Financial Investor Website, Facebook, YouTube Statistics & Channel Changes - Duration: 11:23.

hello everyone and thanks for tuning into the financial investor channel my

name is Brent and I want to say Happy Thanksgiving to every single one of you

guys out there you know today is a day to be thankful for your family for your

you know your immediate family for your extended family it's a great day to come

together and of course you know you guys are my subscribers and my viewers so I

thought it was a great video just to say thanks to all of you yeah so today as

you know I'm ever on the financial investor channel on YouTube I run the

financial 101 on Facebook and I run my own website the financial - investor so

going forward I'm gonna be talking a little bit about my statistics on my

website you know I've been trying to increase my visitors increase my post

increase the information that I am putting out there and I'm gonna go ahead

and share some of the statistics as far as my website goes talk a little bit

about my Facebook page you know I'm always posting on there interesting

things that I you know I think is interesting as far as related to the

stock market and then YouTube going forward some of the changes I plan to

implement as you know I do certain videos on certain days of the week so

I'm gonna actually show you my schedule of what I plan to do going forward so

that is if you are brand new to my channel I make stock market investment

dividend videos weekly so do consider subscribing for future financial videos

so let's go ahead and get into it so the very first thing we're gonna be covering

is my website the financial investor calm now I hit over 1100 views in

November you can see November was a very great month I started my youtube channel

and my website I don't know I may have like actually bought the domain back in

June but I didn't actually start posting anything on Facebook or on website or my

website up until July and you know july/august for a pretty

mellow month September you know I took off to Germany I was in Germany for

three weeks visiting my wife's family I was travelling around there and having

some fun so September I didn't really see any videos on YouTube I didn't

really see any videos um I didn't post any posts on my website so my September

statistics had gone down quite a bit October I picked it back up you know

really seeing you content talking about my investments and my you know my my

stuff and continued to change and format my website to make it much more user

friendly and then November you know I've been continuing doing changes to my

website making sure everything is readable it's it's easier to read make

sense there's information on my website that

would be useful such as the resources and November you know I hit a

record-high 617 unique visitors so far in November I think that's amazing in

comparison to looking at October and anything prior you know I may have just

doubled my visitors between October and November my best over in a day is 73

visitors in the day and I must you know I'm sitting at 1100 visitors and 73 in

the day so if I get 73 day after day after day that's 10 days that's 700

views right there that's more than I've got in the month of November so

definitely going forward I'm definitely going to be trying to increase my post

on my website making sure that they are positive and that kind of relates into

my my youtube what I plan on releasing on YouTube now on Facebook wise this

talks a little bit my facebook page on my Facebook page the financial investor

of course this week alone my posts reached 2,000 161 people I had a website

click how to learn more they were referred referred back to my website

which you know I have more information on there I talk

a little bit of my stock picks you know I bought my biggest loser right now

essential link I talked about it quite a bit because you know I like talking

about positions that I'm down on because other people you know they think the

stock market you're gonna earn a lot of money but you know Centrelink was one of

my biggest losers I believe I'm down you know 15 to 20 percent in it but you know

I always talk about going forward and there's so much stuff going on as far as

central you know I made a video on Centrelink and how my plan how they plan

on turning around and why I believe they will turn it around and become a twenty

to twenty-five dollar stock in the next six one two years so I'll be holding

onto that stock with that yield of 11.66 now the post that I reach this week is

mainly due to my my brand new one how to invest your first hundred two fifty five

hundred dollars tax protected you know I talked about how you can compel your

capital gains and your dividends here after your gear until you do reach that

1 million mark because if you create your own tax protected account you know

your Roth IRA it's very easy to do this and get it set up or you're young and

you'll and you'll reinvest your dividends you'll reinvest you know if

you're really high in a position you could sell it off you know have to worry

about having to pay attack capital capital gains on it and those dividends

compound month-to-month because of the way I describe it within this post and

the video you know talking about buying ETS that pay you dividends every single

month and I give out five really good ETFs that I you know I hand-picked

myself talk a little bit about that so I

thought that was really interesting you know you can see here down at the bottom

I reach 1943 people so that's just interesting as a brand new youtuber I'm

not brand new I have other channels and but this is actually something I'm I you

know I've I've been I was a programmer you know I programmed in unity I release

applications I did website designs I do digital sales but finance and investing

this is something I've done since I was younger and it's it's so interesting to

talk to other like-minded individuals that are interested and investing their

money in the stock market and savings bonds and in dividend stocks and CDs you

know you name it I've probably done quite a bit of a Dimitra funds 401 k's

Roth IRAs Roth 401 KS so I do quite a bit of it and I'll be talking about that

going forward now as far as my youtube channel goes I'm sitting at 172

subscribers thank you guys every single one of you guys that are out there

watching this video if you are brand new to my channel subscribe I plan on

putting a lot of fun content you know on the first of the month I plan on putting

