2005-2014 Mustang RedLine Tuning Hood QuickLIFT PLUS System Review & Install - Duration: 6:30.
Hey guys, Adam here with americanmuscle.com.
Today we're taking a quick look at and installing the Redline Tuning QuickLift PLUS Hood Strut
System available for the '05 to '14 Mustang.
Now once you have your hood latch lifted, its really easy to use, they're really stylish,
and they're a great option for the guys out there owning an S197, looking to replace that
in the way and kind of ugly factory hood prop here.
Now you can leave it down here and just tuck it underneath but now with these new hood
struts, there's absolutely no reason to pull that out of place.
As you just saw, I used two fingers to pop this up and it's got a slow progressive release
system.
That means it's coming up very gently and when it reaches the top it slows down even
more until it's fully in its upright position.
Putting it back down again, just as simple.
It's got a slowly gonna go right back down into the latch.
For the pair you can get them for just under 100 bucks, they come with a gloss black finish
and the Redline Tuning logo, vinyled right on the side.
They're extremely easy to remove if you ever want to go back to that factory hood prop
but honestly, in my opinion, there will be no need to do that.
These are super easy to use, they're very stylish, and they're a great and convenient
option to replace that factory hood problem.
Now as far as the installation is concerned one out of three wrenches on our difficulty
meter, it'll take you about 30 to 45 minutes at the most.
Simple hand tools required like a ratchet and a 10-millimeter deep socket.
And I'm gonna show you guys how it gets done, so let's get to it.
To get started with the install, you'll wanna make sure that you're leaving on your factory
hood prop because you have to hold the hood up some way while you're installing your hood
struts and then we can come back to that later on.
Now to kick off installing the actual hood struts themselves, we're gonna start off with
our ball stud retainer and our conical washer.
That's gonna go into the pre-drilled hole on the edge of our hood frame on the inside.
And that hole has been pre-drilled so that you'll slide in that conical washer and twist
this on, tightening it down on both sides.
I'm gonna start on the passenger side but I do wanna point out, if you wanna untwist
this and unthread it about halfway on that stud, leaving some room so that this doesn't
fall into the hood but also giving you enough room to slide it into the hole.
So let me show you what I'm talking about.
All right, starting here on the edge of the hood, you wanna work your way up from that
hood bracket, to the first hole on the edge of the inside of that hood.
With this halfway threaded backwards making sure that this is not going to fall off, you
wanna insert the edging into that pre-drilled hole and latch it on the inside.
Now you'll see you have a lot of play with this since we're on the passenger side, we're
gonna put this as close to the outside of the passenger side as possible.
On the driver's side, we'll do the opposite.
So since we're on this side, we're gonna go ahead and twist this in to tighten it down,
making sure it's on as far to the left as possible toward the passenger side.
Since it's tightened down by hand, we're gonna repeat this for the opposite side then come
back down and tighten them down with our ratchet.
All right, same process here for the driver's side, I've got it threaded halfway off making
sure it won't fall out into the hood.
Blast that in, pull it all the way to the driver's side.
And we're gonna twist this down.
Now when you're twisting it to tighten it you might have to pull against it to put enough
pressure to get it to stop spinning and actually tighten on the threading.
And now that we have it inside, I'm gonna go ahead and tighten this down with our hand.
Grab our 15-millimeter deep socket and tighten this down.
Now we're gonna grab our 0.5-inch deep socket and tighten these down.
All right, right underneath of the stud we just installed, we're gonna put in one of
our fender brackets.
Now we have to remove the fender bolt sitting next to that oval-shaped opening here.
You're gonna use your 10-millimeter socket to get that off, the bracket is gonna sit
right over that hole and you're going to tighten down that factory bolt.
That'll sit right over the top of that threaded hole and you're gonna put that bolt right
back into place.
All right, repeat that same thing for the other side.
All right, we got our 10-millimeter socket, we're gonna remove the bolt on our driver
side fender, put in our new bracket, and tighten the bolt right back down to its factory location.
All right, now we can move on to the next step.
The last steps here now that we have our fender brackets in place, is to set our hood struts
into place so we can get this foot prop out of the way.
So what we're gonna do is put our extended end on the bottom here on our fender.
We've got to snap it into place firmly.
Now there's metal retaining clips in that stud there that you'll have to snap through.
And if you ever wanted to remove them, you just use a flat-head screwdriver to pry up
on that metal clip.
So we're gonna firmly press them into place, it might take a little elbow grease.
Then we're gonna lift up on our hood to line up our top end to snap it into the ball stud
up here, so let's get to it.
All right, now we can do the same thing for the other side.
That's gonna wrap up my review and install of the Redline Tuning QuickLift PLUS Hood

