Waching daily Nov 10 2017

- I fell in love with CSU when I was a teenager

and then just reconfirmed that when I came up here

after basic training.

I came home for leave and one of my friends

was up here going to school and I came and stayed

the weekend with him and just had a great time.

I had a few friends in the Social Work program.

There's actually at least 15 veterans

in the Social Work program right now.

I think my favorite social work memory so far

is for the last two years, I've been volunteering

at the Larimer County Veterans Stand Down

at the Catholic Charities in November.

And last year there was a World War Two veteran there,

a little old man in his nineties

and just really humble.

He was in the Pacific Theater as an artilleryman.

There was this little girl that was helping.

She was about nine, 10 years old,

and I grabbed her, and I was like, hey,

do you want to meet a real hero,

and I introduced her to this World War Two veteran

and just standing back and watching

the joy in his face when this little girl

said thank you and gave him a hug,

that was pretty amazing.

I think the main things that I'm learning

is how to think like a civilian.

Being in the military for 20 years,

it's a completely different culture.

It's almost like being from another country

and coming to live in America.

That first semester, that first year,

is gonna be the hardest.

Find a support system, people that you share

like interests with and lean on them.

Lean on them heavily.

For me, that was the people in ALVS,

Adult Learners Veterans Services,

and the people over at New Start.

It's that different mindset,

it's a different period of mental growth.

For a lot of these younger kids,

their prefrontal cortex isn't fully developed yet,

where mine is developed, yet damaged,

so I have to find new ways to learn

which is where our resources for disabled students

and New Start come into play.

You take advantage of the resources you have available

to you, and you can succeed, no matter who you are.

My name's Raleigh Heekin and I am a Social Work student.

Joker's Pencil Trick | The Dark Knight (2008) Movie Clip - Duration: 4:31.

What the hell is this?

As you're all aware, one of our deposits was stolen.

A relatively small amount, 68 million.

Who's stupid enough to steal from us?

Two-bit wackjob, wears a cheap purple suit and makeup.

He's not the problem. He's a nobody.

The problem is our money being tracked by the cops.

Thanks to Mr. Maroni's well-placed sources...

...we know that police have indeed identified our banks using marked bills...

...and are planning to seize your funds today.

And since the enthusiastic new DA has put all my competitors out of business...

- ...I'm your only option. - So, what are you proposing?

Moving all deposits to one secure location, not a bank.

- Where, then? - No one can know but me.

If the police were to gain leverage over one of you...

...everyone's money would be at stake.

What stop them getting to you?

I go to Hong Kong, far from Dent's jurisdiction...

...and the Chinese will not extradite one of their own.

How soon can you move the money?

I already have.

For obvious reasons, I couldn't wait for your permission.

Rest assured, your money is safe.

Oh, hee-hee, aha. Ha, ooh, hee, ha-ha, ha-ha.

And I thought my jokes were bad.

Give me one reason why I shouldn't have my boy pull your head off.

How about a magic trick?

I'm gonna make this pencil disappear.

Ta-da!

It's...

It's gone.

Oh, and by the way, the suit, it wasn't cheap.

- You ought to know, you bought it. - Sit.

I want to hear proposition.

Let's wind the clocks back a year.

These cops and lawyers wouldn't dare cross any of you.

I mean, what happened?

Did your balls drop off? Hm?

You see, a guy like me...

- A freak. - Damn right.

A guy like me... Look, listen.

I know why you choose to have your little, ahem...

...group-therapy sessions in broad daylight.

I know why you're afraid to go out at night.

The Batman.

See, Batman has shown Gotham your true colors, unfortunately.

Dent, he's just the beginning.

And as for the television's so-called plan...

...Batman has no jurisdiction.

He'll find him and make him squeal.

I know the squealers when I see them...

...and...

What do you propose?

It's simple. We, uh, kill the Batman.

If it's so simple, why haven't you done it already?

If you're good at something, never do it for free.

How much you want?

Uh, half.

- You're crazy. - No, I'm not.

No, I'm not.

If we don't deal with this now...

...soon...

...little Gambol here won't be able to get a nickel for his grandma.

Enough from the clown!

Ah, ta-ta-ta. Let's not blow...

- Shit! - ...this out of proportion.

You think you can steal from us and just walk away?

- Yeah. - I'm putting the word out.

Five hundred grand for this clown dead.

A million alive, so I can teach him some manners first.

