Waching daily Jan 22 2018

Hi guys and welcome to everydayidraw.

Today I wanted to share five things, you

did not know about me. And as you guys

probably know, I'm not the person, who

shares a lot of their personal life.

Simply because...

I have none. =D

I really want this channel

to be more about drawing

and inspiration, and stuff like that. And

since I work from home, I don't really

have a life. I mean, seriously. I might be

home for a whole week and don't really

go out that much. It's really hard to

share anything non-existent with you. But

today I wanted to talk about 5 things.

I did not really have to think that hard,

because this is just the thing, that are

on my mind recently, and if you remember

from the last video, I was saying, that

everything, that I would get from my

lovely patrons in December, in January,

I will send to an orphanage. And this is a

very specific one. I don't think, I've shared

this on this channel. But I do have an

adopted younger brother. He's with us for

two years now. I will give the donations

from Patreon, and I probably will add

something on top. I will give it to the

orphanage house, that he came from. And it

was a really hard experience to go there.

We had to actually go there for two

months, once we knew that we are adopting

him into our family. And to wait for the

whole paperwork to get through, we would

go there like every day. And it looks

like a normal kindergarten. And they only

allow you to visit, when kids are outside

playing. So this is like maybe one hour

per day. Every group in this kindergarten

has a very specific part in the yard,

where they are allowed to play. So they

are not allowed to leave this area. And

when you come there, all of those kids,

they know, that you might probably be

their parent. And they just follow you

with their gaze everywhere you go. It's

extremely heartbreaking to be there,

when you know, that when you talk to them

and when you play with them, you

don't really make anything easier.

Because you will not be there in, like a

couple of months. And knowing, that my

brother would have to stay there, because

I would have to leave in an hour, and he

would be there for another whole day.

It was just, like, I really felt a lot of

this weird feelings, that did not really

got easier. And this is why I know, that

I cannot really do much. And I extremely

appreciate my parents for doing this thing.

They are crazy and amazing. And extremely

brave. And I just wanted to give as much

help, as I can. Because it's better, than

nothing. So this is why I'm giving my

donations to the orphanage house. And

I mean, there are a lot of good causes, that

you can support. Like chronicle illness

patients or anything like that. But for

me, since I was there, and I had a very

personal contact with this reality. This

is why I'm supporting this one. But

I really want to encourage you guys this

year, try to give at least something,

maybe to the Goodwill, or any good charity

of your choice. I mean, we can all

complain about world being not a good

enough place, but I really want to

encourage you to do something, to make it

a better living for all of us.

Let's get to the next one.

If you guys met me in

the real life, and a lot of you did, you

know, I don't eat meat. I don't really put

any label on that, so I'm not calling

myself a vegan or vegetarian or anything

like that. I wanted to try and maybe not

eat meat for some time, and see how my

body would react. And from that point it

kind of stick. I do like animals,

excluding spiders of a very specific

size, when they are not cute anymore,

because they are big enough, but they're

not so big, that you can kind of mistake

them for something cute, like a mice, but

those spiders, that are in between, like

No.

I'm not really a big fan of saying, like,

"I will never do something". Like, "I will

never drink alcohol", or "I will never eat

meat", or "I will draw every single day",

because I feel, like, it was so much

pressure on you. So I find, that what

helps me a lot, is to say, like, I'm trying

this now. So I'll see, how it goes. So, if

in the future I will feel, like I really

crave meat, like a steak, or, I don't know,

whatever... I would probably consider

eating it. I will not be restricting

myself, but for now I feel, that my body

goes better without meat. And my skin

gets clearer. So I'm just sticking to

that routine. There is one exception though.

(vain attempts to say the name)

You know, this Vietnamese soup.

I'm a huge fan of Vietnamese cuisine.

I mean, like, guys, let's just take

this moment and praise Vietnamese cuisine,

because this is just...

Sadly, not any place

I go, they serve this soup without meat. Even if

In a lot of places, If you ask, they would

switch your chicken or beef to tofu. But

the stock would still be meaty. If I'm

craving for, and this happens to me

with scary frequency, like, a lot, I would

definitely go and eat a bowl of meaty soup.

Because, soup is just so good.

I think about death a lot.

Before you freak out,

let me just explain myself.

I was reading Mark Mansons's book.

It's called "Subtle art of not giving a fuck".

It had a lot of amazing ideas. But one,

that stuck with me the most, was that

death... Inevitability of death - Is the only

certainty, we have in life.

