Is someone here?!

I don't like sleeping In people's houses

It make's me feel weird

Or like a stealer

but..

The only thing I'm trying to do I survive

I've been looking for answers

For a very long time

But the only one I found

Is that nobody Is on earth anymore..

I Can't even remember

What happened

I'm struggling to remember

Who I am..

Mark!

What are you doing here? What happened?

It's been a long time brother!

How Is Mom.. and Dad doing?

Arthur..

They are gone

like everyone else..

What happened?

You know the answers..

It's just inside you...

I just did

A very weird dream

I do It often

But

In that one there was my brother

Who told me that

I had the anwsers

The answers to all of this

We were In a room

Strangely familiar

Wait!

I know where It Is!

It's In a house not far from here!

(Pierre) Hello?

(Arthur) Hello Is someone here!?

(Pierre) Yes! Who are you?

(Arthur) It's me Arthur, Arthur Tremblay

(Pierre) Arthur! It's me you're colleague, Pierre!

(Arthur) What? Pierre? My Colleague?

(Pierre) Yes! Don't you remember?

(Arthur) No I Don't remember anything! Not even why everyone Is gone!

(Pierre) Everyone Is gone?!

(Arthur) Yes! I looked the entire country no one Is here!

(Pierre) Oh no! What date are we?

(Arthur) I Don't exactly know but I know we are In 2021!

(Pierre) Arthur! We are In 2086!

(Arthur) What!?

(Pierre) You don't remember anything??

(Arthur) No explain me!!

(Pierre) You were an astronaut

(Pierre) We sended you In a mission to discover a new planet.

(Pierre) We lost contact with you 2 month after the launching

(Pierre) When you entered a Black Hole..

(Pierre) Which probably created a false reality

(Pierre) Where you're subconscious lives...

(Pierre) In other words..

(Pierre) You're not on Earth Arthur!

(Arthur) No! It's Impossible It Can't be!

(Pierre) Im sorry Arthur

(Pierre) We can't help you with that..

(Arthur) No wait please!!

The Ultimate Sunscreen Guide | What You Need To Know | UVA | UVB | SPF - Duration: 13:57.

