Classical Musicians React: TWICE 'Wow' vs 'Eye Eye Eyes' - Duration: 15:44.

Jarod: This is cool [sings bass line]

Katie: I like... are those fifths?

Umu: First we'll be reacting to a girl group called twice and they debuted in 2015 under JYP entertainment

And they're actually currently one of Korea's most popular girl groups. The very first song that we'll be reacting to was released in 2017

And as you can see on your screen, it is a fan-made lyric video for this b-side track. It was released on their

twice-a- gram album get it? cause instagram but

Twice? --- a gram??

katie: insta- *siiiiigh*

[weird laugh] this was composed by Pop Time and Kriz Lindsey: let's make a "W" Davis: sure put your mouth-

Umu: oh wow [lol] lindsey: did you get it Umu: i got it

Isaac: Wow

Olivia: sounds like the peanuts

Charlotte: i know i know Peyton: [sings along]

oh oh charlie brown charlie brown

Davis: ohhhh Lindsey: whattttt

Davis: that's really cool Lindsey: woah the beat is so cool

Davis: yeah yeah Lidnsey: it like started out very downbeat oriented and then quickly moved away from that

Olivia: they have Sax(ophone) in there now

people dont use Sax(ophone) enough, i like it

Davis: I like the different keyboard sounds (Lindsey: now we're moving) they're using they've already used so many different sounds

Olivia: ohhh that little piano part Aaron: that piano solo

Jarod: This is so like flirtatious and just very cute Katie: this is the definition of swanky

Katie: oh my god

Peyton: This is like got a weird like pop feel on like a boogie woogie, jazz Charlotte: yeah, funk

Peyton: yeah there's a funk thing into it

Jarod: ohhhh the syncopation though man! syn-co-pation

Kevin: wow manga reference

Kevin: that Sax is a real sax Olivia: I think

Olivia: I think if they thickened up the texture it would've been better

It's pretty thin right now, which is not necessarily a problem, but I think if it was a little thicker of a texture, it would be

nice

Kevin: yeah it's very light, like, even the drop is just like

Fluffy... fluffy drop

[imitating the lower wubwow synth]

Isaac: It's always the slow part Kevin: 2 -5 -1

Kevin: alright, a little minor

A little flat three mixture, not bad

Peyton: [sings and counts along]

Oh, yeah!

space is important people

Charlotte: stop time stop time yes uh

lindsey: [snaps] Davis: oh yeah get the snaps in there

cause you're going there one more time gotta

make it more interesting. It's probably almost over Lindsey: some harmonies yeah

Davis: oh yep there you go

LIndsey: oh wow that was really impressive

oh yeah that like really just ended

Charlotte: that was so cute Umu: yeah what'd you think about that song Charlotte: that was so cute

Very funk Peyton: they put a pop swing on it too like you still, you still felt like it was a pop song

But like not, I guess it was i don't know

It's kind of hard to put my finger on it because there are a lot of layers to it

You know? they have obviously there was a real pianist behind that like one like [sings]

And like just cause like you can't really get a midi thing just like make you feel like that, you know, cuz it'll just go

Yeah, they had a lot of really cool sounds in it and also there's like this one like moment was like [sings]

And then like i just thought that was like the coolest thing in the world

Just like you know it just stops and it's just like swinging like super hard for about 30 seconds

KEvin: so well mixed it's light and light. not a radio hit because it doesn't have that bass and the

over-the-top production for radio, but I like it a

Lot more than some of their hits Isaac: I thought it was like texture-wise, very bubbly

where just like the inflictions are very like they're going upwards

whoop Kevin: yeah

out of context if like I didn't know twice and I heard this song I'd still be like wow, this is really different because

It's a very interesting

synthesis of

synths

An acoustic instruments, that was not intentional. Um, it sounds kind of, it sounds organic

It doesn't sound very heavily produced. It's doesn't sound very digital and it's nice

It's light! nice light songs are needed

Most of the chords are normal

but then you get those little weird chords like a flat 3 in there and then the part where it's like

Oh We're gonna do F

And you're gonna think we're gonna go to B flat but we're not going to I think the bridge is just all over the place

But I liked it.

me Likey

Jarod: it was fun it was very fun to listen to because it's like it was like very blues inspired not necessarily following the strict blues form

But there's definitely some like some blue notes as you could call them Katie: ohhh blue notes

Katie: blue notes, I want to be a Blue Note for Halloween that would be---- Jarod: You want to be the Blue Note?

