How To Grow Your Fanbase On YouTube - Duration: 5:25.
How do you build a base of loyal fans that subscribe and continue to remain
active on your YouTube channel? Anyone can watch a video but not everyone will
subscribe and continue to be active on your channel. Did you know that
subscribers tend to watch twice as much video as non subscribers? So how do you
build a base of loyal fans on YouTube? In this video I'm gonna share 7 ways to
build a community of loyal fans on YouTube. Hello my name is Herman Drost
from drostdesigns.com if you want to grow your audience on YouTube and
generate traffic leads and subscribers on autopilot hit the subscribe button or
hit the bell notification icon. How do you define a loyal fan? They'll binge
watch your videos they'll share your content with others without being asked
to. They'll purchase your products and services. Here are 7 ways to grow your
fanbase on YouTube number one be authentic authenticity creates a deeper
connection with your subscribers so they'll become your loyal fans share
your personal journey on YouTube how did you come to be on YouTube and share your
passion have a mission statement about what you believe for example I firmly
believe that can I help people grow their audience on YouTube and generate traffic
leads and subscribers on autopilot think about catch phrases or special words that
identify you to your audience number two create awesome content
most people will become your loyal fans because they love your content
how can you capitalize on that? Instead of creating one tutorial on a specific
topic create a series of videos that goes deeper into the topic your fans
will love this because they're getting valuable content also create videos on
unique topics that nobody has tackled yet or nobody has gone into depth about
if you continue to upload content that offers value to subscribers they'll
become your biggest fans number three be consistent have you ever watched a TV
series where you couldn't wait to tune in every week when you have a consistent upload
schedule every week your subscribers will know what to expect for example I
upload new videos every Monday Thursday and go live every Friday number 4
connect with your audience people love to interact and share their
stories some of the ways that you can interact with your audience is by
replying to comments
you can also like and heart the comments when you heart a comment it reengages
your audience because YouTube sends a notification to them if one of your fans
gives a great response to your videos in the comments pin that comment to the top
alternatively you can pin your own comment to the top by asking a question
to get the conversation going update your about page many visitors
will check out your about page to find out what you all about subscribe to fans
channels if you love the content of your fans subscribe their channels create a
thank-you video when you reach a certain milestone with your channel perhaps you
can create a thank-you video create a collab video perhaps there's a certain
topic you can collaborate on with your fans
this will help their channels to get more exposure survey your audience if
you get stuck for ideas about what you want to share with your audience survey
them another way to connect with your audience is to create a Facebook group
this enables fans to connect with you on a deeper level plus they can connect and
converse with each other YouTube recently introduced the community tab
which a few channels have already you can utilize the community tab by
creating polls sharing your videos sharing pictures etc this helps to build
and connect with your community number 5 utilize YouTube analytics if you go into
YouTube analytics and click the subscribe button it will help you
identify the videos that attract the most subscribers since these videos
attract the most subscribers create more videos on similar topics to gain more
subscribers identify your traffic sources. When you go into YouTube
analytics and click on traffic sources you can find out the age gender and the
country where your viewers are coming from this helps you to form a clearer
profile of your typical subscriber the more you know about the problems wants
and desires of your audience the more targeted can be your videos number 6
keep a positive viewpoint sometimes people post negative comments under your
videos other times people will include inappropriate words in their comments
so how can you keep a positive atmosphere in your comments create a
blocked words list or a blacklist of those words click the card icon to watch my
video on how to block or blacklist certain words on YouTube when these
words appear in your comments they'll automatically be filtered and what
appear to the public number seven go beyond YouTube
audience is probably using other social media platforms to engage in
conversations online therefore make sure you also have accounts on Facebook
Instagram and Twitter so you can engage with them there for
example I created a Facebook group that supplements my YouTube channel if you
want to become a member of my Facebook group Tube Video Boot Camp click the link
in the description below this video you'll be able to ask questions and
converse with other members in the group here are a few important things to keep
in mind recognize that each viewer is actually a person not just a number be
interested in your fans by interacting with them in the comments on YouTube and
other social media platforms when you engage with your audience multiple times
they'll get to know like and trust you and become your biggest fans if you want
to learn how to grow your audience on YouTube and generate traffic leads and
subscribers on autopilot click the subscribe button below and check out the

8 Reasons for Failing Your Road Test & Not Being Successful - Duration: 1:01:59.
[8 REASONS FOR FAILING YOUR ROAD TEST & NOT BEING SUCCESSFUL]
Hi there smart drivers. Rick with Smart Drive Test talking to you tonight about
eight reasons why drivers fail a road test. And this is regardless of class:
This is for passenger vehicles,. commercial vehicles - buses and trucks.
Welcome to the live stream, Smart Sunday number 24. I think we're up to 24 weeks when
we started this. And I finally got the live stream up to the quality that I
wanted it to be. it's actually quite good I'm quite impressed and Cory is doing an
excellent job in moderating and I want to congratulate him and as well Cory
thanks for showing up and I will get you caught up tonight I promise Cory sorry
I've been delayed on that Pablo is here Ivan is here Ryan is here
hi guys how are you everybody doing well we were delayed coming back from
Victoria today due to snow I came home and actually had two hours to shovel
over the driveway probably had six or seven inches of snow in the drive when
we got home big bunny boss he doesn't know anything about snow anymore they're
in Las Vegas since he moved from Keller Colorado big money boss did you manage
to get a new computer started oh you must have you're here on the live feed
so that's really great and it's interesting because down at the bottom
of the life here I've got a little statistic oh it jumped from 1 to 26 now
so there's 26 people watching yeah so because of the snow coming back from
Victoria back to Kelowna where I fly into from from to go to Vernon rather we
circled around for probably 90 minutes before we actually got before I actually
got landed because they had to plow the plow the runway before we could land so
big money boss sit Crixus is here Peter's here Carol
Crixus here yes sir Kim red is here excellent I'm just gonna pop over here
and I'm just gonna bump the contrast up here a little
I'm looking a little pale here I know it's wintertime but there we go I think
that's gonna help a little bit so there we go I think that's gonna help all
right Tommy sounds like you're more snow than we do and so yeah we've got a lot
of snow here Tommy I cannot believe how much snow we have and we're actually in
our driveway here we're actually running out of room to put the snow the banks
are that high so that's we've officially have more than last year hi Frank Frank
is here from Michigan for those of you who are work here last year we learned
all about Michigan and we learned about Yoopers we learned about trolls we
learned about mitten and we learned about the thumb of Michigan which was
really kind of fun so thanks for all of that Frank Caesar New York your channel
helped me to pass my road test first time that is really awesome
congratulations on passing your road test and I certainly enjoy your new
freedom Matt is here April's crazy life all melted in Ontario well April you can
certainly come out here we have tons of snow randy had just failed my test
should have found this sooner Randy what was the reason that you were
unsuccessful on your road test I just let me know there in the comments my
mate Tim is here yes basic Joomla tutorials that's my buddy Tim who you
pranked me yesterday on the live feed because I was at Tim's place when I did
the live feed on Saturday and I did it on my phone and whatever it is with
YouTube they need to spend more money on their live feed software for their phone
because I couldn't change the thumbnail and the first thumbnail that I took that
some of you may or may not have seen I I looked like I was wanted in three states
for you know abusing puppies or something and anyway Tim got a hold of
that and he was headed on his phone and we were in the restaurant he's going
through the restaurant showing it to people have you seen this person have
you seen this person so that's my buddy Tim yes Layla's here I passed my driving
test a few months ago thank you because your videos helped a lot that's great
peaches is here Michael Gordon hi there everyone and so as I said in
the introduction we're talking tonight about eight reasons why you will not be
successful on a road test some of it you'll have heard before and some of it
will be new for some of you so if you have any questions Crixus
no stone in Dubai what's the weather in Dubai right now I'd be interested to
know that Mason I've been watching you for a while I'm still figuring out to
drive and everything I take it first test yes great all the snow is melted
yes parallel parking yes d that is that's a tough one parallel parking I'm
gonna talk a little bit about parallel parking I'm gonna talk about other slow
speed maneuvers and the importance of slow speed movers in terms of taking a
road test you need to understand that for the purposes of passing a road test
regardless of class one of the things that you need to do is you need to
demonstrate to the examiner that you have due care and control of the vehicle
that you can drive the vehicle and you can interpret traffic you can read
traffic patterns and you can predict what other road users are doing on the
roadway and adjust your vehicle and your driving actions accordingly so that's
what you need to do and we're going to talk a little bit more about that and
I'll just answer a few questions here if anybody has questions bad parallel
parking not being more observant and failing to turn properly yes Randy and
we'll talk all about those errors and how to correct those and how to be more
how to drive the vehicle better how to do all those things and do all the
turning and whatnot Mason I am not sure about I don't think that's correct about
not parallel parking in California I'm pretty sure that they do Cal parallel
parking in California and what I'll do is I'll just put that out to the other
smart drivers if that's their experience I'm not gonna say that definitively but
I'm pretty sure they do parallel park in in California there okay Abdul your
videos were great help I'm not from the US but your voice helped me to pass it
not the first try but still my regards from Siberia that is brilliant in
Siberia to the side of the road and reverse straight yes Mason that is a
different technique and there is a video here Mason on the channel about doing
that about what you're talking about about pulling up beside the curve and