Everything else, that we have, is our

perception. Is this good or bad?

Do I like this person, or not? Do I really want

to draw or not? This is just, like, my thoughts.

And I cannot really be sure all of the

time, but what I can be sure off, is that

everybody will die, including me. They say,

this a lot. "Live every day, like

it's your last one",

and stuff like that. But you never

really think about it. If you try to

think about it, and this year I actually

tried a lot. Always it scares the sh*t

out of you. But then it gives so much joy

to life. Like, to everything, that you have

to face. For instance, the other day I had

my toilet clogged. It was a nasty thing.

And I was home alone. And to my horror,

I did not have this thing, that you used to

clean clogged toilet... How do you call this?

Let me google that.

"Plunger", or "force cup".

Let's call it force cup. So I did not

have a force cup, because last time we

moved, our old one was really scary, and

not cute looking. So I threw it away,

thinking, like, "oh I'll buy a new one"... and

I never did. So force cup was out of my

reach. I decided, I would just put

rubber gloves and there is no better way

to do it, but just dig deep into the

toilet. And I was home alone. But then

I figured, that during... The last time, I was

washing my floors, the last rubber gloves,

that I had, were punctured with

holes. So, I threw them away, thinking, like,

"I will buy a new pair", and I never

did. So, I had to do something with this

clogged toilet. And there was no better

way, like, no other way, but to really dig

with my bare hand and dig deep and clean

this clog. And...

...it was disgusting, but I did it.

Because it was Christmas time.

In Europe, if something happens

during Christmas,

you are alone to face it. No supermarkets

are working. And there is a very

low chance, that you will be able to call

to some professional and get a help

really quickly. After I did that, I was

like,... I scrubbed my hand with,.. with every

might I had. I would, even, like, after 2 or

3 days, I would still, like, sniff it a

little bit. But you know what? After

I thought, that I would die at some point...

This thought quickly transformed this

clogged toilet experience into something,

I was glad to have. Because I was alive.

And I was

enjoying life at its fullest.

yeah...

This thought actually helped me. And I'm still

working on that. But it helps me a lot to

get rid of anger and negative emotions.

Because I really want to help people.

And I really want everybody to feel better.

I have a limited amount of time. So why

would I want to spend it on making

myself feel, like I'm better, than

everybody else.

I would rather help people. And I would

rather make people feel better, because

they also have a limited time on this

planet. It's so much more fun to live it

in a very positive way, rather then

trying to explain, that somebody on the

Internet is wrong. This helps me a lot.

When, for instance, I face negativity on

the internet or, if somebody in real life

tries to be an a**hole, I feel like, I'm

invincible. Because I'm thinking, like,

Nooooooo!...

My camera died.

Okay, we are back after a

short break, after my camera died.

I totally forgot, where did I end the

previous section. So I will gradually

move to the point number 4.

I am gradually trying to reduce the number of

litter, that I produce. This is why this

year I've decided to first of all, get

rid of the one time use plastic bottles,

that we buy all of the time. So I bought

myself a bottle with the charcoal,...

charcoil filter by BUproducts.

Links will be listed down below.

I extremely love this one, because it

looks amazing. And I carry it around.

And sometimes I would remove the filter and

just use it as a bottle for my juice or

anything else. And also I started to use

my thermos more. This is actually the

termos, that my friends gave me.

It's a Japanese one. It is really tiny, it's

only like 250 ml. I enjoy

drinking tea or coffee, when, for instance,

I'm walking, talking. In the morning

I would just pour some coffee and enjoy it

while looking at this city,

and enjoying the morning. And then

I would also want to start to carry it

around more. When I'm in the city, for

instance, if I'm going for a coffee,

i would not use this one time paper cup with the

plastic... lit (cap). But rather pour it into

my thermos. The second thing, that I use

is menstrual cup. If you are a girl and

you hate all of those menstrual products,

as I did. I absolutely despise all of

them, because I just feel, that they're so

not convenient. And also I am pretty

scared by the chances of getting toxic

shock. I will leave a link to an

interview with an amazing extremely

brave girl, who did go through a toxic

shock herself. And she lost her leg.

And usually those kind of things, like, those

kind of risks... You don't really get

enough information about them, especially,

when you're young and you're just

starting to use this product. So

I started to use menstrual cup. And I just...

Guys (girls), I praised by it. It's so, so good.

