Waching daily Jan 28 2019

Hey there, Kazen here, and welcome back to Always Doing.

[♪♪]

Before I jump into today's video I want to say hello and welcome to all of my new subscribers.

It's wonderful to have you here.

I think some of you found me via tags I've gotten - Heidi over at My Reading Life tagged

me recently, as well as some other ones that I'm sure I'm forgetting - the BookTube Prize,

or one of many other things.

So go on, settle in, make yourself welcome.

If you'd like to know a little bit more about me go ahead and check out my New to Booktube Tag video.

I go on a little bit about who I am and my reading taste, along with a bunch of recommendations

for all different kinds of books.

And feel free to follow me on social media.

If you want to see more about my everyday life, both bookish and not-so-bookish, follow

me on Instagram where I mostly do stories.

And also I'm on Twitter, I love chatting on there, as well as Goodreads if you want to

keep up with what I'm reading exactly when I'm reading it.

Links for all of that social media and for all of the channels and videos and everything

I mention today will be down below.

So let's get into the video.

...the real video. [laughs]

February is Black History Month and there is so much going on in the bookish world.

So today I'm going to tell you a little bit about the different events that are going

on as well as give you my own TBR.

Which is not actually a TBR for reasons you will soon see.

There are three events that I know of in February that are connected to Black History Month.

One is Didi over at Brown Girl Reading, and she has #ReadSoulLit and they're doing a group

read of Unforgivable Love by Sophfronia Scott.

If you'd like to get in on that I'll link to the video introducing that book down below.

And she also has a Goodreads group where they're going to be discussing the book as they read it.

So check that out.

Another event that's going on is the Blackathon, which is being done by several Booktubers

including The Novel Lush.

I'll have links to all of that down below.

They originally were just going to do a week but it's encompassing the whole month [now],

and I believe they have challenges and all sorts of things.

So if you like the challenge side of it head over there.

And the next event isn't restricted to February.

Some people do it for an entire year, or six months, or whatever works for you.

But it's the #readingblackout.

It was started by Denise D. Cooper and the idea is to read completely African-American

authors for whatever span of time that you want to do that.

Personally I'm going for the reading blackout... but it's going to be a very small blackout,

unfortunately, for a few reasons.

I have a lot of reading on my plate right now, and a lot of half-started books, and

I don't know if I'm going to be able to finish them by February 1st.

Also, I'm judging the BookTube Prize and while that's a lot of fun, and while I may, perhaps,

be reading some African-American authors I can't talk about it because the way the judging works.

They want us to keep all of our opinions to ourselves until the round is over.

So even if I am reading black authors I can't say anything.

And number three, I have some advance copies that I need to get to before their release

date and... yeah, that ties my hands a little bit, too.

So while I can't change those things very much

what I can do is fit in Black authors everywhere else.

To that end I have a TBR here for you guys.

Thing is though, on my channel I personally do not do TBRs.

If I make a list of books I want to read, that's the signal for my brain that all of

the work has already been done and I don't actually have to read the books.

It's the kiss of death.

As soon as I list a book, I'm never gonna touch it.

Instead I have a Pile of Possibilities.

And the idea here is that it's a bunch of books that are available to me and that I

would like to read as part of this challenge, but I'm not forcing myself to read it, there's

no pressure to read it.

If I find something else I want to read that's not on the list that's fine.

If I decide that all of the books on the list stink and I'm not in the mood for them anymore

and I want to do something completely different, it's fine.

It's just a starting point.

Right now my Pile of Possibilities stands at six books so I'm going to tell you about

them and a little bit about why I want to read each.

First is a book that every time I see it I swear I'm going to read it soon but I just

haven't gotten there yet for some reason.

And that's What It Means When a Man Falls From the Sky by Lesley Nneka Arimah.

Priscilla at Bookie Charm has done a great review of it so I'll leave a link to that down below.

And Tatiana over at Musical Tati is reading it at this very moment and she's loving it as well.

It's a collection of 12 short stories and they appear to span many different genres.

Some take place in Nigeria, some take place in America, and the author is from Nigeria.

So if you're looking for specifically African-American authors for your own blackout or any of these

other challenges or things you may be doing, I'm not quite sure she would qualify.

I don't know if she considers herself part of the diaspora or not.

You would have to do some research.

But I'm going for Black authors more than African-American authors, so this one works for me.

