Waching daily Sep 8 2018

where have you all been for the past

month I haven't seen you anywhere oh

wait a minute that was me that was gone

well for the past month I've been on

vacation with Debbie a well needed

vacation so I'm gonna tell you what's in

store on Toms Trains and Things in

September or so check it out I'm Tom

Kvichak and this is Toms Trains and

Things this channel was created to help

other modelers who are in need of

guidance in pursuing their dream of

building a model railroad and I and

Debbie have been on vacation for the

past month it was a well deserved and

much-needed vacation and as you could

see right here I bought a few things

while we were out there in Annapolis I

went to Starr Hobby and in Baltimore I

went to MB Klein and bought a few things

there so check them out

Start Hobby I'll put their link down

here you could buy a lot of things

they've been in business for over 30

years and and MB Klein they've been in

business 100 years or so and since 1913

or something like that so yeah that's

that's over a hundred years yeah so

check out those two hobby shops and if

you would like to see more videos like

this and other videos on Tom's trains

and things go look at the playlist and

subscribe you know why because it's free

it doesn't cost you anything and ding

that Bell because you don't get notified

unless you ding that Bell

I gotta get this sound for ding that Bell

so once you dinged up Bell and I have a

video coming out it'll notify you

whether it's on your laptop whether it's

on your desktop computer whether it's on

your cell phone which I don't have right

here right now but anyway go check that

out another thing I would like you to

check out is Mark Hesh from M&M Rails

we collaborated on something before I

went on vacation so go check out the

video I'll have a link to it there and

I'll show a little bit I'll show his

thumb nail right here check that out he

does a great job on entertaining the

Model Railroader before he shows you how

he's putting his new layout together

we're gonna have some q and a's coming

up because I had some questions while I

was on vacation and I didn't answer them

and I also got a email from Jeff bonza

right before I left and I'll go over

that with you in a video on one of the

QA videos that I wanted to do in this

month so we got a lot of stuff that

we're gonna be working on I got some

stuff from much these this brick right

here each one of these things was only

six bucks I got this at Star hobby and

it looks pretty good and I'll be doing

some walls on that I got two of them

there let me see they're a little bit

over two foot long and six inches high

so we could do a lot of walls with that

and I got a lot of rolling stock mostly

Bachmann stuff I got a lot of hoppers

and I got me a DCCC locomotive an rs3

that I've been looking for for a long

time and I found that at MB Klein for

$59.95

not bad it's not sound but it's DCC so

we're gonna be doing something with that

later on also so check it out check out

mark check out the hobby shops MB Klein

model train stuff

and the links gonna be down below and

star hobby and you can see the little

thingy right there they've been in

business for about thirty years and they

got I'll tell you what I was amazed when

I walked in there and I'll show you a

picture of their front right here but

they had the stuff I mean shelves all

the way let me see eight-foot high

stocked with rolling stock stock with

everything they have everything from n

scale all the way up to G skill and and

they have lion L stuff everywhere LGB

stuff everywhere if you're into the big

stuff go check them out star hobby and

check out mb klein also so that's what

we got coming up in September I'll have

a lot of stuff because oh I forgot to

tell you okay

here we went went to Strasbourg railroad

okay got a little tote bag for nothing

because I spent so much money there

right across the street in this

Pennsylvania Railroad Museum which we

got a lot of stuff there I I put

something on Facebook about it

I found the locomotive that I worked on

when I worked at Minang and out

Monongahela connecting railroad or so

you picture right there okay also down

the street a little bit was the toy

train museum and I have a lot of video

from there a lot of good stuff on on the

shelves there and they had operating

layouts of from n scale all the way up

to G scale behind glass everything's

behind glass but anyway I got some video

of it and a lot of steals from a Debbie

took a lot of steel photographs from

there and I took a lot of videos from

there also we went to Ellicott City I

haven't been there in since I lived in

Maryland okay it is the first railroad

station on the B&O line and in the

freight house there is a model railroad

there NHO Model Railroad that depicts

the 13 miles from Baltimore to Ellicott

City it's really nice and I got video of

it we went a lot of other different

places I that I wanted to see a lot of

things but I you know I didn't get to

see anybody I want to apologize for not

continent contacting anybody but we had

so many things to do we were gone a

month and we just ran out of time we

didn't get to see everything that we

wanted to see but maybe next year next

summer else I'll allocate a little bit

more time to go see a lot a lot more up

in Maryland and in Pennsylvania I know I

wanted to hit some model railroads up

there but I just didn't have the time

when I was up there I mean things just

went by so fast and and we just didn't

get to see everything that we wanted to

see even though that we were gone for a

month but anyway next year I'll get to

see a lot more because I'll allocate a

little bit more time I actually only

wanted to spend too

weeks but we spent a month and I almost

forgot coming up this month on the 15th

Sun Coast Center for five scale modeling

is opening back up for their September

through May third weekend third Saturday

of every month so we're gonna go up

there on the 15th and on to 29th

Suncoast Model Railroad Club is having

an open house and train show so we'll be

going up there on the 29th so that's two

more things that we're going to be doing

that'll probably come towards the end of

the month and maybe the Train Show in

October so look for that also and for

those of you following my Arduino series

you'll notice that I did the eighty tiny

85 the last month I have 80 tiny 84

which has a little bit more inputs and

outputs I still haven't opened it up but

anyway we're going to do that and we're

going to do some more Arduino made easy'

towards the end of the month and in

October so that's a lot of things that

we got coming up for September and

October so we got a lot of projects

coming I got a lot of things here that I

need to mess with on Tom's trains and

things so check it out and we'll see Ya

Sew Your Stash Summer Wrap-Up | Whitney Sews - Duration: 20:38.

