there's a funny story on the upcoming descend...

autumntime... lots of leaves and under the leaves a big rock I didn't notice....

since this is an easy road I wasn't focused and my grip was loose... so I went over the bars and was out for 3 weeks

next few months were painful for the injured hand...

good times... not...

recently all the mtb youtubers are producing vlogs...

well I don't know...

I just remembered that I've been doing some sort of vlog videos in the past...

years ago in the videosection of a german mtb-board.

these videos had quite a lot of views back then

the series was called "Sauerstoffmangel" (Lack of oxigen) because funny stuff happened after the exhausting uphills

most of the time with Äxl

I don't mind vlog videos but I don't like to watch them personally... I prefer riding videos with more action and less talk

like the one I'm doing this moment. still riding a bike but it's boring :D

I want to see at least some action... and with my own preferences in mind I try to produce my own stuff... most of the time

just checked my analytics lately... only 13% of the viewers are under 18... guess some are tweaking their age so they can watch +18 content.

but I don't think that's a big number ..quite unusual for youtube I guess

this is actually kind of cool - less headache while reading comments...

although I have quite a lot younger viewers who are in sufficient command of the language - (thx for that! :D)

maybe I'll do some random talk more often on this channel... honestly I don't really care about the extra channel

if somebody is interrested I'm fine with that

this is also a good opportunity to say thanks for the big feedback & support!

I've never done this before... cause I don't know... haven't had a good opportunity yet

also I don't adress the viewer directly very often

I just bought an expensive microphone today... a binaural one...

works like earplugs.. and it uses the shape of the human ear to collect the sound naturally...

also there is this little delay from one mic to the other which allows the one listening to locate sounds

kind of 3-dimensional sound...

I'm curious.. I want to test it now... but I think it'll be awesome when done right

awesome! this will replace the plus sized version

the other one will go back and this one will be my weapon of choice for local singletrails and flowtrails

of course the enduro will also stay

...the 650b version

big thanks to Conway bikes & Hartje for the support!

It's a conway WME829 ..29inch carbon trail fully

with adjustable travel (140-150mm)

and a 150mm Yari in front

it's the low priced carbon version - there are 2 pricier versions

one had 2x11 shimano drivetrain which wasn't what I was looking for

this is the same drivetrain as on the enduro

the other model had sram eagle... which would have been nice but with this one I can change parts with the other bike if something breaks

rockshox suspension... without lowspeed compression... and the lock mode of the monarch shock

I don't use that very often anyways and forget to change it back when riding down...

going to remove the spacers soon...

replaced the contec grips with other contec grips...

and also contec pedals

little zip tie here but the rest is out of the box

tyres are schwalbe fat albert... and I kind of like them I guess...

they have a nice rounded profile.. in comparison to the last one (conti trail king which was pretty flat) - not yet tested it properly but this would be the first time I like a schwalbe tyre

rear version looks better than the front version... but that's not a problem if it's working

and the way this flat carbon finish looks it's hard to make this bike ugly

with the last bike I said that I don't like the conti trail king but you have to be carefull cause tyres aren't things to recommend cause it depends on the riding style

I'm sure there are lots of people out there who like the tyre

personally I prefer round profiles which have good grip when leaning in corners...

when you don't lean that much this is pretty irrelevant

seatpost is a non hydraulic one...

no reverb... we'll see what's the difference... - I have to shorten the hose...

I shouldn't catch a branch with that...

now I'm curious!

But for people it was something very revealing

Because I had gone to church,

I had very strange hair

I would arrive in the church with a cigarette smell.

And I was not even there

I did not even care what people were going to say

But I was going because I thought it was cool

Today people come to me and say that they are very grateful

For knowing me

Because I'm the person I am today

Because people who knew me before

They know the person I was

I'm very grateful today for

Jesus!

Because he brought me

Because he rescued me, because he pulled me from the depths

I believe I'm having a good time in my life today

I have a call for missions.

And God has testified more and more of this in me.

And after you have accepted Jesus, how did you discover his calling?

When I turned 18 I moved in with my godmother.

And she's a very special person with me, with her children.

She is a very used person for god in my life

And she asked me one day what I enjoyed doing in the church.

And I did not know, that time I just wanted to serve

And in the same week I began to pray, I began to give myself more to God

And I started to ask what his wish was for me

And the weekend came Ricardo, he is a prophet

There from Santa Catarina

And he came to visit our church and was going to preach at the youth service

And on that day God used his life tremendously

To tell me that my place was not here in Umuarama

God had a very big purpose for me.

Who was outside, who was the nations

And he said that my call was missions

What is it for me to be a missionary

And on Sunday I prayed with Rafisa

A kiss Rafisa, I love you, a kiss Steve

Loved it!

And I asked her to pray with me

And on Sunday god testified that this really is my calling

And in January of that year I did a school of missions

IRIS School

in the Rio de Janeiro

And this school was a watershed in my life

Because I saw how much the nations need people serving it out

And this is a new life, a new way!

