Flashcards! flashcards! flashcards! flashcards? flashcards! it's a cool word,

isn't it? they are cool and they're amazing to

memorize new grammar, vocabulary, and expressions! but a lot of people don't

know how to use flashcards smartly, and they waste their time!

Patrick was wondering how to use them effectively, how often to use them, which

flashcard apps are the best, and what exactly to write on a flashcard. so today

we're talking about flashcards and all of the questions that Patrick has,

because that's what we voted for on Patreon! so click here! become a patron, so

your ideas and your questions can become For Your English videos! here's a

flashcard. it has two sides. one side usually has a question or something that

you want to solve. in English, it's usually a translation of a word, or a

grammar rule. the other side has the explanation or the answer in your

language. for vocabulary, a lot of people suggest adding images to the new word

you're trying to learn. I agree with this, but only if it's for beginner to

elementary English. starting at the intermediate level, words are not easily

defined with an image and you will waste time trying to find the right image. what

is much better from beginner to advanced, even for myself, learning much more

academic technical English as a native speaker, is to write examples! examples

using the grammar, the vocabulary, putting it in sentences. things to remind you of

the correct usage and this will translate directly into better

conversational English and quicker, much quicker memorization! But whoa whoa whoa! that

was stupid :D don't stop there! read your examples out

loud! it's the easiest, quickest way to improve your pronunciation and speaking

confidence by yourself! read your examples out loud and make new examples

with the vocabulary or the grammar each time you see the flashcard. like, let's

say you're learning a new verb. that's easy enough to

memorize, you can memorize quite easily the base form of a verb. but can you

conjugate it? do you know what prepositions it uses? and are you even

comfortable using it in a sentence? if you answered no to any of those, then you

are not ready to use that in your conversational, spoken English! so in your

flashcards, write examples, and each time practice! conjugate verbs, try using the

word in a sentence, say it out loud so that you are ready to understand it when

native speakers use it, and to feel more comfortable when you use it! but my

biggest advice! my biggest advice when using flashcards! only make flashcards if

you are going to review out loud! 1) your brain learns much faster and

memorizes things much easier when you use different parts of your body and

stimulate your brain in different ways when learning. this is scientific fact! do

it! and 2nd) like reading, speaking out loud will help to improve your

pronunciation and will improve your confidence, because you are actually

saying the words! if you wait until you're in the middle of a conversation

to practice, to say a new word for the first time, because you've only been

saying it in your head, you will stumble! you will fail! you will– you will choke! so

use your flashcards as the perfect opportunity to prepare yourself for

those types of situations! now let's talk about how often you should study your

flashcards. this is the number one reason I recommend apps like Anki. apps like

Anki tell you when to study or when to review your flashcards. on Anki, each time

you see a flashcard, you can mark how well you knew it: not at all, eh kind of

alright, pretty good, and excellent! based on that response,

Anki will show you the –FLASHCARD– the flashcard in one minute, one day, one week, one month,

one year! Phew. but how many flashcards should you make? slow down! slow dowwwn!

this is where many people fail! don't make a lot. DON'T DO IT! promise me you will not worry

about the quantity, the number of new vocab words you're trying to learn. focus

on how well you know the words. if you can conjugate the verbs, if you're

comfortable using the word, and if you're comfortable saying it out loud! if you

are a regular person, a regular language learner like me and you, do not make more

than five new flashcards each day. and look at this – five new words a day

translates to one thousand eight hundred and twenty five new words each year! and

those are just the words you're making flashcards for! don't try to become a

human dictionary, try to become a real fluent speaker. someone who uses less

vocabulary, but communicates much, much more effectively! the app I really

recommend is Anki. there's a link down there if you want to download it. also a

link to a video that explains how to use it

more easily. so what's your experience with flashcards? have you used them

before? do you like them? why or why not? flashcards aren't for everybody, but no

