5 Tips on How To Recognize An INTJ In Public

As one of the rarest personality types in the world, INTJs also hold a unique status

that bring curiosity towards most people.

In addition to that, INTJs are an introvert which makes them even harder to describe,

given that they spend less time in public.

For starter, they are very private and often enjoy more quite environments with less human

interaction.

They are bound to themselves with an interesting tasks, which is always their passion.

They grin even for the smallest achievement, knowing that it is necessary to reach higher

goals.

Because of this characteristics, many individuals may be want to meet an INTJ face to face or

want to determine whether someone they already knew is one of them.

Well, it could be tough to identify an INTJ from an INFJ, or even ISTJ.

However, I will show you some of interesting signs that will help you to identify an INTJ

wherever you meet them.

1 - INTJ at Super Market or Shopping Center

Whenever they go to supermarket, typically they don't want to tarry or remain for a long

time.

They often come with a handfull list of items they want to buy, or they just come to buy

what they want and then go.

Well, you could detect this behaviour if they come to the store quite often and you recognize

them everytime they came.

This is due to the fact that they do not like to stay in crowded places any longer than

required, they grab and go, and also avoid engaging any conversation in any way.

That's most INTJs will more likely do than other personality types.

If a salesperson approaches them and ask them something to help them, they will likely be

a little annoyed and state whatever they should urge them to go away.

They avoid any unnecessary eye contact with any other people they encounter along the

way as much as possible, and they do what they need as fast as possible.

And above all things, they would prefer to buy anything online if it's possible.

2 - INTJ in The Workplace

More than anything, INTJs constantly try to tackle intellectually interesting work with

minimal outside interference, no more, no less.

Time-consuming management techniques like meetings, dragged out, or any other distraction

are just going to irritate INTJs.

All they require is to fulfill their objectives with the highest requirement of technological

excellence and to be bordered by, if anybody, people that share those values.

And, often they want to do it as fast as possible.

3 - Known as, Resting Bitch Face (also known as the "Death Stare").

Once you recognize Myers Briggs for quite some times, you will understand the words

"Death Stare" or "resting bitch face" for INTJ.

INTJs often get question like, "why so serious?" , or any similar words by concerned or intimidated

colleagues and relative.

So, if you often see someone you know with that kind of face, they are possibly an INTJ.

And most of the times, their look of displeasure is nothing like their "thinking face".

You may find them looking off in some direction when they are actually in a deep of mental

processing.

Sure, we don't know what they mean, but by the look of it, we can at least sure that

they are INTJs.

In some cases, if they are not aware that they are being watched, you may get them quietly

mouthing words as if they have a discussion with themselves.

At the same time, "Death Stare", "resting bitch face", or whatever they might be, each

of these expressions may show up angry or alarmed, but generally, there is no emotion

behind them.

Most likely they don't have any clue on how serious their expressions could be to the

others, they just do without any consideration, and because that's their true characteristic.

They often forget their surrounding while concentrating into their deep thoughts, just

like the typical architect do.

They may put their eyes into something, while they are not actually looking at it.

They are looking through, far more than simply what's in front of their eyes, people and

other things just occur to be in the line of their stare.

Even more, INTJs rarely reveal their anger when they're provoked, so probably they are

not mad at some points.

However, when you know them enough, you will recognize their emotional state right away.

4 - INTJs Prefer Quite Environtments More Than Anything.

INTJs are peaceful individual, they're okay with saying nothing where others would be

obliged to disrupt the tranquility with conversation.

INTJs have no worry keeping to themselves even while sharing a tiny room with someone

(let say, on an airplane or bus) as if there is nothing disturbing them.

They probably just show their death stare most of the time.

They enjoy their time while being alone and may not even bother to conceal themselves

in their cell phone or pretend to be busy on something.

They just stay quite and enjoy as it is.

And I already told you, that person who sit by themselves with a resting bitch face is

most likely an INTJ.

In that case, you don't need to worry because they're okay.

As when out in public, INTJs will likely try to blend in with people and stay under the

radar, they don't demand any attention towards them.

But on the contrary, they actually enjoy if their friends are being the center of attention,

due to the fact that they will have most of the time to observe and learn.

In many cases, The INTJs are well suited with ENFPs who could provide a social lubricating

substance that helps INTJs meet and get on with new people.

5 - INTJ Fashion Style.

INTJs will most likely favor simple and practical style.

They love something minimalists and also less likely to be found wearing elegant accessories

that will lead them to some attention.

Many of INTJs prefer wearing simple cloths like cargo pants and turtlenecks.

They prefer to dress in simple attire that looks organized and respectable.

They prefer jeans and dark shades and also black and white is probably their most recommended

shades.

Some may use light but chilly tones such as blue, and in most cases they could use variations

of the very same ensemble on a daily basis.

Their closet selections have the tendency to adhere to a constant motif and is indicated

to prevent drawing too much attention.

As Judgers, INTJs are more likely to clothe effectively and might also be rather fashionable

and edgy.

It's a toss-up for this type, however they do have the tendency to dress better compared

to their gauche NTP cousins.

What YouTube Partnership Program Changes mean for #SmallYoutubers | The good, the bad and the ugly - Duration: 10:11.

Well this certainly changes some things...

You know sometimes life just throws you curveballs, or lemons, or lemon curveballs

apparently... Last week, YouTube announced some changes to its Partnership Program.

