📌 Making a boomerang 👍 - Duration: 8:29.
Hello all, welcome to a new video on my channel.
Today we will be making something really nice!
We will be making our own boomerang!
More after the intro.
We will be needing glue, a 90 degree protractor, a pencil, a clamp, a piercer, some sandpaper a tape measure...
and two big paint stir sticks!
Make sure that they are as straight as possible!
1st we need to see if the sticks are concave.
If so, mark the concave site as top!
Now get the tape measure, and find the middle of one of the paint sticks.
In my case it's 15.75 cm
You also need to find the middle across.
In my case it's 1.5 cm.
So this is the middle of the stick!
Now we are going to use the piercer to pierce a hole in the middle of one of the paint sticks!
I almost pierced through the paint stick.
Now get the 2nd paint stick and line it up with the stick with hole in it. When done continue piercing it!
This way the hole will be in the same place as in the 1st stick!
The reason why we need to do this is as we will be offsetting both stick at a 90 degree corner!
Now it's time to do some sanding.
Before so, you need to know if you are going to through the boomerang with your left or right hand!
I am right handed, so I will through it like so.
In my case this is the leading edge...
and this the trailing edge.
The trailing edge needs to be sandpapered into the shape of a wing!
If you through the boomerang with your left hand you it will be the other way around!
This will be the trailing edge en this the leading edge!
Now we need to mark the area that needs to be sanded down.
So the trailing edge!
For me it will be this area! (about half)
Okay. Let's sandpaper it down!
But as I'm lazy I will use the electric grinder :-)
Remove the piercer.
Time to start grind!
Okay. As you can see I have now a nice wing shape.
The leading edge and the trailing edge.
I'm going to put my name on it, but this is not needed.
I'm done, and as you can see I have put "I am Kian" on it.
Now put the piercer back in one of the sticks
Now we are going to glue everything together!
Put the glue nicely around the piercer!
Now put the 2nd stick on top of the 1st stick. Use the piercer to guide it nicely down in place.
Use the 90 degree protractor to make sure it's in a 90 degree corner.
When all is lined up, use the clamp to keep things in place till the glue is dry!
Okay. The glue has hardened!
All looking good!
The piercer can now be removed.
For simplicity I am going to put a mark at the top of my boomerang.
I have also added a thin coating over the boomerang to protect it from water.
Let's test it!
It is kind of windy, but.... Will boomerang return to me?
The wind is coming from there, so I need to through it in that direction!
Too bad. I just missed it.
Okay. It's on my left so I need to through it more to the right!
So. If it is on my left I need to go more right, and if it's right of me I need to go more left!
So people. It's a good boomerang!

both are from Dunlop by the way, but one is the Jazz Tortex 1.14 millimeter.
And this is probably the guitar pick I use the most, I use them for live.
But then sometimes I use this Sculpted Plectra Primetone guitar picks from Dunlop
I don't know if you can see...
These are the two ones I use now and then I just got a couple of guitar picks from Dunlop just now.
More of these new Flow picks.
So yeah
Tortex Jazz 3 1.14 and these Sculpted
These ones are 1.4 millimeters thick and I like switching between them.
These Primetone from Dunlop, they're really good for alternate picking.
But they don't sound as good as the regular tortex, so I'm kind of switching between.

Well, it depends on how low you tune your guitar
I mean the lower you tune your guitar the better is it to have a longer scale guitar.
My personal preference is that in the tuning that I'm in like standard D, drop C and standard C
I'm perfectly fine with 25.5", I don't have any problems with that
But as soon as you go below that, I think you need a longer scale, like my seven strings are 26.5"
I tune it to drop A, which is perfectly fine
And also, when you have an Evertune it helps a little bit as well with the intonation when hitting the string.
So, there you go, I think that's fine.
And those are also the scale lengths that I prefer to play, if you go like 27", 28"...
it gets kind of awkward for me to play, I must admit.

because I am free to do whatever I want
and that is something that I'm very fortunate to have.
To have this freedom, that makes me wealthy, if you understand what I'm saying.
You know, I don't really care that much about material things or having a house
I would probably, at some point, when I become a little bit richer, maybe I'll get a house for me and my family.
But we'll just have to see, I live in a really expensive area as well, in Sweden.

This is something that is very important if you play very hard and very common for Stratocaster guitars
it's basically a pick guard and you can use it in all your conversations together with your new Swedish friends.

because a lot of people know what aplektrumskydd is and it's not an easy word