hi everyone it is time again for another sew your stash update if you're not

familiar with sew your stash it is a

challenge I started at the beginning of

last year to try to use those fabrics

and sewing supplies that we all have had

hanging out in our sewing spaces for

entirely too long so it's to encourage

us to look first at our stash and see

what we can use from it for new projects

before we go out and buy new fabrics or

new supplies or in my case to stop

buying every single pretty fabric that I

like but have zero plans to use I'm

gonna have a playlist of all of these sew

your stash videos link down below in the

description box so if you want to see

more information about the challenge as

well as my updates you can check them

all out down there last year I did

really great at sew your stash and then

I got a little bit off-track and I

talked about that in my last update

video that you can find in that playlist

so I was trying to remotivate

myself and get back on track with sewing

from my stash so I decided to add one

more goal to my personal list of goals

or the challenge and that is because I

have more than 300 commercial sewing

patterns so I decided to add the goal of

using more of my sewing patterns because

prior to this summer I had only used

about twenty-something of the patterns

and that is not even a drop in the

bucket compared to all 300 I have a ton

of patterns that are either vintage or

vintage reproduction and since I'm

trying to transition my wardrobe in my

style over to more of a vintage inspired

style I thought this would be the

perfect time to make some things for

myself that fit into my new clothing

style as well as be working toward goals

from this challenge so I think I've done

pretty well at this new goal and I'm

going to share everything that I have

made this summer using patterns for my

sash I did want to mention that I don't

have a ton of fabrics in my stash that

are either for clothing or the ones that

I do have that are

clothing type fabrics I don't have a lot

of yardage of them so in several of the

cases I did have to go out and purchase

fabrics a few of the times I purchased

fabric and a pattern so not every

project is a success on the so your

stash scale but I did do a lot of sewing

a lot of things that I'm really happy

with the outcome of and I think overall

I'm working in the right direction for

this goal I also did succeed in using

some fabrics for my stash for mock-ups

for some of these so even though the

finished garment is not necessarily

stashed fabric sometimes the mock-up was

stash and that still counts and anyway

let's get on to talking about the

different projects that I have made I do

already have videos about a lot of these

so I will link down below in the

description box to all of the projects

that I have a separate video about in

case you want more information on it but

the first thing I did this summer was I

made a Jedi costume for myself I have

already made Jedi costumes for the girls

Jeremiah already has a Jedi costume and I

figured it was time to have my own and

we belong to a local group called Jedi

okay see when we dress up in costumes

for different events like movie releases

or for charity events so it's a lot of

fun and I wanted to have my own costume

now so I started off by using simplicity

5840 and this is the pattern that we

could use for Jeremiah's costume and

then I also picked up McCall's seven six

nine six to use for it the pants and the

reason I selected this pattern honestly

is because it has pockets and that ended

up being my favorite part of this

costume so I'm really glad that I went

with this pattern this is a stash

pattern this is a newly added pattern

and

I have been kicking around the idea of

making this costume but I didn't really

know what to use I knew I would have to

buy fabrics for it because I didn't have

anything that was going to work for it

and I was walking through Walmart one

day and I went through the fabric

area and I saw some homespun fabrics

they were beautiful and they were very

affordable they only had a few different

colors and I selected a really dark navy

homespun fabric and I decided that was

what I wanted to use because I thought

it would have a nice light flowy look to

it and then for events that are in the

colder months I can just add like

thermals or whatever underneath so I

selected that Navy fabric then I also

selected a dark grey fabric that has

cross hatching on it for the pants the

tabards the Obi and the dickie so I whipped

that costume up in just a few days and I