So, to bring you up to speed, here's what's changing. Creators with

over 10,000 lifetime views on their channel can currently apply to be a part

of what's called the YouTube Partnership Program. Now in this program, YouTube

gives you some more video creation features, as well as the ability to

monetize your videos. This is done through an ad sharing program where

YouTube gives you a cut of the ad revenue that they make by running ads on

your videos. Now there's no watch time requirement, no subscriber requirements,

and it's a relatively low bar for entry. But as of February 20th 2018, all of that

is changing. At that point moving forward, creators must have a thousand

subscribers on their channel, and four thousand hours of watch time, which is

240,000 minutes of people's eyeballs on your content within a 365 day window in

order to apply to be a part of the YouTube Partnership Program. Now YouTube

has pitched this as a thing that won't affect the majority of creators, and as a

way to deal with some of their "bad actors" and copyright violations they've

had running rampant on the platform lately. In its blog post about the change,

YouTube says: Though these changes will affect a significant number of channels,

99% of those affected were making less than $100 per year in the last year with

90% earning less than two dollars and fifty cents in the last month." Which

sounds ok right? It's only the hobby creators who aren't trying to be a part of

the big game anyway that this hurts. And if it makes the platform safer and less

prone to copyright violations then it's totally worth it. And in some ways, I

agree with this logic. I want the platform to be better and

safer too, but the lack of acknowledgment to some key ways that this

disproportionately affects smaller and newer creators is, quite frankly, just

really frustrating! I've explained some of the issues associated with this

policy shift in great detail in a recent medium blog post - link is in the

description - but as this is about YouTube I thought I should, you know, make

a video about these policy changes, what you need to know, and how this affects

creators moving forward. First off, I want to talk about feelings. We small creators

feel really disenfranchised, let down, and like YouTube is pulling the rug out from

under us. They've changed the rules mid game and it's a blatant judgment from

YouTube that our content is not valuable to them because it doesn't make them

money. Which kind of stings. It's kind of like running a 5k and when you're like

50 meters from what you thought was the finish line, you find out that the race

directors have actually moved the finish line another 5k up the road...oh and there

aren't any more water stations either. So yeah, it all feels kind of crappy. But

this is about way more than just feelings. On the money side of things,

there's been this kind of toxic idea floating around created by YouTube, and

perpetuated by some of the larger creators, that says "well these smaller

creators weren't making any money anyway, so what's the big deal?" Yeah we're aware

we're not making any money...also not the point. So the way the system works

currently, you can see the pennies of ad revenue creep up over time and when you

reach $100 YouTube cuts you a check. Woohoo! The argument is that these new

standards are pretty much equivalent to that hundred dollar mark, and so if you

weren't hitting these metrics, than you weren't making money anyway. But here's

where the issue of pacing comes in. So I've been monetizing this channel for

about a year to a year and a half or so. Over that time, I've watched the money

trickle up to a grand whopping total of $60. Now, 60 bucks is not much in the

grand scheme of things, but I'd probably be hitting that hundred dollar mark at

some point this year, which is pretty motivating. But these new changes require

a higher level of watch time within the last year, and prevent this slow and

steady accrual of pennies over several years. So if I wanted to keep on pace

with making a hundred dollars every year and a half or every two years I can't do

that anymore. And that hundred dollars every two, or three years might mean a

new piece of equipment or software to try something cool, it might mean helping

to pay a bill that month, or it might just be some extra walking around pocket

cash, but the point is it has value even if it's accrued over a longer time frame.

And this is where we come to the issue of time, which is perhaps my biggest beef

with this policy. So I work to upload videos about every two

weeks. And I haven't been completely consistent with that over the last

couple of years, partly because life is a thing, and because I've had other

priorities, but also because of production time. So in order to compete

with a lot of the other content that's on YouTube, I'm working long and hard on

my videos to make them as high-quality as possible. Now I do this to make my

content more discoverable on YouTube, and to be more friendly with the YouTube

algorithm, but I also do it because it's important to me to make high quality

content for my audience. But this shift to the yearly watch time requirement

means that I would have to MORE THAN TRIPLE my current yearly watch time

within a 365 day window in order to meet this new standard to qualify for YouTube

monetization. It effectively requires me to shift my entire strategy and go all

into YouTube in order to make that possible,

and frankly that's not always feasible for smaller creators like me who are

doing YouTube as a part of their larger creative endeavors. Now, as a corporate

business decision, and as a way to address some of the larger problems that

YouTube is facing, I completely understand this policy. But from the

perspective of a small creator, we just got shown the door and told that we're

not welcome here. Now the bar for entry into the "cool kids club" is too high for

most small creators, or for new creators to justify the cost. Frankly, I'll be

shocked if we don't see a steep decline in the number of new channels starting

over the next year because of this policy. The last major issue I have with

this policy centers around the idea of value. So with this change, older content

which has been making us a little bit of money in the background all the way

along, will cease making money going forward until we hit these new metrics

again. So YouTube has basically said "hey, so you know how do you were slowly

accruing money on that really great content you made on your channel a few

years ago? Yeah well we're gonna stop giving you money for that going forward.

Oh, and also, you're gonna have to work really hard on your channel for free

over the next year in order to have the opportunity to get paid for the same

content again...that's cool right?" No! Not cool! It's especially insulting because

it basically says your content was once valuable, but it's not anymore.

