DIY How to make Christmas wreath out of newspaper and pine cones (ENG Subtitles) - Speed up #420 - Duration: 3:53.
Hi. Today I will show you how to make Christmas wreath out of pine cones.
I made it by request from my viewer.
Detailed list of all needed items is in the description of this video.
First crush the newspapers and twist them a little.
Bind the pieces of newspapers by using adhesive tape.
Make a shape of wreath...
...and bind the ends.
Add more pieces of newspapers and bind them by using tape.
Repeat this until obtaining the proper thickness.
Of course you can use styrofoam wreath instead of this one.
Next, wrap it by using the pieces of newspapers.
Secure them by using adhesive tape.
Cut a leg out of nylon tights,..
...cut it open...
...and wrap it around the wreath.
Secure it by using glue.
Now glue the pine cones. Glue them close to each other.
Cover entire wreath excluding the back.
Hide the empty spaces by using beechnuts...
...and walnuts.
Attach the Christmas balls.
Tie a piece of ribbon to the wreath.
Cut 2 pieces of decorative ribbon. 1.5cm x 30cm each.
Glue their ends.
Glue both pieces together.
Cut a pieces of ribbon,..
...fold it in a half...
...and glue it to the bow.
Glue the bow to the wreath.
And it's done.
This wreath is a wonderful decoration for Christmas.
I made the hanging wreath, but you can make a table wreath in the same way.
You can paint a part of the pine cones, all of them or you can leave them unpainted.

Since Teacher's Day is here again, I want to talk a bit about my thoughts on the role of teachers,
particularly foreign language teachers.
My thoughts aren't based on research or scientific investigations.
They're just based on my personal experience.
Take them for what they're worth.
First, I want to say very frankly that I think Vietnamese people expect way too much from their teachers.
For example, there have been a few times that I've been doing placement testing for a new course,
and a few people have said to me, really enthusiastically:
"Oh, I don't want to study with any teacher other than you, Dan!"
Although I really appreciate that compliment,
I find that kind of thinking really mistaken,
because, in reality, no matter how fun, talented, and committed this or that teacher is,
they can only help you a little bit.
For example, you guys know that I used to study Vietnamese with a tutor, right?
And she taught well. Everyone online said she was better than most other tutors out there.
Nevertheless, I still think the fact that I can speak Vietnamese well is mostly because of me.
Because of the fact that I practiced a lot, frequently asked questions and sought out answers . . .
and because I've got a bit of talent.
So, in my experience—
both my experience teaching and my experience learning foreign languages—
around 80% of your success in studying a foreign language depends on you,
and the remaining 20% depends on your teachers.
If that proportion is accurate, it means that finding a good teacher is indeed worthwhile,
but it doesn't solve the whole problem.
Also, it means that with respect to the final results achieved by each student,
the difference between a good teacher and a "wonderful" teacher . . .
is pretty negligible.
So if the affect that teachers have on their students is so small,
then what's their role?
If you ask me, a teacher's role isn't to be a passer-on of knowledge.
Although we do pass on knowledge to some extent, that's not our main role,
because the majority of the knowledge you need, you've got to find out for yourself,
and even the knowledge that a teacher passes on to you won't be worth anything if you don't work hard to review it.
And a teacher's role is certainly not to pass on ability,
because no one in the world can pass ability on to you.
I'd say that a teacher's role is like that of a guide,
because the journey of becoming skilled in a foreign language is one that you have to carry out yourself,
so the role of a teacher is to travel along with you, support you, and show you the way.
Along with that role, a foreign language teacher should also be someone who provides inspiration.
I know that sounds a bit cheesy, but I think it's the truth.
Because the things you have to do to become good at English . . .
well, they can be lonely, like reviewing vocabulary, for example,
or they can be exhausting, like practicing your listening,
or they can be a bit scary, like practicing your speaking with foreigners,
and your teachers can't do those things for you,
but they can pass on to you a positive attitude toward your studies
and encourage you to do those things on your own.
That's one of the reasons I often make videos that are more entertaining than seriously educational,
like the video about swearing.
You guys may have very few opportunities to actually use the words and phrases in that video,
but, since that's a more interesting and unusual topic than, say, relative clauses,
it might cause some people to become more interested in English,
and encourage them to do the things they really need to do in order to improve their English.

It's between Seville and Malaga so it'll take us 1h30~1h40.
And here we are in Ronda. It's still very hot!
This town is very famous for its bridge that link the two parts of the city.
We noticed a small path going down where we could have a clear view of the bridge.
