Bela Tarr: Sinema Üzerine (2008) | Türkçe Altyazılı (Eng Sub) - Duration: 9:21.

Subtitled by Ümid Gurbanov @umidgurbanov

You're famous, particularly after "Damnation" onwards, for long extended shots.

Is that a kind of corrective to the fact that we have short attention spans now?

You know, why I like to do this one is because you can create everything for a minute

and everybody has to be there at the same moment,

the actors the crew and we, and everybody has to be on the top,

with all of your sensibilities, and all of your presence.

That's important. That's why I like it.

To have it, the moment, when everything is together.

You know, most of the movies are working like:

information, cut, information, cut, information, cut.

And for them the information is just the story.

And for me a lot of things are information.

I try to involve to the movie, the time, the space,

and a lot of other things which is a part of our life

but not connecting directly to the storytelling.

And I'm working the same way: Information, cut, information, cut,

but for me the information is not only the story.

A lot of other things. Maybe something is happening between us

and I'm just moving with the camera

and I'm showing you something over there, which is connecting you.

It also gives some information to the people

but it's not in a cut. Or, the way how I'm showing I'm just always...

It looks like a chain.

You just put everything together and then finally you have a long take.

But we are cutting, but not on the editing table, we are cutting in the camera.

People think in a way... You've said you're not a believer in God,

yet people still keep looking at your films and coming out with religious messages.

I'm working since thirty years.

And during this time

I have to tell you I'm doing the same movie about the human dignity.

If you want you can call it also a kind of religion

because if you believe and you are 100% sure one thing is important: Human dignity.

And I'm... What is really...

And please don't touch it, the human dignity. Please don't destroy it. Please don't humiliate it.

And I just wanted to show you always: Here is some poor, ugly, sad people.

Maybe they are able to do crimes

but they are able to love each other, but they are human beings and they have a right to life.

And the quality of their life, it's not "doesn't matter".

You know, that's what I think,

and that's why I'm doing a movie. And that's, and that's what I believe.

You've got two moments of particular revelation, when I think about in "Satantango"

there's the scene where Irimias comes to the place where the little girl killed herself,

and there's the mist going across, and he falls to his knees

and then in the hospital scene in Werckmeister Harmonies

they go through a hospital and then they see the old man standing in the bath

and then they go away very quiet.

What is it that impresses those people in those scenes?

I can be cynical and I can tell you very simple.

Because behind the old man in the bath there is a wall.

No way. They have to turn back.

That's the cynical version.

Of course on the other hand I think every human has a sensibility

and every human has a respect.

You know, if you are the biggest criminal, if you are able to kill someone,

everybody has a border that they have to turn back

because if they cross this border in this case we cannot call them human.

We have to call them animals.

But I have to tell you I respect several times more the animals

because what we are doing on the earth is more…

One thing that impresses a lot of people about your films:

They love the cinematography, the black and white cinematography

but you do very extended scenes, the cinematography often looks quite naturalistic.

Do your extended scenes create extra problems for your cameraman?

It's not a question of extra problems or not.

You know, if you have a picture. It looks like a painting.

Every frame has to be perfect and you have to show something which is important.

If here is, for example, this small flower.

It's really importent if I take me hand to… The light is coming from here.

If I take my hand to here, it became dark.

It's always the question if… What I want to show I have to decide:

The flower or the water?

In this case I'm hiding it, or I keep it in the dark

and I put more light to here because I just want to show you what I think,

what I… What is important and we have to…

And the black and white is very good because it's bright, white, this is totally dark

and you can feel always like I can…

And your eyes always are just going to the brighter, to the brighter point.

That's why I really like to do the black and white.

And I never think about how difficult it is for the cinematographer

because I just know what I want to show,

but I know it's really difficult, because there's a lot of really complicated camera movement.

I've got a picture by Brueghel on the wall of my office.

I was very interested to see that you love Brueghel so much.

What is it about Brueghel that you love and how does that apply to your films?

For example, when we see the falling Icarus.

And this is the story, and this is the title of the picture,

and what do you see? Icarus is really the smallest point in the background when he falls to the water

and in the front you can see two ugly real people.

That's a kind of philosophy.

The story is, I don't know where because the main issue is in front of you.

That's… It's a kind of dramaturgy.

I have to tell you I learned filmmaking more from the painters and from the musicians than the filmmakers.

Do you feel your films are optimistic or pessimistic?

First of all, if you are pessimistic, you don't do anything,

and you don't want to tell and don't want to communicate with the people. That's sure.

I don't think I'm too optimistic,

but I'm still optimistic because I believe

that somebody will come and watch this movie

and agree with our point of view.

- Bela Tarr thanks very much. - Thank you.

Are We Alive And Dead At The Same Time - Duration: 5:21.

Are We Alive And Dead At The Same Time

by Gabriel Melchizedek

Sitting with the Buddha, during an all-day breakfast {Naga bowl my fav} contemplating

the nature of existence.

For such introspection, I am always inspired by Adiyogi {Shiva} the first yogi.

Two Major symbolisms for Shiva are the Third Eye and Smeared Ashes

What do these represent?

The Third Eye reflects that Shiva both physically and in the innermost deepest possible

way he is alive to the fullest level

Simultaneously At the same time, however the ash smears reflect that Shiva is involved

with Death.

One step intensely involved in Life One step intensely involved in Death.

What does this mean?

This may be the way life is happening even now.

Death is not something that happens to us sometime in the future.

It is happening to us in this eternal moment.

If we as much as breathe a little more consciously, we will notice with every inhalation there

is life.

With every exhalation there is death.

If we are not getting the point, just do the next exhalation and do not take the next inhalation

We get the point.

Life is death and death is life.

We need not have invented two words for this.

Its just one thing ~ this is the awareness it is said in states of Samadhi ~ where all

collapses into the one, and all aspects are dancing simultaneously.

Now

Lets imagine a situation that one may be gifted unknown to them at the time where

life and death are experienced simultaneously.

Walking on a trekking path in the Southern Indian mountains, one encounters an Elephant

that you see in its eyes the ferocity and danger of possible death.

At this moment, you may lose all sense of locomotion, as you are moments away from what

is perceived at the time as physical death.

But at this moment, there is a certain exuberance awareness that overwhelms your being,

all the hairs of your body stand up, goosebumps, a certain ecstasy, as adrenaline kicks in

for survival purposes

An awareness that is experienced.

