Waching daily Jan 26 2018

If you're like most of us who are into beads and jewelry then you have an

affinity for all things sparkly and glittery. If that describes you then

you're going to love today's project. I'm going to show you how to make faux druzies.

Hi there, Sandy here, welcome to another Friday findings video at

keepsakecrafts.net. Here are a few faux druzies I made quite some time ago and also

an array of glitters and I'd have to tell you this project is messy, it involves

glitter and as the meme said, one does not simply wash away glitter, but oh, this

is just a fun project no matter how messy it is. You get some gorgeous

results, beautiful sparkle and shine, you can put them in any bezels you want.

These are all purchased bezels, you can use anything you want that will contain

the mixture and it's really very simple to do and fun to play and experiment

with different looks. You can see here as I experimented I got just different

shades. There are a lot of tutorials out there for making druzies and all the

ones that I've seen do it in slightly different ways.

I saw one gal do it completely out of polymer clay and glitter, she took some

clay, chopped it up into little pieces and then shook it like shake and bake in

glitter and then picked those up and baked them and that looked actually

nicer than I expected it to when I was watching the video. To help you clean up

the mess I highly recommend using a nonstick craft sheet, it doesn't matter

how neat you try to be this is going to be a messy process. The main thing that

you use is Mod Podge dimensional magic. I haven't tried putting this in the oven. I

should sacrifice one and just throw it in the oven and see how it behaves. I

suspect it probably won't do well. So you want to plan your project around not

having this go in the oven. Here's a project I did

a few years ago when I was making a dragon every week. What you don't really

see is that each of these drusies is actually on a custom-made polymer clay

bezel. I just made them kind of gray and silver, you can probably see it best on this

one, and then put the mixture on them after the bezels were baked, and you can

make your own polymer clay bezels like the ones that I showed you in a

previous Friday findings, or you can purchase them. This is also a great

opportunity to scour the clearance aisles and find maybe bezels with ugly

things in them. Sometimes these have, like this had just this really ugly cheap

looking acrylic stone in it and but it was a buck and I thought it was a great

bezel so I chipped out the stone and put that in. Now just for reference I

actually have a real druzy here, a real druzy haha. This is a real druzy stone, isn't it

amazing, it looks so blah and boring on the outside and then they crack it open

and you have this on the inside. So you could definitely do something like this

if you wanted where you have areas that are higher and rougher and areas that

are lower and not quite so chunky looking and I'll leave that up to you

for later to to play with later on. So what you'll need naturally besides the

dimensional magic is some glitter, and there are lots of different types of

glitters that work. Let me clear out some of this... when I went to the craft store to

buy glitter for this project, I remember even though that was years ago, they had these glass

glitters and I was just utterly enchanted by the little bottles. In fact

these actually stay out in my studio and they're just decoration. I gave one of

them to one of my dolls with a dragon because I thought it looked so magical,

but these are great glitters to use for these druzies, this is kind of chunky

glitter. In addition to the chunky glitter you'll need some superfine, extra

fine, glitter so we have these

and these. Now if your chunky glitter is colored then you want your superfine to

be clear or you can try and experiment with different combinations, but if you

want that color then have clear superfine. This is also some I don't

think this is superfine but you could certainly use this, you could use this

and maybe use the chunky lighter colored glitters and get different colors. What

doesn't work very well are glitters like this one that's mostly opaque, this just

doesn't have the right look. This is some very inexpensive glitter that you just

find in the craft section, like in the kids craft section, and you can use a

little bit of this to get some of the glimmer on top. Now it had been years

since I made these, so last night before I, as I was planning this video I put

this one together and remembered a few things. One of the things that you can do

if you're not happy with it when you're done you could always go over it again.

Let's say if I wanted to add a more high chunky section like this and leave maybe

one of the areas with fine glitter low like in the real one I could do that. I

could go back in afterwards and build this up some more. I mean cuz it's it's

kind of boring, actually. I think also the fact that this is in a black bezel it

doesn't do it any favors. I suspect it sucked the color out because I used some

colors like this and you don't, you almost don't even see them. So let's get

started and let's make some faux druzies. So these are just some other examples of

bezels like this was I think again on clearance, acrylic cheap looking stones,

you could pop them out and wouldn't that be a cool accent with three faux druzies

If you have a bezel that doesn't lie flat like this or even this with that

loop then you want something some kind of way to prop it up. On these I might

stick them in a wad of polymer clay and make sure they were level, with this one

I just folded a few thicknesses of index card to put that on just to keep it

level. The way I've seen many folks suggest doing this is to mix it right in

the bezel but I found that to be kind of tricky, it was hard to get it in the

corners, it was hard to get it mixed the way I wanted it. So what I prefer to do is

just find a little cup and mix up a quantity, that's what I did with this

bracelet. I mixed up a bunch of this and as it dried it got really chunky and I

was able to build it up like these and so it was less flat than this one and

you just need something to stir with, the toothpick will do just fine. So just pour

I don't know a teaspoon or so of your dimensional magic in there, maybe we'll

do some green and it's kind of like a recipe

al recipe for stew where you add a little bit of this and a little bit of

that, and maybe I'll try some of this blue in there just to see cuz I said not

to do it that way. So I'm gonna have to try it that way. Now this isn't the

superfine so we'll see how that mixes. This is... is ultra fine more fine

than superfine> Extra fine, ultra fine and superfine, which one is more fine? Well I

think this one looks it, that one I don't know... this has got kind of a green

shimmer, so maybe I'll do this one. What you want, what you're kind of going for,

and there's no exact recipe, just play and experiment... what you're going for is a

mixture of different chunkinesses of glitter, so to speak.

So that... I'm going to try using this awl to mix... because that's what you have in the

real drusy is a variety of fineness of chunks, you've got these really fine ones

down here and then these big chunks here and that's what makes it interesting to

look at it. I am liking that blue but I definitely need a lot a lot more glitter.

Let's see, what did I have? Oh, the green, yeah, I don't think I need any more blue

and I've got lots of this I think I'll put this in, and like I said before it

doesn't matter how neat and tidy you are there is no way of doing this and not

making a mess, it's just going to make a mess. So you can see how much easier it

is to mix this up in a cup and now it's starting to get chunky but it's still

looking a little liquidy. Remember that when it dries you won't have that cloudy

look, it'll be clear, the dimensional magic dries clear.

So you just taste your stew, so to speak, add a pinch more of this and a

pinch more of that and if you want to you can certainly keep detailed records

so that you can reproduce things. I was a little annoyed with myself because I

remember when I did this about three years ago that I did spend quite a bit

of time testing and experimenting to come up with this and I didn't write

anything down and I was wishing I had because then I would have that to refer

to today. Well that's looking good, that's looking

very interesting and chunky. So this is just a charm that I got recently and

it's not really my thing, it just came in it came in a dollar bead box and I

actually had thrown it away and then I last night I was planning this and then I,

and then I said, oh, I can put something over top of it and use it. See how by

doing it this way it's just so much easier to pile it up.

