The nominees for the anime awards are out! So what's up guys Foxen here! Today

let's have a little bit of fun let's go down every single anime award category.

I'll go ahead and give you my thoughts on it. I'm sure you're gonna have very

different opinions but this should be fun!

I'll give you two picks who I think is gonna win and who should win. Definitely

feel free to leave your own picks down below. The first category up is best

opening. For this one we have six the ACCA the ancient Magus Bridge, attack on Titan

season 2, my hero academia season 2, princess principal and shouwa Genroku

Rakugo. Out of these six the only one I haven't seen is princess principal. To be

honest I thought this was gonna be a really hard pick for me. It was either

gonna be my hero academia or attack on Titan but for whatever reason for my

hero academia they went with the first theme for season 2 and sure totally fine

if you like that one better but I do like the second opening for season 2 a

lot more. It probably has to do with me being in Japan during that time so they

were playing in everywhere. So who should win I think attack on Titan season 2.

Who's going to win honestly I do think they could go either way with my hero

academia or attack on Titan so who do you think is gonna win?

Leave your pick down below. Next up nominated for best ending you have Land of

the lustrous, Miss Kobayashi's Dragon maid, blood blockade battlefront and beyond,

recovery of an MMO junkie, just because, and March comes in like a lion

season 2. Let me start off by being totally honest that I'm one of those

people that usually skips the ending, never the opening but a lot of times the

ending. So who should win out of the six? The only ones I do remember is the MMO

Junkie one and the land of lustrous. I could really go either way on both of

those. Now who is going to win? Seeing that this is probably mostly gonna be

crunchyroll audience I think that is gonna heavily lean towards the Dragon

main or the MMO junkie one. If I really had to bet money on one I would say the

dragon main and really just cuz more people seem to know about it. Next

category best films he got your name kimi no na wa, a silent voice, in this

corner of the world, girls on Panzer the film, kizumonogatari 3, and Fate Stay

Heaven's Feel .When i first saw this i was thinking why is your name and a silent

voice on this at all? they were movies from 2016 i guess the

reason they do qualify here is since they got a US release last year these

two movies also happen to be the only ones i did happen to see which i think

might be true for most people that's why even though i think it's a little unfair

