Waching daily Sep 5 2018

I don't know about you, but I just enjoy making things more when my space is organized.

I always get the itch to optimize around back to school time, just as much now as I did

when I was the student and not the teacher.

So I took on a project to overhaul my small parts drawers and my small workbench tool

organization.

I even ordered a label maker for the occasion.

There's just something so satisfying about streamlining things for my future self.

I don't know if it's just because I get so annoyed when I can't find something I know

have, but I dread that inefficiency, and it takes my head out of my work.

But organizing is also a form of procrastination... a way to avoid a looming deadline, or ruminate

on an idea while executing on something, at least.

I installed a magnetic bar meant for kitchen knives, and moved my wire rack to its own

dedicated wall space.

In organizing this part of my workshop, I found a bunch of stuff I didn't remember that

I had, and got rid of a bunch of trash.

Thank you so much for watching.

Don't forget to subscribe and give this video a thumbs up if you liked it.

See you next time!

🌺PUSEAYZ ART GLASS (Handmade) Aromatherapy Essential Oil Diffuser Review👈 - Duration: 7:57.

welcome back to the channel I have two

new stunning art glass

or with therapy diffusers to show you

today stay tuned to find out more so I

have several aromatherapy diffuser 's

around the house some I use just for the

light the pretty color changing light

some for the mist some for the to add

essential oils and these are just so

lovely that I they wouldn't even have to

be turned on and they're pretty even

when off I'll show you that in a minute

but they're beautiful when they're in

color changing mode and I will also Tim

the lights and show that to you they put

out quite a bit of mist it's 100

milliliters of water so these are glass

diffusers come in three colors this is

the gray and this is called gold powder

but as you can see they're a blend of

colors and they are handmade glass so no

two are alike no two are exactly alike

here on the box you can see the an

example of the third color which I

believe they call green but kind of

looks more yellow to me and it's a the

name of the company and I believe it's

pronounced Puseayz these have seven a

seven color LED light inside let me show

you the controls the first press will

cycle through the colors the second

purse will stay on a particular color

and the third one will turn all the

light pretty standard patrols along the

front bottom of the unit the tank holds

hundred milliliters

water it does have a timer and an auto

shutoff 100 millilitres is a good size

if you want to use it for an essential

or diffuser because of the larger tanks

tend not to admit the essential oil

throughout the cycle so as you add water

you just lift up the glass and then the

plastic piece and there is water in

there now I'll be straightforward okay

so I turn these back on okay the

controls around the back so I can reach

it easily what one nice thing about this

diffuser also is it's lovely

all the way around 360 a little

different everywhere you look at it but

as I mentioned before they're really

attractive when they're off when they're

on they're spectacular now I've got them

in color-changing mode and I'm gonna dim

the lights

so a little bit so you can get a better

look at them although now I do have

another diffuser that is just

spectacular when all the lights are out

but it's kind of unremarkable and in the

normal light these are pretty very

pretty I mean even the colors really

stand out even here with a relatively

bright light I was going to dim the

light so you could take a look at the

colors but I think these are visible

enough in normal light unlike some

diffusers unlike some color changing

diffusers where you really have to dim

the lights to appreciate the color I

don't think it's necessary with this so

I'm going to start with this one turn it

off and run through the colors

there's the first press which appears to

be a white light that highlights the

gray and then the red so if you like

that color you can just leave it there

maybe pressing this is a deep blue um

indigo and the green very lovely purple

green kind of an aqua blue and back to

the white light which highlights the the

gray which is a very fashionable color

now and in decors turn that one off I

shall leave that running leave that

running through the colors I'll look at

the other one okay so

there it is off looks like a very pretty

face and the first press it appears to

be a white light that just highlights

the the different tones of variations

which almost like a tail on a maroon

another process is a deep red very

pretty

whoo this one's nice there's all

different shades of blue purple and the

green

yeah hmm that appears to be purple and

blue or mole off I guess the green

not sure what my favorite is guess it

would depend on my mood so I really like

these stick users I think I'm gonna use

them a lot just for the light or just

appreciate the attract notice when

they're turned off but they do provide a

lot of mist so I probably use them for a

room with therapy essential oil as well

so the user manual has some basic

information about how to fill the unit

how to clean it and a little

troubleshooting guide so what I like

about these Alive's are mentioned before

is that they're very beautiful whether

they're turned on or off whether they're

running or not

and I like the fact that they're

handmade glass and there's some they're

individualistic they're all just

slightly different so these are the art

glass aromatherapy diffuser from Poseayz

please check the description section

below for more information thanks for

watching

Ok, well, thanks, everyone.

This was SO much fun while it lasted.

Gridiron Heights has never been stronger.

Rebuilding is so fun.

The Jets have been doing it for years!

Helmet to helmet!

Yeah, we're not rebuilding.

Yes you are.

I can clearly see you restructuring everything.

Yeah, no. Nothing's changed.

We're still really good.

Jimmy, are you going to help me?

Nah, just build around me.

Finally! Our rebuild is over.

Hey! I'm not hurt this time!

Soon enough, Sammy.

Just hit the nail, Hue.

The nail may not get hammered....

HELMET GIVEAWAY│Q and A│OZ Racing store visit│MoTour Is One Announcement - Duration: 18:19.

English subtitles are enabled. You may disable them on the settings.

I just haven't opened it yet/

This came in about 3 days ago.

I'm opening it just now because we came from a long ride.

