We continue to work on our orchid. Today we will deal with leaves and final assembly
Ideally, use 2 mm craft foam or 2 mm Eva foam for leaves
We will need: 1) 2 mm eva foam; 2) oil pastels; 3) zephyr eva foam; 4) wire; 5) acrylic lacquer; 6) a soldering iron and rosin; 7) polystyrene; 8) tape tape
I will use the template 2 - bigger and smaller leaves
Circle with a toothpick
Do not try to make the leaves symmetrical
We will need 4-6 leaves
You can cut 2 leaves at once
Take oil pastels
I took different shades of brown, dark green, light green and gray
Drawing the center
You can draw with a ruler
From edge to edge draw stripes
All stripes must meet at the top.
Take a shade more darkly. Between the drawn stripes draw more stripes
Edges can be darkened a little stronger.
Add a light shade
A little brown
Do not overdo it
Bottom tinted in dark brown
Take a piece of foam rubber and pound
Here's what it should turn out to be
Similarly, decorate the reverse side of the leaf
Take a piece of zephyr eva foam
Thin out
Glue wire
Tint a bit
Under the color of the leaf
And paste from the wrong side. I will glue on Cosmofen
Now you need to cover the leaves with acrylic varnish

While the leaves are dry, let's do a sprig

Well, this cuffing season is off to an impressive start, isn't it? Especially for those of us who are still unfortunately
attracted to men.
Over the past couple of weeks
I've noticed that I'm becoming more cold and distant and cynical about so many things, take your pick
but I am determined to set an anchor that will tether me to our ability to overcome the nonsense. And that
anchor my friend is love.
So with this edition of 'Books and Chill' I'd like to recommend three books that will stoke the flames of your
Relationships and inspire some connections that will hopefully keep us all believing in the power of love
First up is the debut novel from Tommy Orange. And that is 'There There'. It's a great buddy read for the folks out there
who are just testing the waters with a potential bae. If there's an attraction or an attempt to keep the
Conversation going with a certain someone, why not suggest There There as a buddy read?
It's the story about a large cast of multi-generational Natives who are getting ready for a big powwow in Oakland, California.
There's a dangerous plan that's in play for the gathering, as well as some family reunions and some characters are just simply trying to
reconnect to their heritage.
But this intricate web of stories and experiences makes for one of the most sensational reads of the year.
The reason I'm recommending this for anyone in the beginning stages of a relationship is because it's a great way to keep the conversations going.
It's so fast-paced and there are so many
Characters that it's the perfect excuse to keep your text messages going and even schedule a date to meet up and talk it over
Strategy.
And if things don't go well with potential bae, you still would have read one of the best books of the year
So it's a win regardless
Next up is 'Meet Behind Mars' by Renee Simms
These wonderful vignettes are some of my favorite stories of the year and when I really think about it
They're great for building intimacy. 'Meet Behind Mars' is a collection of short stories that covers a lot of ground.
From a young family's collision with a cow, to the incident of the mustard penis
There's a great mix of the absurd and the ordinary in this book
It explores the roller coaster ride of life through place, through time, and through these richly crafted characters.
The stories are so quick, but their impact will linger long after you've closed the book. Now
The reason I would recommend this book to couples who are getting serious with each other is because it presents a great opportunity
To really get to know each other
Reading this book together could open up the conversation a lot more to find out about each other's own idiosyncrasies
What led bae to the profession that they're in; what places have they traveled to or lived in that had an impact on their life;
What are their relationships like with their family members with their friends? What are their most lasting memories?
Have they attended their school reunions and are their friends the same, have they changed significantly?
The conversations are endless, but one thing's for sure. You will really give yourself a great start by reading these stories together
Next up I'm going to recommend 'The Master Butchers Singing Club' by Louise Erdrich
Now, I love this novel for so many different reasons
But most of all it's because it's at the top of my list of most recommendable books to any and everyone
It's the story of Fidelis Waldvogel who after World War 1 returns to his German village to marry the wife of his fallen
comrade. These two set sail for America with a briefcase full of sausages and knives and they land in Argus
North Dakota where they open up a butcher shop and get settled in raising their family and running their business
this town is full of the most interesting characters from an eccentric hoarder to
the town drunk and his wonderful daughter, Delphine whom I love
And she is a travelling performer, but she ends up going back to her hometown
To get involved in a life that she couldn't have planned herself
It explores loyalty and family and the persistent purpose of love. Now
the reason I'd recommend this book to all the
Established and seasoned lovers out there is because it's such a warm invitation to simply savor a damn good novel together
This novel is all about spending time with each other. It's about the quiet
passionate moment and the
Silences we can share with our loved ones and the silences you can fill with the voice of your beloved reading you this
novel. Just imagine it, late at night, the sound of your beloved
saying to you, "As
Cyprian turned toward her with the gentle sideways glance, his profile caught her breath" and then you just fall in love with your
Beloved all over again
So these reads are all great no matter what relationships are brewing in your life
