Waching daily Nov 3 2017

how's it going everyone so today I'm gonna be planting some watermelons so

I've never really tried growing these before but I've always wanted to and so

I'm in the right along the back fence here in a yard in Adelaide and I've been

digging up some old areas just as some more like garden beds as my grandparents

said yeah sure just go for it and so there was a whole heap of weeds

and stuff along here but I'm just trying to use all this space to grow some more

produce so in one of the corners I'm gonna be trying growing watermelons now

I'm trying the variety sugar baby just because this one isn't as much of a

rambler as there are other plants along here and as I am growing it near some

new beds that I've made I don't want it to take over the garden so I'm going to

be drying the variety sugar baby which is also a smaller watermelon but it's

supposed to be very nice and sweet so I'll pretty much be showing you guys

how I prepared the soil what I've added to it and then also I'll be taking into

planting and just how to just how I'm gonna be looking after it a bit in the

next couple of weeks while it's getting established okay so these are the two

watermelons that I've got so as I said they're both of sugar baby variety and

this one is doing much better both play at the same time of some reason this is

just doing better and this is the spot that I've chosen to grow them in so this

is in a corner that is more east northeast facing so it does get most of

the day Sun but also because it's in the corner here in the fence in this metal

fence it is a bit of a heat sink as well so it will get it'll be a lot warmer

than it is say in the middle of the garden which these watermelons will love

so all I did to prepare this was really dig up the ground I got the pitchfork in

here and it was a fairly clay but it was actually reasonably welds well

structured clay so I just dug that over a lot and then got in a fair bit of the

compost he just besides me added about a wheelbarrow load in for this small area

and just loosely dug that through the soil then it also got

blood and bone and mixed in quite a few generous handfuls of that just slightly

into the top of the soil and then covered it with some of this peace straw

mulch now the good thing is about that compost is that it is absolutely loaded

with compost Williams it is amazing I'm so hopefully they've been working the

soil over the past week so I prepared this about a week ago I just wanted to

let all the microorganisms and the worms and stuff were kiss all over let it

settle in a bit before I plant these watermelons so now I'll get started into

planting the watermelons okay so now for planting the watermelon so all I'm going

to be doing for that is plain to them about 50 centimetres 50 to 60

centimetres or so which is I think about a foot and a half to 2 feet apart which

will pretty much be on each side of this little patch this just allows enough

space for them to grow without too much competition this soil is very fertile

now that I've added the compost and blood and bone and other things so it

should be very nice and fertile and it's well draining but it'll hold on to a lot

of water which obviously water mounds will like so make sure that pull away a

lot of the mulch because I don't want the mulch coming up around the stems of

the watermelon and causing them to rot so now I'm just gonna get these

watermelons look at that that's a nice root system right there now you do have

to be careful and take into consideration when replanting

watermelons and other cucurbits because they don't really like it so try to be

gentle as gentle as you can and plant them at the same depth that they were in

the pot now I'm going to be forming a little well around each of them and I'll

be doing the exact same thing you just found a couple of compost worms in there

which is nice now the reason why I like to form a bit of a basin especially for

watermelons is because this then holds water it's like a little Bowl where the

water can sit go straight to the roots of the watermelons and obviously when

they start really growing and producing flowers and fruit you want to have

something like this just so they can hold a lot of water

because obviously watermelons as the name implies they need a lot of water

okay so now I've just got some eggshells here and I'm gonna be using these just

to protect the water mounds because things like slugs and snails will

absolutely love them so shows form a nice thick barrier around each

watermelon plant now I'm gonna make sure I give these guys a really good drink

just to settle them make sure they get some water around their roots now they

were planted so in terms of maintaining the watermelons the first thing one of

the biggest ones is definitely what I mentioned before keeping slugs and

snails and other pests away from them so I'm gonna be using eggshells but if need

