I went out with my sister and my mother

I thought it was the best timing to tell you guys

The biggest reason why all Koreans are.....

DYING?!

Not even kidding....

From a few days ago

I'm getting a lot of government warning messages

I don't know how you say this type of messages in English

but in Korean we say "jaenan moonja"

and "jaenan" means disaster

or catastrophe. Catastrophe(unsure about pronunciation)

and "moonja" is a message

so whenever there's something important or something dangerous happening

the government send us the warning messages

and lately Koreans are getting a lot of messages

about the air pollution! Yes great!

so it's basically telling us that we should stay home possibly

and if you have to go out,

wear the mask

but do you know what the problem is here?

You can't actually use the regular mask that you might think

You should wear the mask that can filter the fine dust

Those type of masks usually costs like 3 dollars to 10 dollars, or even more

and surprisingly those are disposable

so it means only one-time use!

I personally bought in bulk and I'm sharing masks with my family

there is actually one more thing that I want to show you

This is the air purifier

Must-have gadget nowadays in Korea!

I have this in my room

and there's the better one in the living room

it costs a lot but you know it's like...

it's directly connected to your health I mean.... The air!

So what can I do? I just bought it

When it's the green like this it means it's fine to breathe

But when it's the red, just like this it means um..........

Just die..... :D

so right now we are so ready to go out

and yes I'm wearing the mask

Today we're planning to buy the air purifier filter

and going to bowling!

let's go out and breathe fine dust!

I want to buy the air purifier which can be used in the cars

Just checking the air condition with the app and oh yes!

It says never go out GREAT!

I don't know if you can tell or not

but the sky is very grayish and blurry

It's not because of the cloud or anything else

We can't see the sky because of the fine dust in the air

I hate wearing the mask because

But I couldn't buy it because it was out of stock!

I just got the information that it costs around like $60

and I need to come back here a few days later

Most of fine dust is not only because of Korea

it's also because of our neighbor country, we all know, is China

But I'm not accusing that this is 100% their fault

I'm not saying that

I think this find dust is the problem for all of us

So many factories from all the countries are in China

and that's the reason why China has lots of factories make fine dust

you know everything is basically made in China

Just like something that I showed you earlier

so I really think this is a global problem

Really sadly Korea stays right next to China

so we are suffering from the fine dust problem

a lot more than the other countries

If you see this you can see the fine dust is coming from

China to Korea with the wind

I can't really believe people saying that

Korea's fine dust is only because of Korea

NO

Before this problem becomes the worldwide problem

we all need to try harder to save the ..... planet!!

So when you know this is the state of human mind,

you must know what to do and what not to do (Laughs).

It is not…

It is not a question of morality.

It's a question of what kind of life do you want to craft for yourself.

It's about that.

Is it a morality?

Is it that nobody should get into anything,

or everybody should get into something –

there's no such thing.

What kind of life are you wanting to craft for yourself?

A kind of life

where your relationships mean really binding yourself

in such a way that

truly you can depend on yourself,

or it's like visiting restaurants every day

you want to taste something new and see.

But you could get very unhealthy with that.

There are some people who stick to their home food,

though it tastes about the same every day.

But those people are generally healthy, isn't it?

(Laughs)?

This is not…

I am not trying to teach you a moral class,

I am not a moral class person,

but these kind of things are happening in the society

– people are trying to draw prescriptions,

"Everybody must do this, otherwise you are no good!"

Or, "Everybody should not do it

otherwise you are no good!"

No, that's not the way.

There was a time,

in this culture and in every culture,

by the time a girl is fifteen or sixteen, she was married.

By the time a boy is seventeen or eighteen,

he was married.

Now, because of our education systems

and professional requirements,

and society has changed,

everything has changed,

because of that,

average marriage age for girls is around

twenty-four in this country, right now.

And for boys, it's crossing twenty-eight, thirty.