Later box

These are not the typical helmet holders seen online where you can hang your helmets.

As you can see it has included screws.

It's complete and ready to be installed.

Stick it to the wall

It works on wood or concrete

Of course you need to drill a hole first before putting on the screws.

screw it here

You can hang the helmet on it.

It has a slot where you can place the hanger.

So you can also hang riding jackets or gears.

Here are some photos for better illustration.

For those who still doesn't have shirts, caps and other merchandise,

It still has some threads..

I guess the retail version will be smoother and better.

on our first year anniversary

so we'll have giveaways

Let's set it aside

I wonder what's inside. It's really hard to guess.

He bought it. Unfortunately, he has no use for it anymore.

According to him, he never used this.

Have you noticed something? Do you recognize this helmet?

For those who has been watching MoTour since the start,

this is my first ever helmet.

He said it's up to you what you will do with it.

What could be the best use of it?

It adds value because it's the same helmet I used when I started this Vlog.

I'm sure, the winner will be delighted.

Do you see this?

As you can see, his shop is complete with products.

Don't hesitate to visit the store

lots of choices of good quality products

and affordable.

Let's support local brands!

Even if the damage is a result of crash, they will repair it for free.

My cheat sheet

Where are the other MoTour members? Why aren't they joining anymore?

Where is this person? Where is he?

Why aren't they joining? Looking for different people in the Vlog.

The riders who join MoTour are all adults.

Otherwise, they won't be able to join.

There's no guarantee that they are included on all tours/rides.

Even for retired people. There's grandkis' Christening

projects there and then

It's absolutely normal that there will be conflicts on schedule/

There's no guarantee of them always present.

Every time there's such conflict

there's no need to explain or mention it in the Vlog

Example: "He can't make it because of his grandkids' graduation."

We don't have to explain it

We're not classmates in a room where you wonder why a classmate is absent.

In short: Not in the Vlog = conflict on schedule

The reason doesn't need to be public anymore

I hope these questions will come up less

I'm sure if they are available, they will join.

Let's just focus on who's present and enjoy.

When are you upgrading your bike?

Where is it?

What will you buy?

I'm sure a lot of people have been waiting and wondering

so we can access the expressways

It takes a lot longer to reach a place via service roads alone.

It's more expensive because of toll fees but that's because you are paying for time.

The earlier I arrive, the more content I can make.

Why haven't I purchased yet?

I have the Ubox where most of my gadgets are.

All of those 4 storages

are full of my stuff. They are fully utilized.

But an easily accessible storage like the Ubox is still more convenient.

If I suddenly need to shoot something, I can easily get it.

Compared to removing your keys, opening a lock to get the stuff.

It may be a small time difference but convenience is convenience.

I can maximize my scooter.

How fast do I usually ride?

On service roads, we barely exceed 80 or 90kph

It's really rare to reach 100kph

and at times that I need to reach 110 or 115 kph, I can do it with my NMAX.

Most of the time, we drive slower which is just right for the displacement.

It's like the cruising speed.

I can imagine using a 650 or 1000cc bike

riding for hundreds of kilometers

at 70 or 80kph

I might be just using the 2nd to 4th gear only

I have some reservations

speed, comfort and other needs are provided by my current bike

Most of them ride 125-155cc bikes

most of the riders who join me

If I upgrade, they can't join me on the expressways anymore

currently, we can just meet somewhere and ride together going to the destination using the service road.

If I'll just meet them somewhere after expressways

they are the only ones who experience adventure

while I'm bored in the highways

But eventually, we'll get there.

I realized when we were going North, you'll pass through several towns and markets

there;s too much traffic.

During our trip in Tarlac and Zambales,

it took us forever.

Winnie the Pooh left at 4:30AM

He gave me a headstart of 1.5 hours

because he'll take the expressway

so we will arrive hopefully at the same time in the meeting place.

But he arrived one hour earlier

That's still Tarlac.

What more farther North?

Those are the reasons why we still need to upgrade.

Higher displacement motorcycles are still better on long rides.

The 155cc will be easily beaten up when riding

thousands of kilometers.

A lot of riders already did that.

They used lower displacements to ride all over the country

and they made it. As long as your bike is well-maintained, it's highly possible.

That's a really long answer.

I've been reading comments. "Why are the videos taking so long?"

And some comments says, maybe he's going to upload it later today.

For photos, you can upload them as is.

For videos, you still need to edit them.

Otherwise, you'll have to watch 5-10 hours of Vlogs

that's how long the footage is altogether

The vlogs that you watch are already edited. They are cut

to trim the unnecessary parts

so they are jam-packed

If you notice, you barely notice the time passing by

I only leave the essentials

And it takes time and effort to do just that.

You need to browse all of them

My main camera's videos are needed to be watched all.

Phone videos that I take whenever the main camera is not with me.

Drone videos are also edited.

That you need to go through

and join the pieces like puzzle

You put audio,

adjust the volume,

you put voice recording

put sound effects

some filters if needed

You know the feeling when you didn't sleep at all just to finish editing

then you read a comment

"What's taking your upload so long?"

Try editing at least 1 or 2 minute of videos

Try it so you'll understand what I'm saying.

I understand that you're just excited

so am I.

But there's so much going on.

It's not as if you shot them as is with all the laughing, sound effects and trimmings.

our videos are very engaging.

Because we spend time thinking on how the story would be told the best way possible.

There's already a specific post of our schedule.

They are usually posted 2 weeks before the actual ride or event.

for tentative, it's just some idea on what could be possible events/rides.