be I'll also probably be making like a chili and soap garlic spray as well just

to come around and spray them if needed because for some reason and I don't

exactly know why but um cucurbit so that's like the watermelons cucumbers

pumpkins aki-nee's their foliage especially when it's young slugs and

snails absolutely love the roof favorite and so especially as they're getting

established these young watermelons are going to be probably targeted by them so

I'm gonna be keeping a watch out for that so that's one way of maintaining it

another is just make sure that the water is up as the name implies which I've

already mentioned it is called water melon and they do really like a lot of

water but obviously it'll be especially at fruiting flowering fruiting and

they're really the third thing I'm gonna be actually two more things I need a

watch is for nutrition because watermelons are very very hungry feeders

so they like a lot of nutrients and like I said before I added in a whole heap of

compost and blood bar and that should sustain them but also I might be giving

them some foliar not follow the thief but a liquid feed of probably like see

so I can see we concentrated something like that as well just to keep them

topped up with some nutrition get them some extra

and nutrient elements as well for for them to grow healthy and strongly and

then lastly the last thing under you do to maintain them is keep them contained

so watermelons is all pretty much more cucurbits they are spread as they like

to really spread out through the garden so what I need to watch for you just

make sure that they stay contained because I don't want them going in

amongst the other veggies so in that corner it's actually pretty much fenced

off between the through the compost bin and there is actually a little fence

it's probably four square meters or so I'll pretty much be keeping that

contained in that and just wrapping around the vines or pinching out the

shoots to encourage more of the lateral growth which gross fruit and therefore i

sorry grows the flowers and therefore more fruit so those are really the main

four things that I'm going to be watching for the one-minute and keeping

them maintained so that's it for the watermelon so I'll pretty much leave the

video right there but first I do have to thank a very special group of people and

they are the patrons so thank you guys so much you guys are amazing if you

don't know who the patrons are they are just some people who like my videos and

one support me so they donate a couple of dollars every month or so and this

way it just helps me to my keeps my channel ticking over and running and

check out patreon soon there would be a little tile coming up along here

otherwise I'll put it in the YouTube card butchers I think this corner but

just want to say g'day pop that down below as well and lastly if you haven't

The Difference Between The Standard Lipo And Hourglass Lipo - Duration: 6:34.

Hi, this is Dr. Hourglass, and welcome to another video in our channel Superhourglass.

Today we are going to discuss: The difference between standard liposuction and hourglass liposuction.

In this channel, we will discuss everything you need to know

for you to get the hourglass shape you've always wanted.

Welcome back!

Liposuction is one of the common and popular plastic surgery procedures in the United States.

The hourglass liposuction is one of my signature procedures that I had developed to help patients achieve

the most popular hourglass body.

So, what is the difference between standard liposuction and hourglass liposuction?

Let's take a look.

At the onset, standard liposuction and hourglass liposuction have different aesthetic goals to achieve.

The standard procedure aims to simply remove the stubborn fat pockets from different areas of the body.

The procedure is performed under local anesthesia.

During the surgery, tumescent anesthesia is injected into the target area and a hollow tube

called a cannula is inserted into the site.

The cannula is connected to a suction pump or special syringe.

Next, manual movement of the cannula

is used to dislodge or liquefy the fat from the surrounding tissue.

The fat is then removed with the help of the suction pump or syringe.

The same process is repeated on each target area.

On the other hand, the goal of hourglass liposuction is to help you achieve the hourglass figure

– smaller waist, wider hips, and curvaceous body.

The fat removal process remains the same as standard liposuction.

While removing the fat, the plastic surgeon uses his sense of aesthetics and artistry

to beautifully sculpt the target areas, specifically the abdomen, sides, flanks, and thighs.

After the fat has been removed and the areas have been contoured, your waist would appear smaller.

In the next step, the fat removed from the body is purified in a centrifuge.

The impurities, dead cells, fluids, and injured fat cells are separated from the healthy fat cells.

Next, only the healthy and fully alive fat cells are grafted into the hips with a special syringe.