then backing along the curve and the one piece of information that I will give
you the one tip that I'll give you is to stay a little bit away from the curb
like two feet like 24 or 30 inches from the curb that way you've got a little
bit of room to maneuver the vehicle as you're backing out because what happens
for some people who are unsuccessful in that specific maneuver is they get too
close to the curb and then they don't have any wiggle room when they're
backing up and they start rubbing the curb and as soon as you start rubbing
the curb then you're not going to be successful on that particular maneuver
for the purposes of your road test in California all right now route Oh any
tips for perpendicular parking yes Naruto definitely have a look at the
reverse stall parking video here on the channel that'll give you some tips but
just quickly pull up you want to pull up so that you're in line with the vehicle
beside and then you want to back around the corner all the way around the corner
get the vehicle lined up and you want to sort of pause when you get the back end
lined up with the spot that you're going to back into and you want to look
forward and you want to make sure that your vehicle is straight before you
start backing in as well keep track of your steering wheel know that the
steering wheel on any passenger vehicle most of the time pulls one and a half to
two turns in either direction most the time it's one and a half revolution so
keep track of your steering wheel as well when you're backing up and that
will help you out to back up and for all of the smart drivers who are learning
how to drive keep track of your steering wheel keep track of where it is that way
you'll know when the wheels are straight on your vehicle the other thing you can
do is that when you do get your wheel straight is you can put a little piece
of tape on the top of the string wheel that'll serve as a marker of where your
steering wheel is that way you don't have to keep track of the logo in the
of the in the steering wheel so that'll help you as well okay Ivan on Tuesday I
have my maneuvers drive yes you're gonna do great that's awesome okay what else
we got here so parallel parking quick Tom I failed my final RTE test
three times and Dubai I've been watching a lot of your videos recently how I'm
gonna pass yes that's great yes if you do the work and you do imp know
employ the maneuvers and techniques that are here on the channel that will
certainly help you to pass one of the my understanding from some of the people
that have the smart drivers from Dubai who've been on the channel is oftentimes
they're not successful because they don't observe enough you need to
shoulder check you need to look far down the road you need to interpret traffic
patterns and those types of things so if you employ all those techniques that's
going to help you out there and Dubai to pass road tests Mason stop signs
four-way stops yes there's a video here on four-way stops as well Mason so have
a look at that Peter turning right Vince thank you for videos you're most welcome
quit Tom any tips for forty kilometers an hour maintaining speed yes look at
the speed control video that'll help you out as well just go into a parking lot
and fiddle around with the throttle on the vehicle that'll also help you do
that and then you know just going down the road and try and keep it at a steady
speed and you know it doesn't necessarily have to be at forty
kilometres an hour but fifty kilometers an hour 60 kilometers an hour whatever
speed you can keep it at will help you to do that as well just sit in the
parking lot and you know use the tachometer on the vehicle and try and
keep it at 1,000 or 2,000 rpm whatever and just try and hold it there and that
will give you a feel for the throttle Dave is here hi Dave how are you
excellent rocky thanks a lot for your great videos my road test is next month
if I don't have a car to test on what can I do right he one of the things you
can do is go to a driving school and book lessons
with a driving-school and you can use their vehicle for the purposes of your
road test okay Prashant I haven't taken my g2 tomorrow morning and Oh Phil and
still not perfect on how to turn left at an intersection when to move into the
intersection how much new to Canada any suggestions please yes
so Prashant apologize if I'm not saying your name right front steer tires on the
front crosswalk line wait for the gap make sure that there's a sufficient gap
to turn left and you want to turn start to turn left when you're in line with
the middle of the lane the last lane before you start to turn left that's
what you want to do and definitely check out the videos here on the channel about
left turnings there's there's two of them there and Korey I'll probably find
that for you and that'll help you to turn left and improve that for you okay
so Crixus done my parking does thanks for your
tutorials taking my final test soon should I check blind spots when I'm
entering two main road on test day yes you should always anything
Crixus anytime that you're moving the vehicle laterally anytime that you're
turning any time you're changing lanes you always want a shoulder check you
want a head check observation now just I'll just repeat this for those of you
haven't heard me say it before any road tests regardless of class whether it's a
truck it's a bus or a passenger vehicle compliant comprised four components
speed management space management observation and communication those are
the four fundamentals of an e road test and observation is probably one of the
most important because you have to look you have to observe that way you can
control space around your vehicle you have to control space around your
vehicle for the purposes of your road test because when you get near others
things driving examiner's are thinking that you're going to hit something you
don't want to be near fixed objects you don't want to be near other road users
so observe observe observe that's excellent I did
Sarab yes Sarah in the reversed all parking
video have a look at that Cori put that up there and as well I show I go over
how to pull into the parking space as well to drive into the parking space so
that'll help you as well okay and there Cori got the video up on
turning left to complex intersections intersections yes Peter sorry about that
turning right you want to get slowed down first and this goes to people who
are having difficulties with left turns as well make sure that you get your
speed slowed down first that is the biggest challenge that new drivers have
in terms of turning the vehicle is they don't get slowed down first and for
right-hand turns you want to get slowed down to 10 to 12 miles per hour you get
the vehicle slowed down if you're driving a manual transmission you want
to get down into the right gear most of the time free for those of you in Europe
and other places in the world you want to get down to second gear and then you
keep both hands on the steering wheel look through the corner to where you
want to go you want a signal approximately half a block before the
turn and then go around the corner and you're turning the steering wheel now
and I tell students to go to specific driving schools and find out whether you
can release this your grip on the steering wheel keep your palms in
contact with the steering wheel and just let it slide through your hands that's
one of the things that you can do or you might have to manipulate it back
depending on the the specific policy of the driving Authority where you're going
to take your road cuts now the other point that I'll make here is the
comments are going pretty quickly here we have a lot of people on the live
stream so if I didn't get to your question super chats always available
down in the bottom there and I'll get to your question or just ask me the
question again because like I said there's a lot of questions here and I'm
having a tough time getting to all of them so it's not that I'm ignoring you
it's just that there's a lot of questions here okay so
in New York how many of you have to get right on your permit test I'm not I
don't follow the question Dave can you just kind of reword the question for me
Ivan when I'm turning right at a red light intersection when is it safe and
clear to do do I check my right blind spot while I turn or before I start to
move the vehicle okay Ivan when you turn right you come up you stop you got to
make sure you're got a sufficient gap make sure you stop before the stop line
and then move out you might need to move forward so you can see you may not be
able to see the intersection from behind the stop line and immediately before
turning right you have to shoulder check and make sure
that a bicycle or a pedestrian or somebody else didn't slip into your
blind spot there and between you and the curb okay so check that as well Carole
three-point turns seem to be hardest Carolyn if you had a look at the video
on three-point turns here on the channel it goes over that pretty well and one of
the other things Carole if you're having challenges with three-point turns I
might suggest that you look at the learning to drive video and go and get
some of those 36 inch tall one meter tall pylons go to the parking lot and
work with those as well and as well there's also passion road tests first
time course over at my website and you can go over there I'll leave a coupon
down in in the coupon box there and you can pick that up for about 28 bucks and
I'm gonna actually talk to you a little bit about that after I do the
presentation here Eva Ellie Ellie with video games Ellie what I suggest is you
actually get in a vehicle and drive video games will take you so far
because there's just no substitute for practicing in a vehicle it's kind of
like Bruce Lee said and Enter the Dragon you know boards not hit back there's a
certain amount you can do in AI there's a certain amount you can do in a video
game but there just isn't you know it's just not the same there's there's
a lot of other things all right so I am Not sure okay there we go
unable to connect to chat please try again later okay so YouTube is having
some challenges with the with their chat tonight I'm not sure what's going on
so it says unable to connect the chat please try again later mr. B Class a
excellent mr. B that's great that you're gonna go for your class a are you in
driving school I'll see if this comes back up okay so what I'm gonna do while
this is not working is I'm gonna flip over to the PowerPoint presentation I'm
going to do that for you and we'll come back and we'll see whether the comments
are back up at that at that juncture all right I'm just looking to see if there's
any other questions hilary planning to go on my road test
next month in nebraska that's awesome nebraska
what is this important advice for me thanks thanks for your videos hillary
definitely have a look just stay tuned here and we'll go through the PowerPoint
presentation for you okay okay so we still don't have any chat here alright
so I'm gonna flip over to the PowerPoint are they yeah it's actually keynote I
mean Mac alright so here we go okay we get up at the top get rid of that that
okay here we go PowerPoint
okay just bear with me and just get and we're just about there
there we go all right eight reasons the eight top reasons why you may not be
successful on a road test and this is probably a romantic version of somebody
not being successful at something on their life or Otis Redding's you know
sitting on the dock of the bay contemplating laughing what you weren't
successful and one of the pieces that I want to emphasize in terms of road tests
is that sometimes people who should pass a road test don't pass something goes
wrong in the driving environment and the student is anxious the student is
nervous or you know the stars just don't align so I try to suggest to you not to
take it personally if you're not successful on a road test yes take a
couple of days be down you know sit on the couch you know complain about the
