Waching daily May 1 2018

This necklace is made from wild water buffalo teeth.

This pectoral ornament is made up of around 200 wild water buffalo teeth.

Once belonging to a tribe of Naga headhunters, the necklace was a symbol of power.

The piece is comprised of six tiers of teeth affixed to natural fibers and topped with glass beads.

Originating in northeast India, the piece made its way to Australia before it was acquired by Ripley's.

Believe It or Not, Naga headhunters kept a house of skulls in their village,

and men were expected to contribute regularly.

Naga men who didn't were called cows, adding to the necklace's symbolism.

Duckwrth Gives A Thrift Store Makeover - Duration: 5:07.

^- So we all know that musicians can hit the right notes,

^but are they in tune when it comes to style?

Today we're interviewing up and coming hip hop artist

and your soon to be fashion goals, Duckwrth.

Woo! Come on in.

(applause)

^Wave to the live studio audience...

- Hey.

- That doesn't exist.

- Oh, hey.

What's up?

- Man, I'm not gonna lie, I've been stalkin' your Instagram.

- That's there for the stalking.

- One thing that I noticed was

^a picture of you with Kel from 'Good Burger' braids.

^Like little short Kel from 'Good Burger' braids

and I was like, "How does he make

'Good Burger' braids look good?

- It's just my, I just cut my locks shorter.

So then they just kinda like had

this like (makes noise with mouth) look type situation

so I got a couple memes sent my way, so.

- No!

They wish they could pull off the 'Good Burger' braids.

- They wish they could pull them off.

^- You have a very distinct style.

^- Yeah.

^- Like I feel like it's like a mixture of like

^rock and roll and like I stole my grandpa's clothes

^and make them look like an Urban

^Outfitter's catalog like it looks good.

- My comfort is a lot of textures and colors

and like classic like vintage cut.

I went through this whole phase of just like

I was like, "I'm done with denim! I'm over denim!

There's no challenge. I'm gettin' nothin' but slacks."

Now I'm like back to dickies like

on some like old hood shit.

- The only person that I know that

has a lot of slacks in their closet is my dad. (laughs)

- I was goin' through heavy dad stuff.

- The little dad hat.

- Yeah, I went like I 'bout to go

Disney Land with my four kids.

- Okay, so we're gonna put your style to the test.

We're gonna bring in our friend Tristan.

He's a big of yours, he loves your style.

And, we're gonna have you put together a look for him

using only thrift store clothing.

You ready?

- Is Tristan ready?

- We'll find out.

- Alright, cool.

Let's do it.

- Alright, let's do it. (claps)

- Alright let's bring in Tristan. (makes howling sound)

- (yells) What's good?

- What's goin' on?

- Let's do it.

You gotta do that hug too.

- [Selorm] Tristan is our equipment specialist at Buzzfeed.

Got a nice kinda style, beautiful locks.

But, you know he still needs your help Duckwrth.

- I'm here for it.

- Let's do it.

_ I'll try to find something that accents you.

So this is a cool little Adidas track shirt.

I don't know if it's like a salmon or like maybe like a --

- Yeah, I'm feelin' the color.

- I ain't done yet.

- Oh!

- Hold on now.

- I'm gonna put this one with that one.

- Okay, alright.

- And then we got some nice little

Stan Smith's, to compliment.

- Okay.

- We gonna see how this works,

I'm a have you come back.

- Alright and we'll try it out.

- [Selorm] Alright.

^I'm just gonna say, I don't know if we're using this

'cause you haven't included it in the looks.

- Purposefully.

- We need to figure out who is gonna own this jacket.

- There is no jacket.

- Well what is this thing that I'm holding right here.

- That's an illusion.

- I'm gonna let everyone decide.

Who looks better in this?

^Me or Duckwrth, let's see.

^- Alright here we go.

^- Let's see, okay.

^So this is good, it goes with my scarf.

^I don't know if it goes with my scarf.

- I feel if I reach my arms out too far,

you gonna get elbow, but you know, but it's cool though.

I like it.

- It's okay on you.

- I could see it on you.

^- Whatever.

^- Okay, Tristan, hurry up!

Yay!

- We gonna take a little risk here.

Can I get those?

Yes, alright, cool so.

- Oh man.

- Now this, if I murder these, its not a liability.

- Try not cut him.

- I'll try my best.

- Yeah that'd be ideal.

- Sometimes look better when you wash the pants,

so then it has like a natural like tattered look, so.

And if you do this, don't cut it with the pants on.

It'll just work better.

- I love how you're like threatening the people at home

with the --

- Don't have your pants or I will --

- [Selorm] Wah! (laughs)

- One for one.