The fat grafting is done very carefully so the desired shape is achieved.

As a result of transferring the fat to the hips, the hips become wider and the butt appears fuller.

These aesthetic improvements, combined with the smaller waist resulting from the fat removal,

introduce the features of the popular hourglass shape to your body.

You will appear more feminine, fertile, beautiful, and sexier as a result of the wider hips,

fuller butt, smaller waist, and curvaceous figure.

In this video we discuss: The difference between standard liposuction and hourglass liposuction.

In the next video we will discuss: Why hematoma occurs after plastic surgery.

Assassin's Creed Origins: Developer Q&A - History & Setting | Ubisoft [US] - Duration: 5:30.

Hi, my name is Maxime Durand.

I'm the franchise Historian working on Assassin's Creed.

I'm super excited to be here to answer your questions regarding

Assassin's Creed Origins.

Which aspect of Egypt as a historical setting

was the most difficult to tackle and why?

Having the opportunity to work on an environment

like ancient Egypt is incredible.

For us, it's all about doing the historical research

because most of ancient Egypt is gone today.

Cities have disappeared and the information that we have

is relied on archeology mostly.

And so we work with Historians, we work with Archaeologist,

and the world famous Jacques Guilmain to actually recreate

Egypt.

Jacques Guilmain he's an artist, he's

also an architect, and archaeologist.

And he's drawing all the paintings.

And so he's doing the same process

that we do with concept art and then

he's created exclusive content for us

to recreate cities that were lost,

like Memphis and Alexandria.

So really going into the details of what ancient Egypt was

like back then, then we can recreate that into the game

and adapted it for the purpose of our game

with game play, with the characters, with fiction.

At the point of history in which Bayek is going through,

how notorious were the Medjay?

What allowed people to distinguish whether one

was a Medjay or not?

So at that time in history, Medjay are very old in Egypt.

They've been there for about 2000 years.

First they were a nomadic tribes people, probably

fighters that were integrated as a police force.

Protecting people, protecting the Pharaoh.

By the time of Bayek, however, Medjays

are less popular because they're being replaced

by the Greek rulers police force, which

are called the [INAUDIBLE] Bayek however, is a Medjay from Siwa.

Which is very remote in the desert.

And at that point, [INAUDIBLE] haven't yet replaced them.

But everywhere else in Egypt the term Medjay

is still recognized as a protector, as a police force,

but they are disappearing.

From the new trailer, it looks like Romans

will play a much larger role than I had

expected in a central story.

Without getting too heavily into it, how involved

is the Roman presence in Bayek's journey compared

to the more internal Civil War?

So creating this game is an awesome opportunity for us,

because it is so rich in terms of geopolitical fights

and situations.

Rome is in a state of civil war at that time.

Egypt is also in a state of civil war at that time.

And their history will intertwine at the moment

where Julius Caesar will go to Egypt

to find his arch enemy, who is hiding there, Pompey Magnus.

At the same time, Ptolemy XIII will

kill [INAUDIBLE] Pompeius Magnus and offer his head

to Julius Caesar.

Cleopatra, who is the queen in exile away from her brother

and husband, Ptolemy XIII, will also get intertwined

into that story, will [? back, ?] will find his way.

And also this will create a very big opportunity for us

to craft a story about the creation of the brotherhood,

a story of [INAUDIBLE],, and the [INAUDIBLE] kingdom of Egypt.

Were all weapons appearing in the game actually used

during that time?

In creating this new game, we wanted

to bring a lot of efforts in the fight system.

And so we wanted to offer a vast variety and range of weapons.

So we look into Egyptian weapons like the [INAUDIBLE]

we'll be handling.

We look into Greek and Roman weapons

also because they were present in ancient Egypt.

And then we look at the inspiration from other tribes

that could be around Egypt or societies

that were around that could trade with Egypt.

So we tried to bring some perspective

on weapons that could have made their way into Egypt.

But truthfully, when it comes to all the different weapons

in the game, you see that the historical weapons we have

a description in that sense.

