex couples with marriage intentions come to

us since then, as have professional colleagues of mine who deal with other prospective migrants

to Australia.

False information and Visa Refusals The every-present tendency to lie on visa

applications still exists, sorry to say.

We have a few clients at the moment who are being asked to explain

themselves by the Department.

If these are established without doubt as being false information,

the end results won't be pleasant at all.

I won't go into detail, for obvious reasons.

Just be completely aware that they are looking at false

statements and bogus documents, omissions of important facts and anything that puts

the identity of the applicant in doubt.

Leave out some essential information, and your application form becomes a

bogus document.

Leave out kids or other family members, including adult children and former de facto

partners, and you have made a false statement.

Official documents with wrong information that could

sway a decision or conceal some essential facts, and you've lodged bogus documents.

And ignorance of mistakes is no defense at all.

Saying that your parents or your auntie made the error is also no excuse.

So please take this all very seriously when we ask you to check and double-check your

facts.

And try to understand why we won't lodge your visa the

moment the last document lands on our desk.

Act in haste and regret at leisure.....something you will

never see Down Under Visa doing.

All our warnings and our insistence on accuracy and thoroughness is

all for you, our valued clients.
