What If The Ningen Were Real? - Duration: 5:27.
Hello and welcome back to Life's Biggest Questions, I'm Ron McKenzie-Lefurgey.
The Ningen, otherwise known as the Japanese Mermaids, are large underwater creatures of
legend.
While they are not believed to be particularly aggressive, they have reportedly scared the
pants off of countless sailors over the years.
Many believe that sightings of the Ningen are cases of mistaken identity, with sailors
seeing other sea creatures in the dark and thinking them to be something more mysterious.
But what if that wasn't the case?
What if the Ningen really existed?
Let's explore.
If you want more What If videos, check out our "Biggest What Ifs" playlist on the
channel.
Now get ready, it's time to ask the question: What if the Ningen were Real?
Of course, as an English speaker, my clumsy Canadian tongue has trouble with some Japanese
words.
I'll do my best, but feel free to mock me in the comments down below.
The story of the Ningen began where so many often do: on an internet forum.
A tale was posted to 2channel, a popular Japanese online forum, which claimed that members of
a whale research ship caught sight of a large creature that surfaced near their ship off
the coast of Antarctia.
It was 20 to 30 metres long, completely white, and a humanoid shape including arms and legs.
Since then, there have been numerous sightings of such a creature, and while depictions vary
somewhat, they tend to describe a similar being.
Some supposed photographs of the creatures have surfaced, but upon further inspection,
none have been deemed to be convincing.
However, despite the lack of hard evidence, people continue to believe, with many claiming
that the evidence once existed, but was covered up by the government.
These people claim that the government uses a chemical compound produced by the creature
for medical or military purposes.
One rather popular photograph that has been circulated seems to depict the Ningen walking
on two legs, leading some to believe that they would actually be able to walk on land.
Of course, this photo looks suuuuuuuper fishy, no pun intended, but for the purposes of this
video, we'll pretend that this is proof that the Ningen could walk on land.
Great, now we know what the Ningen are; but what would happen if these creatures actually
existed?
Well, unlike most sea creatures we've discussed here on LBQ, the Ningen likely wouldn't
pose too much of a problem for humanity.
Stories of the Ningen don't tell of them attacking, which would imply that they are
either benevolent, or ambivalent towards us.
Sailors might have a spooky experience now and then, but our relationship with the sea
wouldn't change too much.
Furthermore, based on the humanoid appearance of the Ningen, many believe that they could
be fairly intelligent.
The similar shape could indicate a shared ancestry, which might mean that they would
have brains comparable to our own.
If we were able to communicate with them, and build a rapport, there's a good chance
that we could figure out a sort of symbiotic relationship with them.
They could possibly dive deeper than us, and could tell us all about life under the sea.
Maybe they would even do it through song!
Of course, when people learned of these awesome beasts, everyone would want to see them.
To this end, it's possible that we could coordinate times for them to surface and perhaps
interact with spectators.
Of course, we wouldn't want to make them uncomfortable or take advantage of them, but
if they were into it, humanity certainly would be as well.
It's possible that we could convince them to do it by making them an offer they couldn't
refuse.
No no no, not like The Godfather.
I mean a good offer.
Like Netflix.
And Pizza.
Of course, it's hard to say what exactly they might desire from us, but a few possibilities
come to mind.
It could be that they would enjoy humanity's cuisine, considering they probably don't
have a whole lot of spices in the ocean.
It could be that they would come to appreciate aspects of human culture, such as music or
art.
With enough time, if they were to understand English, they could even come to appreciate
film and television.
Who knows, maybe we would even create works specifically for the Ningen.
This could allow them to live a life of more leisure, appreciating the nicer things in
life, rather than simply living to survive underwater.
Perhaps we would help them to build environments such that they could take advantage of these
things, with underwater TVs, radios, and the like.
It's even possible that they would want to join us on land, in which case we could
build containment suits to allow them to remain for extended periods.
Based on the Antarctica pictures, they do seem to be able to walk on land, so this doesn't
seem like too much of a stretch.
Of course, given their incredible size, the Ningen wouldn't be able to live in normal
human cities.
However, we could build a city or cities specifically for them, with stronger infrastructure and
larger buildings.
Of course, it would be best to build these cities on the coast, so they have access to
the ocean if they need it, but it could be very useful in improving Ningen-human relations.