hi everyone today I have a special guest

here with us to share some information

on sunscreens and Terri is a cosmetic

chemist and formulator and she's going

to bust some myths on sunscreens

thanks so much for having me Schellea and

I think there's just so much white noise

out there about sunscreens and makeup of

sunscreens and I just want to debunk

some myths today good and probably

talked about a few things firstly the

whole myth surrounding SPF and SPF is

meant to be the bill and then all in

fact it's really not for me oh you need

to look at UVB which is related to SPF

but we also need to look at UVA which is

the aging rays and also causing melanoma

and also infrared which is really in the

news lately and the aging consequences

of infrared rays so basically SPF is an

equation if you've done math you can

figure out SPF so SPF is how long it

takes you to burn with the sunscreen on

/ how long it takes you to burn without

any protection right so in this paper 15

for example it will take you 15 times

longer to burn with that product on then

if you just stood in the Sun on it on

your own without any protection so

that's all that is so it's only about

burning and the only race that can burn

you are UVB rays right hey something a B

is for burning let's how we figure that

out like maybe a on the other hand

penetrates much much much deeper into

the skin right into the dermis where all

that collagen all the fibers that make

us young youthful are and that is

insidious because we can't see the

consequences of that

so we tan with UVA but we don't burn so

that rule doesn't apply doesn't the

clothes fit yes so in 1530 a hundred

does not retire UVA okay you have to get

what's called a critical wavelength

which is a lot more complicated but you

know they have a PA rating and the

highest PA rating we can give is four

plus okay so and that gives you maximum

UVA protection

so remember beers for burning and a is

for aging and a whole lot of other

things as well as important a very

important is to protect from UVA so the

other thing is the FDA have stated that

the only ingredient that is capable of

fully protecting all skin from both UVA

and UVB is a mineral called a sink oxide

okay so zinc oxide in my opinion is the

gold standard of protection okay now

there are chemical sunscreens out there

and there's a lot of myths about how

dangerous they are and chemical

imbalances and hormonal imbalances there

is some truth to that in fact they're

actually banning an ingredient

oxybenzone Yan Hawaii because it's

actually caused the sterility in the

coral so there are repercussions of

using the so called

chemical sunscreens you know chemical

sunscreens are the absorbing once I go

inside your skin they take the Rays of

the UV rays and they convert the the

Rays to heat energy and make it less

damaging to the skin cells and that's

how they work it may also do scatter and

reflects sun rays as well on the other

hand the physical sunscreens are zinc

oxide titanium dioxide they sit on top

of the skin they do not absorb into the

skin okay on the top of the skin that I

reflect you the a and B they also do a

little bit of absorbing and scattering

but only on the top so they form like a

raincoat against UV rays very very

different to help yeah Organic

sunscreens or the chemical absorbers

were and the other thing is the myth

about waiting 15 minutes load of rubbish

you don't need to wait okay all this can

all the sunscreens omlette on the market

at the moment you can put on and go

outside the only reason they say wait is

they say allow for a little bit of time

fruit it was all on to the body surface

but it actually absorbs as soon as you

put it on it it pretty much you can go

any way you don't need to wait that

obligatory

ten to fifty okay okay especially with a

physical because you're putting a

barrier on it you don't have to wait for

that barrier to get there it's there

okay

don't wait 15 minutes Windu it's nothing

new yeah okay so what about

reapplying time do we need to reapply

okay so here's the other room is bust

again your physical sunscreens your

mineral sunscreen if you applied a layer

that's sufficient enough to block out

evm UVB then unless you move it you

don't lose it so my rule they say

sunscreens is simple to phrases you move

it you lose it

so if you are aspiring or rubbing your

face or you come out of the water and

you towel off yes you need to rotate but

my makeup today it's my sunscreen it's

protecting me from UVA which you gave us

through car windows and your office

window okay I I don't touch my face

during the day I usually let live it as

it is so I've got a perfect protection

until 10 o'clock tonight and we're

protecting from the aging right we are

the aging yeah and those UVA rays they

get into the dermis where our collagen

is and actually attacked the collagen

and don't that's why we find we would

get sun damage and wrinkling much

earlier yes so the the rays that you

can't see they're not burning us so that

we don't get burnt we don't yeah and

getting good-looking is people using

this is another thing the using an

American's SPF 100 so actually blowing

themselves into a false sense of

security because they're not burning

because remember it's SPF 100 is burning

so they're not burning but the UVA rays

may still be getting through and

destroying the collagen so the Rays go

through exactly and how do they get to

the collagen like how because that's

where well the collagen fibers are in

our dermis and the UVA rays reach that

point okay and actually activate our two

things activate and enzyme this is

getting a bit sciency yeah well matrix

metalloproteinase which is the enzyme

that degrades collagen and that's why

that happens and it also actually causes

mutations in our DNA in our skin cells

and that actually causes potentially

causes melanoma and faceless okay so not

good not good we need I tell you any

protectors is better than none yeah and

the best protection is clothing or four

walls and a roof family on that really

really good sounds great but the mineral

sunscreen if it's

like a raincoat it's like you know

that's like wearing your t-shirt well

you were in quietly it's a physical

barrier and the other thing is the old

days they used to have a very strict I

see now sunscreens have changed over the

years so the dosatron isn't as hard and

fast as it used to be some other

traditional sunscreens but particularly

in the chemical ones yes there is that

that five mil dosage rule oh five mil

cuando el to your face and five mil to

your body I know however there's this

new forms of sunscreen for example with

the mineral whip that I formulated it's

40% physical sunscreen and it's in a

format that the particles are actually

very very close together when they're

applied to the face so you do not have

to have a very very thick layer to

achieve protection if you imagine armed

zinc oxide and titanium dioxide there

they're large particles okay

and if they are applied in the correct

manner those particles should be

overlapping each other and forming a

continuous cover over the skin okay so

if there's dense enough particles and if

those particles aren't separated that

clumping together you'll get a fabulous

sun protection what you're really

wanting to achieve is UVA rating at

least four stars and there's nothing

wrong with SPF 15

in fact SPF 15 and SPF 30 there's less

than two percent difference in

protection okay

people think though this is the other

myth okay SPF 15 SPF 30 it's not double

it's not less than 2% more protection

well I think actually people are doing

themselves a disservice by buying SPF of

100 because all these consumers believe

that spf 400 is four times SPF 25

if we do not address it's not my only

idea I think that I've need to remember

my best it's probably about three

percent more protection than the SPF 15

I think that's it so we really need to

know that we can't be lulled into this

false sense of security

I don't think SPF is the only thing we

need to worry about okay and what's the

number-one thing you said with the new

technology what do we look for I'm going

to show everybody Terry's

foundation it's mineral whip and it's

amazing and I've been using it but what

what can we all be looking for well you

need time in terms of will in terms of

Australian standards we in makeup we can

put in this PF on it now mine's been

attested to SPF 40 and a four four plus

plus rating for PA which is UVA which is

the highest rating you can get to UVA

protection okay so that's been tested

independently on human subjects

okay plus in vitro and that's Nina

candid assessment okay so I know that my

product works so I thought what we do is

we'll have a bit of an experimentation

le really so what we might do is we

might just take off your makeup that

you're currently wearing click you your

nice cleanse and we will put them in or

a whip yes I have here and look my

product is not be bell and end all the

sunscreens there are a lot of very good

sounds yeah but this is amazing this is

yeah thank you but I just because I know

quite a bit about sunscreens and I are

passionate about protection to me the

best insurance policy for anti-aging is

sunscreen screen you can have all the

serums and and all the moisturizers you

like but is your Sun protecting don't

even bother okay to be honest so you can

see we've got a solid okay could make up

here okay so I'll it's a cream to powder

so what I've done is you've captured the

zinc oxide and titanium dioxide

particles pretty much in suspended

animation

they can't agglomerate because they're

caught in this beautiful film so there

there's not a lovely even surface of

titanium dioxide and zinc oxide there

anyway plus you've got your iron oxides

which give you the pigment because I

don't use other fish or colorless okay

and that also protects you against UVA

and UVB okay and also infrared which is

another thing to worry about that's

another video down the track I think

yeah so what we want to do is we want to

create a nice even coverage so you

basically can't see the skin anymore and

then what we're going to join ace your

days we're going to apply it on one side

of your face okay the other side

untreated and we're going to have

a scanner so when the UV is not

penetrating the skin the skin will sharp

and very very deep purple ok the skin is

unprotected it's got a washes grace you

to it in the photo ok now this photo is

showing half of my face done with the

general week yes on one side of the face

so on the right side as watching the

right side of Shelly's face has the

middle whip applied in a normal layer

normal layer of width and the other side

is left untouched you can see the UV

light is not penetrating because you can

see it's very very dark purple and that

shows through the UV scanner that the

light is not penetrating and any little

gaps will show us what spots so there's

no gaps you can see it's a complete

cohesive physical covering to Shelly's

face whereas the left-hand side is

obviously unprotected okay and you

didn't put much on now it's just a

normal amount of Sun and I think you

don't and so that's that's it's the

old-school sunscreen yes that holds true

but the newer sunscreens not all

sunscreens are created equal

particularly in makeup realm now you can

see Schellea's face now I've just finished

them in a website she's actually got

only have a side of her face now yeah so

she's got both sides done a normal

amount of makeup and she's fully

protected from uva and UVB all day yeah

yep and as long as she doesn't wipe it

off yeah so if I scratch it yeah bitch

they were gonna swim on reapply reapply

it okay and it is a beautiful finish

it's creamy and it's it's it's medium

coverage yeah I would say maybe he can

get a heavier coverage if you want I've

applied a normal to medium coverage yeah

and I'm wearing it today too

yeah and Terry is 55 by the way so she

looks amazing you look amazing thanks

show your eye you know I do add Sun

protected since I was in my late

twenties because I've still done a lot

of damage but luckily the ingredients

like vitamin A can reverse that

environment B can really get on top of

plus protection as I said Sun protect

Sun protect Sun protect three bits of

advice on on aging yes so obviously

works

amazing and it's not too late they're

never too late no we can't we can't

absolutely yeah look at 55 I still love

to go to Bali I love the Sun I love and

that we need our vitamin D yeah it's all

about moderation and understanding the

ability to protect ourselves effectively

okay okay that is so helpful and I think

doesn't matter what age you are you can

start looking up dest here we now know

that these mineral sunscreens are

amazing and a little link where you can

buy the mineral whip from synergy skin

and you sell this all over the world yes

we do with less distributors all over

the world and you can buy within

Australia online fantastic thank you so

much Terry it's been amazing talking to

you okay Cheryl thanks for teaching us

all about sunscreen and have a great day

MY NEW FAVOURITE YNGWIE MICROPHONE FOR METAL GUITAR - LEWITT YNGWIE MALMSTEEN - Duration: 5:37.

Hi I'm Ola Englund and today I'm trying out a bunch of microphones from Lewitt,

and before you're about to leave because you will never exchange your shitty ass old SM57

for another microphone let me say two very important words:

Yngwie Malmsteen.

uHUH pretty impressive huh.

Reason why I mention the Swedish god is because he's using one of these microphones, the MTP

440 DM, this one, he's using the MTP 440 DM and you know what they say, when Yngwie speaks,

like this, probably into this microphone, we listen...ok

So today I'm trying out the LCT 240 Pro condenser microphone, the MTP550 and the 440 dynamic

microphones and I will compare them and also put them head to head against the classics.

So for this test I'm using my my Randall Satan 50 into a Hesu 2x12 cab with demon speakers

in it.

I'm running a loop of a DI I made that will just run into the amplifier while I'm trying

out different microphones.

I will place all the microphones at the one and the same spot, which is between the cap

edge and the cone of the speaker.

And to be honest I'm ready to be surprised by the results.

I'm a big fan of what I've been using so far which is my beyer dynamic m160 and my SM58

but I'm open to change if these sound great.

