Blessings & Curses of Cochlear Implant Nucleus 6 - Duration: 7:24.
Hey everybody
Welcome to another video of
blessings :wind chime:
and curses :rocks hitting metal:
of Cochlear Implant
or to be specific, nucleus 6 which is the version I'm wearing right now
Blessing number one
it's so small and light, it's fantastic on my ear
it doesn't hurt
Curse
it's so freaking light
that even with my hair pulled over the magnet
I almost lost it at the trampoline gym
so that's what's snugfit is for
Blessing
snugfit helps tremendously
especially if you're doing front flips, back flips
twisty flips or whatever you're doing
it's freaking awesome it will make it stay :laughing:

I don't know what it is but it just makes my ear ache within minutes
of putting it on it, it sucks
Why?
Why does it hurt?

smart scan program AKA every day program
it's amazing hearing program
because it can adjust
the volumes accordingly to the environment
it's awesome

smart scan works works way too well
and this situation happened to me
I was in a slightly noisy environment
and this program turned all of the volumes down that I have to strain to hear you
to where I have to fall back on lip reading because
it doesn't work
I can't hear you

on top of smart scan, you can have up to three
programs of your choice installed
(singing) A-Maz-Ing!
Curse
There are so many programs like so many
Just trying to figure out what programs fit your needs exactly
90% of the time, it works marvelously
but the other 10%, you just ask "Why do I even bother?"
Why?
Some of them just don't work
Especially
if smart scan just screws up this like in noisy environment
Guess what?
The other programs can't help you there either
Why? Why?

It's so easy to hide my cochlear implant under my hair
This is why I have long hair

if you're not careful, it will give you hair bumps

you can choose any color you want for this cochlear implant

you have what? Four or five colors to choose from
That's it
and because it's a high gloss, so every oil and dirt shows up too
and I'll show you the evidence

to get around the limitations in colors
you can buy skins for it
and I believe it's a clip-on
If not, I really apologize
but it looks like it's a clip-on
Curse
if you want those skins
it counts as an accessory
and in United States, we get two accessories per cochlear implant
so...
Yeah
and if you don't want to get it as an accessory, you can later on buy it
but it cost about
this much
just an FYI
Even after all the blessings and curses of this N6
to tell you truth, I'm
glad that I have this cochlear implant because
it's such a vast improvement from my old processor
to this new one
and I cannot wait to see the newer version and see what it holds for me like
What kind of sound range will I have?
What kind of sounds will I be discovering?
And will it be even lighter?
Even if it gets lighter, then dear Lord
That means I'm gonna lose it, it's going fly away from my ear so...
Oh, the
improvement that I'm looking forward to
is the battery life
The battery that I have is about ten hours
and those shorter ones that like
compact
I believe that's what it's called: compact battery
they last about like six hours
However the program I use
uses a lot of power so technically
the battery is supposed to last for ten hours
but in reality, eight
What can I say?
I'm needy