the one that sure one end going to win it's gonna be kimi no na wa and once

again honestly it just seems totally unfair

i'm sure most people voting haven't even seen these other ones although that

doesn't even sound too different from the oscars next category best CGI Yuri

creators kado the right answer land of

illustrious inuyasha ki knights and magic and finally attack on titan so far

this category is very interesting let's start with the first one week readers

it's pretty we're seeing this year the only thing cg might have been the source

from the main villain and of course all the mix it seems a little weird to put

it on here likewise I have seen Knights and magic

the only thing cgu in that series where the monsters and all the mechs right

next to it do you have a new Yoshiki this one did have a lot of CG finds but

honestly I would not put this in best CGI category at all even though I did

enjoy the series someone the CG in this series reminded me of stuff I saw like a

Nintendo 64 or Playstation especially towards the end

attack on Titan Season 2 is another fun one of course amount of CG here was a

call so Titan and also some horses the colossal Titan being the massive

complaint for a lot of people so personally my pick for the one that

should win should be a land of the Buster's the entire thing is freaking CG

and it looks just gorgeous unfortunately I do think there's a slight chance that

attack on Titan is gonna win just because a lot more people have seen it

next up best score for this one you have made in abyss little witch academia

Lando the lustrous the ancient Magus bride the ACC and re-creators for me the

only score that I could really remember are the ones for maiden abyss and reek

readers and really these are two very different series I could really see more

people liking maiden abyss but my pick is definitely gonna go for recruiters

the music was just top-notch and actually now that

think about it I'm surprised to not see attack on Titan season 2 on here anyway

for the one that I think is gonna win is gonna be made in abyss it seems a lot

more people like that one then recreate errs next up best animation you got a

silent voice my hero academia season 2 Lando baluster is Miss Kobayashi's

Dragon made little witch academia and March comes in like a lion first off the

one I think is going to win once again there's gonna be this very strong

dislike of CG so that one's out land of lustrous after that I think the one that

really easily wins is my hero academia the animation for season 2 was just

gorgeous and a lot more people know about it for me and as you might know

I'm a huge fan of my here academia but I do think that animation for our solemn

voice was better and it's totally unfair since you are comparing a TV anime to a

movie but either way even though I did have some problems with a silent voice I

do think that one should win next up best action for this one he have faint

iron blooded orphan season to attack on Titan season - my hero academia season 2

blood blockade and Lando the Luster's for this one hmm

was Gundam even last year I forgot about this for this one once again I think

there's two clear winners it's how they're gonna be between Maya academia

or attack on Titan season 2 I think this one is gonna be by far the closest

category just by a little bit I think attack on Titan season 2 is gonna win

out that one's my pick anyway so I don't know if or the one that should win it

really is a coin flip between the two take your pick next up best drama yeah

Rock ago March comes in like a lion made in abyss the ancient Magus bride scum -

ish and the ACCA for this one if you actually talking about actual drama it

should come down between rakugo and scum - ish and once again just talking about

drama even though I have a lot of problems with the series I would give it

a scum swish for the one that's actually gonna win I got a feeling more people

are gonna vote for maiden abyss easily out of all these it's the most

well-known one next up best comedy for this funny ham is Kobayashi's dragon

made mr. Amazo season - little bitch academia Kona Suba gamers and

to their children so from these six picks I seen half of these and it's

funny because I don't really consider a little witch academia or miss Kobayashi

use dragon made as a comedy then you do have some comedic elements but they're

not comedies I think for this one the one that should win and will win is

easily Chronos the last season - next up best slice of life for this phone you

have MMO junkie sukiyaki dead girl's last trip

Kimmo new friends Sakura quest and monster grows for this one you might

already know my pig it should easily go to Sakai request however the one that I

think is going to win I don't think it's gonna be that close but the two options

are gonna be MMO junkie and sukiyaki death my money would go to sukiyaki to

next category best continuing series you got March comes in like a lion iron

blood orphans Dragon Ball super case closed

all-out and Naruto wait what the hell how did boards whose dad get on this

list hmm anyway I think I'm gonna be biased like most people and say Dragon

Ball super that one will one and should win next category best girl for this one

you have a chuckle xisa Mariko servo Akko and sue you I'm actually surprised

to see two girls from my hero academia here just seeing that I think it's

pretty obvious that someone from that anime is gonna win my money is gonna be

on our choco or choco will win and should win next up

the best boy award for this one you have Shoto

Rey Deku Kazuma Fafnir and Yumiko once again two pigs from my here academia it

most likely will go to one of them but you also have Kozma thrown in here this

is why I think the vote is gonna be split between the two guys in my hero

academia Kazuma might end up winning as for who should win my two picks would be

Kozma and Deku just by a little I'm gonna have to say tech the one who will

win once again is gonna be a toss-up between Shoto

deco and Kazuma I really do think Kozma has a chance

so my money is gonna go on him next category best hero for this one you have

ACOs some red hair girl Deku Nana chief some other character I

don't know and chisa so of course I'm gonna be biased and rule out those

characters I don't know I think literally the one that's gonna boy

for this category is gonna be easily deck for the one that should win though

I do really like Knology but I don't really see her being too heroic I'm

gonna give it to deco too next category best and villain for this

one we have stained Tanya the villain from maiden abyss and be honest you

don't know his name either these other two villains I don't know

and the one from inuyasha key it's funny just seeing Tanya in here I don't really

see her as a villain so for my personal pick I'm gonna go with the guy from made

in a bist easily although the one that I think is gonna win is gonna be stained

from my hero academia alright getting into the big ones we have anime of the

year for this one we have made into bins little witch academia land of the

lustrous croco go March comes in like a lion and my hero academia I trust you

guys have seen my top 10 anime of last year in that for these anime made my

list for the best anime of the year though it will come down to little much

academia or my hero academia but I do think my hair academia was stronger so I

go with that one for the one that will win I do wonder how high the popularity

is for made in the biz I think my hair academia is just that much bigger so

that one is gonna win next up best manga for this one I have no idea what any of

these are and be honest you don't know either oh wait there is one and that's

gonna be you raka go for the one that will win and honestly for most people

voting I think most people have a new idea either but I do think the one and

the bottom right is gonna win just because boobs anyway then is it all

anime Award nominees definitely poster picks down below of who you want to win

out of autonomy that came out last year I'm actually surprised of how much got

left out anyway if you did enjoy my quick thoughts on this definitely give

this a thumbs up and subscribe let me also know if you want to see a follow-up

video later after the results are out that should be fun don't worry Yuri on

ice cannot win it didn't come out last year so post your pics down below

subscribe and I'll see you guys later

Avoid Chatter on Your Mill - Haas Automation Tip of the Day - Duration: 10:26.