I mean come on, Yngwie, Yngwie Malmsteen, or Ingysteen Malmateen...

oops Shit

So there you have it, which one did you think sounded the best? Let me know in the comments

section.

I think they all sound really good and it has actually kind of opened my ears, I'm hearing

some frequencies that I'm not used to but that I very much enjoy and my favourite out

of the bunch is the MTP440, that's the Ynwgie Malmsteen microphone, the reason why I like

it, it just sounds way more open than the other ones, sounds almost like it's pre-produced

or it sounds like it's non-voiced, and I really like that about this microphone.

So that's my favourite one.

And the other ones sounded great too.

I will probably use this one a lot more in my upcoming videos so I'm really looking forward

to that.

If you're a member of my Youtube channel, you will be able to download all the files

from the video so you can analyse, you can listen, you can have sex with the files, you

can do whatever you want, I don't care, you can do that and if you want to know more about

Lewitt and their microphones , check out... lewitt-audio.com

Thank you so much for watching, don't forget to subscribe, thank you.

Bye!

🇦🇷[La Voz de los DOCUMENTALES] Ernesto Frith🎥📡 - Duration: 8:37.

How tall is this!

The issue is how you count it

I'm Nacho Cabrera Newscaster Voice Talent

Training your Voz.Een this channel we

we put all the challenges of voice. Today

we will have a very interesting. The voice of

Argentine documentaries. A voice

It has accompanied us during the decades of

80's and 90's and has been

absolutely imprinted in our memory,

in our hearing fingerprint. He

Newsreader Ernesto great Frith. "It was a bright

March morning when we flew over

the coastal cliffs of northern tip "

"It was a bright morning in March when

We flew over the coastal cliffs

north tip "

"It was a bright morning was March"

To reach this voice first of all ....

You, for example, you put too

relaxed here in your chest? For do

super low, deep voice could

Apparently that is the great solution.

For always there will also depend on

your ear, your ear as you perceive the style in which that person speaks

How serious is his voice, etc .Evidentemente

It is a serious voice but only by staying in

the portion of the resonator chest and

doing something very open in vocalization,

looking very eloquently express,

taking strong your voice to the outside ... not

It will be enough and now I'll

explain why.

"It was a bright March morning"

"It was a bright morning in March," If you

"It was a light ..." Put that way the

timbral aspect and one aspect

Interpretation also be outside, are leaving

considered. You can reach the

Ernesto Frith emits frequencies but something

characteristic of his voice is not

It is achieved when simply spears

the voice outside and you express yourself and open

mouth wide, it will not work. "it was one

bright March morning was a

bright March morning "this is the

secret....

Your tongue will have to leave the party

low not remain completely crushed,

It must be in a kind of

levitation but somewhat rigid and the same

It goes almost to touch the teeth

sides of the inner part, in this way.

And it will of course part

tip to play freely and go

making contact movements

the various internal parts

do just vocalization

correct. Another point very

important to keep in mind for

Ernesto Fritz voice is as follows

let's listen. "It was a bright

March morning "There is a lot of information to develop

"It was a bright morning

March, "Perceive you could say" was a

bright March morning, it was a

bright March morning, it was a

light, it was a bright morning

March and none of them is correct. why ?

Because we will combine your voice with a

that is to say very specific ... Ehhhhhhh

To get that sound will AHHHHHHEEEE

Let's squeeze here and wanted to book

this concept so you have very

of course especially for those

and constantly handling equipment

also certain elements

sound regulation. A compressor! East

It was a compressor man. A voice

impressive permanently

largaba super stable signal. This has

corroborated by people who recorded with,

who had the pleasure of working with him.

There was a full stability in their

signal. Sometimes it happens, all more or less, that

when we talk generated peaks and valleys.

Ups and downs that make ....... or when

We reached the end for example is

difficult to sustain the sound. Especially in some

moments of aggravated voice is more difficult

hold "was a March morning" when

we "March," the letter O the end, sometimes it burns out or becomes weak

It is not the case Frith "It was

one morning in March "there is a sustaining

Letter to the end and that in the graph

Audio would be practically drawn

as long as it estable.Eso

or achieves a great professional but with the

help from

a compressor, an expander, etc. "It was a bright morning

March was a bright March morning "

You can follow this wide open aaaaa sound? AHHHHHH does not work

Look at the language AHHHHH

"It was was was a bright morning" let's take

sound to this part of the mask

a slight nasalización to generate a

SPL luck here

ahead. As if you did this gesture so

"It was a bright morning of March March"

support point O to the end

Another feature super important

letter S is super smooth, is

present all the time perfectly

All vocals and lyrics

placed. Even considering that the 80's and 90's was not the globalized market and many people in the market even within

River

Silver did not know the Spanish Neutral, 'and Frith, could do a very good job and neutral

"It was a bright morning

March March "was a bright morning

March, "The documentary genre is very

interesting to play in this program,

obviously particularly here with this

video tutorial where the narrative will

reason with all images.

Obviously we have a documentary

more from the eighties and nineties

a little slower

with respect to vertiginosidad

which exists today. Anyway there

certain issues which are very

present until today and is that

the voice of the documentary is not going

Humorous or become the

ready. It is a voice guide, that somehow

way is simplifying the task of

speak for one talking on the other, it is a

voice that knows or at least has

guidelines to go by telling you things. This

is what makes Ernesto Frith through

one holding the note permanently. A

voice very well placed. "it was one

bright March morning when

we flew over the coastal cliffs of

tip

north northern tip "Listen carefully northern tip

He does not say so; "Northern tip tip tip north

north northern tip tip tip north

North "" It was a bright

March morning when we flew over

the coastal cliffs of northern point "and

logically sound note also

pretty hollow

which will be achieved by holding the

cheeks here, pressing a poc, or if

You want you can try to squeeze or distend

or open them. In this case I think it will not

help beyond deformation or

see ridiculous for doing this, but go

testing your resonators, plays the part

pectoris. You will notice that besides sounding

grave is not the only part you should

consider, but it is

the part of speech. All you have

to do with the expression "was a

bright March morning March, "and

letters are not fully open.

No sound "was a light was a

bright March morning "OOOO but everything

It tends to sound a form E

It seems that everything is amalgamated into a

sound slightly EO

That's the sound "was a bright

March morning "Even the word March

if much would exaggerate sounding MARZEEEE

March March March "was a bright

March morning "A voice absolutely

Incredible born in Argentina in 1939

It died in 1995 that he left us and

given their voice and say forever.