out my stock portfolio end of the month discussion talk about my positions and

my stocks what went up what went down what may have caused it to go up or down

talk about the indexes talk about the dividend payments that I was made out

paid out that month where those dividend payments were reinvested into because

that's what I do if I'm paid $200 in dividends I will reinvest those $200 in

dividends back into the stock market and that's what I've been doing Monday's

I'll put out some sort of an educational video we the review and touch on a

subject that was left in the comments or I'll pick something interesting

financial related with investments in stock market one that's coming up I'm

gonna be talking about as my you know 401ks right now it's that benefit season

you know Mike my own my company is doing a sign up for 401k so you can sign up

for a 401 K or a Roth 401 K so I'm gonna be talking about the differences between

them and talking about how to go in there and make sure you're getting the

best bang for your buck because there's a lot of 401 k's out there that'll

charge you every single month for basically having to you know do

nothing so Wednesday I'll be released and of course I'll be sticking with my

dividend stocks with ex-dividend next week covering my five randomly selected

dividends with ex turbulence next week and kind of doing a soft screen on them

is what I call it you know it's it's my soft screen I have three to four

different methods of screening them and this is kind of like a soft screening

and kind of deciding if they're worth investing here for the ex-dividend and

if they will continue picking up in the following weeks so that's always an

interesting thing to talk about and I like to watch new dividend stocks

Saturday I'll be doing a stock market weekly recap talking about some of the

stock market related ups and downs what stocks that I was following that way up

or down quite a bit you know as a dividend the best I follow lots of

dividend stocks I have my Google my Google Finance spreadsheets tracking

stocks I have alerts on my marital educate our

tracking specific stocks if they dip and hit a specific report where their price

would be below their yield so I'm falling quite a bit of stocks and talk

about portfolio changes the index changes for the week on the 25th of the

month I'll be covering three stocks on me they're watching or three stocks I'm

looking into buying in the following month there's times when I'm not really

looking to buy in a position but I may be watching in order to maybe buy into

the position such as November AT&T had dropped a ginormous amount I would stand

in the position I don't know how much percent like eight or ten percent I

bought more AT&T in November and it's gone up you know it's up in my Roth IRA

that's that's where I met a lot of the purchases so I'll be talking about that

on the 25th of the month and then days in between I'll be

randomly really you know days in between either Monday Wednesday Saturday or the

1st or 25th of the month I'll be putting out randomly selected videos related to

finance and dicing stock market dividends and so on so if there's

something like left in the comments or I see somebody in the Facebook group chats

that I'm in I'll make a video on the specific topic release it

and try and make it you know interesting I do plan on going forward on getting

some sort of camera well I'll be displayed on the bottom that way I'm not

just a voice behind a mic but um that is what I have going forward for the you

know my my website my facebook page and my youtube channel so I'm out here

trying to make interesting investment you know trying to make investment in

financial related topics interesting and hopefully showing that you know anybody

can go into the stock market with not too much experience and do pretty well

you know not too bad so if you do if you have a watch up hit at this point I do

want to thank every single one of you guys for watching up into this point

again Happy Thanksgiving or happy belated Thanksgiving if you did like the

video hit the like button below please remember subscribe before a brand new to

my channel hit the notification button I do have you know stuff that I'm

releasing weekly and in between there so if if you have a question about anything

going forward go ahead and leave it in the comments below I just saw that my

video cut off my icon here and my subscriber number and then that's

basically it thank you guys for watching and have a great day

The Real Reason Meghan Markle Quit Suits - Duration: 4:02.

Rumor has it actress Meghan Markle is planning to leave the popular USA Network series Suits,

a show she's been featured on since its premiere in 2011.

The actress hasn't confirmed her exit, but the chatter has fueled plenty of speculation

as to why she might go.

Is she ready to play a new role with her royal boyfriend?

What's really going on?

Here are some theories.

Long distance

Markle has been in a relationship with one of the most coveted bachelors in the world,

Prince Harry of Wales, since at least November 2016.

With Suits shooting in Toronto and Harry living in England, their relationship has mostly

been long-distance — which can be stressful for any couple.

It's possible that Markle may be leaving her hit series to be closer to her beau.

"I can't say that I know."

Put a ring on it?

Rumors have been swirling that Markle and Harry are planning to walk down the aisle.

Even if an engagement isn't on the table yet, the lovers have signaled that they're ready

to take their relationship to the next level.

In September 2017, Markle spoke about her romance for the very first time in a revealing

interview with Vanity Fair, saying,

"We're in love.

I'm sure there will be a time when we will have to come forward and present ourselves

and have stories to tell, but I hope what people will understand is that this is our

time."

"But we're happy.

Personally, I love a great love story."

"Do you see my heart palpitating?"

Low profile

Dating someone as famous and tabloid-friendly as Prince Harry will inevitably lead to an

exponential increase in scrutiny from the press.

In fact, it's already happened.

In November 2016, in a rare move by the Palace, Harry was forced to confirm his relationship

with Markle due to concerns for her safety from the tabloids.

The statement reads,

"Prince Harry is worried about Ms. Markle's safety and is deeply disappointed that he

has not been able to protect her.

It is not right that a few months into a relationship with him that Ms. Markle should be subjected

to such a storm.

He knows commentators will say this is 'the price she has to pay' and that 'this is all

part of the game.'

He strongly disagrees.

This is not a game — it is her life and his."