Which, okay, I get content may depreciate in value over time, but the slap in the

face is that the content will suddenly have

value again when we hit these completely arbitrary metrics that YouTube has

decided to hang its value hat on. Oh, and by the way, who's to say that if I bust

my butt to hit these new metrics that YouTube's not just gonna turn around and

change the rules again anyway? Okay, so I'm getting all worked up over this

again, so I'm gonna shift my focus a little bit to the question of: "okay, well

now what do we do?" So over the last week or so we've already seen this huge surge

in smaller creators mobilizing their communities to help each other out and

that's super awesome to see! These are just a few of the hashtags you can

follow on Twitter, and I'm sure there are similar ones on Instagram and Facebook,

that are leveraging the power of smaller communities to help increase subscriber

counts and watch times for those who are close to the new metrics. And here's why

don't really see myself leaving this space anytime soon. But some things may

change around here, and I'm not exactly sure what that's gonna look like moving

forward but I'll keep you posted as things develop. And honestly, the best way

Reducing Adjective Clauses to Adjective Phrases: Learn English Grammar with JenniferESL - Duration: 14:58.

Hi everybody! It's Jennifer here with a question to lead into our next grammar lesson.

What's more important to you when it comes to work?

Earning a lot of money?

Earning recognition?

Doing something for a good cause?

Growing personally and professionally?

Or doing what you love?

It's a question I've talked about with my brothers, one of whom had a professional hockey career.

My younger brother, now a hockey coach, remains an excellent skater.

His skill on the ice is something he worked on from a young age.

He never went on to earn millions in his professional career, but he was able to do what he loved for many years – play hockey.

Now he's passing his knowledge and skills on to young athletes interested in playing hockey at the highest level possible.

So what's the ideal job for you? Feel free to tell me what's important to you in the comments.

But here's the challenge. You need to use at least one adjective phrase.

What's that? It's a reduced adjective clause.

Reduced means there's less of something. So we shorten an adjective clause to get an adjective phrase.

Remember a clause has a subject and a verb. A phrase doesn't.

We only do reduce an adjective clause when the relative pronoun is the subject.

And we can only reduce the adjective clause when the relative pronoun is WHICH, THAT, or WHO.

The easiest way to reduce a clause is to remove the relative pronoun and any form of the verb BE.

You might be left with a noun phrase, a prepositional phrase, or a present or past participle.

Look at these examples.

Notice how we keep the commas if there are any.

Here's the next example.

Notice how this reduced adjective clause doesn't need commas.

If there isn't a form of BE in the adjective clause, then we change the main verb to a present participle.

Again, we take out the relative pronoun.

Watch how I reduce this adjective clause.

You try. I'll give you an adjective clause. Reduce it to an adjective phrase if possible.

I'll give you six practice sentences.

Can we reduce the adjective clause?

The relative pronoun WHO is the subject of the adjective clause.

Let's remove it...and the form of BE.

Here's our new sentence with an adjective phrase.

First, find the adjective clause.

What's the relative pronoun?

Whose.

So can we make an adjective phrase?

No. It's not possible to reduce this adjective clause.

First, find the adjective clause.

What's the relative pronoun?

Is it the subject?

Yes. So let's reduce this clause.

Our new sentence with an adjective phrase is...

First, find the adjective clause.

What's the relative pronoun?

Is it the subject?

Yes, it is. Let's reduce this clause.

And here's our new sentence with an adjective phrase.

Do you see the adjective clause?

It should be easy to spot. Commas set it off.

And how about the relative pronoun?

Is it the subject?

It is. So it is possible to reduce this adjective clause. Try it.

Our new sentence is...

The adjective clause is set off by commas again, so it's very easy to spot.

How about the relative pronoun?

Is it the subject?

No. The subject of the clause is the Pittsburgh Penguins,

so it's not possible to reduce this adjective clause.

I hope you're feeling more confident about reducing adjective clauses to adjective phrases.

Remember that not every clause can reduce, and we don't have to reduce every adjective clause.

We sometimes use adjective phrases to be more concise, especially in our writing.

Would you reduce any of these clauses? Don't just think about the rules. Think about what sounds clear and natural.

In sentence A, we could reduce the adjective clause.

But then we'll also have to change the word order.

Let's move the adjective before the noun.

Let's say...

Sentence B. I wouldn't try to reduce this clause.

Let's keep it as is. It's clearer that way.

Sentence C. We could certainly reduce this clause.

Let's say...

That's clear and concise.

Sentence D. We could leave it or reduce it.

If we reduce the clause to a phrase, we'll have...

Here's another thought I have on finding the ideal job. I want you to listen closely for my use of adjective clauses.

How many adjective clauses did you catch?

Here's the first.

Note that I didn't repeat the relative pronoun that with the second verb "gives."

If you have longer ideas, then you might repeat the relative pronoun to make it all clear for your audience.

Here's the second adjective clause.

I kind of have two adjective clauses put together.

The first full clause could be written like this.

There also has to be sufficient financial reward, which is a fact.

But I reduced that clause, and I'm left with a noun phrase: a fact.

Now I need to identify the fact, so I follow with a full clause.

...a fact which we may not be encouraged to talk about.

This pattern in non-restrictive adjective clauses is more common in writing than in speaking because it sounds formal.

"A fact which" is by far the most common example, but other nouns fit into this structure.

Here's one more example.

Trump Unveils Brand New White House Addition� Slams Liberals for Gov�t Shutdown

The federal government entered a partial shutdown over the weekend after Senate Democrats, under

the guidance of Minority Leader Chuck Schumer, blocked a short-term funding bill.

