Welcome back guardians, on my last Cayde-6 video about his secret message, the one that
decoded to, "ITS ON ENCELADUS" many of you asked, what did Cayde-6 mean when he said,
LONG SLOW WHISPER, what is LONG SLOW WHISPER?
At that stage, I did not have any answers, because Long Slow Whisper does not appear
in any lore entries, its first and only appearance is during the Ace of Spades exotic quest when
Cayde-6 mentions it.
Well, we may now have a clue, and it could have something to do with the Exo Stranger,
hence the artwork.
So, I was cleaning up my PC desktop yesterday, and I almost deleted two screenshots, these
screenshots are from Oryxbng, which is Christopher Barrett's twitch tag, Christopher Barrett
being the game director at Bungie.
He posted this in the podcast I co-host Destiny Down Under on the 18th August, just over 2
weeks before Forsaken released.
At that time, it didn't make any sense, I searched the Destiny Data base for any reference
to LONG SLOW WHISPER without any luck, so I didn't think anything of it.
BUT now that Cayde-6 references the LONG SLOW WHISPER, we may finally have a clue to what
it means.
Of course, I will dissect and explain what the messages could mean, but I will also provide
proof of the validity of these messages, i.e. how do you know these messages came from Christopher
Barrett and not some troll, and secondly, I will also talk about the reliability of
this information, as just because it was said, doesn't necessarily mean it is official.

This is myelin games, and I hope you enjoy this latest Destiny 2 lore episode.
[INTRO] Ok, lets talk about the validity of this message
first, because I know people will be skeptic, and rightfully so.
I will provide links to all of these pieces of evidence below in case you want to look
at it yourself.
If you are happy to trust my word, then I will leave a time stamp on screen and you
can skip to when I dissect these Twitch messages.
Lets start at the beginning.
In April 2018 I attended the Bungie Summit in Seattle, I was very lucky and was able
to meet with Christopher Barrett and a narrative lead from Bungie.
I gave feedback from the community about the Lore and story of Destiny.
The very next week, I was back in Australia and co-hosting the Destiny Down Under podcast
and this message came up in the Twitch livestream.
At first we thought it to be just a troll, but the way it was worded was very odd.
Clicking the Twitch tag and going to the home page of Oryxbng refers to Oryx Design Lab,
Oryx Design Lab is a website run by Christopher Barrett as seen on his twitter.
Three days later on the April 30th 2018 they began releasing the web lore the Destiny 2
Narrative preview, and the message that was posted in the Twitch chat on the podcast three
days prior appeared letter for letter, word for word in the Rasputin web lore.
So that pretty much confirmed that Oryxbng was our one and only lord and savior, Christopher
Barrett.
Moving onto the next time he came into chat and posted something.
On August 17th 2018, 2.5 weeks before Forsaken was released, the following messages were
posted in the Twitch chat.
If you want to see an archive of the video you can find it on youtube under episode 88,
link in the description below and the messages were posted at 1 hour 13 minutes and 1 hours
17 minutes.
I screen captured the messages and then searched Ishtar Collective for anything relating to
Long Slow Whisper, there was no results.
I assumed, if it was anything, like previously, it would be released like some web lore, and
so I saved it to my desktop and didn't think much more about it.
Fast forward to now, I was cleaning up my desktop and was pretty shocked to see that
the message was about Long Slow Whisper and the Exo Stranger, I was particularly surprised
because I know that the only mention of this comes from Cayde-6's dialogue in the Ace
of Spades mission.
One last note before we move onto to actually talking about the messages.
Reliability; just because it was said, does that mean we can trust it?
The answer to that is easily no, the lore is very dynamic at bungie, things can change
very quickly, aspects of the lore can be added or changed prior to launch, so the only thing
you can really say with certainty about these messages, is that at some point, the mindset
surrounding Long Slow Whisper was this, it may have changed since then or it may have
stayed the same, we don't know.
Ok, lets move on to the implications of these messages.
So, Cayde-6 says this in the exotic mission for ace of spades

So, Deep Stone Crypt is thought to be the location of the first Exo consciousness created,
it is thought to be operated by Clovis Bray on an icy moon of Saturn, likely Enceladus
if we believe Cayde-6's secret message.
It is also thought to be the location where Cayde-6 was converted from human to an Exo.
So, from what Cayde says, Long Slow Whisper seems to be related to the Deep Stone Crypt
and the creation of Exos.
However, I also speculated that Deep Stone Crypt is not just the place where humans are
converted to Exos, but also the place where Clovis Bray wipes the minds of Exos.
There is a ton of evidence that suggests that Clovis Bray wipes the minds of Exos, not to
help the human mind adjust to the robot body, but rather to force Exos to forget Clovis
Bray secrets.
So essentially, Cayde-6 is threatening to uncover the dark secrets of Deep Stone Crypt
and Clovis Bray.
So, onto the new messages.
The first messages reads, "Elsie Bray was rejected.
42 times.
Long Slow Whisper."
And the second message reads, "Subroutine 4988.00.XK rejected.
Long Slow Whisper next iteration recommended."
Elsie Bray is believed to be the Exo Stranger, this was hinted at in the Warmind DLC.
Essentially, there was an in-game puzzle that needed to be solved that revealed some text
and also the location of a hidden Valkryie in real life.
The text read, Thank you for taking the time to piece together
this message, friend.
The time of our final conflict is drawing closer and you and ana have an important role
to play in the events to come.
So watch over her, guardian.
I would have no life without ana or the exoprogram.
I regret that we have become strangers, but we each have a path that we must walk.
And, ironically, there never seems to be enough time.
Tell her, rasputin's first attempt was in the right location, but the wrong moment.