And weapons are more about fun and game play

will be more described in such an instance.

So it will be clear the line between historical weapons

and some of the weapons that are more fantastic and fun to play

with also.

What would you say is this split between historical accuracy

and creativity of the team and why this percentage?

First, there is no percentage that's real.

We have to understand that the way we make these games

is that we take the information, the historical data,

and try to integrate that into the game

that we're going to make.

We have no videos of ancient Egypt, and it's a lost world.

So we try to be very creative about the way

that we interpret that.

So very early on, I remembered that this Egyptologist

[INAUDIBLE] that we worked with, she mentioned that people had

really bad heat because of the sand that was everywhere

in Egypt.

So it was integrated into their food.

So what it means for us is that we

have to think how this will be in the world, how

this will affect the game that we're making.

So maybe it means that there's sand all the time on people's

houses, around their gardens.

So they have to broom that away, for instance.

And maybe it's because they will have sand in their eyes.

So we have to think, animation-wise,

how this is going to be reproduced

because we have actors going to a studio around a green screen.

They have to imagine what is ancient Egypt also.

History is a big puzzle box, and most of the pieces are missing.

And then we have to make a complete picture

to create this game that we are going

to play and to have this whole adventure and narrative.

And so we have to find a good balance between historical data

and then create a vision to make this game live in your hands.

Characters In Thor: Ragnarok Who Mean More Than You Realized - Duration: 5:13.

Marvel isn't just telling a story in their films, they're creating a whole universe.

So if a character makes even the smallest cameo in a movie, chances are there's a lot

more to them than we're seeing on-screen.

Here's a spoiler-filled look at some characters in Thor: Ragnarok with more meaning than you

might've realized.

Valkyrie

Movie fans around the world were thrilled when they learned that the Hulk would be teaming

up with the God of Thunder in Thor: Ragnarok.

But comic book fans were even more excited to see the Hulk team up with the Marvel Cinematic

Universe's newest superheroine, Valkyrie.

That's because Hulk and Valkyrie were friends and teammates for years in the pages of the

classic Marvel series The Defenders, which also featured Doctor Strange and the Sub-Mariner.

While the Defenders name has been poached by Marvel's TV division, seeing Valkyrie,

Hulk, and Doctor Strange in the same movie keeps the dream of a big-screen Defenders

reunion alive, and further opens the door for the eventual appearance of Namor in the

MCU.

Grandmaster

Known across the galaxies as the Grandmaster, En Dwi Gast is more than just a guy who loves

games and bloodsport.

He's also one of the Elders of the Universe, which, in Marvel Comics, is a group of immortal

beings of immense power who are traditionally the guardians of the Infinity Stones.

Like his fellow Elder, the Collector — who was played by Benicio del Toro in Guardians

of the Galaxy — The Grandmaster is likely to make another appearance when Thanos finally

rears his head in Avengers: Infinity War.

Skurge the Executioner

Hela's minion Skurge the Executioner has a long and curious history in the comics.

A longtime villain and adversary to Thor, Skurge eventually redeemed himself in an epic

storyline, where he held off the armies of Hell armed with a pair of machine guns in

order to save Thor and a group of innocent mortals fleeing from Hela.

That part made it into the film.

But for most of his existence, it wasn't Hela that Skurge was associated with, but rather

his one true love, the immortal Asgardian sorceress known as the Enchantress.

Both an enemy and occasional ally of Thor, the Enchantress is arguably the most important

character from Thor comics who hasn't yet appeared in the MCU.

The appearance of Skurge in Thor: Ragnarok suggests that might be on the verge of finally

changing.

Korg

The rocklike Korg belongs to a species that has actually been teased twice before in the

MCU, first in Thor: The Dark World, and then again in a quick Easter egg in Guardians of

the Galaxy Vol. 2.

And the character contains another secret, as the CGI-created gladiator was played by

Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi himself.