- Hello and welcome to another Haas Tip of the Day.

Right now we're gonna cover mill chatter

and we're gonna give you some general tips

on how to avoid it.

I promise, if you stick around to the end of the video,

we're gonna show you what these tuning forks are for.

(melodic hum)

(upbeat music)

Okay welcome to the chatter zone.

While this is running, you can make your best guess

as to the cause of this chatter.

Okay do you wanna hear the most annoying sound in the world?

(humming)

(buzzing)

Okay so we know what chatter sounds like,

let's see what it looks like.

Oh, oh, nice.

The turn chatter is almost always a misnomer,

it means something different to lots of different people.

For our purposes, chatter is simply when

a tool or a workpiece vibrates enough

to give us surface problems,

and we definitely see that now.

The solution to our chatter problem

always comes down to these three aspects of our setup.

I'm talking about our workholding,

our tooling, and our part program.

Think about these aspects as interconnected, right?

If one of these aspects of our setup is compromised,

the other two need to step up and pick up the slack.

As an example, if we're forced to use a tool

that is crazy long, then our workholding

better be really strong to compensate.

Along those same lines,

our program is gonna have to be perfect.

We're gonna have to use modern toolpaths

and really ideal feeds and speeds

to compensate for using that odd tool.

Now let's take a look at our workholding here.

Clearly, our part is not being supported well.

With this part hanging out so far,

when the tool is in the cut,

it's really gonna be bouncing around,

giving us a lot of chatter.

(buzzing)

So we have to dampen this.

We could go with a larger vice

like an eight inch curved vice.

Right off the bat, we're gonna wanna center up this material

but even when I've done that,

I still get some chatter on both ends.

What I'm gonna do in this situation

is just go ahead and make some wider jaws.

I'm gonna change out these jaws right now

and we'll go from there.

(ding)

This workholding setup is a problem we can fix.

In fact, we did fix it, right?

We centered up our material and we went with wider jaws

that get a better hold on our part along its entire length.

If we couldn't touch our setup for some reason,

then we would have to look at strengthening

our program and our tooling.

Now let's take a look at our tooling.

Typically if we wanna dampen vibration

when it comes to our tooling,

we wanna shorten up those tools, but what part of it?

Well, all of it.

We wanna shorten up our holders, our flute length even,

shorten up everything you can.

Now sometimes you have no choice,

you've got a deep pocket you have to go into

to make some type of feature.

In that case, go with the shortest flute length possible.

You've got a solid carbide tool here

that only has the flutes necessary

for the pocket that you have to create.

Now these are some unique tools, right?

If you look at the end of this guy,

it actually has variable flute spacing.

This interrupts our cut and cuts down on chatter.

Along these same lines, the Widia that I'm using or will use

along the outside of our part has a variable helix.

It's not a constant helix and it has

variable pitch teeth on the end, variable flute.

These interruptions in the cut keep us

from finding a sweet spot where things tend to chatter.

Going with some special tools can also

get you out of trouble faster.

By going with ideal tools for our job,

we were able to get rid of chatter.

But what if we couldn't change our tools?

What if we had to use a long holder

or if we had to use a long end mill?

Again, in that case, we would have to strengthen

our workholding or strengthen our program.

Now we're gonna go back to the tuning forks now, as promised

and give you a little physics experiment

that'll help illustrate how small changes to our program

can help erase chatter.

With these two tuning forks,

we're gonna demonstrate resonance.

Resonance is when the natural frequencies of two objects

combine and they amplify each other.

Sometimes you'll hear that on a CNC machine,

when you hear that little twinge,

that little high pitched squeal

and it builds and builds until it gets away from itself.