Considering they would likely require low temperatures, they would need to live somewhere
very cold, perhaps even Antarctica, although temperature control could be worked into the
containment suit as well.
Wherever they ended up living, it would become one of the greatest tourist attractions on
Earth.
However, it would be important to limit visitors and their actions, since the Ningen would
likely not want to be on display throughout their lives.
Like students at the Milford academy, human visitors would strive to be neither seen nor
heard.
And now we return to our question: What if the Ningen were Real?
Well, unlike other sea monsters, the Ningen probably wouldn't pose much of a threat
to us, since they tend not to attack humans.
However, people would come from far and wide to see these creatures I they were real.
It could be that we would begin communicating with them, and start a relationship between
our species.
It's even possible that they would wish to move onto land, at least partially, and
perhaps live a life of more luxury.
We could come to an arrangement, where they tell us about the ocean, and share their knowledge,
while we share ours in return, and provide comforts on land.
In the words of Rick Blaine Thank you for watching Life's Biggest Questions,
I hope this was interesting and informative, and maybe even inspired you to look into it
further on your own.
If you liked this video, please thumbs up and subscribe to the channel down below.
While you're down there, let me know if you think the Ningen are actually real, and
what you'd do if you encountered one.
Until next time, I'm Ron McKenzie-Lefurgey with Life's Biggest Questions, wishing you
the best of luck, on your quest for answers.

This Is How Warren Buffett Made $85 Billion - Duration: 9:30.
Warren Buffet: a name synonymous with capitalism, the American dream and financial success.
But how did a poor boy growing up in the Great Depression go on to become one of the richest
men in the world? Hello, and welcome to The Infographics Show- today we're taking a look
at an American financial legend and how he made his fortune.
Warren Buffet was born August 30th, 1930 in Omaha, Nebraska. Exposed to the brutal reality
of the American Great Depression, Buffet learned to respect the value of money early in life.
In the grip of one of the worst financial crisis in American history, his family lost
all of their savings as the bank where they kept their money closed just before his first
birthday. Living in poverty, Buffet would grow up watching his mother skip dinner so
that his exhausted father, working any jobs he could find, could eat a full portion. He
would also endure the shame of his family skipping church because of mandatory tithing
they could not afford. Rather than languish in hardship however, a young Warren boldly
declared one night at the dinner table that he would make his first million dollars by
age 35, or he would throw himself off the tallest building in Omaha.
From a young age Warren Buffet showed an incredible talent for math and numbers. He was specially
interested in patterns, and would play games where he recorded the license plate numbers
of passing cars and then that night would write them all down and figure out which number
came up most often. This finely honed talent for pattern recognition eventually drew him
to a new game that would foreshadow the life to come- one day as he watched men buying
soda from a machine, he became curious and started gathering up the discarded bottle
caps. That evening he returned home and counted up all the bottle caps he had collected, then
repeated the process for an entire week, thus learning which brand of soda had the best
sales and which flavors were preferred. His mind drawn to numbers, patterns and finances,
Warren soon graduated to recording stock prices from his father's newspaper, repeating his
soda pop diligence to figure out high-performing stocks. Feeling like he was watching the world
of finance through a glass cage without being allowed to participate, a young Warren dreamed
of that first million dollars and the opportunity to invest it.
With the Great Depression ending, Warren watched as his father, leery of rising inflation following
the financial boom of a post-WWII America, invested what little money he had into tangible
assets such as gold coins, a crystal chandelier and sterling silver dinnerware. This would
go on to influence Warren's preference of tangible over intangible assets, and an investment
philosophy that preferred businesses with tangible assets and proven earning power.
At age 13, he would go on to his first job as a paperboy where he realized he could maximize
his earnings by diversifying his product line. To that effect he began to sell magazine subscriptions
to his paper route customers, preferring to sell subscriptions just as they were about
to expire to guarantee a quick second sale. His paper route would go on to earn him $175
a month, or $3,000 in today's dollars.
By the time he was 15, Warren used his earnings to buy a 40-acre farm in Nebraska and hired
a laborer to work on the land. After graduating from high school, he used the profits from
the farm to pay his way through earning a Bachelor of science degree from the University
of Nebraska. Rejected by the prestigious Harvard Business School, Warren instead applied to
and was accepted at Columbia Business School, where he would study under legendary value
investor Benjamin Graham.