The peak of hormonal impact on human life is somewhere between fifteen to thirty.

After that it's not the same thing.

So, this is at least something we must debate,

but we should not be hasty to draw a conclusion,

"This is the way, that is the way."

We must give enough awareness to people

that they don't get into something compulsively,

which they regret later.

If consciously, if people see that

"This is the way I want to craft my life,"

that's up to the individual,

but there is no common prescription.

There should never be a common prescription.

Because individual requirements are very different.

Moderator: Sadhguru, my next question for you is,

why can't one husband be with multiple women,

and one woman or a wife can be with multiple husband

in today's society among consenting adults?

And what impact do these people have

when they involve in such relationships?

Sadhguru: Well, there are many aspects…

Historically you know there has been a Draupadi

who had five husbands, all right?

There is…

This has been a matriarchal society

where in many parts of the country

- even today in some parts of the country,

it's still practiced that

five brothers are married to one woman.

These things were done at a certain time

when the social situations were such,

or men were married to many more…

I mean more than one woman,

this was mainly because

men died more often than women.

Today both men and women are outside,

both may get killed,

that's different but at that time,

largely woman stayed home

because she was continuously pregnant.

From the age of fourteen to forty-five, fifty

she's almost all the time

either she's pregnant or she has a young child.

This is how life used to be.

So because of that, she stayed home and

she took care of the property and the agriculture and stuff.

Man went out to do business,

or for war, or for something else he went out.

So men always died more often.

So generally in most societies in the past,

the number of men was much less than

the number of women – always.

This has been the state all across the world.

So, naturally when so many women were there,

they needed care and they needed support in the society,

and those days a woman could not exist by herself

unless she's protected by a male partner,

it would be very difficult for her to exist by herself

because she would be exploited in so many different ways.

So, always they attached themselves,

so naturally a man ended up having two, three women

because the population ratio was like that.

But now largely it's leveled out.

If some individual does it, it's not a issue.

But if that becomes a social norm,

then how do you decide

somebody has whatever, multiple wives,

and how do you decide somebody has no wife?

This will become a social,

you know, collision, it will become.

It'll become lot of problems in the society,

because we may act civilized

- I'm…

I'm very particular,

I'm very clear about saying "we act civilized,"

but when we are denied basic things that we need,

all our civilization evaporates and

we will behave… behave like animals.

Yes or no?

Participants: Yes!

Sadhguru: So, when fundamentals are denied

people will go clashing,

so that's not going to work in today's world.

And above all,

the woman's condition will become very bad.

Those days there was no dearth,

if you had land it was okay,

you had five wives it doesn't matter,

you had twenty-five acres it was good enough,

everybody ate well and that's about it.

But today our requirements are not just about eating,

it's about many things.

So that kind of thing will lead to

lot of complicated situations in the society.

It's better to stick one on one,

and

anyway forever people have been doing their own things

beyond the legal relationships,

things have been happening in the societies.

That involves a certain risk,

somebody who is willing to take that risk,

that's for them,

but others will live within the legal format,

it's a balanced society.

If you are asking this question in a more existential way

– well… see,

this (Referring to oneself)...

this is a certain framework

of… not just of bone, and muscle, and flesh,

there is a certain energy framework,

only because of that, it takes in a certain form.

See, if you eat mangoes every day

and let's say a cow eats mangoes every day,

at some point will you or the cow get confused

whether you're a cow or a human being?

Or will the cow get confused?

Such a thing never happens

because there is a clear cut inner framework

to which flesh and blood is added,

but there is a framework,

an evolutionary memory framework is there,

it never gets broken, isn't it?

So, in this framework…

how strong you keep this framework,

how much integrity is there to this energy framework

will determine many things about your life,

many aspects of your life.

Especially if you want to

raise this life to another level of function,

it's very important you maintain this integrity.

