Waching daily May 23 2017

Hello, everyone.

Welcome to Part Five of our productivity demo,

Microsoft OneNote: Basics and beyond.

This is a six-part demo so please come back and

check our other videos on this topic, or find other events and

videos at microsoft.com/itshowcase.

And now, on to Part Five.

>> The next item we wanna talk about is, we've been talking about OneNote

directly with me just using it personally.

I have it stored in my hard drive, I'm the only one that can access it,

I can't share it out with anyone else.

How do we make it available out to everyone?

So everyone that I want to make it available to.

Well, the power that we get from sharing it up to OneDrive and

storing it there is the ability to share with other people and

collaborate with them effectively.

So not only can we share with them to view only,

we could actually give them some edit access as well,

and then that would allow them to go in and make changes as needed.

So how do we store out to our OneDrive?

What I'm gonna do is I am going to go back to my OneNote notebook and

I'm going to show you how I can identify where my OneNote notebook

is located first of all, but I'm also gonna show you how you can move

out to your OneDrive for Business safely and securely.

So right now if I hover over my notebook name, I can see right below

Brian Notebook it says Documents, and then OneNote notebooks.

I know that it's stored directly on my hard drive.

If I right-click on my notebook name and

then go down to Properties I can see again where the location is.

Right now it's Documents OneNote Notebooks.

This is where I can change the location of my OneNote Notebook.

If I were to click on Change Location,

now I've synced my OneDrive Personal down to my hard drive.

So that means I can easily access it from the quick links on

the left-hand side.

So down on the left-hand side I can see there's my OneDrive-Personal.

If I were to click on that it would access my OneDrive out in the cloud.

So again, this is associated to my Live ID, and it's free, I think

you have 5 GB of storage out there for free if you have a Live ID.

So again, take full advantage of this,

because the real power from OneNote is not only from your usage but

the ability to collaborate and share with others as well.

Cuz what good is my family notebook if I'm the only one in my family

that has access to it?

I want to be able to share it with them and

work off of the same one together.

So in that case I'm gonna click on OneDrive-Personal and

I'm just gonna save it directly to my OneDrive-Personal there.

I'm gonna click Select, and

you'll see in just a second it says One Note is syncing changes.

And in just a second it will pack it up and say hey,

your notebook is now syncing to the new location.

So if I click OK,

I can see there's a little sync icon right next to my notebook title.

If I hover over my notebook title again, I can see right below

Brian's Notebook, it says OneDrive- Personal.

I now know that my notebook is out in the cloud.

If I right-click on my notebook again and then go down to

the Properties, again I can see where that location is.

Now again, the real power of having our OneNote notebook out

in the cloud is the ability to access it from any device.

Now the real benefit of having our OneNote Notebook out into our

OneDrive is the ability to access it from any device, right?

So, on any of our devices, on any of our phones,

we have the ability to download the OneDrive App.

The OneDrive App is free across all devices, so definitely go out and

make full use of it.

You open up the OneDrive app, you can then go directly log into your

OneDrive and access your OneNote notebook.

Now, the real benefit of this is, any changes I make directly to

this OneNote notebook on my laptop will then sync across to my phone,

it will sync across to my wife's laptop,

it will sync across to her phone.

So again, it will be available across any device.

So that's the real magic of having this in one location.

>> We're at the end of Part Five, we hope you enjoyed it.

Check out Part Six where Brian walks us through how to share and

collaborate with OneNote 2016.

IT Showcase has events scheduled every month where you can get your

questions answered live.

We hope you'll join us again and bring your colleagues.

You can find our scheduled upcoming events as well as on-demand videos

and other content at Microsoft.com/ITShowcase.

Thanks again.

Leaning Tower of Niles, IL - Americana and Oddities - Duration: 3:31.