I'm gonna set this tuning fork up against our ping pong ball

and give the second tuning fork a whack.

(melodic hum) (dinging)

Pretty amazing, right?

It's like remote control.

Okay now watch this.

If I adjust this tuning fork so it no longer

creates the same C note as this tuning fork,

and I tap it, (melodic hum)

it now creates a slightly different sound

and it's no longer exciting the second tuning fork.

In this same way,

sometimes the natural frequencies of our tooling

vibrated just the right frequency to excite our workholding

or our part that might be hanging out a little bit.

If we can just change our tooling in some way,

adjust that tool up or down like we adjusted our tuning fork

we can change the natural frequency of our tooling

and stop our chatter.

A CNC machine is not a tuning fork, though.

We've got a whole lot of things we can play with

from within our program.

Our feeds and our speeds,

our depth of cuts, both axial and radial,

and also just our toolpaths in general.

We've got these modern toolpaths

that can give us a constant tool engagement.

Now the closest thing to a magic button on our machine

is this spindle override button.

We've all walked up to the machine

when we hear that chatter start to build, start to resonate,

we've pressed the minus 10% spindle button twice

and seen that chatter disappear.

But sometimes that's not good enough.

Now remember, looking at our tuning fork,

when we adjusted this down,

(melodic hum)

we got out of the resonance zone.

In the same way, I can adjust this tuning fork up.

(melodic hum)

No resonance.

Again, moving it back down to the middle,

we can end up in the sweet spot

(melodic hum)

where we create that resonance.

In the same way, on a CNC machine,

moving the RPM down will often fix our problem,

but sometimes, especially with the longer tools,

moving our RPM up can get us out of that area of resonance

and stop the chatter.

So I've lowered my RPM and my chatter goes away

for about three seconds, right?

And then we hear it, we hear the chatter come right back

as that tool runs into the inside corner.

Let me grab my part here and show you what's going on.

What happened here is that our tool engagement,

the percent of the tool that's engaged

in the material at any one time is constantly changing.

At one point in the pocket,

we might have a 15% tool engagement,

and the tool is happy running at 3,000 RPMs.

At another spot on the pocket,

we might have a 40% tool engagement,

and at that point, we would need to lower our RPM

to 2,000 RPM to get rid of the chatter.

Here in this slot or this channel here,

with a very long tool, we might have to lower the RPM

to 1,000 RPMs because we've got 50%

of the tool engaged in that cut.

It's impossible to find a perfect feed and speed

that's gonna work in every single corner

of this old style pocket.

You have to slow down your entire program

to avoid chatter in just a few of those odd spots.

This is a beauty of the newer toolpaths.

We're using adaptive toolpaths, dynamic toolpaths.

There's toolpaths like a volume mill that actually

base a toolpath based on the size of the chips,

but what we're doing here is giving ourselves

a constant tool engagement.

This is a game changer,

this has changed the world of machining.

This is using an adaptive or dynamic toolpath.

Our tool engagement is constant

throughout the entire pocketing machine.

I don't even care what that engagement is, 10%, 30%.

What I care about is that that tool load,

the engagement, isn't changing.

Once I find the perfect RPM or the perfect feed rate,

I can stick with it through the entire pocket.

If I only had one bit of information to give you today,

it would be this, find yourself a canned system

that has a modern high speed machining toolpath

that has constant engagement.

Well this has been a 10,000 foot overview of a giant topic.

Remember, your workholding, your tooling,

and your program are linked.

If you're weak in one area, the other two

are gonna have to step up and pick up the slack.

Now if you've learned something in today's video,

Differential Privacy - Simply Explained - Duration: 6:59.

These days companies are using more and more of our data to improve their products and

services.

And it makes a lot of sense if you think about it.

It's better to measure what your users like then to guess and build products that no one

wants to use.

However this also is very dangerous.

It undermines our privacy because the collected data can be quite sensitive, causing harm

if it would leak.

So companies love data to improve their products but we as users want to protect our privacy.

These contradicting needs can be satisfied with a technique called differential privacy.

It allows companies to collect information about their users without compromising the

privacy of an individual.