All right. So, listen, why don't you give me a call...

...when you wanna start taking things a little more seriously?

Here's my card.

Double Decker // TheCandyGuy - Duration: 2:43.

Welcome back to my channel TheCandyGuy where i talk about treats for the sweet tooth

tooth today I'm going to talk about Double Decker

the Double Decker candy bar was introduced in 1976 it's a British candy

that is manufactured by the Cadbury company so the candy bar is named after

yeah you kind of guessed it maybe, the double-decker buses that you can find in

the UK. That is how the candy bar is situated. There's the top deck and a

lower deck. Top deck is nougat and the lower deck is a crisp. So you can see the

top layer is the nougat, the bottom layer has a crisp crunchiness and it's covered in milk chocolate

so lets give it a go

very surprising it has like a coffee taste to it. It's not just milk chocolate

flavor I don't know where the coffee taste is coming from but there's definitely

hints of coffee in this Double Decker candy bar

so yeah the bottom layer is a crisp crunch and the top is the nougat

kind of chewy but dissolves quickly and then the milk chocolate but I was not

expecting that coffee taste. The nougat is kind of too chewy for my taste, I like

softer nougats this one wasn't that soft, and the coffee flavor I'm not a big coffee

lover so, unless it's dark chocolate coffee espresso beans those are amazing

but other than that most coffee flavors I'm not really a big fan so it wasn't really,

I was expecting more milk chocolate so I'm a little disappointed

sorry for those of you that love Double Decker don't come for me. I want to say a big thank you

again to my friend Darkside like he doesn't like his name being shared

online so that's his online name. This is part of his package he gave me of different

chocolates and candies from the UK, Japan, everywhere, anyways. Thank you again to him

I'll have a link in the description to some commercials I found one of them was

an ad that they started advertising "Are you missing something up top" and it was

really weird apparently it's a comedian from that time and he just, yeah it's just out there, out there

Thank you for watching this week's video of TheCandyGuy

Links for the Penny Candy Store and myself will be in the description of this video

I post videos every Friday so I shall see you all next Friday

Have a sweet day. Bye!

Please remember to Like, Comment, and Subscribe to my videos and also share if you'd like. Thank you

How Call Of Duty: WWII Is Censored In Japan - Duration: 2:56.

Call Of Duty: WW2 finally hit store shelves worldwide recently and Censored Gaming has

been able to confirm that the Japanese version has censored the violence in multiple parts

of the game.

The title was released with a Z rating over in Japan, meaning 18 years and up and is the

max rating that a game can get.

However, despite the max rating, Japan's censors will still not allow certain types of content

that are typically allowed over in the West.

The sections affected are instances of dismemberment, with this being removed from the Japanese

version so that the characters' limbs are kept intact.

For much of the main story, the action actually doesn't get too gory.

However, there are a few scenes where some big differences can be found.

Here are the scenes compared...

RTMP Heap Overflow CVE-2016-10191 - Exploiting FFmpeg ft. Paul Cher - Duration: 7:08.

Let's have a look at another ffmpeg vulnerability.

Again Paul will walk us through the vulnerability that he found together with Emil and I try

to understand it and add some comments.

Hopefully to make it a bit easier to understand.

In the previous issue we achieved code execution quite easily, this time we will have to be

much more accurate during exploitation.

This crash was found during fuzzing the RTMP protocol.

This protocol is binary, so let's open this open up in my favourite hex editor called

radare2.

I like to use it when viewing binary files, because it has a very shiny UI.

Nothing too special here, just some binary data.

So let me tell you something about this protocol, while I am launching the binary once again.

RTMP stands for Real Time Messaging protocol, actually it was developed by Adobe for real-time

streaming of audio and video.

The protocol has actually a lot of stuff inside and I had to spend some time learning the

specs before getting into exploitation.

All you need to know about the RTMP protocol so far is that it does a handshake first and

then it starts to transfer data in small chunks and maximum size of each chunk is one hundred

and twenty eight bytes.

Now, let's dig up into the source code once again.

So after passing the version check and doing some handshakes we end up in packet read function

in rtmppkt.c . This function simply reads one bytes of the header and then call the

most important function in a loop.

And this is the function which does all the parsing of the protocol.

There are a lot of structures, functions and allocations and all of them are important.

As you can see each chunk has the channel_id.