And

If you do survive this moment, for the rest of your life you will always remember that

moment, looking the elephant in the eyes, that feeling of being alive and dead at the

same time.

Thinking of this alters your consciousness to bring back that feeling momentarily.

This state of adrenaline, ecstasy it is said to be the state of Bliss that the Yogis

experience in states of Samadhi.

The only catch to this is, however, is in that moment of danger with the elephant you

were AWARE of life and death in the eternal moment.

The elephant could have granted you the gift of enlightenmentthe awareness of all aspects

{life and death} creation simultaneously.

Any being devoted, disciplined and dedicated to the inner path can experience this state

of bliss with powerful scientific yogic techniques.

This is why Krishna said with deeper understanding beyond human understanding of death when

Arjuna asked ~

What is the point of slaughtering all these people?

If you can attain, it does not matter killing ten thousand people.

What this truly is speaking tocan be understood in David Hawkins research {Power V Force 1995}

An individual at 700 {enlightenment} counterbalances 70,000,000 individuals below 200 {guilt, shame}.

Again, see this from the perspective of Krishna, a higher understanding that the creator utilises

both light and shadow to bring a soul to the awareness of the love that they truly are.

{its also perfect that the wifi name where I am currently am is Krishna and password

arjuna as I write this}.

To add the Cherry on top of the cake so to speak

As I was crafting this heart sharing, a dear friend sent through Gene Key 42 ~ Celebration.

It is rather like sitting by a river and following the currents and eddies with your

eyes as they continually disappear from view.

If you stop watching the river and simply gaze at it with your peripheral vision, you

often have a curious experience of timelessness.

The river no longer has a direction anymore it simply comes at you and out of you

from every part of your being.

This movement of life that isnt really a movement is the sound of Celebration.

You do not know whether something is being born or something is dying.

There is simply the endless pulse as the river laughs at the meaninglessness of it

all.

Sex, Gender and Bullshit Part 8: Guns, Trucks, and Gaydar | We The Internet TV - Duration: 3:32.

[LOU] Everyone has questions about sex.

Mainly, "Was that any good?"

While she can't answer that one, Dr. Debra Soh,

a science journalist and columnist for Playboy and The Globe and Mail,

is here to help us better understand, and maybe better perform.

(intro music)

"Why do men with small penises buy the biggest most obnoxious trucks?"

Is there a study on trucks to penis size?

[DR. SOH] I think that would be a great stuyd.

I think it's like what we see in the animal kingdom, where animals will have a display to try and attract mates...

[LOU] They'll buy trucks? [DR. SOH] They'll buy trucks.

(music)

[LOU] You hear a similar thing about guns.

People say, "Oh, you have a small dick so then you have a gun."

Is that true? Is there any studies about that?

[DR. SOH] I don't think so.

[LOU] I feel like a lot of people who say that,

they don't understand that a gun and a penis are two very different things.

Like, they do very different things.

Like for example, if you want to fend off an attacker,

you probably would want to have a gun on you than lead with your penis.

[DR. SOH] Uh, yes.

(music)

[LOU] You wrote a piece about gaydar entitled, "Gaydar Exists. What Does This Mean for Straight People?"

I have terrible gaydar.

I just assume any man who talks to me wants to have sex with me.

[DR. SOH] There's a Review paper that came out recently that showed that gaydar is actually real.

You can tell whether someone is gay based on very small differences in facial structure,

in terms of body language, in terms of even the way we speak.

I really love that paper in particular.

For me, I spent a lot of time in the gay community, a lot of my friends were gay men, growing up.

So I feel I have really strong gaydar, and I was really happy to see that there's actually some merit to that.

[LOU] There was an article that came out a few months back,

it was written by a woman who was pissed off that gay men didn't want straight women in their bars anymore.

And she was like, 'how dare they tell me, a woman, where I can go?'

And it's like, well, some bars you have guys looking to hook up and stuff,

and maybe they don't want to see bachelorette parties. Can you imagine that?

What's been the greatest struggle for gay rights?

Is it bachorette parties at gay clubs?

(music)

[LOU] "How do Apache attach helicopters mate?"

Can you explain the Apache helicopter meme to me? And where in the brain do memes form?

[DR. SOH] I love memes.

The Apache attack helicopter meme, from what I understand, is a statement as to, you know,

people nowadays are identifying as genders that are not based in science or any sort of biology,

so outside of that, I think people are saying, with this meme, 'well, why can't I identify as a helicopter?'

[LOU] And I guess they would probably mate the same way.

[DR. SOH] If helicopters had genitalia, yeah.

[LOU] What I would love to see is if someone who identifies as an Apache helicopter tries to mate with an actual Apache helicopter.

That would be scary.

[DR. SOH] It would be a bit scary.

[LOU] Thanks for your questions, guys.

What is Email Marketing? - Duration: 7:42.

As an entrepreneur, marketing is so important – it's the driving force that will draw

potential customers into your store.

But, what about email marketing?

With so many marketing options, is email still a valuable marketing channel for ecommerce

entrepreneurs?

Hey guys!

I'm Jessica with Oberlo, and today we'll be talking about email as a marketing channel.

I'll give you 10 tips that'll help you to nail your email marketing campaigns, and

at the end of this video you'll be armed with the knowledge you need to generate traffic

with email.

Email Marketing – Is It Worth It?

If you're just getting started with marketing, you've probably got tons of questions.

Which marketing channel is best?

Is this going to be expensive?

Am I doing this right?

It's difficult to give you a solid answer on which marketing channel is best, but email

marketing is certainly up there.

According to the Direct Marketing Association, you get $40 for every $1 that you spend on

email marketing.

That's a fantastic return on investment, and something you rarely see with other platforms.

There are tons of ways you can use email to effectively market your brand.

So let's jump into our list of 10 tips that'll help you create fantastic, effective email

marketing campaigns.

1.

Choose The Right Tool

To kick off our list of actionable email marketing tips, we're going to discuss the importance

of choosing an email provider that suits your business.

There are plenty of tools you can use to create and send your email marketing campaigns, We

recommend choosing one that is simple to navigate, yet robust enough to enable some advanced

marketing tactics, like segmentation, further down the line..

If you're just getting started with email marketing, we recommend Mailchimp. It's the

industry standard for a reason: It's powerful, yet easy to use.