hey roadtrippers welcome to the

Americana and oddities series where we

go to some odd places that are just

plain strange or they are part of

Americana culture and in this video

we're going to go all the way to the

leaning tower of Niles Illinois don't

forget to hit that subscribe button to

see more videos like this when my wife

and I first moved to this neighborhood

we were looking for a Costco to go to so

we had to find something nearby we

didn't really know the neighborhood very

well so we went ahead we found this

Costco and we were driving there and all

of a sudden I take a look and I see the

Leaning Tower of Pisa but not quite as

tall and of course it's not the Leaning

Tower of Pisa because I'm in Niles oh no

I come to find out is the leaning tower

of Niles really but why so here's a

little bit of history of the tower in

local businessmen of the early 1900's

Robert ilg and I hope I saying that name

right he created a park called the

Ilgair Park and that was happened around

the 1920s and it had two large outdoor

pools but these large pools needed a big

tank to supply the water and Ilg wanted

to preserve the natural beauty of the

area so he decided to build a replica of

the Leaning Tower of Pisa to conceal the

water tower so he did exactly that and

it was completed in 1934 and it is a

half-scale replica of what is in Pisa

although they built it here to not lean

any further unlike the one in Italy so

in 1960 the descendants of Robert Ilg

donated part of that land of the park to

the Leaning Tower YMCA they turned over

the tower to the Niles YMCA with the

condition that the YMCA would spend a

minimum of five hundred dollars annually

to upkeep the tower and the surrounding

area well into the future

however this amount quickly proved to be

inadequate for the aging tower in 1995

the village of Niles worked with Pisa

Italy there now sister city to create a

1.2 million dollar renovation project

which was actually completed in 1997

today the tower sits in front of the

leaning tower YMCA next to a target and

near a Costco see the link below for

directions on how to get there

it seems like a really odd place for the

location of this until you actually know

the history of why it's there when the

wife and I actually took the time to go

visit this place they hadn't really

filled the pools yet for the season but

it does look like a really nice place to

have to relax and maybe even have lunch

and it's kind of an interesting place

and it makes it a little more

interesting if you actually know the

history behind it and here's a quick

summary of what you might want to know

before you visit the leaning tower of

Niles

first of all it's free you can expect to

spend anywhere between 15 and maybe 60

minutes there if you're going to bring a

lunch it is family friendly it is

couples friendly and it is easily

singles friendly it is RV friendly kind

of because you could probably park an RV

at the target parking lot but I don't

know I haven't checked that out the

oddity factor that I have is a out of a

one to ten it's probably a four it's not

extremely odd but it's a little weird

and out of place the detour value which

I say you know how much time is it worth

to go off your normal route I would say

don't go more than five minutes off your

normal route unless this is something

very interesting to you I hope you got

something out of this and if you didn't

click that like button as well as

sharing it with the internet if I miss

something let me know by leaving a

comment below and if you would like to

see more videos like this go ahead and

click that subscribe button thanks for

watching until next time

safe travels

Mary Hatte Ein Kleines Lamm | Deutsche Kinderlieder | Vorschulische Lieder | Reime Für Babies - Duration: 58:28.

Mary had a little lamb

Little lamb, little lamb

Mary had a little lamb

It's fleece was white as snow

And everywhere that Mary went

Mary went, Mary went,

everywhere that Mary went

The lamb was sure to go.

It followed her to school one day,

school one day, school one day,

It followed her to school one day,

Which was against the rules,

It made the children laugh and play,

laugh and play, laugh and play,

It made the children laugh and play,

To see a lamb at school.

And so the teacher turned it out,

turned it out, turned it out,

And so the teacher turned it out,

But still it lingered near,

He waited patiently about,

ly about, ly about,

He waited patiently about,

Till Mary did appear.

((MANDARIN)) Face to face with people

((MANDARIN)) Right

((MANDARIN)) You can use the sign language

((MANDARIN)) Sign language? I don't know anything about sign language.

((MANDARIN)) I still can't believe that you know Chinese. You say that you forgot some, but if you go there, you won't have any problems.

((MANDARIN)) This was something I learned a long time ago though..

((MANDARIN)) Have you been to Chengdu before?

((MANDARIN)) No

((MANDARIN)) But how do you know that Szechuan expression then?

((MANDARIN)) I learned in a chatroom. Because there are all kinds of Chinese people in those chatrooms

((MANDARIN))Right, so many languages are used in chatrooms

((MANDARIN)) Many that come from Chengdu,Beijing etc..so...they can speak other dialects

((MANDARIN)) What about him?

((MANDARIN)) He doesn't know how to speak

((MANDARIN)) HAHA..He's just looking at you like ''What are you guys talking about'' lolol

hahahaha

((MANDARIN)) I'm going to begin helping him to learn a new language, but he's interested in Japanese

((MANDARIN)) What's he interested in?

((MANDARIN)) Japanese

((MANDARIN)) You know Japanese,too?

