Waching daily Apr 25 2018

what a gift mr. Dabney provided allow me to ease your pain

fluor events unfold naturally turned out in our favor as you said it would this

obsessed came our way without the hindrance of that most aberrant of human

bodies I did indeed listen for a moment there I miss Aaron

stopped sir perhaps now you can accept that the primitive cognitive

entanglement stirred the rails mr. Allen today

what's good YouTube Warstu here if you're into flash season 4 this is a channel

for you so make sure to subscribe with notifications turn on so this week's

episode of the flash is episode 19 called fury road which sees the return

of system code from the crisis on earth X crossover so it's pretty interesting

so let's just recap briefly last week's episode ralph was killed by Barry Allen

essentially because Barry Allen wouldn't let him kill the thinker so Barry Allen

now has to do with the consequences of actually killing a Ralph himself so the

thinker seems to be making some kind of device and that device will allow him to

bring the enlightenment on Central City so guys you know how to do these

breakdowns I literally go over what I think is important and then go over some

theories of what's coming up in the next coming up a couple of episodes so the

episode started with Harry wells being in Gideon's Time Vault room and we find

out that he's going to be turned into a simpleton because the thinking cap or

replica cap as DeVoe calls him cause it has been fried due to dark matter and

he's gonna lose all his intelligence and basically won't be the person he's gonna

be so iris West and Barry Allen West Allen go back to therapy

iris West as a mitten that she's down about the death of Ralph Barry Allen has

been in a stubborn self making out it's not phasing him but we all know that's a

lie so the thinker is going to poison his wife again we're not really poison

put tears in her drink until he realizes that she is happier than she's ever been

now her Clifford is back in his own body so Cisco comes up with an idea for two

thinking caps so Harry wells and Cisco can both try

and outsmart the thinker but Harry wells shuts him down because he knows it's

slowly going to destroy him so Caitlin snow is it's kind of strange

because she didn't like killer frost but now she wants to killer frost bat so the

main narrative of this episode is team flash moving the nuclear bomb fallouts

so DeVoe can't get him because obviously whatever the alignment is whatever this

device is I think it needs a nuclear metahuman in order to have a nuclear

explosion with this device so they go to earth X to get citizen cold because any

version of citizen cold captain Cole and they're the geniuses with the plan

so he's getting chased by a thick black siren which is pretty cool kind of cool

to see Kate Cassidy on another roll she nailed it seems a lot more opie than the

version that they have on arrow which is very interesting

so citizen Cole consents of that Barry Allen isn't telling the truth about the

deaths so it gives a motivational speech about 18,000 people 400 I think that's

the number dying on his planet and he had to embrace it he had to deal with it

so Barry essentially has to deal with the death of Ralph because he killed him

so the plan gets destroyed like always the thinker out thought everyone but he

didn't out think the fact that he can't actually predict he can't forecast

people's feelings and because Barry seems to have some post-traumatic stress

from Ralph being killed the flash didn't actually take up like siren and black

siren kind of swung everyone on out so the thinker disappeared back to his

sinking lair and was absolutely raging and his wife the mechanic betadine space

he said to him you can't figure out feelings which is foreshadowed in the

fact that she is feeling unwanted she's feeling useless so this is basically the

thinker's wife Marc Molly's the mechanic essentially is going to get her revenge

and she is going to see their own light and realize at some point that the plan

she doesn't want no part to do with it at some point in this episode so what's

interesting is we don't actually have understand what black sirens like Earth

X sirens motivations are for kind of wanting to blow up central city I mean I

guess it's because Barry Allen came to Earth X and kind of killed the green

arrow there and killed like power girl and all that kind of stuff I guess

that's the accidental reason so towards the end of episode citizen Cole goes

back to his other things getting married which is kind of cute I guess

we find out that Caitlin snow can actually have killer frost back she just

needs to find something to a night unite the kind of powers in Wadena then right

at the end it's kind of interesting so they go back to therapy and peri on and

break Stein he actually admits that he feels guilty for killing Ralph well he

should feel guilty because it's 100% his fault now I understand why Raph didn't

kill the thinker because then the season would be over because what's the season

without a villain what's interesting is at the end of the

episode we see the thinker watching fall out in August it's almost like he wanted

fallout to go there just a side note fallout was with Tracy brand and they

decided not to show Tracy brand which is kind of if you're gonna bring her name

up at least have her appear in a cameo role at us it's kind of pointless so at

the end the thinker Clifford DeVoe Basie tells his wife that she's basically just

