Hello AE family and welcome to Ayo and Ebun Entertainment.
So today, guess what we would be doing.
We are bringing you another fresh topic. As fresh as the Turkish Simit.
Taptaz.....Hmm....how is it said in Turkish?
Yes...taptaze is right!
It's a very hot topic.
Today, we would be asking Nigerians what they think about a particular language. And the language is Turkish.
We would be playing a Turkish audio tape to them and then they'll guess what language it is. And they'll tell us what they think about it.
So,come on guys. Let's do this.
-- Hello.Good afternoon. How are you? -- I am fine thank you.
She looks really fine.
So, I would be playing an audio tape for you. And I want your honest opinion on what it sounds like to you.
-- Are you ready. -- Go ahead please.
-- This is another language. -- Yes, it is.
So, how does it sound like to you.
It sounds strange. It sounds like Indian language or someone speaking in tongues.
So, do you think this language would be easy or difficult to learn?
For me, it would be difficult.
But I think anything in this world can be learnt if you are determined to learn it.
It depends on the individual.
If I am ready to learn it, I believe I can.
It sounds Hindi. It sounds like an Indian language.
It is definitely not English.
So, why do you think it's Hindi?
It is because of the way they are talking. I am not stereotyping them but they are talking really fast as if they are arguing about something.
But they are not arguing so much.
I hope you understand what I am trying to say.
So ,no other language comes to your mind?
It might be Hausa too.
So, do you think this language would be easy or difficult to learn?
-- Are you referring to Hausa language. -- No,this language.
Do you think it would be easy or difficult to learn?
I think it would be hard. Because, in life after you reach a particular age, it becomes more difficult to learn new things.
Except if one has enough free time to learn it.
Thank you so much.
It is a language. It is probably an Asian or Indian language.
Is that all that comes to your mind?
Hmm...I think I heard the f- word.
-- Really? -- Yes.
I think I heard the f- word.
It is just a language.
Do you think it would be easy or difficult to learn?
I don't think it would be too hard to learn. Depending on.....
Depending on what?
I don't think it would be too hard.
I could perceive that there was some kind of emotions in the audio.
I was trying to understand what they were saying.
I think if I could get some syllables from the audio, I would be able to understand what they are saying.
-- It sounds Indian. -- What else?
That's all I can say.
I can't understand what they are saying but it sounds like Indian.
What language do you think it is?
Indian language. I am not sure.
Do you think this language is easy or difficult to learn?
It sounds difficult.
Let me give you a hint. It is Turkish.
Oh ok. I would never have guessed that.
What do you think about this language?
It sounds like a Telemundo Indian movie.
-- Is that all that comes to your mind? -- Yes.
No other language comes to your mind? Just Indian?
It sounds a little bit like Russian too.
Do you think this language will be easy or difficult to learn?
It would not be easy to learn.
Can you rate the difficulty in terms of percentage?
For myself or for others?
For you.
I think the difficulty level is about 30% for me.
Alright. Thank you so much.
You are welcome.
-- Hello, how are you? -- I am fine thank you. And you?
I am fine. Thank you.
I would be playing an audio for you. Let me know what you think.
-- Are you ready? -- Ok.
Why are you laughing? Do you understand what they are saying?
No.
Well,I think.....Oh, my God.
This should be a Korean or Chinese language.
Why do you think so?
Because of the way it sounds.
Do you think the language would be easy or difficult to learn?
If you take your time and you have interest in the language, it would be easy to learn.
But for now, it would be difficult for me to learn.
-- So your final answer is Korean or Chinese right? -- Yes.
The language sounds lovely.
The pronunciation sounds very sweet.
But it also sounds difficult.
And it sounds very very fast.
Do you think it would be easy or difficult to learn?
I think it depends on the person's mindset. If you really want to do it, you can do it.
Out of all the languages, what language do you think it is?
Indian?
Indian language?
Yes, but I'm just guessing.
Is that the only language that comes to mind?
Yes. Because I love Indians.
Indians, she loves you guys.
What language do you think it sounds like?
Indian.
You first said Chinese.
I didn't hear it properly but now I think it is Indian language.
Is that the only language that comes to your mind?
To me, it sounds Indian. It must be an Asian language.
So, do you think it would be hard or difficult to learn?
Obviously, I am not from their race. If I am of their race, I would have said it would be easy to learn.
But maybe with proper learning, it can be easier. Nothing is impossible.
I don't understand the sounds.
How does it sound?
It is not very very clear.
It is a language.
It sounds like Yoruba...sorry, I mean Hausa language.
Do you think this language will be easy or difficult to learn?
It sounds very hard. So it would be difficult to learn.
-- So, it's just Hausa language that comes to your mind? -- Yes.
-- No other language comes to your mind? -- No, just Hausa.
-- Where are you from? -- I am from Benue State.
-- So you think this is how Hausa language sounds? -- Yes.
It's a language. Should I say what language?
It's sounds like Indian language.
-- For you,is it fast or slow. -- Yes, it's very fast.
Does it sounds like it would be easy or hard to learn.
It would be hard to learn.
Really? Why?
Because of the way it sounds. I cannot understand whatever he is saying.
-- So you think it would be very very hard to learn? -- Yes.
Thank you very much.