But the real Easter egg behind Korg is a deep cut from the very dawn of Marvel Comics: he's

part of the alien race originally known as the "Stone Men from Saturn," who Thor fought

in his very first comic book appearance in 1962's Journey into Mystery #83.

In fact, in the comics, Korg himself is one of the very alien invaders Thor battled in

his origin story.

How cool is that?

Miek

Poor little Miek is played purely for comic relief in Thor: Ragnarok, but in the comics

he's a much darker figure.

A lot of the plot of Thor: Ragnarok is borrowed from the "Planet Hulk" comic book story, in

which Hulk leads a band of fellow gladiators on the planet Sakaar in a revolution.

Hulk then becomes ruler of the planet, which is where things take a sinister turn for Miek.

Unsatisfied with the new peace Hulk has ushered in, Miek is complicit in a plot that leads

to the death of Hulk's wife and child, sending Hulk on a vengeful rampage across the galaxy.

It's only later that Hulk discovers the base treachery of his supposed friend.

He doesn't seem so cute and goofy now, does he?

Topaz

The Grandmaster's right-hand woman originally wasn't even a Marvel character at all.

Instead, she was created at Malibu Comics as Queen Topaz, the ruler of a race of alien

amazons.

Eventually she ended up as a superhero on Earth.

After Marvel bought Malibu and folded some of its characters into the Marvel Universe,

she was summoned by the Grandmaster to be a pawn in a contest with Loki, losing a fight

against Crystal and Black Widow of the Avengers.

Topaz is the first Malibu character to make it into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, opening

the door for characters like Hardcase, Firearm, and Prime to potentially make the jump to

the big screen as well.

Beta Ray Bill

Eagle-eyed observers may have noticed that one of the busts adorning the outside of the

Grandmaster's tower is none other than Beta Ray Bill himself.

Who's that, you ask?

Well, you know that inscription on Thor's hammer that says whoever is worthy can lift

the hammer and gain the power of Thor?

In the comics, Beta Ray Bill shocked Thor and fans alike, by proving himself worthy

and lifting the hammer.

He became as powerful as Thor himself, and earned the Thunder God's trust as his sworn

brother from an alien mother.

Beta Ray Bill has been a fan-favorite ever since he first debuted in the early '80s,

so the fact that the film acknowledged his existence is enough to send hardcore Thor

fans over the moon.

It means that somewhere out there in the MCU, Beta Ray Bill exists.

Now it's just a matter of actually putting him into a movie, instead of just a statue

of his head.

Mystery Behind Letter X On Your Palms Only 3% People In The World Have It - Duration: 4:44.

Mystery Behind Letter X On Your Palms (Only 3% People In The World Have It).

Palmistry- What does Letter X symbolize?

Based on the ancient knowledge of palmistry, we know how the palm lines and symbols are

associated with our personalities and future prospects in terms of career, life, marriage,

money and health.

Ancient books on palmistry

This popular ancient practice of foretelling the future through the study of the palm,

has its roots traced back to Indian (Hindu-Vedic) astrology.

Based on several scriptures around the world, its been deduced that several thousand years

ago, Hindu sage Valmiki authored a book containing 567 verses.

Origin of palm reading

It is believed that from India, the knowledge and practice of palmistry sprawled across

the world, through China, Tibet, Egypt, Persia and to several other countries in Europe.

Greek astrology

It is also said that it was Greece scholar Anaxagoras, who, during his time around the

Indian sub-continent learned about Palmistry and later shared the knowledge with Hermes.

Secrets of Alexander The Great

Aristotle found the treatise regarding the matter of palmistry at one of Hermes altars,

which he then displayed to Alexander the Great.

The latter took great interest and began inspecting the character of his officers by evaluating

the lines on their palms.

Hearsay

Though there is no affirming evidence of the same, but some say that Alexander deeply studied

his own palms and strategized his life accordingly; and no one had the markings, lines and symbols

like his palms.

