Waching daily Jun 28 2018

Hi Stuart Bahn here and this is part 2 of Hendrix style rhythm guitar. In the first

video we looked at major chords, so that was this kind of thing. In this video

we're going to look at minor chords. So I'm going to play an A minor

and also I'm going to be playing a D minor.

So that is CAGED shape 1 Am; CAGED shape 4 D minor. And just like with the

major pentatonic phrases that Hendrix often played over major chords

he also tended to play minor pentatonic phrases over minor chords instead of

sticking like glue to the one chord shape. So the kind of thing I'm talking about

is this. Here's an Am. So let's say I had a bar of Am going round around.

Now the notes that go very well with this chord are the A minor

pentatonic scale so that's these notes.

Now when it comes to rhythm guitar it doesn't sound so good to pick out very

very high notes on their own such as... because that's not really how rhythm

guitar goes. We tend to need lower notes and preferably a couple of notes at a

time. So this is the kind of phrase that you sometimes hear Hendrix doing...

And so on. So I'm just playing around with this little sequence of notes there.

And again I'm trying to do, say, a couple of time, most of the time, to keep it

sounding like rhythm guitar. The same thing applies to the D minor

chord shape, that's shape 4. So the D minor pentatonic scale that fits over here is this

Slightly more awkward in that you have fret six here instead of having

them all on the line on fret 5 like with the A minor. But you can still make use

of this it's not that hard. So again using a bar of D minor and ad

libbing I might do this...

and so on. So just like before with the previous video

I recommend trying both one-bar phrases and half-bar phrases. So one bar is what

I was doing there...

Half a bar would be...

and so on. With the Am...

Sorry that was one bar, let me try that again. Half a bar...

and so on. Then try changing between the two of them. So let's try Am and then Dm.

And so on. As usual I recommend putting lots of time into doing the sort of thing

endlessly so that it becomes just a normal part of what you do when you play

rhythm guitar. As I said in the previous video it's a lot more fun if you're

playing in a duo or on your own to be able to throw in these kind of musical

ad-libs rather than just strumming a static chord round and round. I hope

you found that useful please give it a thumbs up if you did. See the next video.

Kyrie Irving Is a Big Fan of the Musical Rent - Duration: 6:35.

-Congratulations. I know you had your premiere last night,

which went great.

This was a character you played in some Pepsi ads.

-Yeah.

-You actually wrote and directed a couple of them.

They were really popular online.

But when they came to you and said, "Hey, that guy you played

in the Pepsi ads, we want to make a full movie about him,"

what was your first reaction?

-I couldn't believe it. -Yeah.

-I really couldn't.

You know, it started as an idea of a movie

in Santa Barbara about three years ago.

They approached me.

I was like, "I don't know if I'll ever have the time

to really act in a movie."

And then I thought coming on set,

I was just gonna kind of feel my way through it.

I completely tanked my first day on-camera.

I was really, really terrible.

For a week and a half solid, I was --

But the opportunity itself -- I enjoyed it.

Got to be around a great production crew,

great cast, great director.

-I'm not just saying this,

because the movie is really funny, but the movie has

a really nice emotional arc, and you're very good in this film.

It's really fun to watch.

You also have to, of course, play basketball

in all that makeup.

I would imagine that's three or four hours of makeup

to get into that?

-Yeah, 3 1/2 hours solid.

-And then you're playing basketball in Atlanta.

-105 degrees.

-So, how was that? -Intense.

I mean, it was, like, really intense.

But, in the back of my mind, I was like,

"In order for this to look great, just commit to it, man.

Just commit to it, sacrifice, whatever the time may be,

set calls, you know, shooting for 18 hours,

something like that."

I think my appreciation for actors, in general, just --

it grew, especially after filming that.

-Did you -- During this past season, after you filmed it,

were there nights where, even if it was, like,

a back-to-back and you played the night before

where you were thinking, "This is still not as hard as

wearing old man makeup and playing in 105-degree heat?"

-You're absolutely right. -Yeah.

Now, all of a sudden, the NBA seems easy.

-Oh, man, when I left that set, though, I was so elated.

-Yeah. -So elated.

-Well, yeah.

The secret is -- movies are super-fun to watch.

They're super-awful to make.

-Yeah. Yeah. I agree. I agree.

-There's a lot of guys who, obviously, were playing

when you were growing up --

Shaq, Chris Webber, Reggie Miller.

What was it like -- I mean, obviously, you've met

those guys, I'd imagine, over the course of your career.