absolutely love it I even added hidden

snaps and the Obi and the tabards

and the jacket tunic whatever so that I

could snap the things in place so while

I'm wearing it I'm not having to worry

about this strap falling down or my belt

sliding around or anything I thought so

it's really comfortable to wear and it's

really easy to wear and I'm so happy

with it I think that was one of the big

things that motivated me to do more

garment sewing was because that project

was such a success and I have not sown a

whole lot of wearable things for myself

lately and since that one went so well

it really encouraged me toward this goal

of sewing more patterns for my stash

because that one was such a win and it

wasn't planned but I actually did get

the costume finished in time to wear to

the solo movie premiere event the next

thing I made was a dress for Peyton she

is obsessed with orca whales right now

and we found a fabric at Joanne's that

is an orca whale print and as soon as

she saw it she was in love and she asked

me if I would make something for her so

we had to buy it

I said yes I would make something for

her but I didn't know exactly what I

wanted to make I was thinking a skirt or

a dress I wasn't sure and I knew I

wanted the shape of the dress when I

finally decided on a dress I wanted the

shape of it to somehow reflect orca

whales not just in the print but in the

designers as well so then I was looking

through my sash and I saw this pattern

McCall's 6310 and the shape right here

where the yoke joins the bodice really

resembles a whale tail like as soon as I

saw that I was like wow that that makes

me think of a whale tail I know that's a

silly thought to have but it I did and

so I used this pattern to make the dress

for Peyton this is a stash pattern and

unfortunately I only have it in one size

size 4 which is about a size too big but

that's okay because Peyton will be able

to wear the dress or quite some time and

it turned out beautifully and I loved it

I did use some interfacing and some

other fabrics from my stash to go along

with the orca fabric that we purchased I

do have a step-by-step tutorial for this

pattern that's down below in the

description box and Peyton loves her

dress so much she asked to wear it like

all the time and I am so so thrilled

with it next up is simplicity 86 54 I

used this pattern along with the fabric

that I got in last October's sew Hayley

Jane box to make the flowy shorts it

turned out well I did a whole separate

pattern review on this one where I

talked about my thoughts on it what I

would change and all that stuff so

definitely go check that out

but I'm happy with it overall and I

think it was a really fun project

because this is a style I've never sewn

before and it is also the fabric I used

is one that I haven't really worked with

before so it was a really great learning

experience as well as using fabric and

pattern

from my stash the next pattern that I

ended up using was simplicity eight four

four six I well I sort of used it

I made a bb-8 skirt that is a poodle

skirt inspired project but instead of a

poodle its bb-8 and it's a full circle

skirt with the shaped waistband from

this pattern the waistband piece is

actually the only thing I ended up using

from this pattern but it still counts um

but as for this pattern on a hole I

wouldn't recommend it I don't like how

things are sewn I don't like how the

pockets are done I don't like the

placement of them I don't like how the

zipper is inserted but I did use this I

do recommend this pattern only for the

waistband piece and that's what I used

still counts I used grey curtains from

my stash that a friend had given me to

make both a mock-up of the skirt and the

final skirt so two large curtains got

used for my stash for one project then I

made my Rose dress from Butterick 1694

and this was a rare occasion that I

bought the fabric and the pattern at the

same time I was at a fabric store that

was going out of business

and I saw this rose print fabric and I

fell in love with it and I knew that I

needed to make a fairly fitted kind of

like 50s 60s pinup kind of inspired

dress and so I immediately went over to

the pattern cabinets and went hunting

through the books and the patterns and

everything until I found this pattern I

of course love big skirted dresses but I

knew for this fabric a big skirt was not

going to work it needed to be the

slimmer fitted skirt and I am so happy I

picked this pattern

and I just I really enjoyed this project

it was one though that I was kind of

afraid to cut into the fabric because I