- Outfit number two, let's do it.

^- Alright.

^- Ooh!

^Look at that boy!

^That boy --

- I feel like I got a gambling addiction.

- You may, you just may have a gambling addiction!

- You got a boat somewhere that you can't pay for.

- Now we gonna try this, this may be a little bit risky.

We got the classic Avirex leather jacket.

(Tristan laughs)

Go ahead and put that on.

- It's got like a story to it.

- Exactly.

- We gotta do a walk around though.

- We gotta do a walk around real quick.

- Listen, I actually like this.

Wait a minute.

- You got a nice little mini chain --

- Yeah.

- Right here.

- Some little jewelry.

- Oh!

Where my phone, I'm about to take a picture of this.

I'm gonna take this home.

- Outfit number two.

- Outfit number two.

- Alright.

- Alright.

^- Outfit number three, let's do it, mm.

^Oh!

^Okay!

- This is right.

- The pants are really what I love the most.

- The pants really kick it off.

You on to something.

- He's like, I know.

- I'm here all week.

- Okay.

- Laters.

(everyone laughs)

I'm with it, this is definitely more comfortable.

- So which one do you like the most?

(drum rolls)

- This one.

This is the best one.

I think this one top to bottom is the best one.

(Duckwrth makes noises)

- Dope, I'm sorry.

Yeah this is nice.

^- [Tristan] The pants I wouldn't have picked as

^to buy on my own but now I gotta get more patterns.

^- [Duckwrth] Now you gotta get more patterns.

^- [Tristan] Now I gotta get more patterns.

^- [Duckwrth] I'm saying slacks.

^You gotta have some slacks.

^- [Tristan] Yeah.

Yeah, top to bottom this is the best one.

- Yeah, alright cool.

- Yeah.

- Alright.

- Yay! (Selworn clapping)

- Thank you, we did it.

- If you gonna get styled like Duckwrth

then you gotta dance like Duckwrth.

- Okay, let's do it.

- You in the club, you know what I'm sayin' like that

you just walked out to dip and you look down at your feet

and you go like boom, like that.

- [Selworn] Shit!

- [Selworn] Oh!

- [Duckwrth] So it's like you always

makin' x's with your feet.

(Duckwrth laughs)

- [Tristan] I'mma fall.

- I'm doin' like the Peter Pan version

where I'm just like kinda like.

- [Tristan] Yeah!

You doin' like a prance.

- Irish step dance!

- Oh, that's it.

There you go.

If all fails, you can just two-step, that's all you need.

- Okay. - Yeah.

- Thank you Duckwrth, okay!

- Yeah.

- Hands in, team, go team, go team.

Uh!

Huh!

Oh that hurt y'all!

[Duckwrth] Oh I'm so sorry.

My bad.

One more time.

- [Selworn] Okay, okay.

[everyone Screams]

Oh yeah!

- We did it, we did it.

- In post y'all gotta put lightin' and stuff and sparks.

Korean Men Talk About Growing Up In America - Duration: 8:35.

- You know The Foot, that roll, it's call Foot.

You never had one?

- No, no, no. - It's a green package right?

^- I know what you're talking about.

^(speaking foreign language)

- Favorite snack, I was like, whoa!

- I never ate it like that.

Just rip everything off and like punch it up into this like,

I don't have time for this shit.

(light music)

- Today I'm here with a couple of

my Korean American friends,

and we're gonna be talking about how we grew up in America

^as Korean immigrants, or international students.

^- I was born in Korea, Seoul.

^I moved to Diamond Bar, D.B.

^Went to college in Boston,

^and then moved back to Diamond Bar.

^- I was born in Korea,

^so I moved out to America in 2002,

^and then I came to California.

^Ever since then, I just, I just stayed here.

^- I came here in 2002 with my family.

^My first place in the United States was Waikiki.

^After Hawaii, I got L.A., O.C., the Fullerton.

^Now I'm living right next to the La Christina,

^- [Evan] Basically California (mumbles).

^but, yeah, yeah, yeah, right.

^- I was born in Korea, 2002,

^our family work decided to move to New Zealand first.

^2006, I moved to the sin city, Las Vegas.

^And then I moved to Idaho for Boise City University.

^- And then you've been living here.

^- For almost a year.

(plucky string music)

^- I don't think I've ever talked about this.

^(speaking foreign language)

^(laughs)

^(speaking foreign language)

^(laughs)

^(speaking foreign language)

^- Thanks to social media,

^(speaking foreign language)

^- I'm an only child, right.

^(speaking foreign language)

^like a brother and a sister.

^(speaking foreign language)

^(all exclaim)

^- That was a thing.