and foes because they don't know the story John McAfee is a big fan of verge

he apparently stated that there could get to 15 cents then there were

photoshopped images of him saying they could get to $15 on messenger everyone

went crazy verse price has not recovered since then it's been just up and down up

and down fluctuation because so much news it's good news and the bad news and

then good bad news it's impossible for the coin to

do absolutely anything right now but here it is to the verge people I stated

that verge might possibly rise over the long term to 15 cents which is an

increase of thousand five hundred percent over its price at the time if

you believe I'm so stupid to predict the rise of one hundred and fifty thousand

percent which is fifteen dollars then you need to back off on the drugs now

yeah it'd be really crazy for him to protect one hundred and fifty thousand

for a percent increase but you know verge has hit the fifteen cents

it has its all-time high is almost double that you guys can see verge is

currently sitting right here still comfortable at number 22 as it moved

much since the last video we made now these are the apparent claims that are

being made against McAfee so the xvg whale tweeted and I believe this tweet

is um has been deleted since deleted I didn't want things to go this direction

but this is the reason for the McAfee xvg fun he told me the day before I met

Sun Rock that he wanted 1.1 million dollars worth of aetherium within 24

hours we didn't pay him hence thud these are real he may claim fake or

a hack now what this is is the text right it just apparently text from

McAfee to verge or to the owner verge I don't know exactly who the techs are to

also guys you guys are gonna notice a little bit of a weird thing in these

tanks so we're gonna run into that but I want to tell you guys about it if you

guys didn't catch it so let's see um he said I'm moving to other currencies that

have given me millions to support them and formally announcing my removal of

support from verge explaining that I made a huge error in supporting

Ferrara's on the apology ball blog offer me Bo blah blah I promise that verge

will be one-quarter of what it was before I promoted it my first tweet

urging everyone to abandon verge is coming out tomorrow right so yeah

basically the part that really got my attention is the fact that he's saying

that he's moving on to other currencies they have given me millions to support

them so how much of what he is saying is actually true and based on his opinion

and how much is it you know people paying him to support

their coin that's one thing that you really have to be careful with when it

comes to these things and there's a lot of I'm gonna call it politics when it

comes to this a lot of marketing a lot of people paying for comments so you're

not gonna know what's real and what's not real that's why it's always

important to do your own research so I have a daily deal with Saturday oh

here's a screenshot of my daily take which started yesterday I anticipate

2023 million dollar take from now to February 14th that's absolutely crazy

from this one trivial project I do not expect anywhere near as much from xpg

Windows and Linux and other platforms so it is hard not to blame them I think

virgin has potential the rate protocol has potential currently though they have

to get you know gain trust back from the community I see the price starting to

fall the price is very you know steady here was just the one run up and then an

instant correction the verge needs people to trust them they need you know

people to help on the the train and if you guys look at the coin market catbird

she was sat at number 22 it's been sat around about there for the last few days

you know first wants to be a big contender and he said you know come back

in the 20s and eventually try and contend for a

top 10 if it does we're gonna see Burge hit ridiculous numbers just by

calculations if verge if verge of hit number 9 they had an 11 billion dollar

market cap then that's basically what five times this so five times the price

and you would get almost a dollar version would be almost a dollar if it

made a run for the top nine right now but obviously as cryptocurrency total

market cap is going up we are going to have the market caps here be

significantly higher so it's still very possible for an unknown for an eleven

billion dollar market cap over at number 22 but yet I do want to see verge you

know kind of make its move make its impact and the number one thing I think

they have to do to do this is to gain back the trust of the community john

mcafee you know is causing issues for them I don't know what you know he can

he that they said he can claim these are fake or a hack but these are apparently

text messages where he also sent a picture and you can see he's making

money we have transfer now 14 Bitcoin not to be late could you confirm the ads

one more time the big home like he's making a ton of money off this and it

just goes to show you have to do your own research you have to do your own

research is if you don't you're gonna get burned by someone who's being paid

