BMW X3 (F25) buying advice - Duration: 7:40.

This is the second generation BMW X3. The third generation is available now.

Not everyone liked the first generation. It had a pronounced styling, just like the first X1.

This one is more boring, though this model isn't. It's an M Sport, which looks cooler.

However, the X3 became more average and grew a size bigger.

The second generation X3 is almost the size of the first generation X5.

The well-known BMW recipe is rear-wheel drive, but at first only xDrive AWD was available.

It had pretty 4 and 6-cylinder engines, but no appetizing M version.

However, this X3 was available as xDrive 35i with the nice 3-liter straight-6 turbo gasoline engine.

And the xDrive 35d. I stumble over the xDrives, but that doesn't matter.

Those are nice engines that make the X3 a quick machine.

ENGINES gasoline, diesel

The 2014 facelift introduced models without all-wheel drive, which means the X3 has RWD.

Everyone with a BMW or Mercedes in the snow knows that RWD poses a challenge.

Those models look off-road worthy, but they're not.

There's a choice in rivals or alternatives for the X3.

The Audi Q5. The Volvo XC60 is a big rival. Many have been sold in the Netherlands.

The Mercedes GLC or GLK, depending on its age.

There's plenty of choice in SUVs this size.

Many cars are for sale on AutoTrack. An X3 is not a cheap car.

Over 300 X3s are for sale, of which 250 are of this generation.

The prices vary a lot. There are fresh cars, such as this one.

If you're on a budget, choose a high-mileage diesel with manual transmission.

The first X3s of this generation start a little below 20,000 euros.

PRICES minimum, maximum

The things to watch out for if you found a nice X3.

A general point for the diesel engines is that they like long drives.

You may find a low-mileage diesel, but the particulate filter needs to warm up for regeneration.

This may not be a good buy.

If a 2-liter diesel engine doesn't run well, a hose leading to the mass airflow sensor may have popped off.

That's an easy fix. A more critical point is a broken thermostat or water pump.

You'll miss good cooling, which can go very wrong.

If you see the thermometer doing strange things... Keep an eye on it. Something may be wrong.

The 4-cylinder gasoline engines have a timing chain that can stretch.

If you've seen our videos before, you know this can lead to a majorly damaged engine.

A whistling sound that increases with the rpm

could be an indication that something's wrong with the timing chain.

If an engine doesn't run well, check this.

Repairs are expensive.

Another well-know issue in these videos is the automatic transmission.

BMW says it never needs work, but it can't hurt to change or flush the oil every once in a while,

especially when there are more miles on the clock. This helps lengthen the transmission's life.

The X3's electronics seem reliable, but it can't hurt to check everything.

It can have a lot, from power seats to satnavs. Make sure everything works.

The alarm system is a specific point, especially with early X3s. BMW installed these systems.

There can be errors. Make sure you get the code. If it stops working, you'll still be able to drive.

That'd be convenient. The panoramic roof may not close anymore.

Sometimes this can be fixed with some lubrication; this part needs maintenance.

Make sure to check of it opens and closes properly.

Dealers tend to replace the whole roof, while specialists will repair it.

This may be a common trend.

The suspension. There have been problems with the vacuum pump until 2013.

You'll lose your power brakes. That's exciting in a heavy car.

I think most cars have been fixed.

The X3 is heavier and more powerful, so brakes and tires wear faster and cost more.

Check their condition so you won't have to buy brakes and tires first thing.

We found this car at Breeman BMW in Rotterdam.

I think this is a nice model. It has the M Sport package and a low mileage.

It costs some money, but it has a pretty color leather. It's complete.

THE BEST WAY TO LEARN HANDSTAND - Duration: 5:02.

Today I'd like to share my thoughts on what's the best way to learn a handstand.

What I mean by learn a handstand is to be able to hold it without any assistance for at least 10 seconds.

When I was in the process of teaching myself how to stand on my hands I tried various approaches,

but the method I'm gonna talk about gave the best results.

So without further ado, let's get down to the specifics.

I will talk about particular exercises, but the most important message of this video is how to schedule your workouts.

Handstand is a highly technical skill, that doesn't require you to build a lot of strength or endurance.

It's all about learning how to keep the balance by controlling individual parts of your body.

This is very difficult, especially in the beginning, because your mind doesn't know what's going on when you're inverted.

his is why I strongly believe that the fastest way to get the handstand

is to practice it everyday for 15 minutes or even less.