Mailchimp also has an app that you can integrate directly into your Shopify store.

You really don't need much experience with marketing to succeed with Mailchimp, so give

it a try and see if it suits you.

2.

Get a Professional Email Address

Next we're going to talk about professional email addresses.

Free domain email addresses, like the ones that end in at gmail, outlook, and yahoo dot

com, are designed for personal use.

They aren't suitable for your business!

If you want to appear professional when you're sending email marketing campaigns, make sure

you purchase an email address from your own domain.

For example, if I was running a business called 'dazzlingjewelry' my emails would be sent

from 'jessica@dazzlingjewelry.com' instead of 'dazzlingjewelry@gmail.com'.

This simple tip will really help you to build trust with your audience, and that's exactly

what you need to do when running an online business.

3.

Plan the Frequency of Your Campaigns

When it comes to sending email campaigns, make sure you've got a plan for how many

campaigns you're actually going to send.

Remember, there are a ton of things you can do with your campaigns.

You can send your audience promotional content about new products, alert them to flash sales,

or provide them with a discount code to your newest collection.

Whatever you plan to do, plan it out first.

Use project management tools like Trello or Asana and come up with a simple calendar that

dictates when you're going to send out emails, and what they're going to contain.

Trust us, this will really help you to stay focussed.

4.

Experiment With Subject Lines

Subject lines are super important.

They're the email equivalent to the headline of a newspaper.

Your subject line is essentially the title of your email, and it needs to entice your

customers to click.

Remember, there's a lot of competition in someone's inbox.

The average inbox includes receipts, order confirmations, and, of course, marketing material.

You need to make sure that your subject lines stand out from the crowd – you want everybody

to open your emails!

Take some time to A/B test with subject lines and find out what kind of language increases

open rates.

Our advice is to keep your subject lines short and concise – under 50 characters usually

works best – and focus your subject lines on the value you're providing to customers.

5.

Don't Be Afraid of Emojis

Emojis are a bit of a controversial topic in the world of email marketing, but you shouldn't

be afraid to use them.

Entrepreneurs and marketers alike have been using more emojis recently.

Typically, they're found in an email's subject line, but we've seen plenty of effective

marketing campaigns that use them in the body of the email too.

Really think about your audience when it comes to using emojis.

If you're targeting a millennial market, then emojis could be a great call, whereas

an older market might not respond so favourably.

As with everything in marketing, it's all about experimentation.

Test emojis in an email campaign and see if it has an impact on open or clickthrough rates.

6.

Include a Clear Call-to-Action

Next up, we've got the importance of a clear call-to-action in your email marketing campaigns.

You can spend hours slaving over the perfect email, but the harsh reality is that your

audience might not read through the entire thing.

Attention is scarce online, so make sure your audience will see a clear call-to-action whenever

they open one of your emails.

If you've already convinced your customers to open an email, your job is half-way done.

Get them to your online store with a call-to-action like: "Shop the collection now", and include

a link that takes them directly to that collection.

7.

Remember to Send Test Emails

Test emails are so important.

Honestly, you'd be surprised by the amount of emails we've seen over the years that

have silly typos or broken links.

Sure, those brands left a lasting impression, but it wasn't the one they were hoping for.

The amount of time it takes to send a test email and check through everything before

you send it is so worth it in the long run.

Most email providers will allow you to send a test email, so take advantage of that function

before you send any campaign.

8.

Check Your Emails on Mobile

More than half of all emails are opened on mobile devices, so it's essential that your

emails look great and function on mobile too.

Otherwise, you're only optimizing your emails for half of your audience.

This point follows on from the importance of sending test emails.

Once you've sent a test email, your first instinct will probably be to check it on your

desktop computer or laptop.

That's great, but check it on your mobile too.

Make sure that all the text is visible, that any buttons are easy to click, and that the

overall experience of the email is smooth.

If it's good on mobile, you're good to go!

9.

Remember to Use Abandoned Cart Emails

When you're running an online store, you'll probably notice that lots of customers add

an item to their cart, but fail to complete the transaction for whatever reason.

Don't take this personally.

It can happen for many reasons.

Maybe the customer was just browsing at work and their boss walked in.

Perhaps their child started crying and they had to dash away from the computer.

The important thing to focus on here is that they did show interest in your products.

If they entered their email address, you can send them an abandoned cart email to gently

remind them that they forgot about their product.

This is a super effective marketing tactic for ecommerce entrepreneurs, so give it a

try and let us know if you convert an abandoned cart into a paying customers!

10.

Measure Your Performance

Email can be a great marketing channel for a lot of businesses, but that doesn't mean

it's guaranteed to work for yours.

When you're running your own store, it's essential that manage your time effectively.

For that reason, make sure you measure the performance of your emails constantly, to

ensure you're getting a return on investment.

To determine that, you want to focus on your open rates, click through rates, and unsubscribe

rates.

The average open rate for ecommerce businesses falls somewhere between 10-15%, and the average

click through rate is between 1-2%.

Of course, if your mailing list is still super small, it'll be difficult to measure the

performance of your emails.

This is something you can do after you've got at least 100-200 people subscribed to

your list.

But once you're at that point, measuring campaigns will help you improve upon each

email you send.

For example, if 50% of your mailing list opens your emails, but your click through rate is

only 1%, you'll need to optimize the content of email, rather than your subject line.

In that case, try to switch up your calls-to-action and make sure that they're visible as soon

as someone opens the email.

This is just one example, but there's a lot more to learn from your analytics.

Remember, knowledge is power!

Alright, so that's it for our list of email marketing tips.

Volcano Cave & Lava Sources - Volcanoids Dev Diary #25 - Duration: 3:15.

Hello everyone! This week we're gonna talk about creating caves, adding them to

the map and test the travelling between surface and the underground.