What was it like hanging out with them

for the course of a whole set?

-It was really fun.

Shaq has an incredible energy about him.

He comes on set. He's, you know, the loudest.

He's obviously the tallest and the biggest on set.

And then, you know, Reggie, seeing him get outside

of his personality a little bit.

"C-Webb" making fun of himself.

But he did an unbelievable job, and as well as Nate and Lisa.

I just tried to pick their brains about, you know,

what was life back in their day,

you know, for playing professionally?

And, you know, they've laid down a foundation.

So I wanted to pay homage to them and, you know,

really show them that I appreciate

what they've done for me.

-Obviously, you guys play ball in the movie.

Did you ever get competitive when you were out on the court?

-Oh, yeah. -Yeah.

So those guys are still very competitive.

-Yeah. That's all they can be, though, is competitive.

-Right.

-Like, I just got to --

I got to let them know every single time.

-Was there any one of them

that was the most competitive of the group

or were they all of them?

-It was me. -Yeah.

-It was me.

I had something to prove to them, like Shaq.

"You're lucky I didn't play when you played."

Yeah, I was like -- Yeah, just talking

a whole bunch of crap to them.

It was fun.

-So, this is about, basically, a tournament in New York

called the -- Is it the Rucker Classic?

-Yeah, at Rucker Park.

-And your dad actually played in it.

-Yeah. -And was an MVP of it.

And your dad played at B.U.

So he must have thought it was fantastic

that you were making a movie about something

he actually played in.

-Yeah, for sure, for sure.

-And you played when you were --

What age were you when you played in it?

-The first time I was going to play in it,

but it rained that day, it was --

I think I was 17 years old.

And we ended up playing in another gym.

And then I went to the park again

when I think I was like 22.

-Gotcha.

-Yeah, went out there and just kind of

started ballin' a little bit.

-And was it as exciting as it comes across in the film,

the actual being there?

-Yeah, no, you become enriched with the culture.

It's literally just a man on the mic,

and he's hyping up everything that's going on out there --

you know, embarrassing plays, you know, really good plays.

And I think that really just gave me

my toughness in the league to kind of just be

an entertainer, as well as a pure basketball player,

so you find that balance.

-In high school, you also did do theater stuff, though.

Is that correct? -Yeah.

-So you did not come into this cold.

-I was awful, though. -Oh, really?

-Yeah. I was awful. -Even in high school?

-Yeah, no, I was awful, man.

-Did other people tell you you were awful

or is this self-judgement?

-Self-judgement. -Okay, gotcha.

-No, I literally joined the "High School Musical"

when I was a senior in high school,

wanting to get a day off of Monday.

I wanted a three-day weekend, so if you acted in it --

You know, everyone remembers how school used to be like that.

For the play, play members get a day off on Monday.

It's like, "What?" So I did that.

But then, most importantly, to be able to compose myself

in situations like this.

I wanted to be better at public speaking,

so I did that just to overcome a fear.

-What was the high-school musical

that you guys did?

-I think it was the first one.

-Oh, you did "High School Musical."

-Yeah, we did "High School Musical," the play.

Yeah. I was like... [ Both laugh ]

[ Cheers and applause ]

-That would've been like if "Uncle Drew"

was called "Basketball Movie."

I'm like, "What's the name of your basketball movie?"

You're like, "'Basketball Movie.'"

-Oh, oh.

-So, you were in the first "High School Musical."

And then is it true that

you are a huge fan of the musical "Rent"?

-Oh, yeah. I love "Rent." I love "Rent."

-But you've never seen it live. -No, no.

-Just the movie. -Just the movie.

-How many times would you say you've seen "Rent"?

-Over 20. -Over 20.

-Over 20. -Gotcha.

And is it something you put on when you're feeling

a certain way or is it just like, some days,

you're like, "I'm gonna go get some 'Rent'"?

-No, man.

Well, I got to tell you about the conversation

that I have with, you know, telling my friends

like, "Yo, 'Rent' is my favorite movie."

Then it's just like, "You guys don't want

to watch 'Rent' with me.

I get it. I get it."

But, you know, I think the appreciation just of

song and, you know, how it was produced

and the issues that they were pressing on.

It was at a time -- I was 15 years old,

just randomly scrolling through Showtime or HBO, one of those,

and then kind of just stumbled upon it.

-Well, there you go.

-Yeah. It's, like, my favorite one.

-There you go.

And I am a Celtics fan, so I have to ask, obviously.