With that kind of sudden intensity, one wouldn't blame Markle if she wanted to distance herself

from the spotlight.

A co-star's exit

Markle's reasons for leaving Suits may be quite practical and professional.

According to Deadline, her co-star, Patrick J. Adams, is also planning to exit the show

after Season 7, reportedly for both professional and personal reasons.

As Deadline reports, Markle's character, Rachel Zane, has been closely linked with Adams'

character Mike Ross since Day 1, so Markle's exit "would make sense."

It's a bummer for sure, but can you really imagine Rachel without Mike?

Time to go

According to IMDb, Markle has filmed more than 100 episodes of Suits since the show

premiered in 2011.

At this point, she's committed more than enough time to the series and has earned the right

to pursue other projects.

This is especially true when you consider that she's barely acted outside of Suits in

the last six years.

Her higher profile may have encouraged equally high-profile professional opportunities, prompting

her to move on from the show.

Aiming higher?

If you're looking for a life of stability and comfort — and the potential for your

series to be broadcast around the world for decades — USA Network is the place to be.

After all, shows like Royal Pains and Psych each ran for eight seasons.

However, when compared to networks such as AMC or streaming services like Netflix, USA

isn't known for winning its actors prestigious awards or paving the way to blockbuster movies.

With that in mind, if Markle is feeling an itch to try something more challenging or

rewarding, she might want to strike while the iron is very, very hot.

"C'mon.

Me."

Royally busy

Assuming Markle is about to dive deep into the Royal Family, it's hard to imagine her

even having time to act.

She'd be busy attending royal functions and supporting passion projects, like Prince Harry's

Invictus Games for wounded veterans.

Even legendary actress Grace Kelly's Hollywood career essentially ended as soon as she married

the Prince of Monaco.

Sure, life with Harry may severely hinder her chances of being known as "Academy Award-winner

Meghan Markle," yet something like Meghan Markle, Duchess of Sussex doesn't sound so

bad, either.

"It's true."

Database of enterprises and organizations - Duration: 2:02.

Not a new idea, but I would like to know the opinions of more advanced adeyanov. The idea is as follows: going database for all private companies, OAO, OOO and other forms of ownership with the phone, name management, products or services, E-mail, etc. as possible and all companies in the database to make (pharmacies, nurseries, etc.). Then all of this database it reclaims in a good shell with all the functions of search, selection and recorded on CD. Yet, they continue to implement it can be as you wish, I personally once did in the print kiosks, point a CD and just gave ads in Newspapers. It is desirable, of course, that the sales were not through an individual but a firm or a state of emergency. In addition, I wanted to try the printed edition of the database, but here's something according to my calculations is not profitable. Maybe there are other suggestions on how to reduce the cost of the print edition? All, waiting for comments!

EBAY MYSTERY BOX! [CC] - Duration: 19:33.

Hey guys, it's been a long time! I say that in every video. If you're new to my channel

I'm Jules Darko, and I do videos once in a while. But today,

I am going to do an eBay mystery unboxing. I just had my birthday a few weeks ago

I don't really remember when it was honestly. I'm getting older

I can't remember anything. A YouTube trend now as the mystery unboxing of course

I've been like staying up really late watching them just because I I think they're fun.

But I will say that grav3yardgirl, just recently got a really bad one. She spent

$1,000 on a box and got garbage, mold, bugs that kind of thing. She's so far

She's the worst one that I've seen but anyway. I'm hoping that this and it's gonna be a good one

I want to say this right off the bat that I really really like this box, because oh gosh! It's it's like really heavy!

It's all kinds of, my feeble little arms just can't hold it up!

But it's got these hearts on it, but they're actually like

hand-cut. They're not

You know part of the wrapping paper. I really really like that little like homemade touch kind of thing. I also do like that

It's wrapped.. I think Maureen

I think Maureen had mentioned that it was for my birthday and

Like I almost feel bad for opening it because it's just wrapped so nice

Whenever I wrap gifts for people. I pretty much put them in a black garbage bag and

Say Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas. I really hate wrapping presents, but I just I love this little touch and this right here..

Oh, don't look at my address

This one right here

Ugh, I can't! It's so heavy! She cut out this heart, and then she cut out a little heart. I think it looks really really awesome

I'm really really excited to open it it. It did come with a card

However the card got lost in the mail

So I got sent like an e-card because I had the option of either getting the card resent

Or just doing an e-card, and I just figured

Might as well just do an e-card. It's fine. Let me read you what it says here okay.. The seller is mysteryluv8

I'll like write it down here or something. The card reads, "Thank you so much for ordering our mystery surprise box

I like to say our happy birthday and Christmas one box, so that's gonna probably be this theme.

We truly hope you enjoy every mystery in our box. If you ever looking for another mystery, we hope you'll look our way.

Please tell a friend or two. Enjoy. Mysteryluv8"

Let's do this! Oh gosh!

So what have you guys been up to lately?

I'm watching a lot of Bo Burnham stuff because he is so great! And I found out recently, you guys remember the guy who

Did the "leave Britney Alone?"

Remember that guy?