As he left home to New York for business school, the ever-frugal Warren opted to stay at a
local YMCA for free rather than pay for room and boarding elsewhere. He picked up a paper
route again, but invested his money into pinball machines which he would place at local barbershops.
Afraid that the mob owned the gaming industry though, Warren purposefully kept his operation
small. It would be his pinball days that would teach Buffet more practical business lessons
than school: convenience and service fetches higher prices, location is everything, efficiency
determines profit margins, and the practical limitations of scalability for business.
After graduating from Columbia Business School, Warren briefly returned to Omaha and studied
public speaking while teaching investing at the University of Nebraska. In 1954, his old
teacher and mentor, Benjamin Graham, offered him a job as an investment salesman and securities
analyst. By 1956, Buffet had bought a home for his wife and young daughter, and had $174,000
in savings- or just over one and a half million in today's dollars. Believing that he could
live comfortably from his earnings on his investments alone, Warren decided to retire
at age 26. The young Warren however quickly grew restless as his childhood dream of being
a millionaire stirred in his head once more. Deciding he would have to be far more active
to meet his goal, Warren came out of retirement in 1956 and started Buffet Partnership Limited.
Building on the lessons of his youth, Warren grew his wealth by sticking to investing in
businesses with proven earning potential and tangible assets. His most influential deal
however would be the acquisition of Berkshire Hathaway in 1964. Originally established in
1839 as the Valley Falls Company, Berkshire Hathaway would go on to become a highly successful
textile manufacturer. However with declining sales following a drop in global textile sales
after World War I, the financial future of the company looked to be on the decline. Ever
savvy, Warren Buffet noticed that its stock prices would improve dramatically after closing
down a mill, and thus in 1962 he invested heavily hoping for short-term gain. In 1964,
CEO Seabury Stanton offered to buy back Warren's shares at $11.50 per share, to which Warren
agreed. However when he received the offer in writing he saw that the price had been
surreptitiously dropped to $11.37. Furious at this undercutting, Warren instead decided
to buy more of the stock and took control of the company, immediately firing Stanton.
This however put him in a situation where he owned a failing textile manufacturer, so
while he initially maintained the core business of textiles, by 1967 he began to invest company
money into insurance and media. Eventually, he would shut down the entire manufacturing
side of the new Berkshire Hathaway, focusing mainly on investments, insurance, utilities
and energy. In just a few short years, Warren Buffet had turned a failing business around
and by the age of 30 had achieved his goal of earning one million dollars- five years
earlier than planned.
Berkshire Hathaway would go on to become his flagship for all business investments, and
despite it being very successful, Warren decided to dissolve his firm, Buffet Partnership,
in order to focus all his efforts on developing Berkshire Hathaway. After phasing out the
textile business, Warren focused on buying assets in media such as The Washington Post,
oil and energy company Exxon, and the insurance giant Geico. In 1979 Berkshire Hathaway began
trading at $775 a share, reaching $1310 by year's end- this would skyrocket Warren Buffet's
net worth to a whopping $620 million.
Not content to rest on his laurels however, Warren had a new goal: $1 billion dollars.
The same year his personal worth reached over $600 million, he directed Berkshire Hathaway
to acquire stock in the television network ABC. Partnering with Capital Cities, a media
company worth approximately ¼ of ABC's net worth, Buffet helped finance a $3.5 billion
dollar deal in exchange for a 25% stake in the combined company. This deal would rock
the media industry as the substantially smaller Capital Cities purchased and then merged with
the juggernaut ABC.
Edging ever closer to his billion-dollar-goal, Warren began buying Coca-Cola stock in 1988,
eventually amassing 7% ownership in the company- one of Berkshire Hathaway's longest and still-held
investments. With Berkshire Hathaway's share of Coca-Cola stock alone worth $1.02 billion,
Warren Buffet at last reached his goal of becoming a billionaire as Berkshire Hathaway
stocks closed at $7,175 a share on May 29th, 1990.
With careful investments built on his lessons learned as a child: preference for businesses
with tangible assets and proven earning power, Berkshire Hathaway would go on to become one
of the most powerful and profitable companies in the world. With Warren Buffet at its head,
he would grow his personal fortune 17 times over just six years after earning his first
billion, earning $17 billion by age 66. Reaching an astonishing $84. 7 billion at age 87, his
real value would be exponentially higher today had he not given away more than $27 billion
to charitable causes in the last decade alone, and although he is one of the world's richest
men, he remains an astonishingly frugal man who prefers a mid-2000s style flip phone over
a smart phone and often has McDonalds for breakfast.