Letter X on palms

Egyptian scholars suggest that Alexander The Great, had this unique marking on his palm,

which was rarely found in anyone else in the world.

Of late, only 3% of the entire population claimed to have the exact same marking- Letter

X.

Research study on palmistry

In order to determine the credibility of this claim the STI University from Moscow, recently

conducted a research and revealed a paper on the subject of the letter X on the palms

and its potential connection to the destiny of the people who have it.

Sign of a great leader

The University took collected and analysed the data of over 2 million people, both living

and dead; and concluded that people, who had letter X on both palms, were either leaders

or highly popular individuals in the society, remembered for great things.

People who have/or had Letter X on their palms

Of the rare individuals, who had this marking, were great Greek Emperor Alexander The Great,

President Abraham Lincoln.

And, one of these people is still alive and is hard to ignore- Russian president Vladimir

Putin.

Legacy

Those who have Letter X in both their palms, go on to be remembered for ages even after

their death.

And, the ones who have it only in one of their palm go on to be extremely successful and

famous individuals.

Personality traits of people with X on their palm

These people have certain unique personality traits that differentiate them from everyone

else.

#1.

These people have great sixth sense or intuition.

The can sense, danger, infidelity, and disloyalty from a hands distance.

Over the time they form a special energy cycle around them, which people around them simply

cannot intrude.

#2.

Trying lying to them, and theyll unleash the worst ever side of themselves.

They might forgive, but theyll never forget.

Nothing or no one can bring them any harm; such is the power of their luck.

Guess who's birthday - Celebrating with a spectacular sunrise at the beach - Campervan Tubi - Duration: 10:05.

Good morning everyone!

Last night the weather was a bit overcast.

And from dawn it started raining again.

You can see

It's raining outside.

So...

We're having breakfast inside.

We always have the same thing on the last day.

It's instant beef bone soup noodles.

It's maybe our tradition?

So we're having soup and kimchi.

And some hot tea.

I finished my noodles. But...

I made the wrong choice.

I got the small one.

The small size.

And Mark has the large size.

I regret buying the small one.

So...

I'm eating chips but I'm still hungry.

Ah! Today is

is

my birthday!

Yeah!

I got messages from my friends this morning.

They were wishing me happy birthday.

And I thought, yup, I'm one year older.

And for my birthday..

I ate the wrongs sized noodles and I'm hungry.

And the chips are all gone.

I'll have to find some more.

I think we don't have any left.

MARK: Kettle corn.

Popcorn?

MARK: Bread?

It burns!

Really?

You did it on purpose!

My Tea...

Mark spilled it all over the place.

It's so hot!

You did it on purpose right?

I'm pretty sure you did it on purpose.

That's Mark causing trouble.

Oh... right!

I have something to show you.

Seagulls.

I can't see them.

Here.

There's a bunch of them.

People think Busan (my hometown) when they see seagulls.

But there aren't many in Busan.

Even in Haeundae beach there are way more pigeons.

And no seagulls these days.

If you go camping

Don't make the mistake of getting s small size noodle

like I did.

Always choose large!

Anyways...

Need to clean up the mess that Mark made.

He left if for me to clean up.

So have tor clean up.

If you watched our build videos

you probably recognize it.

There is not house battery in Tubi.

So temporarily

From before

We brought the battery bank

we used while building Tubi.

To use.

But this is a 12 amp hour batter.

It can only charge our 2 DJI Spark batteries twice.

So it's really not enough power.

So anyways our plan is

to build a DIY portable solar power bank.

But we are going to use a bigger battery

than we had originally planned on using.

Anyways...

This battery is charging everything now.

A power bank

the Canon camera battery

a GoPro

and a phone battery.

But we have more things that need to charge.

So normally I use the Canon to vlog with.

But the battery is charging.

So this is the Panasonic Lumix lx10

that I'm vlogging with now.

I probably look a little closer right?

And the built in mic

isn't as nice as the Canon.

So it's probably picking up a lot of wind noise.

