I wanna remind you that today
is the beginning of Black History Month.
It's a time to reflect on historic accomplishments
of African Americans.
Now many of us know the names like Dr Martin Luther King Jr,
Rosa Parks, Malcolm X, Harriet Tubman,
but there are also many other people
with stories that you won't read about
in an elementary school history book.
That's why this month I'm gonna share
stories about African Americans whose names
we should all know.

Today I wanna tell you about Claudette Colvin,
who as a 15 year old girl
created her own place in history.
On March 2nd, 1955, nine months before Rosa Parks
refused to give up her seat,
Claudette was ordered by a bus driver
to move to the back of the bus.
But she stood her ground and refused.
Claudette was arrested and thrown in jail.
When asked why she didn't give up her seat
Claudette said it felt as though
Harriet Tubman's hands were pushing me down on one shoulder
and Sojourner Truth's hands was pushing me down
on the other shoulder.
(applause)
Now, you may wonder why Claudette
didn't get the recognition for her courage.
Well it's been said that several black organizations
at the time felt Rosa Parks made a better icon
for the movement than a teenager.
But today we're giving Claudette Colvin
the recognition she deserves for her role
in the fight to end segregation.
To Claudette we say thank you.

As an ambassador for Laureus it's such a special responsibility.
I'm so proud and honoured, that I'm able to live my passion
by sharing my passion with the youth through Laureus Sport for Good.
I had a very challenging childhood.
The worst part of it: We were walking barefoot around the United States with a blanket and a robe.
We literally had to go behind the big supermarkets and open up the giant trash cans to find food.
We had what we needed, but we didn't have things that we wanted.
And then we found a surfboard.
I went into the ocean, caught my first wave and it was like heaven.
Nothing else mattered.
It didn't matter if we didn't have all the food we needed.
Didn't matter if we didn't have a nice house, it didn't matter if I didn't have any friends.
I had the ocean. It instantly became my passion and my love, my everything!
One person that really left an impression on me, he was the best surfer at the time,
his name was Sean Thompson.
He quickly became my favourite surfer in the world.
He came to our local beach, Hollywood Beach, and he gave us shorts, surf shorts, and he gave us stickers.
And I, to this day, remember this so clearly.
He was the coolest guy in the world, the nicest guy in the world.
And all it took was just giving me a little gift and sharing a few words, and I was just in love with this guy.
Sport changed my life, sport gave me everything, I'm living my passion, following my dreams and working to inspire the youth.
The best way for me to change the game for the youth – I'd like to bring them to the beach and share with them my story, where I've started.
We have to respect the environment, because without the environment we do not exist.
The person who inspires me more than anything is my 4-year-old son.
His mission in life is to clean the earth.
Ever since I've heard about the EQC, it's all I wanted to be in.
I'm so happy and proud that we are now going to be driving electric cars, eco-friendly cars.
I'm working on changing the game for the future generations.
We have to be stewards of mother earth, stewards of the nature.

sharing our music along the process

I started playing around with this sound from the Logic software library
which sounds like this
a touch of attack and vibrato.
So we start with this:

then we jump to the chorus with a previous idea...

Arranging the song,
I had this guitar part:
but I didn't feel playing the notes on the guitar
so we played them on the keyboard, with 3 different sounds.
Without anyone noticing
A snake found his way inside the studio...
Kuala Lumpur was built within the jungle
with wild animals just around the corner...
a deadly corner, sometimes.
But luckily, this intruder has been escorted out of the studio.
It's about a guy...
It's a guy who means well...
but he's not sure how to approach a lady.

He has to EARN her, it's going to be a Musical, by the way!
In the meantime, our friends have no idea water is about to unleash from the ceiling.