Hello and welcome to another Volcanoids Dev Diary! Surface map is mostly done and

now it's time to create the caves. Same as with everything we started with basic

models that are used to find good proportions and set foundation for

future iterations. The caves play important role as they hold main quest

objectives. Player will have to reach the caves and deactivate cog drillships

that cause the volcano eruptions. Caves in general will be considered a

dangerous location an enemy will be very active around here. Once the model was

ready we placed it to the main map to check if it fits the volcano. Then we

tested the landing sites and placed all features to allow drillship traveling

player won't be able to enter or leave the cave without a drillship. This is the

top view of the cave with four landing sites and the main area in the middle

where the quest objectives will be and on this example you can see the final

location of the cave in the main map. Based on the old concept we added the

lava sources. They also hold quest objectives and player will have to

disable them first before going to the volcano cave. Just to disable a source

won't be enough cogs will try to reactivate them. If player fails to

defend the source cogs will take over the location and player will have to

repeat the source deactivation. All caves will be dangerous and the difficulty

will be set by the amount of enemy units. Also if volcano erupts everything

in the caves will be destroyed as well as on the surface of the island. The

first iteration of caves is done and we are getting close to a complete map that

has everything player needs to silence the volcano and win the game. There are

still many things missing like particle effects, sounds and better visual of the

cave but technically it's enough for playtesting. The main goal was to have caves

in the game to see how it effects the gameplay and what new issues we will

have to solve. Here is an example of traveling from

surface to the cave and back the video is sped up as it takes a while to travel

between the locations. We also combine two views together to show you how ship

leaves and enters the new location. We have a plan how to show you the landing

animations even when you are inside the ship so that you don't miss anything.

Also there will be warning signs and notifications when it's not safe to land

so don't worry if careful you won't get blasted away a few seconds after your

drillship parks. That's all for this week's Dev Diary. Next time we will be

adding new ore types and drillship devices. If you have any questions or ideas let

us know in the comments below. Also feel free to sign up for Alpha testing the

link is in the description. Thank you for watching and see you next time!

friends at aquascape behind me said well everyone needs a garden pond they just

don't know it yet now look I know what you're saying like a dustin that's cool

you got a pond it's sweet whatever but you don't need to get this fancy okay

back in the day before kids afford a youtube channel I construct it in one

day an above-ground garden pond that totally got my fix for quite a long time

in fact they actually set up a second one I've also seen people do simple

stuff like my man Lucas Brett's using nothing but a Rubbermaid tub so don't

get intimidated do whatever fits what you got going on in your life at this

time and y'all are gonna want to click links around here and make sure you do

check out Lucas Brett says above-ground Rubbermaid heated all year round pools

where he grows jungle val and breeds rainbows in so clicking links around

here and check those out lake club man Wow yeah

oh dude I've never seen my clubs look like that Wow

I joke around about how I want to have Val in my coffin when I died is straight

up man like if I'm going the afterlife that tall it's kiddie just like me like

I want some of it oh and with all that said here are my top 5 reasons everybody

should own some sort of an outdoor garden time

one of the five reason everybody should own some sort of a garden pond it's

outside and you can do easy water changes look every single one of us has

gotten a stink eye from our significant other when we're lugging a bucket

through the room what are you doing that bucket with the garden pond water

changes are easy you grab your hose you grab your deke lure you turn the hose on

you add the declaw into the pond you fill it up oh did I mention you have the

always sexy in there for us mother nature periodically dropping rain down

in the pond yeah natural water changes unless you live in California my number

for what reason everybody should own a garden palm we talked about this in a

small tank Siri look with the garden pond even produced a Rubbermaid tub

you've simply got more room for error we talked about in the small tank series

you got a five gallon technical five gallon tank it's way harder to maintain

than a twenty or thirty gallon tank even if you're using a Rubbermaid tub you've

simply got more gallons to work with larger ponds 300 400 gallons you've got

more room for error you've got more room for more fish you've got more room to

keep more plants which leads me to my number three reason everybody should own

a guard

and now for number three reason everybody should own some sort of an

outdoor garden pond this is for all you fish tank people this is something that

it's not easy to replicate in an in-home aquarium but it's simple to do in an

outdoor pond and that is the aerial advantage unlike in our in home

aquariums in an outdoor garden pond tub whatever you want to use outside you

have something called the aerial advantage and you have two things you

have unlimited vertical space and you have unlimited amounts of natural

sunlight okay so in an aquarium we obviously have to artificially

supplement all the light going on into our aquarium so walk down in here into

the basement okay plants grow exponentially faster when they're able

to grow up and about of the water this tank right here my old 220 actually has

a Krenim the Tanz that grows up out of the top

periodically you can see it's done growing there we have to supplement the

light down here with a light bulb like this as you can see here plants growing

above the water line exponentially grow faster because they have more natural

sunlight and they can absorb more nitrates from the water column because

they can grow up out of the water with readily available co2 and sunlight

unlike in our aquarium because we can't go out the tops in our aquariums what

does this mean this means higher fish low

reason number two everybody should own some sort of an outdoor pond table

whatever the ridiculous amount of plant species available look I know a little

something about aquarium plants when it comes to marginals and plants that grow

from the water up out of the water it's a completely different ballgame

some of these plants get huge some of these plants flower and a lot of these

plants can survive the winter if you're buying native species to your area I

don't think I could name half of the plants in my garden pod

I'll buy a bunch of stuff and then randomly I'll be greeted with some sort

of sweet flower that I didn't know it was coming one year I planted a bunch of

spider lilies I had no idea why they called him spider lilies until all of a

sudden I got this ridiculous white flower straight up in my face for

multiple days it was awesome and every now and then you roll across a plant

that you absolutely fall in love with this is my red stem Tali I had one of my

plant suppliers in Florida just send me a mixed bag of a bunch of stuff they

thought was cool this plant came in and out of nowhere grew taller than me I

have brought this plant with me the past two years in a row to the aquatic

experience because it simply gets taller than me each winter I bring it into the

greenhouse because it's my baby and this year I split it into three different

plants and I planted them throughout the pond you never know what you're gonna

get with pond plants it's a whole new experience totally a good reason to get

yourself some sort of an outdoor garden pond

excuse me miss me today with my favorite planning the redstone powder I'm holding

and my number one reason everybody shown some sort of a garden pond is this

everything is better when you're outside look I'm standing here I got some

vitamin D hitting my vitamin D deficient self if I make a mess out here it's no

big deal grab the hose spray it off you don't

have to worry about your wife complaining about you spilling water all

over the floor you just come out here you make a mess you're white feet before

you go in the house and you're done do me a favor folks hit the like button

subscribe button share but whatever button you feel like pushing and tell me

why you love your outdoor pond or what your plans are for some sort of an

outdoor pond we're gonna have an awesome one and Tandang

Lord of the Rings: Before the Ages (Complete) - Duration: 17:48.