The #SchumerShutdown was ushered in by Democrats as part of a bid to force action on the soon-to-expire

Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals program, even though no DACA legislation yet exists

and the deadline to fix it isn�t until March.

Even the predominately liberal media couldn�t avoid noting that Democrats were to blame

for the shutdown, but President Donald Trump�s White House sought to unmistakably drive that

point home, according to The Daily Caller.

On Sunday, people who called the White House public comment line were greeted with an unusual

recorded message which explained why their call couldn�t be answered, and made it abundantly

clear that the Senate Democrats were responsible for the inconvenience.

�Thank you for calling the White House,� the recorded message began, according to CNN.

�Unfortunately, we cannot answer your call today because congressional Democrats are

holding government funding, including funding for our troops and other national security

priorities, hostage to an unrelated immigration debate,� the message continued.

�Due to this obstruction, the government is shut down.�

�In the meantime, you can leave a comment for the president at www.whitehouse.gov/contact.

We look forward to taking your calls as soon as the government reopens,� the message

concluded.

For those who are interested, the White House�s �Get Involved� page lists the number for

the public comments line as (202)456-1111.

An email address and a physical address is also provided for those who prefer to write

a letter to the president.

Fortunately, that special message from the White House only ran for about one day, as

Schumer and his comrades �blinked� on Monday, according to Politico, and agreed

to end the shutdown with virtually nothing gained on their end save bad publicity for

disrupting government operations.

�I think the fact they are voting in favor of this proposal that they rejected a few

days ago is sort of evidence that they blinked,� White House deputy press secretary Raj Shah

told a CNN reporter Monday afternoon.

Shah added that President Trump was willing to engage in negotiations with Democrats in

regard to DACA and strengthening border security once everything was up and running again,

but noted that the bipartisan bill brought to him days prior to the shutdown by Democrat

Sen. Dick Durbin and Republican Sen. Lindsey Graham was essentially a non-starter that

wouldn�t garner his support.

�The Graham-Durbin proposal is not a proposal the president can sign,� Shah said of the

proposed bill that ignored or skirted around all of the major issues Trump demanded be

addressed, such as funding for the border wall and an end to chain migration.

For his part, Schumer attempted to label the disruption as the �Trump Shutdown� and

sought to frame the president as both intransigent and disengaged throughout the whole ordeal,

even going so far as to claim, �The great dealmaking president sat on the sidelines,�

a characterization Shah vigorously disputed.

�We think the president�s engagement was right, was properly set forward, and it helped

reopen the government today,� Shah stated.

The three-day government shutdown was the fault of Democrats and Democrats alone, and

that fact was made crystal clear by the message on the White House public comment line over

the weekend.