his engineer until the plans over and we see her weep in writing in we see her

crying so next week's episode is called therefore she is which now I think is

gonna be a full on revenge episode we're not revenge we're gonna find out exactly

who she is why she's doing why she's helping him obviously we know that the

mechanic is the thing his wife but for the last couple of episodes she looks

absolutely pissed I guess you could say so we do know that the enlightenment is

some kind of device it's gonna include an explosion some kind of dark matter so

this episode was actually really good I'm really looking forward to seeing

where she's going but the thinker is Opie he's so powerful now can he be

stopped yes he can but I think mystery girl coffee shop girl jitters go wedding

girl I think she's gonna be key to it so guys let me know in the comment box down

below what do you think of episode did you love it did you hate it

what didn't you like about it any bonus videos you want down below let me know

guys and I will make them I will have my trader breakdown up a

Project Management Terminology | 10 Terms Every Project Manager Should Know - Duration: 11:13.

Hi! Are you working on a project and heard tons of project terminologies that

you just weren't 100% sure exactly what they meant? Well in this video I'm going

to share with you my top 10 project terminologies that I have defined just

for you!

Hi I'm Adriana Girdler and I'm president of CornerStone Dynamics and

MyVisualVision.com and I'm also a project management professional. And in

this video, as I mentioned, I want to share with you the terminology that I

come across all the time, that I do find within my projects, some people are not

100% sure exactly what they are. And you can see them right up here to my right.

All right my first one is, and I have my little cheat sheet here, is sponsor.

There also known as project sponsor or an executive sponsor and the official

definition for this: is this is a person who ultimately has authority over the

project this person provides funding, direction, and is the champion of the

project to the organization. This is a really critical role and interestingly

enough I find sometimes it's a ghost role. Organizations will have projects

and they'll put a sponsor in it, yet the sponsor is not acting as the true

champion in the organization, so as important as this definition is, the rule

is even more critical, and would suggest strongly that in your projects if your

champion is kind of hard to find, you should really take a look and ensuring

that you find your sponsor so they can start promoting stuff in the

organization. Number two: stakeholder. Now that is specific people that have a

stake and the outcome of the project most of the time stakeholders come from

within company but depending on the project you can have external

stakeholders as well like suppliers. So this is really everybody who's

potentially involved that could be from the sponsor, all the way down to project

team members. Number three is steering committee: a group of high-level

stakeholders who are responsible for guidance on strategic direction,

roadblock removal, and general approval of project related items. Now your

sponsor may or may not be part of your steering committee, but they're usually

high-level executives who have the ability to one, remove roadblocks which

is really important. Two: ensure that the priority of the organization is still

being kept in check within the scope of the project.

They're there to approve items that are happening and really

keep aligned with a strategy of what's happening overall, steering communities

are excellent, highly recommend it, sometimes I find organizations will

actually try to skip the steering committee and do one on one, don't do it

please please don't do it, really have that formalized meeting, it makes a huge

difference in successes of projects versus, kind of the one offs that happen.

Number four is scope statements: now this is probably the heartbeat of your

project and what is a scope statement? Well it describes what the project is

about, it's a boundaries of what will and will

not happen so we talk a lot about what's in scope and out of scope, that's what

the scope statement does. Highly recommend as a project manager, if you

are a project manager that you work with your sponsor in creating the scope

statement, this is going to give the direction that you need to ensure you

have project success and everyone is then very much aware of what they're

supposed to deliver on. Number five is gold plating: and what is gold plating?

Well it's adding extra features or flexions to product or the project or an

actual service that your project is doing, that's not included in the scope

statement, and is usually done by the team to no additional cost to the

project. Now it's interesting because gold plating may seem like a really

great idea "oh my god we're giving extra stuff" but I promise you it's actually a

bad idea and from a project management standpoint we actually really highly

recommend you do not gold plate. It can create issues without you realizing. You

created a scope statement, you did all your planning accordingly, and if you go

and do over above items, they actually can be detrimental sometimes I thought

recognizing and realizing it, so really get clear on your scope statement,

understand what the needs of your customers are, what the needs of the

sponsors are, get that all down in writing so that everyone can move

forward working towards that plan, and please do not goal plate. Number six

scope creep: this is in that line of gold plating, but it's slightly different and

the definition for this is: it refers to uncontrolled changes in the scope due to

interference of stakeholders, or customers, or

due to misunderstandings of the scope by the project manager. So I've seen

projects killed by scope creep because what happens is usually internally a

manager will say "oh just add this to the project scope statement" without taking

into account resource, budget, time and now you're scrambling you and your

project team, are scrambling to get this extra stuff done because someone thought

it would be a good idea without understanding the full ramifications of

it. It's the job of the project manager and the team to stop scope creep. Now that

being said, yeah you may have new items that have to be added to a project, but

go through the formal channel of change control. Makes a big difference.