((MANDARIN)) Yes, I do

((MANDARIN)) So you know a lot of languages

((MANDARIN)) Yeah. I know Japanese, Cantonese, Korean....

((MANDARIN)) Oh, you know Cantonese

((MANDARIN)) You know? ((CANTONESE)) You know Cantonese?

((MANDARIN)) No

((CANTONESE)) If I speak Cantonese do you....

((MANDARIN)) No, I don't understand Cantonese hahahaha

hahahahahhahahhahah

((MANDARIN)) I don't understand Cantonese

((CANTONESE)) But I know that a lot of Chinese people can understand Cantonese. They can understand, but can't speak.

((MANDARIN)) You're too awesome. You're a linguist lol

((MANDARIN)) But you know Confucious said that there's still some things that I can learn from someone else.

((MANDARIN)) You really understand China's history

((MANDARIN)) A lot of stuff..

((MANDARIN)) He really likes to learn

((MANDARIN)) I love learning

((MANDARIN)) I see that you like learning languages

((MANDARIN)) It's a hobby

((MANDARIN)) Being like this, you can go anywhere without any problems

hahahahhaa

((MANDARIN)) Perhaps I can become a spy or something

hahahahahahah

((MANDARIN)) Just joking...

((MANDARIN)) Alright, we're going to leave now

((MANDARIN)) OK

((MANDARIN)) Nice to meet you

((MANDARIN)) Goodbye

((MANDARIN)) Next time I'll bring my wife for a massage

((MANDARIN)) OK. Goodbye

((MANDARIN)) Are you American?

((MANDARIN)) Yes, I am

((MANDARIN)) Oh, OK

((MANDARIN)) 100%

hahahahahahha

((MANDARIN)) Alright, take care. Goodbye.

De-Extinction: A Mammoth Undertaking - Duration: 6:10.

[PBS Intro]

This episode is supported by 23andMe

Covering a 50 square mile area in Siberia in the Arctic Circle, you'll find a place called

Pleistocene Park.

Its human creators have replaced its forests with grasslands to restore the landscape to

what it looked like 2 million years ago.

It's currently populated by large mammals like horses and bison to give it that "last

Ice Age" feel, but to make it REALLY authentic, they just need ONE more thing...

[Intro]

Around 4,500 years ago, on an island in the Arctic Ocean, the world's last mammoth died

a lonely death.

And now they only live on in our imaginations.

But do they really have to be gone forever?

Humans aren't completely responsible for killing off mammoths, but we are responsible

for plenty of other extinctions, and that list is quickly growing.

These species are extinct, but in many cases, their DNA is still around, in places like

museum drawers and buried in the ground.

Today, scientists think de-extinction might be the answer to saving our planet's lost

biodiversity.

De-extinction is more complicated than it looks in the movies.

DNA holds the instructions for an organism's assembly, life, and reproduction.

By inserting a copy of DNA instructions into an empty embryo, scientists successfully cloned

the first mammal two decades ago.

So if we have some of their DNA, bringing back extinct animals is just that easy, right?

Of course it's not that easy!

To make a clone or exact copy of anything, you need a *complete* set of genetic instructions.

Not 50% or 95% of the genetic instructions.

100%.

Imagine the genome as a huge book.

If you lose every 10th word, would you still be able to read the story?

Unfortunately as soon as something dies, its DNA starts to fall apart.

On average, it takes just 521 years for half an animal's genetic material to degrade.

Deep freezing mammoths has improved DNA preservation, but those instructions are still too incomplete

to fire up the cloning machine.

To recreate anything remotely ancient, scientists are gonna have to get crafty.

We've gotten a little bit of DNA from several well-preserved mammothcicles.

That let us assemble a whole mammoth genome inside a computer, but we can't just print

out a big fuzzy elephant from scratch.

But we might be able to edit one.

Just like you "cut and paste" on your computer, we could snip out certain genes

of a close relative like the Asian elephant--and replace them with whatever genetic material

makes a woolly mammoth special, like resistance to cold, bigger tusks, and well... fur.

Then, this hybrid embryo would be placed inside a living Asian elephant until it is born,

which is a lot harder than it sounds.

For starters, elephant pregnancy lasts more than a year and a half and maybe we shouldn't

gamble with a species that's already endangered.

Even if we figure all that out, one mammoth doesn't bring back a species.

Populations with just a few members have low genetic diversity.