It's so convenient, it's extremely clean,

extremely easy to use. And it's super

safe. So, Menstrual Cups y'all ! =D

The final thing, is that

I started to work on my

wardrobe. And I'm not a fashion person.

But I really like my outfit to look neat

and putted together. So I was really

inspired by the idea of capsule wardrobe.

And now I watched videos by danish girl.

Her name is Signe. And I will leave

links to her channel somewhere here in

the carts. So you can check her out. She

talks a lot about capsule wardrobe,

building one, finding your own style,

sticking to your style, working with a

minimal amount of accessories. And since

I've started to budget myself, I don't

feel need anymore for spending money to buy fast

fashion things from Zara and H&M.

I would rather buy one pair of extremely

expensive... Like, well, not extremely.

One pair of expensive

designer jeans, that will last me for

five years. And they would fit me

perfectly. Rather than buying fast

fashion jeans. Biggest problem, that

I have, is that they fit my butt. And

everything is perfectly... legs, everything

is OK.

But the length is just... Where did they

see girls with such long legs. I mean, if

they do exist, I extremely envy them.

I'm a short legged person. I think... I don't

know. If I would buy jeans from fast

fashion brands, they would have

extra 20 centimeters, dragging behind me...

Last thing, is that I really enjoy

working from home and, as you can see,

in most of my videos, like, I do have a

costume of normal person on the top. So

I would wear a t-shirts, or preferably clean

t-shirt for you. But on the bottom

I would usually wear my yoga pants, or

pajama pants. Because this is the perks

of working as a freelancer. I am this

kind of person, that is extremely

organized, when staying at home. So

I don't really struggle with organizing my

working day. I used to think of myself, as

a very bad company worker. Because I'm

just so much better working from the

quiet space of my home. This would makes

me a good freelancer, I guess. Or at least

I hope so. I hope you learned something

new and exciting, or maybe not, from this

video. As always, I want to thank my

patrons for allowing me to be here and

for sponsoring good cause

this year. If you liked this video, please

give it a thumbs up. And if you want to

share one thing, that I did not know

about you, please do so in the comments below.

Please, subscribe to my channel and

follow me on social media. All the links

will be listed, as per usual, in the

description box below. And I will see you

guys next time.

Bye!

There are blocks of layered terrain within the Olympus Mons aureole.

The aureole is a giant apron of chaotic material around the volcano

perhaps formed by enormous landslides off the flanks of the giant volcano.

These blocks of layered material have been eroded by the wind into the scenic landscape we see here.

VegFest NL 2017 + Restaurant Tips - Duration: 8:47.

Hi I'm Ken Spector with HappyCow I'm in Utrecht, Netherlands just outside of

Amsterdam I'm here at Vegfest Netherlands with the founder and

director of Vegfest Netherlands this is Christine Burgemeester I was intrigued

to find out that there are only 70,000 vegans in the Netherlands and 800,000

vegetarians do you feel like these events are helping people to move from

vegetarian over to vegan it seems to me that there's a lot of opportunity to

move at least the vegetarians over to vegans and there's so many there's quite

a few cheese places here De Charli's I tried the raw cashew-based cheese

absolutely delicious what are your thoughts on that I think people are

getting inspired so if people are coming over when they want to know more about

veganism so they are already thinking about it I want to know more I think we

have more people who are flexitarian vegetarians reshuffling a bit more into

the vegan or getting more vegan and also a lot of vegans meeting each other like

you see here or sitting on the field what percentage of people here today do

you feel are vegan I think it's 5050 5050 okay and how many people have

attended the event the last couple of days yesterday I think two and a half

thousand and today it will be a little bit more so I think in total we will be

somewhere between six and seven thousand okay and what are some of your favorite

restaurants in the area and then in Amsterdam let's say your three favorites

in the area for vegan restaurants Well, one always will be in the Netherlands

Veggies on Fire I think that the Weed Burger

you know

I'm a big fan of them I think I told you before I really love Weed Burger and Weed

Burger joint the Dutch Weed Burger

and I'm going to mention one in Rotterdam that's Oude De Plek and that's a

vegetarian Chinese restaurant, but most of the meals are vegan terrific I think

you've done an outstanding job this has been a fantastic event and it's so

smooth it doesn't seem like there are any problems and you don't sound like

you've really had any problems at the event no we have a great team and we

are working on it for more than five years now so of course always you will

have some challenges which is more yet like a person that's gets sick that

you need to help or a bottle of oil that you get on the floor that needs to be

cleaned but that's minor issues you can you can solve them terrific thank you so

much this is Christine Burgmeester. Thank you very much this is Christine

Pope Francis Apologizes For Sexual Abuse Remarks - Duration: 0:48.