The references to ana bray, the exoprogram, saying that we have become strangers, and
the sign off with the single letter e, seems to suggest that the Exo Stranger is Elsie
Bray, another daughter of Clovis Bray.
Prior to the release of Forsaken, the only reference to Elsie Bray was from Destiny 1,
a ship called Eon Trespass, the flavor text for the ship reads,
Born from the mind of Elsie Bray, three years before she disappeared.
With Elsie Bray now mentioned in the twitch messages, with her Long Slow Whispers, with
subroutine rejections, her disappearance now starts to appear suspicious.
In fact, the release of the Warmind DLC also supports that Elsie Bray's disappearance
was under suspicious circumstances because Elsie Bray suddenly left Clovis Bray while
intentionally deleting her research on the way out.
Have a listen to the lore tab for Worldline Zero, which is the Exotic sword released with
Warmind.
In this Lore tab Elsie bray deletes an email form her sister, Willa Bray, and then logs
in as a super user on the Bray network and deletes 1 452 831 files.

I believe Elsie Bray provides additional information to what she was trying to hide in the Lost
Memory Fragment letters which are unlocked throughout the Wordline Zero quest.
It seems that Elsie was trying to hide the weapon Wordline Zero, have a listen.
3 DAYS UNTIL DIVERGENCE If I'm gone that means something terrible has happened to me.
I've wiped all traces of my research, but Willa has security scouring the facility for
me.
She wants to take the weapon I've created, and at this point it's impossible to take
it offworld.
It's way too dangerous to fall into wrong hands so my only choice is to hide it…
The old storage caches in Core Terminus and Olympus Descent are now linked to the Hephaestus
test network.

2 DAYS UNTIL DIVERGENCE I'm out of time.
All I've got to hold on to is the hope that I've moved enough of my tech into the vaults,
and that the visions of the future I've seen are accurate.
That somehow, divorced from time and space, my words find you.
Please tell Ana I'm sorry, and that I never wanted her to be dragged into this.
You were smart enough to break my code, so I'll put my trust in you to use what I've
created to make things right.
One day this will all make sense, I promise.
Elsie Bray seems to distrust her family, and especially Willa Bray so much, she deleted
her research, hid any weapons produced from it and tried to lock any tech into vaults.
This comes as no surprise as we have seen the unethical approaches that Clovis Bray
has taken in the past, especially by Willa Bray, coercing vulnerable people in the community
into participating in experiments, experiments that even caused death.
The other interesting thing is, that Elsie bray claims to have had visions of the future,
and this is most likely due to meeting Maya Sundaresh a vex research who was involved
with developing a piece of equipment known as the Device.
The Device allowed people to look into the Future.
Future War Cult came into possession of the device and many people became crazed after
potentially seeing the Darkness in the future.
So, Elsie Bray is suspected to be the Exo Stranger, has seen the future, does not trust
her family, tries to delete all of her research, and then mysteriously disappears.
When this information was first released in Warmind, I assumed that Elsie Bray's mysterious
disappearance was simple because she became the Exo Stranger… however, now with this
messages with the Long Slow Whisper, it seems more likely that something went wrong when
Elsie Bray was converted to an Exo OR after Elsie tried to escape she was captured again
and sent back to Deep Stone Crypt for a memory wipe.
The twitch message reads, "Elsie Bray was rejected.
42 times.
Long Slow Whisper."
I believe the word rejection is referring to Dissociative Exomind Rejection, where the
human mind rejects the Exo body when it is transferred.
Clovis Bray counteracts this by rebooting the human mind and wiping their memories once
in the robot body.
The number following an Exo's names is the number of times their mind has been rebooted,
i.e.
Banshee-44 has had his mind rebooted 44 times.
SO.. the Exo Stranger, Elsie Bray, was either rejected from her robot body 42 times, or
this could be referring to rebooting and wiping her memory 42 times.
The reason why this is concerning, is that Clovis Bray says it is only safe to reboot
the mind 20 times, which is why Banshee is so messed up.
So, the question is, did Elsie Bray discover something at her father's company and they
tried to erase it, does this explain her mysterious departure?
Did her own father convert her to an Exo to try and erase his own daughter's memories?
The second message in my opinion reinforces that Long Slow Whisper is the protocol, is
the process for wiping Exos memories.
It reads, "Subroutine 4988.00.XK rejected.
Long Slow Whisper next iteration recommended."
When it says next iteration, it sounds like they are saying reboot the Exo mind, the next
number, the next iteration.
So, my best guess for what Long Slow Whisper refers to, is it is the code phrase for wiping
Exo's minds, and they are not wiping their minds to help the Exos, but to suppress some
dark secret of the Clovis Bray company.
As I said, these messages may be seen in future lore of Destiny or they may have been removed,
however it is the best information we have so far.
And with that, that concludes this latest destiny 2 lore episode, if you would like

Bray practice of Exo mind wipes.