^(speaking foreign language)

^(laughs)

^(speaking foreign language)

(light drum music)

- My close group of friends, we do speak English,

but, it's like back and forth, Korean and English.

- Yeah, just like half, half, right?

We would say one sentence in English,

and we would say the next sentence in Korean.

Most of my guy friends are English-speaking friends,

but almost all female friends are Korean speakers.

Which is interesting.

- My friends, like, more than 70%, they use Korean.

Some of them, they mix use, like one sentence Korean,

one sentence in English.

- The majority of my friends are English-only.

But, I think ever since I moved into California,

it's more both cultures of Korean and America.

^- You guys all do speak Korean in your households, right?

^(speaking foreign language)

^- Hi, Mrs. Lim!

(laughs)

(groovy music)

- I listened to a lot of music.

- Hip-hop.

^- [Evan] I like 50 Cent and The Game.

- I think I was more like an R&B.

^- Oh, Omarion. - Whoo!

^- [Danny] Omarion, Chris Brown.

^(speaking foreign language)

- B2K.

- Bom, bom, bom, that song, right?

- So I picked up a lot of slang,

so a lot of kids make fun of me.

You have to learn English first, and then learn slang.

- So you just dropped like F-bombs?

- No, I didn't curse.

'Cause a lot of rap songs,

grammatically it doesn't make sense,

you know what I mean, right?

TV shows, Friends, Prince of Bel-Air.

- I don't watch any of that shit.

- Pokemon.

- [All] Pokemon!

- My age was 18 right,

so I had to make some cash at that moment,

so like, I got a job.

Coffee place, like a Starbucks in the mall.

I need to get orders from customers, right.

But my English was really, really short.

So this one lady came up, and they're like,

"No, Asian boy, listen up," you know,

and like she keep (mumbles) again and again,

and I'm like, I need to write it down.

- Bring that lady right here.

(laughs)

- I remember your face, still.

- Yeah, that must have helped you a lot,

I mean, especially working.

- It was really hard.

Many nights I cried.

Sorry (laughs).

- In elementary school when I first moved,

I wanted to get a Gatorade,

but I couldn't pronounce it, like how I just said it.

I was like, Getorade.

Hi, can I get a Geterade?

(laughs)

The lady who was working at the cafeteria,

she wasn't really fluent in English either.

She was like, what?

She couldn't get it, so I couldn't buy it.

I remember just going to drink like, fountain water.

Sadness.

(upbeat xylophone music)

- I think in both languages, actually.

- I kind of understand,

but I don't think a lot of viewers who understand...

- [Evan] Wait, what, there's no way!

Korean or--

- I don't think I think that much,

I can't say this, I don't know.

- [Evan] Here's a good one,

do you count in English or in Korean?

- One, no in English.

- English, english?

I count in Korean. - [Danny] Oh, really?

- Yeah, it's a lot faster.

(speaking foreign language)

instead of one, two, three, four, five, six, seven.

- Oh, really, you do it in Korean?

- Whenever I jot down numbers, I always think in Korean.

- [Danny] Oh, really?

No, I process it in English.

- As you speak, I can understand both languages in my mind.

- Right now, I'm thinking in English.

- Okay.

(laughs)

(light music)

- Where I grew up, people used to say

that Asians are minorities here,

but I've never really felt that way,

from middle school to high school

'cause about 80% were Asians.

- Oh, wow.

- Yeah, I was never really picked on,

up until I went to Boston.

Yeah, and then I was like the only Asian out of 400 kids,

and I was like, okay, this is a little weird.

- For me, in middle school, in New Jersey,

a lot of kids called me F.O.B., of course.

F.O.B. stands for fresh off the boat.

It's a daily name that I just had to go through.

Every time I go to school, it's like an insult,

you know, nobody wants to be called F.O.Bs, you know.

But right now it's okay, like I'm all grown up,

we can take it as a joke.

But when you're like 12 or 13, it's traumatic.

What I clearly remember is,

there was this Korean guy in middle school.

He spoke zero Korean,

but he made an effort to speak Korean

so that he could help throughout my school days.

He saw other kids making fun of me.

You know, you're supposed to protect me,

but he like, started making fun of me with them.

And he's like joining them to make fun of me.

^So like that--

^(speaking foreign language)

^(laughs)

I hope this doesn't happen anymore.

- I think when I was in high school,

people called me like High Definition.

- Why is it high def?

- 'Cause the widescreen, 'cause of the eyes.

- No way. - Dude, that is so messed up.

- High definition... - So messed up.

- Something like, I just hope that watching this,

like they will learn not to say in those kind of manner.

(light music)

- Wearing shoes inside.