Katie: Flat three Olivia: bassline had its moments where it was pretty

Flat and then had like maybe two or three measures where they would throw in a little spice

Aaron: I mean, it wasn't simple but it was say--- we were going back into the the chorus or something and it wasn't suddenly like Oh

JK we're gonna do like a six or like a Picardy third or like surprise us or something. It was very like predictable

Oliva: I wish they did more with the instruments they added. Aaron: Yeah

Aaron: if they had a sax solo in there Olivia: tbh they added Sax but they didn't really use it a whole lot

they could have used it way more and they could have used it in a more interesting way Aaron: and the melody wasn't exactly the most

Interesting

Because like I you know like I saw a like through the video that every time like each different girl was singing

Like her picture lit up and they all kind of like sang the same

Melody it's the same melody yeah Davis: that one should it has the like surface-level to me

it was like oh this sounds like a really simple just like a little catchy tune, but

Lidnsey: that was so much Davis: Don't take it for granted. I think that was a lot like death and layers to that that can

Davis: Maybe be its own like enemy and make it like so that you just tune it out

it's just like a wash of sound but if you'd actually like listen and pick apart the different instruments and sit like

Keyboard sounds they were making and like all the different

percussion

Style changes that they were making Lidnsey: so many

Davis: Yeah, you can it adds it like it stacks up...the lyrics were weird. Lindsey: I wanted there to be like heavier drums and bass and stuff

yeah, especially towards some of the beginning parts but it just felt like so catchy and it like

I'm so glad that they didn't do it though because it like added tension

It was like it added tension and then when the like when it didn't pick up I was like yeah

This is what I wanted. But like I think it worked Umu: so the next one called

Eye eye eyes was also released in 2017 on their album called signal. This was composed by Katie: Lise Kristin Kvenseth,

Katie: Erlend Elvesveen

Jo Svarre Sande, Tone Ravna Bjornstad, Rune Helmersen, and Elizaveta Vassilieva

Umu: and then two of the twice members

Jihyo and Chaeyoung wrote the lyrics. Kevin: Alrighty

Kevin: TWICE, tell me What is Love with your Eye Eye Eyes

Peyton: wow Charlotte: what

Kevin: This is a lot

Aaron: i feel like it modulated to the dominant Olivia: We went to a completely different song and I'm really confused

:O What?

Jarod: this is cool [sings]

Katie: i like---- are those fifths?

lindsey: woo!

Davis: was what that...like a shimmering... that was weird

Peyton: ohhh flat seven

Charlotte: it's a very floaty voice Peyton: Yeah

Olivia They're really changing it up there's like Aaron: I like that, wow that was very jazzy. I don't know. there must been like some flat 6 in there or some sh*t

Lindsey: i think it started on a pickup cause it's like 1,2,3,4,5 pause 6, 7,8,9

Lindsey: i'm also uninterested in men

Davis: same

Lindsey: I think puberty came late to me Davis: not same

Lidnsey: oh my god these lyrics are so cute

Peyton: Just like a tambourine sound back there Charlotte: I'm so confused

Charlotte: Like what is this modal mixture what is happening?

Olivia: each verse is completely different Aaron: they're really different

Olivia: they're really different it's like completely different in terms of bassline

and just like, yeah aaron: even like octaves of the bass line

CHarlotte: What Peyton: this is like a tran- it's like over a pedal

oh

uhhh

Kevin: They still keep it fresh they keep it instrumentally fresh too in slow sections so [click] , you know it's like sonata form

There's always a development

Kevin: [sings along] fast swing

Katie: "your heart is ice and i'll melt you"

you'd fit right in with Rochester. Sorry, it's currently

April 16th

and still snowing.

Jarod: I like how the beat kinda follows the melody, you know pretty sick

KEvin: i like the Dominant seventh thing

it's pretty awesome

Kevin: it ends on the dominant seventh of course

Olivia: i've ben bamboozled! my ears have been

bamboozled

I definitely would have to listen to it multiple times to be like alright, I kind of grasp what's going on. Aaron: They stretch out like

The melody, I guess. Yeah with like

prolonging

Dominant Olivia: sections are like different styles. Completely different styles.

