We're going down to the level to learn about the history of Inland Southern California.

I'm diving into the tent to hide from Brother.

Lastly, we're playing with the giant maze.

We had so much fun at the San Bernardino County Museum.

Our next stop is the Historical Glass Museum.

Say hi to Cousin.

This museum features 4,300 pieces of American glass from the 1830's to the present.

This one here is my favorite because it looks nice.

[Brother] I like this one because that has a hat.

This one resembles a mushroom.

Lastly we're visiting the gift shop. Don't break anything, Brother.

Our next stop is Orange Street Alley.

This walkway features the multiple murals under colorful umbrellas that serves as a canopy.

Now we're getting some dessert at A La Minute Ice Cream.

This place makes small batches of ice cream using farm-fresh ingredients and liquid nitrogen.

They're making our ice cream in front of our eyes.

[Brother] I'm having the Cookie Monster. Woo.

Bother gives it his signature thumbs up.

And here comes the rest of our ice cream.

[I'm having the chocolate lavender ice cream.

[Cousin] I got chocolate orange. This is a combination of two of my favorite flavors.

We had a delicious time at A La Minute.

Our next up is the Lincoln Memorial Shrine.

This is the only museum west of the Mississippi dedicated to Abraham Lincoln and the Civil War.

Founded by Robert Watchorn in 1932, this place showcases collections of manuscripts and artifacts.

I'm learning about the life of the 16th President.

There are many interesting items here including a Confederate $20 bill.

Is that cracker from the 1800s still edible?

Lastly we're playing with Morse code.

We had an educational time here.

Our next stop is the AK Smiley Public Library.

The 120 year old Moorish Revival style library founded by philanthropist twin brothers

has oak arches spanning the soaring ceilings and hand-carved gargoyles.

Our next up is Kimberly Crest House and Gardens.

We're going on a tour up this 7,000 square foot petite Chateau with pristine grounds

Unfortunately photography is not allowed in the mansion.

Our last stop is Open Door Escape Games.

We're playing a 30-minute escape room for kids called Pillow Palace.

First the staff is teaching us some rules and tips and then showing us how to open the locks.

They wished us luck and the game begins.

Let's go look for clues. Oh there's a piece of paper here.

We have to activate the portal.

Brother spotted a pile of blankets.

Cousin go hang the blanket up to the hook.

Come on guys, let's come into the portal.

Um, I don't think this is working.

Maybe we have to use all the blankets.

Hopefully we got it right this time.

Yes, we got it! The portal open and we're crawling through.

We're now in the second room and we have less than 25 minutes remaining.

Come on guys, let's search for more clues.

Cousin you look over there.

And Brother, you...

[Lamb King] Welcome boys and girls to my beautiful Pillow Palace.

[Lamb King] But I've summoned you here to help restore the Pillow Kingdom.

[Lamb King] Unfortunately, the pillow people are angry and trapped us in my throne room

[Lamb King] and have it locked away the three keys to true peace.

[Lamb King] Please find all three of the keys and put them in their locks and that Pillow Kingdom will be restored.

[Lamb King] But hurry, if you don't complete it in time, we'll be locked away in this palace forever.

We found a decoder and a bunch of letters.

Cousin thinks he had unscrambled the word.

[Lamb King] I think maybe you spelled that wrong. Maybe?

We have to hurry!

I can't get this to unlock!

[Cousin] Oh no! We're running out of time!

[Brother] Maybe we should ask for a clue.

[Lamb King] Did you notice the letters...on the pillows?

[Cousin] Hey, I opened a lock!

Ooh, a key!

And we solved the second puzzle.

One more to go.

[Cousin] This is a giant key.

We found all three keys now, we're gonna put it in the lock.

[Brother] I'm so scary.

Oh woah!

[Cousin] I got it. This is the key to the exit.

[Brother] Look, it's a Bible.

You're right. It is a Bible. How cool.

[Lamb King] Oh my. Well done, my faithful friends.

As a token of my gratitude, here's the key for you to return home.

That was a close one. We had less than four minutes left.

We had so much fun at Pillow Palace.

[Cousin] My favorite part was going through the portal.

[Brother] Me too.

DIY Buffalo Plaid Mason Jars | Rustic & Farmhouse Vibes for Autum - HGTV Handmade - Duration: 6:40.

Hi everyone, welcome back to Handmade with me, Karen.

So a craft that I've been seeing all over the internet are these buffalo plaid mason

jars.

Buffalo plaid is super trendy right now, and I love the juxtaposition of putting a soft

fabric pattern onto something solid like a glass jar.

So today I'm going to show you how to do it, let's get into it.

So obviously you'll want to start with glass jars.

Give them two coats of spray paint as a base.

Then use acrylic paint to paint them whatever color you like.

I did spray paint first because it meant I only had to do two coats of the acrylic paint

to get a totally opaque coverage.

And, since you can mix acrylic paint but you can't really mix spray paint, doing it this

way gives you more options for what color to paint your bottles.

I'm going with a warm off-white color so that it's not quite as stark as the white

spray paint.

Next we're going to start taping off vertical stripes with washi tape.

Here's a little trick - add your first stripe and then use another piece of tape to space

out your second stripe.

Keep doing that all the way around the jar, reusing your spacing tape each time.

We're going to be using a lot of tape in this project, so make sure it's a washi

tape you don't really like or if you don't have washi tape, you could use painters tape.

Now mix up your first color.

You want this to be fairly light - I'm mixing my same off-white color with some blue and

some black to get a light grayish-blue.

Then start painting your stripes.

And, since we're doing both horizontal and vertical stripes of the same color, make sure

that you mix enough of your paint to do both of them, since you're never quite going

to mix the exact same color twice.

Once you're done painting, pull off all of the tape while the paint is still wet and

let it dry completely.

Now, if the top of the bottle curves up like this one does, you can freehand the stripes

getting smaller the further up the bottle they go.

And here's a little trick.

After you're done painting your vertical stripes, put some plastic wrap over your paint

so that you can keep it fresh until the paint is dry and you're ready to paint your horizontal

stripes.

Once the horizontal stripes are dry, you'll want to put back on the tape to mask off just

the parts where the stripes intersect.

I will admit, all of the taping in this project does get a little tedious, but once you've

done it, the painting itself goes really quickly and you end up with nice crisp lines.

Don't worry if the tape peels off a little bit of the paint, I think that just adds to

the farmhouse vibes we're going for.

So after all of the paint is dry, you can grab some sandpaper and distress it even more

if you want the full-on rustic look.

I think this looks especially nice on the raised text of the mason jar.

Then just grab some twine and wrap it around the top of the jar for the finishing touch.

These farmhouse plaid jars are perfect for autumn, but they're neutral enough that

I honestly think they could work for any season by just replacing the flowers you have on

display.

And don't be afraid to experiment and try different colors - for this wine bottle I

did a classic red plaid, which I think will make a perfect Christmas decoration.

So I'd love to know how you're decorating for Thanksgiving or already into Christmas.

I try to wait until at least after Halloween to decorate for Christmas, but sometimes I

just can't help myself.