Apparently he does like porn now

So that's a thing

Gosh I can't open this

(funny groan noises)

OH!

That was an inappropriate noise.

Okay, I'm gonna turn on my camera right now. So you can kind of see as I'm seeing it right now. So, here's this

Look at that! That's cute. Oh my gosh, okay, there's like these little... oh these are so pretty!

Ahh, look at that! Ahh!

Okay, so this is number one. I also don't know how much this mystery box was I didn't ask. It was a gift

However Maureen if you want to say how much the mystery box was just comment down below

Oh my gosh hold on before I open this

This person put... it so out of focus hello! Wish, hope, all these like fun little things

Charmed, dream, play. What does this side say? I don't know Oh

Hold on what does that say? Welcome, pal, hi

...Dance...

Cute, glad, sweet!

Okay. This is really cute. I'm gonna like keep this box forever. Okay, so there's this This box is freaking adorable!

Little glitter thingy! Cute!

I'm going to be honest, I don't know what this is

It's

Yeah, I don't know what this is I'm gonna ask somebody later on and look

What is this?

Ok, there's that..

Tweezers I always need those! Hellur!

That is box number one. I'm very happy about it

I'll probably even more happy once I figure out what that thing is right there. Look at that! Look at this guys!

Cute little butterfly things! Oh, they're so pretty more. There's more. There's more. Okay, so I'm getting glitter all over the place yay

Okay, so this one

I love this. This is the cutest thing. I'm gonna start crying it says "random ting ding things, lol"

Okay, that's cute. I don't know if this is focused very well, but that's freaking adorable.

Ohhhh

Okay, I bet that thing has to do with crocheting okay, got it!

crochet beads

Cool little like seeds to grow herbs from Whole Foods

That's cute

(singing) Proud to be an American...

A patch with a flag on it

Bubbles! Don't know if they actually work. It's sealed so I know it's not been used

Weeeee! ha The bubbles went into the box, I was like oh, what are these but what are these a little balls for

Tito's homemade vodka buttons

I've never had that before but maybe I should probably have it because, alcohol

(sings again) Proud to be an American

Ting ding things box. This is great. There's a little ribbon

satin cord

Ideal for jewelry and craft projects.

Cool. I will probably use that for like necklaces or something.

Also, the necklace I have right now is awesome

OOOOHHHHH

Oh, yeah a travel neck pillow, I've always wanted one of these honestly. Hellur!

This is nice

Cool thank you. This is what I still have left. I've only opened like three things so far

YASSSSS

Yes, yes tissues I always need these. Just getting over being sick, so that's a thing.

Oh.

Body lotion very cool

(singing) And I won't forget the men who died..

I'm gonna keep all these ribbons too like

They're nice. I can use them for something oh oh

So I already see this so it's something from Target. The seller probably doesn't know I worked at Target for 11 years

No, it's Everlast so it's not Target. I don't know. I wonder if this person, if mysteryluv8 worked at Target

This seems like one little things that they would give to like the team members or whatever. There's my cat hello, that's her butt!

What is in here really?

Oh, some Fitness bands. Cool an aerobic band

What are you trying to say mysteryluv8? I know I need to work out more.

I've never had one of these before and I also love this like a little pouch thing. Put like my phone and it and stuff

Oh look. She's saying hello! This cat was not part of the mystery box, right?

(meows) Right Jay?

It's kind of like reminds you of like a Penn Station sub like the way, it's wrapped is making me very hungry

What is yes? Ah Oh?

Bubble bath! Hellur, I love this I love like this

like

Gold top it makes me feel like I'm really fancy and rich or something

I can't really smell it but I also like I said getting over a cold so I have a hard time. Oh it's sealed.

That's why okay

Well, sealed-ish.

That smells good

Yummy, that smells really really good. What's this scent supposed to be?

Jasmine noir and

Croley plum, I don't know what that says

There's a fun little pouch. Is there anything in here? ah

Pretty!

They are earrings.

I do have stretched lobes, but I also have regular standard holes

It makes me think about the "Heart of the Ocean". You guys remember Titanic?

It's like the, I think it's a different shade of blue

But it's definitely a heart and makes me think of that. "I'll never let go Jack" because she totally says it like that.

Black canvas

That's awesome really cool. I just recently met Colin

Forget his last name, but he's the guy who designed the X-wing the Death Star

Like the first, like the ships he designed the ships of Star Wars

It's really cool because what he did when he was trying to design this the ship

He stared at a blank black canvas for like four days and like on the fifth day

He woke up he designed the ship, which is really really cool. So maybe I'm gonna like stare at this blank canvas

Black canvas for a few days, I'm gonna come up with the newest

Star Wars ship

Socks

Yes, I love that!

I love socks with puns on them

Time to wine down. I had a glass of red wine last night, so this is definitely appropriate. Oh, okay, so this is a tin

There's a shirt, oh gosh, I hope it fits me

Oh, ha!

All right, it's just a red shirt

But I thought this was like part of the shirt

it's just like the sticker telling you how to wear a shirt because

I guess people don't know how. I thought I legit thought that that was part of like that was like something stitched on, cool.

Did this person used to work at Target?