I'm kind of liking that, very cool.

This stuff dries really hard, in fact I'm not sure what happened here

but it looks like at some point I was trying to chip away at this pink. I don't

know if I just wanted to, maybe I didn't like it and wanted to rescue the bezel. It's

not happening. So make sure that you clean it off

anything you don't want it on long before it's dry, and there, that's pretty

cool. I like that. You know what would be useful here would be like a popsicle stick.

Now this one's pretty deep so what you could do if you didn't want to use so

much of you your glitter mixture to fill a bezel is like fill part of it with

clay. Yeah, a craft stick would be good.

And like I said, you can go back over it afterwards. I'm gonna try to kind of

imitate my big one here, my real one and make an area that's big and chunky and

then have another area that's a little smoother now that's fun. Okay, what a mess!

Now at this point you can decide how much more you want to do, like I said

with this one I'm kind of trying to imitate my real drusy, just in

essence, that I've got this area here with these large flakes. Now that looks

cool, I like that, and then maybe oh, there we go

sprinkle some of the finer stuff just in areas, just like this has just this area

down here... it's going everywhere... and then to finish it off, and I did the same thing

on this one. I don't know if you can tell there are areas with a very fine sparkle

and areas that are chunkier. It's not quite so obvious in this one, here's the

shaker,

so I'm just going to do that down there, if I can,

that worked.

It's like sugar frosting! Well, so you get the idea, and then you just set them

aside to dry and that's all there is to it. It's a lot of fun and a huge mess,

glitter everywhere, you probably will be finding glitter everywhere for months,

but I think it's worth it. Remember that I always have a blog post with a

complete supply list and links to products for you accompanying every

video tutorial. All you have to do to find that for any video is click on the

little link in the upper right of the video, in the lower left at the end or in

the description box. I always have the links in all three places that will

bring you to my blog post. Be sure to subscribe if you haven't already and

take a look at my Patreon page for how you can get rewards and bonus tutorials

3 Keys To Build Your Self-Image - Duration: 28:31.

TERRI: I heard someone say that a believer with no confidence is

like a jumbo jet sitting on the runway with no gas, you're not

going anywhere. Well let's talk about how to boost

your confidence and improve your self-image.

(Music)

TERRI: Hi, I'm Terri Savelle Foy and you're

watching Live Your Dreams. I pray that as

you invest in yourself today, you're captivated

and you're catapulted to live your dreams. Have you

ever noticed that some people just seem to attract success,

they attract opportunities and wealth and connections, they

seem to just have this certain level of confidence about them

and it seems like they've never struggled with insecurity, they

just attract blessings? Well you may have heard of the law of

attraction. The law of attraction basically states that

your mind is like a magnet, that whatever gets in your mind and

stays there, you will attract it in your life, that like attracts

like, in other words, whatever you are, you draw to you, so

your mind is like a magnet. Now the thing is, this works

negatively and it also works positively so if you're

constantly thinking nobody likes you, you're going to attract

nobody liking you. If you're constantly thinking you will

never have any money, you will attract poverty and lack. If

you're constantly thinking that you're worthless, you will

attract people in your life who treat you like you're worthless.

However, it also works positively. If you're constantly

thinking this is my time to go to the next level, God's

bringing divine opportunities in my life, you're going to attract

divine opportunities. In fact, my dad is known all over the

world for teaching on the favor of God. Well I've heard my dad

preach hundreds of messages on the favor of God, he has it

ingrained in me to declare favor, to expect favor, and to

experience favor. Well because of that, I really do, I declare

it consistently, favor's going before me, opening doors no man

can shut. Well as a result, I experience favor just like that

magnet. In fact, I remember years ago I was getting ready to

minister in London, England, and my daughter and I got to Dallas

Fort Worth Airport, we're checking in, getting ready to

fly to London, and the flight attendant or the lady at the

counter, she weighs my luggage and she says, your luggage is

overweight. I said, imagine that, and then the lady said to

me, you know what, I'm not gonna charge you the overweight price,

I'm just gonna let it go. I turned to my daughter and I

said, that's the favor of God. Well then we got on the plane,

we flew to London, we're checking in our hotel, we're

exhausted, we get to the counter and the guy says to me, today is

your lucky day, I said, what's going on? He said, I just took

hundreds of pounds off of your hotel bill. I said, What? That's

not luck, that's the favor of God. Well, then at the end of

that trip, we preached almost every night all over London,

last day of the trip, I said, Cassidy, let's go sight see

London. So we went outside, we found this guy selling tickets,

and I told him, I said, I need two tickets for the

double-decker bus. Well all of a sudden this sweet man says to

me, you know what, I'm just gonna charge you two child price

tickets, I said I don't know if it's my voice or what but that's

the favor of God. Well it just goes hand in hand with that law

of attraction, that whatever gets in your mind and stays

there, you will attract it in your life, if you expect favor,

you're gonna attract favor. Well Proverbs 23:7 says, "Whatever a

man thinks in his heart, so is he, what you think about, you

bring about. So you can attract success, you can attract the

blessings of God and the favor of God, and it starts with

changing your own self-image. In fact, I just read a quote

recently that said a strong positive self-image is the best

possible preparation for success in life. So your self-image, let

me just define what that is. Your self-image is simply a

portrait that you have of yourself, now I don't carry this

around everywhere but it's a mental portrait that you have of

yourself. In other words, it's the way you see yourself and the

way you think everyone else sees you. And here's the thing, how

you see yourself has everything to do with what you experience

in life. Now I said before, you know that if you see yourself as

worthless, you'll allow people, you'll attract people to treat

you like you're worthless, you'll carry yourself as

worthless, you'll dress worthless, you'll talk

worthless, and Satan knows that so he tries to keep you

suppressed, insecure, feeling inadequate, with your head down,

like you're not worthy of respect, you're not worthy of

the favor of God. In fact, when I went to college, I graduated

from Texas Tech University and I got a degree in French but a

minor in Communication Studies, that's the study of

communication. Well in these classes, we discovered that 93%

of the way you communicate is non-verbally. In other words,

you're communicating constantly without ever opening your mouth.

You communicate more through body language than through

words, isn't that amazing? In fact, your eyes, we discovered

that your eyes communicate more messages than any other part of

the human anatomy. Well when you really think about that, you may

have heard that phrase, if looks could kill. Well you know you

see people you know, you can size somebody up and down,

people sometimes will just raise their eyebrows, that says a lot,

doesn't it? Just the raised eyebrows. Or you know you can

stare at somebody, or we even discovered there's a difference

in a slow wink and a fast wink, the fast wink just says, hey how

are you? The slow wink says something completely different.