and some snacks let's explore over here I guess they have like the Easter stuff

in there as well that's cute I don't work home saying this we don't decorate

for st. Patrick's Day but you know we love to

celebrate something so I might oh my goodness

this oh that's gonna be so cute for springtime gonna cute little Easter eggs

oh this is gonna be so cute for Zara's little cuz I'm gonna decorate the

TV for spring of course and over here we have some more st. Patrick's Day stuff

oh look at this this is new yeah I think them ever work for you so it's a little

necklace and I'm sure that it lights up this part there's some little hats

headbands all this is new and super cute yes

headband and I saw this stuff before I just love these little shamrocks you

want to put on the headband primarily because of the glitter and then we have

some scarves over here

and some more goodies over here this head I had this one year I was like my

backdrop I like this one okay you want to wear this one okay hold on sorry

I had to loop back around then I saw these their little buttons little pins

you can put on your jacket or your book bag or something and these bracelets

yeah we just have some flower pots alone I thought that was a really tall them

but they're just stacked in there and oh we saw these beautiful little garden

stones oh this is a new one this year I saw that one in the last Dollar Tree

these are just so sparkly and cute I don't know if this is new but I don't

recall things spider-man stuff in the party section these are little tree bags

they have the candles and some cute little spin straws anything

else spider-man oh they have Turtles

yeah I don't causing these candles and in the other dollar tree that is

Minnie or Mickey I always get them mixed up and again like I said before Dollar

Tree has awesome gift bags different sizes all that there's a spider-man one

paw patrol My Little Pony yeah these are new there's even an one yes that

is paw patrol and behind there they have a title on cars head Mickey Mouse

oh I'm not gonna show her that one minions Wow

look you guys this is new goofy putty bounces stretches maybe I'll show

this or share this when I do the dollar tree slime video

I'm so excited it look it pulls up a newsprint hmm yeah definitely want to

give that a try oh look at this little basket of puzzles this might be

this is definitely more like toddler friendly

ink and then they have like the solid colored ones right even this is

really cute it's like little crystals in there okay so the other dollar trees

were fully packed with these looks like we came at the last minute but these are

all chap sticks and they're like different brands okay so over here found

another really nice notebooks and notepads and stuff these are just

composition books yes books this is a an amazing score at Dollar Tree you guys

these are the dry eraser markers and they have the magnets on them so these

are nice for her little dry erase board and refrigerator we're gonna get a pack

I found another emoji Washington we don't have this one it never wants to

focus yes are you wearing back boots today oh this is the other one right

there my look you guys they have some

more new ones never seen that one before I think I saw

this one and then we just see this I can't remember if we didn't that's new

and we saw that one before and the rest are repeats well it looks like we have

some more notebooks these are like the smaller ones is this a planner oh no it

was just like a sketchbook I was gonna say a look really nice stuff in

here oh I could picture this inside of a valentine's day gift basket I think we

saw this at the last Dollar Tree but this is my dream okay so it's I thought

it was a notebook but it's a notepad same thing with a pin you loved all the

cheese stationery stuff these are just paper clips oh you know what I could use

this for my cookbook some correction pins oh look a little rubber you

push pins that's cute when did they start selling lid refills

okay you know what I think I saw these in here during back-to-school time and

then they have the correction tape for these paints or stickers or magnets have

any of you all tried this mounting tape does it hold well I would love to know

because if so this is an amazing by this is an amazing by you guys

Elmer's glue glue sticks 2 for $1 that's really good as well as this I've seen

this at Hobby Lobby for I don't know close to $2 so this is a really good buy

in here and you guys know we always see the bottles the gloss one in

the one and these are really good buy as well oh my goodness you guys

these are new oh this is a huge this is double the size that they normally have

at Dollar Tree wonder what cool little creations okay there's a black one I'm

trying to pull it out but it's stuck but yeah I wonder what cool things people

Monster Jam and then they are some these are the big stickers and then you

guys know from the last Dollar Tree trip Dollar Tree has new glam these are

the new six colors and check out my last Dollar Tree haul because I shared all of

the colors there well not all of them but the ones I picked up these are new

stickers as well

this right here which is also and has bubble wrap on the inside get one over

here we have some little spring figurines we've seen those before then

we have some lanterns oil some candle holders more candle holders

Indian Spiced Healthy Plum Chutney | Aloo Bukhara Chutney | Aloo bukharay ki Chatni | - Duration: 5:13.

Hey, what's up everyone? welcome back to SpicesNFlavors. So today

We are gonna make a sweet and spicy and tangy a different chutney recipe

That goes well with all kinds of dosas idlis or even phulkas or maybe even along with your chaats

This recipe also has a lot of nutritional benefits. Yes

We are making the most famous shaadi wale aloo bukharay ki chutney or

plums chutney

On to my saucepan I have taken up some clumps that I have chopped finely or say quartered

to that I'm gonna add in some jaggery and

some dates

You could also use regular sugar here, but we all know jaggery and dates are good for our health

I will switch on the flame on medium heat and give this a stir

To this I'm gonna add in a dried red chilli and some freshly grated ginger

I am planning to give this to my little one who is just 2 years old now

So I have kept the level of spice little less here. You could however adjust it as per your family needs

Close it with a lid and cook it on medium flame for another 15 to 20 minutes

Do remember to give it a stir in between Or else it might get burnt from the bottom?

It's been 15 minutes now the plums have almost softened

We need to cook it a bit more

But before that let's season it up

because plums are naturally sweet and so on

I'll do a taste test now just ensure that everything is up to the mark, and adjust the seasoning accordingly

Found that it was a little too sour, so I went ahead and added little more jaggery along with that

I'll be adding some rock salt some regular salt to taste and

Then some cumin powder and some nutmeg powder

I also found that the level of spiciness was not enough so I went ahead and added just about

1/8 teaspoon of red chili powder this is optional you can adjust it as per your needs give it a final stir

Close with the lid and cook it for another five minutes

The plums have almost dissolved and softened now the color itself is looking so beautiful

We didn't add any artificial colors here. It is from the natural plums

Switch off the gas and let it cool completely then grind it to a smooth paste without adding any water

After grinding transfer it to a clean glass container

To this we are going to add in some sesame seeds that I have dry roasted for about a minute or so

Dry roasting the sesame seeds would increase its shelf life nothing else

to this I'm gonna add in some vinegar and

mix everything we'll

Now adding the vinegar will ensure that this chutney stays fresh and good for up to 2 to 3 months in the refrigerator

But if you are planning to make a small batch of this chutney

Then you can skip the vinegar instead and use the chutney within 2 to 3 days

Using just 10 plums we got such a good amount of chutney

Then it is always advisable to add in just a teaspoon of vinegar so that it remains fresh for a longer time

You can also use dry plums here in place of fresh ones

Just remember to soak it for some time before proceeding with the recipe

Just close it with a lid and put it in your refrigerator for two to three months and use as and when needed I?

Medieval Grooming Tools - Duration: 4:39.

Hi, I'm Danièle Cybulskie, The Five-Minute Medievalist, and today we're going to look

at some medieval grooming tools.

There's a common misconception that medieval people weren't all that interested in hygiene,

which doesn't make sense really, for a couple of reasons.

Number one, feeling clean feels good.

This is the big reason why medieval people who were religious and bent on mortifying

the flesh wore vermin-covered hair shirts next to their skin - it's because it felt

awful, and that was the point.

(Is anyone else feeling a little bit itchy right about now?)

The other reason is that being clean and well-groomed helps you attract a mate because it makes

it look like your genes are really good.

I wrote an article for Medievalists.net that shows just five medieval toothpaste recipes,

which shows that people were interested in smelling great to attract mates.

Today, we're going to look at just a couple of the grooming tools that I've come across

in my travels over the last few months.

I took these pictures with my iPhone, so you might actually see the reflection of my feet

a couple times.

This first picture that we're looking was taken at The Cloisters museum in New York,

which is affiliated with The Met museum, although The Cloisters is specifically dedicated just

to the Middle Ages.