Why are there still no final long term schedule?

We check each other's schedule for conflicts

I'm doing my best to schedule it with the maximum attendance possible.

That's what we do

Most of them are employees with 8-5 job

available only during weekends

some of them file leave of absence

just to join us.

That's why we can't still set long term final dates.

Generally, my schedule will prevail.

For more questions, comment below so we can answer them on our next session.

How To | Get Street Map info for your Woodworking Projects - Duration: 8:39.

hey guys. so this map right here was created

with a little help from my CNC machine

however the most difficult part of the

project was figuring out how to pull in

the roadmap data and making that be

usable by my CNC CAM software so I ended

up creating two different techniques to

make this happen one uses the vector

data from OpenStreetMaps which is then

modified in adobe illustrator which is

what I used for this build and the

second method is for those without access

to the Adobe software and uses all free

open-source programs

snazzy maps and a PNG - SVG file format

converter this second option gives you

less customized ability and is a little

bit more labor-intensive but it still

does the trick either of these

techniques can be used along with the

laser or done by hand as I showed in the

build video so let's dive right in

first is the technique using Adobe

Illustrator you start on a website

called OpenStreetMaps org navigate to

your desired map location and then

navigate over to the button on the right

side of the screen that says share this

will bring up a menu that you'll then

use to export the data check the box for

set custom dimensions and then select

the area on the map that you want to use

change the format to PDF and then scale

to 50000 and then click download

depending on the size of the map it

might take a little while to collect the

data so just give it a second to load

navigate to the files save location and

right-click and open with Adobe

Illustrator I also created a duplicate

file in case I ever want to revert back

to the original if Adobe says something

about missing fonts when you open the

file just select close and close that

pop-up window now we start the process

of cleaning up the map start by

right-clicking on the map and selecting

ungroup press ctrl shift and a to

deselect everything to make the map

easier to work with I delete all the

text along with the text background and

shadows select one of these elements

then go to the Select menu same

appearance then hit delete to remove all

of these elements rinse and repeat for

all the extra elements layered on top of

your map that you want to get rid of

create a new layer to dump all the data

in that you want to use for your project

first select an element that you want I

started with the water and then open the

Select menu same appearance press ctrl +

X to cut these elements select your new

layer and then press ctrl shift + V to

paste these elements in place repeat the

same thing for all the roads that you

want to include in your map the nice

thing about this method is that you can

choose how detailed you want to get

you can just include the main rows or

you can include every street on the map

for any of the white roads select them

all and change the stroke color to black

so you can see them on the white

background if you want to copy a border

like I did with the city of Washington

DC be sure to copy that over to your new

layer as well you want to change the

stroke color to black adjust the line

weight to the desired thickness and

change it to a solid line by deselecting

dashed line in the stroke menu

alternatively you could also draw your

own shape to define the border of your

map once you're sure that you have

everything you need from the original

map you can now delete the original

layer to make the file smaller and

easier to work with press ctrl + a to

select all of your elements right click

on the border and select make a clipping

mask this will hide all the elements

outside of the border of your map to

delete all the strokes instead of making

them hidden press ctrl + a again to

select everything and in the

transparency window change the drop-down

menu from normal to multiply then

navigate to object flatten transparency

change the raster to vector balance to

100% vector and click OK and that will

eliminate anything outside of your map

border and to make your border visible

again select it and adjust the stroke

color and line weight then click on the

border and select release clipping mask

and ungroup the strokes too if you need to

do that now if you are planning to do

work by hand save and print this file so

you have the different colors to

reference the different thicknesses of

the roads but for CNC and laser work

you'll want to change all the stroke

colors to black if you want the water in

your final piece to be a different color

from the roads like I did copy all of

the water into a new layer you may also

want to clean it up a bit since it

includes literally every body of water

on your map and it even included the

sedimentation tanks at the water

treatment plant on my map for the CNC

you will also want to adjust any water

that touches the border of your map by

manually moving the points in to the

inner extent of the border line or by

offsetting the border and using a

clipping mask on the water layer if

you're using Easel as your CAM software

like me you're going to want to convert

the strokes to paths since Easel doesn't

play well with line segments to do this

select object path outline stroke you

can now export your file as a SVG and

then import that into easel to cut on

your CNC because of the amount of detail

in these maps you might find yourself

with a massive file size so to make

things a little bit lighter in weight you

can export as a PNG instead and then

convert that into an SVG file that Easel

can read like I do in the second method

then once we have everything pulled into

Easel I set my depth of cut to a

quarter of an inch which will set the

maximum

depth of cut in this case it's the rivers

and then I set a quarter inch straight

bit for my roughing pass and a sixty

degree V bit for a finish pass and then

we're ready to carve the second method

uses snazzy Maps and while being easier

it is quite more labor-intensive and

doesn't give you the customizability for

which road you want to include but it

still works perfectly for your CNC or

laser operation so you'll want to

navigate to snazzy Maps com you'll need

to create an account if you want to

create and save your own styles like I

did and also to download these images

there are many predefined styles on

snazzy maps but you can create your own

by changing the color of all the

elements or you can even access the

Jackman style that I created and use it

for yourself so start by selecting your

map style and navigate to the location

on the map that you are interested in to

determine the level of detail that you

want to include you can zoom in and out

on the map the further you zoom in the

more detail will appear now this method