world eat potato chips and watch television or do whatever you do to get
over that and get on with your life but after a couple of days get off the couch
and carry on with your life because unfortunately we're we can't be
successful all the time in life and you know what they say you know fall down
seven times or fail seven times and get back up eight times it's it's just that
keep getting back up you know it's like Thomas Wayne said to Bruce Wayne his son
in Batman why did we fall down we fall down so we can learn to pick ourselves
up and that is the most important thing about failure and the other thing that I
put on here on this slide is first impressions now if you're going for a
road test and you're not in the driving school car think about first impressions
if you show up a bit the test center in a car that's dirty and the examiner gets
in and the foot wells are up to your knees with old you know fast food
wrappers and those types of things it's not likely you're going to be successful
in your road test because you're gonna form a first impression in the in the
examiner's mind so what I suggest you is if you're taking your personal vehicle
down for a road test go and clean it go and vacuum it out make sure that
everything works and there's a video here on the channel about pre trip
inspection for the purposes of going down for a road test make sure that you
do a pre trip inspection on your personal vehicle before you go for road
tests because you don't want to go down there and find out that you have a
taillight out or a brake light and then you can't go out on your road test
because if the car is not safe for example the passenger's seat belt
doesn't work the examiners not safe they can't go on the road test and you will
be denied your road test and have to rebook it so make sure that the car is
up to you know is safe and can go on a road test all right for those of you
don't know me or haven't seen any of the videos on the channel or are new to the
channel my name is Rick August I do have a PhD from the University of Melbourne I
graduated in 2006 with my doctorate in legal history and for those of you who
don't know legal history is the study of policing courts and prisons and my
expertise is in policing as it relates to traffic I drove truck in the 1990s
for almost a decade throughout the states throughout Canada I'm a licensed
I wanted to come off the road so I became a licensed driving instructor I'm
an air brake instructor I was a licensed driving instructor in Ontario and then I
moved to Australia I became a an instructor in Australia I never actually
worked as a driving instructor in strallan then I came back to British
Columbia and I've worked for a period of time as the driving instructor here as
well as well when I was in Australia I worked as a greyhound bus driver and I
worked for the regional v-line which was you know from Melbourne down to Ballarat
and back through Bacchus Marsh in a couple of other places so that was all
fun and I learned a lot about driving buses and driving buses a lot different
than driving trucks ie they run on schedules and those types of things so
that's basically who I am passion road tests first time make sure
you have a look at this playlist these are all the videos that you need and
somebody said they were having difficulties with stop signs and
four-way stops those are definitely in this playlist and this learned to drive
video this is for people who are just starting out go and get some of those 36
inch one metre tall pylons you can rent four of them for less than
$10 for a day go down to the parking lot and practise slow speed maneuvers and
this video will give you exercises that you can do and if you can do the reverse
over the bit of 2x4 on the ground with the tires in the passenger side in
the past the tires on the driver's side excuse me then you have good control of
the vehicle so you need to have control and mastery of the primary controls and
for those of you've got snow for those Hut's in British Columbia not so much in
the East anymore but this video in the playlist here Road to us taking a road
test in the winter time and actually I've had people ask me whether they
should take the road test in the winter time or wait until spring or summer no
definitely take your road test in the winter time actually it's a little
easier to take your road test in the winter time because it's not as exact
because you can't see road markings you can't you don't have to get right up
against the curve because you don't want to get stuck in the snowbank because
I'll keep right now driving examiner's do not like pushing cars out of snow
banks so know that all right that it doesn't have to be exact
okay reason number one for not being successful on a road test you are too
cautious you are not driving the speed limit you're driving well below the
speed limit you're not going when the gap is available and essentially what
this says to the examiner is is that you cannot drive you have not practiced
enough so you need to practice enough that you can get the vehicle up to the
posted speed limit as quickly as possible the posted speed lot on main
roads now if you're in a suburban area where it's heavily populated there's
high pedestrian traffic or there's lots of houses around or fixed objects as the
roads are really narrow and there's lots of parked cars then obviously you can't
do the posted speed limit however on main roads you need to get the vehicle
up to speed as quickly as possible and this is the biggest mistake that new
drivers make is they don't get the vehicle up to speed as quickly as
possible and being too cautious ties into the the previous piece that I was
talking about in terms of mastery of the primary controls and those types of
things and go out and practice slow speed maneuvers three-point terms
two-point reverse turns parallel parking two-point rehearsed turns curb parking
in reverse stall parking all that will improve your overall driving and make
you a better driver overall primary controls we talked about
this in terms of passing your road tests and preparing and
learning how to drive the steering wheel to break the throttle and the clutch
these are the primary controls the clutch is only for those driving manual
transmissions in Europe and other places in the world most of you in North
America are going to be driving automatic vehicles but you need to learn
how to manipulate the primary controls you need to know that the steering wheel
goes one and a half turns full one and a half full revolutions each direction
left and right and you need to know where that is to know whether your tires
are straight on the vehicle when you're parallel parking or reverse stall
parking or whatnot you need to have good use and good control of the brake and
the throttle so that your ride is smooth and then it's not jerky and those types
of things and if you're driving a manual transmission you have to have clutch
control you need to demonstrate to the driving examiner that you have clutch
control clutch control is the basis of driving a manual transmission and if you
if you're learning how to drive manage the transmission definitely have a look
at the playlist here on driving a manual transmission there are four lessons the
first lesson teaches you clutch control and gives you two exercises that you
need to master to know how to control the clutch because if you can't control
the clutch and a manual transmission you're not going to be successful and
moving on to the other lessons and moving the vehicle up and down the road
so you have to have good control of clutch control as I stated in the
introduction the four components of any road test regardless of class our
observation communication speed management and space management and
observation number three on the list of reasons that you're not going to be
successful on your road test and I've had many a smart driver come back on the
road to our back from the road test and say that they were unsuccessful
unfortunately due to the fact that they didn't shoulder check you it doesn't
matter where you are in the world on a passenger vehicle and even most buses
because you can see 90 degrees out the two windows you have to shoulder check
if you don't shoulder check and you are not going to be successful on a road
test I will guarantee you that as well you have to look far down the road you
have to monitor your gauges the reason you have to mount into your gauges is
because that is the the fundamental skill for controlling speed right and
maintain speed at a constant wet one speed so for
example 50 kilometers an hour 30 miles an hour in the city on roads where the
speed limit is that speed or unless otherwise posted all right you need to
look out the rear window when you're reversing and you need to look before
you put the vehicle in motion that's the number one cause for backing crashes is
not looking before you start moving and if you do that on a road test you are
not going to be successful and you cannot use backup cameras on a road test
now I did have a smart driver tell me the other day that they that ain't
that's not true in New Jersey you can use a backup camera I need to
investigate that further and actually verify that information for you because
I don't want to send you to New Jersey and have you go on a road test and use a
backup camera and not be successful on your road test so let me check that out
and I'll get back to you on that information but at this juncture that is
the only place up to this point where I've heard you can use a backup camera
otherwise you've got to look out the back window and quite frankly from my
own experience and watching other people try to use backup cameras unless you do
it all the time you're not going to be successful backing up you need to look
out the back window you need to do 360-degree scans you need to look
forward you need to employ all the skills and techniques you can to be able
to back up because backing up is difficult even for veteran drivers I was
down with my mate Tim on the weekend and we he backed me into a parking space and
we got out and he's like all the cars not straight he's you know and tim is an
and what I consider an experienced driver he's highly skilled at driving a
vehicle he used to race on the track so he has a really good sense of spatial
awareness and where his vehicle is and what how fast the vehicle is going so
even those of us who are skilled are still have challenges backing up
vehicles are not designed to back up we're not designed to back up so you
need lots practice to be able to do that well reason number four for not being
successful on a road test is not reading the road signs and not adjusting your
driving to the information that is provided via those signs and then
one sign that most drivers do not know what its meaning is on a road test or
any other time our object marker signs which are essentially the Chevron's and
and the hash marks on them that tell you that there's a fixed object on the
roadway and tell you which way to pass that fixed object and you'll see those
on the end of bridge abutments that's probably the most prominent place that
they are and it tells you where the lanes are because it points and shows
you where it is and when you see those yellow cautionary and rectangular signs
just think of a cattle pouring water onto the black hash marks and wherever
the water pours off that's where you drive your vehicle okay other signs that
you're going to encounter stop signs you need to come to a complete stop at the
correct stopping position for stop sign the intersections you need to stop
before the stop line if there's no stop line before the crosswalk if the lines
aren't painted under the roadway you need to extend the sidewalk out into the
roadway and if there's no stop line or crosswalk or sidewalk then you need to
stop where the two roads meet school zone signs you need to know the
differing school in the area or an actual speed zone for school zones and
you only have to obey school zones when school is in session so if it's March