Number seven, charters: I love charters so here's a definition for charters: it's a

document that kicks off the project, it has project objectives, it has a scope

statement, deliverables, risk assumptions, project organizational charts, roles and

responsibilities, it's created by the PM, which is a project manager, and it's sent

to all the stakeholders who are part of the project for signature. This is your

lifeline in your project, it sets the tone it gives all the information that

your team members need in order to be successful, it lays out the

expectation, what am I responsible for? What are you responsible for? What are we

gonna get this stuff done? And I love a signature part because it makes people

accountable, I've used my project charter in many ways, heavily in the beginning of

a project, and towards the end, more is just a reference document particularly

when I find team members perhaps may not be delivering towards roles and

responsibilities or if a sponsor or steering committee wanted to change

something, we go back to the document. Powerful! Highly recommend it and the

Charter is a must. I do have on my website for free a mini project Charter

template that you can use for smaller projects, you really should have a

charter for everything, because it gives the direction needed in order to be

successful, so definitely check out my free template, just go down below in the

verbiage, under this video and you can click and get that free download. Number

eight: WBS. Now, you can have a lot of connotations

for those three letters, but I am NOT going to go there, it is work breakdown

structure. And what is a work breakdown structure? Well, it break down

the project deliverable in a hierarchical fashion, in manageable

sections. It's very similar to organizational chart, in fact in one of

my past videos I actually talked about a work breakdown structure, when you're

looking to organize your time, but a work breakdown structure is something like

the Charter, it's the second core piece of document but I could not run a

project without, it takes massive concepts and breaks them down into these

manageable chunks so you have an understanding as to how you're going to

deliver on your major milestones, your tasks, etc. It just makes your project

work a lot easier because you now have an understanding how to break it down.

Number nine: action plans. Also known as work schedules, also known as work plans,

also known as schedules, and I actually call my action plans work breakdown

schedule, or even a structure so what exactly is all that? Well it really is

the project plan that tells the project manager all the tasks that need to occur

to complete the project with, responsibilities and due date. So just

like the charter,s our first key document that delivers all the information,

your work breakdown structure allows you to understand what the hierarchy is so

that you can then go to this next part which is your action plan, right! What is

it that we're gonna do? Who's responsible for what? What are all the tasks

associated with it? Again the project manager works off of this, it's a live

document, it's constantly changing being updated, because as time progresses,

things are changing within your project, and you have to manage it, do not manage

a project without some sort of work plan schedule, WBS, it doesn't matter what you

call, it but you need one, and ironically enough I do find some team members I go

oh everyone will take care of their own tasks, uh-uh-uh,

one single location, it is critical for project success. Last but not least

number ten: is risk planning. So what is risk planning? It's a systematic approach

to identifying all possible failures in a process, product or service. So really

your looking at the failures within your

project. Now I have a tool that I use and absolutely love, it's called a FMEA, which

is a failure mode effect analysis. You can find them on the Internet,

and it really looks at potential causes, where those failures can happen, it has a

great ranking system, once you determine what your ranking is, you can do action

plans, mitigation plans, and you add them to your project plan, and it is just a

really lovely way to ensure that when risk comes, because risk always happens

within a project, something occurs, I've never come across a project that does

not have any risk, you are going to mitigate it, and you're gonna minimize, as

I like to say, the gaping hole, I'm either gonna fall into a huge pothole and I

can't get out, or I'm gonna trip over a crack because I've done all my risk

mitigation. So that's my top ten list. If you want more information on project

management, I highly recommend you visit PMI.org, that's project management

institute dot org, great wealth information project management tips and trades and

templates and all that fantastic stuff. As well as don't forget to go to the

verbiage below this video, under the show more section, and you can download my

free Charter template, it's for many charters, just small stuff that allows

you to be very controlled, and then again giving you the structure you need to be

successful on projects. If you like this video please give it a thumbs up, please

make sure you subscribe, share this video with your friends, and family, and

colleagues. I really would appreciate it. Anyway, you have a fantastic day and

we'll see you at the next video. Thanks!

