Hey guys

Gummy bear queen here in today's video. I'm doing my top 5 favorite clothing patterns

I recently did my favorite clothing brands and favorite clothing stores this week. I'm doing patterns

before I get into my top 5 I would like to go through my honorable mention which is polka dots I

Have this top here that is pink with grey polka dots and neon pink

Detailing at the top and

You can actually reverse this. So it's grey with pink polka dots

But overall I don't like the feel of this top

I don't like the color of this top, and I'm not keeping that top

I've been holding on to it for a long time and I'm glad I did

Just so I could show it on camera for you guys. I

Do also have this top which?

Actually has hearts on it not polka dots

But I love this top. I

Adore this top. It's cute. The bottom is very cut. Very poorly somebody obviously

Decided to do a DIY with it

I did have one other polka dot top I no longer have it was white with

Purple and pink polka dots it was really cute had lace trim. I loved it. No longer have it which sucks

But I wish I had more polka dot patterns. I know it's not in

Trend anymore. But if I went thrifting I could get lucky. So now that we've gone to my honorable mention

Let's get into my top 5

So I'm not doing these in any particular order just that these are my top 5 based on all the other patterns out there

So number one is lace. I have this cute

Lace almost like a corset like top you fastened it at the front with these little hooks

It takes a long time to put on but it's gorgeous. Once it's on it compliments My shape is it beautiful

The color is stunning

The only annoying part is all these

little

Strands or threads hanging down from the top which I find annoying and I also don't like the fact that that top

attaches to all the other tops, especially the lace ones

Next is this

Like a cover-up you can use it over a tank top over a dress over a bathing suit

It's just this black lace camisole with a racerback

It is so cute. You could literally throw that on anything when you're lazy or

Even in the bedroom if you just want to wear lace

Which is also really sexy

Next item is this

Dark, blue. I

Hope I can edit it. So it doesn't look black

this dark blue

3/4 length sleeve dress and is so cute

The shape is a lot more feminine than I'm used to but I love the dress

Alright

Next one is this

Very feminine lace, white dress strapless

Which I usually don't go for but it's gorgeous

It has the crinoline on the bottom, which I usually hate but luckily there are multiple layers

under the dress

Alright next item is this (inside-out)

Cropped cover-up. It is white. It is cute

I actually used to wear this over a bandeau when I hit the club

It was such a throwback the material though isn't exactly soft and it doesn't

Feel that good. I

Think I've just been over wearing it I guess and for the last lace item is this black?

It's just really sexy really good for date night

It's usually not the most comfortable fabric

But it is a very flattering and cute fabric

I think more people should wear floral I even think men should wear more floral

it is stunning to see men wearing floral t-shirts and

Speaking of floral t-shirts I have this cropped floral t-shirt

with a cute knot in the back

This would be really cute with a solid color

High-waisted skirt or even if you want to just throw on some shorts or a cute skirt. That's like

Would make the outfit very feminine. I

Don't own enough floral to be honest. I

people usually go for vertical stripes as it gives the illusion of slimming I go the other way because I need the other way and

How to Sew with Rickrack - Duration: 2:38.

RickRack is a braided trim which has been around for a long time.

This retro embellishment is often seen as kitschy but there's actually a lot of cool

ways to use it in your projects and I'll show you how.

You can purchase rick rack from your local fabric store either in pre-cut packages or

by the yard in a variety of colors and different widths.

The most basic way to use rick rack is to lay it on top of your fabric…

...and then sew a straight stitch directly down the center.

The ends of the rick rack can start to look frayed so if it's not going into a seam

or hem, you might want to apply fabric sealant to the edges to keep it looking nicer for

longer.

You can take two cuts of rick rack and braid them together into a single strand.

Please note that the braid may start to twist a little so you may want to press after you

finish.

After it's braided, do a basting stitch down the center to hold the braid together.

Then you can lay it on your fabric and do a zig zag stitch down the center of the braid.

This gives you a fun looking trim and you can do it with two different colors.

Rick Rack can also be added to your hemline.

First, I line up the rick rack on the right side of the fabric on the edge.

Sew a straight stitch down the center of the rick rack.

Then turn the rick rack over so that half of the rick rack goes to the wrong side of

the fabric and you only have half the rick rack peeking out.

Now you can sew either a straight stitch along the bottom edge of the fabric or do a decorative

stitch.

You can use this same idea with another trim or strip of fabric.

I did it with a wide ribbon.

On either side of the ribbon, I sew on the rick rack with a straight stitch, just like

I did with the hem.

Then flip the rick rack out.

I can then place it on my fabric and stitch on each edge of the ribbon using a straight

stitch or a decorative stitch.

In this case I used a rampart stitch.

This cool trim can also be used for a neat faggoting look.

To prep, fold the edge of your fabric to the wrong side and press.

I'll use something like a blind hem or shell hem stitch on my machine.

I'll then butt the rick rack right next to my folded fabric and stitch.

This alone can be a hemmed edge….

...or have a folded edge of another piece of fabric on the other side for a different

look.

Just because rick rack may seem old fashion, doesn't mean it still can't produce some

unique looks for both your projects and your costumes.