break or summer holidays or Christmas holidays then you don't have to obey the
30 kilometre hour sign or the 20 mile an hour's time for those of you in the
States and other places in the world and then road markings you can't cross over
solid white lines so know all of that information and be aware of the changing
driving environment and that you can respond accordingly from the information
provided on signs number five this is a big one striking a fixed object if you
back up into a parking space for example and many of these driving centers will
have concrete barriers behind it so you don't drive into the building if you
strike that concrete barrier that's an automatic fail on a road test so what I
tell students is better to be forward a little bit too far than to be back to
farm and strike the concrete barrier because if you're ahead too far all
you're going to do is lose a couple of demerits it's not going to be
automatic fail whereas if you strength something you're going to have an
automatic fail and striking something is is going to occur during turning during
parking or any other time that you're maneuvering the vehicle slow speed
maneuvers if you bang into the curb on a parallel park and the body of the
vehicle rocks on the chassis that's a definitive fail if you just touch the
curb and you realize on a parallel park for this is what I'm talking about and
you just pull forward and adjust you're not gonna fail on that but if you touch
the curve if you bang the curb or push the wheel up over the curve and that's
the definite fail ok parking you need to be able to park and almost all passenger
vehicle Road tests one of the things you're going to have to do is you're
going to have to park the vehicle you gonna have to do a reverse stall park
that's almost guaranteed on a road test it doesn't matter where you take it in
the world so know that you're gonna have to be able to put the park in a car into
a parking space and then three-point turn or it's also referred to as a Cay
turn or Y turn this is another one that's popular on road tests that you're
going to have to do and for those of you driving buses or driving commercial
vehicles there's different kinds of maneuvers but you are going to have to
park the vehicle at the driving centre to do your pre-trip inspection and I
know that in Victoria it was a parallel park it was a parallel park with a boss
it could be you just have to drive in and park along the curve and those types
of things so parking along kerb is something else that you have to do for
the purposes of a road test so know that if you strike something that's an
automatic fail on a road test ok anything that is considered a dangerous
action if you block an intersection if you stop too close to traffic when you
come to a stop if the examiner intervenes either by taking hold of the
steering wheel or applying the brake then that is an automatic fail on a road
test if you go to make a left-hand turn and there's insufficient gap and again
the examiner is probably going to intervene on this this dangerous action
that you're not going to be successful on a road test another time I had a
student in Victoria doing a parallel park and backed up and there was a big
concrete wall next to where the parking space was the student was going to back
into the wall because the student didn't have
where the vehicle was and the vehicle got out of been out of shape and he was
basically had it on the Blind Side and he couldn't see anything so I intervened
in the road test as soon as I intervened in the road test and the student was
unsuccessful and the road test was over unfortunately so these are some of the
dangerous actions as well if you break the law if you blow through a stop sign
you don't observe correctly at a yield sign you just plow into an intersection
all of these are going to be considered dangerous actions and you're not going
to be successful on a road test number seven is lean positioning you need to
have your vehicle center T in the lane if you're wandering all over the lane or
you're crossing over the lines or bumping the lines eventually you're
going to accumulate enough demerit points that you're not going to be
successful on your road tests and definitely have a look at this video on
changing lanes okay when you're making a left-hand turn after you make a
left-hand turn if the examiner doesn't indicate to you that right away you're
going to make a left turn excuse me then you need to get over to the right
lane you need to drive in the right lane for the for the duration of your road
test and when you're turning left you need to turn in the left lane and then
merge right and if you're turning right you need to move right lane to right
lane okay merging lane changes and moving and the other thing with Lane
positioning is anytime you move the vehicle you need to communicate to other
traffic that you are going to move the vehicle ie signals horns lights hand
gestures and appropriate hand gestures not telling them number one and as well
have your vehicle positioned in the right place if you're going to turn left
you need to be in the left turning lane if you're going to turn right you need
to be in the right lane to turn right the position of your vehicle on the
roadway communicates to other traffic your intentions and what you're going to
do so know all of that all right Lane positioning there we go number eight
left turns so you need to position the vehicle correctly you need to get in to
the left turning lane you can't block the intersection if the light goes
yellow you need to clear the intersection as quickly as possible and
as I said before you proceed through the intersection
yellow light make sure that that oncoming traffic is coming to a stop
make sure that there is nobody running the red light or charging the yellow as
it's called because it's you own the intersection it's better for you to sit
there and wait for the traffic to stop or clear the intersection and then go if
you go and there's insufficient gap it's going to be considered a dangerous
action and know as well that the driving examiner's are going to very anxious if
you go and there is insufficient gap because he or she is going to be the one
that is going to get t-boned and as I've said before t-boned crashes are the most
dangerous and if you passengers in the vehicle on the left-hand turn and you
get t-boned it's probably going to be fatal for them if the vehicle the
oncoming traffic through the intersection is going at any speeds and
all that as well that left-hand turns are going to be one of your biggest
challenges because they're one of the highest risk maneuvers for the purpose
of a road test and you know for those of you are at complex intersections in
urban areas it's going to be challenging and those types of things so make sure
you get plenty of practices leading up to your road tests and again I reiterate
7 to 10 days before your road tests go and see a driving school and you need to
book this three weeks out so that 7 to 10 days before your road tests go and do
a mock road test with a driving instructor because driving instructors
teach people how to pass a road test every day all right and they can
identify those skills and abilities that need to be strengthened for the purposes
of passing your road test and being successful so that you don't you know
aren't failing a road test because it's really it's a real drag okay and good
luck on your road tests and remember pick the best answer not necessarily the
right answer and we'll see whether our comments are back here nope all right so
what I'm gonna do here is
okay let's just get this going here okay that back what I'm gonna do is I'm going
to refresh this and let's see what happens here all right there we go
so my comments came back Sam is here Jericho Arroyo for those of you don't
know Sam is from Ruki Auto driving school in the Bronx and he is a driving
instructor and last we get a good discussion about the five boroughs in
New York for those of us who didn't know our geography and New York City and
aren't watching enough movie so there you go Sandra okay Sandra uh I'm not
familiar with what you're talking about violence during police traffic stops can
you do a vision video of how to protect yourself from the police officer during
a traffic stop can you give me just a little bit more detail about that Sandra
and I'll yeah definitely give that consideration okay who else let's see
Crixus you're most welcome Sandra how are you Sam lost track of time
mister no yes I got my class B that's awesome that's for those who you don't
know Class B is School Bus most associated with Ontario but there are
other are other places that have Class B as well that's school bus some of the
states have that as well okay
Eirene you don't have driving schools in Stanford Kentucky
how big is Stanford Kentucky arene just let me know that there norman past is g
license there in ontario that's really great
yeah and crixus yeah no driving school that's interesting that's right for
somebody to come in as a driving instructor and open a school there
Ashley Ashley that is not a slight against your character at all that
you're 21 and don't know how to drive there are lots of people on the channel
here lots of smart drivers who are older who are learning to get their license
and you know so you're not alone in that okay quit Tom you are most welcome
thanks Rick you are most welcome Sam Sarab is my driving instructor can
accompany me in a driving test in Canada no Sara in Canada we do not driving
structures don't go with students on a road test you're by yourself I know
there are other places and maybe some of the smart drivers will indicate where
they are in the world that driving instructors are allowed to go with them
on the road test because I have heard of that and then for people like me who
don't go with students that's a little bit that's different
mister be in California and I want to know what I should look for in truck
driving school for class a license mr. B the most important thing about a truck
driving school and going to a truck driving school do you have the same
driving instructor for the duration of your course because I've worked at
driving schools I've worked at two or three of them now that they switch you
around between students and I that is just I I hate that I absolutely hate it
because I'll tell you right now you show me 50 driving instructors I'll fuck I'll
show you 50 ways to drive a truck okay so go to the driving school ask them do
I have the same driving instructor for the duration of the course if you have
the same driving instructor for the for the for the duration of your
tractor-trailer course that's the that's the school you want to go to
okay that's my number one prayer in terms of looking for a driving school if
they switch you around between different instructors and they give you some story
about oh you get lots of different experience and those types of things
tell them to just go to the next driving school because it doesn't work because
it just doesn't work okay I'm telling you that right now
okay um Hamid you are most welcome Hillary thank you
okay Hillary I'm not following you what you're telling me there just reword that
a place oh okay Sandra I know what you're
talking about so what you're talking about Sandra is you're talking about
when you're pulled over on the side of the road and the police officer comes up
and they're standing there on the edge of the road and they're talking to you
getting your information your license and those types of things that's what
you're talking about just just type yes there or type smart in the comments and
I'll know first example because I can give you some information about how to
protect yourself in the terms of you get pulled over by a police officer and how
to protect yourself and the police officer because you're absolutely right
when you get pulled over on the side of the road that is a very dangerous place
to be you don't want to be there okay
there you go see Tommy Ashley that's great thanks so