Aaron: and then you got like some in between the sections like you

Got some jazz chords of some kind that I thought was interesting

Kevin: It's great. I like both of these

Isaac: Both very soft in texture. So this is nice to just relax and just listen to it

But this one particularly. It's like it's a nice track. Like the bassline is very interesting the vocal line..

I don't know for some reason. I think it's like nine people

Kind of just takes away the whole

For me if I can't really pin down like what their sound is like.

I feel like for me it's a little bit more difficult to manage

nine people cause like, some people I want to hear more some people I'm just like

Kevin: I think we got to see music video with them in action like TT because I think it's very well balanced

I really like the way their voices are distributed, but but it's true. Like I don't know it's who's singing what in these?

Isaac: Well, they show it (Kevin: Ik they show it) but--- it's a bit confusing sometimes but it's still really good for a b-side song

Kevin: But this one got the you know, the fast swinging like [sings] which is really catchy

But then every section kind of switches up the beat like both these songs like every section feels like it's distinct little world

And I like it. It's like traveling. you're traveling through places in this song kind like cheer up cheer up

has that a little bit of that but it's much more mainstream and it's not as

It doesn't pop out as much as this

Katie: I think that their songs don't have a lot of harmonic substance

but they're really fun to listen to and bouncy and fun and something you would jam out like we just did but I don't

Think it's the most musically interesting thing. jarod: Ooh, I disagreeeeeeee

J: WOAAHHHHHHH K: DUDUUDUDUDUDUDU

fight fight fight

Jarod: what I thought this did a really good job of is the beat kinda follows the melody. cuz often times

you catch some k-pop songs where it's like, a consistent beat throughout the melody changes

But it's just the same kind of like, you know

You could just picture them on their audio software. Just copy paste copy paste copy paste

whereas like this is like it's a little bit more interactive and it's like I felt like maybe the

Harmonically they didn't smack you all at once but I felt like you can hear like spelling different things individual notes

if that make sense? So it's not like some of the stuff or it's like boom

Here's a big fat chord all at once

it was like

interlace kind of like like a cute little line because I think that

The aesthetic that this group was going for is obviously very cute

Very like playful child esque, you know

The little chimes that they use like the the the tes- the tessitura the type of the color of their voices

Very lends itself to that kind of- (katie: colour) the colour lends itself to being very, um, very like young, you know

And that's what I feel like the vibe they are going for so it's like a little bit more minimalistic-ish

But not minimal not true minimalism. Peyton: they really used that tritone there though

flat seven to the three Charlotte: I think my favorite part was when we went into

to halftime. that feel was really nice and how they just both

I mean it was everything like normally what I expected but it was so nice

I'm very confused in the whole counting section whenever that keeps coming back with what they're playing with there

like I definitely want to say a major key, but like there's some moments where I'm like nopeeee

Peyton: Harmonically I thought they just kinda it was just like kind of broken up into like sections like I thought it was a major but just

Cuz like all the like the biggest moments and the longest stretches charlotte: and the choruses were all major

Yeah, and it ends in major so it's like there's enough major evidence to be like ha! major Charlotte: Yeah

Yeah

the one section that was pretty confusing was just like I'm like like they were just kind of like doing the upper extensions over a pedal

you know and then it usually makes everyone go like [EEAAA!!!!??]

Charlotte: like I did

How to Get Instagram Followers: 10 Tips to Grow Your Reach [Oberlo Weekly Q&A] - Duration: 5:58.

Hey everyone!

My name's David and it's that time of week when we take a closer look at some of

the questions you all have left in the comments of our YouTube channel.

This week's question is: "How do I get more followers on Instagram?"

This is a great question.

Instagram is extremely important for ecommerce businesses, in part because Instagram users

seem more willing to engage companies on Instagram.

More than two-thirds of Instagram users regularly engage with brands, which is more than twice

as much as Facebook.

Of course, there's a lot of noise out there, and it trying to get noticed can, at times,

drive you crazy.

So, in this video, we're going to share 10 powerful ways to stand out, and get more

instagram followers.