So we're communicating all the time, just with our eyes. In

fact, I remember when I was little, sometimes my sister and

I, we would be talking too much in church you know and my mom,

all she had to do was just glance over at us, squint her

eyes at us, and I never was like, mama what's wrong with

your eyes? No I knew that squinting eyes means we are in

trouble and it's not good. Well you communicate all the time

through your eyes, through your gestures, you can communicate,

wavin' real big at somebody, you can point at somebody or you can

point at somebody. You can do thumbs up or peace or okay,

we're communicating all the time with our hands and some of 'em,

you know, we can't talk about but we use our hands to

communicate. In fact, oh my goodness, I remember years ago,

my husband and I, we used to work together at the same office

and we'd ride together to work and things like that. Well one

day, work was over, I jumped in the car, headed home, I walked

in the house and the phone rang. I answered the phone, I said,

hello? And it was my husband, it was Rodney, he said, did you

forget something? I said, I don't think so, he said, like

me? I was like, oh my gosh, my spouse! So I jumped in the car,

drove back to the office, I get there, the parking lot's

completely empty, and there's Rodney, the only person there,

and he's going like this over and over and I wasn't confused,

I wasn't like, Rodney why are dancing? No, I knew this means

it's not good, I'm in trouble. Well we learned so much in those

body language classes, those non-verbal courses, even things

like a tilted head. If somebody's standing in front of

you that I don't know, looks like Matthew McConaughey or

something and your head just starts to tilt, that's a clear

sign of interest, so just keep your head straight. But here's

the deal, a prolonged tilted head is a sign of boredom, so

you learn these things, right? Well one of the things we

discovered were the signs of insecurity. Well poor posture is

a clear sign of insecurity. Covering your face with your

hands, a lot of people, they'll have their face covered, they

just hide behind their hands, avoiding eye contact with

people, maybe your hair covering your face, your body posture

reveals more than you even realize. In fact, I thought it'd

be interesting to share this with you because this was an

amazing study on body language, observing Richard Nixon back

when he was the Vice President and he came up against John F.

Kennedy, both of them running for president. Now listen to

this study. This was September 26 of 1960 and it was the first

presidential debate ever televised. Now what happened was

Nixon, he seriously injured himself, he injured his knee

when he was getting out of the car on the way to the debate,

and although he was in serious pain, he refused to put stage

makeup on to disguise how uncomfortable he was and to

disguise the profuse sweating. Well Nixon apparently, it says

he stood behind the podium with his body leaning awkwardly to

one side, he had his hands behind his back, he appeared,

they said, crooked and off-balance and he stood behind

the podium like this. Well that doesn't inspire confidence in a

future president. Well he squared off with this very

confident John F. Kennedy. Well they said as 70 million viewers

watched this debate, the first one ever on TV, the contrast

between the two was so noticeable, they said Nixon

appeared with his hands hidden behind the podium, perspiring

and clearly uncomfortable like this, Kennedy appeared calm,

cool, and collected, and listen to what they discovered. They

said according to the poll, the radio listeners who only heard

the debate said Nixon won by a landslide. The TV viewers who

could see the debate said Nixon lost by a landslide. Well JFK

went on and won the presidency. And even today, many experts

agree, they say that if Nixon really understood the importance

of body language, he might have paid closer attention to that

image he was projecting onscreen. Well all I'm saying is

your body language is every bit as important as the words you

say. Now the reason I'm bringing this up is because years ago,

the Lord told me three words that I personally had to grab

hold of before I could ever do what I'm doing today. I was out

walking one early morning and I just heard these three words, he

said, lift your head, lift your head. I thought, why, why would

the Lord tell me to lift my head? Then I began to think back

on my college courses on body language and how the body

language of a poor self-image and insecurity was poor posture,

the hair covering the face, the slumped shoulders, the arms

crossed, but the number one sign of defeat is a lowered head, the

number one sign of defeat is a lowered head. Now why would I

have a lowered head? Why would the Lord tell me that? Why would

you perhaps have a lowered head? Well I don't know what you've

been through in your life, I know what I've been through in

my life which caused me to feel ugly, insecure, rejected, not as

good as other people, insignificant, worthless,

exactly what Satan wanted me to feel. Why? So I would never have

the confidence or the courage to do what I'm doing today. As long

as my head was down in shame and guilt and insecurity, I would

never minister on a TV show or a podcast, you kidding me? Well,

what have you been through that's causing you perhaps to

miss out on God's best for your life, his dream for your life?

You know, it could be abuse, physical abuse, sexual abuse, it

could be being verbally attacked, you've been put down

so many times, made fun of, maybe you were abandoned as a

child or cheated on by a spouse, betrayed, rejected, violated by

someone you trusted, you thought you were supposed to trust,

there's so many reasons that we develop that poor self-image,

that lowered head, that poor posture, and I believe God's

trying to get your attention today the way he got mine when

he said, lift your head. Why would the Lord tell me to lift

my head? Again, the number one sign of defeat is a lowered

head. Well then I discovered in Psalm 3:3, it actually says,

"Thou, oh Lord, are a shield for me, you're the glory and the

lifter of my head," God even covered body language in the

Bible, you know what that means? That you should never go a day

of your life with your head held down in shame when Jesus hung on

that cross with his head down just so yours could be

lifted up. I believe God's speaking to you today, it's

time to lift your head, pull your shoulders back

and walk out your destiny, I'll be right back.