much for sharing that Tommy I got my g2 when I was 25 and I got my G when I was
29 I'm 37 now that is really that's C you're not alone there Joe I take my
driving test this weekend I've been practicing and watching videos like
crazy you give the most professional advice thank you so much Joe that is
really really nice that is just really really I'm lost for words it's really
appreciated thank you so much okay Randy I failed in Staten Island too many
different constructors okay Sandra yes Thank You Sandra yes I'll make a
follow-up video I do have a video on getting pulled over on what you do and
getting pulled over in those types of things now one of the things I will say
Sandra and I'll say this to all the smart drivers here if you do get pulled
over by police officers you don't have to pull over right away you can go down
if you're safe for example you're on the interstate you can pull down and pull
off on the exit or whatnot if you're in town pull into a parking lot somewhere
into a gas station or someplace like that just try and get off the road
because it is really dangerous I've been broken down a few times on the side of
the interstate or on the side of a highway it is not a place you want to be
out there standing around because people do not move over people do not you know
they just don't give you room and there's very little margin for error
there so help out the police officers the police officers will
we'll really appreciate that they'll just follow you down there and it just
helps them to be safe and keeps them safe as well because you know they
appreciate that in those sorts of things so that's Sam yes you're absolutely
right right students get confused when they get different driving structures
yes they do I had a student that wanted every
instructor I don't understand that and the other thing Sam I mean it's it's one
thing in a passenger vehicle you think they get confused in a passenger vehicle
get them into a tractor-trailer unit and you get one driving instructor telling
them one thing and another driving instructor telling you another thing and
then you get students in the in the vehicle and the in the truck with you
and they're like well well bill didn't tell bill told me I didn't have to do
that and you're just like oh whatever come on it no it's it's it's too hard on
the student and it's too hard on you as the instructor okay Sandra you're most
welcome anything we can do to shore up safety when we're driving a nose team
shimmer yes it's okay to blast music if you're on the freeway and you're on
cruise control and there is a very little traffic around yes blare the
music and drive down the road and those types of things because that's just the
the best thing in the world is just being on a big road trip and having
music on and just what we're here the smart drivers who are here on the
channel tell me your best song that you like to play in the car while you're out
on the highway you're out on the freeway and you're on it you're going on kind of
a long trip and those types of things just let me know here in the comments
which one you like okay let's see Matt my brother's 25 years old and he just
got his license so see there we go other people Ashley who are is also
older who are getting their license and you know the other thing I'll just the
other note I'll say Bo that actually has lots of people live in big urban areas
now I mean I lived in Australia for seven years
and I never had a car the whole time I was in Australia because I lived in
Melbourne and we were close to one of the transit routes one of the tram
routes one of the main tram routes and the tram ran every eight minutes I mean
you didn't even have to look at his schedule I mean if you live in New York
City you're gonna have public transport not you're gonna get in a cab you're not
gonna it's you're gonna be delayed in getting a license so if you get your
license later on it's not a it's not a huge deal so I mean for some of us like
myself who now live in Vernon British Columbia where we barely have transit I
mean it's you pretty much have to have a car as well I got two little kids and
the grocery store is a long ways away so it depends whether you need to get it a
license or not you know cuz sometimes you can get away with not having a
license all right okay mister No Oh crazy train there we go that's a
great song Hillary no don't use your left foot for braking you want to use
your right foot for the throttle and for the brake okay
Frank's favorite song is Africa by toto that's a great song too I listen to
audiobooks don't listen to the radio anymore
black Zeus yes that's what I do as well sometimes I do listen to the radio
black Zeus but audiobooks I definitely listen to a lot of audiobooks and the
last trip that I was on I listened to grant cordon I didn't even know who
Grant Cardone was he's one of the top financial experts in the world and he
had some really really good information it was a really good audio book that I
listened to Crixus no speeding is not an automatic fail on
a road test if you speed and you get it back to the posted speed limit quickly
then that's not gonna that's not gonna matter mic fail if you do speed for a
long time if you're consistently over 5 to 10 miles an hour or five or ten
kilometers an hour then yes you're gonna be unsuccessful on your road test but if
it's only for you know 30 seconds or 40 seconds and you get it back then you're
gonna be okay on your road test Matt why did I move to Australia for seven years
I married an Australian she was from Melbourne so that's why we moved to
strike plus when we got married we lived in Ontario for how long did we live in
Ontario we lived in Ontario for 18 months and then I got accepted to go to
graduate school University of Melbourne so with that
that's when we went to Australia so that's where I got my doctor ash yes
that's really great I'm glad that we were able to help you out there okay
bright yeah Brian I'm twenty-eight taking my road test two weeks from now
that is really great
yep black Zuse it's a really good book grant is he is a high energy person for
sure what is considered an automatic fail sander just about anything is a
dangerous action is an automatic fail if you fail to stop if you do something
consistent for example you don't shoulder check for the duration of the
road test you're not going to be successful on your road test anything
that's a dangerous action if you pull out in front of another car or another
car has to brake the examiner intervenes in the vehicle applies the breaker takes
hold of the steering wheel those are all automatic fails if you block or an
intersection you're not going to be successful on a road test so so those
are some of the things that could cause you to automatically fail your road test
epic nice and it did fail my road test by hitting the cones perhaps a video
should help me out with that scenario yes so if you do yeah have you hit the
cones unfortunately you're not going to be successful
Kel's buyer what's the best way to pass your road test first try I Kel's
practice lots of practice okay make sure you practice follow the videos here on
the passion road test playlist and then book a road test three are not a road
test but book a mock road test three weeks out with a driving school and then
seven to ten days before you go for your road test go and do a mock road test
with the driving instructor and if you're not taking lessons that is and
that driving instructor will be able to give you specific information about the
skills that need to improve be improved for the specific location where you're
going to be taking your driving tests because different driving authorities
have different nuances of what they want you to do in those types of things for
the purposes of your road test okay Prashant
you're gonna pass you're gonna do great no do not like I said so
unfortunately sometimes people who should pass a road tests are not
successful because of nerves and those types of things so don't take it
personally do you know do take a day or two and be depressed you know watch
television complain about the world be miserable be negative you know eat lots
of Doritos and marshmallows but don't beat yourself up about it is
not failure is not terminal okay it just it's it's just a way of learning about
the world it's as my karate sensei used to say one of its best sayings was
there's no learning and winning we don't learn anything when we win we there's
learning in failure we learn how to pick ourselves up and we learn what we did
wrong and we become stronger and one of the things that one of the fundamentals
of being successful in life is increasing the length of your string
increase increasing the length of your rope as they say in martial arts and
essentially what they're saying is is that you're making your skills better
you're making yourself stronger and you're improving what you can do and
when you're unsuccessful in a road test you evaluate what you did wrong and then
you get better and then you succeed right it's like my live feeds right I
mean my live feeds look great now but when I started 20 live feeds ago I mean
the first time I did a live feed my computer was too old my internet
connection was too slow it just didn't work and the whole thing just tanked and
it got a little better but I just I mean I was not satisfied with it for 20 feeds
and now I'm you know I'm getting there but it's an evolution and know that you
got to practice you got to do it and you got to get better okay so Matt they're
excellent Matt took a couple of times to get to be successful on this road test
callous eye eye you need on you're talking about a passenger vehicle you
need you're allowed forty demerits I believe
on no that's a commercial vehicle okay Sam you might be able to help me with a
set how many demerits are you allowed on a passenger vehicle that you're not
successful on the road test okay well just ask Sam that he'll know
that for a fact what are the penalty for driving on a suspended license yeah
generation you don't want to do that okay so yeah don't get pulled over or
caught by that going get your license wait until you get your license back
okay newer I tried to drive the manual car it was crazy I can't focus on a lot
of things in the same time I prefer the automatic okay Nura have a look at the
lessons here and go to apartment you need a parking lot you need to focus on
just getting the car going and there's two lessons that you need to work on in
the parking lot with the manual car before you get going okay generation
what is it the merit okay so every time you do something wrong or the driving
examiner considers that you didn't do something up to the standard that they
want you to do it at they're going to assign points to you so for example say
you went around on a left-hand turn and you didn't shoulder check you're gonna
lose two you're gonna get two points to demerit points for not shoulder checking
on a left-hand turn that's what the merits are and every and so say for
example you crossover on a solid yellow on a solid white line the driving
examiner will have a certain amount of points that they're going to assign to
that and you're allowed so many points against you and then once you hit that
threshold then you're not successful on your road test so it's not an automatic
fail but it's an accumulated accumulation of demerits where you're
not going to be successful on your road test okay
there you go okay so Cory if I'm recalling correctly in Winnipeg Manitoba
here in Canada you're allowed ten minor errors and zero major errors okay Bryan
if you don't see the speed limit in the city it is 30 call 30 miles an hour for
you call let me say it again I'll start over the speed limit inside the city is
50 kilometers now or 30 miles an hour the speed limit outside of the city is
80 kilometers an hour 50 miles an hour unless otherwise posted so if you didn't
see the speed sign and you're inside the city just do 50 kilometers an hour 30
miles an hour if you're outside of the city do 80 until you see the next speed