This is why irrespective of which religion, which spiritual process,

if people want to raise themselves to a certain point,

first thing they will talk about is becoming monks

or bramacharis or sanyasis,

because the idea is to create such a level of integrity that

this is a whole life by itself

that it doesn't lean on anything else for support.

Either for physical well-being,

or emotional well-being,

or psychological companionship,

it doesn't lean on anything,

it stands by itself

because you want to take it somewhere else.

If you want normal function,

these things are not necessary.

Now, you want to become a rocket,

which breaks through a certain dimension of space,

now you need to be in a different level of force and integrity,

otherwise it will crack up.

So, you don't want to open your body to anything,

and especially opening to multiple partners has its own negativity in that context.

How much pain and.. you look at Draupadi's life,

how much volatility, how much pain,

how much suffering

she went through in her life, and

how much pain and suffering she caused

because of her anger, and jealousy, and whatever else.

So, these things happen for a variety of reasons,

you can't blame everything on that one aspect,

but that aspect also has a… a say in these aspects

because you are opening up your memory body,

your energy… energetic body

which is essentially ruled by memory to variety of memories

– this will cause a whole lot of turmoil within the system

which could affect

that life and many other lives.

So, Draupadi's life is in a way a sample for that.

It's not an absolute... this is not an absolute,

but this has an influence.

hi thanks for joining me this is angie at chicnscratch this is the project

we're making today it's a cute little Valentine box okay let me tell you the

supplies lovely lipstick it measures eleven by three and a

quarter another piece of lovely lipstick that measures five by three and three

eighths and then another piece that's three by three for this circle right

here okay that circle and then we've got all my love designer series paper this

measures three by four and a half and then a piece of whisper white that is

three by three and then we need another piece that measures three by a half an

inch and I'll get that in just a minute okay so what we're gonna do is score our

box oh there it is three by half an inch it just fell over

okay so I'm gonna place this on the simply scored scoring tool and I'm gonna

score it on the eleven inch side at four and three-quarters and six and a quarter