- Oh, yeah.

- Do you guys realize how dirty your shoes are?

- You go everywhere wearing shoes,

so you have all that germ, and especially like carpets.

- Yeah.

It collects more dust, so it's even worse.

- Carpet flooring is actually my other culture shock.

I've never seen carpet flooring in Korea.

Korean school, your class stays as it is,

and then your teacher.

- You have to move, yeah.

- But in America, the students move, in America.

So in the American school you have to make more friends.

In Korea, you're stuck with them you're entire year.

It was a good culture shock.

I was like, oh, this is cool.

- For me, it's to pay tips after you eat something.

- [All] Yes.

- In Korea, there's no tip culture.

- Hot Cheetos.

Oh, my God, Cheetos, when I first had Hot Cheetos,

it was like party in mouth, I was like, whoa!

What is this?

(relaxing music)

^(speaking foreign language)

- Of course you have a language barrier,

you know, English isn't your first language.

I'm a very outgoing person as you can all see,

but like, when I first moved here,

I got more introverted because I didn't know the language.

I didn't know the culture,

so I was just scared to talk to people.

You just have to break out of that

and if you can't speak English,

it's not stress for you,

it's stress for the person you're talking to. (laughs)

If he doesn't understand, he's gonna get stressed,

^but like, you just have to speak your mind.

^(speaking foreign language)

^(laughs)

^(speaking foreign language)

(bluesy music)

(whooshing and squeaking)

Master The Light - Photo Assignment #12 - YvensB Photo - Duration: 3:16.

hi guys YvensB be here and welcome to a summary number 12 of master like the

lighting assignment group on Facebook this is assignment number 12 this is

absolutely crazy exactly one year of assignments for master the light

the lighting assignment .This is really insane I never thought it would actually last

that long because I never knew how far we could push it but here we are at assignment

number 12 moving forward in this assignment it's super simple there's no

gimmick I'm not gonna make this video ten minutes long we gotta do one thing

that I really love and I think everyone but everyone should do is natural light

so natural photography is one of the really the most either challenging or

best way to approach lighting and understand lighting at its most core

which is the Sun or available light so in this assignment

whatever required to do is actually shoot through the day so we're not gonna

use a constant light or anything I just want you to go outside and shoot without

a strobe or modifier just really available light this will help you

understand the light relation the limits of your camera and the limits of the

dynamic range and also all the Sun behaves and also there were the

conditions that are within nature actually so for this assignment you

don't have to use strobes you don't have to use reflector is not to do anything

but available light that is during the day very important I don't want you to

use the constant light or be at night I really want it throughout the day so

between its eight and six whatever until this daylight available now you shoot

outside or actually in a studio just make sure it's window lights or

available actually comes from the Sun so the reason why we're doing natural light

it's because it's just nice outside spring is starting and I think it's a

good opportunity for us to guys to actually go enjoy the outdoors we've

been stuck in the last few months indoor doing a lot of strobing a lot of

artificial lighting with strobes but this time let's just go outside and have

fun I'm just really your camera and a

subject I'll also be posting a video next week to show you

five tips to actually shoot natural light better there are ways to actually

improve your natural life photography without going crazy and also without

spending too much time in Photoshop so that's it guys the Sermon number twelve

for master like the lighting Simon group again if you're not joined in just make

sure you hit the link that is the first thing that is in the description below

like that you can join the group a lot proven pretty fast if you have any

questions again please fire them in the YouTube comments and if you have any

questions also within the other assignments which are all open now so

just make sure you hit that link that I've posting right now to actually see

the other eleven previous assignments they're all opens if you want to test

him or if you have a research shoot that was done using those elements please

post them in the group below and good luck

Touring a Luxurious Calgary Home | House Tours - Duration: 3:17.

Paul: Sometimes in design you don't have to be careful. We realized that both of us

were gonna live here forever. I think that you just have to embrace

the fact that it's not about resale and you can kind of have some fun. Welcome to our

home, that we like to call Calgary-afornia.

I'm Paul Lavoie and I'm an interior designer.

Doug: I'm Doug Olafson and I'm an accountant and I'm Paul's partner.