Next, I know I want to read something by Beverly Jenkins.

I love her historicals.

And she does have a new series coming out but the first book doesn't drop until May.

So to hold me over in the meantime I'm thinking about picking up Indigo instead.

It's from her backlist.

If you mention one book by her, if you say, "Name one book by Beverly Jenkins you think

I should read," it ends up being this one.

And it was actually included in NPR's Top 100 Romances list which I'll link down below.

And, yeah.

This is a big hole in my romance, like, canon knowledge and I really should be getting to it.

Next is James Baldwin.

I haven't read James Baldwin yet.

I'm thinking about starting with his essays, specifically The Fire Next Time...

because yes.

In a related vein, the third book I'm looking at is What Truth Sounds Like: Robert F. Kennedy,

James Baldwin, and Our Unfinished Conversation About Race in America by Michael Eric Dyson.

I read Dyson's book The Tears We Cannot Stop and loved it.

So, just pretty much anything he writes now, I'm interested.

Next is another romance because I think with the, especially the BookTube Prize reading,

it's going to be all literary fiction and I'm going to need romance to lighten things up.

So this is London Bound by Nana Malone.

I am interested in this one especially because I have a soft spot for stories where a woman

gets out of a bad relationship or out of a bad situation and does something that she

always wanted to do and in the process of that, without really seeking love, finds love.

Dropping one person and then going off to find yourself, or to become yourself, or just

realize who you are, and in the process finding love?

That's a trope I'm always here for.

And last is Jam on the Vine by LaShonda Katrice Barnett.

I'm pretty sure I first heard about this book from Didi at Brown Girl Reading.

She had a rave review of it which I will also link down below with everything else.

It's historical fiction.

It takes place in the early 1900s in the American South, and it's about two women who found

the first female-owned - I think it's owned - African-American newspaper in the United States.

And it's Queer.

Yes, please!

So there we have it, a whole bunch of events related to Black History Month as well as

my own Pile of Possibilities.

Are you planning to read anything for Black History Month, or to participate in any of the events?

Do you have anything on your own Pile of Possibilities, or something you'd recommend for mine?

Let's have a gab down in the comments below.

Thank you for watching, subscribe if you're new, and I'll see you in the next video.

Bye!

[♪♪] Thanks for watching!

One more book to add to the Pile: Once Ghosted, Twice Shy by Alyssa Cole.

I don't know if I can wait for February, but I'll try! 🎁DO NOT OPEN 'TIL FEB 1ST🎁

Monday MUSING 04 | Jill maurer - Duration: 4:05.

Hello and welcome. Today is Monday January 28th which means this is the

28th video that I have uploaded in the year 2019. I am challenging myself to

upload a video every day for 2019, and I'm so glad that you're here with me.

There was some drama this week. The day that I uploaded my Architectural Pottery

video, it didn't work. It wasn't there. People weren't seeing it at all.

I could see in sort of the back end of YouTube that it was there, that I had

published it, but it wasn't showing up. Nobody could see it. Irene from Luxury

Lover and also Autumn Beckman, they had uploaded videos on the same day and they

were not showing up. At first I thought I had done something wrong, and then when

they both couldn't do it we knew there was some sort of problem with YouTube,

and we didn't know if it was going to be resolved. It was resolved. I ended up

having to take the video down, and put it back up again. So I just want you to know

that I will be uploading a video every day for 2019, but I cannot promise that

YouTube will actually show it to you! Hopefully they will. I'm really glad that

all got resolved. I also had just a little bit of fun with Bang Marry Kill.

It was a fun video to do, and I think it's nice just to remember every once in

a while that what we should really do is nothing more than just have fun. So that

was just a little romp that I enjoyed doing, and I'm so glad that you enjoyed

that video as well. Last Monday I asked you, since we have reached a thousand

subscribers, I asked you if you wanted me to to a Louis Vuitton giveaway or to

give away a piece of my jewelry. And the overwhelming majority said, in fact I

think all votes were for, giving away a piece of jewelry. So I will be doing that

this week. In fact I will record that video next and hopefully we'll get it up

Wednesday or Thursday so watch for that. And I'll pick three jewelry items and

the winner can pick from any of those. Hopefully there will be something there

that you would enjoy winning. Good luck to you all! Another exciting thing

happened this week. I was interviewed by Jackie Sabourin. She's got a YouTube channel

called Engaged at Any Age. Jackie is a love coach. she coaches women over 50 on

finding the love of their lives. She gives advice on how to create a

profile and how to sort of weed people out. And she also has done a series on

what to wear when you're having date, what to wear and what not to wear

on a date. And she wanted to interview me about jewelry ideas for what jewelry to

wear, what jewelry not to wear, and what handbag to carry or not. So that was a

lot of fun. We did the interview over Zoom. I had never even heard of Zoom! So

when that does appear, I will make sure to link it for you so that you can see it.