A study, to share and to draw

better conclusions with each of the

voices we put into practice

training course on channel your voice

Farmer Derek Klingenberg - Q&A Interview - Duration: 7:57.

hey welcome back to another accidentally

video we have a special guest today this

is farmer Derek and some of you have

probably seen his videos but you not

might not have been to his channel it's

farmer Derek Klingenberg and why don't

you just tell me a little bit about your

channel let's try some people who might

have seen your videos but don't realize

that this is the guy behind the magic so

well the video that everybody's seen is

a I go out on the Prairie with my

trombone and I start playing and all the

cattle come in and so most people seen

that every time we're on an airplane my

wife asked the person next to them have

you seen that video and they're like yes

and then I also do a lot of different

parodies like what does the farmer

saying yeah the most popular and then I

do a lot of weird stuff and weirder

stuff and it's a lot of fun yeah so I

saw a recent video where you slept

overnight in the hammock on top of a

pivot yeah yeah yeah that was worth it

really yeah

I don't it was a little wet and cold you

know but it was just kind of fun yeah it

looked really cool and then there's

another video where you you you

basically harvested enough for the field

to make it look like a play button well

ya know I grew corn and soy okay so so

the borders around it is corn and the

triangles corn and then like the button

is beans okay yeah I thought you just

had you know made windrows and then

yeah so another question I have for you

is in the video where what does the

farmer say there's a really short clip

that stood out to me more than the rest

of the video and it's where you're

laying in the grain yeah and you pop up

tell me like that's only a couple

seconds of the video but tell me the

background behind me so my good shot

okay so like I don't know a few months

before that I was like okay I'm gonna

lay in a bunk grant my brother you put

feet over me and I'm and I had an air

hose and a mask and I'm gonna see how

long I can survive right huh and so we

filmed it you speed it up and you just

watch him eat it and there's this body

you know it was them it was the worst

thing you'd ever seated your life and my

friends are like no okay

see there was weird no because it looks

like there's a dead body in the body and

then I'm doing was a pharmacy I'm like I

should just pop out of it and so so I

laid there and he went over and then

yeah

can you see he's feeding right in front

of me hey it's pretty quick so I know

yeah so right after he went by me then I

just shot up and I I lips thank you

yeah that's an example of a bad idea

turned into a really good idea yeah how

long ago

like did you start YouTube maybe give me

a glimpse of like your YouTube

experience and how

it got to where it's at today well we

first started a group called the possum

boys a while ago when I was out of

college my brothers and I some others

and then we disbanded and I had written

some songs funny farm songs and so I was

really upset that we disbanded so I went

and bought a video camera and then I

realized there's software to edit it so

you know when I was a kid I was just

hitting record stop on the VHS yeah

terrible so I started making music

videos of the songs that I had written

and I spent like a whole year doing

bumblebees in the hay and possum in the

barn and then I release oh I didn't even

know about YouTube meaning this I didn't

have internet so I went and uploaded it

on my brother's computer right next door

and then nobody watched it and then all

sudden people started watching it cuz

his wife shared it on Facebook well I

don't know what Facebook is I don't know

what sharing is so you know I'm trying

to learn all this and it was popular in

locally mm-hmm and my brother got a lot

of attention cuz he's the bumblebee and

he does not want attention so I'm loving

this yeah and I started doing job that

was oh 9 January 109 ok and then I

started getting hiring people were

hiring me to make videos I always wanted

to be in a commercial so I put myself in

at the end women after that I was like I

don't like working for people because

you know sometimes they say no to an

idea yes can't say no I song called

daddy D when I put that up and then all

winter I could start cranking them out

trying to learn what I need to put out

but then I came up with was a farmer say

eventually yeah my other question for

you is like tell me something weird

that's happened related to your channel

just a story that maybe you want to

share with my audience well I have

plenty of weird things that have

happened one of them was America's Got

Talent called me and wanted me to do the

90 second audition on stage in LA where

I play my trombone and call the cows in

really yeah and he thought he could get

some California cows they could get some

and we could try it I'm like are you

sure I was like maybe you better think

about this and call me back tomorrow and

so he didn't call me back so after the

cow Chow boat I didn't have time for

anything I I learned that the richest

countries in the world are Japan Germany

and us because they were the most amazed

by the video because I believe they're

the most removed from agriculture and

stuff but it worked out with the time

change so I'd start interviews at like

5:00 in the morning I would hit up like

Japan Europe and then in the evenings I

was talking to LA producers at night cuz

I got all these reality TV show ideas

which I know it was overwhelming though

it was like at one point I gave my phone

to my wife I said I'm done just just you

can just email back the if they're

national news world news or whatever the

yes is it so a lot of your videos are

related to farming and with cows is

there anything else in your life that

you know your audience doesn't see in

your videos that you like to do or you

enjoy well I do a lot of both honey I

actually don't do as much anymore but I

always liked filming them so I felt a

lot of deer and stuff I've showed a few

things in my videos like I've built this

awesome deer stand

designed for filming out of and it's

great for my girls to come hang out yeah

drink chocolate milk

alright I ran into this guy over

wintering in February

and I finally got a really good video of

them then he walks behind a tree and

comes out one antler huh and he's just

like this and then and then I go out and

grab the antler and then we couldn't

find it for two years and then we had a

snowstorm and the ditch mantid down the

grass and the neighbor girl found it huh

and I went on honeymoon with my wife

coming back and he took my antler he

snuck in here and grab it and then he

mounted it for me on a oh just an antler

down

yeah and gave it to me and then a few

years ago we put it on a deer yeah it's

cool it's about 200 inches Wow

French Bulldog vs. Boston Terrier Which is Better? Dog vs. Dog - Duration: 8:10.

You're Watching Animal Facts!

It can sometimes be hard to distinguish between the adorable Boston Terrier and French Bulldog.

They do look quite similar.

But, cuteness and those adorable upright ears aside, there are a lot of similarities and

differences between the two breeds.

Let's learn more about these lovable dogs and choose a favorite.

If that's even possible.

Let's get started, but before we start, make sure to hit that subscribe button and

click the bell icon to become part of our notification squad.

History

When we examine the histories of these two breeds, it's easy to see why they are often

confused.

The French Bulldog and Boston Terrier share a common ancestor – the English Bulldog.

The Frenchie, as they are affectionately known by fans, actually started life in jolly old

England.

During the Industrial Revolution, English lacemakers took their small Bulldogs with

them to work in Normandy, as their furry companions were originally very popular ratters.

In France, the dogs were then bred with French Terriers to become the French Bulldog we know

and love today.

The breed became popular with Parisian women who championed their bat-like ears.

The Boston Terrier gets its name from, you guessed it, Boston, Massachusetts in the good

ol' US of A.

In the 1870s, this American-made breed was originally a cross between the English Bulldog

and now extinct English White Terrier called the Hooper's Judge.

Over the years, crossbreeding with the English Bull Terrier, the Boxer, the Pit Bull Terrier

and the French Bulldog resulted in what is now the modern Boston Terrier.

An interesting fact – the Boston Terrier was the first non-sporting breed created in

the US.

Appearance

The most obvious place to start when trying to determine who is who among these two dogs

is appearance.

While they do have similarities such as short snouts, docked or minimal tails, short coats,

upright ears, bug eyes and adorable smiles, there are some differences that make it easy

to tell them apart.

The French Bulldog has shorter legs and a more muscular build than its Boston counterpart

as well as a heavier bone structure.

It also has a large, square-shaped head, with rounded tips on its bat-like ears.

The Boston Terrier, on the other hand, has longer, leaner legs, a rounded head with pointed

tips on its ears.

Their flatter faces mean that both dogs are brachycephalic breeds.