to talk now trust me it happens I get offers all the time saying oh like we'll

pay you if you promote this coin and I'm not even you know I only have 5,000

followers not that I don't you know love you guys all I love you all but I don't

even have like five hundred thousand followers like John McAfee does on

Twitter so he's probably getting offered significantly more money than I am and

you know at that point some people find that hard to turn down it really depends

on the person I personally choose to say no to most of them I only promote the

ones that I actually enjoy I have the ones that actually like the ones I

actually trust verge wasn't one of those they haven't reached out to be a salt

why promote verge I don't think I've made any video promoting any specific

thing yet that someone's asked me to I just promote things that I like in

one comes by and I really like this ICO or I really like this new cryptocurrency

then I will make a video on it no problem if I you know research their

coin but just you know because they pay me I don't feel right doing it I know a

lot of you guys have your money at stake so it would be completely unfair to you

guys if I were to do that but yeah I mean some people don't really care John

McAfee might be one of those people it would

not surprise me if he was one of those people they did negotiate down his feet

he jabs to 100,000 and the xbg whale offered 70,000 but still like it's a

shame that they're having a bid for his twitter when you know cuz he manipulates

the market so much that's it is what it is there's always gonna be manipulation

by people who are powerful you're not gonna be able to you know not have that

just because he is so big of an influence people are gonna trust him

what he says is going to affect the market especially a market so new like

cryptocurrency it really is going to affect it completely but verge like I

said first needs to earn back trust the community rate has to go super well they

have to you know keep steadily building up to keep steadily announcing

communicate with the community yeah that's one of the biggest issues I see

if people just lost trust in the in the team and the developing team they've

completely lost trust so if virgin wants to go up send a bunch of times they need

to start gaining trust and that's going to build bring their coin up over time

as long as everything else along the way they meet deadlines and everything that

they release the rate protocol etc is going to be you know successful so guys

I already knew many of my new colleagues. There are only a few I hadn't met,

and those are mostly the younger players.

It's been great fun so far.

The training sessions were extremely exhausting.

My game has never been one of hanging out in the front and staying in the center.

That's what others make of it.

I try to help the team where I can, even defending.

Football has changed a bit.

Even as a center forward you can't always stay in the front.

You need to take on many tasks, including the defense.

I've always done that, I like it, and I enjoy setting up goals.

I don't mind winning 4:0 without scoring a single goal.

I regard team success as an equivalent to personal success.

That's how I've done it in the past and how I'll continue doing it.

The coaches want for us to work intensely and on an extremely

high level from the very start.

We kicked things off full speed yesterday.

It was a very exhausting session. Today's was the same. We're only here for five days

and it's not long until the match against Leverkusen.

So we don't have any time to lose. We need to be

at a hundred percent right away.

The coaches are trying to prepare us for the upcoming matches,

the next weeks and months.

So it's all good.

I'm impressed by their ways. I already said it after working with Joachim Löw:

I benefit a lot from working with this kind of person, whether it be

in football or any other situation in life.

It's a huge honor to work with someone like Jupp Heynckes.

He has a great personality that's palpable when he enters a room

or talks to us.

He captivates the entire team and

dedicates a lot of time to each and every one of the players.

That's why I love meeting people like that,

and being able to incorporate this experience into my professional life.

The Best Opening Scenes In Superhero Movies - Duration: 6:06.

Whether it's introducing an iconic character, creating a mind-blowing battle, or surprising

fans with the unexpected, first impressions are key to a successful superhero cinematic

universe.

With that in mind, let's take a look at some of the genre's greatest opening scenes.

Batman

These days, Batman is everywhere, but in 1989, comic book fans were still waiting for the

Dark Knight take over the silver screen.

They were also ready for something darker than TV's Batman; something that felt more

like the comics written by Alan Moore and Frank Miller.

Director Tim Burton was able to impress even the most diehard fans with his Gothic take

on Gotham City in this opening scene—a city cloaked in darkness, with buildings that looked

like they'd been designed by a drunken Fritz Lang.