Paul: We found this house from a friend. we were walking her dog and she said I know

you always loved that house the person who built that house in the 1961 he's

ready to move so I'd literally rang the doorbell she answered the door with a

little portable suggest no beautiful white pantsuit and perfect white boofed

hair I said I hear you might be selling the only thing and she said darling I'm

packing there's quittance way and then we found

like our dream home sweet this kitchen is really similar to the original

kitchen it was a very formal kitchen this house is mid-century which I wanted

to take it to like mid-century almost like European so all the lights are like

from France or Italy in the kind of get babe in this house this is pure

mid-century Italian I don't think anyone expected us to hang a chandelier that's

bigger this one yeah we hold the blue whale you know we love it and it's

always you know I know Paul has done something great when people walk in and

they're like what

well hostile and I have known it all gets excited because it's sort of a it's

a testing ground for him you know we'll go away somewhere and the next thing I

know it's I show up and there's a new piece of furniture nowhere

this is like true combination of verbs I think in the end this was the closet in

two bathrooms and now we've created like probably Calvary's longest bathroom

while I got these store announced in Rome for curtains billions essentially

we have the ability to bring the inside and the outside

together we've got a lot of friends in the neighborhood you know and in the

summer it sort of brings together a little sense of community we make it

happen like if you want family and friends to be around in your life you

haven't read them over I think that's what the house for us is all about but I

think the people who built this house that's how they felt about it too it was

built for having people

Wondering about Moving On & Growing Up - Duration: 5:41.

I have this thing where, most of the time,

I feel like I can't make a permanent decision.

I'm going to stop making videos.

Light: No.

Light: I like this, but I just don't know what I can do.

Logical: I'll just take a break.

Logical: It's fine.

Darkness: It's not like anyone cares, anyway.

Random: Maybe if I change this, then I'll be motivated.

Nope.

I hate it.

And that's not a good thing

as this loop would continue (and repeat) over and over and over again.

When I'm used to doing something to the point where it becomes natural,

trying to change, at least for me, is

scarier than any horror movie, jump scare or

anything like that.

I think that in order to grow up or, at least, feel like it,

you need to let go of things you no longer need.

The things, in your room, that are just sitting there because you feel like you owe it

to your past self to be keep something of who you once were.

A while back, after a hole year of talking about it, I made the biggest change

I've ever done in years.

With the help of my mom and my sister, my entire room changed.

Clothes and shoes I didn't like or I couldn't wear were placed in bags.

Old papers and notebooks were recycled.

Furniture was moved.

I even got a new bed and I was, and I still am, very grateful.

But all of that didn't stop me from freaking out, because of my mental issues and

because of my fear of changing things.

I'll spare you the details...

I'll just say that...

...because it was all new and different and weird...

I didn't react well...

And, at the time, it was all way too much...

After everything was done, I had an interesting reaction.

It wasn't sadness or anger or nervousness or anything negative...

It turns out I actually liked my room... my new room...

but there were things missing.

And I'm not just talking about the things that we put out there, in the hallway.

Because we had to organize... (the entire room)

Since I couldn't sleep, I started organizing and reorganizing pretty much everything.

And that ended up lasting for... about 2 days until I was finally

content with the end result.

It was weird, but it was also ok.

I think that is the only way I can describe what I was feeling...

A few weeks later, the last 2 pieces of my old room were gone

My old mattress...

which (was one thing) I wasn't really sad about leaving...

and this tiny sofa that I've had, I think, since I moved in here.

After that, I spent most of my day comparing who I am now and who I used to be.

That ended up being a very negative time...

because I ended up seeing all of my negative aspects.

Again, I'll spare you the details and I'll spare you the long list of adjectives.

Because it's not really healthy for me, right now,

and I'm going to assume that, for you, it (would be) to be very boring.

After that outcome, I started to (imagine) ways on how I can improve...

because I don't want to continue with my mind as it is

and I don't even want to imagine it getting, my mind, getting even worse that it already is...

So, I decided to make a list.

And just to be honest with myself, I made 2 things clear:

1) I imagined that money wasn't an issue...

2) I would only write things I could do right now... Realistically.

So, no "travelling through time and space",

no "travelling the world in first class"

or "learn how to talk to people"

or anything remotely like that.

As I was making this list, I realized that I needed to try and change

how I act and how I see life.

And nowadays, I have a new way to do that and to remind myself to change,

because I have a new way to express myself.

Words can help, but actions speak a lot louder, in our world,

even if you think you're a good person.

So, if I haven't lost you yet, here's what I'm trying to say:

it's ok to let go of the person you were.

Every day, not only do we all get a bit older, we also learn new things.

And by learning, we end up changing.

Even if your changes are not always visible, it's ok to stop comparing

how badly you are now and how great you felt in the past.

And, if you end up feeling bad again, do what you can NOT to beat yourself up.

It may feel right at the time... It may feel like (it's) the correct choice...

but when you're looking back, you can see you are only hurting yourself.

And that is all I wanted to say.

I rewrote this script several times and I don't really have a good ending.

I don't even have one now.

So...

Thank you for watching.

Have a great day.

And I'll see you next time.

Bye.
