Waching daily Sep 6 2018

Hey guys, welcome to LA...Alright, we go again.

I'm Custa from the LA Valiant and we're going to be doing some All Stars stuff, we're going

to be following us and doing a bit of a behind-the-scenes thing of the All Stars,

so please check it out.

I wouldn't either.

Inside the---er, behind the scenes of All Stars.

Me and Scott, popping off.

And I'm casting the Talent Takedown, so.

No I don't...don't give me...

I saw the list and they're all Widow players and I'm like oh God please don't put me in there.

How many mystery heroes can you play? D.va?

D.va one-trick pony.

No, no, I play everything.

I mean maybe yeah.

How do you feel about being able to play with this guy again?

At least he cannot talk shit to me because we're on the same team.

Same team!

He's been talking shit about you for like three months. He's like Thank God I don't have to play with Mickie.

No team should ever allow a Brigitte to do what Mickie did. Brigitte can't do that.

It makes you famous, more famous.

And now you're going to Thailand.

I mean, Custa will be there soon enough.

You can try to kidnap him before he gets to the stage.

Why do you like the Atlantic more?

This isn't Philly!

This is brown, not orange.

You're an idiot.

You're an idiot.

Thank you guys so much, please give it up for the beautiful Guildhall for having us

here today.

Please help yourself to as many games, grab food and drinks, today is going to be an exciting

day of an All Star match.

This is all brought to you by Gamestop.

They ruined it!

In my defense, I was not told.

Did Mike so go to the back, Kariv?

You walked through the front?

I dropped you in the front and said go to the back.

I don't remember this, so there's no proof of this.

They have a watch party for All Stars, so we're going to check it out and say hi to the fans.

The players are here!

Kariv!

Fate!

Brady "Agilities" Girardi!

Now he's making a break for the exit.

Geguri!

I'm trying to teach Kariv how to play Uno.

It's going alright, Brady's trying to cheat.

Brady's cheating.

All Stars is done, now I'm going to go to Australia for two weeks for a bit of a holiday

and then I'm off to Thailand for the World Cup Group Stages.

I'll be back halfway through September.

Recovered Bulimic VS Onision's Eating Disorder Videos - Duration: 9:56.

Hello people behind screens, I'm Jac and we're back now

Trigger warning: this video is going to talk a lot about eating disorders. I

am someone who used to have an eating disorder, I abused laxatives so that I would

lose weight and stay slim and

it was a struggle, but I no longer have that

problem and I am really proud of myself for the progress that I have made

This is called What Causes Eating Disorders by Onision

He is known to have sort of

Strong opinions

About things let's see what he thinks

What caused my eating disorder?Personally, I think it's mother. I think it's my mother, not gonna lie. I think it's my mother

[What causes eating disorders? You know, anorexia, bulimia, obesity, etc}] Tell me

[Those diseases that some people suffer from

As far as obesity goes, I know what you must be thinking, it's people like this little girl eating unhealthy food, but if that were true

people eating unhealthy food would be fatter than people eating healthy food. Oh wait, they almost all are]

There are a lot of reasons someone might have more trouble losing weight, it's not always what people eat you know, I

have friends that are heavier than me. They work so hard. They constantly exercise,

they cut back on desserts and treats, but they just it's so hard for them because they put on weight so easily. I

am constantly eating, I have a bag of takis right here on my bed and

luckily, I have a higher metabolism

So it's not always just so black and white. There are a lot of different things that factor into it

[Anorexia of course is this scary situation, where you're so skinny I can see your spine clearly

Because her mother always called her fat, her friends always act like she wasn't skinny enough. What did you people do to her?]

Okay, um

That's another thing. I wanted to dress up people always think that anorexia asked to look a certain way and

I think that's really

troubling because they are people who are fatter with

anorexia and people invalidate them. It's like, oh you're not skinny enough to be anorexic

you know, they are really overweight and

something happened that they just stopped eating

and obviously it's not like the moment they stop eating, within a couple days they're- you know, so

pretending that eating disorders have a body type

It can be really harmful. People can think. 'Oh, I'm not thin enough to have an eating disorder. I don't need help' ya know?

[Gosh I really hope that toilet's clean. Otherwise you'd have to worry about a bacterial infection on top of ironically fighting obesity

Shh, don't tell my body I ate this food. If it's a secret I won't get fat

According to this graph, it's genetic, social, and psychological influences that can drive you to have an eating disorder

If someone has an amazing boyfriend or girlfriend, you're probably not gonna hate your body anywhere near as much if at all

Self hatred, loneliness, sadness, depression all lead to someone seeking comfort but with binge eating

Sounds like what you need is a loving boyfriend or girlfriend]

A woman walking into my life won't solve all my problems

I'm still blaming my mother because I know that I am not-

Because I know that I am a thinner person and I walked down stairs the other day and she looks and she goes 'you look

fat' I go 'you know what?