It is basicly identifier of each RTMPPacket in the array, which corresponds to its own

buffer.

One channel may be filled by multiple chunks, because maximum size of each chunk is hundred

twenty eight bytes and packet data might be much larger.

Each chunk has fields like size, type, header, timestamp and some extra data.

So if the current channel does not exist yet, RTMPPacket structure is filled in the array

and a buffer is created for it.

So the av_realloc function with NULL pointer means simply, do the allocation ofthe corresponding

size, Otherwise data is just filled in the existing structure and the buffer.

So if you will pay enough attention, you may notice an issue there, when the structure

is filled for the second time, there is not check that the buffer size passed for the

second time is actually the same that the size of the allocation made the first time.

And this how we manage to overflow the heap.

Ah yeah this makes sense.

So the packet contains a channel ID read from the header.

And if this packet was not seen before it will alocate it with the size.

But if an atatcker sends the packet with the same packet id again with a different size

it will not be reallocated.

Let's visualize that.

If we send a packet with id 1 and size 0xa0 it will get allocated.

Then we can send another packet with id 2 and the size 0x80 and it will get allocated

after the first one.

Now we send again a packet with id 1 and a much larger size, like 0x200.

Now we overflow stuff on the heap.

Awesome.

Let's try to gather some primitives from the source code.

So we could allocate a data chunk by sending a new channel ID.

We could overflow the chunk next to it by changing the size

And we could also trigger the reallocation inside the rtmp_check_alloc_array function.

If we send a channel_id large enough we will trigger the reallocation of the control structure

and it will be positioned right after our buffer we can overflow..

By doing this little heap magic we overflow the pointer to the data and get arbitrary

write.

That's a super easy plan.

We just force the reallocation of the array that contains the pointers to the data chunks,

and thus the array will be allocated now after the one data packet we have.

And then we send again a packet with this id to overflow into this array.

And thus control the address of those data chunks and can point it anywhere we want and

thus also write there.

So I already did some preparations before and wrote a little proof of concept, because

most of the work here was counting the offsets.

So there are the functions I wrote.

These are lambdas for packing our integers using little endian.

create_payload function helps me to pack data into the RTMP protocol.

And create_rtmp_packet function will help me to create fake rtmp structure on the heap.

Now let's take a look at the main code.

So here is the handshake happens.

After the handshake I send first payload with size just a bit bigger than 80 bytes in hex,

and some 'A's and the channel_id number 4.

I do this, to create control structure on the heap.

Next I send some data with larger channel_id to trigger the reallocation of the control

structure.

Next I overflow the next heap chunk, which happens to be the control structure and fix

it's size, so that I will have no problems with the heap when I will be allocating more

data.

I position the fake chunk on the place of RTMPPacket with second channel_id.

As you can see there I position a realloc@got.plt instead of data pointer, so I will be able

to write to it.

As my last steps I write to got.plt with some data, and after I use the big channel_id once

again to trigger the realloc function.

All of this should give us control of RIP register.

Let's see.

Super straight forward exploit, right?

If you can overwrite an addresses in the control structure, in this array, you can point it

anywhere and write data to it.

So here is ffmpeg in gdb with the triggered segfault.

And it does, because we have successfully overwritten the .got.plt section.

Achieving code execution should be easy from now on.

I hope that this video motivated you a little bit and shown, that real-life exploitation

may be rather simple and this will encourage you to make your own research.

Good luck.

That is a really great example.

Thank you so much Paul for sharing this with us and all the work you have put into recording.

Make sure to follow him on twitter and check the description for some links.

And don't forget to checkout the podcast episode with Paul, if you haven't listened

How to Animate like Cuphead - Rubber Hose [Scribble Kibble #85] - Duration: 5:37.

Let's make a rubber hose animation!

One of the most important parts is the style of the character art before it even moves.

Take a look at some of the design elements common to those good old school characters.

easy shapes for bodies, like circles humans may have more complex bodies

humans have very caricatured head shapes curves instead of sharp points

simplify, simplify, simplify

You can see my people sketches are getting close, but not quite there yet.

You'll have to draw your character a couple of times to get used to the style, and try

different ways of drawing body parts until they look like they belong in the 30's.

Over here I've done the show mascot, Scribbles, in rubber hose style.

Look at how easy it is to go too far away from the style.

Adding the hair tuft immediately makes the toon too modern, as does the triangular shaped

nose versus a circle.