But let's first take a look at why we would go through all this trouble.

Companies could also just take our data, remove our names and call it a day.

Right?

Not quite!

There are two problems with this approach.

First of all: this anonymization process usually happens on the servers of the companies that

collect your data.

So you have to trust them to really remove these identifiable records.

And secondly, how anonymous is "anonymized" data really?

In 2006 Netflix started a competition called the "Netflix Prize".

Competing teams had to create an algorithm that could predict how someone would rate

a movie.

To help with this challenge, Netflix provided a dataset that contained over 100 million

ratings submitted by over 480,000 users for more then 17,000 movies.

Netflix of course anonymized this dataset by removing the names of users and by replacing

some ratings with fake and random ratings.

Even though that sounds pretty anonymous, it wasn't.

Two computer scientists from the University of Texas published a paper in 2008 that said

that they had successfully identified people from this dataset by combining it with data

from IMDb.

These types of attacks are called linkage attacks and it happens when pieces of seemingly

anonymous data can be combined to reveal real identities.

Another - more creepy - example would be the case of the governor of Massachusetts.

In the mid 1990's the state's Group Insurance Commission decided to publish the hospital

visits of state employees.

They anonymized the data by removing names, addresses and other fields that could identify

people.

However computer scientist Latanya Sweeney decided to show how easy it was to reverse

this.

She combined the published health records with voter registration records and simply

reduced the list.

There was only 1 person in the medical data that lived in the same ZIP code, had the same

gender and the same date of birth as the governor, thus exposing parts of his medical records.

In a later paper she noted that 87% of all Americans can be identified with only three

pieces of information: ZIP code, birthday and gender.

So much for anonymity.

Clearly this technique isn't enough to protect our privacy.

Differential privacy on the other hand neutralizes these types of attacks!

To explain how it works, let's assume that we want to get a view on how many people do

something embarrassing like picking their nose.

To do that, we setup a survey with the question "Do you pick your nose" and with YES and

NO buttons below it.

We collect all these answers on a server somewhere but instead of sending the real answer, we're

going to introduce some noise.

Let's say that Bob is a nose picker and he clicks on the YES button.

Before we send his response to the server, our differential privacy algorithm will flip

a coin.

If it's heads the algorithm sends Bob's real answer to our server.

If it's tails the algorithm flips a second coin and sends YES if it's tails or NO if

its heads.

Back on our server we see the data coming in but because of the added noise we can't

trust individual records.

Our record for Bob might say that he's a nose picker but there is at least a 1 in 4

chance that he's actually not a nose picker but that the answer was simply the effect

of the coin toss that the algorithm performed.

This is plausible deniability.

You can't be sure of people's answer so you can't judge them on it.

This is particularly interesting if you're collecting data about illegal behavior such

as drug use for instance.

Now because you know how the noise is distributed, you can compensate for it and end up with

a fairly accurate view on how many people are actually nose pickers.

Now of course the coin toss algorithm is just an example and a bit too simple.

Real world algorithms use the Laplace distribution to spread the data over a larger range and

increase the level of anonymity.

In the paper "The Algorithmic Foundations of Differential Privacy" it is noted that

differential privacy promises that the outcome of a survey will stay the same, wether or

not you participate in it.

Therefore you have no reason not to participate in the survey.

You don't have to fear that your data — in this case your nose picking habits — will

be exposed.

Alright so now we know what differential privacy is and how it works, let's look at who is

already using it.

Apple and Google are two of the biggest companies who are using it.

Apple started rolling out differential privacy in iOS 10 and macOS Sierra.

They use it to collect data on what websites are using a lot of power, what emoji's are

most used in a certain context and what words people are typing that aren't in the keyboards

dictionary.

Apple's implementation of different privacy is documented but not open source.

Google on the other hand has been developing an open source library for this.

They use it in Chrome to do studies on browser malware and in Maps to collect data about

the traffic in large cities.

But overall there aren't many companies who have adopted differential privacy and

those who have only use it for a small percentage of their data collection.

So why is that?

Well for starters: differential privacy is only usable for large datasets because of

the injected noise.

Using it on a tiny dataset will likely result in inaccurate data.

And then there is also the complexity of implementing it.