Maybe I am' and she goes 'I brought you some shorts, but I should have gotten a bigger size

they clearly won't fit you. Try them on' and then I didn't even want to try them on

because I was-I already knew if they didn't fit I would be embarrassed forever

My sister is eight years old, when she was seven my mom told her she was fat so much that she was afraid to wear

a two-piece swimsuit

So I definitely blamed my mother and I don't think a girlfriend is gonna solve all those years of trauma

not gonna lie, just putting that out there

[fear of getting fat, trying to lose weight, diet, weight loss, physiological changes. Drama, drama, drama

How about you jut limit yourself to one cookie a day? Fill the rest with delicious nutrient infused food. Mmm mmm good

[not that simple?] Not that simple

[concern about weight and body image play major roles

In other words, if you had a high self-esteem and you were concerned about your weight or body image

you very likely wouldn't have bulimia, so it's almost as if I've been right this entire time]

Another thing I want to say is that eating disorders aren't always about body image. There are people

that I've met I've been in some eating disorder groups

I was too afraid to go to groups, there have been like these text support groups

it's a group chat of a bunch of us. For some of them, it's not even about body image. For some of them

it's about control. they feel so out of control in their lives being able to control this one thing

It made them feel like they had some sort of grip

[translation, blame your crappy parents] I blame my crappy parents

for not treating you well and that is why you hate yourself. What am I supposed to say?

9/10 times that's 100% true]

I can't say anything to that because of all my baggage

[This one's saying it can be more psychological, environmental, based on social factors

So some of them are more complex than bulimia

A person is more likely to be obese if their parents were obese. I wouldn't call that genetics, I'd call that horrible parenting

This is based on multiple factors. Look at kids with parents who swear, do their kids end up swearing?

Go deeper. Look at parents who smoke, do the kids end up smoking?

What about parents who drink? Do their kids often end up drinking? yes

What about parents that eat garbage food, do their kids often follow suit? absolutely

You can talk about genetics all you want

Real problem here is parents teaching kids to eat garbage food]

He was right that parents pass on a lot of bad habits to their kids but there are genetic problems

[-eating, slow metabolism, physical inactivity, etc etc

So when dealing with eating disorders, what do you do? Well there's a little thing called self control

Try out all those crazy foods, find out

which one of those healthy foods you could actually enjoy eating repeatedly. You buy a crapload of that stuff. Kinda like me with cereal

I lurve cereal and I know cereal's good for me so I eat a lot of it. In fact, I've eaten a lot of cereal my entire life

I don't look great shirtless, but I do look okay]

Put yours shirt back on honey."It's always good to have a supportive

Girlfriend-boyfriend, husband-wife, whatever, there by your side reminding you how beautiful you are] A partner won't- isn't the

solution. Good support, therapy, that jazz is

[-fat, ugly, too skinny, stupid, useless, blah blah blah] mom?

If you're still living with them, I hope you get a job as soon as you can so you can move the hell away from those abusive a holes

If you already are living separately from them, get the hell away from those abusive a holes

And that's eating disorders in a nutshell. Be strong]

Alright

So I used to be kind of a fan of Onision. I

used to watch his videos back in the day

and

back in the day, I used to be fatphobic because of my

struggle with myself to love myself

and I would see these people who were

fat and they were happy and I resented them and I would I

would say these

hateful things online and I

would always say it's because of health, you know, promoting obesity and I would

rag on them for being unhealthy when I was even more unhealthy and I was

taking laxatives constantly so that I would just shit and shit and shit

And then I had to take a step back and think

Do I actually care? is it, is my concern health?

Where is this hate really coming from? I have gone back to as many of

the videos I commented the office awful things on but I was like 14,15

I was a really shitty person and I'm not gonna pretend that I'm not, that I wasn't

and I had to take a long journey to

really

find myself

where that hatred was coming from. I've tried to take down, I think I've taken down most of those comments if not all

and I gotta say

eating disorders are complex

Body image is complex and

this guy just going on like

all of his opinions are a fact

That's harmful

It's really harmful

I've been through a lot, you know

My eating disorder, my fat phobia

My struggle to love myself, and

My attempts to resolve all the mistakes of my past. I

think that I'm doing a good job

We're all ignorant until we're educated. I have been educated

I have found the root of what was once my hatred and resentment and jealousy, and I'm doing better

And I think that Onision should step back

and try and look at the root of things more, you know, it's not always black and white like he thinks it is

The Oversized Invasive Carrot That Can Give You Third Degree Burns - Duration: 4:13.

[♪ INTRO]

In the roadsides and ditches of New York state lurks a plant straight out of your worst nightmare.