In the beginning, there was Eru the creator, who in the world of Arda, was called Iluvatar,

bringing forth the Timeless Halls and great void, before forming living beings known as

the Ainur, kindled by the flame imperishable.

Melkor, greatest of the Ainur, was granted vast power and knowledge while also sharing

in all the gifts of his brethren.

Yet his unique abilities also made him stand apart from the others, becoming more impatient

and ambitious, desiring that other life forms be created to fill the emptiness of the Void.

His desires even led him to journey into the Void, searching for the Flame Imperishable,

so that he too could have the power to create new lifeforms.

Yet in spending so much time alone, he became more independent with his thoughts growing

further apart from the others.

Eru then taught the Ainur to sing and when they were ready, sat back and harkened as

they performed the Ainulindale, pleased that through them great beauty had been wakened

into song.

However the perfect harmony of the music was soon interrupted by Melkor, who began twisting

the notes to sing in his own manner that conflicted with the others.

Yet as his voice grew more prominent, some of the other Ainur abandoned the original

theme and joined in his harmony.

For a time Eru listened to this war of sound until his very throne was a raging storm and

so introduced a second theme, more powerful than the first.

But the war continued as Melkor's music rose in uproar, becoming so dominant many

of the ainur were dismayed and stopped their singing.

Eru then made a third theme, deep, wide and beautiful, but slow and blended with an immeasurable

sorrow, while Melkor's music was aggressive, loud, and endlessly repetitive.

However Melkor continued to challenge each new theme until Eru struck one final chord

as piercing as the light of the eye of Ilúvatar, to end the battle and leave the timeless halls

in silence.

When it was over, Melkor was scolded for bringing such discord into the notes, and was told

that all actions even those thought different and unique, had their foundation in the creator

and only served to contribute to his plans.

The greatest of the Ainur was filled with shame upon hearing the rebuke, but also felt

deep anger which he hid away.

Then Eru left them, travelling into the void, and so the Ainur followed until he revealed

what their music had created.

The Vision of Arda, seeing the lands of Middle Earth and Aman, as well as new life forms

known as the children of Iluvatar.

He showed them how each of the Ainur created elements of the vision, including the discord

of Melkor.

When the vision ended, the Ainur were astounded and wanted it to be made real and so Eru responded

to their pleas and formed Ea, inviting them to enter this new realm on the condition that

they could not return to the Timeless halls until all the events of this universe had

completed.

Many of them agreed and departed for Ea, where the strongest became the Valar, and the lesser

became the Maiar, working together to form Arda, a world of lands and seas, in order

to bring life to the vision they had seen.

These Ainur followed Manwe, king of the Valar, the most powerful of their kind save for his

brother Melkor who also entered Ea, desiring mastery of the world and Lordship over the

Children of Iluvatar.

The Valar created a flat world perfectly symmetrical, surrounded by ocean, however soon Melkor went

on a rampage, disrupting their work, and waging the First War.

Though the powerful Dark Lord was winning the struggle, he was ultimately defeated,

when Tulkas the Strong became the last Ainur to descend from the Timeless halls, joining

the Valar to crush their enemy.

Defeated, Melkor fled from world and hid in the void, allowing for a period of peace and

stability.

However the war had marred the original design of the Valar who chose to make their home

on the island of Almaren in the center of the continent.

To bring light to the world, the valar built two great lamps, placing Illuin in the north

and Ormal in the south, bringing about the Spring of Arda, when plant and animal life

flourished all over the world.

But eventually, Melkor returned to the world in secret, and travelled North where he built

the fortress of Utumno, the base from which he once again waged war against the Valar.

Some of the Maiar who had been attuned to Melkor's harmony during the Ainulindale,

then turned against the others and joined the Dark Lord, including Sauron and those

that came to be known as the Balrogs.

Sauron was originally known by the name Mairon, meaning the Admirable, and served under Aule

the Smith, becoming a greatly skilled craftsmen.

Yet his love or order and perfection soon consumed him, causing him to embrace Melkor,

becoming a spy for the Dark Lord before leaving the Valar and joining his new master.

Melkor and his minions then attacked, sending a blight to poison the works of the Valar

and shattered the 2 lamps, plunging the world into darkness.

The attack was so devastating it shattered the continent, making three distinct areas

with Aman to the west, Middle Earth at the center and the Land of the Sun in the east.

Almaren, the home of the Valar was destroyed, and so they went west, and founded Valinor,

where they planted the two trees, Teleperion and Laurelin bringing light to Aman allowing

for plant and animal life to flourish.

During these years Middle Earth remained in darkness, ruled over by Melkor, who based

himself in the Utumno, though he also built Angband as a second fortress in the west to

keep watch against invasion, choosing Sauron to hold the fortress and defend it in his

name.

Meanwhile, the Valar built up Valinor, with each of them working in accordance to their

gifts bestowed by Iluvatar.

There was Manwe, Lord of the Winds, and King of the Valar, who made his home at the summit

of Taniquetil, the highest mountain in the world and used the Eagles as scouts to watch

over Middle Earth.

His wife was Varda, the "Star Queen", who brought light to the world, first with

the 2 lamps, then the 2 trees and eventually the stars, sun and moon.

There was Ulmo, King of the Sea, one of the chief architects of Arda, who lived in the

underwater palace of Ulmonan.

Aule, The Smith, also called the Maker, was a powerful valar who delighted in the crafting

great material works.

In his impatient's for the coming of new life forms, he created the Dwarven race, but

was forced to put them to sleep by command of the creator, until the children of Iluvatar

had awoken.

Aule's wife was Yavanna, the Giver of Fruits, who created the world's plant and animal

life.

After her husband created the Dwarves, approached Manwe with her concerns that the Children

of Iluvatar might destroy her great works, and so it was decided that tall, tree-like

beings known as Ents would serve as Shepherds of the Forest, protecting Yavanna's creations.

There was Orome, the great Hunter and Lord of Forests, who had his own woodlands in Valinor

but also roamed the lands of Middle Earth.

His wife, Vana, the ever young, was the younger sister of Yavanna and a lover of all things

that grow.

Flowers bloomed in her presence and it was her love for the golden tree Laurelin, that

preserved some of its light, and aided in the creation of the sun.

Namo also known as Mandos was the Judge of the Dead, ruling over Halls of Mandos, where

the spirits of the deceased would dwell while they awaited their ultimate fate.