sign the driving examiner can't really ding you for that they can assign a
couple of demerits but you're not gonna fail for that
okay so just err on the side of caution and do what that speed limit is okay
inside the city or outside the city yeah don't ask the driving examiner just do
that speed limit prashant used to drive a manual in India
until I returned to Canada five months ago yeah Prashant it's just like riding
a bicycle once you learn how to drive a manual transmission then you're gonna
continue to be able to do that you know it's like you know me getting in a big
truck I haven't been in I haven't been in a tractor-trailer unit for two years
now and I can get back in a tractor and just do it it's not so it's like riding
a bicycle you're not gonna you're not gonna forget how to do it so you're
gonna be great okay so there's Sam you will pass a road test here in New York
if you get thirty points or less once you get 35 points or more you not meet
standards for licensing there you go so it's 30 points on a passenger vehicle in
New York and I think I can posit that that is fairly standard across the board
I think it's about 30 demerit points that you're allowed for a passenger
vehicle now I know for a big truck it's sixty demerits on a big truck and I
think for a boss it's about 40 demerit points okay hey Crixus yes
bricks for wheels that's Corey and he is the moderator here
so does some work for me as well so Cory is really great and he's awesome at
moderating and keeping all the bad people who say terrible things and he's
also really awesome at getting the videos that are here on the channel that
gets gives you further information for the questions that you guys are asking
me so there you go so I we're just about an hour here I'm
going to wrap this up if you like the channel make sure be sure to subscribe
hit that thumbs up button you know leave comments down in the comment sections I
do try and get to the comments as much as I can and if I don't get to you just
ask me the question again because I will get to you right now I'm up against a
deadline I'm working on a post crash analysis I do consulting work as well
for a law firm and unfortunately I'm working on a really kind of awful case
where a kid get off a transit bus and walked around in front of the Transit
bus and got hit by a pickup truck that was passing the transit bus so I'm
working on that right now this week so I'm I'm really busy because I have a
deadline for the first February to get that report done and it's it's been a
lot of work so that's what I'm working on right now but I'm you know trying to
get the videos done keep going here and I went down to Victoria this weekend and
Tim and I got a lot of work done on the on the website so we're working on that
as well and you know just trying to get really good videos and information up
for all the smart drivers here on the channel and those types of things so and
my intro flashes generation when you say intro flashes I'm not following what
you're saying there okay okay there we go
prashant driving automatic is fun it's just the rules over here not that I
don't like following rules I used district it's just the rules yes the
rules are I'm sure that the rules are quite different here than they are in
India okay Paul hopefully you make a highlights
video I missed the video yes Paul definitely make the highlights
video I've realized that they get lots of interest so I'm definitely gonna
have a look at that Prashant you are most welcome Vince yes thank you so much
god bless you as well Tommy thank you that's really great okay so thank you
everybody congratulations to everybody who yes spot for the course I didn't do
that Cory the passion road test first time is available over at the website as
I said we're changing over some of the e-commerce stuff so we're fixing that up
so if you want to pass your road test first time look down in the coupon box
or you get 30% off you picked the course up for about 28 bucks as well so head
over there and pick that up
okay generation it's supposed to do that oh okay
I'm laughing generation because we fixed that recently in the last few videos my
friend Tim just picked on me for some time yes the mouse button in the BA
flash is in the bottom I now know what you're saying yes so for the first 200
videos that was there we now have fixed that so that doesn't do that anymore
okay Matt have a good night generation yeah okay we like I said generation all
of this has been an evolution and we're getting there we're getting better so
that's what happened with that okay you are most welcome beasts that's really
great thanks for that Jamie definitely have a look at the winter driving
playlist here lots of great information here for that as well okay and Cory's
put up the information there for the tips for the passion road test first
time thanks for reminding me for that Bantu Bantu is in Ottawa generation
thank you so much pointing up my introduction and helping me to fix that
so good luck to everybody taking a road test this week congratulations everybody
who passed a road test last week and remember
pick the best answer not necessarily the right answer have a great night bye now

Pres. Moon orders safety checks on all public facilities after Miryang tragedy - Duration: 2:32.
Turning our focus to a meeting held between the president and his top aides.
The liberal leader called for the formation of a special task force on fire safety measures.
Hwang Hojun starts us off from Cheongwadae.
President Moon Jae-in called for an overall safety check on fire-prone public facilities
as well as new safety measures to put an end to fire-related accidents.
"The pervasive feeling that we aren't safe, the tendency to go for stopgap measures.
This is another way of saying that safety is not a priority and that it's a waste of
money.
These are just the kind of deep-rooted evils we have to eradicate."
That was the President speaking during Monday's meeting with his top aides, just a couple
days after he visited the site of the hospital fire in Miryang last weekend,... which, as
of Monday morning, had resulted in 39 deaths.
The fire in Miryang came just over a month after another fire in a commercial building
that killed nearly 30 people in the city of Jecheon.
Since then, the Moon administration has been blamed by some for the deep flaws revealed
in the nation's safety.
The fires have been seen as a setback for President Moon's pledge to make the country
safer,... with the PyeongChang Winter Olympics coming up in a matter of days.
President Moon said the fundamental cause of catastrophes like these lies in the past,
a jab at the past two conservative administrations which were focused more on external growth.
But amid the finger-pointing, President Moon stressed that no one is blameless and asked
all parties to put their full efforts into righting this wrong.
"We can ask whether this was caused by local governments failing to properly manage safety
or by the National Assembly falling behind in safety-related legislation.
But ultimately, the people's lives and safety are the responsibility of the central government.
And with that in mind, I urge you take action."
The South Korean President called for the creation of a special task force within the
Blue House that will deal with fire safety measures.
He also insisted that the government come up with new methods that will find every last
problem with buildings across the country and let the public know about them.
Even if it takes time, he said, they can't continue with business as usual.
Several safety measures were suggested by the President, such as mandatory fire drills
and installing an emergency button at larger facilities that will alert the authorities.
When it comes to applying new safety rules to existing buildings, he asked his top aides
to find a way that won't put too much financial pressure on building owners.

Cold spell lingers until tomorrow morning _ 012918 - Duration: 1:51.
A major local online shopping mall and one of South Korea's biggest currency exchange
are joining forces to develop a system that would allow purchases using crypto-currency.
Although not an entirely new concept..., it is still foreign to many in the nation.
Lee Jeong-yeon provides a closer look.
A major project is underway in South Korea for virtual currency.
One of the country's biggest online shopping malls, Wemakeprice, and the largest local
crypto exchange, Bithumb, are working on a system that'll see virtual currencies used
on a large scale... for their original purpose -- namely, buying things.
Currently, Bithumb and Wemakeprice are waiting on government regulations on virtual currency
to be finalized before launching the service.
If this were to become possible, it would mean that 12 types of virtual currency, including
Bitcoin, Ripple, and Ethereum, could be used to make purchases online.
It's not the first time in Korea that a vendor has accepted virtual currency, but it is the
first time that a major online retailer has done so.
Crypto prices are notorious for their volatility, so transactions will reflect the coins' value
in real time.
But not everyone's convinced.
"I think for now the prices of cryptocurrency fluctuate too much, so I would think twice
before using it as money.
But it would be convenient if I could."
"Virtual currency isn't yet backed by by the government, so I think there's a risk.
I'm not sure, but I feel like it's too soon to be used as currency."
In the United States, Bitcoin is already accepted by major online platforms such as Overstock,
Expedia, and Microsoft.
Japanese electronics store BicCamera has also started accepting it at their brick-and-mortar
stores.
So there's evidence that cryptos are gaining a foothold, but experts see significant downsides.
"The current crop doesn't really have a central authority trying to stabilize the prices,
so I think they're working against themselves in trying to make this a currency.
The value is just too volatile."
Still, the expert says it might be worth a try.
"It will be an interesting experiment.
I think a lot of people will look at this as perhaps trying to figure out what the future
path of the cryptocurrency will be, whether it will be able to fulfill its original intention
as a currency or whether it will just be a niche asset like gold."
He also speculates that it could be years before the value of cryptos is stable enough
for it to become a mainstream form of currency.

How to End a Conversation Politely - Duration: 6:03.
In this video, we're going to talk about how to end a conversation politely.
I have seven tips for you. So let's unpack it.
Hello again friends. Alex Lyon here. And this channel, Communication Coach, is here
for people like you, rising leaders, so that you can increase your own personal
leadership impact and bring out the best and all of the people around you. And
today we're talking about people skills. Every leader needs good people skills
because sometimes people don't respect the boundaries that we have on our time
and the kinds of work that we need to do. And if you're like me you've been
trapped, you've been painted in a corner by a
person who won't let that conversation go. So we're gonna talk about seven ways
that you can end these conversations politely. And as we talked about the list,
I'd like to ask yourself which of these seven do you feel would be most helpful
for you personally. Because if you can pick out just one or even two, that will [help]
make sure you put it into practice that much more. So let's talk about the seven
steps. Number one. You have to end on your turn. So in a conversation, there's a back
and forth dynamic to communication. And when you want to end the conversation,
you do it when you're already talking. You can't interrupt the other person
because that will not come across as polite. That's an interruption. So you
fight for a talking turn, say what you have to say, and then during that talking
turn you signal that you're ending the conversation. You have to end on your
turn. All the rest of the tips flow from this concept. Tip number two.
