President Moon hosts special lunch marking start of 2018 - Duration: 2:10.

Let's start at the top office...

It was the first official work day of 2018 for President Moon Jae-in,... where hosted

a special luncheon at the Blue House, pledging to continue to reform the country

Our Blue House correspondent Hwang Hojun reports.

Under the slogan 'A Worthy and Just Country,' President Moon Jae-in hosted a special luncheon

to mark the start of the New Year.

He was joined by 246 guests, including political and business leaders as well as members of

the general public.

President Moon delivered his new year greeting to the guests, pledging to continue his initiatives

to build a sound country.

He vowed to create more quality jobs and pursue systematic and structural reforms in order

to build a fair, just, and trustworthy country.

He also called for active communication among labor, management, and the government, as

well as between the ruling and opposition parties to build a prosperous nation.

President Moon said he has set two goals for the new year: Peace on the peninsula and enhancing

public safety.

In fact, during a cabinet meeting that took place before the luncheon, the president referred

to North Korean leader Kim Jong-un's New Year's address and his willingness to send a delegation

to PyeongChang next month, and encouraged related ministries to help restore inter-Korean

talks ahead of the games in February.

(KOREAN) "I ask the foreign ministry to closely consult

with our allies and the international community so that we may push for an improvement in

inter-Korean ties and a solution to the regime's nuclear issue at the same time."

In regards to the accidents in 2017, especially a recent fire in the city of Jecheon that

claimed 29 lives, Moon promised to bring in more policies related to security and safety.

Earlier in the day, President Moon made a brief visit to the National Cemetery to pay

his respects to the nation's fallen heroes.

He left a message in the visitor log saying he will prepare for the 100th anniversary

of the national foundation,... once again settling the dispute that modern Korea was

founded in 1919 when the country's provisional government was established in Shanghai during

Japan's colonial rule.

(STANDUP) And with the new year, the Blue House says

2018 will be a year when the Moon administration's pledges to create a safe, peaceful, and prosperous

Republic of Korea will start to bear fruit.

Yagen Onsen Kappa No Yu - Aomori - かっぱの湯 - 4K Ultra HD - Duration: 3:06.

Kappa No Yu is an open air public onsen located in Aomori's famous Yagen Onsen area.

On paper this little wonder is everything that someone could look for unfortunately,

the shortsightedness of the local government turned this little paradise into a sad abandoned place suffering from the harsh weather of Aomori.

Because of some unfortunate choices, the Onsen is now featuring a semi covered wooden roof and pillars that are suffering from the elements and cut most of the Onsen bathing area in half.

While I will strongly suggest anyone visiting the area to give Kappa No Yu a try,

I would also urge them to talk to the local administration to give back this little onsen its past beauty.