His wife Vaire was called the Weaver, and made the tapestry of life, weaving the story

of the world onto the walls of the halls of Mandos.

Irmo, also known as Lorien, Master of Dreams and Illusions, was the brother Mandos and

together were known as the Feanturi, the masters of spirits.

His wife was Este, the Valar of rest, healer of hurts and weariness who watched over the

wellness of all creatures.

Then there was Tulkas, Champion of the Valar, the most warlike of them all who forever remained

the bitterest of enemies to the Dark Lord.

His wife was Nessa, the Dancer, sister of Orome, who was known for her incredible speed,

and love of swift creatures such as deer.

Then lastly there was Nienna, the Lady of Mercy, sister of Mandos and Lorien, who felt

great sadness and pity for the tragedies of the world.

The greatest of her pupils would one day become the Wizard Gandalf, whose love and empathy

for the races of Middle earth, led him to lead the fight against the Sauron in the Third

Age.

With Valinor thriving and the Valar eager to meet the children of Iluvatar, Varda, the

wife of Manwe, brought about the Noontide of the Blessed, creating the stars in the

sky to bring light back the rest of the world, allowing for the first of the Children to

awaken and walk the lands of Middle Earth.

These free thinking creatures of beauty and wisdom came to be known as Elves, and were

unlike any other creature in the world as they came directly from the mind of Iluvatar,

and were granted the gift of immortality.

Waking in the land of Cuivienen, it was Melkor who first discovered them and started capturing

those who wandered alone in the forests, twisting their minds with darkness and corruption in

order to breed a new race known as the Orcs to serve the Dark Lord.

Roughly a century after the awakening of the Elves, many of the early Dwarves also awoke

in the east, such as the Ironfists, Stiffbeards, Blacklocks and Stonefoots, who possibly settled

the Orocarni Mountains.

Others however awoke further west, with Duran the Deathless settling the Longbeard clan

in the fortress of Khazad Dum within the Misty Mountains, while the Broadbeams and Firebeards

built Nogrod and Belegost in the Blue Mountains.

The Ents also awoke in these early years, roaming the vast forests of middle earth,

and coming into contact with the Elves who taught them how to speak, imparting a desire

to learn new things and expand their knowledge.

According to Treebeard, possibly the Oldest living being in all of Middle Earth, the race

of Trolls later created by Melkor were made in mockery of the Ents, just as the Orcs were

a corrupted version of the Elves.

Eventually, the great hunter Orome discovered what Melkor was doing with the Elder Children

and returned to Valinor to reveal all he knew.

Outraged by his actions, the Valar and Maiar marched against the Dark Lord in the War for

Sake of the Elves, defeating his forces at Angband in the Battle of the Powers and sending

part of their army to protect the Elves from the rest of the conflict.

Melkor then retreated into Utumno where he was besieged for years until they breached

his defences, leaving Tulkas the Strong to cast him down, taking the Dark Lord to Valinor

in chains.

Yet despite their victory, the Valar did not discover the mighty vaults and hidden caverns

of Melkor's fortresses, where many evil things still lingered, and also failed to

capture many of his other servants including Sauron.

The devastation of the war caused yet another reshaping of the continents, yet with Melkor

sentenced to three ages of captivity in the Halls of Mandos, there came a time of peace,

where the Children of Iluvatar once again roamed the forests freely.

Desiring to bring the Elves to Aman under their protection, the Valar sent Orome to

meet with them, bringing back three ambassadors to see the light of the trees of Valinor.

The ambassadors then returned to middle Earth and convinced many of the Elves to join them

in a great journey west.

Yet not all would go, and so the Elves fractured into the Avari who remained in Cuivienen and

the Eldar who departed.

The Eldar were then further divided into three groups, with the Vanyar following their leader

Ingwe, the Noldor following Finwe, and the Teleri led by Elwe.

Yet as they travelled, Elwe heard the singing of Melian, a Maia who once tended the gardens

of Lorien, but left Valinor to explore the forests of Middle Earth.

Elwe was entranced by her beauty and voice, and when they touched hands a spell was cast

which froze them in place for many years.

The Teleri, alarmed by the disappearance of their leader, stayed behind to search for

him while the Vanyar and Noldor completed the journey west, farried across the sea of

belegaer upon an island sent by Ulmo.

When Elwe could not be found, the Teleri broke apart, with some continuing on to Valinor,

while others, having grown attached to these lands, settled in Middle Earth.

Many of those Teleri that continued west, came to settle on the island ferry, which

came to be known as Tol Eressea and which settled off the coast of Aman, where their

people became expert ship builders.

When at last Melian and Elwe awoke from the incantation, they were deeply in love and

went on to rule over the Sindarin elves of the kingdom of Doriath.

After 3 ages spent in captivity, Melkor was once again brought before the Valar to plead

his case.

The Dark Lord, eager for freedom and revenge, feigned regret for his past actions, claiming

that he wanted to return to the light of Iluvatar, and his brother Manwe, being so good hearted

believed the lie, allowing him to go free.

Yet many others remained wary of Melkor, watching him closely, and so he was patient, continuing

with his ruse by being helpful and acting reformed while in secret he plotted against

the Valar and the Elves who he despised.

Slowly, he began sowing discord among them, choosing to target the Elf Feanor, eldest

son of the noldor High King Finwe.

Feanor was a powerful elf of great skill and renown, responsible for the creation of the

Silmarils, three gems which contained light from the two trees and were so precious that

no one, not even their creator could ever reproduce their likeness again.

Although Feanor was among those who did not trust Melkor, the Dark Lord used trickery

to convince him his younger half brother Fingolfin was plotting to usurp his place as heir to

the throne.

Enraged, Feanor publically threatened Fingolfin with death and so was exiled in punishment,

making his home in the fortress of Formenos.

Finwe his father, joined him in exile until Feanor finally realized he had been deceived

and returned to make peace.

However with Feanor away from Formenos, Melkor and his new ally the Ungoliant, a primordial

evil in the form of a giant spider, revealed their master plan, plunging Aman into darkness

by destroying the two trees.

Melkor then moved against Formenos, killing Feanor's father Finwe and stealing the Silmarils

before departing for Middle Earth.

When Feanor learned what occurred, he was consumed with rage and renamed Melkor to Morgoth,

the Black Enemy, swearing an oath to recapture the silmarils by any means necessary, then

leading an army of Noldor towards the coast where they demanded ships from the Teleri

to cross the sea.