Number 1: Make sure your profile is consistent.

What does this mean?

Well, before people follow you, they want to know what to expect from your account in

the future.

So consistency is key.

First, make sure that your posts are relevant for your niche.

For example, if you sell sports equipment, you'll want to post photos of sporty things,

like people working out, and motivational quotes.

Secondly, make sure your photos are stylistically similar.

Ideally, you want to develop your own identity.

But, if you're just getting started, the best thing to do, is choose a filter, and

stick to it.

This will help people identify your account as it passes by in their feed.

Number 2: Hashtag like crazy Statistically, images with 11 or more hashtags

perform the best.

You want a hashtag that's popular, but not over saturated, so that your image still has

a chance of getting noticed.

Search for accounts similar to yours to find great hashtags.

Or, download a hashtag app like Focalmark.

With this app, you can input the content of the photo you're posting and the app will

generate useful hashtags around that topic.

Still, a caption full of hashtags can look messy.

So, it's best to share your post, and then paste your hashtags in the post's comments.

Number 3: Get as much engagement on it as possible, as quickly as possible.

The more engagement your post gets, the more likely it is that instagram's algorithm

will share it.

Ideally, you want to reach the top 9 photos for one of your hashtags.

Why nine?

Well, every hashtag has 9 posts at the top of the hashtag feed.

These are the most popular posts for that hashtag, at that moment.

And, if you can get your photo into one of those top positions, it's going to be seen

by a lot more people.

A quick way to boost engagement, is to reply to as many of the comments on your post as

possible.

Simply, when you reply to every comment, you double the amount of comments on your photo!

Number 4: Tag your post's location.

Why?

Because posts with a location get 79% more engagement.

Also, people browsing posts in your location might come across your post and decide to

follow you.

Number 5: Post often.

Ideally, you'll want to post AT LEAST a couple times a day.

Data suggests that there isn't really a limit on how often you should post on Instagram.

So, it's better to post as much as you can, while maintaining quality.

However often you post, just be sure to keep your posting schedule consistent.

Also, you can use analytics to find the best times of day to post your photos for maximum

engagement.

You can do this by using the insights that come with Instagram.

Or, if you don't have a pro or business account, you can use an app like Prime to

analyze your account.

Number 6: Try to have an active Instagram story at all times.

Stories appear on the Instagram explore page, and in the stories for different locations

and hashtags.

So, people who don't follow you can still find and watch your stories.

And, if they like what they see, that might be your newest follower.

To get your story to appear in a public feed, just remember to add hashtags and a location.

Also, stories are particularly great for getting new followers during events, like a concert,

national holiday, or sporting event.

Because that's when peple are more invested in keeping up with what's happening in real

time.

Number 7: Create good captions Is your business witty?

Inspirational?

Practical?

Fill your captions with personality!

Another way to increase engagement, is to ask your followers questions, or have some

sort of call-to-action in your captions.

You might say, "share your thoughts in the comments!" or "What do you think?"

Groundbreaking?

No.

But might be enough to get someone to engage.

Number 8: Engage with other people in your niche.

Find other accounts who post pictures that are relevant to your store, then follow them

and interact with their content.

It's the most natural way to draw attention to your own account.

Also, try to only follow and interact with other accounts in your niche.

This is because Instagram's algorithm will lump associate your account in with those

other accounts.

Then, when someone follows a similar account to you, Instagram might show your account

in the related accounts to follow.

So, if you want to follow your family and friends as well, it's best to setup a separate

personal account.

Number 9: Promote your Instagram account on other channels

Sure, you can optimize your account and try to hack the Instagram algorithm, but it might

be easier to promote your account on other platforms.

Be sure to share your Instagram pictures on your other social media channels and use them

on your blog.

And finally, Number 10: Use paid ads find new Instagram

followers All you need to get started is a Facebook

Ads account.

Then, you simply add your Instagram channel to the account from your Business Manager

page.

Instagram automatically pulls in a "similar audience" to target, or you can create your

own audience in the app.

Just make sure that you set the goal of the ad to "profile visits."

Then, share an Instagram post like normal, and hit the "promote" button.

These promoted posts will appear in your target audience's feed, along with the posts from

the other accounts they follow.