If you're highly motivated you can do it even twice a day,

because this practice won't be very strenuous.

By training so often you will get your mind used to the inverted position quickly

and this will allow you to start thinking about controlling the body.

Why only 15 minutes?

Because after this time your muscles are starting to get too tired and your learning efficiency drops significantly.

If you would go on training you could strain your muscles too much and that would negatively impact your next practice.

And the best part of this plan is that it doesn't colide with your regular full body workout

or split or whatever you're doing.

You can do it in the morning and handstands in the evening.

If you didn't kill your shoulders, then doing 15 minutes of handstand practice should not be a problem.

Before every practice I would recommend you to do this quick wrist warm up,

because without it you're risking an injury.

First you need to stretch them by performing around 20 reps of each of the following exercises.

Once you feel you have the full range of mobility

you should warm up the muscles in your forearms that are used to balance the handstand position.

This motion of pushing away with your fingers is what keeps you from falling on your back when you're standing on your hands,

so it's good to warm up and strengthen those muscles.

After doing 20 reps of that you should be ready for the 15 minutes of handstand exercises.

I am assuming here that you can already hold at least 30 second handstand by the wall.

It's purely about strength and endurance so to build it up you can practice it as a part of your regular workout.

So what should you do during those 15 minutes everyday?

Well, just try to hold the handstand as long as you can, there's really no way around it.

You try a couple of times, take a break, try again, take a break again and so on.

After 10-15 minutes of that you should start getting tired, so it's time to stop.

Even if you don't feel like you learned anything afterwards,

you just exposed your mind to another dose of how it feels to be inverted.

It's gonna get used to it more and more until one day something clicks in your brain

and you will be able to hold handstand out of the sudden.

This is how it is with this position and I've heard multiple people confirming this.

I recommend that you focus on learning how much of a swing you exactly need when kicking up with your leg

as this will be your first method of getting into the handstand position.

If you overdo it you will fall on your back or hit the wall.

If your swing is too weak, you won't get high enough.

Learning the exact amount of swing is a game of repetition, so this everyday practice will speed up the process.

Ideally you want to do it without any assistance

and when you lose your balance just land on the other side like that.

However if you feel like you need a wall behind you,

I would suggest to place your hands at least a meter away from it.

This way you're gonna have enough space to practice fighting for balance

if you happen to bring too much weight in front of you.

Practicing freestanding handstand too close to the wall could make you develop a habit of relying on it fully,

instead of trying to control the position with your hands and the rest of your body.

And that's it, there's no secret solution to learning the handstand.

Just 15 minutes everyday and you're gonna have your first 10 second hold in no time. See you later guys.

Toyota AE86 - Everything You Need to Know | Up to Speed - Duration: 12:05.

This episode of Up to Speed is brought to you by Squarespace

Have I got a story for you.

I was driving home from a late night on the mountain,

flying down the Touge, drifting the turns like the Drift King I am, when suddenly,

I spoted some headlights in your rearview, and they're coming fast.

I clutch kicked my car around the bend to shake the little challenger off but I just

couldn't lose it, it's sliding right behind me.

Is that an 8-6?

You're kidding me!

I'm the number two driver of the Akigi Red Suns God Damn it!

I slow for a turn but the punchy Carolla...

passes me?

Doesn't the driver even know this road?

After this slow right is a sharp left.

There's a ravine on the other side, he's gotta hit the brakes!

To my amazement the 8-6 flicks its tail from one side of the road to the other with ease.

The pulsing Eurobeat ends, and all I'm left with is the sight of a white hatchback leaving

me behind.

You know what the fu** this is!

This is everything you need to know to get Up to Speed on the Toyota AE86!

Hachi-Roku MOTHERFU****!

What makes the AE86 so cool is that for a long time, it wasn't.

While everyone in the world was drooling over the big dogs: The Skyline GT-R, The RX-7,

The NSX, and The Supra , the Carolla was riding it's own wave.

Other cars have more power, other cars are better looking,

Even in Toyota's own line up the Corolla was a under dog.

The Celica Supra was at the top, the MR2 was this weird spaceship little brother,

and the AE86 was just happy to be there,

knowing it would blow people's minds if given the chance.

Back in the 70s You either bought American or maybe german or british, because A.

there wasn't anything else and B.

It was basically your duty as an American.

But all of a sudden there were Japanese brands: Datsun, Honda and Toyota.