And I'm excited to see how that turned out. It's good to know how to use Zoom

because it is a great way to interview people on a channel, and it's gotten me

thinking a little bit about who I could interview. Because I have done some

interviews, but they've always been in person because I didn't know how to do

it any other way. And I will think about other people that I should interview. And

if you have any ideas of who you'd like to see me interview, let me know because

I do think it would be a lot of fun to interview other people on the channel.

Looking forward to this coming week of course I'll be doing that thousand

subscriber giveaway, and it will be a new month. I will talk about February

birthstones. And I also plan to review or just share

with you my Burberry coat collection. I don't have a lot of Burberry coats, but I

do really like the coats that I have and so I will share those with you and let

you know what I think about them. To give you a little snippet into my day, today

is Sunday so I'm shooting this so I can have it ready to be out for Monday

morning. My son is in culinary school, and he likes to you know just play in the

kitchen and create new things. I'll insert a little video here on what he

made for me today. My son is here. He has made two kinds of ceviche, and he's

turning them into fish tacos. Two different types of ceviche with rice

crackers and some homemade guacamole. Well that's it for this Monday Musing.

Again I am so happy that you are here. If you haven't subscribed yet please do so.

I'm uploading videos every day so we can see each other every day of 2019. Until

tomorrow!

Funko Pop claw machine: Can we get all the Dragonball Funko Pop? - Duration: 8:19.

Hey guys, make sure you watch until the end of the video...

just for some announcements and information.

Oh my God they have this! - Oh my God

Look at all these Funko!

DBZ. DBZ, Dragonball Z funko.

bisou bisou?

Are you trying to speak French right now?

Man we gotta try these! But I don't know if we can get them!

I don't care about this! - Huh, what?

What do you want? - I want socks.

Oh... Okay what is that?

I'm an otaku. That's my otaku pose.

So you're getting this? Dragon ball Z?

This is Funko pop, this is the stuff my sister likes.

And it's Dragonball Z which is the stuff that I like...

And that everyone in the world, and every guy likes.

You wanna get this?

I'm gonna try this a few times first. And then if I get frustrated I'll try the box.

Cheer up, otaku!

Otaku fighting!

What are you NOT an otaku now? Think you're better than us?

Umm... can I get that now? It's a weird angle.

How am I gonna hook it? - Just try it!

No plan, just do it? - Yes!

You know what would be nice? If I could just take out the ball and go for the box.

Yeah I think you should go for the box.

Ooh, we ran through coins so quickly. Four for one makes it so hard.

Alright one more ball and if not...

That looks good. - That looks great!

Oh YEAHHHH

Alright we got one dragon... dragon ball Z!

Alright now it's a hard decision: Which one should we get?

Mmm I don't know, I didn't think about this - Oh this!

Krillin, you like Krillin the best? No...

Why?

Get Super Saiyan Trunks.

Let's get Goku Nimbus. Goku flying Nimbus.

Which one? - Goku flying Nimbus.

Okay! We're getting this one.

Cool - That's cool!

Yeah I like this one. - Yeah.

Classic! Alright now we're gonna keep going.

You wanna get MORE of this?

Yeah how many can we get? We should try to get the whole set!

We don't have enough coins for that, but we should try to get as many as we can. - What???

What about my socks?

I'll buy you socks - NO! I'll just buy you socks! - NO!!!

You wanna get the box or the ball?

You can get the blue one I think (super saiyan Goku). Try it try it try it!

Try it!

Just try one time - One time? - Yeah.

Get it. You got it.

Get in!

I almost got in there. There is a hole there. So if it goes in the hole that would be great.

Should I try again? - Yeah.

I gotta try to rememeber what I do each time so I can adjust it.

Oh that went in there. That went in.

Don't you... Don't you dare!

I told you!

This place.. It's so easy to get now.

Two down. What's next? Let's keep going! - Oh my God!