It's a lot more difficult to implement differential privacy compared to just reporting the real

data of users and "anonymize" it the old fashion way.

So the bottom line is that differential privacy can help companies to learn more about a group

of users without compromising the privacy of an individual within that group.

However adoption is still limited but it's clear that there is an increasing need in

ways to collect data about people without compromising their privacy.

So that was it for this video.

BIAS AMP 2 Plugin - METAL - Duration: 15:03.

Hi I'm Ola and today I'm checking out the new Bias Amp 2 plugin from

Positive Grid

Song *Feared - The Mare*

Now I made a video of the original Bias plug-in about three years ago and now

Positive Grid has released a new version called Bias Amp 2.

So what's cool about

the original Bias Amp is that you can design your own amplifier modeler where

you change out and configure the preamps, the tone stacks, poweramp, cab section and so on.

A smorgasbord for the tweaking nerd basically. Now in version 2 of Bias,

Positive Grid has supposedly upped their game and let's see here I have a list:

Improved dynamic touch response,

improved low to mid gain tones,

added tube types and amp packs,

saturation control,

bass guitar amp pack,

teamed up with Celestion for cabinet impulse responses,

new RTA frequency analyzing EQ,

100 new custom amps in the tonecloud,

new amp match with automatic amp dialing after audio file.

New amp match with automatic amp dialing after audio file?

What?

Why is this feature listed last? This should be like the top feature for this plugin.

Ok that got me kind of excited, I'm gonna put this up to the test and try and see

if Bias Amp 2 can amp match one of my Satan tones from one of my Feared albums

but let me start with hooking everything up.

So now I have everything hooked up,

I have the Solar A1.6 ET Artist hooked up into my Apollo 8. So I would say the

interface looks very familiar. You just click on the different

parts here and just change whatever you need to change and edit. You can also

click here if you want to quickly change between the different settings of the

preamp or the parametric EQ, here you have different tone stack that you can

choose from, power amp, transformer, cabinet, parametric EQ, and the amp match.

But obviously you can click on each and every one of these and you have the

full-fledged editing possibilities.

So up here you have the tonecloud and this is where you would find already

made amp models uploaded by other users.

Here you have Allan Marcus, a good friend of mine, and that's me! Let's click!

Rectomatch, this is the preset I made for the first Bias desktop video.

This is really loud.

Too loud watch out!

This is so loud that I nearly blew my speakers.

Something is wrong with the preset...

Something is wrong with the preset...

So let me try out a couple of presets.

Blues! That's my thing!

There you go! That's blues for you!

69 Supra lead.

High gain, British rock

Monster! Guess that's a Diezel.

Metal:

5153...

I really like this triple treadplate preset,

So let me tweak it a little bit.

So one thing that Positive Grid added were two

different preamp tubes so you have the 12ay7 and the 12bh7 which are

supposed to be able to handle more gain.

Oh look! The gain knob says 11.

It's just like that movie with the band and

the Marshall stacks that go to 11...

I think it was called the Matrix.

Yeah that sounds awesome.

There are so many parameters to change here let's

just go to the tone stack section. So this is basically the bass, middle and

the treble of an amplifier and obviously depending on which type of amp the bass,

middle and treble are located in different frequencies. So let's

try this one

Power Amp section! And here we have new power and tubes as well, I think the

6550 and the kt88 are new...

Nice!

We're getting somewhere guys!

Awesome!

Transformer: British style, American style, I guess it's Marshall or Mesa in this case.

Dynamic tone.

Okay it became a less dynamic...

Rectifier type. Hard and soft.

Soft...

okay

Cool!

Then we have the cabinet section and obviously as you can see you

have a bunch of different speakers to choose from and you also have different

microphones so you can choose between the sm57 and the c-1,3 you see there okay

So you can change between them and then just change the placement

Yeah sounds good!

So Positive Grid has teamed up with

Celestion for Bias Amp 2. You can check out different cabinets with

different classic Celestion speakers. Let's check out some modern vintage,

Neo-creamback! Okay let's try that!

That's pretty cool!

IR loader: you can upload your own impulse

responses and I have already done this.

So there you have that!

Okay let me save this real quick.

Save as new...

Metal

Ola tread...