bought every bit of it there was and the

storm is closing so there was zero

chance of getting any more fabric if I

messed up and there were things about

this pattern that I was really not sure

about i wasn't sure on the fit and a few

of the steps because there is an

invisible zipper that i've never done

before there's the contrast area and the

back that flips over and just things

that i wanted to make sure that i got

them done right so I did make a mock-up

for this one I used some curtains I had

been given a while back that were

stashed fabric so that was a really good

learning experience because it gave me

the chance to get comfortable with the

pattern before I cut into the super nice

fabric that I did not want to mess up

and I'm really happy with how the

overall dress turned out and I am very

glad that I did the mock up and I have

videos on both versions of the dress on

my channel then last step is simplicity

eight four four seven and this is a

pattern that I see myself using quite a

bit I've already used it one time to

make the trousers I want to make the

dungarees view but I didn't have enough

fabric yet so I decided to go ahead and

make the trousers as a practice run and

to make sure that the hip and West

measurements were going to work for me

so I used this awful fabric from my

stash I bought it a few years ago at the

thrift store for like $2 or 2.50 and at

the time I was like this is the ugliest

fabric in the world it's an orange II

brown color it is awful but it was so

cheap it was like six yards of fabric

for just a couple bucks so I had to get

it and I thought well if anything I'll

use it for practicing stuff or for

lining something or you know anything

like that were it wouldn't

show so I thought why not use it to make

pair of pants if they don't work out

whatever I'll throw it out if it does

work out maybe I could pair it with the

right thing and make it look okay and it

turns out that ugly orange-y brown fabric

doesn't look half bad as a pair of pants

so I made the trousers already

eventually I would get around to making

the dungarees and I since making the

trousers have drafted my own version of

this pattern because I want to make a

pair of 1940s inspired jeans and it

doesn't look like it on the pattern but

these these pants fit really loosen the

legs like really loose because they are

meant to be worked in and you need a lot

of movement room and everything so I

have drafted my own version of the

pattern that is a little more fitted in

the legs to be 1940s inspired jeans then

I made a version from my own pattern

using a thin gray corduroy fabric that I

had in my stash I got it years and years

ago for like five dollars and I didn't

realize until I unrolled it to use it to

make my practice pair of pants that it

had slashes in it and each time you went

around the roll the slash got bigger so

it's just started out as a little slash

and by the end of it it's like this long

so it's really a good thing I decided to

use it to make a mock-up because I don't

think it really would have been usable

for other kinds of projects so I made

the practice pair of the jeans using

that gray corduroy fabric and then I

wanted to make something else so I found

a pair of denim in my stash that I've

had for a while and it wasn't enough for

pants but I realized it was enough for

shorts so I did make a pair of denim

shorts using my drafted pattern and that

bit of denim they turned out absolutely

awesome and I love wearing these

shorts so much I'm so glad that I

thought of making shorts from my jeans

pattern I'm really looking forward to

getting some more denim so that I can

make the 1940s jeans that I'm wanting to

make that will look pretty similar to

the shorts that I've already finished

but instead of the red top stitching I'm

going to be doing the traditional gold

top stitching that most jeans have now I

did want to talk about my pattern fail I

did have one fail and it was really

recently so I didn't want you to think

that everything I make turns out

fabulous and I am this super awesome

sower because sometimes I have complete

flops and I usually just don't show that

one of the flops was the original

version of the bb8 skirt it was a

horrible fail that's why it turned into

a mock up because it was not wearable

the other fail is simplicity two three

one one this is a 1940's vintage pattern

and I was trying to make view three

which should have been a very simple

project I didn't read the instructions

before I started and then I read the

instructions and saw that it was