Once you have a character design, it's time to start animating.

You don't get to be lazy with rubber hose animation, because if you truly want to use

the style you have to draw each picture by hand.

No puppets and no tweens.

I mean, you can cheat if you want but you're going to get Night in the Woods instead of

Cuphead.

Start with something simple like a looping bounce.

Rubber hose characters are usually bouncing to the music.

Begin by drawing the character at the top of the bounce.

Now draw the character at the bottom of the bounce.

Copy the first picture and paste it to the end.

Expand your bounce frames to where you like the timing of it.

Now, create an empty frame halfway between the top of the bounce and the bottom of the

bounce.

Draw the middle position.

Copy your drawing and paste it in the middle of the upward movement to complete the cycle.

With only three drawings you can make a rubber hose loop.

It's easy to change up the timing a bit.

To make the loop super smooth, draw the drawing halfway between each of these poses.

That means in the end you'll have five pictures for the loop.

Even if you are not making a loop, use the method I just explained for drawing actions.

Draw the first key pose.

Draw the next key pose.

Then start making pictures in between those poses to connect them.

You can see how it works in this Flip the Frog cartoon.

Pose.

Move to next pose.

Stop.

Moves to next pose.

Stop.

And on and on and on.

A note for experienced animators - rubber hose animations don't use much easing.

Spacing is fairly linear even during crazy movements.

To make up for no easing, everything is animated on ones and characters stop for three frames

at resting positions before moving on.

So those are basics, but the great thing about rubber hose animation is how trippy it is.

It focuses heavily on visual gags and silly wriggling noodle-ness.

Let's make a shocked expression.

Draw an exaggerated pose.

I'm going to do the heart pounding out of the chest bit.

You can do bug eyes, flailing arms and legs, all sorts of crazy things.

Do a slightly different redraw of that same position.

Loop those two pictures and you have the comical rubber hose surprise effect.

Next take your default art and draw another frame getting ready to move into the extreme

pose you just made.

Add one in between frame.

Here's the animation so far.

Feel free to keep going from here.

While you're drawing, keep in mind the following tips about the rubber hose animation technique:

No smear frames.

While spin lines existed, smear frames weren't invented until the 40's.

No subtle movements or acting.

Use big, exaggerated actions.

Everything flows with lots of in betweens.

For lip sync, VERY articulate mouths, wide open circles, smooth movements between mouth

shapes.

Of course sometimes there's no lip sync at all.

Be crazy.

Next let's do finishing work to the bounce cycle.

The character's outline should be slightly thicker than any detail lines.

In this case you do want to include any main body pieces in the thicker line, even if they

are inside the character.

If you've already drawn your character, you can go around the main lines again with

a thicker brush.

In my case I'm starting with a sketch, so I'll do the thick outline and use the thin

one wherever it's needed.

Next add color, or stick to grayscale.

For maximum authenticity, don't use gradient fills, only solid fills.

Every area of color should be surrounded by a black outline.

Add a background.

Ideally you would make the background by hand with watercolor or acrylic paint.

I slapped in an old digital painting.

Tweak the color settings a bit.

Add a shadow.

For the final step, the problem with drawing digitally like this is the line texture of

an inked paper drawing is, well, a bit more textured.

So to roughen up the animation apply a film grain texture over the animation.

You might have to skip this step if you only use drawing programs and don't have video

editing software.

Choose multiply or overlay as your blending mode, depending on the feel you want.

That's how you make rubber hose animation.

If you're interested in more animation tutorials, browse through the links below or visit the

Have fun drawing!

Hallowed be Thy Name | Dr. Ed Young - Duration: 28:31.

♪ Theme Music ♪

Open your Bibles to Matthew Chapter Number 6.

I'll read Verse 5 and 6.

Then I'll read Verse 9.

Matthew 6:5-6, 9.

Ready!

"When you pray, you're not to be like the hypocrites,

for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues

and on the street corners so that they may be seen by men.

Truly I say to you, they have their reward in full.

But you, when you pray, go into your inner room, your closet,

close your door and pray to your Father who is in secret, and

your Father who sees what is done in secret will reward you."

What He's saying here is, who you are in secret,

who I am in secret-go to bed, what do you think about?

Wake up, what do you think about?

Quiet times, by yourself, what do you think about?

That's the center of your life.

Who you are, who I am is best seen in secret.

What do you think about?

What do you think about?