Trunks? - But you already have these two...

Oh you don't have... - I don't have Super Saiyan Trunks and that's the one I want.

You like Krillin, you want Krillin right?

It's Krillin? I don't know I just saw the clothes. I just like the clothes.

Krillin is very... Oh, thank you.

Krillin is very... - I know I know, yeah.

You know him? - Yeah of course!

You saw the show before? - Yes.

Okay tell me, who is Krillin then, if you know Krillin so well?

Krillin - Okay tell me about him, what do you know about him?

He has no hair - You can just see that from the funko pop.

Okay now everybody is watching so I can't get the box.

Do you think the one lying down there is easier to get than the one standing up here?

I don't think this goes far back enough, so yeah I can no longer get that one because it doesn't go far back enough.

So I could either get the ball or... Oh they have Majin Buu, I didn't even see that. They have Majin Buu there.

I have 8 seconds. Should I try this box here?

I don't think it's a good idea. There are so many things it could hit.

three, two, one...

Oh uh... I messed that up. I should have decided earlier. Womp womp.

The eternal question: Box or ball.

This is dragonball z, you should get the ball maybe.

That's true it is Dragon BALL. Very clever Kelly.

BOX!

Creepy - BOX!

Did you say I'm creepy? You're creepy!

Oof, there's so many things it can hit.

Uh oh... Running a little low here.

Ooh now... - Maybe that's not a good idea.

We have one more play - That's it?

Do you ever notice it's always empty when we come here and five minutes later there's a million people?

And by a million people I mean... three people.

Looks fine.

Yes! On the last try!

Alright so which one do you want? Original Goku?

Goku?

Another hard choice!

I like super Saiyan Trunks, I also like Majin Buu, I also like Krillin, I also like normal Trunks, I also like Goku.

Okay choose one!

Which one?

You choose - Me?

No.

What the... What the...

Which one do you like best?

I don't know. - Have you seen Majin Buu?

You can go take a look at Majin Buu over there if you want.

Okay you can get that. Looks cool. - Okay I'll get Buu.

I'll get Buu. But I also love Trunks.

It's a tie between Trunks and Majin Buu.

Let's get Buu, let's get Buu.

Damn I wanna stay here and play more. Can we get the whole set?

Can we get all of them? Can we get all...

How many more coins do you think we need to get all of them?

We did really well. We got the ball twice and the box once.

Yeah. and this one is so easy to get now!

My skills have improved. I realized the perfect way.

I was looking at it all wrong.

I realized you can't look at the claw. You have to think of this...

going to the center, from both sides, and then it's perfect, then you tap it and, *click and then it grabs perfectly.

Nice speech!

I'm so excited. The adrenaline is flowing through my body.

Can we call her... - No I'm enjoying this moment.

I want her to come over and discover we have won it.

Hey guys we forgot to show what we won, so here it is.

And just as a reminder we're still doing a giveaway from the last video, yeah this one.

We'll also throw in a few more things, so make sure if you haven't already, you can watch that video. I'll put a link in the description below.

So if you haven't already, make sure you leave a comment on that, and we'll throw in a few more things too.

Just as a way of saying thank you.

Otherwise, if you're new make sure to like and subscribe.

Oh and we'll also do a giveaway at 200 subscribers. So stay tuned for that.

We don't know exactly what we're gonna do but we're almost there, so when we get there we'll do a giveaway and we'll let you guys know.

Thanks for watching! We're having a lot of fun doing this.

We're having a lot of fun getting to know you guys too and watching your channels. I guess that's it!

I wish we could do a world tour too.

Yeah we're watching Plush Time Wins world tour. We hope one day we can do a world tour as well but we're not there yet.

Anyway guys, thanks for watching and we'll see you next time!

Leaders of S. Korea and Qatar agree to boost economic ties and promote bilateral cooperation - Duration: 2:43.

At the nation's top office, President Moon Jae-in met with the visiting Emir of Qatar.

During the sit-down, the duo agreed to upgrade their countries' comprehensive partnership...

and signed multiple MOUs.

Shin Se-min has the highlights from that session.

President Moon Jae-in's first diplomatic schedule of the year -- a summit meeting with Sheikh

Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, the visiting Emir of Qatar,... in which they discussed strengthening

their countries' ties both economically and culturally.