is essentially going to export tiles

from this map that you can then piece

together to use for your cutting file

navigate to one of the corners where you

want your map to cover and then select

to 1000 by 1000 and a scale factor of 3x

adjust the location of the map as needed

and select download image this will give

you a PNG file of the map that was shown

on the screen if your desired map covers

a larger area than this like mine did

you'll want to navigate to the remaining

areas of the map and download those

images as well and do you have all the

tiles to make up your final map just

make sure that you don't zoom in or out

or you could lose the scale relative

to the other tiles that you've already

saved open all these image files in GIMP

a free photo editing software choose one

of the tiles as your main file and

increase the canvas size under image

canvas size make it large enough for

your entire map now you're going to copy

one of the adjacent tiles and paste it

into your main map file in your layer

menu right click on those pasted layer

and select to new layer this will allow

you to move this tile around and align

it with the others zoom in and use the

rows to align one tile with another

repeat this until all tiles cover the

entire desired map area now merge all

the layers together by right-clicking on

the top layer and selecting merge down

and repeat this until you've merged all

the layers together into a single layer

to define the border of the map you can

create your own shape and crop around

this but I'm going to use the border of

the map to crop around use the color

select tool and select the red border

since it's a dashed line go to select grow

and set it to 10 pixels to create a

solid line for your

hit delete to remove the selection and

then clean up the border using the free

select tool to select all the areas on

the map that you want to keep once you

get all the way around your map hit

enter to confirm your selection navigate

to select invert to select all the areas

that you want to remove outside of the

border and then hit delete to remove

those you can now clean up the map by

manually removing any rows that you

don't want to include you can make the

water a different color but this will be

much more labor-intensive than the first

method to do this you'll have to use the

free select tool and select all the

water and then cut and paste it as its

own layer that can be exported

separately once you are happy with your

map go to file export as and save your

map as a PNG file for Easel to be able

to read this file you need to convert it

to an SVG file to do this I use an

online PNG - SVG converter tool which

I'll link in the description go to that

website and upload your PNG file select

monochrome from the optional settings

and then click convert file this will

recognize all the black areas as lines

for the CNC that cut down on your file

and then import the SVG into easel

adjust the scale to the size of the map

that you want and then you can start

carving now this bonus video was made

possible by my patrons over on Patreon

so huge shout out for the support for

helping me make extra content like this

so there you go both of those methods

can be used to grab road map data for

using your CNC or laser projects or if

you even want to do it by hand if you

like that kind of torture be sure to

check out the full build video of this

map of Washington DC to see this method

applied to an actual project I actually

ended up scaling up my map into 4

different tiles to be able to make a map

larger than what my CNC is capable of

handling so I'll link that build video

down below along with any other websites

that you need to make this happen like

OpenStreetMaps SnazzyMaps the SVG

file converter or anything else like

that so hopefully this technique helps

someone to make a project similar to

this and if you do post it on Instagram

and tag me I'd love to see it alright

you got a build video to go watch now

and you watch it already you go watch it

again

What believing in Colin Kaepernick means for Nike - Duration: 9:24.

JUDY WOODRUFF: The sportswear company Nike just launched a new advertising campaign featuring

former NFL quarterback Colin Kaepernick.

As William Brangham reports, Nike's move has triggered calls for a boycott and reignited

the debate over social protest.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: Nike's new ad just shows Colin Kaepernick's face.

The word say: "Believe in something, even if it means sacrificing everything."

Kaepernick, of course, doesn't currently have a job in the NFL, and it's unclear if he ever

will again.

Kaepernick came to national prominence back in 2016, when he was a quarterback for the

San Francisco 49ers.

Protesting what he described as racial injustice in America, Kaepernick kneeled down when the

national anthem was played before games.

Here's how he explained why he was doing it.

COLIN KAEPERNICK, Former National Football League Player: There are a lot of things that

are going on there that are unjust, people aren't being held accountable for.

And that's something that needs to change.

One specifically is police brutality.

There's people being murdered unjustly and not being held accountable.

Cops are getting paid leave for killing people.

That's not right.

That's not right by anyone's standards.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: Some fellow NFL players followed suit, echoing Kaepernick's protest.

But Kaepernick was also heavily criticized, with many arguing he was being unpatriotic

or was somehow denigrating America's armed forces.

Last fall, President Trump joined that chorus, casting these protests against police violence

as an attack on the American flag.

DONALD TRUMP, President of the United States: Wouldn't you love to see one of these NFL

owners, when somebody disrespects our flag, to say, get that son of a (EXPLETIVE DELETED)

off the field right now, out?

He's fired.

He's fired!

(CHEERING AND APPLAUSE)

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: So, I watched Colin Kaepernick, and I thought it was terrible.

And then it got bigger and bigger and started mushrooming.

I will tell you, you cannot disrespect our country, our flag, our anthem.

You cannot do that.

(CHEERING AND APPLAUSE)

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: The minute Nike's ad was released yesterday, some critics took to social

media, blasting the company and publicly destroying or defacing their own Nike clothing.

MAN: Five pairs of shoes, and they are all going to let them burn.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: For its part, Nike stood by the decision.

A vice president for the company said this to ESPN: "We believe Colin is one of the most

inspirational athletes of this generation, who has leveraged the power of sport to help

move the world forward."

President Trump reportedly said today that Nike was sending a -- quote -- "terrible message"

with this ad, but also said Nike's ability to do what it wants is -- quote -- "what this

country is all about."

For more on all this, I'm joined now by one of the country's great sports writers, John

Feinstein.