This is a liturgical comb, and it's called a liturgical comb because it was used for

priests to comb their hair before they performed the liturgy or the mass.

This one kind of resembles a modern comb in that there are wider teeth, and there are

narrower teeth.

The wider teeth were for grooming.

The narrower teeth were for - you guessed it: nit-picking.

To take out lice and the eggs of lice that might have been hiding somewhere in the priest's

hair or beard.

Here are a couple of Viking combs, that are made out of antler or bone.

You can find these ones at the Viking Exhibit at the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, Ontario.

These combs are in a little bit rougher shape, and they're a little bit different from the

liturgical comb in that these are made out of three pieces that would have been riveted

together.

At the Viking Exhibit, you can see a couple of other cool grooming tools, like these.

These are bronze tweezers.

Now, when I was a kid, I used tweezers mostly to pull out splinters, and it's possible that

the Vikings did the same thing, but we all know that tweezers can also be used for pulling

out unsightly hairs.

For the Vikings, hair and beards were a point of pride, so it makes sense that we would

find tweezers like these in a hoard (like the one on the left) or a grave (like the

pair on the right).

Everyone knows you have to look your best in Valhalla.

These little babies might be my favourite grooming tools at the ROM, though.

They are ear spoons, and they were used for exactly what you'd think they'd be used for:

scooping out ear wax.

Now, you could use your finger for that, but that would be a little bit uncouth and not

as efficient.

So, you could carve your own out of antler or bone (like this one) or you could get yourself

a fancy silver one, like the one below.

Naturally, the silver one would have been a prized possession, which is why it has a

loop on it - so you could attach it to something and not lose it.

The owner of this one felt it important enough that it was buried with them.

Finally, heading back to The Cloisters again, we have a water jug.

These water jugs were called aquamanilia - which is basically Latin for water and hands.

Believe it or not, medieval people did wash their hands before dinner, and they considered

it completely uncouth if you didn't.

This is my favourite water jug.

It's got a dragon, and a man who has somehow found himself halfway-in, halfway-out of the

dragon's mouth.

Of course, there are plenty of other grooming tools that would have been used in the Middle

Ages, like wash bowls and toothpicks, but these are just a few of my favourites.

And it's interesting to see how closely they resemble the same type of things that we use

today.

Florida's Finest Criminals #1 of 2018 - Duration: 16:24.

Hey guys, it's me, Maggie J, finally back to making videos, and my goodness there are

so many things I have to tell you.

December and January have been full of people just dying to be featured on Florida's Finest.

I will let you know, I probably have about 45 stories here,

but because I like you, I'm not gonna make you sit through all that.

I'm gonna divide up the videos, and here is part 1 of Florida's Finest #1 for 2018

A highlight of the kind of behavior we expect out of our fellow Floridian's.

Florida Man Rigs Door To Electrocute Wife

The father of a Palm Coast woman contacted

authorities after his son-in-law made some strange statements and then apparently skipped town.

Michael Scott Wilson warned his father-in-law to keep the children away from his front door,

which is a very specific request, so the father-in-law contacted the Flagler County Sheriff.

When they arrived, they noted burn marks on the door Wilson had warned about, and when a Deputy

kicked it open, they saw a large spark.

Inside they found jumper cables hooked to the handle and the deadbolt, so anyone who

touched the metal, or completed the circuit, would be electrocuted.

Upon further investigation, Deputies discovered Wilson had stolen a gun from the father-in-law's

home and fled to Tennessee, sometime after the warning about the door.

The story is a little vague about when he actually disappeared.

But he was definitely arrested in Knoxville and admitted to setting the trap for his estranged wife.

He is being charged with two counts of attempted aggravated battery on a pregnant person and

one count of grand theft of a firearm.

He will be extradited to Flagler County and is probably there by now.

I hope they're going to keep him behind bars while waiting to go to trial.

He's just stupid enough to hurt someone.

Florida Man Calls 9-1-1 Because His Clams Were Too Small

The Stuart Police Department received two emergency phone calls from Nelson Agosto of

Port Saint Lucie, who was at Crabby's Seafood Shack, and very upset about the size of the

clams he'd been served.

A deputy was dispatched, not to investigate the size of the clams, but to cite Agosto

for misuse of the emergency system.

Agosto claims he "didn't know the rules of 9-1-1"

If you've got a problem with the size of someone's clams, you take it up with them directly, sir.

Who raised you?

Some sort of whiny tattletale?

You only paid twelve dollars for a whole plate of clams, what were you expecting!

*Side note: I have no clue how much clams should cost, but for a seafood dinner to cost

Florida Man Punches ATM, Then Tattles On Himself

Michael John Oleksik was reportedly in a hurry to get to work,

and when he requested money out of the ATM machine, he must've pushed

the wrong dollar amount button, because he claims the machine gave him too much money.

Unsure of what to do about it, and still needing to get to work, Oleksik punched the ATM's

touch screen and headed on about his day.

Later, he phoned the bank and admitted what he'd done, so Wells Fargo pressed charges

because he did $5,000 in damages!

The bank was kind enough to mention, had Oleksik not phoned, they probably wouldn't have known

who the ATM vandal was.

Way to go bro!

Florida Man Reports Himself As A Drunk Driver

A Winter Haven 9-1-1 operator got more than

she expected when she answered a call from Michael Lester on New Year's Eve.

Apparently, Lester had been driving around Winter Haven all night, "trying to get pulled over."

