गुजराती दाल - Gujarati Dal Recipe In Hindi - How To Make Dal At Home - Toral Rindani - Swaad Anusaar - Duration: 3:01.
Hello, friends. I'm Toral.
Today, the recipe that I share with you is very common in all Gujarati households.
And is also an all time favorite for everyone.
'Gujarati Dal'.
To make Gujarati Toor daal (split pigeon pea), we need 1 cup toor dal.
Which I have soaked for an hour.
And then added 4-5 groundnuts.
Also I have pressure cooked it in a cooker and kept it ready, like this.
Add 1 cup of dal and 3 cups of water and pressure cook it for 3-4 whistles.
First, let's put the stove on.
Then, add half a tsp of oil.
When the oil is hot enough, add mustard seeds.
Then, we add 4-5 curry leaves.
2-3 chopped green chillies.
Let's add 1 finely chopped tomato.
Now, saute the tomato for a while and allow it to soften.
In the meanwhile, let's add our dry ingredients.
1/2 a tsp turmeric powder.
This is a mango pickle powder that we'll add to this.
This is completely optional, if you have it handy, you can add it.
This tastes really good in a sweet dal.
Salt to taste.
Our tomatoes have softened.
Let's add our boiled toor dal to this.
Mix this well.
You can eat this with rice too, if you want to eat it with rice, keep the dal thick.
Now, let's add jaggery to this.
We have to boil the dal until the jaggery melts.
You can see that the dal has come to a boil.
Now, to add a sour taste, let's add some lemon juice.
You can also you use kokum (mango steen) or tamarind pulp instead.
Our dal is ready.
For garnish, let's add some coriander leaves.
Instead of coriander you can also add dry coconut.
That also tastes really nice.
So our Gujarati Toor Dal is ready!

Our hot and tasty Gujarati Dal is absolutely ready.
You can serve this with rice as well as phulka rotis.
Serve this with rice and add a dollop of ghee top add flavor.