-Appreciate that. -Of course. Thank you. Thanks.

-Yeah, I appreciate that.

-How are you feeling, health-wise?

Do you think you're gonna be ready, everything,

when we start it up again?

-For sure. I can't wait.

-Feeling optimistic about the season?

-More than optimistic. I can't wait.

-Yeah, I would say I'm with you on that.

-Yeah, once July hits, it's like, "This is great."

The movie premiere, going to junkets, and stuff like that.

But once July hits, it's pretty narrow,

in terms of what the focus is.

-All right, well, hey, man, thanks so much for being here.

Congrats on this film. It was really fun to watch.

Thank you so much. Kyrie Irving, everybody!

Ghost Tutorial: Creating A New Story - Duration: 3:31.

This video is one of the videos in a playlist called Ghost Tutorials, where you will learn

everything about Ghost.

Checkout the description for the link.

In this video, I will show you how to create a post or article in your Ghost blog.

So, posts or articles in Ghost are called stories.

There are two ways you can create a new story.

From anywhere in the Ghost admin dashboard, click on this new story menu button and start

writing.

But if you are in the Stories page like I am, then click on the new story button.

This is the story editor in Ghost.

Personally, I feel that it is a lot cleaner than the WordPress post editor.

If you are kind of a minimalist person, then you can click on this little area and hide

the sidebar to get an even cleaner editor.

Now the first thing I do, when writing a story in Ghost is to set a title.

We can change it anytime later but we need to set a title first.

Let me set the title of this video as our story title.

Note that as soon as we gave a title to our story, Ghost gave our story a unique URL.

It means that our new story is now a draft.

Anything t chat you do here won't be lost.

In this video, you won't be learning Markdown.

I have 4 videos about Markdown in my channel which did not meet the current standards,

so I will make a new single video about Markdown and you can find it's link in the description

once it is published.

For now, I will just tell you how to use the editor.

In the top left corner, is the status label where you will find the status of your story.

Weather your story is a new one, or a draft or published.

On the top right corner you will find a publish label and a settings icon.

In the next video, I will show you everything in the settings panel.

Clicking on the small arrow near the publish link will reveal other publish options.

Here you can set a time and date to automatically publish your story.

On the bottom right corner, you will find the word counter.

It is recommended to have at least 300 words in your story if you want a good position

in Google search.

Now let me add some demo content to show you some other features of the Ghost story editor.

Now that we have some content, you can preview your story by clicking this render button

in the tool bar.

The next type of previewing is Side-by-Side which is also my favorite.

For that click on the Side-by-Side button.

On the left side you will write your story and on the right side you will get a real

time preview on how it looks on the actual website.

We all make mistake somewhere that we don't know.

So the next button to the Side-by-Side preview is the spell checker button.

Once clicked it will highlight the words which are not spelled correctly.

The next feature is very awesome if you are a person who tends to messup with your story.

If you enable the Hemingway mode before writing your story, you can't use the backspace key

so you should complete writing your story and then disable it to edit the story after

you have wrote everything.

Finally not everyone is an expert in Markdown, so the button after Hemingway mode is the

Markdown help button.

Clicking on it will reveal some basic Markdown syntax help, which is useful I you are new

to Markdown.

Markdown is a better way of writing a story, posts or article.

You don't need to know HTML in-order to write articles and also you don't need to use those

crappy WYSIWYG editors.

In the next video, I will show you the settings panel and how the settings work.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers - S03E18 - Episode Review - Duration: 7:05.

Welcome to Ranger Reviews, a webseries where we look at episodes of the tv show, Power

Rangers and then discuss it!

Today, we're exploring the hundred and thirtieth episode of Mighty Morphin Power Rangers as

well as the eighteenth episode of Season 3, titled "A Ranger Catastrophe Part 2".

We begin this episode right where we left off in the Command Center.

The five rangers don't know what to do between Rito and Tommy.

Zordon says that they can't locate Tommy, and suddenly, Tommy goes unconscious, and

they lose the signal.

Kat then teleports out of there, turning back into a cat in Rita's lap.

Rita says they have the White Ranger right where they want him.

Goldar asks if he can fight Tommy, and Zedd lies, saying that Goldar has earned that right.

No he hasn't.

Goldar leaves.

In a random cave, Goldar walks up to Tommy, just talking and talking to a sleeping Tommy.

In the Command Center, Zordon tells the Rangers to stop worrying about Tommy because they

need to stop Rito.

It's morphin' time!