And their cars were good.

The Japanese saw the weak points in other brands and designed their cars to avoid them.

It might have been scary at the time but if you bought something Japanese, like a Toyota,

you could expect it to be reliable, well-engineered, and most importantly, affordable.

The Carolla had been all those things for nearly 17 years.

When first introduced, the Carolla was the smallest car in 'Yota's US lineup, and

maintained a rear wheel drive layout until the early 80s.

But Toyota couldn't ignore the benefits front wheel drive any longer.

It was more efficient, freed up interior space and was cheaper to build.

So in 1984, Toyota released a front wheel drive Carolla.

That's what the Corolla is, until this day.

So there you have it, everything you need to know to get up to speed on the- wait, sorry.

Oh yeah, tchI forgot.

Even though there was a front wheel drive version, Toyota also kept building

a rear wheel wheel drive version.

Using totally different layouts and platforms under the same name.

On top of that, the rear wheel drive version also had two versions, a two door coupe and

a three door lift back.

And then, There were two styles of each: The Levin, which had fixed headlights, and the

Trueno...Turino? Truno? Treno? No that was Trueno...

And the Trueno, which had pop up fu**ing headlights.

So, this rear wheel drive Corolla would be it's swan song, the ultimate culmination

of everything great about the Corolla.

So what do we call it?

Well, it'll be powered by a 4A engine, I's an E code chassis, and E80 to be exact, and

it'll be the 6 variant.

I've got it, the AE86!

Corolla, Ultimate form!

"Wait! It's over 9..."

Toyota restyled the Corolla's Coupe and liftback bodies, and dropped one of their

best engines EVER, on of THE BEST engines ever under the hood: The 4A-GE.

This fun size four banger was designed with two things in mind: powering small cars like

the 86, and RACIN'.

It had a cast iron block for strength, an aluminum head to add lightness, and a redline

of 7 and a half grand.

Do you know what that sounds like?

Do you?

Imagine your neighbor's a beekeeper, making honey in his backyard.

One afternoon you sneak back there, you want a taste, just a little bit o' taste that sweet sweet nasty goop

You open up a hive to grab some of that sweet honeycomb but it turns out he's not raising bees...

They're chainsaws, and they're pissed!

It sounds like that.

The 4A-GE only made 128 horsepower BUT the 86 had a curb weight of around about 2300 lbs.

The car had superb balance too, meaning the weight was evenly distributed between each wheel.

The result was super predictable and agile handling.

To get the power to the ground, the 86 didn't use fancy independent rear suspension,

this things gotta be affordable, 'member?

It had a live rear axle like a fu**ing muscle car.

This made doing fat skids super easy and pretty unavoidable.

The AE86 had no business being as good as it was.

It's a holy union of driving excellence.

The 86 was driven in pretty much every kind of racing you can imagine.

There were 86 racing leagues, it raced in the British Touring Car Championship and won

the whole series, twice!

And despite being two wheel drive the 86 was also a killer rally car.

But above the rest, there is one sport the AE86 is most famous for:

Ever heard of..."drifting"?

The Corolla's small size and snappy handling made it perfect for charging down the mountains of Japan

A young man named Keiichi Tsuchiya would drive these roads everyday in his own AE86.

He didn't have the money to race professionally, so Keiichi honed his skills on the mountain.

And the kid was a natural.

Keiichi's sweet drift moves made him unbeatable on the mountain, and he gained a huge underground following.

Just like me.

Spending all your time drifting on snowy mountain roads without killing yourself makes you a

pretty darn good driver.

But would sloshing around on a mountain make you that much better on a track?

Fu** yeah!

Keiichi was so good, he got sponsored to race professionally immediately.

He started winning so much, that he was like "if I keep winning by this much,

people are gonna get bored.

And if people get bored, they're not gonna watch me race."

So, he started drifting turns.

He gave 'em the ol' razzle dazzle.

And the fans frickin' loved it.

It's like he took a 5 minute phone call in the middle of a 4 Runner video.

Even while he was racing, he spent his free time on the mountain.

Keiichi was enough of a star that he convinced some sponsors to give him some money to make

a little short film of his oversteering exploits.

That film is called 'Pluspy'. 'Plus pee' 'Plusssspeee"

And it's like a legit art film.

Like, it's not just a drift tape, it's art.

The video took the car world by storm.

Just like me.

People were all like 'Whaaat?

"The fu** is going on?"