Their tiny nostrils, long palates, and narrow tracheas can cause health and breathing problems.

Size

Boston Terriers and French Bulldogs are both similarly-sized small dogs.

The Frenchie is the heavyweight of the two, usually weighing between 20-28 pounds and

standing between 14 to 16 inches tall, while the Boston Terrier, usually weighs between

15-25 pounds at 11 to 13 inches tall.

Coat and Colors

Both breeds have short coats, making grooming low maintenance.

Since their hair is so short, there is little to no odor and mild shedding.

Boston Terriers are known as the "American Gentleman" for their tuxedo-like markings

in brindle, seal or black with white.

The French Bulldogs have a much wider variety of colors that include: Brindle, Brindle & White,

Cream, Fawn, Fawn & White, Fawn Brindle, White, White & Brindle, White & Fawn And more!

Due to their short coats, both breeds can be sensitive to extreme cold.

Before we continue, have you checked out our Merch yet?

We've got some cool shirts we think you'll like.

Check 'em out in the comments.

Personalities

They may be small in size, but both Frenchies and Bosties are far from small in personality.

Both breeds are very friendly, loving breeds and make excellent family companions.

The Boston Terrier can be lively, alert and intelligent and can go from having bursts

of energy to wanting to curl up and have a cuddle.

The Frenchie, also nicknamed the "Clown in a Clock of a Philosopher" for its entertaining

personality, has an equally friendly disposition.

Frenchies are renowned for making their owners laugh, are very affectionate and love to cuddle.

Boston Terriers learn quickly and are a great dog for first-time dog owners looking for

an obedient dog who will listen most of the time.

French Bulldogs, like most "Bully breeds", can be a bit on the stubborn side and may

require constant training to nail down the behaviors you're looking for.

Activity Levels

Boston Terriers are active dogs.

They love to jump, run, play and chase and are occasionally known to swim.

They can be great running companions as long as you're aware of the signs they may be

overheating due to their short snout.

Some Boston Terriers can become obsessed with doggie toys and may want to play nonstop.

French Bulldogs are more on the relaxed side due to their heavier build, which makes them

less agile when it comes to running and jumping.

But, they can be energetic, as well!

A long walk or mild hike is a great source of exercise for a French Bulldog, who is prone

to obesity if not exercised regularly.

Both breeds adapt very well to apartment living.

They're both great at being able to control their energy indoors and are very adaptable

to new living situations.

Both dogs are super loving breeds and make great family pets.

Health and Lifespan

The average lifespan of a French Bulldog is over 10 to 12 years while Boston Terriers

live 13-15 years.

Their short muzzles make them both prone to respiratory problems and are at risk of heat

stroke in hot weather.

As stated earlier, French Bulldogs can suffer from obesity if overfed and under-exercised.

They can also have problems with their eyes, heart, and back.

Boston Terriers are prone to cataracts and seizures and may suffer from allergies and

deafness.

And, while this is not a health concern, well, at least not for the dog, the Frenchie is

notorious for its not so pleasant smelling gas.

This little dog can literally clear a room and look at you like you did it.

So, which breed wins this bat-eared battle, the OG French Bulldog or the American Gentleman,

the Boston Terrier?

That's up to you.

You tell us in the comments.

If there are other breeds you'd like us to compare, shout them out, we'll give them

a look.

An Honest Review Of TULUM - Worth The Hype?! - Duration: 16:10.

Now before you booked your ticket and board your flight heading to Tulum Mexico, I highly recommend that you watch this entire video

It's a critical real and raw review of Tulum

It shows you the pros the cons and all the things that a single Instagram post cannot so without further ado

Let's start the video guys. Welcome to beautiful. Beautiful Tulum in Mexico

It is my first time here and I could not be more excited to go and explore. I gotta say we arrived yesterday

It's been a bit of a bumpy start

I need to give it a fair chance now to get started this right here is our room

That is Kathy wanna pull my stuff. Oh

My I'm very hungry right now, this is our room it's a hundred and twenty dollars a night definitely not in Southeast Asia

It's very very expensive here in Tulum. But this is actually really good value considering how expensive it is in this area

We've got a/c we've got a fan. I'm pretty sure electricity runs through most of the day

I think there might be a slight off period you're kind of expected not to be in your room all day

Which is very understandable. So just outside here. You can see we have the ocean. It's so so beautiful

The beach is literally picture-perfect, but there is one catch

This is what you've got

Do you see that water? There's a certain plankton and algae that it's currently going crazy and it's turned the water red

So what should be a beautiful blue white sand beach has become not as beautiful this time of the year

I was talking to a security guard he was saying typically it's about one month of the year that they see it happen maybe even

As little as two weeks this time around it's been seven months and they have no idea why it's still going on

But maybe it's like a sign of global warming. I don't know either way. It's been really bad for tourists

It's been really bad for businesses here. Nobody wants to see red murky water

And unfortunately, that's what we've got. The place we're staying at is called cocoa limited

We're paying for it ourselves so it can be as brutally honest as we need to be. Yeah, I'd like pretty mixed reviews

But so far, I'm happy with it. The only thing is

Wi-Fi Wi-Fi has been really tough throughout all of Tulum

We got our phones set up with telcel which is like the best reception in Mexico, and it's just constant dead zones

Now to get around Mexico there's different ways you can do it it's not exactly the world's most accessible place

So we've decided to rent a car at $40 a day. It's a standard four-door gonna live

Yeah, so just off the main road here. We've entered into a random little cenote

I don't know if it's a good one or what but we've just found it. It was a hundred pesos to get in

Were you ever a gymnast?

I swear. Oh, wow. They know they grew here. It's a wild cerveza

Here we go

She can see it but the water is so clear. It's got like an emerald green to it Essaouira de salta and this

Disorder disorde are uh, Nelson

Cathy just considering going in I'm gonna give her a bit of a help

Now here's the thing if you plan to walk around Tulum

You're gonna be on the very same street that all the cars are going down the motorbikes the cyclists to be honest

It's a little bit unsettling. There's a lot of traffic coming through here on these narrow roads

Now you do have another option and that is to rent a bicycle

You do see a lot of people doing that they have they're very cool laid-back custom pastel colored bike

But the thing is they're on the exact same roads as the cars

What do you think you had to walk to the market last night?

I had to go to the market and I was walking it was completely dark. I couldn't see there is no Street

so I decided to rent a bike and it was even scarier because I was

Traveling he's peddling penguin, and I couldn't see where I was going

So I literally had to stop and wait for cards to pass by so I can see where I was going

Yes, Kerry

We just left us a note a and we said, okay

Let's take a drive to see what we can find around most of the time

There is no signal at all and we're helpless. I really don't know where we're going

We don't know what time things open or close that you know, nothing. No, maybe bring up print map

It will be more useful way more use

So right now it's actually July which is the offseason here in Tulum, but still even though it's the offseason

It feels like a ghost town a very beautiful trendy ghost town, but there's no life right now

And that's the disappointing thing to it

You know, you can have all the beautiful restaurants shops in the world

But if there's no life behind it, it's like there's no real point. It just feels superficial

I would be curious to see what it's like during November December when all the north Americans are trying to run away from the cold

But okay

I need to stop this video right here because Here I am editing this video one month later thinking to myself

Is this my own evil lost twin?