Their DNA is almost identical, and this can make them susceptible to disease or even infertile.

Hundreds or thousands of "sort of" mammoths will need to be created to maintain a diverse

and healthy population.

But why build something from scratch when you can reverse engineer it?

Believe it or not, the modern chicken is a decently close relative of T. rex.

By carefully controlling the expression of certain chicken genes, scientists have been

able to bring out some more "dinosaur-like" features, like turning the beak into something

more closely resembling a snout.

Bit by bit this method could create a creature that isn't a chicken, but isn't quite

a dinosaur either…sort of a paleontologist's version of Frankenstein.

Hacking elephant genes could give us something that looks like a mammoth, but would it BE

a mammoth?

Or just an elephant wearing a disguise?

Even if we COULD bring extinct animals back, it doesn't necessarily mean we should.

Since these animals were around, a lot has changed.

Places like Siberia's Pleistocene Park are trying to recreate ancient habitats, but when

these old species arrive at their new home, will the food they once ate even be around?

What about the microbes that helped keep them alive?

De-extinction will be really expensive and really hard.

So why do it?

Maybe instead of paying back the planet for our past screw-ups or just trying to reinvent

our favorite movies, we should worry about not making new mistakes.

Instead these new genetic tools could help save animals in imminent danger of extinction

today.

Species like the California condor, black-footed ferret, and the adorable vaquita are all on

the verge of disappearing forever.

The same technology that makes de-extinction possible could let us add variety to these

species DNA, creating genetic diversity, to make their populations bigger AND stronger.

That way we won't be having the same problems 4,000 years from now.

Stay curious.

Thanks to 23andme for sponsoring this episode. The name '23andMe' comes from the fact that human DNA is organized into 23 pairs of chromosomes.

23andMe is a personal genetic analysis company created to help people understand their DNA. You can see which regions around the world your ancestors come from,

learn how DNA impacts your health, your facial features, hair, even your sense of smell, and how you sleep.

You just have to provide a DNA sample by spitting in a tube.

Analyzing my DNA taught me a lot about earwax. Some people, mostly people in East Asia,

carry a version of a gene (ABCC11) that makes their earwax dry and flaky. I carry the version, like most people with my genetic ancestry,

that makes gooey, sticky earwax. Which kind of earwax do you have?

I also learned how my genes affect my caffeine consumption, how deep a sleeper I am, even the origin of the DNA in my mitochondria.

You can learn more about your personal DNA story and support our show by going to 23andMe.com/OKAY

I studied genetics for my PhD, and learning about my DNA was just… so fun. Let us know if you give it a try. See you next week!

Traços de personalidade III | Signos de Ar (en/pt) - Aula de inglês #132 - Duration: 5:39.

sup guys! How are you? Today's video is also

in English you can some turn on subtitles

here on YouTube.

today's video is about the air zodiac sings

They are Gemini, not twins

ok? Twins is Gêmeos (irmãos) in Portuguese but English

the zodiac sign is Gemini.

Then we have Libra and Aquarius not aquarium right so

there's this little difference in translation.

Let's start with Gemini.

They are intelligent, witty, adaptable

and communicative. Communicative because

they really like to talk and they are

all about expressing their ideas their

opinions their like they're all around

they're very intelligent because I think

they can process a lot of information in

their brains and their brains are really

really fast. Because their brains are

really fast

they are witty. Usually the use it..

like.. as a form of humor and they make

jokes very quickly. They're very good at

jokes. I mean, not all of them there's

something bad about their jokes, sometimes

they're not good and then you laugh

because they're not good. Last but not least

they're very adaptable. They adapt to the

environment, to the person they're

talking to, to anything very very quickly.

On their dark side, however this

communicative part becomes talkative. So

they're just too talkative and sometimes

it's very hard to make them shut their

mouths a little and listen. As they

really want to know a little... like,

they want to know everything about everything

they're very inquisitive, and they are

curious, but in a bad sense. Because

they're going to ask you questions more

than you're ready to answer, or more that

you want to answer. ok? So this is

sometimes a problem

they're very gossipy, ok? They are known

as the gossipers or the gossipy of the

zodiac sign they hear something here, and

then they're going to talk it somewhere else.

These are the negative personality

traits of gemini. If you know more

negative personality traits please write

them down here.

Second air zodiac sign we're

talking today is Libra and as you know

libra is the best zodiac sign

I'm just kidding right

Libra has good personality traits.