Set a time limit. Somewhere in the conversation, you have to indicate how
much time you have to talk. You may do it at the very beginning of the
conversation and say hey it's good to see you Steve. I've got about five
minutes to talk what's up. Or you can do it somewhere in the middle of the
conversation. You might say something along the lines of I have about one more
minute before I have to go but let me finish with this thought. And somewhere
in there you're signaling the time and then they hear oh okay this conversation
is going to end. And that's the way normal people do this they let you know
that they have about a certain amount of time and then they end the conversation.
This is gonna be familiar to people. The third thing you want to do is like a
little secret technique you pack up your stuff. This is a nonverbal way to
show them that you are leaving and moving on to the next thing. So you start
putting things in your bag. You get your keys out. You put your coat on. this shows
them oh something's changing here. Alex is about to leave. So that's a nonverbal
signal that shows, it's reinforcing the fact that you're leaving verbally, you
already said you're gonna leave, you have about a minute left or so and then you put
your stuff on, you're committing to this non-verbally. By the way, these are called
leave-taking behaviors. And this is what we all do naturally when we're about to
go and so these cues are really known and powerful to most people. They will
pick up on them. The fourth thing you want to do is tell them that you have to
go. So you have to use phrases that they're used to hearing like I've got a
run. I've got to get going. Those are phrases that signal once again
that you're going to go. A lot of times people even feel like just saying that
feels rude. But I assure you these are just common phrases that wrapped into the
other tips, they're going to understand that this means you're going to go.
The next tip you want to do is tell them what you're about to do next. And you
don't want to be too specific. Keep it nice and concise. But if you say things
like I have a meeting to go to or I have some projects that I've got to get back
on or I'm a little behind on some work, then they'll know that oh he's not just
abandoning the conversation because he doesn't like me. He's going
because he has something else to do. So that's the next tip. The tip after
that is to use politeness. This is what we do when we like a conversation with
someone when we're happy that we've seen them. We say toward the end of it it was
really great catching up. I'm so glad I bumped into you. This was a great
conversation. Now of course you want to be honest but pick something that is
honest and is true to who you are and express that politeness to them because
that shows them a little bit of respect but also this is the way we signal that
we're wrapping up normally. So again, it'll be familiar to them and it'll set
off those cues for them oh I guess we're wrapping up. Like if somebody says it was
so great catching up with you I'm so glad I bumped into you, we don't normally
say that at the beginning of the conversation. We say it toward the end
and so that'll let them know yet another way that the
conversation is ending by using that politeness. And the last thing you want
to do is to apologize and repeat. Now you want to say, if they're stubborn and
they're not breaking off, you want to say I'm really sorry but I do have to get
going. Or I apologize but I've got to go to my
meeting now. A lot of times people need that little extra reinforcement toward
the end. And by the way, saying you're sorry quickly or apologizing, you
don't wanna drag it out, make too big a deal of it. bBut this is the way people
talk in a normal kind of polite conversation. They say little phrases
like that. It doesn't mean you've actually done something wrong that you need to
apologize for it. It's just a way once again to signal that you're trying to be
respectful to that person. Now let me reassure you that if you do these seven
techniques or even some of these techniques, you will come across as
polite. A lot of times when we're maintaining a boundary we feel like just
maintaining a boundary around our time around our energy and our focus that's
impolite, but the truth is is that only you can maintain your boundaries. Other
people are not going to do that for you, and if you're routinely getting painted
into a corner in a conversation by somebody, they need a reminder of where
that boundary is and if you do it politely they should respect it and
their feelings are not gonna be hurt if you handle it this way. So as I
mentioned earlier, I want to ask the question of the day. Which of these seven
tips do you most see benefiting you personally? Which one do you think would
help you the most? I would love to hear your comments in that section below the
video. So thanks. God bless and I'll see you next time.

Tony Robbins: HOW TO FINALLY CHANGE YOUR LIFE (Motivational Video 2018) - Duration: 16:33.
the strongest force in the human
personality is the need to remain
consistent with how we define ourselves
I'm gonna say that again the strongest
force in the human personality is the
need to remain consistent with how we
define ourselves what does that mean we
live in a world of so much uncertainty
now because change happens how often
constantly men's roles women's roles
jobs environments businesses bam bam bam
it's all changing so we have a need as
human beings for certainty we're not
certain about relationships businesses
time we're not certain that a lot but
one thing at least were certain about us
I know who I am if you don't know that
you freak out you have what's called an
identity crisis we can't make any
decisions you're freaking out so we all
define ourselves subconsciously so some
people see themselves as being
extraordinary conservative how they're
gonna do something crazy they're gonna
know hey hey I'm not that kind of person
what kind of person I don't know but I'm
not that kind of person then they're
true if you think you're outrageous you
move differently you talk to me you do
things differently there's no one right
or wrong but most of us have trapped
ourselves in an old identity we've never
updated who we are today and so you go
learn something a skill a talent or
ability but your identity is this is Who
I am and so you'd never far surpass it
many years ago I was asked a very
interesting question somebody asked me a
question they raised their hand the
seminar said Tony can you change people
that don't want to change of course you
can change people don't want to change
all you need is the right kind of if you
have an up leverage where change becomes
an absolute now for some people leverage
is not even the threat of their own life
some people rather die than have you
tell them what to do and so that's not
the leverage the leverage for them might
be something for their children leverage
of them might be spiritual growth all of
us have a leverage point if you find the
leverage not the leverage you make
someone do it the leverage that will
make them make themself do it
we all have someplace that will get us
to fall through now if you get enough
leverage and if you interrupt the
pattern enough how many of you ever had
a pattern when you're a kid and you had
like some obnoxious uncle or something
and you were trying to be upset and they
come like rub your knee on the head or
some ish make you crazy and you couldn't
stay upset because they kept doing this
to you how many other selves and say ah
if you have enough leverage and you
break someone's pattern enough times a
new pattern will show up if you're
conscious you can create the new pattern
so the answer is yes now then the
question would be Tony if all it takes
is leverage then why don't most people
change and I had a lot of answers for
that but that night I'm a night person
that night I'm wired up after a seminar
it's like two o'clock in the morning it
was December and so I flip on the
television in the back for some white
noise looking for CNN and I come across
the old Christmas classic this couch
Christmas Carol right a Dickens classic
and I see it in black and white and I
start watching the movie and remembering
her for being a kid and as I'm watching
this thing I see this man named Scrooge
who clearly doesn't want to change in
fact he's certain he doesn't need to
change because what's happened is his
life went through a lot of pain and when
he got pain he looked for the source of
that pain and he said it was being close
to people so we decided his people
equals pain remember the red squares we
talked about so now he wants to avoid
people and
mean to people now he's also very
wealthy financially he makes up this
belief because I mean and tough with
people I'm rich the truth is he's
financially rich if you watch the movie
you read the story when everyone else is
gone who's still working he is he's
hard-working he's thrifty smart he's
intelligent but he thinks he's rich cuz
he's mean so he doesn't want to live as
being rich he doesn't want to lose not
being hurt so he has a belief be mean to
people and everything works out even
though he's miserable can we have
beliefs that make no sense and yet still
believe him yes or no sure if we just
get wired so I'm watching this guy now
the only way people change is if they
associate either enough what pain so
they have to change or they associate
changing will equal enough what and
ideally if you get both you'll change if
you get every moment I do this the pains
getting more and more tense there's a
point where you must change and if you
get if I change again on this pleasure
you're gonna want to change how many
follow but what equals pain and what
equals pleasure is what you associate in
your nervous system so what happens is
the only way you create change is
changing what you link pain and what you
link pleasure to in your nervous system
not just in your head and your duck
that's what controls you lots of times
in your head you know what you should do
but your gut takes over your fear or
your greed or your desire or you comfort
or whatever who knows what I'm talking
about here say i watch this how many of
you used to have a favorite dessert or a
food or a form of alcohol that you
really really really loved and then one
night you had an experience like never
before where something happens where
this food of this drink of this alcohol
that you love so much it went down but
it kept coming back up at a level of
intensity and with enough aroma and pain
an association
that to this day it takes little
willpower just to think of that alcohol
or think of the smell of that food or
look at it makes you appalled makes you
repelled who's good who's had an
experience like this in your life say I
tell me what that change was was that a
change in willpower no all that happened
is your brain changed what it used to
link pleasure to and now link pain to
when you link enough pain it takes the
willpower you're gonna void the problem
is so are you linking paying the things
you need like exercise right or pain
what you need like a relationship right
and it's the wrong Association but it's
going to control your life your job is
to change what you link pain and
pleasure to so that night what was
pleasure became pain and now takes in
the willpower you just avoid it so we
call that changing what you associate
the things in your nervous system or for
short a neural associative change in