He's a contributing columnist for The Washington Post and has written dozens of books.

His latest, soon to be released, is about the NFL.

It's called "Quarterback."

Welcome back to the show.

JOHN FEINSTEIN, Sportswriter/Author: My pleasure, William.

Thanks.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: The Nike campaign, as we just heard, says specifically, "Believe in

something, even if it means sacrificing everything."

The clear implication there is that Kaepernick lost his career in the NFL because he spoke

up, not because he was maybe not the great quarterback.

Is that true?

Is that why he lost his job?

JOHN FEINSTEIN: One percent true, William.

This -- he was a starting quarterback in 2016 for the San Francisco 49ers, and actually

had a pretty good year, 14 touchdown passes and three interceptions, for a bad team.

But he was a starter.

And then he became a free agent that March and couldn't get a job, even as a backup quarterback.

Teams went out and signed guys from arena leagues, instead of signing him.

And there was absolutely no way, in my mind, that the NFL was going to allow him to continue

to play after he had led this national anthem protest.

And, as President Trump said, it did grow.

And that's what he set out to do.

He wanted to create a dialogue -- his words.

And that's what happened.

And the NFL wouldn't give him a job.

And now they're facing a collusion case in front of an arbitrator brought by Colin Kaepernick.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: Right, that he's -- you clearly believe that Kaepernick's case is

legit, that the owners, maybe they didn't get on the phone...

JOHN FEINSTEIN: Right.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: ... collectively and say, hey, let's not hire this guy.

But that's going to be a very hard case to prove.

JOHN FEINSTEIN: It always is, unless there's a smoking gun, unless there's a transcript

of a conversation between the commissioner and owners.

I mean, back in the 1980s, baseball players were able to prove collusion against the Major

League owners in terms of contracts, because they -- it came out that the commissioner

back then had said, don't sign them to these big contracts.

But it is very hard to prove.

I also think, though, that the Eric Reid case may help Kaepernick, because Eric Reid is

a 27-year-old safety who was one of the best in the league, a teammate of Kaepernick's,

joined Kaepernick's protest, became a free agent last -- this past March, and doesn't

have a contract either.

So you don't have to get on the phone with people to collude not to sign somebody.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: Speaking of the Nike campaign, do you think that there is a potential downside

to them?

I mean, we have already seen the trickles of a boycott, threatening -- people burning

their shoes.

Do you think there's a downside to the company?

JOHN FEINSTEIN: There's no question there's a gamble here on the -- on the business side

by Nike.

I'm sure they did market research before they launched -- made the decision to sign Kaepernick

to a new contract -- he'd been with them since 2011 -- and to launch this campaign.

And, of course, you knew -- they knew there was going to be backlash like this at first,

because this is a very -- this is a very black-and-white issue to most people.

You're either on one side or you're on the other side.

There are very few people who are in the middle.

So what you saw during your piece there, people burning Nike gear -- the stock went down today

on Wall Street.

But they -- I'm sure they're convinced that, long term, there will be bounce-back because

of this campaign for them.

I'm reminded a little bit, in an ironic way, of years ago, when Michael Jordan was asked

-- another Nike client, was asked by Dean Smith to campaign for Harvey Gantt in the

Senate race in North Carolina against Jesse Helms, one of the last segregationists in

the Senate.

Michael Jordan turned him down and said to Dean Smith, black -- Republicans buy shoes

too.

And I think Nike is banking on the fact right now that African-Americans buy shoes too.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: And maybe it's possible that Nike actually wants to court a backlash.

I mean, we know that they have been taking some market heat from companies like Under

Armour.

JOHN FEINSTEIN: Right.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: Maybe they want to polarize the environment and drive young, maybe liberal,

maybe African-American kids to buy their pricey shoes.

JOHN FEINSTEIN: Well, it's very interesting, because who is their most prominent spokesman

right now?

It's LeBron James, who's been very outspoken on social issues, who has engaged with President

Trump in a give-and-take that's been very hostile.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: And seemingly suffered no repercussions for it.

JOHN FEINSTEIN: No, and he's still the most -- probably right now the most popular athlete,

certainly in this country and perhaps in the world.

Maybe there are soccer players who are more popular worldwide than LeBron James.

But, in this country, he is the man.

And he's very different than Michael Jordan, who never wanted to take a political stance.

He's taken many political stances.

Serena Williams has also spoken out on Kaepernick's behalf just in the last few days.

So, I think Nike is believing, or hoping at least, that there will be people who will

say, hey, you're on Colin Kaepernick's side, we want your product.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: To that example of LeBron and Serena, is that simply a function of,

if you are clearly at the top in your field, you can risk a political controversy, but

if you're maybe on the bubble, you can't risk it?

JOHN FEINSTEIN: Oh, there's no question about that.

I mean, if Tom Brady -- let's just use that as an example -- chose to kneel for the national

anthem...

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: He's, I have heard, a decent quarterback himself.

JOHN FEINSTEIN: Yes, he's had a few good years.

He's won five Super Bowls.

I think he'd still have a job.

Or, to use an African-American example, Cam Newton with the Carolina Panthers, if he had

been the one who had decided to take this issue on, he wouldn't have ended up as a free

agent without a job.

But Colin Kaepernick was a good NFL quarterback.

He took the 49ers to a Super Bowl in his second year in the league, and has been a solid player.

But a great player?

No.

Is he going to the Hall of Fame?

No.