The five Rangers show up in a field, and they talk to a giant Rito for no reason before

Rito just breathes on them?

Whatever, they call out their Ninjazords, and once again, we're getting individual

Zords fighting!

The bear zord causes an earthquake while the frog shoots fire.

The crane shoots lasers while the ape zord uses a staff, but then Rito materializes a

flame thrower on his arm out of nowhere?

They don't let Billy do a damn thing, immediately forming the Ninja Megazord.

The Megazord then just walks through explosions before they apparently just knock off Rito's

arm?

Then they punch him down, and Rocky makes an outdated honeymooners reference by saying

"to the moon, Rito".

Rito appears in the moon base, and Rita is confused for a moment, but then she just gives

up trying to understand what happened.

Way to go, Rita.

She then says it's time for plan B.

In the Command Center, they've tried to retrace the signal from Tommy's communicator,

but evidently, there's a powerful shield to prevent them from learning where Tommy

is at.

Then, Tommy wakes up, seeing Goldar.

The car then disappears, dropping him on his ass in the best way.

Then, Rita appears in a horrible staticy filter that does more harm than good because it's

blocking a lot of Rita's face while she's trying to talk.

Tommy demands to know where Katherine is at, and Rita says to be careful because Kimberly

might be jealous because he's spending so much time with some other girl.

Then, Tommy just morphs.

Rita disappears, and Goldar yells at Tommy.

Billy somehow gets a visual on Tommy, and the Rangers see what's going on, and Adam

says "what's going on?" because there's literally nothing happening.

They also don't know where that girl went.

Then, Aisha says that Goldar probably wants Tommy at full strength to fight, but that's

makes zero sense.

They also can't teleport him out because shields or whatever.

Billy says he and Adam need to get to his lab to figure out something.

Tommy and Goldar fight for a little bit before we see on the moon that Baboo and Squatt are

informing Rita of Billy and Adam leaving the Command Center and going toward Billy's

house.

These guys really need something better to do with their lives than watching teenage

boys.

Rita says it's time to enact plan B, I guess, and she zaps the cat she's been holding

this entire time, creating a Cat Monster in the park.

The monster then flies in, landing in front of Billy and Adam who morph right away.

There's a funny fight against the monster with Blue and Black getting thrown into trees

like losers.

Billy then calls the other Rangers for help because this episode needs more padding out,

and the other three morph.

Now, the five Rangers are just fighting the monster in the middle of a cul-de-sac.

They barely fend off the monster before she retreats.

The Rangers split up to do exactly what they were doing before.

On the moon, Rita is pissed that even Plan B isn't working this time, so she yells

for Rito.

He's supposed to go help Goldar defeat Tommy now, walking away.

Meanwhile, Tommy gets tossed onto the ground, and Rito shows up, and they're both beating

the crap out of Tommy.

I love this scene.

Also, where has THIS Goldar been?

Tommy even takes out Saba and tries to fight them off, but then, Saba gets hit out of his

hands.

Meanwhile, Rocky, Aisha, and Kim are watching Tommy get demolished, so they contact Billy

and Adam who are still working on whatever the hell it is they're working on.

Then….

Tommy somehow telekinesises Saba to him or something?

I don't know.

Saba doesn't say anything.

It just… happens.

Billy and Adam are done so they teleport back to the Command Center, and Billy quickly hooks

up his new device to the console, and it gives them the coordinates somehow?

They've apparently penetrated the shields around the palace or something, but they have

to try because if they don't, they're going to die.

Meanwhile, Saba apologizes to Tommy about them sucking, and really, I feel like Saba

is so underutilized.

Then, in the Command Center, everyone holds hands???

And causes color coded energy?

What the hell is going on?

Somehow, that teleports Tommy out of there, and he's in the Command Center.

Tommy is worried about Katherine, but Billy says they can't find her at all.

Rita and Zedd argue about the plan failing, and Katherine walks in, answering to Lord

Zedd before she turns into her monster form again.

He immediately sends her away.

At the Command Center, the alarms go off, showing the Rangers that the monster is back

in the park.

It's morphin' time!

The Rangers show up, and the monster talks shit for a second before Rita and Zedd just

make her giant.

They call out their Ninjazords right away before Ninjor just flies in on a cloud while

screaming his own name, and it made me literally laugh out loud.

They form the Ninja Megazord while Ninjor punches the monster in the face.

Then, Ninjor gets… mad about her not being able to win or something, converting into

Battle Mode.