"I'm glad to see that South Korea and Qatar, as cherished friends and comprehensive partners,

have developed such friendly cooperation.

Our bilateral trade volume stands at 17 billion U.S. dollars, and many South Korean firms

have entered the Qatari market.

They've been contributing to Qatar's development of its infrastructure and economy."

A large chunk of that trade volume comes from Seoul's imports of Liquefied Natural Gas from

the Gulf State -- with industry data showing that more than 30 percent of Korea's total

LNG imports comes from Qatar.

And in a gesture that would help bring the two sides closer together than ever,... Qatar

say it will consider buying 60 new LNG carriers from Seoul.

The two leaders discussed ways for South Korean firms in Qatar to grow in several areas -- including

smart-farming and smart-grid technology... in addition to the sectors of energy and construction,

where they mainly are now.

Korea and Qatar have also agreed to forge closer ties in Qatari maritime affairs,...

with two sides promising to exchange related technologies and proceed with joint research

projects,... as Qatar plans to ease its dependence on foreign countries for food.

Solidifying their cooperation even further through cultural ties,... the two sides also

exchanged their experience in hosting global sporting events -- especially with Qatar now

prepping for the 2020 FIFA World Cup,... the first time for the event to be hosted by a

country in the Middle East.

"The 1988 Summer Olympics in Seoul, the 2002 Asian Games in Busan, the 2002 FIFA World

Cup and the PyeongChang Winter Olympics.

Seoul has experience in hosting multiple large sporting events.

We will study those experiences and will be sure to ask for support."

"That support will start with transportation infratructure on land and on the sea -- President

Moon having suggested shipping Qatar buses that run on compressed natural gas... as the

Gulf state readys itself to welcome the world for the 2020 World Cup.

Shin Se-min, Arirang News."

And my diet was disordered

That ruined my health

And I thought that at this time of life

I should live healthier

And put more thoughts into what I eat

That's what got me started in cooking

And they taste very nice now, that natural sweetness

You can tell if a dish is good from the smell

And the tea room is the opposite, it's quiet and still

A house has to incorporate static and dynamic features to be complete

I have an above-average level of curiosity

At this age

I still want to explore more

I would rather die than do nothing

Forging ahead is my lifelong pursuit

Essence Of Murli 29-01-19 - Duration: 7:11.

Om Shanti !

Today's Murli Date Is 29th January 2019

Essence: Sweet children, you now have to go to the towers of peace and happiness

and you therefore have to continue to transform and reform your old natures and characters.

Question: What is the way for your head to be constantly refreshed?

Answer: Churn the things that the Father tells you.

By churning the ocean of knowledge, your head becomes refreshed.

( Churning of knowledge is like exercising mind. We become alert and fresh )

Those who are always refreshed are also able to serve others.

Their batteries remain constantly charged

because, their connection remains with the Almighty Authority Father by churning knowledge.

Song: Show the path to the blind dear God!

Essence for dharna: 1. In order to receive a scholarship, make great effort.

Become a teacher and teach others Raja Yoga.

Become a guide and do the service of showing everyone the path home.

2. Charge your battery by having remembrance of the Almighty Authority Father.

After making a promise to the Father, never be struck by lust.

Blessing: May you be a special actor who experiences the combined form by constantly keeping the company of the Lord.

When children say "Baba" from their hearts, then Dilaram, the Comforter of Hearts, becomes present

and this is why it is said that the Lord is present.

Special souls are anyway combined.

People say: Wherever I look, I see only You, and you children say: Whatever we do, wherever we go, the Father is with us.

He is called Karankaravanhar (One who does and inspires others to do)

and so karanhar (one who does) and Karavanhar (One who inspires) are combined.

Those who play their parts with this awareness become special actors.

Slogan: Stay in this old world while considering yourself to be a guest and you will be able to say "Get out!" to the old sanskars and thoughts.

To the sweetest, beloved, long-lost and now-found children, love, remembrance and good morning from the Mother, the Father, BapDada.

The spiritual Father says namaste to the spiritual children.

We spiritual children convey to spiritual Baapdada, our love our remembrance, our good morning & our namaste namaste

Special effort to become equal to Father Brahma.

According to the time, now become constantly unshakeable, immovable and full of all treasures, the same as Father Brahma.

If there is the slightest upheaval you will not be able to experience all treasures.

You have received so many treasures from the Father

and the means to keep those treasures with you for ever is to remain constantly unshakeable and immovable.