What do you think about?

And then Verse 9: Jesus says, "Pray then in this way:

'Our Father Who art in Heaven, hallowed be Thy Name."

The first followers of Jesus were like a bunch of kids

-just like a bunch of kids.

Jesus went up to them, and they were fishing, engaged I'm sure

in their family vocation, and Jesus said, "Follow Me!"

They didn't know much about Him, and they put their nets down and

just sort of, the Bible seems to say, spontaneously followed

Jesus like a bunch of kids.

Another'd happen-"Follow Me, follow Me, follow Me..."

and they followed Him.

How old were those guys?

I don't know-maybe older teenagers; maybe early twenties,

mid-twenties, maybe a few in their early thirties,

but they were like a bunch of kids.

And I wonder if they asked-in fact, I know they asked in their

mind, "What is it going to be like in the future

for me to be a follower of this Man?

What's gonna happen in the future as I follow this Man?"

They could never have guessed, could they?

Not in a million years!

Because as they followed Jesus, those Apostles, disciples,

they went from one mind-boggling experience to another.

Blind man-whew!

Now he sees.

Wow!

Oh-ho, whoa!

Lame woman-now she walks!

Whooaaaah!

Whoah!

Wait a minute!

Storm-brrrrooomm!

Quiets the Heavens... .

Hmmm, mind boggling!

Mind boggling...

That was their experience as followers of Jesus.

And then they saw that sometimes they would eat a meal and they

were camping out as they were traveling, primarily through

Galilee early on; and they'd look up and they'd say,

"Where's the Master?"

And they'd say, well, He's gone to pray.

He'll be praying all night..." Hhmm...

They'd be walking down the

road, and He'd walk on ahead, and they'd say,

"Well, what's His hurry?"

And they said, "Oh, look -He's got that crazy look.

He's praying..."

Then He would lag back as they were walking, and they'd say,

"What's He doing back there?"

"Well, He's talking to the Father.

He slipped away over there

behind those rocks on the mountain."

"What's he doing?"

"He's praying."

This went on all the time.

There was this private time Jesus had with the Father,

and the public time He administered the supernatural.

And naturally, they began to ask, "Man, what's His secret?"

And they saw and discovered it was prayer.

Now they were all familiar with praying.

Did you know the pious Jew would pray three times a day?

They would pray in the morning, the Shema.

They had seventeen different petitions they would offer

to God as a ritual -seventeen of 'em.

Count 'em.

So they knew about prayer.

They prayed all their life.

Jesus, I'm sure all His life,

prayed those seventeen petitions every day.

But they saw in Jesus a kind of praying that was

-could I say it-out of this world!

And so they went to Him, according to Luke,

Chapter 11 and said, "We want to learn how to pray like that."

And so Jesus gave them a pattern

of prayer that we're going to look at.

Now somebody may be saying, "We're studying the

Lord's Prayer (yawns...) That's the only thing in the

Bible (yawns...) that I really know.

I don't need to study the Lord's..."

Let me tell you something.

I have preached and taught on

the Lord's Prayer dozens of times.

But in preparation for this study, I haven't looked at one

word, or one note that I've taken in all

the years of studying the Prayer.

I started clean and fresh.

And God shows us things.

You can take the same Scripture and study it, and pray over it,

and meditate; read commentaries, ask people go to Bible studies,

and suddenly you'll pick it up one day, and it's like whewwwww!

So we come here and see that Jesus taught them how to pray

and how important it is that we learn how to pray.

Let me say two things to you.

If you really pray, these two things have to be in place,

okay?

You can say words, rituals, go through the motions...

but if you really pray, you have to have two things operating.

Number one, you have to know Who God Is.

Number two, you have to know who you are.

Got that?

You can't pray unless you know Who God Is, and you can't pray

unless you know who you are.

So you have to know God, and you have to know yourself.

And look what it says, "Our Father..."

Look at all the plural, personal pronouns in the prayer.

"Our, us, us, we..." Not in the Lord's Prayer do

you find one single, singular personal pronoun.

You don't say "My Father".

No, you don't find "My Father".

"My debts..." "My..." It's not there.

It's all plural.

It's "Our..."

It's a corporate prayer.

It's not only a corporate prayer-we say "our".

Guess what?

Jesus is praying with us.

Who gave us this prayer?

Jesus.

He's saying, "Our..." we pray with Jesus.