And because of that, a lot of teams took the approach, either we don't want them.

Remember, most NFL owners are conservative.

At least seven of them gave more than a million dollars to President Trump in his campaign.

Or, B, he's not worth the trouble that will come, because there clearly has been some

backlash among NFL fans, especially since that speech that President Trump gave...

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: Right.

JOHN FEINSTEIN: ... in September of 2017.

The week before he gave that speech, there were total of six NFL players who knelt for

the national anthem.

That Sunday, two days later, there were more than 200.

And three NFL teams stayed in the locker room altogether.

And the controversy is still ongoing because the owners tried to unilaterally change the

rules on the anthem this past May, saying, if you are on the field, you must stand.

And the Players Association...

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: If not, head to the locker room.

JOHN FEINSTEIN: Yes, or stay in the locker room.

And the Players Association said, wait a minute, this is part of this -- the collective bargaining

agreement.

You have to bargain this with us.

So, now they have backed off.

And the two sides are trying to negotiate some kind of compromise.

WILLIAM BRANGHAM: John Feinstein, the next book is "Quarterback."

Can't wait to see it.

Thank you very much for being here.

JOHN FEINSTEIN: Thanks for having me, William.

Appreciate it.

Tim Shopp Interview at Army of Hardcore USA 2018 - Duration: 9:41.

Hey guys it's Zman, here again at Army of Hardcore!

I'm with the one and only Tim Shopp, uptempo man of the US, from New Jersey in fact.

So, how's it going, how have you enjoyed the event so far?

First of all, the Globe Theatre, I've never been here.

So coming in here, when you say "theater," I expect a theater. And I fucking got that.

There's Gothic lamps, there's old chairs, there's the balconies where people used to watch opera.

Obviously Mrotek killed it, Davide Sonar brought the classics, Amada is on right now,

Sprinky is going to be on later, and then I get to perform as well. So far, [it's been] a good night.

It's been great! So, I want to start by talking about...

we were just talking with James about the release you guys had, "The Dark" on Partyraiser Recordings.

But, there was another release you had on there with Unresolved.

So, what is it like working/collabing with a raw artist from this side [of the Atlantic vs] the guys in Europe.

What is the difference working in that capacity compared to with another American

where time zones line up a little better?

I can tell you that getting messages at 6 o'clock in the morning with ideas for tracks is always fun

because I'm usually up anyway and then I work until like noon my time.

Then at 6 PM his time, he [adds] his ideas.

For me, I think it's so interesting working with some of the rawstyle guys

because a lot of them bring crazy sound design, screeches, and kicks.

So it's really cool to work with them, have an idea, and kind of be on the same page with people.

And then they bring a lot of ideas to the table that I don't really know if I would have thought of this.

Then they're like, "well, normally I'll do this with a track," and I'm like "well, that sounds cool," so we'll do that.

Or even sometimes it's like, "fuck that, that's garbage, scrap that." But, it's really fun to work with some guys.

That's great! So, I talked a bit earlier about how you're going to be moving over to Europe which is set in stone.

If you had to choose the first three things to do when you get [settled in], what would [they] be?

What are stuff you've wanted to do but you never really got the chance [to do] as a visitor?

Believe it or not, ride a boat on the canal. Every time I go it's either winter or shitty weather.

I'd definitely like to go to some techno shows. I have a deep love for techno and everything like that.

So I love going to regular clubs and enjoying that.

Every time I get there, we go to this place in The Hague with the best weed that there is in the entire country.

So I always go there.

That's funny. So with techno, I was just over [there] for Defqon.1, Hard Island, and some other events.

I stopped over in Berlin for a few days.

I am not a techno person, but, I was like, "I'm in Berlin, you've gotta!"

You know, I actually talked with Crypsis at Hardstyle Arena a couple months ago.

He said, "You've gotta go to Tresor!" I don't know if you've heard of Tresor but it's a bunker,

a really imposing building with red lights going up the sides.

If you get in, because not everyone gets in, you need to wear all black and go alone, then you're good.

You get in, and you just keep going down.

Now that sounds like my type of party, I love that.

Right, and there's so much smoke and fog all the time, strobe lights going off everywhere.

You feel like you're on something even if you're totally sober, which I was just to experience it.

Unbelievable. This guy had a live set with a sequencer where you just plug in [cables to] different inputs.

So he was slowly adding in a kick, a melody, etc.

See dude, that's like, that's, wow...

Absolutely insane.

So, that's just my recommendation, check it out!

That's the nice thing about Europe, the US is fucking big and it's so hard to get places.

In Europe, getting to Berlin [from the Netherlands], you could easily get there by train, by Flixbus, or whatever.

Definitely big ups there.

[brain fart X_X]

What's something that I could ask you now...

How about...what's been your favorite part about playing in the US even though at times,

people like me, I'll be honest, I'm horribly educated with a lot of uptempo and I'm trying to learn more about it.

So, how do you present the sound to people without them like, recoiling [in response]?

To be honest, like you said, it's a hit or a miss.

There's no in between, it's either like, "I like this" or "I don't like this."

For me, in a lot of my sets, to be honest most of the time I just go.

I don't really know how to [ease in].

I know a lot of people aren't cool about that because [they feel] you have to DJ to the crowd.

But, at the end of the day, I like to play what I like to play, you know what I mean?

There's certain tracks that people want to hear, so I don't have a problem playing those but,

99% of my set is going to be what I like.

Fortunately, knock on wood, the shows that I have performed here in the US, it does go over well.

