3d Printing Filament Dry Box // Becky Stern - Duration: 2:35.

Today I want to show you this dry box I made for my 3D printing filament.

It protects the PLA from absorbing moisture from the air, which can lead to failed prints

and nozzle clogs.

The dry box dispenses the filament to the 3D printer too, providing convenient storage.

Let's get started.

You'll need a gasketed plastic container that's at least as tall and deep as a roll of filament,

and as long as you want to accommodate your shelf space or filament collection.

I ordered mine on Amazon, and I'll put a link to it in the description.

Besides the box, you'll need a piece of PVC pipe or closet rod to match the length of

your box, some teflon tubing to feed your filament to the printer, some silica gel packets

to absorb moisture from the air inside the box, a step drill and screw gun, some o-rings

and screws, and some 3D printed parts I found on Thingiverse.

The first is a closet pole socket, which I had to scale to match my pipe, and then some

of these screwless filament feeders, which were a perfect fit.

I wanted to rest the box on its' side, so that I could easily remove the lid and change

filament rolls without removing the whole box from its shelf.

So when it came time to mark and drill the holes for the pole sockets, I tilted the mounting

axis a bit towards the box opening.

I put an o-ring on each screw before tightening down the bolts.

I test fit a roll to find the natural unspooling level of the filament, and drilled more holes

to accommodate the filament feeders, which also get o-rings before being tightened and

fitted with a piece of teflon tubing, which keeps dust and air off the filament on its

way to the printer.

Then it's time to load it up and feed the filament through the tubing!

Mine then feed down behind their shelf to the printer below, but you could just as easily

feed the filament up from below your printer if that's what your space allows.

This is an easy project that takes less than an afternoon to complete, and then you'll

reap the filament-preserving benefits for countless days to come.

Use it to store your most frequently used colors, and archive the rest using my colleague

Paige's ziptop bag method.

She also has a recipe for rescuing damp filament by baking it at a low temperature for several

hours.

With this new dry box and this piece of vinyl to insulate my printer from drafts, my setup

is feeling vastly improved.

Handmade Holiday Gift Guide 2017 | Whitney Sews - Duration: 3:48.

Hi everyone!

I'm Whitney and it is time again for another Handmade Holiday Gift Guide!

This is the video where I share tutorials and ideas for projects that would make great

gifts for the special people in your life.

All the tutorials I mention will be linked in a playlist you can find in the information

icon in the upper corner of the screen, as well as in the description box down below.

Ok, let's start off with a few ideas for the kiddos.

First up is the stuffed animal and doll sleeping bags I did a tutorial on back in January.

These are so cute and easy to whip up for any kids you know who have some special fluffy

friends or dolls.

My mom made these for my beanie babies when I was little and I loved tucking each of them

into their cozy little sleeping bags.

Next up is a reversible apron.

It would be great for a kiddo wanting to learn to cook or for an art time smock.

I showed how to make it in a kids size, but it can of course be made in adult sizes too.

Speaking of adults, an infinity scarf is a great gift for men and women depending on

what fabrics you use.

In my tutorial I show how to add a zipper to the scarf for a hidden pocket, but you

can leave the zipper out

and just make it a regular infinity scarf.

Another great accessory is a newsboy hat.

I just recently posted an updated newsboy hat tutorial with a easier to print pattern

than the previous one.

These hats are so fun to wear and anyone who likes hats would love to be gifted one.

Last on the list of ideas are bags.

I shared several bag tutorials this year from easy lined zipper bags to tote bags to a double

pocket crossbody bag.

All of them would make great gifts and some of them would even be perfect for holding

other gifts as well.

Bazı şirketler tesadüfen şeytani semboller kullansa da bazıları karanlık enerjilerin,

en tanınmış şeytan sembollerinden biri olan Baphomet'e atıflarla doludur.

Özellikle yıldızların aralığı ve iki kat çizilen daire asıl Baphomet sembolünün

birebir kopyası gibidir.