Must be why he called 9-1-1.

Anyway, he couldn't tell the operator where he was, but said he was pulling over to get

something to eat and "they can catch up with me."

Sounds like a man with a plan to me.

Polk County Sheriff's did not disclose where they found Lester, but when they did he admitted

he'd had two beers, but later changed it to four.

He claims he had also slept for only four hours in the last four days, and had eaten some meth.

Boy this guy was a big ol' mess, I'm glad he called the cops on himself, who knows how

long it would've taken them to find him, driving drunkely all across Winter Haven and all.

But, all's well that ends well.

This drunk is in jail and the police get the easiest collar of the year.

Good job everybody!

Florida Woman Claims She Was Unaware Her Car Was Full Of Drugs

Lot of clueless criminals we've got this week!

Sharymar Judith Santana of Green Acres was stopped on the Florida Turnpike for a tint

violation, and inside the vehicle police found what no woman with two children in the back

seat should ever be caught with.

A whole bunch of drugs!

Troopers reported they smelled a strong odor of marijuana inside the car, and when asked,

the driver did not object to a search of her car.

She said her husband is also a driver of the car, and a friend named "Smoke" helped her

to pack up the car that day.

In the trunk they found 11 pounds of marijuana, 4.5 pounds of hash powder, and more than a

pound of cocaine, along with some hash oil and mushrooms.

This woman was about to throw the greatest party in Florida history!

Now, there's no way in hell this woman could have denied knowing about the marijuana, her

car reeked of it, and that aroma is very hard to mistake, but the rest of the drugs, perhaps

she didn't know about it.

Maybe Smoke put all that stuff in her trunk.

Maybe her husband didn't remember leaving thousands of dollars worth of various drugs

in the family car.

Maybe he didn't care enough to protect his family from possible search and seizure.

Either way, this woman is definitely in trouble and is facing charges of felony possession

of cocaine and marijuana, cocaine trafficking, and possession of a hallucinogen.

Good luck Santana.

Guys, you gotta stop putting that dark ass tint on your car if you're going to be up to illegal activities.

Are you really the kind of criminal who wants to go down for their tint being too dark?

Come on now!

Here's another shoulda-known-better story, starring yet another Florida Woman

Taylor Bennett of Bradenton failed to obey the state's "Move Over" law, requiring drivers

to move over one lane when an emergency vehicle has their lights flashing, so she was pulled

over for the violation.

Deputies noted her car smelled of air freshener and that the backseat was folded down, exposing

the inside of ther trunk.

Bennett handed over an Indiana learner's permit along with the car's registration, and when

deputies returned to her car, they noticed the backseat was no longer laying down.

Bennett allowed a search of her vehicle and inside the trunk was a backpack , a scale,

a jar with more than 7 ounces of marijuana inside, a box of sandwich baggies, and $1,747

in cash.

She is being charged with possession of marijuana with intent to sell, and was cited for violating

her learner's permit and failing to move over.

FYI January is "Move Over" Month in Florida and the push is on to get people to comply.

So be extra careful out there on the roads, don't carry all your weed and cocaine stash with you,

don't tint your windows too dark, don't forget to move over for emergency signals,

aand use your ******* turn signals.

I can't stress that enough!

Florida Man Carrying Much More Than Stolen Ribs In His Pants

Maeli Alvarez-Aguilar was suspected of stuffing a rack of ribs into his pants and walking

out of the Rines Market IGA store in Martin County.

When stopped by a deputy, Alvarez-Aguilar removed a rack of ribs from his pants, but

a further search uncovered an entire picnic hiding in those pants.

Nine pieces of fried chicken, two packs of hamburger buns and a container of mashed potatoes

were also recovered and Aguilar-Alvarez was charged with petty merchant theft.

Those must have been some magical pants.

I hope he wasn't heading to a party and everyone was waiting for him to arrive.

I'd be so pissed if I showed up expecting some ribs, and there was no food....

Never invite me over if there's not going to be food.

That's just rude.

Florida Man Jumped Off A Bridge To Escape Drunk Florida Woman

An unidentified man in Jupiter was traveling in a car with his girlfriend, and she must've

been on a hell of a bitch fest.

At some point, she started hitting the man while he was driving, and yanked the steering wheel.

The car swerved into a concrete bridge barrier and stopped.

The man then exited the vehicle, drunk woman follwing behind, and the man took a route

he hoped she wouldn't follow.

Over the side of the bridge.

He swam to a nearby park, and as the article specificed, ESCAPED!

Good on ya, bro!!!

I don't know if I would've went over a bridge to get away, but I understand.

The drunk woman, also unidentified, was taken to jail, but it's not specified for what.

Sometimes I get only pieces of very good stories and they're just too good not to share.

Florida Woman Not Enthused By Dancing

Nancy Wolfeich of Cocoa was not pleased when she saw another woman

"dancing on top of her fiancee and spreading her legs" on December 31st.

So she allegedly punched the other woman in the face.

Nancy claims she did not punch the other woman, but was later quoted saying

"Next time I see that bitch I'm going to beat her ass again"

So I think we all know for a fact, Nancy kept her hands to herself all night long.

She headed to jail on battery charges anyway.

Good job Nance.

Might I point out that you left your man behind, with the dancing woman, and now you'll never

know what happened after you left.

I bet that'll drive you crazy you insecure bitch.