Does this person know I used to work at Target? Do I know this person?

This is a really really good box. Everybody go to mysteryluv8 and see like what kind of

Mystery Box can you get from her if she has any left.

Color-changing mood light! That's fun. I like this like little rainbow thing readout here.

I love this person "bag of whatnots and do dots"

Cute I'm like gonna keep these notes forever. I smell something smells like nail polish. I think it's a

Tassels? LED tea lights, cool!. They've kind of like nippies. Nail polish remover wipes, cool. That's probably what I smell

also, oh

Maureen, are you this person? Hellur a Fireball shot glass!

That is awesome

Mysteryluv8, who are you? Do you know me in real life? Do you know,

Fireballs my jam. Oh a pencil sharpener cool. I also appreciate that this stuff is not opened.

I've seen so many mystery box where people are just getting rid of their junk that they have already opened and clearly opened.

And this is definitely still sealed and this is still sealed. This is definitely sealed. It's got little heels on it

That's cool

(singing) Met a homeless man named Rich.

Oh, I love these!! These are like very like Mitzie-ish. Oh no, I don't have glasses on! Shoot!

I love this. I wish like I wish they were my prescription

I'm really excited about this one. This person knows me really well. I love that. It's a little tutu!

It's maybe a little small for me, but we can stretch it out a little bit !Cute look at that. Thank you mysteryluv8

Thank you so much. That's really cool

Yeah

colored pencils oh

And I can use I can use the pencil sharpener to sharpen these so yeah

Cool, thank you. Oh, some ballpoint pens and this person knows

Must know that I like black. I don't like blue or

Red .Oh dry erase markers I always need these when we were filming Whirlwind Renaissance

Plug! Movie plug right there! My movie that I made

You know I didn't want to pressure everybody into memorizing their lines because you know they're all my friends

And so I took a dry erase board and wrote down their script in dry erase markers.

So this always be great for like filming and that kind of thing so thank you

And I've never had a pink one before, so. Look at that. That's just so pretty

I love this wrapping paper or this like tissue paper.

Just a little date book

Whoa I'm gonna put all my dates in here. Cool. I love this. I'm gonna put this in my purse and I

always, am writing things. Oh

It's got one of my favorite things too. I'm always writing things on little scraps of paper.

Just ideas I have for videos or ideas I have for like

scripts and that kind of thing and I always put them in my pocket and then

They get put in the laundry and they get lost forever

So this will be great because it can fit in my purse, and I'll tell you what my favourite thing is

that's

This little thing it makes me feel really really bougie whenever I have like a ribbon

I can't really see it like a ribbon bookmark

It makes me feel like I'm really fancy all the time so

Whenever I'm like getting like a sketchbook or something I always like to have one with a little ribbon or I'm getting a classic book

Like a Jane Austen or something I always like that little like extra ribbon thing

This was also in there. What is this? What this? Oh?

it's a little chalkboard thingy, cool.

I love this

Like cool let me not show you what it is. It is an art set. It's got 12

watercolor cakes, that sounds freaky. 6 watercolor paints, 2 sketching pencils, 2 natural hair brushes and

Watercolor pad 10 sheets

Neat I'm gonna open this up

cool

So I'm gonna do is I'm gonna be like

I love this. I'm gonna go down to the park and just get out my watercolor set and just do some really cool paintings

Yeah, the brushes are still good

The thing is still sealed here, the pencils are sharpened very nicely 2B and HB. Neat!

Folders, cool. Hellur, it's me.

Cool, always need folders like during Whirlwind Renaissance, I did not have a folder and what I did was I had a

Spiral notebook that I would just keep papers in and then they would get all like bent up and stuff

So yes, thank you, this is like inspiring me to do more film projects so yay

Wellness starts from within. Shower therapy for feet yes. Oh is this like a bath mat?

No, it's an Avon thingy. Avon Calling! I need new shoes so my feet have been hurting like quite a bit lately

They actually have holes on the bottom

And I'm really stubborn and I won't buy new shoes until like they pretty much disintegrate on my feet, so

That'll help me feel better in the meantime

Okay, this is the last thing what is this?

also glitter

Designer Paper, cool.

And do fun little projects and stuff on this

It's Designer Paper French Prep. That's me. I'm a French prep! 50 sheets

Yes, I just I just smelled it

Thank you this has been a really cool box this video has also been really long

I am so sorry, but there's just a lot of really cool things in here

I just wanted to take the time to really enjoy each thing individually so I apologize

for the longness of this, the longness, yes. Thank you mysteryluv8

Really love this box like quite a bit, and thank you. Thank you Maureen!