Because all I can hear from myself is negativity and criticism

But the truth is this video was meant to share with you the feelings

We felt the experiences we experienced but the great thing was there was amazing things about this trip, too

So it is now time to focus on the amazing things that Tulum has to offer starting right here

With such a beautiful beautiful Beach, you need to enjoy some romantic nights by it

So Kathy and I have come to a restaurant by the name of Mia and we're gonna have their assortment of tastings tonight

This is a Portobello confit. It's basically like the Wagyu steak of mushrooms

It is looking really delicious. The fig salad was like one of the best salads I've ever had. So this will be very good

This is ridiculously good

Every single dish has being a piece of heaven in my mouth like really really good. This is amazing masterpiece

creme brulee. Yes. Oh my

This is amazing one of my top 5 meals of my entire life

Everything all five courses were like ten of the tens. You have to come to Mia if you're coming at tulum

Definitely not a cheap meal, but overall worth every dollar. It's just so so good

All right guys, 30 minutes outside of Tulum. We have arrived here at muy at the lagoon

Oh my gosh, it's expensive, but we've done it

Anyways, it is seven hundred pesos per passenger to get a one-and-a-half hour excursion on these motor boats

But it looked really cool when the guys showed us the photo so I think it's worth it

We got to do something exciting here. And I think this is one of the best ways to do it

There's like no one else here, which is definitely great. This is our friend here Lana

Now the really great thing is because it's a lagoon. It is not affected by the sort of gas

So in the ocean, so right now the water is like that beautiful crystal

pastel blue

The water is amazing, oh we're going through the mangroves

Mission Impossible is pretty cool. Wow, this is so beautiful. Are there crocodiles in here?

We had a quick little stop here along the way before we get into the river wait, so what is it

is used to

Control the commerce that they used to make so as you can see Mayans were in that whole I definitely know where your ancestry from

You don't even need to take a DNA test very this explains it all. Oh no, I like that

They wanted people to make a reverence

Well, they wanted you to bow before getting it

Okay, it's a little taller in here

Okay, cool. Yeah history now

We are entering into the Little River area where we're gonna be floating for 40 minutes

This is actually what sold me on paying seven hundred pesos per person to come here. It looked really beautiful in the photos

Alright guys, this is how you get the shot. It's also a really hot. Look this season

It's called a double life Jack flotation device. Now. I can use the camera in the river. Let's go

Her portable change room goes wherever she needs. She looks like she lives in the highlands of Peru. Oh

And she's transformed into a bikini model

Yes

Wow the currents strong I'm going see you later everyone

Everyone's looking at me like is that waterproof?

And I'm like no and they're like, well, you better keep it up of water for a long time

I think we have about 40 minutes in here. Look at your camera. Hey, Emma jealous

It's super easy to see here you really need nothing and even if the water is super clear you can't see really well

What's below you so it's a little bit scary

Considering that Kristen told me that he saw a picture with a crocodile. Yeah

It is so peaceful. So quiet in here, and there's no one else

Definitely was worth the money didn't they gotta say that actually?

I'm very glad we were so close to walking away turned out turned out real nice

Three days later and we've made it huzza. Can we go around again?

Alright guys, that was absolutely awesome and that right

There is the power of taking the word of a local so, you know

You may be watching this video and I'm glad I can share a bit of information with you

But don't hesitate to talk to local people store owners. They always have the best insight no matter where you are so far

This is one of the high

later

So there is an absurd line right now we've just arrived at the Mayan ruin which is located like right on the ocean

But we've just found out that this line is actually just for local people

I guess they get in for free, but they have to wait in that crazy line if you pay you can skip it

Well, it was about three and a half dollars to completely. Skip a 3045 minute line

alright

so I had to leave the drone and

My entire bag with the desk if I was gonna come in here, so Kathy's just waiting outside with the bag

I respect that to some extent but at a certain point we left the drone and he's like no

I want your whole bag. You can't bring your lenses which are totally allowed in here. So

not impressed with the

Experience. What the heck is that? That's just inside here

there's this I think it's called the svet just like this raccoon put on a diet and

Here we are part of the ruins red leaf fusion spots

I'm gonna quickly run over because I know Cassie's waiting for me at the front

We're not gonna spend much time here, but it's very very beautiful

I don't know if you can see this guys, but the two iguanas are like communicating with like this head-banging motion

They're like punk rockers. These guys are so metals

Guys as a baby svet look how tiny he is. I came back and she's doing a meet-and-greet over here boy your fans

I thought it was beautiful, but it's all roped off so you can go into the ruins

You can't really even get that close to them interested in the history

Yeah

I mean it's sad but it's a nobody Fiona to go there and have like a beautiful view and just being by yourself

And take nice pictures. It's not the spa. That's place

But I did see little savants. So I'm happy. That's all I needed. Oh

no signal

Alright guys, so I've already had a taco and I have to say these are some of the best I've ever had now

This is habanero sauce and Kathy's been daring me to try for the longest time. It's the black stuff

I just want to prove to you guys that I'm a real man. It's not the real

You get more spicy more hot sauces you're saying a little hotter

And it wouldn't be a real dinner out without a cocktail Kathy got herself the Pina Colada and I got jungle fever

Which is also a mezcal base cocktail here, but with jalapeno peppers. It's like a six out of ten on the spicy scale

I love it

Well guys if you want to experience what I consider to be the best taco I've had get the beef brisket taco here

It's about 13 US dollars, you know, everything here is quite expensive as all of Tulum

But I do think this is a restaurant that can back up the price. I absolutely love my food

I think we made a mistake either so

Get away from mine you Bob digging up for you

All right, it is our last night here and we're back at the hotel room early in the morning

We're gonna take you to one of the most famous cenotes in this area

And I'm very excited about that because it should be one of the highlights of Tulum

Is one of the main attractions to Tulum and it is a

Official cenote the one we went to just off the street and saloon was like yeah, who is okay?