When they refused, Feanor and those most loyal to him slew the Teleri, in what came to be

known as the First Kinslaying, afterwhich they were cursed by Mandos and forbidden from

returning to Valinor.

After the theft of the Silmarils and journey to Middle Earth, Melkor and the Ungoliant

turned against each other, fighting for possession of the jewels.

After consuming the light of the 2 trees, Ungoliant proved so powerful she nearly overcame

the Dark Lord, but his screams alerted the nearby Balrogs, sleeping underneath the ruined

fortress of Angband, who responded to their masters call and chased her away into the

south, where she became mother to the great spiders.

With Melkor returned to his seat of power, he gathered together his armies, intent on

ruling over the continent.

However he faced resistance from the Elves who remained behind during the great journey

west resulting in the First Battle of Beleriand, the initial conflict in the War of Great Jewels.

This battle saw Morgoth and his lieutenants Sauron and Gothmog leading their forces against

an alliance of Sindarin and Laiquendi elves, fighting alongside the Dwarves of Nogrod and

Belegost.

Although the alliance was successfully able to repel the invasion in the east, the cost

was heavy, and victory remained incomplete, as the sindarin elves who dwelt in the Havens

of the Falas under Lord Cirdan, remaining under siege.

However King Thingol had seen enough of war, and so did not march to help his kin in the

west, instead summoning all who wished to live in peace, bringing them to Doriath, where

Queen Melian used her powers to place a spell upon the land, creating the Girdle of Melian,

an invisible fence that hid their city from outsiders.

In addition no help came from the Dwarves who retreated into their mountains, nor from

the Green Elves, who saw their king Denethor slain in battle, and afterwards returned to

the forests of Ossiriand, pledging to live in secrecy and refusing to participate in

future battles.

However relief finally came for the Elves of the western coast, when the Noldor following

Feanor arrived in the lands of Lammoth, and immediately went to war against the Dark Lord,

forcing his armies to abandon the siege and march north.

Engaging in the Dagor-nuin-Giliath, the Noldor swiftly defeated the enemy, but Feanor became

so enraptured in a battle fever, he led a charge to follow after those in retreat, leading

him to be surrounded by Blarogs as he approached the fortress of Angband.

Though his sons soon arrived and drove the enemy back, they were too late to save their

father who with his final breaths cursed Angband 3 times over before he died, his fiery spirit

so powerful it burned his body to ash.

And so it now fell to his sons led Maedhros, the eldest, to fulfil the oath of Feanor and

recover the Silmarils from their eternal enemy.

Meanwhile, Fingolfin and his followers had been abandoned by Feanor after the kinslaying,

in which they participated only because they arrived late and were not aware the Noldor

initiated the conflict.

Although Feanor promised to send back the ships they took, he instead burned them upon

arriving in middle earth, forcing Fingolfin to lead his people across the treacherous

mountain of Helcaraxe, the Northern bridge to the east.

The journey was long and many Elves died along the way, but eventually they arrived and reunited

with the remaining Noldor who had been scattered after the death of Feanor.

With the 2 trees gone, the Valar used there last flower and fruit to create the Sun and

Moon in the sky, and so the race of Men awoke in the lands of Hildorian.

What if the Nintendo Switch Online Service SUCKS? - Duration: 11:10.

Everybody.

Take a deep breath.

It will.

be.

ok.

Nintendo is gearing up to unveil what they have planned for Nintendo Switch Online ANY

day now & the general consensus seems to be that people are pretty down on it already.

As far as most people are concerned, Nintendo better nail this announcement.

If not, all hope for the service is dead.

I'm not personally in that camp, I'm somewhere in the middle of positive and negativebut,

I can definitely see where they're coming from.

Nintendo hasn't exactly nailed online play in the past thanks in large part to their

reluctance to really commit in the days where Xbox and later Sony doubled down on the implementation

of features on their platforms to facilitate and improve online play on console.

The last time I talked about Nintendo Switch Online I mentioned the fact that they've

flirted with online services in the past, DECADES before Xbox was even a twinkle in

Microsoft's eye.

Hell, Even about a decade before Windows 2000.

Nintendo's online experimentation spangs back to the Famicom WAAAY back in 1988 with

what they called the Famicom Net System or Famicom Modem Nintendo later used that experience

to incorporate an online service of some sort for every one of their systems then on SNES

with Satelliview, again with Nintendo 64's Randnet via 64DD, Gamecube… didn't have

a BRANDED service, but it did support online play.

Wii & Wii U had online play too, as we know & are reminded constantly.

None of these things were GREAT but, none of these things required an international

subscription model in a world where people have expectations for that market.

& of course, the people that have grown accustomed to these services on console aren't the only

people down on the potential of Nintendo Switch's service, you also have the PC players that

feel entitled to free online play, which, while I can see where they get that entitlement

being that PC gaming doesn't require a fee to play online, I also disagree with because

PC isn't 1:1 with console, money isn't funneled differently on that platform & no

one entity is responsible for a cohesive online experience across the board.

Paying to play online there would effectively kill that ecosystem because every publisher

would be charging for the service rather than a single OEM.

But, I digress.

The point is, if we're gonna pay for a service, it better be worth that dollar.

The question I have is, what will happen if it's not?

Will it effect Nintendo Switch's momentum?

Spoilers, but, keeping in mind Nintendo's history in mind, I can't really see Switch

Online having any real baring on where Nintendo Switch is headed in the future.

It being bad definitely wouldn't have the effect that many skeptics seem to think it

will.

The people that expect top notch online experiences with no lag, never-ending uptimes, & snappy

connections to any player at any given time are 1st of all live in a fantasy world and

2nd of all are unlikely to leave the vaunted ethernet cable clad fortresses that are Xbox

Live, Playstation Network and most definitely anybody gaming primarily on Steam.

The people that don't have those expectations won't be any the wiser at the end of the

day.

Just like they weren't on any other Nintendo platform.

Mario Kart, Smash Bros, Pokemon, Splatoon, & more are all games that people play online

on Nintendo platforms and while they're not perfect, they're certainly not this

unplayable mess people purport they are.

Of course, those services were free, but, with Switch Online in particular, what people

seem to be discounting altogether is the fact that Nintendo isn't hinging the value proposition

of Switch Online on the online play alone.