From dirt-poor to one of the wealthiest men on earth, Warren Buffet is a true capitalism
success story and hero of the free market. Yet with today's widening wealth gap, skyrocketing
health care costs, and the difficulty for lower-income families to find credit at affordable
rates, is Warren Buffet's incredible success story still possible today? Let us know your
thoughts in the comments section below, and as always if you enjoyed this video don't

ENO Vulcan Underquilt og AhlsenFilm visit - Duration: 12:49.
Hi, I'm Thor, this is Skogfar. I'm hanging out in the forest and want to show you
a quilt
from ENO Vulcan
but I have been so fortunate to get a visitor. Let us see here!
Do you think the mosquito is having second thoughts now, getting pumped full of cancer medication?
- Yes, you never know
- This is Gisle Hillesund
AhlsenFilm
Yes, that too. I am considering changing the name but I don't know yet
Skaufar, is that taken?
- Skaufar is available i guess...
- Then I take that name!
- What are you doing here?
- You are going to teach me how to put up a tent.
But I have no idea...
It is nice here in the woods of Hønefoss
The main road is 50 meters that way
But the mosquito don't care
- we neither
- I couldn't be bothered carrying all this too far...
- You have brought some equipment?
- It is overkill, but I look very professional
- Finally someone admitting that
- That is why you have special film language and terms too
- Let us look at the quilt
I bought a bigger stuff sack, the original was so small
or, I lost is, but
this stuff sack has room for
quilt and sleeping bag
so I can put both in same bag
It is ENO Vulcan
I bought it from speider-sport.no
I am waiting for a tarp from them alså but
we go through the quilt first
It looks like half of a sleeping bag
and that is the point, it will hang under the hammock
We have chock cords up in here
If you loosen it
it become rather straight
You use these to tighten the short ends of the hammock
and on the side here we got
shock cord
running through the long side of the quilt
and to the other short side
so it has two short ends
and those are going on the
straps on the hammock
and this is going on the bottom
I notices that the quilt was
rather loose
a knot
It was loos but I just tightened it with a knot
so we hang it on the straps
on each side of the hammock
just put it in here
in this
with one hand...
then you lift the hammock into the quilt
Then you are good to go. The quilt is loose here
you don't want cold air
coming inside here
so you tighten it some
and when I sleep in it this will close up and trap the air inside
- Do your character got a name?
- No, I haven't gotten a name for him yet.
- I am nameless!
Where is my hat?
There is the hat!
Yes!
- We do not film the legs..
- No...
- Woooo!
- Blooper one!
- How do you get into this thing?
And does it manage 0.1 metric ton?
There, just to get into it!
Wæh! Woo! Waee!
I will relax here. See you later!
- This is life!
- Bloody mosquitos, go away!
- Make your own blood!
- This was lovely. I don't want to make movie, I just want to be here...
- Just put my arse into it
It was a good purchase, I am very happy with it
Here is a plea to all seamstresses in Norway!
Everybody who make sleeping bags and stuff:
Please start to make underquilts!
Please make a Norwegian underquilt
because people in Norway are buying them from all over the world
because there are no good norwegian alternative
Please just
sow something together and stuff it
with feathers or fabric.
It is easy as that and just call it something norwegian.
That is a goldmine!
People love norwegian-produced stuff
A good example is Draumr hammock from Amok, it is very popular, so those who want to make quilts
will make money!
You can call the quilt Skogfar, but that is 20% for me
Let us see what Gisle is up to
and you can watch his channel
That was a noice from GoPro so that isn't dangerous
It is lovely
Sitting in the woods
Thinking about
making me coffee while he is a busy bee
- Clever with only two microphones
- The summer is sooo easy being out
than the winter.
It is hard getting parphine to burn in the winter
you have to burn it hot with another paraphine that is warmed by the body heat
- But what if the methylated spirit leaks out? - It will...
I have tried methylated spirit on my body and that is not that pleasant
- I forgot a small thing
to make it dramatical
- We are not playing store here
Everything will be used!
This is not a normal Skogfar-shoot!