Ola makes...

tonna sense.

Good

Now we're coming

to the part that makes me really excited and that is the amp match part

now supposedly Bias Amp can profile or match an already existing audio file of

guitar. I have so many of them from my previous Feared

albums and the Haunted. Amp Match 1 out of 3

Prepare the audio!

I have a real amp or I have a solo guitar track.

I HAVE A SOLO GUITAR TRACK.

NEXT!

Click the Browse file.

I have prepared a file.

FUROR!

Start capture!

Coffee break!

Alright it's complete!

Next

Connect your guitar to the input of your

audio interface.

Oh how convenient because my guitar is already plugged in

Capture the sound of your instrument.

Start capture.

Complete

Enter preset Name.

Fresh...

Great name Ola

Okay here we go

Let's listen to the original file.

And then the amp match.

Okay so obviously the clip of the audio signal was recorded with a seven string

and this is a six string so that's a bit of a difference there but otherwise I

think it sounds close. So let me tweak this real quick.

Let's go for the super gainy preamp tube.

We're getting there...

That sounds killer. Let's bring some of that bass back.

BARK yeah that sounds awesome to be honest!

So one thing here that I can

immediately tell and what I consider what makes or breaks an amp modeler,

whether it's a hardware unit or a plugin, is how the high-end sounds for distorted

sounds and with a lot of modelers the high-end is where you can hear if it's

modeled good or not. Usually the high-end becomes very flat in some cases but here

in Bias Amp 2 it actually sounds genuine for a modeler.

The impulse response used makes a big difference but how the different knobs

respond, makes a lot of sense. What I've done here, and it didn't really

take that long for me to hook this up, it sounds awesome. With that said I must

say that the absolute winner for the plugin is the amp matching segment now

this is what I think will be the real selling point for Bias Amp 2. It makes it

really easy to match an already recorded signal or your amplifier and

you don't have to tweak that much afterwards to get close to the reference sound.

I must say well done Positive Grid!

I'll upload these presets made in

this video to the tonecloud. And if you want to know what I'm using to record

these videos, check the description down below

Designer Insights: Upcoming Ranked Play Updates - Duration: 2:57.

Well met!

We've got some exciting stuff

to talk about today!

We've heard your feedback

on the current ranked ladder experience,

and we have a couple things that we want to do

to improve it.

First, the experience is really different

depending on where you end up

on the ladder each month.

For players at the top of the ladder,

they have to grind through too many ranks

to get back to where they were,

to get back to the point where it feels like

you're having fair and fun games again.

And for players at the bottom end of the ladder,

they actually don't get enough progression.

After just a few wins, you hit Rank 20

and some players feel like they're hitting a wall.

So what we're going to do is starting

at the end of the February season,

and when it rolls into the March season,

we're going to reset everybody

exactly 4 ranks.

So if you end February at Rank 15,

we'll reset you to Rank 19.

If you end at Legend,

you'll reset to Rank 4.

What I'm really excited about is if you can progress

more than 4 ranks in a season,

you'll actually start the next season

at a higher point

than you did the season before.

I think that's cool.

Also, we're making every rank 5 stars.

That evens them all out, every rank will be 5 stars.

And that means that every player

gets to feel the same amount of progression each month.

Combined, those two changes help

deal with another piece of feedback we've been getting

which is matchmaking.

Because the best players are reset

less deep into the ladder,

and because there are more stars

at the bottom of the ladder,

there's more places where players can be at,

matchmaking should feel a lot better,

especially around the Rank 20 point on the ladder.

Another change we're making is

whereas before you had to hit rank 20

to get your card back and monthly rewards,

now you'll just have to win 5 ranked games.

This is important because otherwise

whereas before rank 25 is 10 wins away from rank 20,

now that all ranks are 5 stars it's actually 25 wins away,

and we didn't want to make

that monthly card back harder to attain.

Overall, these changes should really help out

with that feeling of the grind for the Legend level players

and improve the feeling of progression and the matchmaking

for players at the bottom end of the ladder.

We think it's going to be awesome.

Actually we need your help to play it,

and over a couple months give us feedback,

so we can improve and iterate on it over time.

Thank you for the continued feedback, and I'll see you online.