It was basically the Velvet Underground of drift tapes.

Without Pluspy there would be no Gymkhana, no Fast and Furious, no Donut!

No me!

Toyota ended production of the AE86 in 1987, with almost no changes over the course of its life.

In 2009 Toyota revealed the FT-86 concept, developed in partnership with Subaru.

It was a two-door, four cylinder, rear wheel drive coupe inspired by the 86.

Hail to the King, baby.

In the states it was released under two names: The Subaru BRZ and the Scion FR-S,

but in Japan it was just called the Toyota 86.

Just like the AE86, it didn't have a ton of power, but it was light, and it liked to drift like it's daddy.

Just like me.

It's ironic that the sport the AE86 helped create, is the reason you can't afford one anymore.

The drift tax is a real thing.

The new 86 is a love letter to the age when the old 86 flourished.

A time when people wanted a no frills daily driver that was also fun to drive.

Just like Jessica.

Maybe that time is gone.

But if the revived interest in the AE86 is anything to go by, people will want a simple,

reliable, tofu-delivering underdog for a long, long time.

DEEP STATE: Lawmaker says text exchanges among anti-Trump FBI officials reveals existence

of SECRET society opposed to president

The clearest indication yet that the Deep State is real and not some figment of a

conspiracy theorists imagination was revealed Monday evening by a Texas lawmaker in an interview

with Fox News.

In an appearance with Martha McCallum, Rep. John Radcliffe, along with Rep. Trey Gowdy,

R-S.C., said they and their staffs had reviewed some 50,000 text messages between disgraced

FBI counterterrorism agent Peter Strzok and his mistress, FBI lawyer Lisa Page that Attorney

General Jeff Sessions had made available.

After poring over those messages, Radcliffe made a stunning statement regarding their

contents.

What we learned today in the thousands of text messages that weve reviewed that

perhaps they may not have done that (checked their bias at the door), he said.

Theres certainly a factual basis to question whether or not they acted on that

bias.

We know about this insurance policy that was referenced in trying to prevent Donald Trump

from becoming president, he continued, as reported by The National Sentinel.

We learned today from information that in the immediate aftermath of his election

that there may have been a secret society of folks within the Department of Justice

and the FBI to include Page and Strzok to be working against him, the Texas lawmaker

said, in a bombshell.

Let that sink in for a moment: A secret society of Deep State operatives within

agencies of the U.S. government not some second-tier authoritarian power or third-world

banana republic.

The United States of America.

Radcliffes stunning statement came amid calls from Republicans and tens of millions

of Americans for a second special counsel to investigate what very clearly appears to

be a massive abuse of our justice and intelligence systems for the sake of thwarting a duly elected

president.

You couldnt script this any better as a Hollywood political thriller.

And lets not forget, this batch of text messages isnt even the full load from these

two anti-Trump sycophants.

Reports on Monday claimed that the FBI somehow lost five months worth of text exchanges

between Strzok and Page a period of time in which many things occurred that regarding

Trump, his administration, his transition, and a potential case of fired FBI Director

James Comey lying under oath.

We will leave no stone unturned to confirm with certainty why these text messages are

not now available to be produced and will use every technology available to determine

whether the missing messages are recoverable from another source, Sessions said in a

statement provided to Fox News regarding the missing months of texts.

If we are successful, we will update the congressional committees immediately. (Related:

The scandal that keeps on giving: FBI claims it LOST months of text messages belonging

to disgraced anti-Trump agent Peter Strzok.)

I have spoken to the Inspector General and a review is already underway to ascertain

what occurred and to determine if these records can be recovered in any other way.

If any wrongdoing were to be found to have caused this gap, appropriate legal disciplinary

action measures will be taken, he continued.

Many Republicans are incredulous that an agency as advanced technologically as the FBI could

just lose text messages especially given the agencys expertise in the forensic

retrieval of electronic data.

And yet, like we were supposed to believe that Hillary Clintons 33,000 emails she

never turned over to investigators and the IRS loss of data in the scandal involving

the targeting of conservative groups before the 2012 election, now were expected to

swallow this whole as well.

These same lawmakers have been screaming for Jeff Sessions to appoint a second special

counsel to look into all of this; I agree.

He should put his investigators first on Radcliffes allegations because to date those are the

most serious, as well as the biggest confirmation thus far that a Deep State not only

does exist but serves to undermine our republican (small r) form of government.