TERRI: So we're talking about boosting your

confidence and improving your self-image. One

of the ways that Satan can absolutely destroy

your life and stop the plan of God for your life is by

convincing you to have a poor self-image. You know, you may

have heard this phrase before that you behave in a manner

consistent with how you see yourself. In fact, I heard this

story about this guy named Victor years ago who at 15 years

old, his teacher told him he wouldn't amount to much, that he

should just drop out of school and learn a trade. Well because

he was told he was an idiot, he said he acted like an idiot for

the next 17 years. Then when he was 32 years old, he found out

he had an IQ of 161. Since finding out how smart he is,

he's written books, secured several patents, and become a

very successful businessman and he's chairman of the Mensa

Society, where you have to have an IQ of 140 or higher. Well

like I said, you behave in a manner consistent with how you

see yourself. There are certain reasons that we develop a poor

self-image, it doesn't just show up overnight. There's reasons

that we've developed that lowered head and that negative

self-image. It could be, you know, being talked down to and

made fun of, words that were spoken over you by parents,

teachers, coaches, peers, it could be you were abandoned by

parents or by a spouse, maybe you went through a painful

divorce and that's what's caused you to lower your head and not

feel as good as other people, or abusive situations, physically,

verbally, sexually, emotionally, or experiencing great

devastating rejection. I remember years ago I took this

deep psychological quiz and it said you have a compulsive fear

of rejection. Well that was because of things I'd been

through. Maybe it was unfaithfulness or you were raped

or violated. See, Satan will use whatever situation he can to

instill that poor sense of self worth. Why? Because you will

never have the confidence to live your dreams, to live the

God-given dreams that are on the inside of you. Well you know,

recently I heard a story, Joel Osteen shared this story,

proving how vital it is that you don't allow someone else's words

to dictate your future. Now this was one of Joel's friends, Coach

Dale Brown, who actually coaches the LSU basketball team. And he

said that he was speaking to a group of soldiers at a military

base in California. Well when he finished, he said this young man

came up to him, who stood nearly seven feet tall, 250 pounds, and

he said, Coach Brown, he said, I wanna try out for our basketball

team but I can't dunk the basketball. He said, I can

barely jump, when I run up and down the court, he said, my legs

get so tired, I can only play a few minutes. Well Coach Brown

began to ask him, he said, how long have you been in the

military? He said, oh I'm not in the military, my father is, he

said, I'm 13 years old. He wore a size 17 shoe, by the way. Well

Coach Brown began to take him under his wing and he just said,

when I get back to LSU, he said, I'm gonna send you some of my

training program to help you just strengthen your legs,

increase your endurance, things like that. Well he said three

months later, he got a letter from the young man saying, I've

done everything you told me to do, I've spent hours in the gym,

in the weight room, working out, he said, but my coach just cut

me from the team. He said I'm too big, too slow, too clumsy,

and I'll never be able to play basketball. Well Coach Brown

wrote him back saying, keep working out, keep being your

best, keep asking God to help you. Well he had to make a

decision. Am I going to allow someone else's words spoken over

me determine my destiny, or am I gonna change the internal

dialogue and start believing in myself and my dreams no matter

what other people have said? Well, he decided to believe in

himself and go for his dreams and today that man, Shaquille

O'Neal, ended up becoming one of the greatest basketball players

that's ever played. Well what would have happened if he had

believed the negative words spoken over him? Well for one

thing, we wouldn't be telling his story today. Well I just

wanna share with you real quick three keys to help you get

started on the path of lifting your head and these are things

the Lord dealt with me about. Number one is know your enemy.

And you might say, Terri, I know who the enemy is, it's that

ex-husband or that ex-wife who cheated on me. Or it was that

teacher who embarrassed me, that parent who rejected me. Well you

know, General Douglas MacArthur, he made this statement, he said

the number one rule of warfare is know your enemy. You better

know who you're fighting. Well the Bible actually says we

wrestle not against flesh and blood or it says we wrestle not

against flesh and blood but against principalities and

powers and rulers of darkness. In other words, that person is

not your enemy, the devil is. He's the thief, the Bible tells

us, he's the one who's out to kill, steal, and absolutely

destroy your life. In fact, I remember somebody illustrating

one time a bull fight, like a matador, when a bull fight is

going on, that matador has that red cloth, they dangle it in

front of that bull, and that angry bull charges after the

cloth and the matador raises it to the other side and the crowd

cheers and laughs and he does it all over again, the bull

charges, he throws it to the other side. Well do you know, if

that bull would just wake up and realize, the cloth is not the

enemy, it's the guy holding the cloth, he could annihilate that

matador in one charge, couldn't he? Well I want you to realize

Satan is the one dangling this experience, this person, this

devastating moment in your life, he helps you spend the rest of

your life mad at them instead of targeting your anger towards

him. So you have to, number one, know that Satan is the one out

to destroy your self-image, stop the plan of God for your life,

so he's the enemy. Number two is change your mind, nothing will

change in your life until you begin thinking differently. In

fact, the Bible says in Proverbs, "As a man thinks in

his heart, so is he." So if you see yourself as a loser, you're

gonna act like a loser, if you see yourself as insignificant,

you're gonna act insignificant, if you see yourself as

worthless, crazy, psycho, messed up, all these negative words

that have been spoken over you, then you'll start acting like

that. Well how do you change the way you've thought for 10, 20,

30 years? Well you know the Bible actually says in Romans

Romans 12:2, "It says be transformed by the renewing of

your mind." Well you might even say, well what do you renew your

mind to? The Word of God, that must be settled. See, a poor

self-image, insecurity, low self-esteem, those are all

rooted in fear, it's a fear that you're not good enough, not

smart enough, not pretty enough. Well the opposite of fear is

faith. Well how does faith comes? Faith comes by hearing

the Word of God. Every time you hear the Word, faith comes and

fear goes. So when your mind has come under attack and it happens

to all of us, what you desperately need more than

anything is to hear the truth, the main weapon in mental

warfare is to deliberately feed your mind on God's truth, so

number one, know your enemy, number two is change your mind

and then number three is change your words, you've gotta change

your words. Well how do you change the way you speak? Number

one, stop putting yourself down. Stop letting negative words come

out of your mouth about yourself, why? Because you're

listening and what you repeatedly hear, you will

eventually believe. Number two, start building yourself up and

let me just encourage you with this, it doesn't happen by

accident, it happens intentionally with a strategic

plan and I'm only sharing with you what God began to teach me.

I had to start making declarations to speak over

myself consistently and you might say, well, I don't know

what declarations to speak, well I did the work for you. In fact,

with our offer this week, I put together a special cling for you

to put on your mirror so every single day before you even head

out the door, you make these declarations. Now imagine saying

things like I declare in Jesus' name, I'm valuable to God, I'm

chosen by God, I'm confident, I'm fearless, I'm courageous,

I'm beautiful inside and out, I'm healthy, I respect myself

and I'm respected by others. I'm full of energy, I'm disciplined,

spirit, soul, and body. I'm secure in who I am and how I

look. Imagine saying those things every day as just part of

your routine before you run out the door. Just like brushing

teeth where you say I am determined, I am doing this

every day. And I put five scriptures on here for you to

speak out of your mouth consistently because there's

nothing more powerful than speaking God's Word out of your

mouth. You know, low self-esteem, it isn't something

that just shows up overnight, well neither is renewing the

mind. It's developed over time and I remember at the lowest

point in my life, I heard this statement, God will change your

circumstances, but he'll change you first. And that's when I

began the journey of investing in myself to see change, that's

why I'm excited about our offer this week, your self-image

affects your destiny, these are the very things, the seven

pillars the Lord began to teach me to improve my self-image so I

could be doing what I'm doing today. See, if you don't want

the next five years to be like the last five years, then just

embrace the change that needs to be made, just say, you know

what, I can do this, I'm worth the investment. And then, I

don't know what you've been through, if you've been abused

and never told anyone, maybe you were wounded, rejected,

abandoned, violated, maybe you're just so consumed over the

guilt from your past but God is telling you today, in fact one

of my favorite scriptures is he says I have chosen you and have

not cast you away, that means no matter what you've done or

what's been done to you, God's still telling you, I've chosen

you and I have not cast you away. But he needs you to be

confident to fulfill his plan for your life, so I want you to

get this, your self-image affects your destiny with this

special bonus teaching on 10 tips to build your body image

and your self-image and then this cling to put on your mirror

and just set a goal, when these arrive, say I'm gonna make

myself listen to these messages every day for 21 days and for 21

days make these declarations out of your mouth. I believe you are

gonna see transformation take place from the inside out.

