Hey guys, my name's Hailey welcome back to the Disney cupcake channel. Welcome to part three of my

Disney Land haul today I'm gonna be showing you guys just Disney pins. So let's get started

As you guys know before I went to Disneyland I went to comic-con and I purchased a bunch of Disney pins to trade

So I did take over 40 traders to Disney so I could save some money on pins

I actually still have some traders left that I will say for my next Disney trip

but I did train a lot of them pin trading wasn't as being an individual and I

thought a lot of customers did not have pin lanyards on and there were a lot of

Scrapper pins floating around and a lot of just like random pins that could have been faked there pull pin system

There was really interesting very very similar in Walt Disney World's nothing too extreme or different

It's just that there weren't very many pins going around

Disneyland compared to Disney World, but then again a bit smaller, so

That's just some of my opinion on the pins there

But now let's get into the Hall of all of the pins that I got from Disneyland. So let's start off with the pins

I got from Disney, California Adventure

I wanted to get a lot of the ride pins from the different attractions

Because a lot of the attractions there they do not have a Disney World

So I want to make sure I remember all of the rides through that one thing

I was really really disappointed that they did not have was just a California Adventure pin. There was no

Disney California Adventure pin. I don't know why that is I

Why wouldn't there be there's one for every Disney World Park? I've seen them for Disney see

Tokyo Disneyland, just Disneyland Paris. Just Hong Kong. Just Shanghai

No, there's no just California Adventure pin. Anyway, after that slight little rant

Getting at the pins that I purchased

So this one is for the in credit coaster that just opened on Pixar pier

So this was the only pin that they had for Pixar pier on opening day, but it says let's do that again

I really really enjoyed the ride though. So I absolutely love this pin. The next one. We got was for a world of color

I

Actually didn't get to see the show

So I'll have to go back and see that one day for sure and it has all the little sparkly

Fountains with Mickey and his paintbrush and it says world of color then I when I got most for Radiator Springs

Racers and it has the piston cup on it. I absolutely love that attraction

This one is for cars land and it has Lightning McQueen on it. This one is for a Monsters Inc

Mike and Sulley to the rescue and it has a little dangling door with Mike's le and boo

I also got this one for a guardians of the galaxy mission breakout

It has a mixtape on it and it says let's boogie with Groot and this one isn't really specific to California Adventure

I I got this one and Downtown Disney

But this one is basically for knickknacks at Pixar Pier and that was such a great short

And I'm so glad that they pin for it now moving over to pins for Disneyland. I got this

fantasmic pin so it says fantasmic with the fire and then it flips over to Mickey trying to get his hat back from

Maleficent this next one is all silver and it has Mickey Mouse and it says it all started with

And then it opens up to a picture of Walt Disney and Mickey and it has his

Signature and then it has some of the different variations of Mickey through the years all on the inside

This next one is one of the old Disneyland tickets. It is gray

It has the old Disneyland logo and it says the happiest place on earth

Admission for one and then you open it up and it has a view of all the different e ticket attractions

This was one of the ticket books for Matterhorn and it has Mickey climbing the Matterhorn ound with the logo

I also got this sparkly Disneyland II won the retro Disneyland logo

I really really love the colors in this one and I absolutely love all of this retro merchandise

Especially with this being the first original park next

We got an Indiana Jones pin and Mickey actually swings back and forth on it with Boulder coming up behind him

This next pin is for toads, taxi or mr. Toad's Wild Ride

This is one that we don't have in Disney World and I'm really glad they had pins for it

But one of the many Adventures of Winnie the Pooh pins and it has little dangling bees on the bottom

So I got this Splash Mountain one and it has Brer bear and Brer Fox

splashing down the mountain

I also got this bronze a Disneyland Castle one that flips open to reveal

well

It gives me they quote

And the last one I got from Disneyland is the Space Mountain one and it says Disneyland at the bottom with a little flying

Mickey and a little spaceship now, I'm moving into the limited edition pins. This is the Enchanted Tiki Room 55th anniversary

Pin, this one is a spinner but one of the birds pops up and then you could spin it around and then they'll go fully