It's a relative of the carrot, but this carrot can grow to be over 4 meters tall,

and if you're not careful, it could send you to the hospital with third-degree burns.

Not only is it dangerous to humans, it's also really good at crowding out native species.

It's called giant hogweed, and it's one plant you don't want to mess with.

Giant hogweed is native to the Caucasus Mountains in western Asia.

It was introduced to Europe in the late nineteenth century and to the U.S. early in the twentieth

century, because people thought it would look cool in their garden.

It can get really tall, has leaf arrays that are up to 1.5 meters wide, and white flower

heads that can be as big as three-quarters of a meter across, so yeah, I guess you could

say it's pretty remarkable looking.

But, inevitably, it busted out of people's backyard garden plots and started to grow

wild, usually along streams and roadsides.

Today, it's established in parts of Europe, southern Canada, and the US.

It's especially widespread in New York, but it's been spotted in about a dozen states,

including all the way across the country in rainy Washington.

What makes giant hogweed so dangerous is its sap, which can get on you if you break the

stems or leaves, or even just brush up against the bristles on its stems.

The sap contains organic compounds called furanocoumarins that can penetrate your skin

cells, getting right up into the nuclei alongside the cells' DNA.

If these compounds are then hit by ultraviolet radiation, you know, like sunlight, they can

absorb some of the light's energy and trigger two of the nucleotides in DNA, thymine and

cytosine, to form cross-links in your DNA strands that really shouldn't be there.

Enough of these unwelcome disruptions, and the cells stop working.

Hogweed's relatives actually produce these nasty compounds, too, but usually at lower

levels.

Though people have reported burns similar to hogweed from contact with carrots, celery,

or parsnips as well as some citrus fruits and figs that also make furanocoumarins.

And that's because regardless of where they come from, you experience this DNA damage

as a condition called phytophotodermatitis.

That's phyto, for plant, photo, for light, and dermatitis, for skin problem.

In response to light, your skin turns red and can develop nasty blisters and burns,

which can last for months.

You can also end up with dark patches because your skin tries to compensate for the light-induced

damage by producing the pigment melanin to absorb some of the rays.

Even after the initial burns heal, the affected skin can be sensitive to light for years.

And if all that's not awful enough, giant hogweed isn't just bad news for us.

It can spell trouble for native plant communities, too.

Each plant produces more than 20,000 seeds when it flowers, which it does just once.

That's a lot of potential baby hogweed plants.

As they grow, they can form tightly-packed stands.

And once established, giant hogweed lives up to its name, hogging all the resources

for itself.

Its huge size and giant leaves allow it to shade out and eventually eliminate its neighbors.

And studies suggest it may even poison neighboring plants by sending toxins through the soil.

If so, that means it engages in chemical warfare on multiple fronts, but the evidence is mixed.

Given all this, it might be hard to understand why gardeners brought such a horrific plant

around the world in the first place.

But not all non-native plants become giant hogweed-level menaces, so they probably didn't

see all this coming.

Scientists are still figuring out why some non-native plants become invasive, meaning

they cause serious harm ecologically, economically, or to human health, when others don't.

Giant hogweed has some characteristics that are often considered typical of aggressively

invasive plant species, like it produces a lot of seeds and grows really fast.

But it lacks others, like that those seeds aren't readily dispersed long distances

by birds and such.

Of course, no one plant has every characteristic that makes it a good invader, and multiple

strategies can lead to success in a new ecosystem.

So by studying species like giant hogweed, researchers can better predict what garden

favorites will wreak havoc.

In the meantime, if you spot something you think might be giant hogweed, take some photos

and send them to your local environmental authorities.

In the US, many states have invasive species task forces for this kind of thing, or if

nothing else, you can talk to someone at the nearest National or State Park or National

Wildlife Refuge.

And other countries usually have similar people you can inform.

Whatever you do, don't try to get rid of it yourself.

Really.

Just don't.

Trust us.

Thanks for watching this episode of SciShow!

Life, Sex & Death Among the Dire Wolves - Duration: 9:42.

I'd like to start by extending my personal thanks to a certain wolf that lived in North

America, back in the Pleistocene Epoch.

He was an average-sized adult male, probably around 65 kilograms, and … he'd done a

lot of living in his time.

He was stalking around what's now Southern California when he, and his pack, heard a

noise -- the sound of an animal in distress.

Maybe a bison, or a camel, or a ground sloth.

So the wolf and his pack went toward the sound.

Because, when you're a wolf, the sound of prey in distress might as well be a dinner

bell.

He found the animal stuck in a pit of thick, black, smelly goo, trapped.

So he moved in for the kill.

Until, he found himself trapped.

I don't know the name of this particular doggo.

But I do know that he existed.

Scientists refer to one of his bones as LACMHC 8291.