I will have no part in that
Alot of equipment but
Gisle is studying movie-making, what is the name of the school?
University of Agder
- You have a clapper too?
- It is called a Slate
- Can you tell me about it?
- Yes
- I can demonstrate it
one way or the other
- I will just put this on first
- bla bla bla bla
- But Slate!
Alot of functions, first they are tuning
the colors with those
and it is the first thing
the camera records so the thumbnail on the computer
tells you what scene it is
and when you get the sound
it will syncronize with a clapp
it is very important if you have more than one soundtrack
and one camera
and it tells who
is in charge and who does what
If you don't have a slate and want to be pro you do this!
Mmmmmmm
Purty Boil!
This video is NOT sponsored by
Coop coffee, boilgrinded dark and powerful.
It could have been
nudge nudge
Then you use your eye measurement
put some up in it
There
and you use a stick
there
and it will rest for 10 minutes
se put it into the watch
if you want to see what Gisle is making you
visit his channel AhlsenFilm
It is a link here (but on the other side...)
and there are one under this video in the description
- He is a clown, I can vouch for tht
It will be exciting to see, I will see the video at the same time as you will
after I have linked it here
Thank you so much for watching and we will see each other next time!

Wynonna Judd's Daughter Sentenced to 8 Years In Prison - Duration: 1:41.
On June 25th, 2018, Radar Online reported that Wynonna Judd's daughter, Grace Pauline
Kelley, had been sentenced to eight years behind bars for violating her probation.
This, unfortunately, isn't the first time, as Kelley reportedly has a history of problems
with the law.
According to Radar Online, Kelley was arrested at a Walgreens in Nashville, Tennessee on
December 18th, 2015 after authorities found a box of pseudoephedrine and a receipt for
Coleman fuel, both used in making methamphetamine.
It turned out that Kelley had made multiple pseudoephedrine purchases in the past, and
she was arrested on charges of drug manufacturing.
That was just the start of the young woman's problems.
She was arrested the following year for allegedly fleeing justice, and in May 2017, Kelley pleaded
guilty to a multitude of drug charges in Williamson County Court, along with similar charges in
neighboring Maury County.
She was subsequently ordered to pay a fine and sentenced to 11 months and 29 days in
jail, although she was later released on probation and ordered to attend an in-house rehabilitation
center.
Kelley reportedly fled from the recovery program on November 21st, 2017, leading to a warrant
for her arrest that was served on December 16th.
Now, Kelley's been ordered to serve eight years at West Tennessee State Penitentiary.
A rep for Williamson County Detention Center told Radar Online:
"Her probation was revoked on February 8th, 2018.
She was sentenced to serve eight years.
The meth manufacture, delivery, sale and possession with intent charges run concurrent with charges
at Maury County."
Kelley's release date is slated for August 10th, 2025, although she'll be eligible for
parole on February 4th, 2019.

Okay first thoughts here, it gives me that sort
of a combination look between what we've seen on the iPhone
app and what we also see on the on the web page. You can see
down on the left hand side, we can see the record function.
It says capture your voice or sounds around you. The pink or
the purple one I should say. This next one down Record with
Friends. Record with your friends anywhere in the world.
So that's the collaboration feature. The green one
Voice Messages add messages submitted by listeners to your
podcast. Music add full length tracks from Apple Music and
Spotify. And of course you can only use that for podcasts that
are going on Anchor only. The pink one,
which is actual pink this time, Transitions.
Breakup segments with themed transitions. And then finally
the purple one at the bottom, Library. And browse all
the audio you've created or uploaded to Anchor.
So we've got those three options here. And we can see down
on the right hand side there's a big open area for Episode
builder. So as we add elements we can see them all lining up in
that window. And down the bottom we can see there's two buttons,
we've got the microphone logo it says Create. And then we've also
got the one here, I'm gonna tap it, Profile which shows the
profile for your actual podcast. It shows your past podcast
episodes and you can look at some menu options on the right
hand side that talks about different aspects.
It shows you the name of your podcast. Let's have a quick look
at those first and then we'll get back to the podcast building
because we covered a lot of that already on the previous
video which I linked up in the card right in the corner
right now which is our initial Anchor look. Because back when
we recorded that video, the only app that you could get
was the mobile app which on iOS was only the iPhone one.