other words changing in your neuro your
nervous system what you associate pain
and pleasure do so by the way in this
Christmas Carol story
does this man Scrooge change his life
yes or no he didn't want to change does
he change his life a little or
completely and by the way how fast
heartbeat one evening how does it happen
three your associative conditioning
specialist show up in his house right
three ghosts show up and what do they do
they give him the link a massive
unbearable amount of what to all the
things he did in the past around people
then they go to everything he has in the
present pain and everything in the
future pain to there's so much there was
no word escape here's the other reason
why people don't change because right
now my relationships in pain but it was
good in the past so you escape having a
change by remembering a good time or I
might be coughing and having these
problems with cigarettes right now but
you know what George Burns lived to be
102 he smoked cigars by the way and he's
1 out of 10 billion people that bought
that off
but let's not confuse ourselves with
ratios so you make up what the future is
if your present is painful you can
escape to the past and get out of the
pressure to change how many followers
say I or you can escape to a future
because no one knows what it is for sure
and you can make it up but if your brain
links it's been painful in the what past
in the S key even worse and uh they'll
change like that who here has ever
stayed in a relationship that you knew
was not right for you you it wasn't
right for you it wasn't right for them
who has ever stayed a relationship way
too long who's done this before raise
your hand say ah it wasn't good for you
wasn't good for them yet you stayed why
why because even though it's painful in
the present what you do you said it'll
get better over there in the future
why'd you finally changed who here
finally changed that say I how'd you do
it your brain wet it's painful now it
was painful in the past see me worse in
the future that's it that's what I call
a Dickens pattern when you lock in pain
in all those places there's no place to
escape so you change it's like if you
put a wall here awhile here the wall
here and we close them in on you
amazingly you'll move forward that's
what we're talking about giving yourself
leverage on yourself that way not having
someone else do to you you do it to
yourself that's when you got the power
again I'm gonna get it say ah
this could be the greatest time you ever
live if you control what you focus on if
you find a more empowering meaning and
if you decide to model the actions of
those who succeeded before you it can be
the best financial time the best
emotional time that a spiritual time of
your life but you better take control of
your state and if you think you're gonna
do it just by today you're wrong you're
gonna need to get yourself some rituals
right now every one of you this room is
controlled by your rituals I don't just
mean this one I mean every morning you
get up I know your body I can look at
your body right now and I can guess your
rituals some of you your rituals to work
out five times a week I can see it
clearly four to six times a week
it's obvious because you couldn't look
like that if you didn't do that some
form of workout I don't care it's
walking lifting whatever somebody it's
obviously lifting weights as far you can
see by the band's muscles I know I know
what his rituals are because your life
comes from your rituals but you don't
about the ritual you're kidding yourself
how many degrees me on this rage against
AI and there are rituals to put you in
state no rituals to take you out of
state you have rituals in your
relationship you have rituals with your
body you have rituals run your finances
and the rituals that worked in the
reaping time of fall in the markets and
in business and a real estate those
rituals won't work them if you do the
right thing at the wrong time you get
pain I'll say that again if you do the
right you go but okay I'm doing the
right thing but I'm not being rewarded
if you do the right thing at the wrong
time you don't get rewarded you get paid
so you better do the right thing at the
right time and to do that you better
know what season you're in to do that
you better learn how to change your
state how to take control of your own
conditioning that's what I live for
does this make sense to you yes or no
come on guys yes or no so now it's time
to train yourself to do that I'll show
you how fast it can change try this just
for a second I want to show you what you
can do with just focus try this for a
moment I'm gonna give you a test sit up
in your chair with some energy
make sure buddy next using strong state
if we're otherwise adjust their state
come on change your physiology what am I
gonna do see if they're ticklish that
might help now do this I want to look
around this room right now and find
everything in this room that you can
find this brown as fast again with the
violet ceramic for brown look around
look around you look for Brown look for
brown look for brown okay close your
eyes I'm gonna give you a test with your
eyes closed now
shout out loud everything you saw that
was red if you see a lot more Brown
right now than red say yes open your
eyes look for red now I want you to
really look for red look for red look
for red look for red anything you'd find
it's red look for red all around you
look for red raise your hand if you feel
it more at this time and say aye
why did you find more red this time cuz
seek and you shall that's right whatever
you focus on you're gonna find it in
fact let me tell you something you'll
even find it when it's not there how
many saw burgundy called it red just so
you can have more things you count it
raise your hand say aye
come on see whatever you're looking for
you're gonna find so if you want to
change your life my friends you've got
to change your physiology and you gotta
change your focus by the way how fast
can you change that stuff how fast my
for us how fast how fast come on and a
heart beat once you reach Ange you're
conditioning that's all you got to do
ain't gonna fast you can do it a
question or two try this right now
answer this question in your mind and be
honest what in your life today if you
wanted to be could you feel proud about
right now if you wanted to feel proud if
you do like I shouldn't be proud if you
want to feel proud
what could you be proud of in your life
today your children your health your
body is there a problem you faced and
instead of running from it you finally
stepped up and handled it could you feel
proud of in your life too that if you
wanted to feel proud how many could pick
us up
and when you think about this thing
you're proud of what about that makes
you feel proud what do you focus on that
makes you feel proud how do you breathe
when you really start to feel proud
that's what kind of look on your faces
starts to happen when you let yourself
feel proud yeah how's it feel
think of another area life think of any
of your life that you're grateful for or
I'm not grateful if you wanted to be
grateful what's an area you could feel
grateful for me I think you feel
grateful for if you really wanted to
feel great
I'm a can think of something you can
feel grateful for misters your hands and
what about bad are you grateful for what
do you focus on that makes you feel
grateful how does it feel when you're
really truly feeling filled with
gratitude here's one if you wanted to be
excited about your life right now and
you're willing to be excited you want a
buck everybody else's trend what could
you feel excited about in your life if
you wanted to feel excited what could
you get excited about if you really
focused on it and you really took it in
and you weren't in a negative place what
could you get excited about if you
wanted to be excited in your life what
could you get excited about
I believe you can think of something you
feel excited about right now right yeah
miss use your head ci when you're really
excited about it what about that excites
you or when you're really excited how do
you feel how do you speak what's your
life like by the way when you're excited
does it tend to touch other people yes
or no
absolutely by the way do people have a
tendency but who feels different right
now they're just even a couple moments
ago raise your hands say aye
why because focus is controlled by
questions if you ask a different
question continuously that once
continuously you will get a different
answer if you ask a lousy question you
get a lousy a certain a lousy state
somebody said why does this always
happen to me it doesn't always happen to
you but the brains like a computer
asking a question you don't have to come
up with an answer because you deserve it
you idiot someone will say how come I
can never lose weight you can't lose
weight but if you keep saying how come I
can ever lose weight that means gotta
come an answer goes you're a pig lousy
questions create what lousy answers ask
a better question get a better answer
now here's what I want you to get I want
you to get that you can change your
stain how fast guys how fast how fast
and if you get the habit of doing it you
have a different life

Is It Unfair to Pay CEOs billions? Q&A with Prof. Howie Baetjer - Duration: 2:44.
Isn't it unfair to pay CEO's billions of dollars when there's so many people in poverty?
That all depends on where the pay comes from and how it is earned.
If, for example, the payment to the CEO's comes in part from a government bailout, at
the taxpayers' expense, then absolutely it's wrong to pay then that.
But if the CEO is earning that money, has paid that money as a result of a contract
with the board of directors and they use that to reward him or her for making decisions
for them.
Because they believe that he or she is the best ... is a good option and worth it.
And if that CEO makes decisions suppose the CEO's paid $10 million a year.
If he or she makes decisions, which earn the company $15 million a year, they're absolutely
worth it.
As long as they ... I guess I would answer that the way I would answer about the pay
... about any pay for anybody.
It's fair and it's ethical, I think, if they're creating more value for the enterprise then
they're paid.
Because then the enterprise is better off on net.
And let's remember that enterprises make their money by creating goods and services creating
wealth for other people.
So no I don't have any difficulty with paying a CEO millions of dollars.
If he or she has earned it with making really good decisions and guiding the company so
as to create a greater amount of wealth than what they're paid.
I see no problem with that at all.
To add one other thing.
The question isn't it unfair to pay CEO's millions of dollars while other people are
living in poverty, seems to assume that the CEO has that money at the expense of the people
in poverty.
But that's not true.
If the company that the CEO works for is creating valuable goods and services, then the CEO's
money doesn't come at the expense of the poor, it comes as a result of making the poor better
off by providing them good and services they would like to have at a price they're willing
to pay.
This idea that the rich get richer in a free market at the expense of the poor is a pernicious
error.
Bill Gates and Steve Jobs didn't get rich at our expense.
They got rich by making us better off.
It's important for us to remember that.