and then I'm going to take the five by three and three eighths and I'm going to

score that one at one inch on all four sides okay so let's go back to our

container here we're just going to fold on the two score lines just like that

next what we're gonna do is add the designer series paper to the front right

there okay so I'm just going to turn that over and put some snail on it make

sure you place it with the hearts going right side up now what we're going to do

is get the big shot out and you know what let's get the big shot just once so

let's go ahead and stamp our image that way we only have to get the big shot one

time so I'm gonna take the skunk from the hey love stamp set and come up and

just stamp him right in the middle

and while we're stamping let's just go ahead and stamp the greeting and this

piece right here can actually measure any amount because we're using it with

the classic label punch so it can be any size scrap okay I'm going to slide

everything over and grab the big shot okay so here's peg shot magnetic pop on

the cutting pad let's go ahead and cut out our stitched circle with the lovely

lipstick now we're going to cut out the skunk okay now for the handle on our

container we're going to do the front side first so we're just going to place

that right up here at the top and try to make sure that you Center it and then

now I'm going to show you my little tip for getting the backside lined up so

what I'm going to do is take this piece that was just cut out put a teeny tiny

little tiny amount of glue or adhesive on there and then what I'm going to do

is line this up just like that and attach it and then now that shows me

exactly where to cut the next one okay

okay so here's that's trash this is my frame wet and then now there's that part

okay so let's set that aside let's get our image back over here okay let's work

on the inside box so I'm going to fold this on all the score lines get my bone

folder so that I have nice crisp edges

now I'm going to cut up to the score line on both of these sides so remember

back when I'm going to just trim the edges and then snip off about a quarter

of an inch so I think a couple weeks ago I said that I'm going to be making some

of my favorite projects or remaking some of them using current product this is

one of my go-to projects like I think that no matter what occasion it's always

so cute and it'll hold a nice sized amount okay we're going to place tear

and tape on those four tabs

okay I'm going to take my paper piercer and peel off the backing while I'm doing

that I'm just gonna talk for a second so on Friday I told everybody that I was

going dark I was going to turn all the screens off and I was gonna go

downstairs and create projects for hours I did but it took me like four hours to

create two projects this was one of them so I kind of felt like my mojo was

missing but then this morning I actually came and created another project and it

only took me like 30 minutes so maybe my mojo is back okay now I'm

gonna open up this section here and I'm gonna put a strip of tear and tape well

come on here we go and I'm going to Center the box inside

there I hope I have not had my head or my hair in the camera this whole time

I'm kind of afraid I might've ok so just bring up the top and there's your box

okay I'm gonna take the lovely lipstick this is what's it called it's called all

my love ribbon combo it's in the occasions catalog and I do believe it's

on back order right now of course I said the other day all of my favorites on

back order but it should be back in stock yes I'm using the Strand or a

thread of the flax ribbon I'm going to tie a bow up here at the top I have too

long of a strand but it's okay I'd rather have too long than too short

okay just straighten this up I can use that other piece for something else okay

so there's that part now we're going to color him with light and dark smoky

slate so I may or may not fast forward this it just depends really on how long

it takes me to color

now I know his face looks really dark but I'm going to be using the color

lifter in just a minute

okay I'm just gonna lift a little bit of color out of his face not a lot just a

tad and now I'm gonna take the light smoky slate you could use your light

basic black for me I just thought it was a little I don't know too dark so I'm

going to color its nose with what is this dark a lovely lipstick and then I'm

going to color these hearts don't forget there's a free pdf over on my website

that has the measurements and a a picture okay now we're going to take the

epoxy heart heart epoxy droplets I do have the insert over on my website now

so I'll be sure to link to that so that you can put it inside your case I need

to print my own Dona okay so I've got one heart here actually I like to use

the brush tip and then I'm going to use one of the medium and then one of the

small I need to order some more of these I'm gonna take my light smoky slate

stamping bland and just color a little bit down there at the bottom to ground

him okay now look at our circles so this first

one's going to go up here at the top and I'm just going to use my regular snail

adhesive you want to put that in the center and then I'm going to attach him

with dimensionals but I'm gonna first add these hearts and the reason is

because if I were to mess up for some reason I could start over

okay next we're taking the wink of Stella we're just going to give him a

little color in his stomach it may be hard to see here but it looks really

cute in person now we're going to take a couple dimensionals and we've still got

the greeting here so don't go anywhere just yet and that's so cute

okay now we're going to take the classic label punch and cut this out this this

little image right here is exactly what took me forever to create this project

the other day I was having a hard time figuring out where exactly to place it

like I was like up here over here down here over here I went all over the place

ultimately I just decided to attach it right to the bottom but you could put it

anywhere like someone did ask me on my website how to figure out where to place

it that is the million dollar question right it actually it looks pretty good

right there too but for some reason I just like attaching it right there and

it's quick and easy because I can use a couple glue dots and hang it right off

the off the edge of the circle but you if you make it place it wherever you

want or you could use and see I only put one glue dot so let me go back to that

your other option is you could just add it using okay it's attached really well

now it looks like it's coming off but it's not because it's attached with a

glue dot but what I was saying is you could use a couple of mini dimensionals

and attach it to the container there okay here's the one I created on Friday

and here's the one we just made super cute right I love it

Chinese New Year Lunches for your PlanetBox (Vegetarian and Vegan Friendly) - Duration: 5:29.