Away, we were there on a pin release day. And that was one of the pins that they released

They also released this summer 2018 pin. I also got another limited edition pin that says Disneyland Resort

2018. I also got this lemon addition under the SEMA wanna pin and on the pin release day

They had this wall-e pin and this is for the 10th anniversary

They had a bunch of different pins for the 10th anniversary. I also got this one

I really really enjoyed this scene of the movie

And the last time edition of pin that I have been collecting are the Disney donut shop pins

And this one is for Chip and Dale and it flips up into reveal a little donut shop counter

I really really like these and they have the little rubber 3d donuts on them. So now we're gonna move in two pins

I traded for

I'm gonna try to show them to you guys in like a category because there were some sets that I had been trying to finish

while I was there

I did purchase a few packs of pins and if I got any

Duplicates or any ones I didn't like I did end up trading those as well

So in here are some mixed ones that I purchased as well. I'm trying to complete this carousel Hong Kong one and

There are many many characters in this one

But I was able to find a lot of them at

Disneyland whenever I was pin trading I trade it for all three of these the first character I got was Anna

I also got boo and

Duffy I also trade it for all of these pins as well

These are some of the International Park pins and I was actually able to find a lot of these ones as well

These ones are from Shanghai Disneyland, and these are the pin trading fun day

2017 chase your pins and this one is Mickey and I also got another one. This one is Dumbo

I also found this one on my cast members. Lanyard. This is a rock and roller coaster Hollywood studios guitar pick

This one was actually backwards on a customer's lanyard. And if you ever find they backwards one on a customer's lanyard

That means that they are keeping in mystery and it is definitely worth a shot to try to trade for it most of the time

The customers put them backwards because they are really really good pins

And she said that this one was so good that I had to answer trivia for it. So I did trivia

Disneyland Paris

Ratatouille attraction pin. This one is so

Cool another set that I'm trying to complete are the kingdom of cute series one

I recently saw for one of the pin events that they will be releasing a series two

I'm hurrying up trying to finish series one that I did buy two packs and I was able to get some of these characters

I got one duplicate

So I traded that one but the ones that I did get were the teacup Dumbo and the Jungle Cruise

Another set that I first discovered this time. I thought this set was kind of cool

These are the restroom signs from the Disney parks. And these are little Hidden Mickey ones. So this is a woman's restroom

a

Tomorrowland men's restroom sign another men's restroom one and the other Tomorrowland woman's one

I'm also starting to continue to collect these Disney locks and I was able to find two of the ones that I needed

So I was able to get Minnie Mouse and Dale

I continued my hunt for the Disney food pins

And I was able to get a bunch of these I needed I actually ended up finishing one of the sets

I got the chaser

Strawberry this little Mickey had nut a mini head lemon a mini head orange and a mini head

Kiwi I also bought this collectible pack and I got two traders from it the ones that I did not have were

Hercules Minnie Mouse and

Analyst so I'm gonna continue to hunt down the rest of the ones from this set another pack that I purchased was these Disney

Mascots, and these are the Disney Land mascots. I did have two duplicates from this set

These ones are definitely older ones. This one is from California screamin the ride that was before the in credit coaster and this Tiki

headhunterz one

from the Jungle Cruise and I actually got end up trading my third one that I got from this because I was

To bond of the design and I traded it for another one of the mascots and this one is Sully

'some ixia pins that I just found that I just enjoyed

So this first let me have is a star with Mickey and Pluto on it next

I got the silver Mickey Mouse

This one looks like a cast member because he's holding a little clipboard and wearing a little suit

I also got one of these tea cups. I got one of the little dogs because it reminded me of my new dog Kyle

Oh, I got this little on stitch best friends pin. I got this really big goofy pin

I got this Mickey head one with a bunch of different color Mickey heads inside

I got this chaser in Milan parking sign

I bought this cute little Tinker Bell one and I really like the look of this artwork

This one wasn't amazing find this is the Disney College Program

Pin and it has a little graduation hat. I know this one was so so cool

I also found this little ornament one and this one is Tinkerbell and this one is actually from my little Advent