Enter, Batman.

Two thugs, having recently mugged a family, are busy counting their ill-gotten cash when

But bullets can't stop Batman.

And then we get to hear the most iconic superhero line of all time

Blade

Long before the MCU existed, there was 1998's Blade: the first successful Marvel movie.

Directed by Stephen Norrington, the film's opening fight scene was hailed by critics

as "the best set piece in comic book history."

A man is lured inside the world's nastiest nightclub by a beautiful woman, and we witness

his revulsion as he realizes the ceiling is rigged with blood-spurting sprinklers.

Then they start baring fangs, and we realize this poor sap is about to become dinner.

But before the feast begins, in comes a sword-wielding superhero: the half-human, half-vampire Blade,

played by Wesley Snipes.

He stakes, blasts and cuts with an impressive array of weapons.

This opening grabs your attention right off the bat.

Spider-Man 2

What makes Tobey Maguire's Spider-Man so relatable is that underneath the costume, he's just

an ordinary guy with ordinary problems.

Directed by Sam Raimi, the film finds Peter Parker on the verge of losing his job at a

pizza restaurant.

With only seven and a half minutes to make a career-saving delivery, Peter changes into

his Spidey suit.

"He stole that guy's pizzas!"

Of course, Spider-Man can't help but rescue some kids from oncoming truck, but he loses

his job when he delivers the pizzas late.

Being super isn't all it's cracked up to be, especially when you're broke, lonely, and

tired of saving everyone but yourself.

The Dark Knight

The opening to 2008's The Dark Knight is one of the all-time greats.

Filmed on 70mm IMAX, Christopher Nolan's masterpiece begins with a creeping score that

warns us something's up... just before a bunch of thugs wearing clown masks kick off an elaborate

heist.

They take over a bank, bantering about the Joker, their enigmatic boss.

As they work, they pick each other off, one by one, until there's only one thug standing.

Before he can get away, an injured mob enforcer asks him:

"Honor… respect.

Look at you?

What do you believe in, huh?"

That's when the clown pulls off his mask to reveal the horrific face of the Joker.

The Clown Prince of Crime has been there the whole time!

As he prepares to make his getaway, he delivers his chilling credo:

"I believe whatever doesn't kill you makes you stranger."

Watchmen

Say what you want about the movie as a whole, but there's no denying that the opening to

Zack Snyder's Watchmen perfectly captures the bloody beat-down of Alan Moore's graphic

novel.

We open on the Comedian, a so-called superhero who's done more dirty deeds than derring-do.

The grizzled nihilist is alone, contemplating life's many sick jokes, when a mysterious

opponent storms into the room.

"Just a matter of time I suppose."

As the shadowy assassin beats the Comedian into oblivion, Snyder employs his trademark

slow-mo.

The entire fight is underscored by Nat King Cole's "Unforgettable," and as the Comedian

is tossed out the window, we're left with an opening no superhero fan will ever forget.

Deadpool

We all know that Deadpool doesn't play by the rules, and neither does the opening of

his R-rated blockbuster.

Who would've thought that a movie about a deformed mutant assassin would open with Juice

Newton's "Angel of the Morning"?

The song plays as the camera winds through a suspended tableau of destruction, while

the hilarious credits tell us to watch out for "God's Perfect Idiot," a "Hot Chick,"

and a "British Villain."

Of course, the awesomeness doesn't stop there.

Immediately after the credits, we see the Merc with a Mouth perched on an overpass,

jamming to "Shoop".

Deadpool breaks the fourth wall to say hello to the audience

"Oh Oh Hello."

before jumping off the overpass and landing in an SUV full of villains.

We get to watch the slow-mo credits play out in real time, gory and hysterically over-the-top.

It sets the perfect tone for the madness to follow.

"Did i leave the stove on?"