Education reform: Why we shouldn't use the courts | IN 60 SECONDS - Duration: 1:18.

Tired of the frustrations of politics

and policy, school reformers have taken to

turning to the courts to drive real

reform. The most famous example of this is

the Vergara lawsuit in California, in

which the judge ruled that California's

tenure laws violated the right of

students to get an effective education. A

lot to sympathize with in that ruling,

even if it was later overturned by the

state Supreme Court. Couple problems

though with learning to the courts: First,

the reality is if a judge can say

you can't have teacher tenure, it's not

clear what else judges can throw out.

Can they say no charter schools? No

school vouchers? It's a real risk. Second,

courts are no panacea. The state of New

Jersey has been in a long-running

lawsuit for a half century, in which the

Abbott school districts have gotten

billions in extra aid and still aren't

serving kids well. I'm a big fan of

changing schools in a way that serves kids,

but I think the most promising route

lies through the hard work of politics

and policy, and not the pleasing

shortcuts offered by the courts.

God Doesn't Have A "Plan B" | Ganel-Lyn Condie - Duration: 3:22.

I love telling other peoples' stories.

That's what I love to do.

And, I think it's because when you tell someone else's story, or even your own story you share

on a blogpost or wherever it is, you can see the full picture, right?

But most of us are living through a story.

We're not at the end of the story—and really none of us are at the end of any story, but

there's certain experiences where we, we—just like a GPS.

I plug in an address and I want to get there.

And, unless I've taken a wrong turn, I don't have a GPS voice prompt saying: "You're doing

awesome.

Like, way-to-go!

You look great today.

You're right on time."

I only hear the GPS prompt when it's about to prompt me to turn or, you know like just

today, I took a wrong turn and I had to do a U-ie.

And all of the sudden, there were all these prompts: "Turn around, turn around, turn around."

I feel like that's how God is with us.

Most of the time we're doing fine.

You know?

We're heading along the path and then, all of the sudden, we feel like we haven't gotten

that reassurance we're doing great, that we're fine, that we're good.

We don't hear God saying: "Great job. Great job."

The opposite is true.

Sometimes, we take a totally wrong turn and we think: "Oh no!

I have totally messed up God's plan for me!"

And yet, the truth is, He doesn't have some kind of plan b.

He's not worried that we have totally gotten off course and that we can't be okay.

The same analogy with the GPS is when I do that, when I turn wrong, there's always a

re-direct route, right?

Sometimes, it's: turn around and head back.

And if you're dealing with addiction, or some other major choice that really, maybe, puts

you in a position where you're in trouble with the law you do have a big re-direct,

right, going on there.

Sometimes you gotta go back and you've gotta make amends and you've gotta fix something.

But for most of us, you know, it's just a simple: "Okay, you can turn here, two streets down.

It may take a couple of minutes, but you're going to be fine and you're going to get there."

God is really clear about the journey.

He really wants us to have the experience.

The choice.

The experience of falling down.

The sometimes-turning-in-the-wrong-direction.

And we learn: "Okay, never turn right there again, right?"

That's how we learn.

And yet, we don't always feel comfortable with that.

So, I'm just here to say that you are not messing up God's plan for you.

He doesn't have some big plan B in case you just mess everything up.

He has a plan that's yours.

And it's going to be different than your neighbors.

Hands down—the comparison is where I think we get the most in trouble.

Because we look at the neighbor and we think: "Well, they graduated from college and look

at the car they're driving and they're super set—and their kids are going to Yale!

And, you know, my kid is in rehab right now."

And, and my faith tells me that God knows the perfect plan for my happiness and it's

going to look different than my neighbor's.

Hey guys!

It's Ivy from "How to House."

Let's talk microfiber sofas.

Show of hands, internet.

Who all has one?

Have you ever tried to clean one of those bad boys?

The stain comes right up, but you're left with a water mark

and it drives me insane.

Water rings, get out of here.

Today, I'm going to show you how to clean microfiber

upholstery the right way.

Now before you do anything, check to see that your sofa

has a care instruction tag.

W means the fabric is water safe.

S means to clean with dry cleaning solvent.

SW means both water and solvent safe.

And X means dry brush only.

These techniques should work on any fabric labeled

W, S, and SW, but always test it in an inconspicuous place

first.

No tag at all?

Treat it like an S.

Now that we have that out of the way, let's get started.

To clean your microfiber sofa, you'll

need light-colored sponges, rubbing alcohol,

a spray bottle, and a clean scrub brush.

Spray the stained area with rubbing alcohol,

getting it pretty saturated.

Now scrub with your sponge.

It's important to use a light-colored sponge

to avoid color transfer.

Scrub away until all the smudges and stains have lifted.

The sofa's clean, absolutely no water marks, but

we're not out of the woods yet.

Once the fabric is dry, you'll notice it feels rough,

and the opposite of the cozy, soft couch you had before.

This is where the brush comes in.

Brush the rough area with a clean scrub brush

until the fibers are fluffed and your couch is soft again.

And that's it!

Your couch is clean, fresh, and ready for your next TV binge.