Prepare mung beans on the first day
I use organic mung beans, you can use other mung beans
Soaking water
Some people will use 50-60 degrees Celsius water to soak beans
But if you do a small amount at home, you don't need to do that
However, beans that have been soaked in hot water are particularly prone to reddening, so you must be careful to avoid light.
The mung bean skin starts opening up after a day, we start to sprout
Ordinary steamer, everyone has it at home.
Wet the gauze in advance, it is easier to absorb water in a while
Beans are spread on the top
Wrap it
Or put another cloth, just don't be too thick, because it needs to be breathable
Then watering
Water it in the morning and evening like this in the next 3-4 days.
Doesn't need too much water, and the water in the pot should not be over the beans.
Close the lid
This cover is made of glass, light can come through, so I put on a cloth.
The next day....The it is sprouting already
The third day...
It looks like this on the fourth day
It is done on the fifth day.
Because I took pictures, it exposed to the light
So you see that its color has turned red.
For a while, I will show you the bean sprouts that are completely grow in the dark.
Another setup is similar to the principle of the steamer
But every time you have to dump excess water
If there is no steamer, nor leaking basket.
You can use a big bowl, like this
You need to make sure that the excess water is drained.
this batch was grown in the complete dark
You see it did not turn red.
By now, I guess you can conclude
The three points in growing bean sprouts: moisturizing, breathable and protected from light
Breathing means that the beans should not be soak underwater, and the container should not be too tightly closed.
If you want them grow to the same length, use a flat container
This is the same method in a frying pan
But I put some weight on it on the third day
This way, the bean sprouts will be slightly thicker.
I use organic mung beans, the beans themselves are relatively small.
You can use ordinary mung beans, which will be thicker.
The bean sprouts are ready, we cut some Chinese chives
Open a bottle of oyster sauce and make a side dish
Pot oil
After the oil is hot, add the bean sprouts and stir fry a few times.
Put in the Chinese chives and continue to stir fry
When the bean sprouts are just cooked, turn off the heat
Put a spoonful of oyster sauce
there is salt in the oyster sauce, I will not add more salt
Stir fry evenly
Bean sprouts, Chinese chives, and oyster sauce, just 3 ingredients

Oyster sauce is a savory seasoning

Another Handyman Tool Bites The Dust / WLOG - Duration: 18:05.
Hey good more friends today. I am excited about the job that I'm gonna be doing today
And I'm gonna be taking you along with me
So have you ever had those jobs where it's like you don't do them very often, but then when you do do them
It's like exciting like that's like today. So like last year, we had a really big storm so we did a lot
I did a lot of like fence repair and stuff like that. I haven't really done as much this year
but today I'm going out and I'm doing some I do it rebuilding a little section of a fence a
Really small section of a fence but pretty excited for it
Looking forward to that and then I'm rebuilding a gate as well and then doing a few other knickknacks inside the house. So
first off
like we do every day on this we log got to go to Home Depot pick up the
Pick up the supplies that we need, but let's get to it. Let me show you what I got here at Home Depot
Got a little bit of everything
Kind of more than what I could almost more than what I could push here
But now when you get a loaded up into the trailer
Ok got all my supplies loaded up in my tool trailer here
But old trailer is definitely a little bit heavy heavier than what it usually is
I almost need to get a bigger tool trailer to call on my supplies
Hold me on certain jobs though only on certain jobs every time I go in there and you know order, you know
Get so many so much money worth of worth of supplies. They always offer me that Home Depot get a credit card
I'm curious. Have you ever purchased the the credit card or the or the credit card from Lowe's or Home Depot at all?
I guess they always say that like you could save like 75 bucks if you sign up right now. I don't really know
I've never tried it but I don't know me and credit cards don't really get along. I I personally think that you know credit is
A great way to make money when people owe you money, you know, so I don't really want to get involved in that
but anyways, I'd be interested in what what you
well, you have to say I mean
Have you ever have you ever gotten to a Home Depot credit card and did it save you money?
I mean, that's the biggest thing and what kind of things do they offer man this uh this road, right?
Here is the absolute worst. Let me show you
So it's it's a one-lane road. There's not there's not lanes over there

But people just act like it's like a freeway like it's like three lanes wide like it's so wide. I don't know
I don't even get it. So I don't know maybe people just pass me because I'm slow
But I always stay like right where the lanes supposed to be because there's no like there's no lanes
I don't know what's going on with this road. But this roads been like this for years. So I
Don't know what to do. So the the dynamics of this job are pretty interesting
I guess there's this is a rental home that I'm working at
But the the owner lives somewhere down south and doesn't really ever come up and take a look at property
so he lets the the tenant do all of the all the late work and then he just
lets her she pays with a check and then
Basically, they take they take that payment out of her rent
So pretty much like when I went to do the jaw or do the estimate she was like, yeah
This is pretty much a for-sure job. You know, he he really doesn't care. He just wants to get the work done. So
Pretty excited for this job
I'm just rebuilding a little like it's like 10 feet of fence and then rebuilding a gate which I'm pretty excited about
I really like rebuilding a gate because just I don't I feel like I have a good strategy to do that
so I'm pretty excited about that and
Yeah, and then I got a few other knickknacks inside the house the ceiling fan some window latches
So yeah, it should be a good day
And then we have a doctor's appointment for my daughter a little bit later this afternoon
And then I'm doing a mentorship call for someone who reached out to me from the handyman journey
some somebody who wants to start up a handyman business just he wants to chat and see what I
see what kind of info I can give him and I'm curious to meet him and kind of see what
See what his plans are for his handyman business startup and all that so pretty excited about that. So yeah
Anyways, let's get today's job. Let's do it guys
Okay, so this is the fence here that we are replacing
and it's just