Collection and I didn't even know that they did that at one point and I wish they still did it because that'd be so cool

To get a pin everyday at the month of December

I started collecting the ear hat pins as well. And I got one of the donations this one is patch

I got this chaser Mardi Gras stitch. I got the goofy yield sign

I'm not this cool Mickey statue pin

I got these Mickey ear ones and these ones look like they're from Hong Kong Disneyland

and I continued my hunt for the cutie collection and I got this Donald one and

This is a tour of a goofy one next to the rocket

I have no idea what he's doing, but it's so cute. And I also got Dale

We also stopped at the Disney Studios store in Hollywood

And we were able to pick up some pins from there as well

This one is the lots of vacation pin. And this one is huge. We also got vanilla pee with a popcorn bucket

We got stitched dressed up as a director and we got the little theer sign with little Ghiradelli logo. Where the Disney Store

Hollywood is located these next ones when you bought one of the Disney vacation packages

You got a little lanyard to hold your ticket or fastpasses in and then you have the lanyard itself you even start

Pin trade and they give you a starter pin and you could keep or trade the one that I got with our hotel package was

This making mini one with a castle and it says Disneyland Resort

Some of the other hotels got an orange or yellow lanyard and theirs came with a Donald or Daisy pin

So those were all the pins that I was able to find at the Disneyland Resort

I absolutely love pin trading and I loved being able to trade and

collect new pins every single day

Amazing Day - Piano Lesson 215 - Hoffman Academy - Duration: 21:29.

Hello and welcome back. I'm Joseph Hoffman

and today we're going to work on learning a piece called "Amazing Day"

which I composed for my students in a summer camp I taught years ago. I wanted

the song to capture the excitement and happiness of a really great amazing day.

For me that might be a day when I get to go for a long walk in the forest, or a

bike ride with my boys, or playing frisbee on the beach. As you listen to

this piece, maybe you'll think of some things that you love doing that make for

an amazing day for you. Let's go ahead and listen to "Amazing Day".

All right, let's check out the sheet music for "Amazing Day". Here's my score.

What I'd like you to do is download the sheet music from the website, and press

pause and on your own I'd like you to scan through the entire

piece and just see what you notice. Try and find some patterns that are

happening, maybe look for some things that you've never seen before,

maybe things you have questions about. Just take a minute or two to get

familiar with the piece by scanning through it, and then press play and we'll talk about it together.

All right, what did you notice about this score?

Hopefully you notice our tempo

indication says with excitement, which is not a surprise, and you might have

noticed a new kind of symbol. You see these lines going underneath with this

occasional little arrowhead up and down. These are pedal marks which

we will learn how to read in a later lesson, but for now just know that that's

going to be coming and we're going to learn how to add pedal with this piece.

You might have noticed some new symbols, like this coda symbol which again we'll

learn about in a later lesson. Today we're just going to be focusing on this

page. To coda is a kind of musical teleporter

that's going to teleport you to another section when we get to that point a

second time, but again we'll learn more about that in a lesson very soon.

Today let's focus on this page, and in these first four, I'm sorry, first eight

measures, did you notice any patterns?

Hopefully you noticed a kind of two bar pattern. And when I say 'bar' in music I'm

not talking about a chocolate bar. We're talking about measures. 'Bar' is a kind of

a nickname for a measure. So here's a two bar pattern that repeats. If you look at

the notes inside this yellow box I drew, you'll see the exact same notes repeat

over here in measures three to four.

Now, let's come down here to measures five and six,

and tell me what you notice. Is it the same pattern or different?

It's a very similar, but slightly different pattern.

Let's try and figure out what's the same and what's different. Going back up to our

yellow two bar pattern, can you figure out the name of these two notes in the left

hand? We've got this two note chord. What two notes are those?

If you said D and A you are correct. This is low D just a step above low C, and

then we've got A just a step above our ground G. So we've got this interval of a

fifth down here, and then what happens right here?

We get the same fifth again an

octave higher. We also have a D and an A chord, which again repeats in this two bar

pattern. So we have D and A down low, and then D and A up high here. And then that happens again.