Remember, God will change your circumstances but he'll change

you first and like I said, I only know how to speak from

experience and I believe God's speaking to you those same three

words that he said to me, lift your head, don't go another day

of your life with your head held down in shame when Jesus hung on

that cross with his head down so yours could be lifted up. It's

time to get moving. Why? Because you have an assignment, God

needs you. So pull your shoulders back, hold your head

up, lift your head and start living your dreams, don't

look at the years you've lost, let's look at all

the years you've got left and start living

your dreams, thank you so much for watching.

UCLA - Story of WON'T GET FOOLED AGAIN // THE WHO - Duration: 2:35.

No...

No...

No no !

It's not just the Theme song of CSI TV Show!

It's mostly the Who

With ...

Back in 71. And it's on the album "Who's next"

Pete Townshend wanted to write a 2nd rock opera

except that the project canopy

and push the guitarist on the verge of suicide.

Fortunately, 9 songs will be recycled in this album.

The song means:

Why ?

Because it's the story of a revolution which ended in putsch ...

But whose new regime looks exactly like the old one.

The song, so it's sound sarcastic

It sends a disillusioned message ...

to politics and nation.

Oh yes, because if there is a revolution, it is rather in the use of the synth

in a hard rock title.

And that, it's going to influence more than one dude!

On the cover ...

We see the musicians who are putting back their fly

after urinating on a concrete monolith.

There are someone who have been unable to piss during the photo session.

So, we had to use rainwater.

[* Of the rain water, water from the haaaut *]

The group discovered this monolith in a mining coming back from a concert

in Thunderland.

It's also a reference to the movie "2001:The Space Odyssey".

... of course ...

released 3 years before!

Hou hop hop ... Stop everything!

There was another pouch project!

Drummer Keith Moon ... with lingerie and whip.

Project surprisingly not selected...

5 years after the release of the track,

the Who receive the title of the concert played the strongest in the world!

6 dB above the threshold of pain!

A record they still have kept for 10 years.

Concert during which Pete will popularize the "Wind Mill"

The Who also launched the fashion of the rampage of hotel room.

But this...

It was far before AirBnB ...

Who's who?

But euuh ... Did not you follow ?!

The Who ... It's the Who!

The Who = Who

No, not the wookiees of "Star Wars"! No...

The Who, what!

Who-what, no more ... No ...

The Who

I think we have to deal with people who pissed on a monolith

Whooo, I'm scared!

The Avengers — Defining an Act - Duration: 14:44.

Hi, I'm Michael.

This is Lessons from the Screenplay.

A couple months ago, while promoting his new Netflix show, Mindhunter,

director David Fincher made a comment about the limitations of the Marvel superhero films,

and the potential of new platforms like Netflix.

"Look, there's a very large talent pool of people who

don't feel there's much for them in terms of sustenance working for Marvel.

And I think that if we can make a playground for them

that is thoughtful, adult, interesting, complex, challenging…

there's a chance at something that isn't lassoed and hogtied by three acts."

This last part of his comment has stuck with me.

I've been thinking about it a lot.

In fact, it's become a kind of obsession.

It's led me to revisit screenwriting books,

re-read some Shakespeare,

and re-watch every movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

All in search of an answer to a question:

What is the most useful way for a writer to think about act structure?

I want to bring you along on the journey I took to find the answer in two videos…

starting by figuring out what an act even is.

So today I want to use "The Avengers,"

a well-known and well-structured film,

to explain the details of conventional three-act structure.

...To explore its history, as well as its classical alternative, five-act structure.

And share a new way I've decided to think about the acts in a story.

Let's take a look at "The Avengers."

The idea of a formal three-act structure for a screenplay

was popularized in Hollywood by Syd Field,

when he described it in his 1979 book, "Screenplay."

According to him, it looks likes this.

Three acts, two plot points.

Act One should make up the first twenty-five percent of a script,

providing all the set up for the story.

So let's see if this is true for "The Avengers."

In the film, the first half of Act One shows Loki's arrival and reveals his evil plan.

The second half of Act One is all about S.H.I.E.L.D.

recruiting our heroes to join the fight against Loki…

"Security breach!"

…and raising concerns about bringing them together, thus setting up the story.

At the end of Act One comes the First Plot Point,

during which the protagonist makes a difficult choice and enters a new world.

Because there are so many characters in "The Avengers,"

this moment plays a bit differently than in most scripts.

Iron Man commits off-screen, and Thor joins up later.

Nonetheless, this is where we see Captain America and Bruce Banner

commit to helping S.H.I.E.L.D.

The Helicarrier lifts them up into Act Two,

exactly 25% of the way through the film's run time.

As a side note, act breaks are often—but not always—accompanied by a change in location.

The middle 50% of a script forms the second act,

where the protagonist struggles to achieve their new goal.

Since 1979, this section has somewhat evolved.

It's now common to include a midpoint—

a big turn that comes exactly half way through the screenplay.

This midpoint splits the second act into two halves,

often referred to as "2A" and "2B."

In "The Avengers," the first half of Act Two is all about our heroes

trying to stop Loki's plan while struggling to trust each other.

At the midpoint—almost exactly half-way through the film—

our heroes learn that S.H.I.E.L.D. has been keeping secrets from them.

During this apex of tension, Loki's men attack,

and the momentum of the story swings in a new direction.

The second half of Act Two is about our heroes failing to stop Loki,

taking losses and ending up scattered.

This leads to the Second Plot Point.

A moment of crisis, which forces the protagonist to make another big choice.

Our heroes realize what's at stake, put aside their differences,

and come up with a plan to stop Loki once and for all.

They gear up and fly off into Act Three.

In Act Three, the protagonist knows what they need to do,

but must overcome their weaknesses to do so.

In learning to work together and by defeating Loki,

our heroes become The Avengers.

The rest of Act Three is about resolution and tying up loose ends.

This is the three-act model that has formed the foundation

of what we consider "proper" screenplay structure for almost forty years.

So what's the problem with this "paradigm" three-act structure?

Well, it's a bit vague when it comes to the second act.

Acts one and three have specific functions that are understood intuitively:

set-up the story and resolve the story.

But Act Two, the bulk of the narrative, is pretty bare.

And even with the midpoint, there are only three turning points put forth in this model.

A lot happens in "The Avengers"—this doesn't really seem to cover it all.

So what are the alternatives to three-act structure?

The most commonly discussed model, famously found in Shakespearean plays,

is the five-act structure.

In 1863, German novelist Gustav Freytag published his book "Technique of the Drama,"

and introduced "Freytag's Pyramid."

He had analyzed classic Elizabethan drama,

and declared there were five stages in every tragedy.

Let's go through these five stages and see how they align perfectly with "The Avengers."

The first stage, Exposition,

is all about setting up the world, the conflicts already in place,

and the protagonist.

As we've already discussed, this is the first 25% of "The Avengers,"

where we learn about Loki's plan and meet our heroes as they are pulled into the drama.

During the second stage, Complications,

tension mounts and momentum builds as the intricacies of the drama are established.

Now assembled, our heroes go to work tracking Loki.