That's the only way to pray anyway.

We can't get to the Father except through Jesus, and now

Jesus says, "How do you pray?"

We pray "Our".

Jesus prays with you and me when we pray.

I get excited about that when I think about it.

I mean, Jesus is praying with us-"Our Father..."

And we can't pray unless we have

a relationship, a personal relationship

with the Father, and the only way we have that is

through Jesus Christ.

So we begin to see Who God Is, and we pray to the

True and Living God, and that changes

everything about our prayer, doesn't it?

So we have to know Who God is.

Also, we have to know ourselves.

There's a task!

Why do you think God sent His Son into the world?

Well you say, "Oh, I know that one!

I've been to church-to save me."

No, He sent His Son in the world primarily to make out

of you and me a worshipper.

Did you know that?

Our first thing we are to be is a worshipper!

Christ came and took a bunch of rebels

and made us into worshippers!

That's what we are to be-worshippers.

You say, "Well, what does it mean to worship?"

Hallowed be Thy Name.

That's the beginning step of worship.

How do you like the word hallowed?

Have you used that lately?

Now it's a kind of an old-fashioned word.

It's an Anglo-Saxon word.

It comes from the English word, "Hale" H.A.L.E.

Say, "I don't know that word."

Oh yes you do!

We say to somebody, "How are you doing?"

"Well, I'm hale and hearty!"

There it is!

Now what does it mean to be hale?

It means to be holy.

It means to be separate.

It means to be solid.

It means to be complete.

So you say, "How are you doing?"

"I'm complete.

I'm holy.

I'm solid.

I've got it all together.

I'm unique.

I'm complete."

All this is involved in the word, hallowed.

In our translations, most of 'em, even the new modern

translation, they still use the word hallowed.

And some of them have reverend, reverent, "Reverent be Thy

Name..." uh, "Unique be Thy Name", "Special be..."

But you can't beat hallowed.

Hallowed...

Because this leads us to worship.

Now what is worship?

Simple definition.

By the way, if you ever write anything down, this might be

what to write down, but I don't want to upset anybody.

Worship is to feel in your heart.

It's to feel in your heart, and to respond with wonder,

awe, and humility.

It's to feel in your heart and to respond with "Aahh!

Ohh, ahh!"

and wonder, and humility.

You meet God, and God meets you!

Worship.

Did you know we were all built to be worshippers?

That's the primary reason God sent His Son into this world to

clean up our act on the Cross of Jesus Christ

so we're able to worship?

Have a Divine appointment with God to worship?

We are called primarily-you say, "Who am I?"

I'm a worshipper, if I'm in Christ.

Who is God?

He is a Father, our Father.

So we know Who God Is, and we know that we are worshippers;

but in our society, how we have moved

away from being worshippers.

How far we've moved away from that.

There is Moses in the wilderness, remember?

All the people were thirsty.

They were dying, and God said, "Moses!

Speak to the rock..."

and Moses took that rod and struck the rock.

Water came forth, but God says, "Moses, you have responded to

My sacred request in a very personal,

secular way in striking that rock.

Moses, guess what?

You're not going to go to the Promised Land."

His whole life was about going to the Promised Land.

His whole reason for being alive was to lead the children into

the Promised Land, but because he responded to a sacred request

in a selfish, violent, personal, secular way-bang!

He was prohibited.

He was prohibited...

Did you read in the paper about in a rural church,

a young kid went in there and took a stick

and just smashed everything?

Did you read that?

He just smashed up everything he could find in church in anger?

Just smash, smash, smashed up, broke up the whole church.

The reason was, he came from a tough family.

He had a problem with anger, and he wanted to go on a church

picnic-miss-communication; he didn't get to go.

So he went in there and just smashed up the church.

Say, "Well, that's a horrible thing, the place that's set

aside for God's business to be smashed like that..."

But we realize that you and I are in the smashing business.

We take sacred things; they become secular.

We have smashed up sacred relationships, have we not?

Marriage is a covenant-sacred.

And we've taken marriage and made it secular and say,

"I'm just ready to move on..."

Or we say the dumbest thing of all,

"I just don't love you anymore!"

Pwoo!

As if love is a feeling instead of an action...

We've smashed...

We've smashed through a relationship

between parents and children.

Children are to honor and respect their parents.

Honor and respect...

and there is the Biblical promise, "Long will you,

be your days on this earth, the Lord thy God has given you..."