Memories of Mars - Dev Diary 05 - Crafting & Devices - Duration: 2:49.

Crafting and devices

Entering the martian landscape can be a daunting task.

You'll soon realize that you've been left with next to no resources at your disposal.

Lucky for us clones, with a little searching we can start finding and gathering items directly off the ground.

Once we've gathered enough unrefined ore, our next job will be to use our mobile 3d printer to refine some.

Once refined we can then craft ourselves a pulse excavtor. This allows us to mine from larger mining nodes, something we wouldn't be able to do with just our hands.

Mining nodes will provide us with a greater amount of ore at one time, and once depleated they dissappear.

Our next step would be to find an efficient refining process to continue building and crafting our various devices, player bases and items.

Here we can see this player has built a blast furnace. This device will refine ore automatically at a 2 ore to 1 bar ratio, better than our initial mobile 3d printer, which was operating at a 3 to 1 ratio.

With our refined ore we switch over to our larger wall mounted 3d printer and begin crafting all manner of armor, scopes and other items needed to help aid our survival on mars.

With our player equipped and ready for the world, they've decided to put some of their flops into their upkeep terminal.

This terminal provides us the ownership of our player base, as well as letting us set who has different building and device access permissions.

Before they leave to explore Mars further they have built up a stasis chamber and made sure to register with it.

This will provide us a safe respawn point directly inside our player base if we happen to come under unfortunate circumstance in the world, as well as highlight it's location on your player map and compass, so you'll never lose direction of your home.

That's all there is to it when it comes to refining. See you on mars.

Pt. 4 — Lowcountry Local First - Duration: 10:23.

That same $100 spent at a locally-owned business, leads to $45 of local reinvestment.

For Lowcountry Local First, holding onto that extra value is a crucial part of developing

sustainable, and vibrant local economies.

So we are a non-profit that's based here in the Lowcountry area, and we exist solely

to support local, independent businesses of all types, all sizes, shapes, industries.

So to us it's those businesses who are really building the character of this place,

and really protecting what makes Charleston unlike any other place in the world.

So we want to make sure they have a fair chance at succeeding, that they have a level playing ground.

Really everything we do is built around building a sustainable local economy.

And a big part of that is agriculture focused, naturally in South Carolina,

a big driver of our economy is agriculture.

So we do a lot of training and programming around the farm community.

Lowcountry Local First targets the specific needs of the food and farming community, as

one component of their larger mission to strengthen the local economy.

One of the cornerstones of their work supporting local farmers,

is the Growing New Farmers Program.

We saw a need in 2010, for closing the gap in the aging farming population.

So in South Carolina, and nationwide, farmers are getting older and older and there aren't

enough farmers coming in to take their place.

So we wanted to close that gap and reduce some of the barriers for people entering into

that profession, and help them to be successful at it.

The program we have, like I mentioned, is a six month certificate in sustainable agriculture

through the College of Charleston.

We have Monday night lectures, from April through September.

And whatever we talk about, be it seed starting, greenhouse production, weed management, integrated

pest management, post-harvest handling, all those types of things, when we talk about

it on Monday, we come here and practice it on Thursdays and Wednesdays with small groups

of the participants.

In addition to classroom and hands-on work, participants have the opportunity to learn

from food and farming businesses across the Charleston area

through apprenticeships and field trips.

This allows students to start building relationships in their community, and gives them a look

into the diversity of local food actors.

I took the Growing New Farmer Program in 2015.

I was working on some other farms at the time, and I think July that year I took a job here,

just a farmhand at Middleton, and by October I was promoted to manager, and you know the

rest is kind of history.

Now I'm helping teach the program that I took two years ago, so it's a really cool

full circle I guess.

The Growing New Farmers Program is super important to what we're doing, because it's all

fine and dandy if we can have these farms out here,

but we need people that are interested in running them.

And so I really hope that that ends up being an avenue for us, that we can go and say hey,

do you have anyone coming out of your program that might be interested,

teaching them how to apply for funding.

You know, there's all types of grant money out there and USDA money out there, and when

there's a will there's a way, we just need to find the people

that are that motivated and that excited.