They find him, confront him, and capture him.

Along the way, Iron Man and Thor make their entrances,

and we see the beginnings of conflict between our heroes.

They are not good at playing nice with each other.

The third stage is The Climax.

This may seem like a strange name,

because we usually refer to the final showdown in a story as the climax.

But I feel this conveys the appropriate amount of weight this section should have.

Freytag wrote of this middle stage:

"The development of conflict reaches its high point,

the Hero stands at the crossroads, leading to victory or defeat, crashing or soaring."

In "The Avengers," this third stage begins once Loki is on board the ship.

The conflict between our heroes that was hinted at in the second stage reaches its highest point.

Everything we've seen so far has been building to this...

and at this very moment, the antagonists attack.

(explosion)

This section ends in defeat.

The fourth stage, Falling Action, is all about reversals,

as the protagonists reacts to the consequences of the climax.

Our heroes, now having tasted defeat,

are no longer bickering about their differences.

They reverse their behavior,

and commit to working together to destroy their common enemy.

By the end of this stage, they become The Avengers,

conveyed in a single, now-iconic shot.

Finally, in the fifth stage, Catastrophe,

the conflict is resolved, either through the downfall of the hero if it's a tragedy,

or through victory and change.

In "The Avengers," this stage begins immediately following the iconic shot, as Loki commands:

Loki: "Send the rest."

Our heroes have changed for the better and become a team,

but now they're about to be truly tested.

The Avengers fight and sacrifice and win the day.

And get schawarma.

These are the five stages of Freytag's Pyramid,

which form the basis of a classical five-act structure.

So what are the major differences between a five-act structure and a three-act structure?

As it turns out, if we take Freytag's Pyramid

and place it on top of Syd Field's three-act paradigm, it fits quite nicely.

As John York writes in his book, "Into the Woods: A Five-Act Journey Into Story"…

"It's important to underline that a five-act structure

isn't really different to a three-act structure,

merely a detailed refinement of it…

Simply put, five acts are generated by inserting two further act breaks

in the second act of the traditional 'Hollywood' paradigm.

The first and last acts remain identical in both forms."

So using a classic five-act structure satisfies the demands of the three-act paradigm,

while also providing a more detailed take on the middle section of a story.

But if we compare these two structures as we just applied them to "The Avengers,"

we see that they don't fit exactly as John Yorke described.

The fourth stage where The Avengers reunite

doesn't occur during the "paradigm's" second act, but rather the third.

So why doesn't it line up perfectly with how the screenwriting book said?

Did we put the act breaks in the wrong spot?

Well, maybe.

But more importantly,

does any of this really matter?

Here we arrive at the heart of my obsession,

where I was left pondering how to define an act.

Perhaps the most common criticism of the three-act structure

is that it leads to formulaic stories.

The argument goes:

"won't all movies be the same if they follow this three-act paradigm?"

I think this misses the point of what makes a story good or bad.

To use an analogy, almost all popular songs use a verse-chorus structure…

But we don't love our favorite pop songs just because they're structured

"verse, chorus, verse, chorus, chorus."

We love them because of the content within the verses and chorus,

what is put into the structure.

The same goes for screenwriting.

Knowledge of act structure helps you organize your story,

but it's not a shortcut to quality.

And when a writer has something random happen on a certain page because a book told them to,

instead of it being an organic result of the story events,

that is the misuse of structure that leads to frustrating, formulaic movies.

So can we come up with a definition for an act that is more useful

during the actual writing process?

One that isn't based on placement in a story, but rather function?

Film Crit Hulk, a film critic who writes in all caps and as if he were the Hulk,

released a blog post several years ago railing against three act structure.

In it, he offers a definition:

"THE END OF AN ACT IS A POINT IN THE STORY WHERE A CHARACTER(S) MAKES A CHOICE AND CAN

NO LONGER 'GO BACK.'"

I like that this definition is character-centric,

focusing on a specific action that affects the momentum and direction of a story.

Another similar but more detailed definition is by John Yorke:

"...acts are bound by dramatic desire,

with a turning point spinning the character off

in pursuit of a new goal...

A course of action, defined by one single desire,

will be completed, whether successfully or not."

I think this is a really useful definition,

again because it is based on what is actually happening in your story—

the desire of the protagonist.

But the definition that has helped me the most came from combining the two,

and taking John Yorke's advice when he wrote...

"Sometimes it's easier to think of the structure in question-and-answer form."

So now, I think of an act as the dramatic question it introduces to the story,

persisting until the question is answered

and the protagonist has made a choice that sends them in a new direction.

This was what I was looking for when I began my investigation into act structure.

When you describe an act with a question, it becomes actionable.

It is the writer's job to design a series of events that will answer this question,

force the protagonist to make a choice,

and send them in a new direction.

So now, for the fourth and final act of this video,

let's define the Acts of "The Avengers" using questions and answers.

Act One begins as Loki appears and reveals his evil plan.

The dramatic question posed is:

Will Nick Fury be able to recruit our heroes to help stop Loki?

This is answered when they say yes...

even though we don't see them all commit on-screen.

Captain America and Bruce Banner choose to start searching for Loki,

which brings us to...

Act Two: Can they track Loki down and catch him?

Answer: Yes, but it feels like it was too easy.

Despite disagreement amongst the team about what should be done with Loki,

they choose to bring him back to S.H.I.E.L.D.

Act Three: Now that our heroes are finally united,

will they be able to get along and trust each other?

No.

Distrust leads to failure, and Loki escapes.

Realizing their errors, they finally choose to work together.

Act Four: Will our heroes unite to become The Avengers?

Yep.

By the end of act four they choose to face Loki's impossibly large army together,

in a coordinated effort.

Act Five: Will The Avengers be able to stop Loki's army from destroying New York City?

Yes, through a concerted effort that shows

that this new team is greater than the sum of its parts.

Having grown, the characters choose to go their separate ways,

knowing they will have each others' backs when the time comes.

You can analyze a film and apply any structure if you try hard enough.

Whether it's three-act structure, eight-sequence breakdown, or the Blake Snyder beat sheet,

it's just an intellectual exercise unless it helps you improve your writing.

In the end, all screenwriting books are essentially talking about the same thing,

it's just about finding what clicks with you and makes you a better writer.

But what about that David Fincher quote?

Are Marvel films really "lassoed and hogtied" by three-acts?

What is an example of a film that doesn't follow the "paradigm" structure?

And what happens when we zoom in closer to dissect the anatomy of an act?

I'll examine all of this in my next video,

next week.

I recently used this question and answer method of identifying acts

in a blog post I wrote about The Last Jedi.

Friends had been asking for my thoughts on the movie,

AskProfWolff: Why are CA prisoners used as "voluntary" firefighters? - Duration: 2:22.

This question came to us from Heidi Schultz, she sent it in to the Ask Prof.