If you're using an iPad you would just get the iPhone
interface. There wasn't a dedicated iPad app
but now there's a dedicated iPad app, and that's what we're
checking out today. Let's have a look at it activity here,
which I think will give us things that have happened
like people who have favorited your podcast, account settings
is where we get to set up all the different things,
and then we've got our podcast settings all to do specifically
with the settings podcast as opposed to settings of your
account. So this is the one where it talks about my podcast
name, where I can edit my description, my category,
language and market if it's explicit content or not.
Obviously talking about content creation and podcasts it's not
explicit. And then we got the distribution where
it actually tells you all the links to all the different
places where your podcast is being distributed so we can
see Apple Podcast, Google Podcasts,
Spotify is currently blank so it's not being distributed to
Spotify at the moment. Breaker, Cast Box,
Google Play Music, Overcast, Pocket Casts,
Pod Bean — there's no link for Pod Bean, Radio Public,
a Stitcher and Tune In still blank as well. So these are ones
that are some of the newer ones that haven't linked up yet.
Probably when I publish more content then it'll will probably
set me up in places like Pod Bean and Stitcher,
Tune In and Spotify. So but you know, my coverage is already
pretty good — Radio Public, Overcast,
Podcasts, Google Play Music, Cast Box,
Breaker, Apple Podcast and Google Podcast are probably
the big the big two and that's why they're at the top.
Okay let's head back to the creation part of the screen.
So gonna tap back on the microphone there.
Let's go into the record screen gonna tap that. Okay so we get
a little bit of a window here like we would if we were on the
mobile app. So we've got the press and hold button to record.
I think if I just tap it, it will start recording as well.
Let's just have a bit of an experiment.
Okay I've got to hold it like the iPhone app I've got to hold
I just tapped that once. It's probably one thing downside
is you've got to hold it while you record. I understand why
that is on the iPhone, especially if you're walking
around you're sort of holding it. But here I am. I'm set up
on my desk I've got my iPad in a little stand. I don't want
to have to hold my thumb or my finger to the screen, so maybe
that's something that they could be improving, so Anchor,
if you're watching this, maybe have the option
on the iPad so you could just tap to record. Okay let's give
it a go again because we want to record at least something for
the walk through demonstration we're doing now.
"Skipping through at Fast Foward"
Okay, now the interesting thing that you can see here,
is it gives you two options here to trim or to save.
This is a new feature in the Anchor iPad app, and that's
to actually be able to trim what you've just recorded.
This is a killer feature because before if you muffed up
you have to go back and start again. But I'm going to get a
trim…
now we can definitely see there's the audio waveform there
so we can see it definitely recorded. So that's just
plugging in there. So we recorded about 29 seconds of
stuff, so I'm just going to say Save and Trim because I trimmed
the beginning there. Save.
At that point like the iPad ahh the iOS or Android app,
it asks if I want to add that portion of my recording to
an episode and then we can give it, we can even give the segment
a name.
And we got some settings here, we can go to the cog here.
Interesting here, we can actually add it to a number of
places here. We can add it to an existing episode, which is a bit
silly if it's something we've already published complete
completed so we're not going to do that. We can have a new
episode. I might just save it to the library,
and we'll call this… then we're going to click save to Library.
So now it's in our library. So we're going in the library,
you see the little loader there to say we're loading something
into the library, and I don't know why but there's two
instances of that. We'll come back to that. Let's go back to
the main screen here. Now Record with Friends option
is basically anybody who is also somehow related to us via
Anchor. They've already got the Anchor app.
Voice Messages of course are people who've done call ins.
So there there's a couple of them I could use.
Of course the music part is only useful for your actual Anchor
broadcast. Anything you do through any of the distribution
platforms you cannot use Apple Music or Spotify because
of the copyright issues of using that music, but obviously Anchor
have a special licensing deal that anything through their
platform and stays native on that platform that they can
actually use the Apple Music or Spotify platform content.
Okay, our Transitions of course are little little interludes
that play between segments on a podcast. And we go to Library.
Let's just add our intro that we recorded just now. Now put out
of the Library and placed it where I want to. So this is
interesting. Now we have the functionality of being able
to not only bring things in from past recordings of stuff,
we can actually have the option of rearranging these so let's
add a transition here. Obviously if I rearrange I could
just drag and drag at the top there is episode 8, I can
actually give it a unique name. Now I could record more
information, more more segments, throw a transition in between,
maybe throw in a recording from that I've done through the
Anchor app. The only thing that still hasn't been done here,
is being able to bring in pre-recorded content from
outside of Anchor, which you can do on the web
version… unless there is an option through Library?