hey everyone it's Melissa here it is a rainy gloomy day here in Los Angeles and

I thought it would be a fun opportunity to talk about Chinese New Year which is

coming up at the end of January Chinese New Year was like always a thing in my

childhood my family loves Chinese food we love dim sum we love exotic fruits

and vegetables and if you've followed me for any period of time you've seen that

I stick a lot of exotic fruits and vegetables into my lunch boxes so I went

to the store today and I wanted to share a haul of groceries that I picked up in

preparation for the holiday along with a few cute little things that are very

much bound for the lunchbox I spent just over a hundred dollars it was a hundred

and seventeen dollars dominated by coffee and I actually spent almost

seventy dollars on coffee that means that the rest of these groceries were

not quite fifty dollars and I was restocking a few staple items like ponzu

sauce which we use for dumplings but I was also really going to shop for things

like special fruits I got some candied ginger today and then a couple of really

Chinese New Year oriented items the markets are full of all of the beautiful

things for the holiday all kinds of candied and dried fruits beautiful gift

baskets rice cookies rice cakes in the shape of giant golden carps and then all

of the fruits so I wanted to talk about Chinese New Year as an opportunity not

to be driven by the protein for your meal but really to drive the fruits and

veggies that your family might enjoy or might like to try for the first time the

first in this category are citrus fruits here I bought two different types of

beautiful pomelos and a tangelo I didn't get them today because they

didn't look great but kumquats kumquats are so beautiful they're those little

tiny miniature oranges that you eat whole with the sweet skin and the sour

insides and kumquats in addition to these beautiful citrus fruits would make

a great item to put into your lunch box pomelos you take them completely out of

the skin and the pith like a supreme and I let

children peel these so these are both a food and an activity the other amazing

fruit that I picked up at the Asian market today are these apples that

clearly were grown with some sort of sticker on them Asian pears, gorgeous

imported apples, I'm normally not the biggest fan of buying expensive imported

fruits but these few items I thought were very special for my family

next up Chinese vegetables this you may have seen on my grocery hauls before but

this is a Chinese or Taiwanese cauliflower

it's a crazy little afro this is just a partial one as you can see it was cut in

half I've bought them bigger these are really nice for my family because

they're very flavorful and they have a lot of stem and the stem part is what my

kids typically like the best I also love buying bananas at the ethnic

markets these were on a good price and I did splurge on a Mexican honeydew here

for color down here are my other Asian vegetables

I got snow peas some long eggplant that I'm going to cook Chinese-style with

some ginger and garlic tonight and this is gai lan it would be similar to a

chinese broccoli and again its leafy which my kids like and it has a lot of

stem which they love these are a King oyster mushroom they are usually

imported but my kids love mushrooms this is a great meat substitute and they're

very easy to prepare and clean much easier than the small mushrooms that you

may be used to buying. I treated my husband to some ginger candy. Ginger

candy, candied winter melon, all kinds of things like that are now available and

discounted in the Asian supermarkets. This is a great digestive or like after

meal treat and we love it so you'll probably be seeing some candied ginger,

some citrus, and probably some rice with Chinese vegetables alongside it in my

Chinese New Year lunchboxes. We have tons of pot stickers in our freezer if you

keep kosher or vegetarian those kosher and vegetarian pot stickers are very

available at the markets including Trader Joe's. Frozen egg rolls and tofu

are two other vegetarian friendly foods that I love to keep on hand the little

bitty egg rolls toast up beautifully in the morning and are easy to tuck in a

lunchbox I also love to have tofu that can be mixed in with any of

these vegetables and a sauce that you like. There are all of the paper goods

and red envelopes like these, incense, lanterns, all of the like stationery and

other ritual supplies that are used for Chinese New Year are also in the markets.

So these little envelopes I thought would be really interesting for my

daughters and really nice to tuck into their lunch bag with a little note from

mommy or maybe a little money for prosperity in the new year, you never

know! I would love to know do you do anything for Chinese New Year? Do you go

out for Chinese or dim sum? Do you make long noodles? Is this something that you

do? We are a Jewish family, and while this is not my culture, I really love the

opportunity to expose my children to other tastes, take them to other grocery

stores. Even if I can't get on an airplane with them and travel

internationally, they really can have that exposure in their lunches and the

family meals that I'm preparing every day. Thank you so much for joining me