Now what's going on in the right hand? See how we have this interval of a

fourth from E to A, E to A, and then it resolves to a third, D to F-sharp.

Same pattern again. Now what happens here?

Can you tell me the names of

these two notes?

You've got a C on the bottom. That's our low C, and then we've

got our ground G, also a fifth, but this time this fifth is a step below this one. So

that's very important to notice, and then look, the same thing here. Now this

symbol you may recall is a natural, and the natural cancels a sharp or a flat.

And I just realized we forgot to talk about, which we should always do at the start

when we're analyzing a piece, is our key signature. Our key signature for this piece

has two sharps. Now, starting with a D and A chord like this, and seeing the two

sharps, can you figure out what key this piece is in?

If you said D major you're

correct. Check out our ladder of fifths to see

that as we go up the ladder to two sharps, we land on the key of D major

which has both an F-sharp and a C-sharp, however here we're cancelling the C-

sharp and playing a C-natural, and that will give it kind of a unique sound that

we want there. Now here in measure seven and eight do we have a yellow pattern or

a pink pattern?

If you said yellow you're correct. We come back and play that same

yellow pattern again. Now why do I take so much time analyzing the music? Some of

you might be saying, let's just learn how to play it!

Well, if you take time to learn the music this way, you're going to learn it much

faster. You learn this pattern and now boom you already know six measures, not

just two. If you're learning the notes one at a time, you may not recognize

those patterns and realize those chunks which will again make it much faster to

learn. Now last thing before we play this piece, is to figure out the rhythms. The

rhythm between the two hands is a little bit, it has a little bit of a

syncopated feel. So let's write in the counts. What is happening on beat 1?

I've got this forte mark which is a little bit in my way, but I'll just write

a little below it. The right hand is resting the left hand is playing on beat

1. On beat 2 the right hand plays, on beat 3 the right hand plays.

See the left hand is just holding for those first 3 beats because of this dotted

half note, then beat 4 the left hand plays. Now, you'll notice this is tied to

this whole note, so the right hand is going to hold this chord for beat 4

plus 4 more beats in this next measure. 1 2 3 4

And then this same rhythmic pattern repeats for throughout the first eight measures.

Let's try tapping that rhythm on the piano lid or on your lap or a table.

Now, let's try tapping the rhythm of these first eight measures. Our rhythmic

pattern is we have a left hand on beat 1, so go ahead and try this with me on

your own. Left on 1, then right on beat 2, right on beat 3, then another

left on beat 4, and then a right on 1 2 3 of the next measure. So all

together we get, 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 Good, now count the beat

with me as you tap. Let's try measures one through eight.

Remember we're in two bar pattern, so it will be the same rhythm over and over again.

Let's count 4 beats to prepare, and then we'll start. Count the beat out loud

with me as you tap.

Here we go, 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 1

2 3 4 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4

Great, now if you need more practice with that,

please pause the video, rewind to try it again,

or if you're ready let's go on and learn to play the notes.

Let's master the left hand first for a change. Here's my middle C. Where do I need to

place my left hand? We already identified that we have a D and an A, so should it

be right here?

No, because this A is too close to middle C. You can see on the

score that this D and A is near ground G which is way down here.

So this is the first chord. Go ahead and find that on your piano and play that

open fifth chord from D to a we hold that three beats one two three four and on

before we come up an octave to play the same chord one octave higher one two

three four one two three four one two three four one two three four let's try

that together count the beat out loud with me as you play the left hand from

the start I'll give you four beats beats to prepare then let's play one two three

four one two three four one two three four one two three four one two three

four good it's very important that you count out loud as you play because the

rhythms of this piece are a little syncopated it's not often that we have a

strong accent on beat four like this and so by Counting you'll make sure that

you're getting those rhythms correct let's try it one more time make sure

you're landing right on beat four with this other chord here we go four beats

to prepare then we go 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 1 2 3 4 how did you do