That's before considering the fact that, as it stands the games that are on offer will

either make most bite the bullet no matter how little they may want to (being Smash Bros,

Pokemon, and possibly even Fortnite.)

Most people won't think twice before shelling out the pocket change per month to play these

games.

OR ignore it altogether regardless of quality because they prefer to play the games that

Nintendo has prioritized up until now.

Most of Nintendo's current marquee titles are single player experiences so you'd be

hard pressed to see the majority of people even CONSIDERING Switch as is changing their

mind based on the Switch Online Service.

Hell, PlayStation & Xbox don't even reach all of their users with their online services

and the vast majority of the games being released or planned are some variation of games as

a service.

The most popular games like Fortnite, Call of Duty, Overwatch or even Red Dead Redemption

2 will have heavy integration with each of the current gen platform's online services.

Why would it all of a sudden be the case that Nintendo of all companies would be the one

platform that has online as a prerequisite to succeed?

Sure, we'll eventually get more of those games in an attempt to sell people on the

Online service, but, they won't dedicate ALL of their resources to it.

There will be single player games for people to play.

Regardless of how their service turns out, those games will still be system sellers.

If it IS bad, The people that do buy into the service will do so because less than $3

a month is impulse buy territory, low quality Smash Online is better than NO Smash Online,

or the other incentives that Nintendo will introduce alongside it.

In the last Switch Online video, I talked about Nintendo's desire to provide value.

Their service is not only a 3rd of the price of what the other guys charge they ALSO are

going to try to justify the price through other means.

For many, the ability to play the Nintendo Classics Library games would've been enough

to justify the $20 a year.

If they added 4 games a year that would easily justify the $20 price tag before the online

capabilities come into play.

I wouldn't be surprised if we saw more than that added to the library per month.

Hell, if they WANTED to, they could gate keep Classic games altogether.

Granted, I don't think they'll do that, but they could….

Something they will almost certainly do is have exclusive windows for these games, offers

for the games, maybe even better offers for their My Nintendo service.

I wouldn't be surprised to see them attempt to add more features that we have yet to hear

of directly to sweeten the deal as well.

There's been rumors of an achievement system.

I can't see them wanting to make it a copy and paste affair.

I'd imagine Nintendo wanting to give something more tangible for their achievements from

the outset.

Maybe that'll be their way to introduce stickers from Nintendo 3DS or the Stamps from

Wii U's Miiverse to Nintendo Switch?

Maybe more themes?

I can't imagine the themes we currently have are all they planned.

The naming convention that's in place sure implies otherwise.

Aside from that, what if cloud saving is tied to that service, I can't say for sure if

it's STILL a requirement elsewhere, but I do recall cloud saves being an incentive

for Playstation Plus and Xbox Live Gold, Switch Online using that as an incentive wouldn't

shock me.

Of course, a lot of this would likely be introduced to the OS whether you pay or not, but, Switch

Online will almost certainly give a better version of whatever they end up offering in

these areas.

Nintendo's plan is to try to justify the added expense to gamers, the games will be

a big part of their pitch to us, but, in the backend, that money will go to showing Nintendo

that improving what is being offered in Switch Online is important.

Stockholders wouldn't be happy to hear about how unhappy players are with a service that's

now an additional revenue stream for them.

Money will be their motivator.

Aside from that, Nintendo is a company that's very clearly interested in reinvesting in

their future.

Whether Switch Online is a rousing success, or a disastrous failure, Whatever money they

make from this service will undoubtedly go toward making it better.

In the meantime though, negative attention will go a long way to progress in the meantime.

That goes for the other complaints as well like Nintendo's voice chat solution, provided

they're as wide spread as a lot of gamers think.

It seems to me that most people will passively pay for the service regardless, but, if things

like Voice Chat being in an app ARE dealbreakers for the majority, they will make themselves

heard, stockholders will see the negative attention and the ensuing loss of revenue,

and they will pressure Nintendo to fix the problem.

Nintendo's entry into the mobile gaming market is a key example of this dynamic.

For YEARS Nintendo was vehemently against developing games for mobile devices.

Fast forward to now, after declining stocks, loss in profits, and a failed attempt at a

console they fixed the issue.

They were leaving money on the table.

Nintendo is now doubling down on mobile.

They went from being against it, to dipping their toe in utilizing it as a way to promote

their core gaming offerings, to now aiming to have several high earners in the space

per year - positioning them as another pillar of revenue.

1 billion dollar business for them.

That's a huge shift, in large part because of the taste they got after stockholder pressure.

The same will happen with paid online.

They'll dip their toe in, and adjust accordingly.

Displeased consumers & soon developers will funnel down to their stockholders which will

visibly affect their bottom line.

In the past, online services didn't have any promise of income, if anything they costed

them resources with little to no gain in return.

With all of that being said, I don't think Nintendo's service will suck.

I certainly don't think it will be perfect.

Literally nothing is the 1st time you try, well….

Unless you're Nintendo and you make one of if not THE best open world games of all

time on your first attempt, but, I digress.

Online gaming is a different animal.

Even games from online gaming vets like Activision suck for the 1st few days.

Time alone won't make Nintendo good at something they put no effort into until now.

Other company's R&D won't make them good at it either.

They need to figure out how to have a robust online service worth paying $60 a year for,

just like the other guys did.

I'm just happy we aren't being expected to pay $60 a year to them while they figure

it out….

Like I was for Xbox….

& PlayStation…..

BUT, those are MY thoughts what do YOU think?

Do you think Nintendo can make Switch Online worth the cost of admission at launch?

Do you think they announce any additional change to their online offering that we don't

know about yet?

Celine Dion's new song " Ashes" for Deadpool2 movie (Mahaya Cover Video) - Duration: 1:28.

Verse 1] What's left to say?

These prayers ain't working anymore Every word shot down in flames

What's left to do with these broken pieces on the floor?

I'm losing my voice calling on you

[Pre-Chorus] 'Cause I've been shaking

I've been bending backwards till I'm broke Watching all these dreams go up in smoke

[Chorus] Let beauty come out of ashes

Let beauty come out of ashes And when I pray to God all I ask is

Can beauty come out of ashes?

[Verse 2] Can you use these tears to put out the fires

in my soul?

'Cause I need you here, woah

[Pre-Chorus] 'Cause I've been shaking

I've been bending backwards till I'm broke Watching all these dreams go up in smoke