This wolf was only one of thousands of his species to die in this same spot in southern

California, over the course of thousands of years.

And I want to thank him, because the way in which he and his compatriots died that day,

has allowed us to learn an incredible amount about their species.

Their remains have taught us volumes about how they lived.

How they hunted.

How they died.

And way more about any individual animal's sex life than you'd ever want to know.

The specimen known today as LACMHC 8291 belonged to the greatest species of wolf that ever lived

The dire wolf.

Ok now no, this is not a Game of Thrones fan fiction episode.

Dire wolves were real!

They were among the most impressive members of the family Canidae, which has its roots

in North America.

Today canids include wolves, foxes, coyotes and dogs, all over the world.

And the biggest canids that ever lived were the borophagines, also known as the bone-crushing

dogs, which I've talked about before.

But around 30 million years ago, a new subfamily of canids appeared: Caninae, or canines, the

true dogs.

And at first, canines were pretty small, around the size of a fox.

Which was fine, because the bone-crushing dogs and cat-like nimravids already occupied

the role of large predator, so being small let canines take advantage of smaller prey

with less competition.

It took 23 million years before the ancestors of the dire wolves developed bigger

body sizes that could take on bigger prey, with canines the size of coyotes showing up

around 12 million years ago.

But it wasn't until about 3 million years ago, when the borophagines were declining,

that canines started to become wolf-sized.

And the most massive of these was Canis dirus, the dire wolf.

It lived in North America from about 840,000 to 11,000 years ago.

And it's also found in the fossil record of South America, from about 27,000 to 11,000

years ago.

So for nearly a million years, Dire wolves were widespread and abundant throughout the

Americas, found in grasslands and forests, and at elevations as high as 2200 meters.

And because they were so common, we have lots of fossils of them, which has given us an

especially vivid understanding of their biology, ecology, and behavior.

But no place in the world has shown us the life and death of dire wolves in as lucid

detail as the La Brea tar pits, where literally thousands of their remains have been unearthed.

This includes mah boi, the owner of the bone labelled LACMHC 8291.

Today, these tar pits are smack in the middle of downtown Los Angeles, and it's a fascinating

place.

It's full of these pools of what's commonly called tar, but is actually naturally occurring

asphalt -- basically a sticky, viscous version of petroleum.

And back in the Pleistocene, these asphalt pits were a textbook example of a predator

trap.

The pits simply trapped any animals that made the mistake of wading into them.

And once trapped, those animals' distress calls would draw predators to the scene.

But then, the predators would get stuck too – just like that wolf I told you about -- and

then their calls would in turn summon even more predators.

As a result of this grim dynamic, dire wolves are the most common fossil found at La Brea,

bar none, with more than 4,000 individuals found so far.

That's more than mammoths or saber tooths or even today's ubiquitous coyotes.

And with so many fossils at their disposal, paleontologists have been able to find outan

awful lot about Dire wolves.

For one thing, we know a lot about their true size.

The average dire wolf was about 60 to 68 kg, which is 20 kg heavier than the average of

their close cousin, the Gray Wolf.

And it's about 45 kg heavier than the average Coyote.

But even though Gray wolves and Dire Wolves were very different in their average weight,

they were probably quite similar in height and length.

Dire wolves were just stockier, with stronger bites and broader faces – a bruiser of a

wolf.

It's likely that packs of dire wolves hunted bison, camels, horses, and other large Pleistocene

animals – though probably not adult mammoths.

I mean, Dire wolves were big, but not that big.

But the bones at La Brea can even tell us how dire wolves hunted.

And how hard it was on their bodies.

Bone injuries in fossils tend to look like areas of strange texture – bumpy and overgrown,

or with pitted surfaces where bone is normally smooth.

Some bone injuries leave marks that are so distinct that scientists can even diagnose

specific diseases – like tuberculosis in mammoths, or infections caused by a blow from

a Stegosaurus' tail.

Which actually has happened.

And many of the dire wolf bones at La Brea turn out to be pathological, meaning they

show signs of things like infections, disease, or some sort of developmental deformity.

And among those pathological bones, 2% are the result of trauma, like fractures.

And one of them is that bone I told you about: LACMHC 8291.

Signs of trauma in dire wolves tend to be in the ankle, the wrist, or the neck.

Which are typical of pursuit predators.

So this suggests that the wolves were getting hurt while chasing down and subduing their

prey.

And dire wolves in La Brea also have a lot of broken teeth.

This probably came from eating the bones of their prey.

The bones of big herbivores contain a lot of fat, juicy marrow.

And while dire wolves didn't have the jaw strength of their cousins, the borophagines,

they could still crack open bones.

That marrow was just worth the risk of breaking some teeth.

And even the unusual number of dire wolves at La Brea tells us a lot about their behavior.