I love like these little ribbons like I'll put them my hair and stuff so

Like they're not like paper. They're actually like fabric ribbons. This person took a lot of time to put this together and

I'm gonna keep this box. It's got a little like fun like glitter things on it

I'm gonna put all this back in the box and probably go through it again just

Individually, just like enjoying each thing, but yeah, this is this has been a very successful

mystery box, I know that a lot of youtubers are kind of saying don't do this don't get a mystery box because

You literally don't know what you're gonna get which I understand but for every like bad one

There's also probably several very very good ones, and this is a really really good box. This is something

I probably love to do again and honestly

Do you guys want to see another one let me know, but yeah, thank you so much for watching

Thanks for sticking with me this whole time this has been very long. I've said this little like a lot of times

I'm sorry. I have a lot of videos

I have filmed and I haven't posted

So I don't know maybe I'll maybe I'll get motivated to be posting more if you guys like this video

if you hate this video, I'll just

Run away, no, not really. Yeah, I appreciate you guys just sticking with me, sticking with me this whole time

I know my my uploading has been very inconsistent

but you know I'm still uploading just I

just you know when I

When I feel like it, you know, I don't want to post a video

Just to post a video. I want to actually post a video that I like and

You know put effort into yeah, thank you for watching

You're beautiful you're all loved and I'll see you next time bye bye

Charles Blondin and the Stolen Point: Citation Needed 7x01 - Duration: 15:20.

This is the Technical Difficulties, we're playing Citation Needed.

Joining me today, he reads books y'know, it's Chris Joel.

Hello again, my beauties!

Everybody's favourite Gary Brannan, Gary Brannan.

And of course, the thing you must not do if the ape is enraged

is the Macarena.

And the bounciest man on the internet, Matt Gray.

Marhaba, YouTube.

In front of me I've got an article from Wikipedia and these folks can't see it.

Every fact they get right is a point and a ding,

and there's a special prize for particularly good answers which is...

And today we are talking about Charles Blondin.

Which gives us exactly nothing to go on, apart...

I mean, the way I pronounce that gives you a bit of a hint.

Français?

Yes, absolutely right.

He was French.

Oh, the wheel spins and lands on France…!

It's not a wheel!

It's just a piece of cardboard with an arrow saying France!

Charles Blondin, also known as The Great Blondin.

Did he do something with hot air balloons?

That sounds like you know that.

Well, it's a stunt man-y sort of name, isn't it?

I know France did hot air balloons.

That was the Montgolfier brothers.

- See? France did hot air balloons! - He's right, you know.

I mean he's not wrong, he's not wrong, but no.

He's not wrong and yet, in the back of your mind, the phrase is:

"how do I say he is wrong?"

That's fair.

Yes, Chevalier Blondin, or The Great Blondin.

Magician?

Certainly that sort of entertainer, that sort of genre…

Strongman.

Oh, was he like that bit in Ocean's Eleven with the acrobatics

to steal the money from the vault?

We are looking for a specific acrobatic trick here.

Something that you'd be known for.

It wasn't like Henry IV's favourite acrobat?

I think it's Henry IV, I might be... medievalists out there,

apologies I might have got the wrong king there,

who was known for a whistle, a tumble and a fart.

That was his act.

And he was knighted because the king thought it was so funny.

Apparently, Roland the Farter.

Roland the Farter!

That's it.

Roland the Farter.

You're not getting points for this, but you are right.

This was King Henry II, in medieval times.

A medieval flatulist who each year, in exchange for 30 acres of land,

was obliged to perform a jump, a whistle and a fart.

Can I just take a moment here for "flatulist"?

Yes!

Now I know this 'cos Wikipedia has a list of flatulists.

Yes, yes they do.

What wasn't he actually doing?

He wasn't actually breaking wind.

He was actually...

This is going to grim.

He was able to suck wind in,

and then blow it out again through muscle power, I assume.

And because that was technically a question I asked, you're getting the point.

Ever felt you're on home turf with a subject?

We are looking for a specific acrobatic act that Charles Blondin was famous for.

The windy-windy-falling-fabric thing!

- Aerial silks! - Aerial silks!

No. What have you got, Chris?

The flat-o-mer-boing-a-mi-thing!

Slackline?

Trampo-mo-line!

Trampo-mo-line, no.

The high-rope-walkalongy…

Yes!

Is he the one that walked between big buildings?

No, that's Philippe Petit.

Yes, this was…

Wasn't he French?

Yes, hence the name Philippe Petit!

No, but you said it more "Philip Petty", though.

He's Philip Petty!

Tom Petty and the Heartbreakers' brother.

You're absolutely right, it is the walky-longy-not-fally-downy-thing.

Correct.

The elastomastring!

He was a tightrope walker.

He came up with the idea to cross a certain thing on a tightrope.

Oh, Thingy Falls.

I'm not allowing you Thingy Falls!

Niagara.

That's the one, Thingy.

Yes, you're absolutely right, Niagara Falls.

I knew what you meant.

Widey! Big! Dangerous!

Yeah, Thingy Falls!

Widey Falls, not Tall Falls. Victoria, tall… wide.

It's going to be curved in, it's going to be like that…

Oh, that's where I went wrong, I need my hands that way.

Have you ever rubbed a waterfall?

Don't get your hands backwards.

You don't want to rub it the wrong way.

Actually you were trying to push the water back up weren't you?

Get-- ugh!-- what is Cnut doing in the wave pool?

Stood at the bottom, like Atlas, failing.

You're sort of, "Why is no one else as bothered about this as me?"

"The sea will be empty, the fish will...

"...opposite of drown!"

Asphyxiate, Gary!

"The fish are drowning! They seem fine with it, though..."