supposed to have bound buttonholes which

I have never done in my life so I was

just going to do um sewn buttonholes and

that was going to be fine and the other

thing is that this pattern is one size

too small well sort of it's one size

smaller than my bust size it is two

sizes smaller than my waist size um I

measured the pattern pieces and I

thought it was going to be plenty large

enough but apparently my math was off

and even though I left out two of the

darts which gave me an extra inch of

space in the waist it still was not big

enough

yeah it was much smaller than I thought

it would be I had tried to do French

seams on it because I was using a thin

fabric here's here's the fabric it is

semi-transparent and so I was doing

French seams to finish off the seam

allowances nicely so it wouldn't fray

but I didn't want to do surging because

surging might show I didn't want to do

bias binding because of my show but the

way the sleeves are they are just

attached to the top so everything got

super bulky right here with a French

seam was then the fact that the waist

was too small I tried to let out to more

of the darts but it was going to wreck

the fabric and then the facing for the

neckline was too small as well so even

though it should have fit the opening I

don't know what happened there but it

was just everything was just not working

out so I finally just gave up on it

because I had plans I'd started on a

Friday I was going to vlog the process

and everything and make it in like one

day and wear it on Sunday but it just

wasn't working out but I was determined

to sew something that day I abandoned

the polka dot shirt project and that's

when the idea popped in my head to make

the denim shorts and I started in and I

made the shorts in five hours and yeah

so it turned out to be a huge success

because I did make a garment that I

really loved but it wasn't the one that

I started so technically I used more

stash but it kind of just went to waste

but thankfully I only paid a dollar for

this fabric at the thrift store a few

years ago so I'm gonna see if I can

salvage parts of it for something else

if not it wasn't too big of a waste you

know you win some you lose some

so that is all of the patterns that I

can think of that I used this

summer I feel like I really succeeded at

the noot goal that I added to my so your

sash challenge really happy with

everything I cannot wait to make more of

my patterns I'm hoping to make some

1940s inspired shirts probably not from

this pattern and but I do have some

reproduction patterns such as this one

that I'm hoping to use I want to use view C

down here so hopefully that's coming

up and I have a couple other ones that

I'm wanting to do so lots and lots of

fun garment sewing and yeah I've

obviously sewn some other things for my

stash and everything because you see

tutorials and stuff all the time on here

but those are the notable projects that

work toward my new goal and the

challenge so like I said earlier I do

have all of these sew your stash videos

in a playlist I will link it right over

here to the side and then below that is

my wrap-up for last year's challenge and

until next time happy sewing

What Is The Best YouTube Vlogging Camera - Duration: 10:14.

So Nate, tell us what is the best camera

for vlogging? Yeah, we've actually got a

few options and I will show you what is

the best. And hopefully this will help

you decide what's the best one for you.

Alright. Hey, it's Scott Christopher

once again here with Nate

"Be the hero", Nate. Wow, no shirt. I mean

you're wearing a shirt. I'm wearing a

shirt. You're not wearing "The shirt." I've

talked with wardrobe

consultant. Your wife?

I've actually hired one higher than

image consultant. Because... Nice. Anyway.

That's good. Things are... Things are rolling.

So, this is simple t-shirt here. I don't have

"Be the Hero" on me. Now, today we're talking

about equipment. -- Hardware. And before we

even get into the question, we should

tell you that we're shooting on, right

now, on a Canon 80-D and was this

the first camera that you purchased? So,

this is the first one. This is the this

is the 70-D. Okay. And then the upgraded

version is the one that we're filming on

right there. Right. And all of the two,

you prefer that one? Or they just for

different things? They're

identical cameras. This one's just a

little bit newer. And so, the feature of

auto-focus is slightly better. This one

still works fantastic. But that one can

film at 60 frames per second. That's

really the only main feature difference.