About a third of all the specimens at La Brea are Canis dirus.

So either they were just incredibly common, or, more likely, they were the sort of animal

that hunts down animals in distress: pack hunters.

I mean, it's not every predator that hears an animal in distress and decides to check

it out.

In Africa today, about 85% of the predators that respond to playback tapes of animals

in distress are social predators, predators that hunt in packs.

And hunters tend to respond to these sounds in groups, because they might need backup

to fight off other hungry predators that were drawn to the same sound.

Which is pretty clever.

At La Brea, this behavior is reflected by the fact that about a third of the dire wolves

found in the pits were juveniles -- puppies, following their pack to learn how to hunt.

..I can't believe you're making me talk about dead puppies

But maybe one of the most interesting insights into the behavior of dire wolves from La Brea

is an abundance of a small, rarely fossilized bone called a baculum.

A baculum is, quite simply, a penis bone.

Not all animals have them, as you've probably surmised, but carnivores, rodents, and many

primates do.

And about 400 bacula of Dire wolves have been preserved at La Brea – which has allowed

us to study their size and shape for clues into their mating behavior.

A dire wolf baculum is about 15 cm long, and 1.5 to 2 cm thick.

That's 2 and a half times as thick as the baculum of a gray wolf, and it's 1.5 times as long.

Or, if you prefer, it's 5 times as large by volume!

So, why was this unusually large piece of equipment necessary?

Well, it probably had to do with pack structure.

Among Dire wolves, males and females were about the same size, just like we see in most modern

canine species.

And they were probably forming packs with equal numbers of males and females, again, like

modern wolves do today.

So, males had to compete with other males a lot for access to breeding females.

But we know from their sheer numbers that dire wolf packs were probably larger than

those of modern wolves.

And we also know that larger packs mean more competition for mates.

And: modern animals that experience more male-to-male competition typically have larger bacula.

For example, the largest of these bones by far belong to walruses, which live in groups

of up to 20,000 during mating season.

And their bacula can be 45 to 60 cm long.

Wait

Why'd the music stop?

I'm not making a joke.

You think I'm going to say something?

I have nothing to add. Let's just carry on, shall we?

Longer bacula can help a male compete, because they're associated with what's called

prolonged intromission, or longer periods of copulation.

This helps keep other males from having access to the female.

But having a wider baculum is thought to offer a different advantage.

And that is, fights between males can break out during the act of mating– and fighting

while copulating can cause your baculum to … snap.

Having a thicker baculum means you're less likely to get injured during mating, so you

can mate successfully and pass on your genes.

And, sure enough, of the 400-some bacula found at La Brea, only 8 show signs of injury and

rehealing.

And one of them … was that same specimen that belonged to the hero in this story, LACMHC

8291.

This bone is a baculum, and it not only fractured, it was broken in half.

And then, the fractured segment of bone got turned around, and re-fused at an angle.

So yeah.

That's why I said that particular male wolf had done a lot of living.

He'd … seen some stuff.

But the point is, overall, Canis dirus had far fewer broken bacula than you'd expect

-- evidence that these wolves were well-adapted to a lifestyle where sexual competition was

fierce.

As we've mentioned before, proving any sort of group behavior in the fossil record is

really hard.

But we're able to do exactly that for the biggest wolves that ever lived, because of

the massive sample size at La Brea and other places.

Thanks to those sticky pits of asphalt, we know that dire wolves were truly big, really

mean to each other during mating, could crack open bison bones, and, by all accounts, were

very successful during the Pleistocene.

Yet despite that, they went extinct at the same time as most of the Pleistocene megafauna

– around 10 to 11 thousand years ago.

The reason for that extinction, as you know, is hotly debated.

Was it caused by a fast-warming climate?

Or the appearance of human hunters?

Or both?

No matter the cause, during that time, many of the biggest herbivores went extinct, leaving

the dire wolves with less food.

Without large prey, and without being able to adapt to smaller prey, to compete with

smaller canines like coyotes and gray wolves, the dire wolves disappeared.

That's why today, they're only found in museums, like the one in Los Angeles where

LACMHC 8291 is still housed.

It remains today as a reminder of that narrow window of often-dire times, when the dire

wolves lived and thrived.

Food Deals You Need To Know About In September 2018 - Duration: 3:55.

The only thing better than getting food for cheap is getting food for free.

When you know your meal didn't cost anything beyond the gas you used to drive to the restaurant,

that can make the whole day feel like a win.

September can be a rough time, what with all the back-to-school stress.

That's why we've put together some of our favorite meal deals for the month, to help

make things a little easier.

Whether it's a free burger or a steeply-discounted after-work drink, let's talk about how you

can get ahold of some great food deals.