To be honest, it's shocking. Sometimes you go to these areas where you're like,

"I've got a booking out there, I don't really know what to expect."

And I go out there, and I've gone to places and been blown away.

For example, Wisconsin, I went out there and played a show at 8 o'clock in the morning to 10 o'clock

in the morning, breakfast. Like they were making pancakes and serving beer and there was uptempo.

On paper, you read that and you're like, "...okay, I guess so."

But it wound up being like, hands down, one of the best experiences and shows I've ever had in the US.

I know I have a lot of love here in L.A. so, something like tonight, I've been excited for months

waiting for this, and now it's finally here!

Yeah, and again, as we mentioned earlier, the venue is just fantastic.

We see these crazy ass lasers going off right now. Oh man!

So is there anything else you want to say to your fans about

maybe some upcoming releases you wanna just throw out there or anything in general?

Alright, so there should be a couple more US bookings before I finish the move to Holland.

I can't say where yet but it's known and when you see them, I'll see you there.

For releases, I have an EP coming out with a couple remixes of one of my favorite tracks "Terror Squad"

I have a couple remixes coming in, one from Levenkhan here in the US, Frenchcore producer. He did a remix.

Remix from MBK. The Dope Doctors who are a really good duo from Holland are coming up right now.

As well as Doctor Terror.

Then I have another track with The Dope Doctors that will be on the EP.

It's called "Serengeti," I've been playing it a lot here and just kind of testing it out.

But now that's going to be an official release.

And then on top of that, I have so much more music in the works.

I've been focusing a lot more on quality and trying to create these unique sounds and everything.

So I have a lot of original tracks coming too that might be "different" for some people,

but I think it's going to be really good.

And then I also have a remix by Yunke, who is in Spain,

of one of my newer releases "Engage" that came out at the end of 2017.

I have a remix of that and I'm going to test it here tonight to see how that goes.

There's so much more man, I have a list of tracks I could name off.

That's great, I was talking to James [Mrotek] about this earlier how both of you guys

are pretty meticulous [regarding] when you release stuff. It's not like you [rush the releases].

I try to be.

I feel like you guys are.

Not to say anything bad about these [other artists]

but there's no "Tweekay16" where you release a track a month, you know? There's a lot more focus [per track].

I know it's hard for you guys, the fans, who really want to hear more of Tim Shopp but -

A lot of the time it's out of our control.

When the track will be done, you can give it to somebody and it may take a year, a month, a week.

That's always a pain in the ass but what are you going to do?

Alright, so thanks again for the interview!

I'm looking forward to you giving me and a lot of other people [watching]

who might not be as familiar with uptempo a new education on the subject.

I think [your upcoming releases] are going to be a lot of fun.

Thank you guys for tuning in!

Thank you!

iPad 2018 & Apple Pencil review - after 2 months | ENG subtitle 廣東話 - Duration: 10:12.

This program is

unsponsored

by Apple

I have use the 2018 iPad

and Apple Pencil

almost 2 months

So I think I can do the depth

review

Let talk the iPad first

is really good

so fast

Now my all video is edited by iPad

with the LumaFusion app

Affinity Photo for photo edit

Affinity Designer for graphic design

They're so good

And Apple Pencil

for photo edit is very good

I am not good at drawing

by drawing is so bad

I'm a bad drawing designer

Even straight line

sketch is just fine

I can't without ruler when I draw straight line

But iPad I have use 2 month

I found some

Apple Apps for support the Apple Pencil

in some case is stupid

Use Page app for word processing

When you want to use Apple Pencil to do some edit

Not drawing

but the drawing function will come out

If you want to select

but you know! using hand to select is not very well

I think Apple Pencil to do select is better

But Apple Pencil is only

have drawing function

so stupid

not only in Page have it problem

is all apple apps have a same problem

and other Apple Pencil bad things

the weight

Apple Pencil is not light weight

compare wiht Wacom pen

of course, this is Wacom Pen Tablets

is for computer only

Wacom have pen can use on iPad

but is not too much features like Apple Pencil

so I don't have Wacom pen for iPhone or iPad

But Wacom pen is super light weight

Same workload both of them

200 photos edit

Apple Pencil will kill your hand

this weight is not for high workload

Wacom light weight let you forget

you're holding the pen

of course

they're not same

Apple Pencil is for iPad

This Wacom pen

is for Wacom Pen Tablets only

Can't compare both for them

Apple Pencil CONS: heavy weight

2. the charging method

Apple Pencil is built in lightning

stupid way

like that plug-in to iPad to charging

I never do that

I use

the adapter connect to lightning cable

This way is just ok but not good design

Apple Pencil the battery capacity

is not very well too

I almost recharge every week

maybe my workload is too high

video edit I have use Apple Pencil

use that to select something is very good

and photo edit

maybe my workload is too high

so I recharge every week

maybe not very high workload can keep over 10 days

This is my 2 months experience

average 10 days recharge one time

recharge every 10 days

The 2018 iPad

I don't have any bad feeling on that

you know

This is cheap model

so

the gap between touch screen and glass

is bigger

compare with iPad Pro

but don't forget

this iPad is cheaper so much

This iPad is 128GB

Because

lower one is 32GB only

Don't think 32GB is ok for you

I show you why

If you looking for the same use like me

for video edit

look

I not use too much storage

I have used 42.5GB

So what is 42.5GB work for

I haven't too much apps

Let me tell you what apps I have

LumaFusion

Affinity two apps

That 3 apps is not very big

And I have delete

GarageBand

I just keep the iMovie

and other apps I have

facebook, ebay,

google map, canon printer,

canon camera connection,

WD iCloud,

Instagram, PayPal

finished not too much

So why used 42.5GB

you know

iOS system

almost used 8GB with the apps can't delete

So if 32GB iPad

you add some apps will be full

You maybe not enough to add your apps

So how is my workflow

When I finish my editing

I'll delete everything

every single time

Because I want to develop this habit

if not...