By remaining unshakable you will constantly continue to experience happiness.

Om Shanti !

N. Korea and China strengthen ties ahead of second Pyeongyang-Washington summit through.. - Duration: 2:01.

Pyeongyang and Beijing appear to be seeking to boost relations.

The regime sent artists to perform a show in China, to celebrate decades of diplomatic

ties.

Also, the two sides may have coordinated strategies for the upcoming North Korea-U.S. summit.

Oh Jung-hee fills us in on the latest.

North Korea and China are forging stronger ties once again ahead of the North Korea-U.S.

summit.

According to Chinese media outlets, Chinese President Xi Jinping met with North Korea's

Ri Su-yong in Beijing on Sunday and watched a performance by a visiting North Korean art

troupe.

A group of about 280 North Korean artists went to the Chinese capital last week after

being invited by China's ruling party... and Ri Su-yong, who heads Pyeongyang's International

Department, led the group.

This was the first performance by North Korean artists in China since December 2015.

Pyeongyang and Beijing celebrated their 70 years of diplomatic relations, while exchanging

messages of (quote)"cordial greetings" and (quote)"profound friendship."

But while showing their strong ties, Chinese President also took the opportunity to say...

that Beijing will pursue an active role in denuclearization talks.

Mentioning he's had four summits with the North Korean leader since 2018, Xi highlighted

that Beijing is ready to work with Pyeongyang in achieving world peace and stability.

The concert comes three weeks after Kim Jong-un crossed over to Beijing for the fourth time

earlier this year to discuss strategies on nuclear negotiations.

And it also comes a month before the second North Korea-U.S. summit, expected to be held

in late February.

Pundits believe Kim Jong-un and Xi Jinping could have exchanged opinions once again on

the upcoming summit to coordinate strategies... through the visiting North Korean delegation.

Oh Jung-hee, Arirang News.

[Bonsai Handmade]How To Make Mini Bonsai Tree Wire Copper 02 - Duration: 27:01.

We need 32m of copper wire. :))

Wrap them into 80 circles

And cut them into pieces of copper wire 40 cm long

Fold them together and insert 4mm beads.

Take a fear as a pillar and wrap it around with a length of 0.5 cm

With 55 pieces we divided into 5 parts.

At the rate of 20 pieces, 15 pieces, 10 pieces, 5 and 5 pieces

And start twisting them together to form small branches

Continue twisting small branches to form larger branches.

Twist until your hands are tired and you should drink water. J/K :D

And the remaining 25 pieces to make the trunk bigger.

Decide to leave a long distance between branches.

Start making the trunk bigger

Evenly divided from tree tops to stems

Try to twist tightly so that the tree does not break

Fix the trunk, start making the roots of the tree

Divide the pieces of copper wire and twist it tightly.

Finally find pots suitable for bonsai trees

I use white debris to decorate the aquarium bottom and white glue to bind bonsai plants with decorative pots.

A layer of glue and a layer of stone.

Wait 24 hours for the glue to dry.

Start removing accessories

Edit the shape of the tree.

Create corners or curves for plants to look natural

Depending on the beauty of each person, the work will be unique

Wish you complete the bonsai tree

Korean literature sees success overseas - Duration: 2:19.

The novel " Kim Ji-young, Born in 1982" is garnering immense popularity in Japan.

Not a surprising development considering how Korean literature is highly in demand abroad

these days.

Yoon Jung-min zooms in on the growing success of these works.

"Kim Ji-young, Born in 1982", by South Korean author Cho Nam-ju has sold more than 50-thousand

copies in Japan since its release last December.

The novel portrays 30-something Kim Ji-young, who experiences gender discrimination in society

through a series of anecdotes.

The heroine represents ordinary women in society.

Her name "Kim Ji-young" uses the most common first name for girls born in late 70s and

early 80s in Korea.

The issues of unfairness resonate with readers not just in Korea, but also in neighboring

Japan.

"Japanese society also recognizes the alienation of women and gender discrimination, just as

in Korean society.

Such issues have been publicly brought up, and the novel has provided an opportunity

to discuss gender issues in Japan, too."

According to statistics by the Culture Ministry last year, fewer and fewer people tend to

read these days,... but some Korean literature has proved successful both at home and abroad.

"The Vegetarian" by Han Kang, a story about a woman refusing to eat meat, won the Man

Booker International Prize in 2016 after being introduced in the U.K.