They are charismatic, charming, and they are diplomatic.

They're diplomatic because they

don't like fighting they hate seeing

other people fight if people are arguing

Libra will probably work as a diplomat

and try to make people stop fighting and

make amends, okay? like "oh yeah you're

right yeah okay"

Two things that I forgot to mention is

that they are very easygoing, which means,

that they can take hard situations

without getting so stressed as other

people would and they're very sociable

So, they are usually surrounded by

lots of people.

People say that everybody loves Libra

I've heard the opposite but I don't know

What do you think? Are Libras so nice

as people say? Well, they have their

negative personality traits as well

there are very flirtatious

that means that they flirt even when

they're not flirts they're changeable

and indecisive. For Libra, it is very hard to

make decisions because they want to make

something that is good for everybody, for

himself and for other people. so it's

hard for him to choose something. Sometimes he

chooses and then another information

comes, and he says "Well, wait, I think that this

one is better than the other one so he

changes idea very easily.

The last zodiac sign today is Aquarius, again,

not Aquarium, Aquarius. People say

that they're the craziest zodiac sign

we have. I think it's because they're all... they

are very original and inventive. So

they're always trying to build something

new over something old. Of course, I mean

to have something new you have sort of

destroy something old, always. And that's

what they try to do. They have a very

friendly side and they always... they're

very humanitarian. So, (they think) less about

themselves and more about* like... what is

good for people? Last but not least as

their positive

personality traits. They are very

independent so they're always

starting things on their own. However, on

the other hand they also have negative

personality traits we. as people usually say

they're the contrary so they will be

always opposing ideas with you okay, so,

you say "yeah", they say "no". and then you

say "no", they say "yes". People say that

they are cold-hearted and unemotional

and detached. Cold-hearted means that

their hearts are cold. I'm not sure if the heart

is this side, or this side. They're detached. for

For them, it is really hard to make bondings with

people to create like a strong (...)

sense of relationship okay not only

because they are cold-hearted, they're

unemotional, they don't feel emotions let's say.