It was a little watering hole

This is a true cenote as I would picture it that beautiful blue water

Underground feeling this one here is called two eyes or Dos Passos those oils

I'll get back to you with my translator. This is the credible Blues that you get out of it

It's so beautiful

To come here was 350 pesos per person and there's actually like a multitude of difference to notice in this area

We came here just to kind of see the biggest and the best and this is the one here

There's many many more outside of Tulum. But this one here was only about a 20-minute drive away

So it's pretty cool right at the end of the day. There's barely anybody here. This is absolutely incredible. It's

260 kilometers roughly of underground rivers and this is just a small fragment of it that you're seeing here

The water is some of the clearest you'll ever see and when the light hits it it turns just into that

Perfect blue ass water my favorite color and I got to wrap up this trip because it's been a polarizing one

It's got some good sides

it's got some very negative sides and I want to give a well-rounded review unto them because

Ultimately, I know it's your hard-earned dollars that are deciding whether you come vacation here or go somewhere else

Now the positives have definitely been that it's absolutely beautiful the landscape

I can picture the beach with the blue water the perfect white sand the cenotes the trendy coffee shops and acai bowls

It's very very picturesque. And that is something that I really greatly appreciate another

One of the positives is the food we had some amazing food and the people the people have been really good to us the Mexican

people are truly incredible now the downsides as you've seen throughout this video poor Wi-Fi - no Wi-Fi

certain limitations to the hotel's

Incredibly expensive whether you're staying in Tulum or going on a boat trip

Everything is just cachinga ching ditching and it gets so expensive so quickly that for me is a big negative

Another negative is that you're probably gonna need to rent a car

If you don't you're gonna be spending a lot of energy getting around on bicycles

Because it's just so hot during the day. I found that things for the most part weren't very accessible, which is unfortunate

Everything is along one Street on a perpendicular line

There's no real hub where you can go shopping hang out have like five or six

Seven restaurants that are all like right across from each other

everything is just spread out and I really didn't like that part and now the last thing and I really hate kicking businesses while they're

Down ultimately, I want to support local businesses, but you guys come first the travelers

I want to make sure that you have the educated decision when you come traveling and with the sargasso right now

It's truly making the beach

Unusable, it's not beautiful. It's completely unstable. You wouldn't really want to spend your time or your money near that Beach now

I really hope for the locals here for the businesses that that clears up sometime soon

but in the meantime

It is in a rough state and the thing is it's been here for seven months and they don't know when it's going to stop

so make sure you've researched whether it's Sur Gossow has

eliminated and for how long

Because there is a chance that you could book your tickets and it could be back next week or the week after

See if it's been gone for a long period of time

Hopefully that will help you make your decision guys

If you're new to my channel

Then hit the subscribe button right up there if you want to watch another video check that one out right there

And as always guys, let's go lost again in the next one

Talking about LOVE in English ❤️❤️❤️ Idioms & Phrasal Verbs - Duration: 19:14.

Hello I'm Emma from mmmEnglish!

Today I want to introduce my friend, Mark.

He is a

relationship expert, dating coach, life coach

and we've been hanging out a little bit lately because

Mark has a Youtube channel as well

where he - you help primarily

women in relationships

and in difficult sort-of periods of their life

to improve relationships with the people around them,

right? Tell us a bit about what you do.

Exactly, exactly.

So I'm a life, dating and relationship coach

from here in Australia.

I met Emma at a Sydney event and just

loveliest, lovely woman.

And my channel is about empowering women

through growth, self-esteem and authenticity.

And basically by that

- what does that mean, 'authenticity'?

What does that mean?

Yeah so it just means about being real.

Being yourself.

So this is talking about the adjective 'authentic' as well.

So 'authenticity' is related to the adjective 'authentic'

which just means real. So talking about relationships

and particularly between women and their partners,

making them real and meaningful and honest, right?

Yes exactly. Honest, open.

Vulnerable and connecting.

Oh my gosh so many good words there!

We're going to pop some of the definitions of those

in the description box below this video.

But today, since you're a dating expert,

a relationship expert,

I wanted to talk to you about some of the phrasal verbs

and the idioms that we use in English to talk about

love and relationships.

So I want to be able to show my audience

you know, some really common language

and expressions that they can use to talk about love.

Sounds fantastic, I love it!

So the first thing that I thought that I'd introduce is

three phrasal verbs that are really common.

Okay, so that would be 'hang out'

'catch up'

and 'hook up'

So all of these phrasal verbs

can be used to talk about relationships in some way.

I want you to tell me

what's the difference between them,

when would we use them?

Yeah.

So 'hang out',

'catch up'

and 'hook up'

they can mean quite different things.

'hang out'

is a casual request to see you.

So it's a very basic request. I say

"Emma, I want to hang out with you."

That literally just means I'd like to see Emma

and spend some time with you,

spend some time with her.

So that could be a romantic relationship or it could be

just with friends, right?

Yeah.

Yeah and you have to know the context,

like if a man that you meet, say on Tinder,

on a dating app,

says "hang out"

it could - it's likely to be more a relationship context.

Whereas me and Emma are friends,

we're hanging out now!

So 'hang out' can be either

it basically means spend some time together,

let's see each other.

Okay so what about 'catch up'?

'catch up' is generally

saved for people you already know.

So if I don't see Emma for a month,

instead of saying "Let's hang out",

I'd probably say "Let's catch up"

So it's a similar term and it's usually used

with someone that you already knew previously.

The majority of the time

that someone say "Let's catch up"

they're saying

"I want to reconnect with you after a period of time."

Right.

And again, it could be friends

or it could be a relationship.

But friends can also catch up, right?

I can catch up with friends for coffee anytime I like!

Exactly.

And because you already know your friends,

you generally say "catch up" more than "hang out"

Well the other thing is if you haven't

seen someone for a while,

then 'catch up' is a really common phrasal verb as well

that you'd use to say "Did you know, we haven't

seen each other for ages, we should catch up!"

So what about 'hook up'?

So 'hook up' is used in a romantic context.

You wouldn't hook up with your friend.

You wouldn't hook up with your friend

unless you wanted to get romantic with your friend.

Which might get awkward!

So 'hook up' - is often - it can refer to any number of

romantic encounters.

It could be "I hooked up with him at a bar"

which usually means "I kissed him" at a bar.

Yeah usually it means kissing, right?

If your friend says to you "I hooked up with him"

sometimes it can be just kissing,

sometimes it can be more than that.

And also,

'hook up', it doesn't refer to

a relationship that is ongoing. It's like a one-off. Isn't it?

No. That's an important point. Yeah.

It's a casual, so a 'hook up' is a casual term.

Nothing is serious, at least not yet,

in the person's mind describing it.

If I say "I hooked up with someone",

it was a casual one-time encounter,

it's not to say I might not see them again,

in my mind right now, it's casual.

That's quite interesting because a lot of my audience,

you know the concept of like a casual hook up

doesn't exist for them in their cultures,

you know, it's not part of what they do.

So if that's the case for you,

then 'hook up' is probably not really

language that is really relevant.

It's only, you know, quick, informal,

non-serious relationships, right?

Yeah, exactly. Nailed it.

So one other aspect that I want to talk to you about

is the way that we use the verb 'fall'

in expressions about love,

because we say

"fall in love"

and we say

"fall for someone"

What does that sort of mean?

Why are we using that expression?

It's really about - you were saying before we chatted -

it's literally about falling

is where the phrase originally came from.

And it's about losing control of your feelings.

And losing control of things, so if I say

"I fall for you", it means

without my control,

without wanting to,

I'm just falling.

So when you say "fall for someone",

it's generally a bit more casual,

than "falling in love"

Yes.

When you fall for someone,

that could be after a few days,

"I'm really falling for her.

I've been on four dates with her.

I'm really falling for her."

And often used with 'starting' - "starting to fall"

Yeah.

So it's often right at that initial period in a relationship.

"I'm starting to get a lot of feelings."

Yep.

"I'm falling for her. She's amazing."