And "Please Look After Mom" by Shin Kyung-sook, which looks at the self-sacrifice of mothers,...

has been gaining attention in the U.S. "Demand for Korean literature is increasing.

It is important to nurture professional translators who have a high understanding of cultures

of both countries, in addition to linguistic talents.

... I believe local publishers should work harder to make the most of opportunities based

on the Korean Wave in literature.

Also, our society needs to take more interest in literature to create good content."

"Experts say literature has the power to affect readers regardless of nationality or ethnicity,...

and that access to works from different cultures can improve the overall quality and variety

of literature for readers around the world.

Yoon Jung-min, Arirang News."

20 RANDOM FAKTAA MINUSTA 🎀 | pahalapsi - Duration: 6:18.

♪ Electronic music ♪

Hi there!

if you are new to this channel,

welcome to the gloomy group!

my name is Suski

and this video was supposed to be a 150K special

150K followers passed a while ago

someone could say that Suski, you are late again

because there's already more than 160K followers

but let's not get too caught up in that

today I'm going to tell totally random facts about myself

including the weird habit of mine

and one thing

that no one has ever heard me saying

within my 10 year career on social media

not even once!

but without further ado,

let's jump right into the facts

fact number one

I established my very first food blog

approximately 13-14 years ago

and it was called "Puhkipalanutta" (= translated: burned to the ground")

fact number 2

i'm usually the last person

to get angry at any point

but.. this one thing gets my heart racing

let's imagine a situation like this:

someone grabs a plate on a buffet and stuffs it up with food

and then he goes to the table,

eats some of the food he has taken

and a moment later throws the rest of the food away

I have nine tattoos all over my body, but..

but yeah... this just proves that I suck at math

because there are actually 10 tattoos

and I most certainly did not get an A in math when I was still in college..

this one tattoo seems to be so big

that I really don't know if this counts as just one tattoo

*laughs*

I have never been on a rollercoaster

I have never tried downhill skiing

I collect crystals, skulls and everything mystical to decorate my walls

♪ Light piano music playing ♪

even though I have gradutated as a master baker

I work as a confectioner

so I create lovely cakes, pastries and everything sweet at my workplace

but....BUT... where do you work?

Suski, where do you work exactly?

because I have a craving for those cakes and treats?

*slurping*

I work in a bakery called Heinosen Leipomo

I have the best colleague at work

and together we create cakes and pastries at Heinosen Leipomo

I have a weird habit of

lifting my right knee to the kitchen counter

whenever I scroll my phone there

and the same habit repeats itself when it's time to do the makeup in the bathroom

this is purely a movement of instinct

because most of the time I don't even notice making the movement

I just tend to find myself in these strange postures

I switched my vegetarian diet to a vegan diet

after watching a documentary called

"What the Health"

I strongly recommend you to watch this

check it out

I have two ultimate celebrity- crushes

the first one is called Jarkko Ahola

and the other one Alexander Skarsgård

i mean...ahh!

I believe in horoscopes

and that the full moon can have an effect in our lives

my zodiac sign is taurus,

my risign sign is leo

and my moon sign is libra

and I think my chinese zodiac sign was goat

even though I rarely read those

If you can leave my house without taking a single bite

it's a miracle of some sort

because I'm a real Moominmamma

always making food and offering food to quests

Snork: I'm hungry

Moominmamma: eat

I dream about having my very own tv-show

in which I would bake or cook something wonderful

I have no idea why I feel terrified to say my dreams aloud

but somehow it seems it's not allowed to talk about dreams on social media

but.. that's what I dream about

the latest movie that made me bawl my eyes out

was called Equals

I have a phobia of driving a car

just the thought that I would be the one driving the vehicle makes me terrified

vanilla-, coconut-, and cocoa scented lotions and shampoos

can even make me gag

To me those (food) scented lotions

feel like rubbing a deep frying oil on the skin

yuck

I get this question frequently:

"how many piercings do you have"

so I think we could count them right here and now

one.. two... three

If didn't lose count, I have 17 piercings at the moment

I have had microdermals on my forehead

and a belly button piercing

but I took them off. so, 17 piercings + 3 piercings

equals 20 piercings at maximum

That was my 20 random facts - tag

leave a comment below and tell me one totally random

strange fact about you

I would love to get to know you too