This crash course in sustainable agriculture introduces students to the many skills needed

to be a successful farmer, like how to manage a successful business, identify land, and

build key relationships.

And then beyond the program, Lowcountry Local First continues to support alumni as they

transition into a new role in the food system.

When I was first considering going into farming, I never thought about that, but that's like…

You know, I was thinking of the challenge of growing, but then it's like the challenge

of actually accessing the community, whether it's through farmers markets, ,

or chefs, or wholesalers.

And that's what I like about the program, is they give you technical knowledge

on how to grow things, and soil health, and pests and diseases, and all kinds of things like that,

but then also they give us marketing and sales and networking information

and stuff like that too.

So it's kind of an all encompassing program.

One of the big barriers for new farmers is actually

identifying land to use.

What we're very familiar with is sort of an inheritance model, where somebody's

granddaddy grew up with a farm, their father and mother took that farm over,

and then that farm gets passed on to them.

So that structure doesn't exist in the same way that it used to, we have people pursuing

different careers, and there are many different options, and travel is more possible.

So what we see are a lot of people coming into this as a second career, or a later in

life career, and not having that access to that land or that already existing

business structure can be a challenge for them.

So we have a system where we have people that have land and want to identify farmers,

we can help link them up with people who have gone through the program.

Growing New Farmers participants leave with a better understanding of the structure and

character of their local food system.

Even those who choose not to enter farming as a full-time profession, have ample space

to find their niche in the food system.

So let's say maybe they get halfway through the program and they realize oh my god,

this is really hard, I'm really dirty all the time, I love it, I appreciate our farmers

but wow, I thought I was going to be a farmer and this really isn't going to be my thing.

Those are successes as well, because those people end up being food systems leaders.

So they go out in the community, they understand what it takes to farm, and they understand

the value of that, and they go on to do other things.

So overtime we've built this community and seen people go on to do really great things,

and they understand the program and the value of it, so they end up being mentors

and sort of giving back to the program as well.

These diverse food system advocates and their commitment to supporting other members of

the community, help connect the Growing New Farmers Program back to Lowcountry Local's

larger mission.

And you know, that kind of relationship building is what solidifies that local economy

and that approach.

I like to think we're all just glorified matchmakers, at the end of the day.

Whether it's food businesses connecting or a payroll company and restaurant, whatever

it is, we want to make sure people know each other, and build relationships not just transactions.

Lowcountry Local First was actually our first home base,

we were one of the first people in the Local Works office,

Jamie, Haley and I had met right before they opened the office here.

And we hit it off, I actually jokingly call her my Business Mom,

and so I go to her for advice a lot, she's a good mentor for us.

Most of my business comes from word of mouth, and I know each and every one

of those employees in there tells people who are interested in gardening about my business.

Beyond building relationships on the ground, and making sure the public is engaged in supporting

local businesses, Lowcountry Local First is making sure that the political leadership

is aware of the needs of small business owners.

We try to make eating local as fun as possible, and remind people that it doesn't have to be a one time thing,

it should be built into their habits and routines.

And so I think over the years that's been really successful, and not just here,

I think across the country eating and buying local is very sexy, and fun, and hip.

So I think now what our, not struggle, but what our challenge is as an organization is

to make sure that those local businesses and farms can continue to succeed.

I mean especially in a place like Charleston where we continue to get national and global

press and attention and we're growing, and like 40 people are moving here a day,

so we have some growing pains, we want to make sure that the locals can continue

to succeed and that our policymakers and decision makers are aware of their struggles as property

pricing continues to rise.

Lowcountry Local First recognizes that local food systems work best within a wider, thriving,

local economy.

They are taking a hands-on approach to community development, to ensure that residents of Charleston

can all benefit from economic growth.

So yeah it's all about getting the right stuff to the right people.

And yeah it's hard, but it's fun and it's rewarding and if your heart's in the right place

and you believe in people, I mean the sky's the limit.

I mean I've been told for three years now that it's not gonna work.

You know, they're not gonna do this, these rich folks aren't gonna do this...

it hasn't been like that at all.

It's been pretty breezy.

As it should be you know, it's just good food, you know, and it's a fun atmosphere,

so who wouldn't want that?

This approach to local food is so unique because Lowcountry Local First recognizes the many

factors that impact food systems.

They are addressing major challenges like access to education, land, local markets,

and the policies that impact our local economies.

In the end, by advocating for this type of diverse community development, Lowcountry

Local is supporting the full context of local food.
