- Hey everyone, it's Jessica,
and I'm the BookTuber behind Peacelovebooks,
and today I'm here to share
with you my favorite literary couples.
Now, it's February, which means that it's Valentines Day.
I feel like February is the month of love,
and so as a romance reader,
I have a lot of favorite couples.
I narrowed it down to six couples
that I absolutely love that I think
you should spend some time with this romantic month.
The first couple I have for you are Maggie
and Griffin from Falling for the Wrong Brother
by Michelle Major, and in this one,
it actually starts out with Maggie going
to marry Trevor, who is Griffin's brother.
Now I love a good antsy forbidden romance,
and this one, while it is a very sweet romance,
it's really short, it's a little over 200 pages.
I did read it in an entire day.
I loved how Maggie did not want
to give in to liking Griffin.
So the books starts out with Maggie running out
on her wedding, and Griffin saving her and taking her away.
And of course Maggie does not wanna give in to any feelings
for Grif, and Griffin is a very damaged kind of character.
He has a lot going on with him,
and he has a lot going on with his family, and Maggie
and Griffin's families are actually kind
of like Arch enemies in the town, like they both founded
the town, and there was drama was about who the town
was named after, and there's been drama ever since.
It's a really good antsy romance,
and you're really rooting for the characters.
This is a first book in a trilogy though,
so be prepared to not be that satisfied
with the ending and having to continue
on with the rest of the series.
Another literary couple I absolutely love
are Lucy and Josh from The Hating Game by Sally Throne.
I think this is a beloved book in the romance community
and the book community in general.
This is a hate-to-love romance,
so you see Lucy and Josh really butting heads
and challenging each other,
while slowly falling for each other
and feeling very uncomfortable
with the fact that they're starting to like each other
when they are so used to hating each other.
Lucy and Josh actually work at a publishing company
for two different bosses.
Their different companies had merged,
so their bosses have to work together now,
and they have to work side-by-side,
right at desk next to each other.
It's an office romance, hate-to-love.
It's so fun, so adorable, and you absolutely love
their characters and how quirky and fun they are,
and I just could not get enough of this couple.
The next literary couple I have for you comes
from a romantic suspense, and that
is Colin and Emma from Imposter's Lure by Carla Neggers.
This book is about a couple
who actually solves crimes together.
And now this is I think book eight of the series.
And in this one, there is a huge mystery
going around about someone who goes missing.
It's very complex, so I'm not gonna try to explain
it to you, but Colin and Emma kind of dive headfirst
into trying to figure out what happened,
and trying to figure out this mystery.
And I love how their characters are newly married.
They have that glow about them,
and you get to learn a little bit about their past.
I will say I definitely had to get used
to all the characters, because this is book eight,
so if you really like this couple,
go back to the beginning
because Emma actually was in convent when they met,
which I find very intriguing,
and so she obviously leaves being a nun
to go marry Colin, and so I definitely wanna see them
in the beginning of the series,
but if you like a good mystery
with a couple solving the crime,
you should definitely check out this book.
The next literary couples comes from one
of my absolute favorite books of all time,
and that is It Ends with Us by Colleen Hoover.
Now the couple I love is not actually
the main couple in this book.
I can't explain much without spoiling the whole premise,
but my favorite couple is actually Lily and Atlas.
And we get their romance from Lily's past,
and so she's currently in a relationship
with someone else, and then she we get flashbacks
to when she was falling in love with Atlas.
He was homeless at the time, and she was in high school.
And so, I can't say anything else,
I just will say that this is the most amazing romance.
It's the most emotional heartfelt romance I've ever read,
and it has one of my absolute favorite couples
that were not even the star attraction of the book.
It left such a mark on me that I loved them,
and so that's all I can say without ruining this book,
but I definitely loved Lily and Atlas.
And I actually named my dog Lily after Lily from this book.
My next favorite couples comes from a book
I read at the end of last year and fell head over heels for,
and that is Etienne and Serene from The Surviving Trace.
This is actually book two, but the couple
is still in this book.
This is the only book I own a paperback
and I just want to show off the gorgeous cover of this book.
And it's actually a time traveling romance,
so Etienne is from the early 1900's,
around when the Titanic sank, and Serene
is from today's world and gets thrown back in time,
just after finding a portrait
of a man she was really drawn to.
She had a dram about the man before finding the portrait,
so she had the dream, she works in an antique shop,
found the portrait, and realized
that was the man she dreamed about.
Then she stormed back in time and finds that man,
and he's such a broody, angry mean guy,
and they end up falling in love,
but she is currently engaged in the present,
so kind of think like an Outlander kind of storyline.
Definitelys completely different timelines though
than Outlander, but she's someone who's
in a relationship in the present and then goes back
in the past and kind of falls in love with someone else.
So the book had a huge cliffhanger,
but they're like star-cross lovers destined to be together,
but everything's pulling them apart.
Amazing, amazing romance, and I am dying
to read book two so I can figure out
what happens to that couple.
And the last favorite literary couple I have for you
are Jared and Tate from the Bully series
by Penelope Douglas.
Bully is their first book together from Tate's perspective,
then she wrote Until You, which is from Jared's perspective,
and then they have a short story slash novella.
I feel like it's about a 100 pages in the Next Flame.
So we get a lot of this couple,
and they are my absolute favorite.
Now I will say Bully starts out with Jared
and Tate having a really rocky relationship.
Jared does bully Tate, and so that's not good.
That's really bad, but we learn a lot about what Jared
was going through in Until You,
and why he was so mean to Tate.
Tate studies abroad for a year before her senior year,
and she comes back and she decides she's
not taking anymore crap from Jared,
stands up to him and puts him in his place,
and tests him and questions him, and pushes him,
and he finally confronts his feelings for her,
and it's their romance, and it's just one
of my original favorite antsy romances.
I am absolutely in love with these characters
and their romance, and we see them all throughout
all the books in the series, and they're just,
I just can't get enough of them, and I want more of them,
and I want more of this world,
and if you love a good antsy romance
where it's really hard-built in their relationship,
but it's all worth it in the end,
you definitely have to read Bully.
And though they're my favorite literary couples
from some of my favorite books, and if you notice
I do love myself an antsy romance where the couples
go through a bit of a trial before they get together.
It's so worth it in the end, and so I think
that makes the romance that much more worth it.
So those are my favorites.
I think you should definitely snuggle
up with during the romantic month of February.