It's a good thing to be falling for someone or to be

falling in love, it's a really, really positive

way of talking about a relationship.

Yeah exactly and the next "falling in love"

comes along a bit later when things are more serious

and you've really got to know the person,

you form those deep bonds,

say "I'm falling in love with him" or even

"I've fallen in love with him"

Right, so we're changing tense there.

"I fell-" I actually said that wrong!

"I fell in love with him"

"I fell in love with him" in the past, yeah but no,

"I have fallen in love"

That tense, the perfect tense,

is the correct one to use then,

because it's an action that started in the past,

and is still relevant in the present.

If you said "I fell in love with that person",

by using the past tense,

it's sort of suggesting that maybe

it's an action that's finished in the past, so if you're

still in love with that person, then using

the perfect tense is right.

"I have fallen.."

Yeah. "I fell in love"

kind of means I'm not in love anymore.

Yeah or it was something that happened in the past.

Ages ago. Yeah.

Yep.

Good pick-up.

See why you're good at what you do?

Okay so,

once you've fallen in love, things have sort of

got pretty serious, right?

Yes.

So around the time when things start getting serious

in a relationship, we're talking about

engagements and marriages, right?

Yeah.

Expressions like

"pop the question"

so, if you heard someone say

"He popped the question."

You might be thinking 'What question, what's it about?'

What are they talking about, Mark?

So 'popping the question'

is just a common colloquial term

to getting down on one knee,

and asking for a hand in marriage.

So usually it's the man.

And you'll often hear at maybe a family event,

the people will be talking with each other,

and they will say - often to the woman -

"When is he going to pop the question?"

That's it. That's the question.

Or "Oh my god, when did he pop the question?"

Or maybe "How did he pop the question?"

Or "It's about time he popped the question."

Good one. Yeah.

So it's all about asking

basically that person for marriage.

Yep.

Popping the question.

So "the question",

by 'the' is making it

the only important question in the world

"the question" is about marriage.

"Will you marry me?"

Okay and yeah for some reason,

we use the verb 'pop' in that expression,

"to pop the question".

Then we say "Okay, so he's popped the question,

when are you going to tie the knot?"

So "tie the knot" literally means get married.

Walk down the aisle, as it were,

and then you tie the knot and have your wedding.

Do you know,

where that expression came from was because

- It's this thing, right?

Yep, or I thought it was a piece of string

that usually before, you know,

it was gold and it was silver, the string

around the finger symbolised the promise.

Really? Okay I thought that you cross your arms

and they do that thing

where they put that silk

I think that's an extension of it, it's the same kind of idea

so it's about tying some material or some string

to connect two people together.

That's beautiful.

Nice!

Okay so, tying the knot

is lovely. Then hopefully there is a really happy

marriage and relationship forever.

But we know that that's

sometimes not always the case.

Of course.

So,

in relationships, in romantic relationships with people,

we often

not we often, but we sometimes

you know, change our ideas or our dreams

that we have for our future together

and maybe we want different things.

And when that happens, usually we "drift apart". Okay.

We sort of - we're not as close as we used to be.

Right? Have you ever had that happen to you before?

Have you drifted apart from someone?

Of course, yeah. I've had it with clients,

and I've had it in my own life too.

And

there's a couple of ways this can happen.

Sometimes it's because the feeling, the "falling",

isn't so much there anymore.

Or sometimes it's because the way

you want to take your life is different to the way

the other person wants to take in their life.

And so you literally drift apart because

you know, maybe I want to

have kids.

Travel!

I want to travel.

I want to have kids here in Brisbane.

And my partner wants to travel and

doesn't want to have kids

and slowly but surely, we realise

we have different goals,

and we know that there's

a wedge between us or there's a

we feel separate from each other and we slowly

drift apart with our different goals.

Values, different values.

That's it.

Yeah.

The other thing that might happen in a relationship

is things could get

uncomfortable, maybe

people are frustrated in their jobs,

or they're - and they start taking it out on each other.

And you know, they're often having arguments,

or they're disappointed in each other,

and so one expression that we say is

that a couple is "on the rocks".

Or their relationship "is rocky".

Yeah.

So why do we use the word 'rock'?

Or 'rocky' or 'on the rocks' to talk about relationships?

What's your opinion?

So "on the rocks" originally comes from the ships.

When the ships would go towards

the rocks and they'd say

Bad.

"She's on the rocks" - it's not a good thing.

When a couple is on the rocks,

it means that those challenges - whatever they may be

whether they're not connecting in some way,

whether their values, they drift apart,

it's meaning that one of them, at least, is feeling hurt.

There's arguments happening.

And they're constant.

And this level of arguing means they may soon

break up.

And that's basically when we say a couple

yeah, "drift apart"

is not as aggressive as "on the rocks"

Right.

"drift apart" means they're kind of heading

in different directions

- slowly -

Yeah but they still have a

a good - not a good relationship -

they still respect each other.

They still like each other, they're just drifting apart.

They're going in different directions.

Whereas a couple that's on the rocks,

when that expression is used,

there's usually a lot of resentment

and arguing starting.

So it's problems.

Yeah.

And couples that drift apart

will often end up on the rocks.

Because they start fighting a lot.

They start fighting about their different values and

the fact that they're drifting apart

will obviously make them sensitive

because they could be losing this person.

They're literally drifting apart and that sensitivity

will cause arguments.

So then you know, let's think about when a couple

or two people in a relationship,

they separate and there's always a period

where they have to come to terms with or

you know, get used to the new situation, right?

And often that's not always easy.

So we use "get over" and "to be over someone"

in this situation.

So you know,

for past boyfriends that I've had,

you know, maybe it took a little while for me

to get over him.

To "get over" the relationship which means

sort of recover from the relationship, right?

Exactly, exactly. And I coach a lot of clients through this.

And it's basically about putting

the resentment or the dislike

aside, so moving that, putting that behind you.

And then opening your heart again.

Eventually to a new person.

Right.

So, you've got to take that time

to get over someone

because that means that you can eventually

open your heart to someone new.

Whereas if you don't get over someone,

you can jump to the next relationship very quickly,

and not take the time to process that pain

and really let go of that person

so you can be fully open to the new person.

That pain will still be there in the new relationship.

And would you say, that to get over someone,

usually, that's talking about the process

of becoming okay with that new situation?

To be over someone means that you've already

gone through that process, right? So

if I said "I'm still trying to get over my ex."

That's different to saying "I am over my ex."

which means I've been through the difficult period

and I'm ready for a new relationship now, right?

Exactly, exactly.

You're getting over someone while you're in that period.

"I need to get over this girl.

I need to put that behind me,

get used to the new situation and

put away my disdain for it.

And sometimes this can take a long time.

One of my relationships took me over

over six months to get over.

Sometimes it happens quite quickly.

Depends on the relationship.

But once I say "I'm over her"

then it's like, it's done,

it's in the past.

I'm ready to move on and I've accepted the situation

as it is.

So I think, I mean,

that's all been really fascinating hearing about

these different expressions

and how they're used in relationships.

And I think what I would love to recommend
