How to make an automatic night light | LDR Circuit - Duration: 2:19.

Hello all of you, today I will show you how to make this simple automatic night light.

Let us get started.

Here are the components required: a LED, a 150 ohms resistor, a 10-Kilo Ohms resistor,

a transistor, and a LIGHT DEPENDENT RESISTOR (LDR), some breadboard connectors and a breadboard.

You can use any NPN bipolar junction transistor, for example, BC547, 2N2222A, 2N3904 etc.

Some of you people have a problem that you do not have the exact value resistor, which

I am using, for that; you can use a resistor which value is close to what I am using.

Like, you can use any resistor between the value of 4K and 10K for the 10K resistor and

any resistor whose value is between 100 and 1000 ohms for the 150 ohms resistor.

Insert the transistor with its flat surface facing towards you.

The pins of the transistor are: Now, connect the collector and base of the

transistor using 10K resistor.

The second step is to connect the +ve terminal of the LED to emitter of the transistor using

150 ohms resistor and –ve terminal to GND.

Then, connect the LDR between base of the transistor and GND.

Now, give the power supply through a 9-volt battery and you circuit is ready to use.

The circuit should work fine like this, when light is not falling on the LDR the LED should

turn on.

Ice fishing on Lake Sils - Duration: 4:08.

Antonio Walther has dreamt of ice fishing on Lake Sils for a long time.

It took ten years for his idea to become a reality.

This looks like a good spot.

There aren't many other ice fishers on the lake this morning.

Antonio Walther can choose where he wants to sit.

The ice is a good 40-60 cm thick. The perfect place for a hole.

Basically it doesn't matter. You do it by feeling.

You always think the big fish will be just down there.

That's why you drill.

The Lake Sils trial will run for two years, from January to March.

It's only possible because the lakes in the Upper Engadine

are privately owned.

Ice fishing is not allowed on the other lakes

owned by canton Graubünden.

But the canton is still monitoring

the local fishing club's pilot project.

The ice fishers can only drill a hole within a given sector.

That way they know exactly where fish were caught and where not.

With ice fishing, the fish come to us, and look for us.

At least, that's what we reckon.

We don't really know if that's how the fish think.

But it's true that the light from the hole

attracts them.

The first ones usually bite right away,

as soon as you've made the hole.

There's a maximum of 30 licences per day.

And only artificial bait, such as rubber fishes, is allowed.

But five experienced fishermen a day may also fish with live bait.

What we have here is a minnow,

a fish that lives here in Lake Sils.

It was caught in the summer and frozen.

They want to find out which bait the fish prefer.

But the ice fishers want to catch one fish in particular: the namaycush.

There are too many of them,

and ice fishing would reduce their numbers in Lake Sils.

It was a method used in the 1960s

when there were too many char.

And now the numbers have exploded.

We have hardly any char now, just these big fish.

The first goal of ice fishing is to catch the big ones.

But so far, fishing for namaycush

hasn't been very successful.

25 fish have been caught since January,

and just a dozen or so of these were namaycush.

But there's another idea behind ice fishing too:

a niche tourist product

to attract ice fishing fans to Lake Sils.

And?

I've caught some grass. - Grass?

I had two fish bite. - Really.

Yes, yes.

Daniel Kilian is a keen ice fisher.

He travelled from his home in Basel to Maloja

to try out ice fishing.

It's important to do it at different locations.

My experience was that

public interest is growing sharply.

People say: "Ice fishing - I've heard of it,

seen pictures, I've heard about it on the radio or seen it on TV."

"I want to try it."

I think it's important that Graubünden can offer it.

But the cantonal officials

are not exactly jumping for joy at the prospect

of ice fishing on Lake Sils.

Although it started off well, there's been no criticism

and the watchdogs are satisfied with how things have gone, but:

the fish are just not being caught.

The goal of reducing the namaycush stocks

has been missed by a wide margin.

Just under a dozen fish instead of the target of 100 -

not a resounding success.

And recently, based on our evaluation,

and despite the enthusiasm of the people who came, not enough

took advantage of the opportunity.

Here too we failed to meet expectations.

Now, they want to wait

and see what the second year of the pilot brings.

Only then will the canton decide,

together with the Lake Sils fishing club,

if the project can go on.

Valais counts on cheese production to save its farms - Duration: 1:39.

Day dawns in Val d'Illiez.

With milk selling at 50 centimes, times are hard.

More and more farms are closing

because dairy farming brings in next to nothing.

Cheese is one way of earning a better income.

This afternoon, the Swiss Confederation and the Canton of Valais agreed

to build a centre to promote cheese from Val d'Illiez.

The project will cost 13 million francs.

It's goal is to promote farm

products created in this region.

Tourists passing through and also people living in the valleys

will have access to these regional products.

The necessary infrastructure will be created for the producers.

An ageing cellar will become a storage place for

cheeses from the region.

It makes more market sense to deal in volumes

rather than on an individual basis.

A single producer doesn't deal in large-scale distribution.

Centralization will also make it possible to use robots to age the cheeses.

We're impatiently waiting to offload this work.

The project will begin in autumn and run until 2022.