good again you can always pause if you need more time to try something

otherwise let's go on to the next line look at measure 5 now we have a C energy

you'll notice it's just a step below the chord we were just on

see natural I should say we're in the key of D major which usually has a C

sharp but sometimes even and D major it's almost like a mixolydian mode which

is kind of an advanced music theory term to just say that we've lowered that

seventh note to kind of have a more unique sound here okay so find that C

and G and then it comes up the octave once again on beat four so let's try

measures five and six counting the beat ready go one two three one two three

four then it measures seven and eight it's back to the old pattern two three

four one two three four great now pause the video and practice measures one

through eight left hand only with counting the beat out loud pause to

practice that section on your own then press play to go on

now let's check out what the right hand is doing look at measure 1 you'll see we

start on an e with finger to go in place finger two on e and then what interval

do we go up we already identified that we go up a fourth finger five on a okay

so we have rest on beat one then two three four one two and then a D and an F

which because of our key signature has to be F sharp okay try that with me

ready rest on beat one then finger two on beat on beat two we play with finger

two two and then beat three four one two three four now you try now let's try

putting that with the left hand remember we've got a tricky rhythm that's going

between the hands so let's count the beat out loud as we do it it's one two

three four one two three

four two three four one two three four two three four one two three four now

you notice I was going quite slow let me grab my metronome

I suggest you practice at a quite slow speed one two three four four I've got

my metronome at 72 beats per minute and don't worry eventually we're gonna

go much much faster but at first we've got to get the rhythms correct so

practice it slow and steady pause the video to try measures 1 through 8 hands

together and then press play to go on

now again at first when you're see this goes super slow at about 72

beats per minute and then you know you'll kick that up maybe the 88

gradually gradually speed that up our final speeds going to be close to 180

for now let's look at measures 9 through 16 take a look at the left-hand part

first again and tell me what you notice

you should notice that the left hand is doing the exact same pattern as before

so we're good for the left hand right now check out the right hand part and

tell me what you notice same or different this time the right hand has a

slightly different pattern now on beat 2 we've got two eighth notes so we have

one

okay so we've got the same basic idea going on but an embellished or kind of

this new fun rhythm pattern

those eighth notes add some energy to it

tri measures 9 through 16 several times on your own hands together and then

press play to go on now here in measure 9 you may have noticed this symbol 8 be

a second time only and then dash dash dash dash dash that's death this long

line that you can completely ignore for right now because we're not on our

second time through once we learned the B section we're going to hit a DC out

coda which is going to take us back to play this section again the second time

through we're going to do this right hand pattern in measures 9 through 12 up

one octave that's what that 8 VA is telling you but don't worry about that

yet because we haven't gotten to the next section so for now just ignore that

you can also ignore this to code as symbol that also doesn't mean anything

until we come back the second time so for your practicing for right now just

ignore all that writing up there above measures 9 through 12 okay let's listen

to the entire a section once I'm going to play it at a fairly slow speed which

again I recommend you start at about 72 but this may be what you could play it

at after let's say a day or two of practice I've sped this up too let's go

to a hundred beats per minute here we go

but you have to beat out loud with me

and that's the section we learned today and you're practicing on your own I

strongly encourage you to count the beat out loud or use a metronome or both

start at a very slow speed and gradually increase until you're at our performance

speed of around 184

great job learning the a section of amazing day I encourage you to remember

to count the beat out loud as you practice that's going to help you keep

the beat steady and help make sure that all the rhythms are correct happy

practicing and I hope your day is amazing see you next time

The British public and syrup lovers of the world were in shock after noticing a 'dark'

and 'depressing' detail on an iconic tins label.

How can something that has been in the public eye for so many years just be seen?

In this video, we look subliminal messages and the brand label that are hiding them

Lyle's Golden Syrup has been a sweet treat for generations the iconic tin has been hiding

a macabre detail for years. since 1885 the design of the tin has remained

vastly unchanged the images that adorn the front of the container largely ignored until

now. fans of the sticky treat have just discovered

that the label had something which left a few of them are a little traumatized.

In the center of the label is a yellow lion, most assumed the beast was sleeping but look

a little closer...are they flies circle a lions corpse?

They are not actually flies but bees and the image is taken from a biblical story.