I almost got a second one of these

because I liked it so much. But I thought

"Oh, the 80-D is only a couple hundred

dollars more." And because I needed a

second camera. So, I just got the upgrade.

I'm glad you said something about the

auto-focus because I have a 60-d. Mm-hmm.

And I have trouble with the auto-focus.

The 70-d is the first camera that came

out that had an autofocus feature which

for videos pretty important. Because

if you're moving around, the

distance is changing. Especially if you've

got a high quality lens where it blurs

the background. It's got to stay and

focus on your face. And so... I mean, watch

this. I get close and it stays focused on

my face. See, how Scott... I'm Blurred. Hi,

it's very... It does that, that

automatically. Artsy-fartsy. So, we're talking

about vlogging, right? And this was

the typical camera that Casey

Neistat used for a long time. On the

camera that you're not seeing, there's a

shotgun mic on top. So, it's attached here.

It's a mic that points forward. And then

Casey would have his Gorillapod that he

could hold it and vlog. Now, if I turn

this on. Having a flip screen like

this where you can actually

you see yourself. That's a big deal.Crisp.

So, to vlog and to really... Because you're

taking a lot of selfie shots. But you

know, you got to this... The 70-d the 80-TD,

great, great cameras because it's got the

auto-focus and it's got a flip screen. I

really want to talk a lot about

features. And I've got another camera

here that I'm going to introduce. This

is my new vlogging camera and I'll

explain why. But...

Instead of saying, "Hey, you need

to get this specific camera." Because

maybe you want to go with Nikon. Or maybe

you want to go with Sony or some

other brand. The features that you want,

you definitely want a flip screen. You've

got to be able to see yourself and you

definitely want a good auto-focus. And

then depending on done other things

where they're like... This doesn't have any

way to attach a mic, this one here. And so,

it might be, you know, if you're going to use

a shotgun mic all the time. You can't

have one on this. So, that's... Now,

are you just categorically... I'm sorry to

cut you. Are you just categorically

omitting from vlogging, you know, the

smartphones and the all those by virtue

of the fact that they simply don't have

depth of field. They don't have the good

lenses. It's just not even in the

conversation. I mean unless that's all

you have, go for it. But I mean,

because this, for a lot of people as

you know, to get a gorilla thing like you

were saying and all of that. I mean,

that's a hefty and almost like

a professional feeling camera where some

people might be kind of new timers going,

"I don't know how to pull focus." Of

course the auto-focus. But I mean are the

aperture settings or f-stops or whatever

I, you know, I mean, I don't know how much

that plays into it but I'm curious. So, if

you're getting started, you know, I do

recommend starting with your phone. And

the one challenge is unless you have the

the newer version of the iPhone. This if

I film in selfie mode where I can see

myself, it's not in 1080p HD. No it is not.

it's a it's a lower resolution. Unless you have the 10. I think I the 10

might have. I think the 10 does. The iPhone 10 has it. That's it. But

I would recommend even then, filming the

720 HD. The lower level of HD. And film

and selfie mode and just get the ball

rolling. Like see what it's like going on

the ropes. And then upgrade when you're

ready to for a specific reason.

And it's just that look. The look. The

overall end product with an SLR or DSLR

camera is just far superior. Yeah. Because

that the topic of this video, we wanted

to say, "What's the best?" Okay. And so,

that's why I'm like... Well, this is a good

place to start. But this is really good.

Got you. This is really good. This is what, you

know, a lot of them, a lot of the top

vloggers will use as a set up just like

this. Okay. It might not be the exact, you

know, Canon camera. Right. A lot of them.

And this was kind of a staple for a

while then the 80-D came out. So, now I

want to switch gears and kind of talk

about why I switched over to this one

just for vlogging. This is a

point-and-shoot. It's obviously really

teeny. And it's got a little adapter that

I have security the bottom. Just so it

and hook on a tripod or my gorilla pod

or whatnot. But first of all it's got a

really good zoom lens. Right now, it's...

By the way it does have a flip

screen which is critical. So, it's real

critical but right now it's filming at a

24 millimeter. So, it's a real wide-angle.