Okay, so it looks like
There was a post here right next to the house. There's a post in the middle
and then this last post look like it was in in this conquered slab here, so
We're gonna get our posts in let those dry up
While we do some other work
What the heck my post hole digger just broke
Okay, my post hole digger broke, but I don't want to go
I want to go to Home Depot right now and get a new one
so I'm just gonna cut this one a little bit shorter and
Drill it in and then I'll have two that are gonna be different sizes
it'll give me through the job today not gonna be optimal for long-term use but I
Don't want to go to Home Depot right now. So we'll get this going
There we go as good as new not necessarily but it'll work
Okay, we got all of our posts laid in there it worked out perfectly what I wanted to do
I wanted to lay that far one first just because that's in the cement so you can't really mess with that location and
Then leave this one here next to the house
And then it worked out perfectly that I had to buy for that
Lodged in here perfectly just so I could get the straightness of it
So I was able to place that one exactly straight with the rest. It doesn't matter this boards. Just sitting here just for
You know just so I can have the straightness but got those three laid
So we're gonna go ahead and work on the gate. Now while these things dry out just
Wanted to talk one quick thing about this mantis
I use this quikrete concrete and
this stuff it adds advertised as you can just
Pour it right in the hole and then pour water in there and it mixes itself
But what I found is when I mix it
externally
So in a pan before I put it in the hole it dries a whole lot quicker
Or sets a whole lot quicker and it is a whole lot stronger than just putting it in the hole
So that's kind of my two cents on this kind of
Well, this is our gate here that we are replacing and you see down here
It's it's seen better days
Even even this post looks like it could probably replace but they just wanted to go ahead and replace this

Okay, I got my gate built got my hinges put on if you guys are interested in how and why I built my gate like

But yeah, I got it already. So let's get it installed and we'll get some pickets on it
Okay note to self and anyone else who's interested it is a whole heck of a lot easier
to attach the hinge to the fence and then attach to the gate rather than attaching the hinge of the gate and then the whole
Thing the fence cuz you got to kind of hold the whole gate up while you attach to defend its crazy
So I don't know word to the wise
One thing I learned about cutting multiple pieces of wood to the same length
I learned this from a actually a framer a little while ago as you lay out all your boards
so they're even and then you just make one mark and then you just put them and
Then you will leave a little indentation as you go

Phone meeting we went to the doctor's appointment. Everything was great with
With my daughter was just a simple checkup. So nothing big the mentorship call went good. I was guy talk to him
He's actually from Greensboro, North Carolina. So I was asking him. I was wondering when I heard when he where his farm
I was wondering if he was affected by the Hurricanes that just happened and
But at the time of recording this video hurricane or a tropical storm or whatever, however, you want to classify
It went through North Carolina there a few days ago, but he said everything was everything was good with him in his area
But he ended up leaving town because he wasn't sure what it was gonna look like but everything was good for him
So it was good talking with him. He started up his handyman business full-time in June
He just had some marketing questions like how to get more business things like that
So I got some great great information and content that I'm going to send over his way. So super excited about that
But anyways, we are getting back to it. So I'm heading back over to that house
to finish up that that 10 feet of fence section put the pickets on there and then
Go to the inside work of the house. So yeah, everything's going great. Good day so far and we're gonna keep on keeping
All right, just about done just need to trim a few on the corner over there and then trim the tops off those

Just this 10 foot section here. Well about 12 feet or so, but looking good
Alright that wraps up our day that was a pretty good job. Let's see I started just some of the logistics of that job
I started at 9:00 this morning
Worked for about three hours until noon and then I went home
You had that mentorship call and then I went to the doctor's appointment for my daughter
And then I came back about 3:00 and it is five o'clock right now. So that is a total of
Five hours. I'm doing my if I'm doing my easy math. All right, so five hours the job total was 855
Parts were somewhere around 200 bucks. So
let's see total was
Profit for that job with 655 if I'm doing my math again
All right. So 655 for five hours worth work. So pretty good
pretty good day's work and
Yeah, everything went smoothly except for my post hole digger breaking in the morning, but you know, no big deal. We got that fixed
I need to buy a new one
But you know, I probably won't for quite a while and just cuz I don't use it very often at least right now
maybe you know if a storm comes through and we got a lot of fence repair picking up then I'll probably get one but