In the tale, Samson kills a lion with his bare hands.

When he returns to the carcass a few days later he noticed a swarm of bees had built

a hive inside. So Samson took the honey and gave it to his

parents. When asked where he got it from, he said:

"Out of the eater, something to eat; out of the strong, something sweet."

This image had been missed for years and it's not the only one.

logos stay with companies for many years often getting overhauled and redesigned but keep

a core design element for brand recognition Often the meaning of these logos or let's

say symbols are lost and people see the design and think of a product often not thinking

about any subliminal message it may contain. These messages can show something innocent

like a tribute to their hometown or influence us subconsciously into thinking about a product

in a certain way. Take a look at these 10 logos and their hidden

messages, and don't forget to let me know in the comments if you have spotted these

1. The first logo is that of NBC — The white space in the NBC logo forms a peacock — This

is thought to represent NBC's as a loud and proud news broadcaster.

The peacock is also a symbol of Incorruptibility, Awakening, and Royalty.

Are they trying to announce themselves as the Royalty of media?

2.another well-known brand is BMW —The white parts of the logo represent a propeller, while

the blue sections symbolize the sky. This because the car company rose out of the

ashes of a German aircraft manufacturing firm in 1917.

the Treaty of Versailles putting an end to its building of fighter planes and bombers,

but its heritage is still there in its logo.

3. and while we visit this part of Europe another world famous brand out Switzerland

Toblerone. — How many of you can see the See the dancing bear hidden in the mountain?

Could this symbol be interpreted a little differently, the bear a symbol of strength

trapped in the mountain? The company says that the design is a tribute

to the Swiss town where the chocolate was developed: Bern, which is also known as "The

City of the Bears."

4. Probably the biggest brand logo on the planet Coca-Cola.

A 2013 campaign in Denmark points out an unintended message (or so they say) hidden in the logo.

The Danish flag is nestled between the "O" and the "L." Maybe this is subliminally playing

on the feeling of patriotism in the country? 5. The London Symphony Orchestra logo is not

only an acronym but also appears to be the image of an abstract conductor.

6. this branding is not only found in consumer products how about religion? The Presbyterian

Church's logo is jam-packed with symbolism. eight different religious symbols hide in

the main image.

And you can not let water came inside of your eyes, because you will not be able to see for 10 minutes.

It's also the biggest reserve of natural salt.

There is no animal or plant under there, because there is very, very, very salty.

And this is mentioned in the Bible, in the old testament when God destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah, it was here.

This is why this water is salty and no anything lives inside.

When God destroyed it...from then no animal, no plant no anything lives in here.

There is Israel/Palestine.

I was already in that side.

So as we see there is a lot of salt here and in the water.