Yes this is, Import. Here we go.
If we go import, I did I did hear that you should be able to
do this, so we can go. There's nothing recent in open
documents we can browse. Now it's using the functionality
through the Files app where you can access apps that are
compatible with the Files app and pull audio out. So I don't
have any of that loaded up but I could certainly import stuff
into my Anchor library and use it. I can go back and grab old
segments that I've recorded here. So the good news is I can
bring in audio from third party places. I can record it here on
the app. I can get all the other extra features are there,
then I can build and publish my podcast right from my iPad
desktop. Have you ever considered doing a podcast
for your YouTube channel or ahh for your business?
I really encourage you to check out the Anchor app whether its
on your iPhone, your Android device or even the iPad app.
They even got a a web based system that you can check out
over on their website. If you haven't watched the earlier
video that I did that covers the mobile and the web apps,
then check out the link in the card right now and get
all up to speed. If these type of videos on platforms and apps
are helpful to you, make sure to Subscribe and if you really
like to video, give it a like, a thumbs up but make sure
if you think this is helpful for someone else,
to share the video with them. This is Doug from Doug Hewson
YouTube, and we'll catch you later!

The Sound of VidCon - Duration: 5:22.
-Generally, the sound of vidcon is a beep.
It's just a lot of "beep, beep," intermittently throughout the day.
[machines beeping] -People shuffling, trying to get into seats
at a panel.
Like hearing the shuffling of people's pants and feet, and sitting down, but needing a
chair.
It's like subtle, little sounds.
[quiet chatter]
-just the hum of kind of electrical air conditioning things.
-the low hum of the convention center building itself…
[low hum, off-camera chatter]
[Sarah] It's like there's always something going on near you, but there's definitely
something very exciting that you cannot distinguish going on in the next room.
You know when somebody says, "What's up tonight?" with a big crowd
everybody just yells "woo!"
-Hi, everybody! [All cheer]
-That hasn't been the sound.
It's more of just that, "Oh my god!" like that "Oh!" that people say at the beginning of like,
"Hey a human that I know and I love" but actually have a personal connection with,
that's been the sound of VidCon for me.
-Crowds.
People Talking all at the same time, and this just constant din of humans in a large group.
[Chatter, distant cheers]
-I hear a lot of doors closing and opening, and people going into places.
[doors click]
-Right now we're next to a fountain, and
I love it.
It's just so soothing.
[flowing water]
[Adele-Elise] I never thought about it as
communicating before, but now that you mention it, I find that people walking past the fountain
tend to get a little bit quieter.
'Cause there's this sort of aura of peacefulness around it, people like kind of chill a little
bit, and then their conversation picks up more.
[flowing water]
-Tearing the paper to create the art assignment project that we were just doing.
That's a very distinct and very satisfying sound.
[Steve] I was inspired at VidCon by composer Hildegard Westerkamp's project of soundwalking.
Westerkamp defines a soundwalk as "any excursion whose main purpose is listening to the environment.
It is exposing our ears to every sound around us no matter where we are."
There are many ways to do a soundwalk, and Westerkamp has many suggestions on her website.
But I always like to start with what sounds like a simple question:
Can you hear your feet?
Can your feet hear?
What do they hear?
What is the most imposing sound in the room?
Does that surprise you?
What is the quietest sound in the room?
Do you like it?
What else do you hear?
Respond to the sound.
What does it make you do?
What else do you hear?
Do you hear something crisp?
Do you hear something flat?
What else?
What else?
Do you hear something you can't describe?
Give it a shot.
I will give the last word to Westerkamp herself, who closes a poem on soundwalks like this:
"So far you have isolated sounds from each other in your listening and gotten to know
them as individual entities.
But each one of them is part of a bigger environmental composition.
Therefore reassemble them all and listen to them as if to a piece of music played by many
different instruments.
Do you like what you hear?
Pick out the sounds you like the most and create the ideal soundscape in the context
of your present surroundings.
What would be its main characteristics?
Is it just an idealistic dream or could it be made a reality?"