You should have seen Noah trying to load them onto the Ark!

Did not like it, did not like it at all.

"There's going to be a flood! Get the fish on!"

A long time ago...

You're absolutely right, he was the first to cross Niagara…

What did he do, insult it or something?

To cross Niagara Falls on a tightrope.

What did he then go back and do?

Fetch the other end of the rope and walk back with it.

Oh, what an act!

You'd pay to see it.

Well he did some other acts on the tightrope.

Whistle, tumble, fart?

Famous mid-air, tightrope walking flatulist.

Hell of an entry on Wikipedia, let's face it.

There were some theatrical variations, it says here, on the idea of…

Oh, he wore a hat.

Well he wore something.

His wife.

He carried his manager.

I think the idea of carrying a person is close enough,

I'm going to give you the point there.

Is that in case he had any border issues at the other end?

No, it's in case he wasn't getting a big enough cut.

Someone to negotiate with him on the other side.

Negotiate at the top of the Niagara Falls!

Hey, you'd agree quick, though, wouldn't you?

Also: in a sack, on stilts, not at the same time, and also…

He was in a sack?

Yes, he was in a sack.

How did he tightrope walk in a sack?

- Carefully. - You put it on the top, not the bottom.

Oh, right, with you, sorry, yeah.

Sack racing across a tightrope.

I would defo… never mind over Niagara Falls!

Well, two people, think about the overtaking!

Yes, you could see the waveform on the line.

Does that mean they next did an egg and spoon race over Niagara Falls?

Are we talking tightrope sport race? Sports race? Sports day.

Matt. Matt, Matt, Matt, Matt.

You are so close…

Because unbelievably the word "egg" is the accurate one in there.

What did he do in the middle of a tightrope, over Niagara Falls in about 1860?

Fry an omelette.

Omelette. Oi, I was saying that!

But how did I get that afterwards?

I was doing it better!

And Chris steals the point!

He cooked and ate an omelette on a tightrope in the middle of Niagara Falls.

What? On what?

- Well, the tightrope. - Pan.

Yeah, alright knobhead, but what?

Because that means a heat source,

so you've got to have a little cooking stove or something balanced on...

But what's that balanced on?

- His hand. - His hand!

How the f*** is he carrying a thing, and a thing, and what's-a, on a balance…?

Well, that is the trick.

That is literally the act he is being paid to do.

That is why it's impressive, Gary.

He also stood on a chair, with one chair leg on the rope, on Niagara..

No, no, no, no, no, no...

50 metres above the water.

How big is this wire by the way, while we're on it?

Well quite long 'cos it has to go across Niagara Falls.

What's the diameter of this wire?

Cheesewire!

Oh no.

Ooh, just slices of feet.

What I'd like y'all to do at this point is to gesture how big you think this wire is.

What, thickness wise?

- Girth? - Yes, girth.

- That big? - That big?

Have you just made whatever happens to be the size of your…?

No, no, I'm thinking of cable for...

I'm thinking how big it would be for your feet to comfortably sit on and be attached,

so it can't be much bigger than about that, I wouldn't have thought.

Yeah, Gary you've basically got it spot on.

Eight and a bit centimetres, you're absolutely right.

Oh.

Balls to this, I can't actually see the man do the egg.

I'd rather I was closer to him so I could witness how good the omelette was.

I'm sorry, if he's going to show off I'm going to get picky as well.

Is it going to be Saturday Kitchen where they try and do it under a minute?

Omelette Challenge. 60 seconds.

That's a reference that not many people are going to get isn't it?

Now there is a sentence in this article.

Obviously, at this point --

he was born in France, he's moved to the US to do this sort of thing.

While in the US he married someone called Charlotte Lawrence.

What's strange about that?

Is he a bigamist?

Well, we don't know.

I'll give you the point because the phrase here is:

"while in the US he married a second wife".

That indicates you're a bigamist.

And then slightly earlier it says he married Marie Blancherie,

and it is not known what happened to his French family after he went to America.

So I will give you the point.

It's quite possible that he divorced her or that something else happened.

It's not recorded in here.

Can you imagine being his first wife, thinking your husband's disappeared,

never to be heard of again, and picking up Le Monde and seeing the front page,

"Man Cooks Egg Over Niagara Falls" and going "b******!"

Oh yes, because it was definitely front-page-worthy.

Oh, yeah!

What, you think this isn't?

Blondin came back to Europe, lived in the UK,

retired for a while and then made a reappearance in the sort of manner

you'd expect stars who are in need of money to do.

I'm a Celebrity.

Something that existed at the end of the 19th century and still exists now.

Panto.

Yes.

You are absolutely right.

He appeared in Jack and the Beanstalk at the Crystal Palace.

Not at Crystal Palace, at the Crystal Palace.

I'm going to guess that what he did is his tightrope act on was, maybe, the beanstalk.

I'm going to suggest that might be it, it's not recorded here but, yes.

Nah, he was the front end of the panto horse.

While on the beanstalk.

Back end, not a tightrope walker, clinging on desperately.

It's like, you have to put some tightrope walking in there,

because this guy's a one-trick pony…

Oh, f*** off…

That wasn't a joke.