is really the plan but the reality is

that you are free to choose anything you

want the reality is you can go in any

path you want the reality is that path

is an illusion the truth of life is you

can go anywhere you want you can be

anything that you want you can become

anyone you want to become at the end of

the day the choice is yours at the end

of the day you get to construct yourself

you get to decide what it is that you

want to believe as long as you're not

violating the laws of physics even

physics is a game of maybe even physics

is uncertain and unknown at the end of

the day everything that you get to do

you get to choose you get to create you

get to build something that you want to

be and in that that's where people get

lost they don't understand that the

control is theirs they're lost because

they think there's a path they think

there's a way forward and emotionally it

doesn't resonate emotionally they're

unable to make it feel real because it

doesn't feel real they feel lost they're

unsure they don't know where to go or

who to become or even who they are and

that sense of being lost comes from the

freedom of being able to choose anything

you want but no one told you that you

could choose

but as tupac shakur said reality is

wrong dreams are for real it's the dream

that you want to focus on the dream is

your ability to construct that path the

dream is you saying this is the way that

I want to walk the dream is you saying

all of this nothingness all of this mass

confusion all of this probability and

uncertainty I am going to manifest

something real and concrete and

directional in my life I choose to be

Who I am I choose to be who I become I

choose to build something with my hands

to create something that has never been

seen before to do something that people

have never done before to believe in

things that other people cannot see that

dream is my reality that dream is what

I'm going to bring into existence that

dream is the thing that I believe in and

in believing in that dream and building

that path and finding out in deciding

who you want to be for the first time

you will find yourself in yourself a

coming

so go become what you want to be don't

worry about walking somebody else's path

because it is good not just because it

stands a chance to succeed this is

something that I think a lot of people

misunderstand they think that the goal

of their life is to identify something

that'll work to identify something that

has the odds stacked in its favour

rather than to think about what matters

what's important because if something is

important if it speaks to you if it's

going to give resonance to your life

then it's worth doing even if it's

something that is almost guaranteed to

fail when something matters enough

regardless of the odds it's worth

engaging with because even in the

pursuit you can find meaning and as

humans one of the things that we hunger

for most is purpose and meaning but you

can't have that purpose and meaning

without the thing that you're pursuing

be something that you believe to be

worthwhile so don't worry about whether

or not it succeeds ask only about

whether or not it's going to light you

on fire asked only if in those dark

moments that it will give you that sense

of mattering to this world that even in

the failure do you learn something about

yourself do you see the truth that you

matter and that even as a single person

even as one individual you can echo

through this world but that will never

happen by pursuing something small that

will never happen by pursuing something

simply because it can win it will only

happen by pursuing something that

matters and in that if you pursue

something it matters and you're able to

get to the point where you can see it

across the finish line or at least

advance it and make it a step closer to

becoming real in that we realize how

societies really are transformed in that

in trying the big the impossible

dreaming that thing that nobody else is

even willing to talk about in dreaming

that it is the crazy ones who are able

to change the world because the crazy

ones allowed the

so to believe they allowed themselves to

believe that against all the odds a

world that does not yet exist could

actually exist and as Ralph Marsden said

welcome those big stinky complicated

problems in them are your most powerful

opportunities and that's it the big

problems the ones that matter the things

that will give you purpose and meaning

in your life they're going to be hard

but if you can look at the hard things

and show up and push every day and keep

striving and when you fall down pick

yourself back up and focus only on one

thing not whether or not you're going to

win but whether or not it mattered that

you played if you do that every

sacrifice in your life will be worth it

and if not nothing you gain will have

mattered as Frederick Nietzsche said

many are stubborn and pursued the path

they have chosen few in pursuit of the

goal and that's one of the things that

really trips people up at the end of the

day a path is an option it's one of the

ways forward but it's the thing that

you're doing right now today so people

get really focused on that they make

their happiness built around that they

think about that as the thing but as the

old saying goes don't confuse the finger

with the moon that it's pointing at

that's where you've got to be really

careful at the end of the day the goal

is the thing that you're trying to

achieve the goal is what you're trying

to get the path is irrelevant the path

is really your best guess it's the thing

you think is going to work but if you

become my optically focused on that if

you think that the path really is the

end thing if you think the finger

actually is the moon then you miss the

objective to which you're fighting for

then you're not going to have the N

keep pushing when things get really hard

because you're going to have mistaken

the way of getting there with the

destination itself and I think that

people a lot of times throw hate on

having a destination on building towards

some big goal of having some grand thing

that they're chasing but as Einstein

said if you want to live a happy life

tie it to a goal not to people not to

things and the reason that he said that

people and things they change you've got

no control over them at the end of the

day the only thing that you really

control is yourself at the end of the

day the only thing that you can hope for