Chick-fil-A

Chick-fil-A really wants you to download their app and they're offering up bribes to get

you.

If you sign up for a Chick-fil-A One account before September 29th, you'll get a free 8-piece

nugget order for your trouble.

And don't worry they're not skipping over customers who are part of the program already.

If you've already signed up for the official app, just sign in before the cut-off date

and you'll have free nuggets waiting for you, too.

White Castle

As if you needed another reason to head to White Castle, there are a couple more coming

up in September.

Head to their website, and you'll find a series of coupons for use on special days of the

year.

On September 18th, the restaurant chain is celebrating National Cheeseburger Day, offering

up a free cheese slider to go along with any other purchase.

They're doing something similar on September 29th for National Coffee Day, giving away

a free small coffee with any purchase.

These deals will only work if you have the coupon in hand, so you probably better print

them out now so you don't forget.

Moe's Southwest Grill

On September 20th, Moe's Southwest Grill will be celebrating Free Queso Day, which is exactly

what it sounds like.

It's white gold for everyone, no strings attached.

But that's not all they're offering.

If you check in to the restaurant with Moe's official app between September 1st and the

16th, you'll be entered into a contest to win free queso for life.

The app offers other opportunities, such as a free burrito on your birthday and similar

specials.

But if you don't want Moe's on your smartphone, you can head over to their Facebook page instead.

Put your email address in the pinned giveaway post, and enter the free queso for life contest

that way.

Hooters

If you're not a regular at Hooters or, if you're not a NASCAR fan you might not know

the restaurant chain sponsors driver Chase Elliott.

If you like free food, though, you might want to start checking race results.

For the rest of the NASCAR season, which goes until November 18th, Hooters will be giving

away free food, but only if Elliott does well.

Every time he wins a race, customers can go to Hooters on the following Monday, order

10 wings - any style, and get another 10 boneless wings on top for free.

If he places in the top 10, customers can get a free order of fried pickles with a drink

purchase.

Sizzler

It feels like there's a holiday for just about everything, but it's still surprising that

there's apparently a National Cheese Toast Day.

That blessed occasion is September 15th, and Sizzler will be giving away free orders of

cheese toast that day at participating locations.

But wait there's more.

On top of giving away free cheese toast, the restaurant is sweetening the pot with a selfie

contest.

Upload a picture of yourself and your cheese toast, and you'll be entered to win free food

and cash prizes.

If you live near a Sizzler, swing by and give it a shot.

You've got nothing to lose, and some tasty snacks to gain.

Pizza Hut

Since the mid-'80s, kids have taken advantage of Pizza Hut's sweet BOOK IT! program.

The promotion combines two of the world's most awesome things: free pizza and fine literature.

The incentive-based program offers up free, one-topping personal pan pizzas for kids who

meet their monthly reading goals.

The program technically runs from October through March, but sign-ups start in September,

so you can get ready for a year of reading and good eating right when the school year

starts.

Drink specials

But enough about food.

Let's talk about drink specials, for those days when you feel like having something that

hits a little harder than a free cup of coffee.

Applebee's will be spending the entire month of September offering $2 mugs of Sam Adams

Octoberfest on draft.

The worst thing about this deal is that the beer only comes in a 10-oz. glass, but at

a price so low, you can just keep 'em coming to your heart's content.

Meanwhile, Chili's will spend September offering a special $5 margarita called the Crown Apple

Crisp.

Made of tequila, apple whiskey, cranberry juice, and fresh sour, it's the perfect way

to ring in autumn without putting your wallet through the ringer.

Just don't overspend on the appetizers.

That's how they get you, after all.

الهواتف المثنية والملبوسة اقتربت! ال جي بتنزل جهاز بـ 5 كاميرات ! امازون تلحق ابل للتريليون دولار! - Duration: 11:25.

The new Xiaomi Mi Mix 3 support 5G, can you imagine that?

We will talk about Foldable Samsung phone and Amazon's 1 trillion USD market value

Let's get familiar with the news together.

Peace be upon you all. This is your host, Faisal Alsaif with a new Science and Technology news.

Let's start it with Mercedes will finally work on an electric car. It will be available in 2020.

It will be called EQC. It will drive up to 200 miles. It is supposed to bring great features and specs. It is the first Mercedes electric car!

It will be an SUV electric car, and will compete with the Tesla X SUV

It will also compete with other cars like Audi's, BMW and the crazy i-Pace from Jaguar.

Mercedes will officially compete with these companies' electric cars.

There weren't fully electric cars from Mercedes, but they have Hybrid cars with diesel engines, but this new electric car will make Mercedes enter this market.

They've added their own charging technology to the car, and the battery bed will be under the body!

The batteries will be huge. Mercedes will add their own touch to it.