Florida Man Goes To The Bank For A Burrito

We don't know exactly what Douglas Francisco

was up to before heading out for a burrito, but it left him significantly impaired.

When he got to the Taco Stand, aka, the Bank of America, he went through the drive-through

lanes, and passed the hell out.

The bank manager went outside to bang on this guy's window for a bit, and when Francisco

finally woke up, was very disappointed to learn there were no burritos.

When police arrived, he agreed to participate in field sobriety exercises, and succeeded

in failing every single one of them.

Hernando County Deputies escorted Francisco to the jail, charging him with driving while

under the influence.

Due to the oxycodone and xanax he had on him at the time, deputies assume the prescribed

pills were to blame for the impairment.

Ooh this is a good one!

Florida Writer Calls 9-1-1 About Spider-Wife

Friggin Spider-wife yall!

On January 17th, William Rutger of Tarpon Springs contacted 9-1-1 to ask that his wife

be given a mental health evaluation, against her will, because she had become a spider.

Operators took him for a joke and sent no responders, until almost 2 hours later, when

Rutger called back, insisting that his wife was still a black widow spider.

Pinellas County Deputies were sent to the home and found Rutger, smelling strongly of

alcohol and behaving like he was impaired.

You can tell by his eyes he'd had a lot, and maybe that's why he saw his wife as a spider.

Or maybe his wife is a spider and if you're drunk enough, you can see through the spell

she's put on herself.

On a side note, William Rutger is a published writer, his book from 2009 is titled "The

Alcoholic's Guide To Adventure" and is touted as "a lighthearted jaunt into the sublime

world of drunken decadence."

I'm hoping we get a new novel out of this adventure, maybe he'll call it,

"My Wife Turned Into A Spider and I'm The One Going To Jail".

Florida Woman Employs Her Child To Hold A Box Of Drugs

Mersades McFaulds of Summerfield was pulled over with her husband and three children,

and says she knew her license was suspended.

During the traffic stop, they found out her husband's license was also suspended, so McFaulds

was arrested and her family sent home on foot.

While walking away, an officer noticed one of the children carrying a wooden box with

a padlock on it, and when asked what was inside, the kid said "Notes."

Now, I'm not sure on the legalities of what happened next, but a key was found inside

the vehicle and they used it to open the lock on the box.

Inside they found a credit card with McFaulds' name, a bag of pills that tested positive

for methamphetamine, two bags of heroin, an amount of marijuana, several needles, a spoon,

a scale, and plastic baggies.

Of course.

McFaulds, on top of driving with a suspended license with knowlege, is also being charged

with causing a child to committ and act of delinquency and possession of the illegal

items in the box.

I can only hope DCF was at the house when the family arrived home on foot.

Florida Woman Pulls Officer Into Her Vehicle, Discharges His Weapon

And not in the dirty way!

Danielle Trudell was passed out in her SUV in a parking lot on Markham Woods Road in

Seminole County.

When a Sheriff's deputy approached, Trudell woke up and tried to drive away, but the officer

reached inside the vehicle, presumably to turn it off.

Trudell grabbed the officer and pulled him partially through the window, then reached

for his weapon and managed to fire it, while it was still inside the holster.

The officer was able to overpower Trudell and got her out of the vehicle and into cuffs.

His gun was rendered inoperable, since the holster prevented the bullet from exiting

the barrel.

Inside the vehicle were bags of white powder that tested positive for fentanyl, and various

unspecificed paraphernalia.

Trudell is being charged with aggravated assault with a weapon, resisting an officer with violence,

and drug charges for the fentanyl.

Lucky this wasn't one of those zombie drug addicts, the kind you can't take down with

a truck full of tasers.

I'm relieved the officer wasn't hurt during the struggle.

People are just so unpredictable, and that is why I can never sign up to be a cop.

Florida Cop Unexpectedly Picks Up Hooker

Rebecca McLoon of Lake Wales approached a car at a red light in Polk County.

She motioned the driver to roll the window down, then got into the passenger seat, and

asked the driver if he wanted to smoke.

The guy asked her to get out of his vehicle, so she asked if he was a cop,

to which he said yes.

Then she laughed, andwhipped a crack pipe out of her waistband, and said she knew a place

they could get something to smoke.

At that point, the driver, who is an actual detective, drove into a parking lot and tried

to cuff the woman in the passenger seat.

She put up a fight, tossing the crack pipe, but the Detective handled her quickly and

recovered the evidence.

When other, on-duty officers arrived, they asked McLoon if she was turning tricks, which

is slang for prostituting, and she replied "Yeah, I wanted a trick, but I sure didn't

get a treat."

McLoon is being charged with trespassing in an occupied conveyance, resisting an officer

without violence, possession of drug paraphernalia, possesion of cocaine, and tampering with evidence.

Man this lady know how to party.

And she's kind of got the best last name in Polk County, McLoon!

"Sand Flea Jesus" Has Been Caught!

Melbourne Police have had a number of stolen animal crimes lately, and they are blaming

a man who they call "Sand Flea Jesus" due to his Jesus-y appearance and tendency to

live among the sea grapes.

His real name is Nicholas Alvoy, and he is suspected of being a pet-nabbing nuisance

for months, making off with a ball python that he released into a nursery, a cat from

the Aloha Pet & Bird Hospital, and even someone's identity.

He is being charged with petty theft, criminal mischief, and wildlife violations for setting

free a non-native animal.

You can rest easier, pet-enthusiasts of Melbourne.

We got him.