is to be going after something that has

meaning something that has purpose

something that really gives you a reason

for being that directs your actions that

becomes the filter by which you judge

everything that really becomes the

center the gravitational center of your

own universe but it's the goal

so what is it that you really want you

have to identify that to me everything

in life everything in life starts with

the goal and then work your way

backwards don't allow yourself to get

caught up in other people and putting

their happiness and somebody else in

finding purpose in something else and

trying to obtain things have it be

something that you're trying

acomplish have it be something that

you're trying to

once you're on the path to becoming

then you can find real you've got two

choices in life choice one you can

become somebody else choice - you can

become yourself now I really wish that

there was only one choice but in truth

there's not and most people choose to

try to become someone else because it's

a road map

it's points in the direction you see

someone you respond to something you

admire them you want to be like them and

in that process you've made your

decision in that process you decided to

become somebody else you have mistaken

the finger for the moon instead you need

to understand the being inspired by

somebody does not mean to become that

person to become that which inspires you

it is to understand fundamentally what

is it about that thing that excites you

what is it what is its essence and when

you can find its essence then you can

find out how it would apply to you

becoming you and as then she says flower

does not think about competing with the

flower next to it it just blooms and

that's really your job is to see the

outside world to see the flower next to

you to understand the amazing things

that are happening all around you all of

the incredible people and the essence of

what they have and what it is that

they've done to bring inside yourself

between that then you can really begin

to be something unique you can become

that thing that you were meant to be

every day of your life there and as

genius but if you judge a fish by its

ability to climb a tree it will live

it's whole life believing that it's

stupid and that's what confuses people

people believe that they're done because

they're not finding their path they're

not defining things based on what

excites them and what they want to live

with every day they're just looking to

what the outside world says is good and

I think it's incredible that there are

other people doing things that are so

extraordinary that we aspire to be like

that but you have to understand the

difference between being like someone

and trying to actually

beep them so if what inspires you is

that somebody works hard work hard if

what inspires you is that somebody gets

up every time they fail get up every

time you fail if what you like is that

they're themselves with all their weird

eccentricities and quirks then be true

to your eccentricities and quirks but

don't try to embody their eccentricities

and quirks that's the surest way to

become the fish that thinks it's stupid

because it's being judged by trying to

climb a tree

so if Scott Belsky said when 99% of the

people doubt your idea

you're either gravely wrong or about to

make history and that's the terrifying

part you're not gonna know you're not

gonna know the difference but if you're

chasing somebody else's path if your

whole game is emulation if your whole

game is to mimic that which inspires you

you will never find the thing that's

real about you and look I don't know

about you but I can be wrong I can be

gravely wrong I can have people think me

an idiot and try something and fail as

long as it was true to me because then

the lesson that I'm gonna learn is going

to apply it's gonna take me an ever step

closer to actually being the person that

I want to become that I want to live

with every day

I can't be

if I don't understand who I want to be

so look inward identify your path

identify what excites you and go after

it as if your life depends on it because

in truth it does

all right listen and listen well because

no truer words are ever gonna be fucking

spoken you can do anything you want

without limitation whatever it is that

you decide you want to make come true in

your life you can do that it is gonna

take an inhuman amount of work you're

gonna have to be prepared to break

yourself in half you are going to have

to learn more than anyone has ever

learned you're gonna have to push

yourself harder than anyone has ever

asked you to push yourself before you're

gonna go way beyond your breaking point

you're gonna run until you vomit you're

gonna study until you fall asleep you're

going to push and push and push and then

you're gonna push some fucking more and

when you hit the limit you're gonna push

again beyond that you're gonna force

yourself to an adaptation response and

why because it's Malcolm X said the

future belongs to those who prepare for

it today so if you don't put the work in

today if you don't do the unending

back-breaking work of developing

yourself into something greater the

world is gonna pass you by the people

that are going to own it are gonna be

the ones that did that work and the one

promise that I can make you right now is

that somebody somebody out there is out

working somebody right now is doing the

things that I'm saying somebody right

now is doing the work of

failing and getting up and getting

better and pushing themselves and

triggering that glorious adaptation

response that makes humans the apex

predator someone right now they're

putting in that work and if you don't

the future is gonna belong to them and

as Martin Luther King jr. said you can't

climb than one if you can't run then

walk if you can't walk then crawl but

whatever you do you have to keep moving

forward it's not okay to make excuses

it's not gonna slow people down it's not

okay

to ask the world to stop so that you can

step out front it's not okay to expect

little of yourself and demand great

rewards the only thing that's okay is to

be in line with the way that the world

really works and if you want to be great

you've got to become capable of

greatness you've got to develop your

skill set you've got to take what you

have now

that's crawling than fucking crawl but

you drag yourself ever forward to a

vision of yourself that is so clear and