And I can zoom all the way in. You can

see that to 200. So, when I'm out and about.

In fact, I'm just thinking of a video when my

family went to Bear World. It's kind of a

little park off the freeway in Rexburg,

Idaho. And you get to

drive around and there's hundreds of

bears. And so, they come up,

you can't stop your car. You have to just

keep moving or they'll climb on top of

your car. You can't roll down your

windows. But I was, you know, I was using

this and I could zoom in for bears that

were in the distance, we're playing

around, swimming in the water or I could

zoom back out, you know, when I wanted. And

this is not a digital pixelized

zoom like you get from something like

an iPhone. Correct. This is a real optical zoom.

Optical zoom. They have something with

that huge of a range. From 24 millimeter

which is quite wide. This camera

right now, we're filming 24 millimeters.

Now, it's a good wide shot. But it can yet

zoom all the way in the distance to 200.

So, it's got a great zoom and with that,

it's got an f-stop of 2.8 which, that's a

technical term. You might not know what

I'm talking about there. I'm talking

about the aperture where you can blur

the background, okay? This isn't as high

end of a lens as that. But for a

point-and-shoot with that bigger range,

it's

really good. Right. It's really, really

good. For a vlogger to be hefting that around... I

say heft. Its way of an overstatement

because it's... I mean, I know you have this

little foot on it here. But I mean, it's

not terribly light but

compared to... I hook this to my Gorillapod

and my arm doesn't get tired. You

know, I'm just.... It's out there in

front of me and I can Vlog and

turn it around and I don't know why we

film so much in our car. I guess I'm

thinking of my wife and I when we're

driving somewhere. it's like,

we're at Arches National Park and it's

like we want to get scenery on the way

to the last place that we're going to.

And so, I'll be you know, I'll be driving

and I'll be like, "Oh, I got to get the

camera and hand it to my wife and show

her how to use and what to push." And

whatnot. And a big DSLR camera on the

gorrilla pod and with the big mic

on it, it's like... It's a little

intimidating. This is actually pretty nice. You

notice to be able to say, "Hey, here." You

know? And I've got a little pouch that I

can actually hook it in my... Stick it to

my belt if I want to. But it's got the

flip screen. The audio quality, it's

pretty good. I'm actually... I was

concerned about the audio quality not

having a nice shotgun mic on top but

when I'm talking to it, it actually

turned out just great. So I am not... That's

cool. I'm not going to complain. If there's wind

or something, I'm going to use the lapel mic

with a with a little, you know, some of

that dead cat fur, just the name. Right. Or

whatever, windscreen just to protect from

the wind for better quality. In fact, I

did that with... I was mountain biking, not

with this camera. Another tangent.

But I was mountain biking and I had a

big thing here and a guy on a horse says

"You got a mouse on you're..." Just a

little side distraction." Non-bikers, they

don't know anything.

So, you're saying does this have, you know,

the plug-in to do external mics? It doesn't. It

doesn't do external mics. So, that

would be when I use my H1N and to... Yeah,

yeah. So, but this...

I'm loving this, I'm loving this as a

great camera for vlogging because it's

got the versatility of the zoom. It does

have the flip screen, it does have the

auto-focus which is it's a real got

auto-focus for point and shoot. It does

have image stabilization. And I would

imagine in that category, the competitors

also have other offerings or not. I'm

going to bring up one downside.

This is a pricey camera for a

point-and-shoot. 1,200 bucks.

So, you probably didn't expect that price

range for this camera but it has a lot

packed into it. So, but if you want to

know what's the best vlogging camera,

that's why we're showing you this one

today. Well, there you go.

And compared to the 2 SLR cameras

you have, you're still saving with the

lenses they have. That's probably $1,000

less. Well, yeah. Because you have to

buy the body and then the the multiple

lenses the microphone and its yeah... And

their batteries and you know, batteries

for this or about half the price as the

batteries for that. There you have it.

Hopefully you found this episode helpful.

And I had fun and it helped. It's

motivating me to make more money, so I

can afford to buy better cameras. Because you want to

vlog? No, I don't vlog. See you tomorrow.