Pope Francis has apologized for suggesting that those who experience sexual abuse at

the hands of priests should show "proof" of their accusations.

According to Reuters, Francis told reporters on board the papal plane Sunday his comments

As we previously reported, while visiting Chile last week, the pope asked for forgiveness

from victims of a yearslong sex abuse scandal in the Catholic Church.

But on his last day in the country, he accused some of the victims of slander.

Francis was defending Bishop Juan Barros Madrid.

Accusers say Barros was complicit in covering up the crimes of a Chilean priest.

Francis said last week that, until he sees hard evidence implicating Barros, the accusations

are all slander.

During his remarks Sunday, the pope reiterated his belief that Barros is innocent.

Moeller Technique Appliacation - James Payne - Duration: 20:57.

Hi guys welcome to another episode today we're going to talk about shifting the

motion from arm to the Moeller technique once you learn a specific technique it's

always good to dedicate some of the practicing to learning how to apply

these techniques and it's very important that you break down all the motions and

what happens when you shift from one part of your body to the other in order

that you're bringing get's educated to do that and you don't have to think

about it when you then will just play drums you don't have to think about what

you have to do but you can just think of what to do on drums okay so a very

important thing is to understand and to coordinate the difference between the

motion the two motions that we are going to see here and then understand how to

shift how the shift works and then do a workout to actually get used to that and

make it from conscious to unconscious so we will shift the control from the brain

thought and brain control to muscle memories and so just the unconscious

part of doing this which will make everything more spontaneous and again it

will give us the freedom of just do whatever we feel in whatever moment with

both our right or left hand without just being able to do certain things just

with one part of our body and sometimes like if you want to lead or if you want

to accent or do certain things with our weak limb so if you're right-handed

your left hand would be the weak limb sometimes is not coordinated because

you didn't spend any time practicing that and you're not able to be as smooth

as with your strong limb in my case my right hand so breaking down all these

motions and dedicate part of our practicing to this will allow us to

develop the freedom and we did this and we'll do this for every technique going

from arm to shifting to each grip and technique and we always shift from

arm to the techniques because the purpose is to shift from the big muscles

to the small muscles without losing synchronization and control of the

rebound and of the surface that we're playing on so let's see exactly what

happens so when we will shift from an arm motion

which will involve bigger muscles to a Moeller motion

Moeller technique motion the Moller develops on a lateral motion and

involves bigger muscles but the difference between two motions is that

the Moeller motion will involve the big muscles just at a certain speed and it

will be one motion for multiple strokes which can be a three Moeller stroke or a

four you can also do it for longer strokes but it will just become harder

to do so it starts to become a limited thing so I suggest to

keep it for like three or two and if you want to do sorry three or four and if

you want to do it for a two stroke I wouldn't develop it laterally

but vertically but you can see all this more in depth in the Moeller technique

episode and instead what I wanted to address here in this episode is that the

motion will always start with an arm injection but it will then develop in

two different ways so the arm motion is just going to be a one stroke motion so

every time our arm moved and down and up stroke we'll only play one stroke with our

stick when we then shift this to the Moller we will play multiple strokes

so when we go from an arm motion to a Moeller what will happen is that we will

have to prepare to the lateral control it's like a kind of like an up

stroke down stroke when we want to accent and we do like the last tap

we start to already do the up stroke playing the last tap so something like

this but instead of develop it vertically we will develop it laterally

so it's going to be one two three four one two three four one two three four

one two now I'm exaggerating the motion so that you guys understand of course

it's not going to be so obvious but so you understand the concept okay so

it's important that when we go from the arm to the Moeller we understand this

part and we understand that we have to then start working in a different way

instead when we go from the Moeller to the arm motion basically the first stroke of

the arm bar it's going to still be a Moeller motion because we will like when

we will play the fourth Moeller stroke our arm will be like in this position so it's

better to just come back in a Moeller with a Moeller motion and then just control the

rebound vertically without going back in the Moeller system so what I mean by this

is basically doing this so Moeller Moeller arm Moeller Moeller Moeller

but then we control it with the arm okay so it's going to be 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 1 okay

so this type of motion great now that we understand this and that we have an idea