Öte yandan ortada üzeri siyah beyaz çizgili çift kuyruklu bir deniz kızı bulunur.

Siyah beyaz çizgiler Alice Harikalar Diyarında ki damalı zeminden ilham alınarak tasarlanmıştır

TBMM'deki Masonik Semboller TBMM'nin mimarı dünyaca tanınmış Avusturyalı

mimar Prof. Clemens Holzmeister'di. 1886 yılında doğan ve 1983 yılında hayata

veda eden Holzmeister'in ilginç bir hikayesi vardı.

tanrısıyla alakası olmayan bir anlam içeriyor, anlatılmak istenen tanrının insanoğlunun

kendisi olduğu yönünde.

açıkça üç altı koymuş gibi görünüyor.

Başta göremeyebilirsiniz, ancak bir kez görebilirseniz gerisini de farkedebilirsiniz,

How one Swiss hospital slashed food waste - Duration: 4:29.

Rush-hour in the kitchen of Lucerne hospital.

From 11 a.m., the 600 individual meals ordered by patients

are prepared.

Since the food waste analysis in spring this year,

the staff and managers have one goal:

to greatly reduce the 25 tonnes of waste food each month.

It's making us appreciate the value of food

and use it carefully.

It's all in the details:

When preparing strawberries, for example, not just the green part is removed,

but maybe even half of the strawberry.

It's the small details.

This way you can achieve a lot with a little.

The results were astounding:

The patients at Lucerne Cantonal Hospital produce

half of the food waste.

45% is produced by the kitchen,

while the staff leave practically nothing.

What most surprised the chefs

was the extent to which patients seem to waste liquids:

We get a huge amount of coffee and milk sent back.

Over a year this comes to 20,000 litres

that we simply destroy.

With small actions such as reducing portion sizes,

we can save 10,000 litres.

And people don't think there isn't enough coffee now?

No, not at all.

If they want a double helping they can get it sent to their room.

The other food waste figures are also considerable:

Patients leave 3,700 kg of food a month on their plates -

and almost 1,800 kg of soup and 800 kg of desserts are returned.

On average, 2,750 trays ordered a month

come back to the kitchen untouched.

Lucerne Cantonal Hospital has reacted to this problem:

For a standard breakfast, the amounts of yogurt, coffee, cheese, butter

and bread have all been reduced.

There's also less for lunch and dinner.

And not as much for dessert.

The patients haven't protested up to now.

They like being able to choose from a quarter portion up to 1.5 portions:

I think it's great that I can order like this -

not as much.

Because I'm not doing anything, I'm lying in bed the whole day,

I'm not that hungry.

I think it's wrong to throw away food on principle.

If it can be reduced like this, that's great.

To prevent food waste ending up in the bin, however

there's also a need for action in the hospital kitchen:

It produces 45% of the food waste due to over-production.

More than 10 tonnes a month.

We've clearly modified the recipes in production.

Some things are produced in smaller portions.

But we also had to give people specific training.

It was quite a challenge,

because people quite naturally prefer to make a bit more.

I'll maybe make an extra ten portions of pasta,

so there's definitely enough.

We've now trained our staff not to make as much.

It's better to make more if necessary.

The catering and food industry network

is campaigning to reduce food waste.

It's clear to the expert

that the Lucerne project is unique in Switzerland:

This is a flagship project,

which should send out a signal and show

that it's possible even in a large organization,

where there are certain challenges, to achieve a reduction.

Lucerne Cantonal Hospital's aim is pretty ambitious.

The nursing and kitchen staff share a common vision:

For us, the result is clear:

We want to reduce our food waste by 30%.

So we want to save 30% of the 25 tonnes

that we produce per month.

If they achieve this goal, it would save 100 tonnes of high-quality food from

being destroyed each year at Lucerne Cantonal Hospital alone.

The next moment of truth will come next March

when the hospital analyses the volume of food waste again.