The only difference, besides the fact that you're paying money, is that the post will

have the word "Sponsored" above the image, as well as a call-to-action button below it.

Okay, that brings us to the end of our top tips for getting more Instagram followers.

If you have a question, leave it in the comments below!

I'm checking the comments everyday, and would love to answer your question in the next video.

If you've enjoyed this video, make sure you subscribe for more, and don't forget

to turn on the notification bell.

And until next time, learn often, market better and sell more.

Top 10 Scary Evil Kids - Duration: 7:58.

Hello and welcome back to the Most Amazing Channel on the internet.

I am your host, Rebecca Felgate and today we are talking about the Top 10 Evil Kids.

A lot of people say evil is a learned behaviour, but these kids have me questioning that…they

seem to have been born nasty.

10 – Child of Rage Beth Thomas Beth is known as a Child of Rage…it was

established when she was a child that she was a psychopath.

Now, to be fair to Beth, she was sexually abused as a child, which is likely where her

behavioural issues came from.

None the less, she openly admitted she would stab her parents.

She was adopted by a Christian Couple and she terrorised them and their other children.

She killed pets, had a violent rage and would masturbate aggressively in public.

An Documentary About Beth shot when she was 6 in the 80s called child of rage is one of

the creepiest things I have ever watched.

Beth was treated for her behaviour, study a degree, wrote a book about turning her life

around called More Than a Thread of Hope and now works as a nurse.

Perhaps Evil, with the right amount of love, care and attention, can be cured.

We have Canada's Youngest Killer, JR, at number 9

The Youngest multiple killer in Canada can't be named under the Youth Criminal Justice

Act, but her crimes speak for themselves.

Known only as J.R, age just 12, the child from Medicine Hat in Alberta killer her family

with the help of her boyfriend Jeremy Steinke.

Jeremy was 23 at the time, which is all kinds of sick.

In 2006, JR and Jeremy cut her 8 year old brothers throat and stabbed her parents to

death then fled.

Neither admitted to killing the child.

Initially police thought she had been abducted, but after uncovering evidence in her school

locker, they realized she planned the attack herself.

She was released from jail in 2016 and now lives with a new identity.

Next up we have the youngest American sentenced to Life in Prison, Lionel Tate at number 8

In 1999, Lionel a 12 years old boy living in Florida.

One night his mother was babysitting a 6 year old, Tiffany Eunick but left her son in the

room with the child while she went to watch TV upstairs.

Over the course of 45 minutes, Lionel abused and beat the child to death.

Prior to the incident, Lionel had been suspended from school 15 times for violence and general

behavioural issues.

7 - Jon Venebles and Robert Thompson This was a big story in the UK in 1993.

On February 12th, 10 year old's Jon and Robert lured away a 2 year old in a shopping

centre in Liverpool.

Taking the toddler away from his mother, they took the boy by the hand and then tortured

and brutally murdered him.

The only reason they were caught was because the abduction was captured on CCTV.

6 - Mary Flora Bell In 1968, Mary Bell was just 11 and living

in Newcastle Upon Tyne.

At a time when kids her age were riding bikes and playing in parks for fun, she was torturing

children.

If that wasn't bad enough, she turned to murder.

She strangled two toddlers, Martin Brown who was four and Brian Howe who was three.

The bodies had also been cut with razors.

Mary was caught and sent to a juvenile prison, where she escaped in 1977 and gave up her

virginity to a male fellow escapee.

She was caught and returned to prison, but released three years later.

We have a tiny evil King at number 5 Murad the Fourth.

Murad came to power in the Ottoman Empire in the 17th Century at some point between

the ages of 11 and 14.

While general considered a good ruler in terms of the country's strength, he was fierce,

tyrannical and bloodthirsty.

He killed his Siblings, had a group of women drowned for dancing and killed a court musician

for singing a song he didn't like.

He also killed people who were brave enough to challenge him, impaling their bodies on

spikes then publicly exhibiting them.

He sounds very King Joeffery!

4 - Jesse Osborne Sometimes it isn't about kill count, it

is about intent.

Jesse Osborne killed two people, but was hoping to kill 150.

Jesse just turned 14 when he turned up at Townville Elementary School in September 2018

with a semi automatic pistol, ready to kill.