If you look at the car from the front, you will know it is a Mercedes, but if you look at it from the back, you will realize that Mercedes has started a new electric car line!

I am sure you've heard about Amazon's 1 trillion USD market value.

Apple reached it first a month ago.

Apple was the first followed by Amazon.

Some people think that Amazon is a book company, but books is a small portion of Amazon's income now.

Digital book are also a small portion of their income. Books were the main thing about Amazon. Amazon was a library but now they sell everything!

Amazon will have new plans to be implemented in KSA and Middle East!

They bought Souq.com few years ago, which made Souq more developed

I expect at the end of this year, there will be a surprise with Souq for it will become Amazon!

This is my personal expectation. It was supposed to happen at the end of last year, but it didn't. With the coming White Friday, Souq will become Amazon.

Speaking about electronic stores, imagine Instagram are working on an electronic store!

There are millions of accounts on Instagram that sell services, food, products among many other things.

Instagram will create a new platform specialized for merchants and stores.

I personally saw this with lots of other companies

But it didn't succeed or become popular, because merchants and customers on Instagram are on the same platform.

It is hard to separate merchants from customers except if there were great features, which I doubt will be fully implemented.

In my tech life, I saw lots of people trying to have their own online social store, and they failed.

If your platform doesn't have users, entertainment, news and purchases together, your store won't succeed.

It has to be full package.

A review of Contour One X is available on the channel. It is for people who are interested in knowing their Glucose level in their blood.

In the last episode, we stated that Zain Fiber is now officially available in KSA. We asked you if it was the highest speed of internet in KSA

There are more high speed internet in the KSA, but from Zain and Fiber, it is the highest speed of internet.

87% of you said this is the highest internet speed, and it is great!

Some users on Instagram told me that the highest is 1GBps and sent me a picture of it! This is a picture of it! Thanks to him!

Let's discuss the next news. Google Chrome are celebrating their 10th anniversary of the web browser. They've changed the appearance of the browser.

The appearance of the browser will change to celebrate its 10th anniversary. It also has some new features.

When Google Chrome debuted, we all doubted it. But because it is a lite version of browsers, it succeeded in beating IE and Edge.

It also beat Mozilla and other browsers. It's become the best browser in Windows and macOS.

Nubia company showed their Alpha wearable smartphone. See the picture to understand its idea.

It was in a glass box. It was in IFA conference in Berlin. They said it is an OLED screen with many great specs and features.

Let's go back 5 years ago, there was a conference in Barcelona where Samsung showed the same concept with a flexible screen

The fact and reality is not in the initial tests, the fact is these flexible phones and watches is when they become a real product.

We will discuss it at the end of the episode. Let's discuss other news now.

Razer phone 2 could have added features that are taken from PCs where it can run PC apps.

The phone will run Android with integrated PC features. It could be Steam, we don't know yet.

The idea behind is that their phone is directed for gamers. They want to give the best gaming experience whether it on Android or PC

It is clear that they want to make a hybrid phone. We hope that will happen!

We asked you in the last episode about marketing and conferences and if you knew about it or not!

56% of you said they knew, and 43% said they didn't know!

It is great to educate others. You have to pay attention to all the details during any conference.

During a Huawei conference, I noticed that the pictures they were showing weren't taken by a Huawei phone!

They showed it as photos taken by a Huawei phone, but at the bottom of the picture, they stated that it wasn't taken by a phone!

It doesn't only happen in a Huawei conference, it also happens in Samsung and Apple. They write a disclaimer that tell the truth about what they are showing!

Let's move to the Xiaomi Mi Mix 3!

This phone was leaked. There was a 5G test conducted on it. Indeed Xiaomi added 5G to the Mi Mix 3!

It is a great thing. They surpassed Huawei, who are the biggest network manufacturer in China.

Xiaomi now will be able to compete with other Chinese companies. They produced a phone with 5G capabilities.

It is great to have a phone with 5G capabilities, though 5G won't be available until 2020.

Hurray, a phone with 5G capabilities!

Supposingly, 2019 is the year where 5G will be available. 5G will only provide better internet speeds and a more stable connection.

And by stable I mean a more stable internet connection.

Let's talk about LG V40 from LG.

There was a leak that showed the V40! It will have 5 cameras, 2 front facing cameras, and 3 rear cameras.

Will these cameras make this phone successful?

I hope this version will make the V series successful again. Do you remember the V10 and V20?

We'd know right away that this phone is special, but it is gone now. They changed the design, but if this phone is the new V40 it will be great.

Let's wait for LG and their new V40! Don't blame me that I am not excited. Are you too? Vote!

With all due respect for LG. They used to produce great products, but they've been gone in the past two years. I am excited for their return.

Let's wait and see!

Oppo Find X conference will be in 10th of Sep in Dubai. We will be there to cover it.