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2

When your 2017 movie starts with a 1980s Kurt Russell, you know you're doing something right.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 opens with Ego the Living Planet and Meredith Quill cruising

down back roads of Missouri.

We're caught up in the romance of it all—not to mention the amazing digital work done on

Russell's face.

The lazy afternoon doesn't last long, though.

34 years into the future, everyone's favorite a-holes are preparing for battle and, as you

can expect, bickering.

When an oversized space squid comes tearing out of the sky, the ensuing fight is accompanied

Baby Groot dancing to ELO is possibly the most adorable scene in the entire Marvel Cinematic

Control- Now having control over you life is good.

But being controlling and trying to control others is not.

If you try to rule over everything youre going to be extremely unhappy.

Its going to turn you into a very tense person.

A lot of the time things don't go as planned- that's just the way life works- we get a

few curve balls every now and then.

And if your constantly trying to be in control and things don't go your way then you will

often feel sad- and disappointed.

Having control is a very powerful and addictive feeling so its something we tend to holds

on to.

But if you want to be the best you and be happy you need to learn to let things go.

something all of us do way too much.

The best way to be more content in your life is to be more grateful of what you do have.

Gratitude brings in happiness.

Being grateful will help you make better decisions and help you obtain success.

Its important to remember that even if you're not yet where you want to be in life that

you be happy for what you do have- and work hard towards your goals.

Always count your blessings.

Most of us take having a roof over our head and a hot meal for dinner every night for

granted.

But this is something we need to remember to be grateful for because the sad truth is

not everyone is able to have that.

At number 3--Always right- No one wants an egotistical- arrogant- pompous friend.

Also its important to remember no one is perfect.

Now sure a lot of the time youre going to be right about things- but just as often your

going to be wrong about things too.

And one of the worst things you can do is push your opinions on how to do something

onto others.

Sure some friendly advice might be nice.

But if you persistently keep pushing your going to annoy a lot of people.

Just because something is right for you doesn't mean it will work for someone else.

Also if you think youre always right then that means everyone else is always wrong and

when you think about it that's pretty unlikely isn't it?

Coming in at number 2--Comparisons- its extremely easy to compare yourself to other people but

that doesn't mean you should.

Theres always going to be some out there who you consider to be better then you.

Now while its great to gain inspiration from someone its not good to constantly compare

yourself to other people.

Comparing yourself to others is just counterproductive and harmful to your self esteem.

Successful people have the mindset that the only person they can compete with today is

the person they were yesterday.

You need to focus on yourself and how you can achieve your goals.

Rather then comparing your life to another persons.

And at number 1--Negativity- being negative is something that comes all to easily to people.

We all have our bad days.

People are usually negative when they are unhappy with their lives and so they attack

others to make themselves feel better.

But you need to remind yourself that as easy as it is to be negative about something its

just as easy to be positive.

Also pointing out negatives in life is extremely counter productive.

If you have a negative attitude your life is going to be more difficult and less fulfilling

then it should be.

So the next time you realize your about to say something negative stop yourself and try

to look on the positive side.

with an unidentified flying object.

This was presented along with the implied announcement that the U.S. government has

set up a secretive military program to identify and monitor extraterrestrial threats, the

Advanced Aviation Threat Identification Program.

The program only ran from 2012 to 2017, they say, which is a short five years in the longer

timeline of U.S. government investigations into UFO activity, going back the Roswell

incident in 1947.

Rather than fully disclosing the contents of the U/S. government�s knowledge of ET�s

and UFO�s, the recent announcements can be seen as psyop to confuse and misdirect

the UFO research community away from other important pieces of this timeline.

This type of obfuscation offers cover to black budget programs while subtly announcing the

presence of a war plan against extraterrestrials.

Absent from the current conversation about UFO�s is the broad body of investigation

into alien activity around nuclear missile facilities, and a number of credible reports

indicating that UFO�s have been able to disarm ICBM�s and other components of the

nuclear arsenal.