He had already shot and killed his own father before he got to the school in North Carolina.

Prior to the attack, he extensively googled school shootings.

He wrote a plan, in which he outline how he was going to get to the school and how many

people he wanted to kill… he wanted to outdo other school killers…he wrote that he thought

he could kill 50 or 60, but..i quote… maybe if I get lucky, 150.

He killed a 6 year old boy, wounded a teacher and another two children, but luckily was

apprehended before he could do his intended amount of damage.

3 - The Boston Boy Fiend Always more sinister with a pencil sketch!

This here is Jesse Pomeroy…otherwise known as The Boston Boy Fiend.

Jesse was straight up deranged, murderous and unrepentant to boot.

It is thought he first killed aged 14, but began his physical attacks age just 11 when

he knifed younger boys, leaving them permanently scarred.

When he was 13, he was sent to a juvenile correctional facility, but when he got out

he brutally murdered 9 children, including a 4 year old.

Age 16, he was committed to solitary confinement – where he spent the next 31 years.

After that, he was commuted to life imprisonment.

31 years in solitary…if he wasn't mad before, he must have been after 31 years in

his own head.

This serial killer showed signs of evil from an early age, we have Edmund Kemper at number

2 - Edmund Kemper Edmund started off disturbed and then turned

into a fully fledged murderer.

Age 10, in 1959 he buried a cat alive, waited for it to die, then dug it up, decapitated

it and put its head on a spike.

He later killed other animals, keeping pieces of their bodies in his closet.

He would mutilate his sisters dolls and his favourite game was Gas Chamber…a game he

invented where he pretended to be dying of a gas attack.

Age 14, he killed his grandparents with a rifel then stabbed their bodies.

When the police came, he said he wanted to feel what it was like to kill Grandma.

Urm.

He went to jail until he was 21, when he was released on parole.

3 years later he began a murdering spree, picking up female hitchhikers.

He would kill them and then would engage in necrophilia.

He later killed his mother and her friend, which eventually led to his arrest.

1 - World's Youngest Serial Killer Amardeep Sada

So Amardeep became the worlds youngest serial killer age 7.

SEVEN!!!

Sada is from a village in India, where he killed three babies…that we know of.

It is suspected that he killed more.

One of the babies he killed he bludgeoned to death with a stone and buried in an unmarked

grave.

He even killed his own baby sister.

When questioned about the killings, he admitted them, and asked for biscuits before being

turned over to the police.

He is now in jail, but imagine what he could have become if he was left out on the loose.

Benicio del Toro on 'Sicario: Day of the Soldado' | CinemaCon | MTV News - Duration: 2:07.

- No rules this time.

- Adios.

(gun shots)

- I'm excited that this film, that the original

warranted a sequel, it's not the typical

movie that warrants a sequel.

Were you surprised when they came back around

and said, we've got another idea?

- I was a little surprised, but,

but I was, why not, you know, why not?

Yeah, okay, you know, I was excited,

and I read the script, written by Taylor Sheridan

and I was like, okay, this is cool.

- And this one, I mean your guy's

front and center this one.

I mean he, in some ways, he's kind

of like the hidden lead of the first film,

in some ways, alongside Emily. - Right, right.

- But this time, you're kind of front and center.

He really goes on a journey, a dark

journey on this one.

- Right, right.

- Was there enough to chew on for you,

for your character?

Were you excited the places that Taylor

went with your character for this one?

- Yeah, I was excited because,

because it was unpredictable, at least for me,

and um, you know, I think that it's good

to see the character, you know,

caught in that moral dilemma, you know,

between, you know, keep going with the job

which is, basically the war they started,

or, you know, make the right decision

and protect the girl who has nothing

to do with any, who's a victim, an innocent

victim, so, and he makes a decision,

and then this brings the character,

played by Josh Brolin, to confront him

and go head to head, so yes, it's got

all great stuff, you know.

- Has Taylor already told you a little

bit about what he's planned for

the potential third film in this trilogy?

I mean, does Emily's character come back?

- I don't, he mentioned something on the go,

and I don't know if I should say it,

you know, 'cause I haven't really talked

to him and said, "Hey can I say this?"