Oh, horse! Panto horse.

I must just be naturally funny(!)

When he's out of work he's getting the washing in, where is he?

On top of the washing line.

He was so associated with tightrope walking, what happened to his name?

Oh, the tightrope became his name!

A tightrope walker was called a Blondin.

- Ah. - That's how well-known he was.

Like how people Google for things…

Going back to an earlier thing,

like that guy was around in the early 2000s called Mr Methane.

Another one on your list of famous flatulists!

Yes.

See how I'm tying these bits together today.

There is also a thing called a Blondin, even now.

And it's a bit of industrial equipment.

What might it be?

Safety rig for working at height?

Not for people.

- Animals. - For sheep working at height!

"Go on Bessie, the grass is a bit long near the cliff."

"Baaa!"

- Not for animals... - That's a valid thing you might need

because companies are putting sheep on their roofs, aren't they?

What?

If you build a new building you can put the organic roofs on

that are a layer of turf to help insulate, to stop it...

Some companies want it to be kind of a wild garden, but other companies…

Want it neatly mowed?

And they're putting sheep and goats on it.

Cracking.

So you might need a safety line for a sheep, it's working at height…

When was the last time you put a safety harness on a sheep?

Wednesday.

All I can think is that I want to change jobs to aerial shepherd.

What might you need to move, on a rope, in a quarry?

Oh, stone.

You're absolutely right.

It's an aerial ropeway used in Welsh slate quarries.

It's called a Blondin after him.

Oh, right, so like the ones at the end of… nah, that doesn't spoil anything,

like the ones at the end of Get Carter,

that kind of thing where it dumps coal in the sea.

Hands up who's seen Get Carter?

- Literally none. - Literally only Gary.

F*** it, bring the screen down.

We're watching this, alright?

"You're a big man, but you're out of shape. He does this for a living."

- That's from Get Carter. - Get Carter.

There is one other person I'd like to talk about from Niagara Falls

and from the history of Niagara Falls.

Is it... was it a lady or a gentleman went over it in a barrel?

You said lady or a gentleman, Gary, I'll give you the choice, pick one.

Oh f***.

The little bell that's ringing in the back of my head says lady but I could be wrong.

- Roll with it. - Have a point.

- Oh, right okay. - Any idea of the names?

Annie Edison Taylor.

Born in 1838, ended up in Bay City, Michigan

where she hoped to become a dance instructor.

Did she not?

I mean, have the point. Why not?

Couldn't fucking dance(!)

Bog-all rhythm.

There's nobody wanting to dance.

There are no dance schools.

Now why didn't she sort of break the mould and start one, rather than just…

Well she did! She absolutely did, have a point.

Then she travelled all over the place trying to find work,

couldn't find any and moved back to Bay City.

Which means she wanted to secure her later years financially.

She wanted to avoid what?

Workhouses? Something like that?

Yes, the poor house, absolutely right.

She decided she would be the first person to ride over Niagara Falls in a barrel.

And she considers that securing her future?

Not putting it at dire risk.

She was actually in her 60s, when she went over.

Really?

Using a custom made barrel.

Why did she use a barrel, not, like a boat or something proper?

"It was a proper barrel!"

That's good question. What is a barrel designed to do?

Oh, keep water out?

Exactly.

It's designed…

Well, strictly speaking, to keep water in, surely?

- No, keep booze in, and water out! - Oh, right, with you!

- Yes! - Focus man, come on.

It is meant to be waterproof.

So the idea is she's in there, in a slightly pressurised barrel,

with a heart-shaped pillow and mattress.

There was a lid on it?

There was a lid on it.

Oh right, I assumed it was up to the waist or something!

"Tally-ho!"

I've always assumed that, that's how I've always pictured it.

I never thought…

Sort of like a tub over the edge, yeah.

Come to think of it, yeah, so have I.

No, she was stuffed in a barrel with the top sealed.

A little bit of pressure in there, the idea being that all she's going to feel is:

darkness, darkness, darkness, plunge, thump, thump, thump, thump,

get out the other side.

Did she?

Well you keep asking me the questions, Matt,

but that's not actually what I'm here for.

So…

Let's say she didn't.

She did.

She made it over the falls with nothing but a small gash on her head.

What did she say afterwards?

F***!

I mean it was… it was…

I'm going to give you the point because it wasn't that short,

it wasn't in so few words,

but yes, "If it was with my dying breath,

"I would caution anyone against attempting the feat."

That's never a great recommendation for a ride is it?

No, but it's really smart for somebody who is looking to secure their fame

for being the one who did it.

"I would sooner walk up to the mouth of a cannon knowing it was going to blow me to pieces

than make another trip over the fall."

And next week, watch me walk up to a cannon knowing it's going to blow me to pieces!

At the end of the show, congratulations Chris, you win this one.

Well done.

You win a small fast bird that makes clothing for other small fast birds.

Oh God.

It's this Tailor Swift.

With that we say thank you to Chris Joel,

to Gary Brannan,

to Matt Gray.

Bye bye YouTube.

I've been Tom Scott and we'll see you next time.