When you respect and honor, it's a commandment with promise, and

we are to respect and honor our parents, even when they're

wrong; even if they're out of base;

even if you are 81 and they're a 103!

The respect and honor is there.

We have taken and smashed sacred relationships.

And we've smashed sacred days.

Did you know in the Commandments, there's more

written about the Sabbath than any other Commandment?

Than any other Commandment... and we're in the New Sabbath.

We're in the Resurrection Day of Sunday, and therefore,

we should keep this day sacred.

The Scripture says we're to take one day out of seven and set it

aside, and it's God's Day.

But what have we done?

We have squeezed the secular into Saturday night.

It goes on and on, and then Sunday...now we have all kinds

of games, and Little League, and activities, and Sunday

afternoon-my goodness, there's always something going on.

So we have squeezed out the sacred with the secular,

and we forget that that first day of the week is a Holy Day.

We've smashed Sunday.

Also, we have smashed the Sacred Name.

It is amazing to me when I hear people take God's Name in vain.

Let me tell you something-when that happens, you're in deadly

barracuda waters with sharks spinning around, smelling your

blood because God knows that you've not taken His Name and

made it sacred, and that's a big, big problem!

We can't do it.

You say, "Well, how are we going to change?

I'm not a worshipper, really.

I, you know, when I - I'm not a worshipper.

How can I feel in my heart and respond to the Presence of God

with awe, and with wonder, and with humility?

I want to do that.

How can I change?

By praying.

By praying, "Hallowed be Thy Name"

where you recognize that all of life is sacred.

God doesn't look down and say, "Oh, that's secular!

Oh no, no, this is sacred."

That's how we think.

Oh no.

God sees the whole created order.

He sees all of us as potentially sacred in that everybody

was created in His image!

That's tremendous, isn't it?

We come to Christ-that image is beginning to be restored,

and we become sacred.

Everything we touch can be sacred.

Second World War-Wallace is the only one here to remember that,

old enough.

In the Second World War, Hitler came and bombed the

Coventry Cathedral there in England.

And it was totally destroyed, and it was left there in ruins,

and totally outdoors, and they went;

somebody put a sign on the altar of it.

It said, "Father, Forgive Them".

And then in this Cathedral, they had these little chapels,

these little alcoves here, and here, and here, and here,

all these little chapels all the way around it.

And they put signs outside this chapel over here, and it said,

"Hallowed be Thy Name" in business.

Another one said, "Hallowed be Thy Name" in arts.

"Hallowed be Thy Name" in family relationships.

"Hallowed be Thy Name" in sports.

"Hallowed be Thy Name..."

and it went all around that chapel,

saying simply that in every activity of life,

His Name must be hallowed, hallowed.

What would happen to anybody here?

Pick out any of us and say, "In every aspect of my life or your

life, His Name can be hallowed."

You can sign His Name to it.

Say, "Well, you know, I've got some business deals I put my

name to, but I don't want to put His Name to."

You know, "I turn in my travel expenses.

You know, everybody pads 'em.

I put my name; I don't want to put the Hallowed Name to it."

You know, "I have this relationship that you know,

my name is on it.

I'm a part of it, but you know, I can't bring Christ.

I can't put the Name of God, the Name of Jesus to that...

I want to keep that sort of my own mono...

my own property there..."

You see, if we take all of our life, whatever we do,

wherever we are and say in the sense,

"Hallowed be Thy Name..." everything we do is hallowed!

Hallowed be Thy Name in education.

Oh, what a difference.

Hallowed be Thy Name in music.

What a difference.

Hallowed be Thy Name in what we read.

Hallowed be Thy Name in what we watch.

Hallowed be Thy Name on the Internet.

Hallowed be Thy Name!

You see what a difference that would make?

God sent His Son, Jesus Christ, so we could pray,

"Hallowed be Thy Name!"

And if you and I can pray, really pray

"Hallowed be Thy Name" it means we know Who God Is,

and we know who we are.

We are worshippers, and we're praising Him by hallowing,

making special His very Name!

Let me give you the whole Gospel, the whole Good News of

what Christianity is all about in a different way.

Listen to this: The highest became the lowest

so the lowest can become the highest.

Did you get that?

He who was the highest came all around to you and me who are the

lowest so that you and me who are the lowest may go all the

way up to Him who is the highest.

That's Christianity.

Hallowed be Thy Name!