But he said something and I think, you know,

I think that it would be nice to bring Emily,

back and, you know, have her get her--

- Absolutely.

- Cake and eat it too.

(laughs)

Daniel Myers | Building a Personal Brand - Duration: 2:53.

- You've built yourself up to be

one of Melbourne's leading family lawyers.

How have you done it?

- Well, thank you.

I read a book, about a year ago,

which many people will have heard of and read,

called How to Win Friends and Influence People,

which I think is a fabulous book.

It's helped teach me and reinforce

various principles about how I interact

with people in my everyday life

and my professional life.

One of the key principles from the book

is to constantly ask yourself

or to constantly require you to put yourself

in the other person's shoes

and see things from their perspective.

In the context of acting for a client,

that means trying to understand,

from their perspective, what's important to them,

what their goals are, and to drill a bit deeper

underneath the surface of simply what they're saying.

Once I do that, once I have that

broad understanding of what their interests are,

I can become a more powerful and effective advocate

for them as clients.

Which obviously then helps to build your reputation

as a very sound and trustworthy lawyer.

I think the same principle applies

when communicating with my client's

ex-partner or their lawyer,

trying to understand how they will perceive correspondence.

More often than not, it's much more effective

to try and almost correspond in a way

that treats them as equals rather than

trying to impose a result on them,

which nine times out of ten

just leads to the other side

becoming more defensive and actually making it

less likely that they will agree

to the things that I'm asking of them

on behalf of my client.

I think the phrase is,

you catch more bees with honey than vinegar,

and I do agree with that.

The other aspect to the question is,

about building a solid and extensive referral network,

which is particularly important to me

because many of my clients come through personal referrals.

One of the things that the book has taught me

is the value of establishing genuine, personal

connections with the people around me,

Personal and professional contacts,

and doing so by taking a genuine, sincere

interest in them as people.

I think that combined with being

a competent, sound lawyer who understands

all those issues I talk about

has led me to where I am at the moment.

Poldark season 4: Has Aidan Turner just revealed BBC series ending? - Duration: 3:33.

Poldark season 4: Has Aidan Turner just revealed BBC series ending?

POLDARK is set to return to television screens in a matter weeks for its fourth series.

But star of the show Aidan Turner has explained that he doesn't think it will run for much

longer.

Aidan is well-known for playing the brooding character on the popular BBC series and has

opened up on the future of the show.

Poldark has been commissioned for a fifth run but the actor isn't sure if it will

come back for a sixth.

"It's been big for us all and it'll always be a special thing," he explained.

"But things naturally do come to an end and I think we've done really well with Winston's

books and I hope he'd be really proud."

Aidan continued: "But it's nice when things naturally come to an end, you don't want things

to go on really long."

The 34-year-old continued: "I think next year might be the last one, certainly for

a while.

"We may come back, who knows.

There's a huge gap in the books, about 15 years.

"I wouldn't age up, I'd come back in 10 years.

I'd revisit it the right way, I'm not putting grey in my hair or anything like that."

The new series will see Ross face a fresh rival in the come of Monk Adderley (Max Bennett).

Dishing details of his enemy, Aidan commented: "Monk represents everything that Ross hates.

"He is corrupt and has likely acquired his political position through nepotism rather

than hard work.

"Monk is mostly involved in politics for the social scene and rarely bothers to show

up to the House of Commons.

"Ross and Monk immediately get off on the wrong foot and it is funny to play that situation

where you just don't trust someone from the get go – he doesn't trust Ross and

Ross doesn't trust him."

Aidan continued: "They clash straight away and whilst it is never really spoken about,

they have this unsaid hatred for each other from the very beginning until it reaches a

dramatic end."

Meanwhile, his relationship with Demelza (Eleanor Tomlinson) will also play a large role in

the new storyline.

Ross doesn't want to lose Demelza," the actor explained.

"He realises how fragile their relationship is and how awfully he has treated her and

what it feels like to be at the other end of that, which is something he has never experienced

before.

"Ross sometimes need those wake up calls as he is not always aware how he effects other

people and it isn't until something happens where the tables are turned and he is confronted

with that same action himself that he realises what he has done."

Will the pair survive the fourth series?

Poldark returns to BBC One later this year.