There will be another conference in Friday 14th of Sep. It will be an international drones exhibition.

It will be held in Jeddah, and God's willing, I will be the presenter.

I will post on Snapchat and Instagram about drones.

God's willing, it will be cool.

Let's talk about our last news; Samsung's foldable phone

In their conference in IFA, Samsung and their CEO talked about that it is time to show people the results of their researches and studies and show people the foldable phones.

It is expected that this phone will be announced in November.

It is not the official date, but rather, expectations.

There will be a big conference in Nov, where Samsung will announce their new phone.

And how it will perform next year.

I personally think it is a clever step from Samsung. They will make it after all the conference in 2018.

They will make their conference after all carriers and companies announce their new products.

Usually, no company make a conference in Nov. But Samsung will announce their new long-waited product!

Imagine a phone with no bezels that can fold!

Will it be fully adopted by users?

Will it be a familiar phone? No one knows as no one has seen it before.

If Samsung could pull this phone off, it means they are back to compete again with a new category.

If they do this, it means that Samsung cancelled the idea to have one conference to show their Note and S series.

There will be a new category, and while the Note and S series have matured, they will release the new foldable X category.

Let's wait and see. Are you, like me, excited for a new revolutionary communication device?

This is the end of the video. Glory and praise be to Allah. I witness there is no God but Allah. I ask Allah for forgiveness and I repent to Him.

Peace be upon you all.

Make Your Own Secret Ink! - Duration: 3:33.

[ INTRO ]

Squeaks and I are celebrating today.

Because guess what?

It's almost National Coloring Day!

[Squeaks cheers]

National Coloring Day is just what it sounds like: a day to color and have fun.

And that's exactly what we're going to do … with a special project.

We're going to make some invisible ink!

That means the ink will disappear, and then you can color over it to reveal a secret message.

All you'll need is baking soda, water, purple grape juice, two cups, a cotton swab like

a Q-tip,

and either a paint brush or a cotton ball.

Oh, and a piece of white paper to write on, and a grown-up, of course!

The first thing we'll do is mix a quarter of a cup of baking soda and a quarter of a

cup of water.

The measurements don't need to be exact —

we're just trying to make sure we have about the same amount of each.

This baking soda-water mixture will be our ink!

[Squeaks is surprised by how simple it is]

Yep, that's all there is to it!

Let's write something on this paper here.

Hmmm … let me think of a secret message for you, Squeaks …

OK!

Now all we have to do is wait for it to dry, and the message will be hidden!

It looks like the ink is dry, so the secret message is ready to be revealed!

The question is, are you ready, Squeaks?

Let's do it, then!

This is what the grape juice is for.

We'll dip the brush into the grape juice, and paint over the message.

Check it out!

Science is awesome

That was the message!

There are lots of ways to make invisible ink at home, but this is one of the easiest —

and, I think, the coolest!

Because we're doing the same thing lots of scientists do in their labs every day!

No, they're not writing secret messages.

But they do mix things together to learn more about them, like we just did!

The baking soda we used to make the invisible ink is really a type of chemical called a

base.

And when we added the grape juice to the base on the paper, they reacted to each other!

That means they changed.

When it touched the baking soda, a chemical in the grape juice changed to become darker.

That's why the parts of the paper where the message was got darker, and we were able

to read it!

Now, baking soda is a safe chemical, so we can cook with it and use it for experiments

at home, but scientists use it in their labs sometimes, too.

Actually, scientists use all kinds of bases in their labs,

and sometimes they need to be able to test if a chemical is a base.

To do that, they combine the chemical with something called an indicator.

That's another chemical that scientists know will change color if it mixes with a

base.

And guess what?

One of the ingredients in grape juice works as an indicator!

It's called an anthocyanin, and it becomes a darker purple color when it touches a base.

[Squeaks points out that grape juice is already purple]

That's true, the grape juice is already purple!

But when it touches a base like baking soda, it becomes a much darker purple.

So that's the scientific secret to our invisible ink.

And now we can write all the secret messages to each other we want …

as long as we have some grape juice on hand!

Thanks for joining us!

Are You Suffering From Migraines - Duration: 0:48.

- Are you suffering from migraines?

I'm Dr. Peter Antanavica with Leicester Spinal Wellness and today I'd like to go over some

of the causes of migraines.

One of the most typical causes is stress.

You take in stress from bad posture, from mental stresses and what happens is the vertebra

and the spine start to shift and twist and put pressure on these delicate nerves causing

the muscles in the back of the spine to really become tight.

So what we is we do a careful exam.

We find out where the vertebra are stuck and shifted, putting pressure on these nerves.

We do an adjustment to take the pressure off, to stimulate the nerves, so it allows the

power from the brain to get through to relax those muscles and release the migraine.