Wolff page on the website rdwolff with two Fs dot com, and she asks for my response

to the fact that California uses prisoners from its prison system as

voluntary firefighters, especially these days when big fires have been plaguing

California, north and south, in devastating ways, and she wonders about

the legitimacy, the decency of having prisoners who volunteer, and she puts

that wisely in quotation marks, to save rich people from losing their homes in a

fire, which is often what they've done, and some of them have gotten hurt, and

some of them I believe have also died. Well let me respond to what I think is

the most important aspect here. In every other line of work, if you need special

labor, either on holidays or under emergency situations, you make provision

to engage the labor of people, extra labor beyond what they're normally doing,

and you normally pay those people time and a half or some premium, because

you're intruding on their home life, their personal life, their other

activities. There ought to be provision in our society for fires to be fought by,

what, the same arrangement. There should be people who are made aware that

there's a need from time to time, if you can, let us know, and we the society will

pay the extra, because we're needing you on an extra basis. That's how it's done

in the, quote-unquote, private sector. Why in the world is the public sector not

following suit? You ought to pay people extra for hazardous work, you ought to

pay people extra for work when it isn't part of their regular routine, and using,

quote unquote, volunteer prisoners is simply a way of imposing on them to save

money, that should be and could be taxed, particularly from

those available to pay, especially when the fires are dangerous mostly to the

people rich enough to live in those areas that are threatened.

"I'm in a very good physical condition" | Manuel Neuer at the 1:1 Talk - Duration: 2:35.

Our captain has joined us.

We haven't heard from him,

from Manuel Neuer, in a long time.

Manu, every Bayern fan wants to know: how are you

and how is your foot?

I have to say I'm doing very well.

I think my foot is doing very well too.

I am not experiencing any pain and in my opinion I'm on a very good track forward.

What is your plan for the upcoming weeks?

When do you think we will see you out on the pitch again?

In the upcoming weeks I will improve my postural control

and increase my weight on the AlterG.

Right now I'm on about 80% of my body weight when I'm on the treadmill

and I'm quite satisfied with that.

I spend time on the bike

and conduct other strengthening exercises for the whole body.

My fitness condition is actually very good.

Tell us how difficult such a recovery process is mentally.

How tough is it to be motivated every day but not risk too much at the same time?

We're not taking any risks whatsoever at the moment

and right now it's not difficult at all mentally.

I look forward to coming to Säbener Street every day, to doing my job

and to observing the progress I'm making.

I also look forward to the games.

I visit every home game of ours

and I enjoy watching the progress

the team is currently making.

We have very clear goals and I do think we have been playing a very successful season so far.

Of course we want to know if you have set a specific date

for your comeback,

possibly in March or maybe in April?

Is there a specific date?

There is no specific date.

We have to play it safe now and wait and see how my body handles the next few steps.

But I am very optimistic

and I know I will play in the second half of the season.

You said you enjoy watching the team play. They are indeed very successful

and Sven Ulreich is contributing to this success with very good, consistent performances.

How happy are you for him?

Of course I'm really happy for him.

We have been working so hard and so well together in training for a long time.

You can tell that this work is paying off now.

He's a great goalkeeper and now he has the chance to confirm it.

He is doing an outstanding job for Bayern and for the team.

Manu, thank you for the interview and all the best for your recovery.

Thank you.

He did not use the blinker, he comes to the left and starts to brake, and at last goes back to the middle lane.

In the middle...

"Get that s***** away."

Nice place / position to stand still

I'm going to stop at the traffic lights. I see a car approaching from behind.

Now it's giving lights ...

He is shivering inside the car, he wanted me to pull over so he can pass ... But is red light!

Anyway ....

He will stop but he didn't change the blinker .... I need to guess ...

I can't comment this....

Category: Left lane rush and allergy to the right lane

Free lane ...

One more ... always in the middle ....

He just got in and want to go to the middle lane without blinker or anything.

I'll wait and see if he goes to the right lane...

Even the trucks now overtake him from the right.

Not even so it goes to the right

One more in a hurry to go to the middle ...

Why???

Continuous line....

and left ....

Not even on the exits they can drive on the right ...

There are acceleration lanes to gain speed and avoid "slowing down" the traffic but they insist on not using them ...

Is it that complicated ?!

I'll wait for you to go to the right

I can not take it anymore ....

Everyone on the left ....

He will pass the continuous line ...

Again the rush to go to the middle ....

I do not even move ....

Category: Red means stop??!!

One

Two....

The BUS cross already in the red light..

Another one...

Is it red ??

Category: Random shit!

Continuous line...

Go to the left instead going to the right ...

Then he clog the entire lane that is made for those who follow to the right.

Continuous line...

Make reverse on a continuous line ...

Category: Dangerous Overtaking

A free lane and has to overtake me in my lane ...

He is on front of me. I'll do the same ...

"Didn't you have space?"

These two are in a hurry ... do you know what for? Try to guess ...

Another one!

They stopped here...

They were playing POKEMON !!!

Wait for it ....

A Stylized Bowl From Club Raffle Wood - Duration: 4:50.

Hi, Alan Stratton, from As Wood Turns.

(http://www.AsWoodTurns.com) At the last club meeting, I struck it rich

in the club wood raffle.

I got two pieces of wood.

I believe them to be ash.

This one is heart wood and this one is sap wood.

I need to take them, turn them, and take them back to the meeting.

Let's focus on this bowl.

This one had just a hint of the grain showing in the raw wood block.

It was 5 inches by 3 inches.

I thought about making just a standard bowl shape.

But I thought "how can I maximize the grain appearance and do something just a little

bit different."

So I decided to make a rim that is not just flared out but flared down.

It's a little bit harder to do but I think it has a nice effect.

So, let's turn this small reverse lip bowl.

To start with, I've marked center on one side of the wood.

By pressing the wood against a flat faceplate, I am assured that most of the wobble will

be gone.

I can occasionally increase tail stock pressure to keep it from spinning.

This works great for wood that has near parallel sides.

Now I can start shaping the bottom half.

Once I have it down to the lip portion.

I can start undercutting the lip.

I have in mind a reverse lip but this is fairly difficult.

Because the cut is not comfortable for me using a gouge, I'm switching to the round

nose scraper.

Now I don't have to worry so much about catching the opposite wing of the gouge as

I go into the tight u shape of the lip.

I love using a gouge and how fast I can remove wood with one.

But I don't mind a scraper when I need to.

Finally, I cut a small tenon on the tip that I'll use shortly.

Now I'm reversing the wood onto a chuck with small shark jaws with that short tenon.

After a short time shaping the upper outer lip edge, I can start hollowing with my gouge.

The small opening makes it tough to go very deep.

Here again with this narrow opening, it's tough to keep using a gouge.

So now, I'm drilling a hole to my anticipated depth.

Now I'm using my scraper to hollow out the remainder.

It helps to switch sides of the lathe and go around to the other side.

Now is a great time to sand as much as I can.

Then cut a very small groove on the inside of the hollow and touch up the sanding.

Then reverse the wood again into an expansion mount to that groove.