Then, the Ninja Falconzord attaches, creating the Ninja Falcon Megazord.

Ninjor fires an energy orb at the monster before the Rangers just come down, punching

the monster in the face.

She then falls down, exploding.

Did they… did they just kill that girl?

The Rangers leave their Zords right away for absolutely no reason, unmorphing.

They find Katherine in the park, who apparently didn't get crushed during the Megazord battle.

I mean, I know she was the monster, but the Rangers don't know that.

Also, did she just watch them jump down and demorph?

Whatever.

Zedd talks about how Rita might have been right about using Kat to help them, and we

see the Rangers and Kat walking together.

She tells them that she just moved her because her dad was transferred here and whatnot before

she leaves.

She then flirts with Tommy in front of Kim, and no one even says anything.

Then, suddenly, they see PC in front of them, and Aisha is relieved to have her.

Then, we see the cat's face, and her eyes glow green?

The… end?

Over the credits, we see Bulk and Skull struggle through the park, screaming for cat, and they

find the monster, fainting.

I'm confused if these were just bonus scenes or what.

Wow, a two-parter that ends without everything be resolved may be a first for Power Rangers.

Seriously, I can't think of a time besides maybe Return of an Old Friend where something

was left open in the universe for multiple episodes like this.

Kind of nice to see some real writing being put into this season!

Other than that, I'm confused about Kat as a character because she has so many forms,

and for some reason, she seems to be intended by Rita to break up Kim and Tommy, but like,

why does Rita care.

They'll still fight together because they're barely a couple now anyways.

Buckle your seat belt though because we're about to go into a three-parter!

Until next time, may the power protect you!

Tim Robinson Talks About Detroiters - Duration: 2:42.

-How are you, my friend? -I'm great.

How are you, dude? -Good.

I'm so happy "Detroiters" is back for another season.

But this is a show -- I think when people think about Detroit,

they don't think about

as sort of fun and light as this show is.

And then, were you guys trying to tell a story about Detroit

that you feel like hadn't been told?

-Well, it was -- We were just kinda doing what --

We wanted to show the commercials

that we have in Detroit, which are pretty goofy.

So, we parodied almost --

almost to exactly the commercials we saw growing up.

-So, these were local ads in Detroit.

Were there ones that you got to this year

that you hadn't gotten to in season one?

-Almost every one this year is, like,

a direct parody of something we grew up watching.

So when people watch them, like, "Whoa, that's insane."

They're pretty real.

[ Laughter ] -Really?

'Cause there's a cra-- there's an insane

suit commercial in the second episode.

That is an accurate -- -That is almost shot for shot.

[ Laughter ]

And Sam, who does it, fits in perfectly with it

where he's just like -- every look is like...

-You guys play -- You are sort of idiot ad executives.

Oh, no. Do you not think so?

[ Laughter ]

-I'm playing a smarter version of myself.

-Oh, no. [ Laughter ]

-I have to give all the scripts to a scientist

who punches 'em up.

-Oh, no! [ Laughter ]

An advertising scientist?

-He just said he's a scientist! -Okay.

Wait. So, is this a real thing?

Is "April in the D" a real thing?

-"April in the D" is a real thing.

-Okay. What is "April in the D"?

-It was when Fox Sports Detroit --

when the Pistons, the Red Wings, and the Tigers

were all playing at the same time,

they had this competition where you could, like,

you could submit a song.

Your band could submit a song

that would become the theme song for "April in the D."

So, everybody around metro Detroit would --

Not everybody, but a lot of people would submit videos.

And you can still go online and do a deep dive and find them.

And my brother has one on there, but I'm not gonna say the link.

-Oh, really? -Unh-unh.

-'Cause he would be upset? -It's too good, I think.

I don't want him to -- [ Laughter ]

-Oh, you feel like, if we showed it,

this segment would become about him.

-Yeah. I think he would --

-He'd get a record contract?

-Yeah, and then, he'd turn into a jerk.

[ Laughter ]

-So, what were the parameters?

Just all you had to do is, you had to write a song.

The title had to "April in the D."

-It had to say "April in the D" in it,

and I think it had to mention all the sports teams.

-Gotcha. And, so, would you --

Now, do you ever, like, just as pastime,

go back and look at that and enjoy it?

-No. -Okay.

[ Laughter ] Good. I think it's better --

-No, I do. I absolutely do.

Yeah, we go back -- We actually --

-Well, you got to move on from the past.

You got to leave that there. -Yeah, right.

Thank you. Thank you, Seth.