Guys, it's raining a lot now.

So today

We'll be heading back to Busan.

We are keeping an eye on the weather.

If it doesn't improve

we'll have to pack up and head home.

That'll be a let down..

This was really just a test trip for Tubi.

We wanted to see

what needs to be fixed or improved.

But still... the trip feels too short.

When we build Tubi, I was still working.

so

The design focus was always to build

a weekend campervan.

We can't travel too long.

But if we build a bigger battery bank

And have more power

I think travelling for a week or more won't be an issue.

Of course we will need to empty

and refill the tanks along the way.

But after traveling along the East coast

I see that it's easier to find places than

I thought it would be.

So

in the future I want to travel

for a longer period.

It's a bit disappointing that the weather's been so bad.

And today it's raining again.

So staying inside for today.

But inside

even though it's so windy and rainy outside

inside it's warm and really cozy.

It's hard to show you but that how it feels.

I'm going to wait out the weather a little more.

Lucy weathercaster reporting.

Guys

So I tried to wait for the rain to stop.

I was hoping to fly the drone

and show you some nice weather.

But you can see

The weather is still bad.

It's still raining on us.

So we're going to end here

and head back to Busan.

It's unfortunate.

This is Mangnyang Beach.

If you look over there...

There's a gazebo down there.

There are also bathroom and shower facilities.

And all long here is the beach.

On this side where the gravel is

is where we camped.

If the weather was a little bit better

We could have shown you a beautiful beach

and some lovely overhead views with the drone

A little disappointed.

I waited as long as I could

but the weather isn't changing.

It looks dark, really dark.

It's disappointing, really disappointing.

But we'll have a chance to camp again soon.

Anyways, dealing with bad weather is a part of life.

But that makes life interesting.

That's what I think.

Well.. that's it for now

Even though I don't want to leave.

We'll end Tubi's trial camping trip.

And head home.

Okay, bye!

Bye Tubi!

Treatment of Diarrhea & Dehydration in Dairy & Beef Calves (Part 3 of 3) - Duration: 3:15.

Thank you for viewing this final segment in Jaguar Health's video series

on diarrhea and dehydration in calves.

In this video, I discuss important steps you can take

to prevent diarrhea on your beef or dairy farm.

The morbidity and mortality resulting from calf diarrhea are well documented.

Calves that have serious episodes of diarrhea

can be negatively affected for the rest of their lives.

Regardless of the cause of diarrhea, action should be taken quickly.

The progression of diarrhea can be rapid and affect multiple animals.

Since various pathogens can cause diarrhea in calves, laboratory testing is necessary

for accurate diagnosis of the problem.

Your veterinarian can run the diagnostic tests to precisely identify the pathogen

and decide on the best intervention strategies.

Many producers do not record data regarding diarrhea events,

or any intervention associated with diarrhea.

Keeping track of this data, along with other treatment records, will keep calf diarrhea

top of mind and likely lead to a better understanding of the prevention, treatment,

and long-term consequences of the condition.

When diarrhea occurs, the two cornerstones of therapy are

maintaining hydration and treating underlying infections.

The combination of decreased fluid intake and increasing fluid loss

can rapidly lead to dehydration.

Therefore, fluids and electrolytes should be replaced.

There are many anti-diarrheal products on the market.

Most of these are available over the counter, which means

you do not need a prescription to buy them.

It is always recommended to consult your veterinarian about the practice to manage calf diarrhea.

The economic effects of diarrhea include, early death, decreased weight gain,

delayed weaning, and consequently, decreased lifetime milk production.

Diarrhea has significant negative effects not only on the performance of the herd,

but it also increases labor and care-related expenses.

Thank you for viewing this final video in Jaguar Health's video series

on diarrhea and dehydration in calves.

I hope the information I've provided is helpful to you and any calves in your care.

Please be sure to consult your veterinarian

whenever you are involved in the prevention, diagnosis or treatment of calf diarrhea.