Now I can finish shaping the bottom and form a foot.

I want a small foot with just a little uplift.

After sanding, then sign the bottom.

I'm using my shop-built pyrography gear.

Then finish with walnut oil.

A good soaking does the trick.

It is not a typical bowl profile.

It's harder than a standard bowl shape.

It's not a beginner bowl.

But, well worth it.

That's all for this small bowl.

Please give this video a thumbs up, subscribe on my website and tell your friends.

Please wear your full face shield – you'll thank me later or cuss yourself for not wearing

it.

I am Alan Stratton from As Wood Turns dot com.

Come back next week for a new woodturning video.

2018 Flu Season: Why This Year's Flu Is So Bad - Duration: 3:53.

Welcome to Dr. David Eifrig's Health & Wealth Bulletin.

This is Weekly Update.

Right now, we're in the midst of one of the worst flu seasons on record.

In fact, about 31.5 cases out of every 100,000 hospitalizations are because of the flu.

That's one of the highest numbers that we've seen.

Unfortunately, we still have about 11 to 13 weeks left, meaning that this flu season can

get even worse.

Already, we have 30 children who have died of the flu in the U.S. and the number of adults

is still untold.

We won't really know until the end of flu season.

Now the reason the flu is so dangerous is because of how quickly it mutates.

So the flu virus comes in one of three types.

There's type A, type B, and type C. Type A is the most dangerous – that's the one that's

responsible for so many epidemics like we're seeing right now.

So that's the kind we're going to focus on today.

Now the flu virus gets its name from two proteins on the outer shell of its envelope.

There's the H protein and the N protein.

The H protein, hemagglutinin, comes in 18 different types.

The N protein, neuraminidase, comes in 11 different types.

Now these two proteins are important because they both help determine how infectious the

flu is and how quickly it can spread once it's inside your body.

The combinations of these two are why we get different strains like H1N1 or H3N2, which

is what we're seeing right now.

Now H3N2 is one of the most dangerous types out there because of how quickly it spreads

and how many complications it can bring.

Now this might also be why we're seeing such low effective rates for the vaccine.

Here in the U.S. they're estimating about a 30% effectiveness, but in places like Australia,

it's only about 10% effective.

Now, one thing to keep in mind is: don't let this dissuade you from really getting your

flu shot every year.

In fact, one study out of the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences demonstrated

that getting your flu shot actually lessens the severity of your symptoms.

They looked at a group of folks who had the flu, about 72% of whom were vaccinated.

Those who'd been vaccinated had a far lower chance of having a fever, they had fewer upper

respiratory problems, and overall their symptoms were far less severe.

This is very important because we want to make sure we get as much protection as we

can, even if we do get the flu.

Another point to keep in mind here is that about 80 to 85% of all children every year

who die from the flu were unvaccinated, so it's especially critical to get your flu shot

if you're a child, if you're an adult over 65, or if you're someone with a compromised

immune system because you certainly need that help fighting off the flu.

So if you're having symptoms of the flu, it's important to know if you have the flu or simply

another cold.

Remember, the cold is also a virus, so it's very similar in the way it presents.

In fact, both colds and flu give you a cough, sore throat, runny nose, body aches, headaches,

fatigue, sometimes even fever.

But it's important to remember that colds usually come with a stuffy and a runny nose

and they come over a period of time – you can feel yourself getting sick.

With the flu, the key is a very rapid onset of symptoms.

If this is the case for you, you certainly want to go to your doctor and talk to them,

especially if you're in one of these immune compromised groups.

If that's the case, your doctor may recommend antiviral medications.

These are special medicines designed to fight the flu but they're only really effective

if given within the first 48 hours.

That's why keeping an eye on your symptoms and getting help immediately is really important.

That's it for now.

Keep your questions and comments coming to our feedback line.

Don't forget to like, share, and subscribe, and we'll see you next week.

Markus talks about the Dan Sullivan Question - Duration: 4:59.

Today we are going to talk about one of the most important question -

that you can ask yourself.

Stay tuned.

So as you can see I am traveling again.

Yes.

Right now I am in Florida.

I just love and enjoy traveling.

Be in different places. Talk to lots of people.

And this weekend, I will spend here in Florida.

So today we're going to talk about an important question.

Now this is inspired by a discussion that I had with my friend Rob yesterday.

So yesterday we talked about the Dan Sullivan question, and what does this mean.

Here's the question.

And I want to read it to you because it is so important.

And I want to make sure that I'm not screwing it up.

The question for you is: "If we were having this discussion 3 years from today.

And you were looking back over those 3 years, what has to have happened in your life -

both personally and professionally, for you to feel happy with your progress?"

So again, imagine that we are talking again 3 years from now.

And in 3 years, you're looking back and you're saying -

oh my gosh, the last 3 years have been amazing!

Markus, let me tell you what happened.

What exactly would have to have happened in the last 3 years so that you would say -

wow, I'm living a great life.

Where would you live?

With whom would you spend your time?

What would you have to changed personally?

I mean, I don't know.

Maybe it is a fitness goal that you have.

Maybe it's a monetary goal.

What toys would you have bought?

If in three years we meet again -

you would say: oh my gosh my life is just amazing.

What would have to have happened professionally?

Are you still doing the job that you're doing today?

Or have you quit your job and have found a different source of income?

Maybe trading, as you know.

I love trading.

Now as you can see, it is an extremely loaded question.

When you ask yourself this question and start writing things down.

I mean for me, it happened that I was writing for 30 minutes straight.

And I talked to Rob and he said oh my gosh.

I wrote and scribbled notes, all over the place.

And so this is what we like to do, compare notes.

So this is what I want to challenge you to think about.

If we were having this discussion 3 years from now, what would that have to have happened -

in these 3 years that you say, oh my gosh my life is amazing.

Where would you have traveled?

What kind of house do you live in?

What houses do you have, what kind of car are you driving?

How are you spending your day right now?

What kind of friends you have?

Right?

What skill might you have acquired in the last 3 years -

so that you say, oh my gosh this has been amazing.

What experiences would you have acquired or what would you have done?

Right?

Where would you have traveled?

I mean there's so many things that you can imagine of what could happen in 3 years.

Now what is very important that you use that 3 years as a time frame.

Because here's why.

If you just set yourself a year, you're under estimating what you can complete within a year.

But in 3 years, just think about it.

How would your life look like if we had this discussion 3 years from now -

and you were telling me about your life.

What has have to have happened, both personally and professionally -

that you say this was a full success.

Take a notepad, write it down. And if you want, feel free to share it with me.

Share right here in the comments if you want to declare it publicly to the world.

If you don't want to, just send me a message.

That's fine too if you want to share with me.

Or if you just want to have it for yourself.

Write it down and put it in a drawer.

And you will be amazed how much of this might come through in the next few years.

Alright.

Hope you like this. If you do, please...

Hit "Like", leave a "Comment".

And if you have a friend who needs to hear this message -

"Share" this video with him.

And I will talk to you next time.