S. D. Gordon has a little book, old book on prayer.

And in this book, he tells a story of a 14-year old boy who

cut class for three days.

And finally in the fourth day, the teacher called,

thought he was sick and said, "How's Steven doing?"

And they said, "What do you mean?"

Mom and dad found out.

I don't know how moms and dads find out.

It worried me my whole life.

And so they brought Steven in.

They said, "Steven, it's a terrible thing.

You've cut class these three days.

You know that, don't you?

"Yes sir."

"But Steven, more serious than you cutting class is

you've lied about cutting class."

He said, "If you lie, you can't be trusted,

and there's nothing worse in life than to run into a liar,

because a liar just can't be trusted."

And they said, "Steven, you understand that..."

"Yes sir..."

And Steven, we're trying to figure out

an appropriate punishment for you.

You're 14, and your mom and I've decided for the next three

nights as you cut school for three days,

you're going to spend, when you come home from school,

all the time in the basement by yourself.

You're gonna sleep down there; you're gonna eat down there;

you're gonna be in the basement for three days when you're

at home, and three nights."

Said, "Yes sir..."

First night, Steven goes down.

Parents are trying to read, and the father keeps-You know, I

don't know why my eyes are so watery tonight.

I just..." And the mother's over there fidgeting around,

picking up, and she says, "I'm thinking about Steven

down in the basement..."

and said, "Yeah, yeah..." He said, "I am too..."

They went to bed about 12:00 o'clock, tossing and tumbling.

He says to her, "Are you awake?"

Husbands and wives understand that, don't you?

You know when the other one's awake.

"Are you awake?"

She said, "Yes."

Said, "I can't sleep thinking about Steven.

I wonder if he's frightened down there, sleeping in the basement.

She said, "I'm doing the same thing."

About quarter til' three, he woke up and sort of dozed off,

and woke up, and dozed off, and quarter to three,

he saw her turning and said, "You awake?"

She said, "I haven't been to sleep at all..."

He said, "I'm going down in the basement and spend

the night with Steven."

So he picked up his pillow and his blanket,

went down the steps into the basement.

Steven was on his bed.

He hadn't been to sleep.

He could see he'd been crying, and the father went down and

lay down by Steve and put his arm around him.

And their tears mingled on each other's cheek, and he said,

"Steven, your punishment stands.

You're gonna be down here these three days and three nights" but

he said, "Steve, I'm gonna be down here with you.

I'm gonna be down here with you."

God woke up one night, picked up His pillow, picked up

His blanket and said, "I'm going down in the basement.

I'm going down in the basement with all of those who are down

in the basement, and I'm gonna to provide a way, not with a

blanket and a pillow, but with a Cross and three stakes.

I'm gonna identify with them on that Cross.

As they will die spiritually, I will die physically and take

their punishment upon myself.

The highest became the lowest so that we who are the lowest in

the basement may be elevated with

a clean life to the highest!

If you and I can really pray, really pray,

"Hallowed be Thy Name", we know Who God Is,

and we know who we are, worshippers.

God is Abba Father.

You and I are worshippers, and we celebrate the fact that He

who was the highest came down to the lowest in the

basement-that's all of us, so we will be forgiven and cleansed,

and we can go up to the highest!

Hallowed be Thy Name!

Let me give you one the most important reminders

in living the Christian life.

Now listen.

Don't confuse the sacred with the secular.

We often talk about the importance of prayer

but sometimes,

I think, we trivialize what prayer really is.

Prayer is a one-on-one meeting with

the Creator of the universe.

Know this, our Holy God gives us the right to call Him

"Father", and to talk to Him through Jesus Christ.

My prayer for you and for myself is that we would understand the

privilege of prayer, and talk to God every day.

We talk, we listen, we wait throughout the day.

We want to help you learn more about prayer were it can be

exciting, relevant, meaningful,

not just some morbid kind of thing.

We want to you give you information about how you can

learn really to listen, to talk, to pray,

to have an attitude of thanksgiving.

And really to communicate with God, as your Father,

as your friend, as your savior, as your Lord.

To talk to God, to listen to God.

So please call the number on your screen.

We have people standing by,

waiting to talk to you and pray for you.

And introduce you, if you desire, to a life of meaningful

communication with the Almighty.

Thank you for joining us today.

We'll see you next week right here, same time,

same station, right here on The Winning Walk.