I know they do feel emotions, but it's

different for them. If you have other information

about the air zodiac signs please

comment down here. Last not least, check

here the other videos of this series of

zodiac signs and then let me know what

you think

5 SUMMER LIFE HACKS & DIYS THAT WORK! 2017 - Duration: 5:46.

and it will itch anymore and your arm

will smell like your armpit but it's

okay it's hot at least it'll smell good

or better than normal okay

5 Summer 2017 Life Hacks & DIYs

Summer DIY

Life Hacks

Hashtag Zoe

check out is Sonia and welcome back to

my channel so for today's video I have 5

summer life hacks for you guys and I

know it's not summer just yet but if

you're watching this in summer then hi I

wish I was you right now because it's

not someone right now when I'm sewing

foot makes this subscribe you're not

already and if you enjoyed this video

give it a big thumbs up we're so close

to 10k like so close to 10k so I already

entered my notifications on if you have

not already and now without further ado

let's go ahead and get started into

delicious don't you hate it when you're

eating a popsicle and stuff gets all

over your hands well I have just the

solution for you so all you need is a

cupcake wrapper and your popsicle I got

a new popsicle because the other one was

melted but to prevent this from getting

all over your hand you're going to make

a hole in your cupcake wrapper as I did

before and oh yeah and then you're going

to put it through and now it's not going

to get all over hand when it drips to

see so if you're killing me you totally

know the struggle of getting a sunburn

in summer when you're trying to pan it

doesn't work out so as most people know

aloe vera helps with sunburns helps them

heal maybe they turn into a tan usually

for me they've burned but I hope to feel

better so to make this thing help you

more you can freeze this aloe vera and

put it on your sunburn and it will make

it really cool soothing and night so

let's sneak some aloe ice cubes so all

I'm using is some aloe that I got from

the dollar store so I'm just going to

put this in my ice tray

could be a really big ice cube great I

love cube I'm just going to fill all

these up then I'm going to pop it in the

freezer next you're going to put your

tray in the freezer until it's

completely frozen I will ask you two

hours later so this is what they look

like and now you can smooth this on your

skin when you have a fender so this is

completely aloe vera so it's going to be

really soothing there's no water in it

so it's really cool so the next flight

path has to do with your car and you

know where to get in the hot car and

like your car just smells like your car

you know there's no like good scent when

you go in your car but there can be so I

have this little mini mason jar that I

got from Target it is literally adorable

and I love it and when you open it there

are holes in it which is perfect but if

yours does not come like this or

whatever container you you're using does

not come like this you can just poke

holes in the cap basically I am going to

make a scent thing for your car so I'm

going to be using either I'm an old

candle this is actually new candle

because I don't have an old chancel but

you can scoop out the wax and put it

inside so it melts when your car gets

hot and the scent goes everywhere like

that's genius

if you don't have an old candle and you

don't want to buy a new candle I produce

things at Target view they are called

wax melts so this is good to just pop

some of these in here I'm going to be

using these two but I would want to work

because they're both like basically like

scented locks so I'm just going to put a

little wax melt inside close my little

lid on top and put it in the car and

when my car gets hot it will melt and

make my car smell like clean linen so

the next life hack has to do with

deodorants now I know you're like why do

I need deodorant for a light pack but

I'm going to explain through right now

so basically if you have a bug light to

stop the itching

you can put deodorant on it like so I

don't have a bug bites is kind of weird

but it does prevent bitching and it will

itch anymore and your arm smells like

your armpit but it's ok it's fun at

least it'll smell good or better than

normal

ok you know when you get into the hot

car over summer and this little sky is

burning hot that hurt when I touched it

instead when you leave the car make sure

to leave it in the buckles don't buckle

yourself because if you're leaving car

though and make any sense buckle it

inside so that way the cards metal has

been exposed to Sun and you have cool

seat belts and you can put myself in

without any burn thanks much for

watching if you have not already make

sure you give this video a big thumbs up

subscribe also to thermoset 10k like I

mentioned earlier stove you toxic I see

which and also leave a comment telling

me a life hacks that you have found

yourself or that you do now leave that

in the comments down below we can help

each other out and maybe if you guys

want I'll do another video just like

this one so let me ask the comments down

below

I'll see you guys in my next video Fred

you

How Do Curveballs Change Direction in Midair? - Duration: 2:29.

It takes about a quarter of a second for the average person to react to something they

see.

That's how long it takes for a signal to travel from your eyes to your brain and then

back down to your muscles.

A quarter of a second might not seem very long, but that lag time actually makes some

things, like hitting a baseball, really complicated.

At the professional level, it only takes half a second for the ball to get from the pitcher's

mound to home plate.

So to hit the ball, you have to start swinging when it's only halfway to the plate.

Your brain can make up for this by predicting where the ball will go before it actually

gets to you.

But that means a pitcher who can throw the ball so that it curves a few centimeters away

from where the batter is expecting it to be has a huge advantage.

That kind of throw is called a breaking pitch.

And there are lots of different types of breaking pitches, but one of the most popular ones

is the curveball, where the ball curves directly downward faster than normal.

Breaking pitches take advantage of what's known as the Magnus effect, where the ball's

spin interferes with the air around it in a way that changes its direction.

Here's how it works:

As an object moves through the air, the air's molecules stick to it in a thin layer called

the boundary layer, which is dragged along the surface for a bit, then separates.

The point where that separation happens is an important part of how curveballs drop faster

than you'd expect.

When you throw a curveball, you give it topspin, meaning that the ball is spinning so that

the top of the ball moves away from you, in the direction you threw the ball, and the

bottom of the ball moves toward you.

Meanwhile, air flows over both the top and bottom of the ball.

The bottom of the ball is spinning with the air flowing past it, so the boundary layer

sticks longer and curves around toward the back of the ball.

The top of the ball, on the other hand, is spinning against the air flowing past it,

so the boundary layer separates much earlier, before it can curve behind the ball.

The overall effect is that the ball drags air around itself, deflecting the air behind

it in the direction it's spinning.

Since a curveball has topspin, that means the air behind it gets deflected upwards.

And pushing the air upward forces the ball in the opposite direction, changing its flight

path.

That's the Magnus effect.

A talented pitcher can spin the ball in different directions to use the Magnus effect to their

advantage.

Giving the ball topspin will cause it to fall dramatically downward into a curveball, but

giving it backspin will cause it to resist gravity and fly in a straighter path.

Now that's what I'd call putting a positive spin on physics.

Thanks for asking, and for more about the science of sports, check out our video about

why golfballs have dimples.

Spoiler: you'd be surprised at how much thought people put into what they carve into

golf balls.