of how we have to coordinate and how we have to think about

shifting let's do a workout that will help us to step by step to shift this

from our thought and brain controlled motion to an unconscious and spontaneous

motion just by keep doing it and educating your muscles to do

spontaneously this kind of shifting okay so the first part of the workout we can

start using heavier sticks these are aluminum sticks they're very heavy the

purpose of this is not to gain power and develop my muscles is to stay always

stay synchronized with the rebound because if the sticks are very heavy I

will feel immediately if I'm lifting them or if I'm following the rebund if I

follow the rebound I will never feel the weight of the stick because the rebound

will push the stick back up for me instead if I will feel the weight of the

stick it means that I'm not synchronized with the rebound anymore and that's a mistake

and I never want to feel the weight of the stick so I have to pay attention

during the transaction during a shifting between the arm and the Moeller motion

that I never feel the weight of the stick and I never lose the

synchronization and this kind of sticks or any heavy stick will help us in

understanding if we are actually always synchronized in every part of the

shifting or we are doing some mistakes so the first part of the workout will

start playing one bar of quarter notes one bar of eighth notes shifting from

arm motion playing quarter notes and Moeller motion playing eighth notes and

we will do it without a click so that we are free to just work on the feeling

work on feeling comfortable and being comfortable in doing this without the

restriction of having to follow a metronome and we can dedicate one minute

for each limb just one bar quarter notes 1 bar eighth notes so the first

part of the workout will be

we can speed it up slow it down using more arm motion or speeding it up making

it more a wrist motion of course the more we will speed this up the more we

will work on our wrist and we'll stop using the arm and same thing with our

left hand

and so on so let's do 60 seconds per hand and then we can do unison and

alternated hands in this way

Alternated

okay so in this part I just want to focus on being comfortable without

having to think about a metronome or click but just feeling that everything

is working I'm synchronized with the rebound at every

time and then I can repeat this with my regular wood drumsticks that I use to

play so we'll go through the same routine always 60 seconds per hand and

then 60 seconds and 60 second alternated in this way

so I speed it up and slow it

back down I just try different speeds different dynamics so that I just get

the more comfortable possible with this then I'll do the same thing with the

left hand

then unison

and it's good to practice the Unison section because the right hand and left

hand teach to each other different things the right hand might have more

control and so it teaches a little bit the control to the left hand because in this

moment what happens is that our brain is working at the same time on the same

motion in two different parts of our body so there will be a guide like the

stronger limb will become a guide for the weak limb and you will feel this when

you when you will practice this you will feel the difference between playing

unison and playing only your weak limb how playing unison becomes like the guide for

the weak limb like the strong limb becomes a guide for the weak limb so and then

you can do alternate

the more we will do this the more we'll have to try to pay

attention to the distances between the notes

having always the tip of the stick at the center of the surface that we're

playing on so that we have the same sound and a constant sound and not any

weird shuffle feel or any unwanted feeling and the same sound so that we

don't play in different spots of the surface unless of course it's not

something that we want to do ok so once we feel comfortable with this

part of the workout we can go and do the second part which will require us to

follow a click track and we will increase the Moeller motion bars keeping

the arm motion bar always one so we're going to play one bar of arm motion one

bar Moeller motion then one bar arm motion two bars Moeller motion one bar arm motion

three bars Moeller motion and so on so that we keep a bar for rest to rest the

Moeller motion then we kind of start to get used to the Moeller motion more and

more so it's a good way to work also on the endurance of this motion and it kind

of save time in not having to do too many work out for every step of for each

technique which will make it impossible you know to have a study course for

every single thing so in this way we kind of condense things together and

we'll play right hand first left hand unison alternated let's see exactly how

this would work

then we'll speed it up

also in this workout we can use heavier sticks and repeat the same thing

maybe without reaching the same speeds but it's always good to have that extra

feeling for the rebound to make sure that we really are doing everything in

the right way so let's repeat this with our heavy sticks okay so also here let's

pay attention to distances between the notes dynamics between the sticks having

everything as much even as possible so that we don't have too many sounds and

we have a very tight sound when we do this type of stroke rolls or exercises

and to play always at the center or always exactly where we want in the unison

part I keep the tips of the sticks a little bit distant from each other so that I

don't hit the other stick that's the only reason why I stay a little bit that

far away from the center but for the rest I try to always hit always in the

same spot and always in the center of the surface that I'm playing in

and so again this is a great exercise to shift from arm motion to swivel and

to make it to have the possibility to have this motion from thought and

brain control to just natural and spontaneous and will help a lot your

drumming so have a good practice and I'll see you next time