128GB maybe very fast will full

Now I used 42.5GB

I don't keep on the iPad

If you have NAS is better

NAS in Chinese is...

NAS...

I don't know Chinese

NAS is very helpful

If not... Oh

Big problem in iPad is

You know

I take video and put to youtube every day

If you use iPad YouTube app

iPad YouTube app for upload

is very slow

compare with computer

and if you want to make subtitle in YouTube like me

the YouTube app can't do that

If don't use the app use the browser

for distop function is not work

I don't know why

maybe is Apple lock the function I don't know

or YouTube support problem

and your YouTube want to change the image

the app is can't do that too...

If you want to download

iPad can't download...

and upload to youtube is not good too

so

upload, download

and YouTube subtitle features

I need use MacBook Air to do that all

So this is my after 2 months

using iPad experience

This is my review

summary

2018 iPad is a very good tablet

can use Apple Pencil is very good

and you also can find some apps

to make your iPad be your second screen

your computer second screen

if you use Apple Pencil on that second screen

that will like the drawing board

they can do that

but you need to find that apps

for that features

Stop here now

see you next

South Korea's consumer prices rose by 1.4% y/y in August: Data - Duration: 2:30.

Consumer prices in South Korea are continuing to grow too slowly for the country's central

bank.

The Bank of Korea is targeting two percent, but overall price growth remained rooted in

the one percent range last month.

Kim Ji-yeon reports.

South Korea's consumer prices remained in the one-percent growth range for the eleventh

straight month in August.

Statistics Korea says overall consumer prices increased by one-point-four-percent compared

to the same month last year.

The rate of increase was pulled down by electricity, water and gas prices... which plunged nearly

nine-percent on-year.

The statistics agency says the government's revision to the progressive electricity billing

rates had some impact on consumer prices... lowering them by around zero-point-three-percent.

Most of the price increases came from vegetables and fruits... as well as crude oil.

Prices of agricultural, livestock and marine products climbed three-and-a-half-percent

from the same period last year...

affected by the record-breaking heatwave.

"To stabilize prices ahead of Chuseok, Korea's Thanksgiving holiday, the government laid

out measures late last month on 14 main items such as cabbages and fruits... to increase

their supply at local wholesale markets.

Up to 70-percent discounts will be provided during the holiday period."

Prices of Dubai crude, Korea's benchmark, traded at around 73 dollars a barrel on average

in August... raising the prices of local gasoline by 11-percent on-year.

Core inflation, which excludes volatile oil and food prices, edged up nearly one percent

on-year.

"The most important factor in determining consumer price increases is probably domestic

demand... which is indicated by core inflation.

The level of consumer price increases is likely to stay below the BOK's 2% target since core

inflation remains around the one-percent level."

"Last month's consumer price increases fell below the BOK's target of two-percent... raising

speculation that the central bank is likely to pursue monetary tightening measures at

a gradual pace."

The BOK kept its benchmark interest rate at one-point-five percent for the ninth consecutive

month in August.

Free To Choose 1980 – The Power of the Market – Squandering Freedom - Duration: 1:57.

Now you talked earlier about the fact that

during the last fifty years we had squandered

some of our inheritance of freedom.

FRIEDMAN: Absolutely

And I believe during the last fifty years

we really have improved our freedom.

I spent over half that time working for one of the

world's largest industrial companies,

the Dupont Company,

deeply involved with the launching of new ventures,

and got to know the free enterprise system well,

and have a very healthy respect for it.

But during that interval, and particularly during the

last few years when I have been more involved with

government and with environmental matters,

I have become convinced that our freedom

was improved when the people are allowed

to add to their freedom in the marketplace.

The freedom for voting with their dollars in

the market place, the freedom to vote

with their ballots in the polling place,

to put some restraints on the excesses

of the marketplace, particularly when

you're concerned with such things as the

long-term impact on our health from the

pollution of our environment,

the introduction of carcinogenic materials,

or the radiation of our

people with nuclear products.

What about putting some restraints on

the excesses of government?

Hasn't that become an ever more serious problem?

How is it that a government of the people,

supposedly, does things which a very large

fraction of the people would really prefer not

to have done, such as over-tax them,

over-govern them, over-regulate them?

I think you're looking, again,

at one side and not the other.

And of course I agree we have to look

at what's happened in the interim.

We're better off than we were fifty years ago.

Never would deny that.

But we stand on the shoulders of

the people that went before us.

We have to look at how much they achieved

from where they started, and that was

the period in which you had the tremendous

influx of immigrants from abroad,

millions and millions and millions of them,

Cruising from Driver to Promoter to Assoc Exec. Director - Carson Gramm on CSquad - Duration: 45:51.

Hey everybody, welcome to the CSquad live racing show

this is a pre-recorded show and I'm really really

Excited because we are here to discuss cool stuff around racing and on this episode

Normally, we're going live Monday nights at 7:30. But since it's Labor Day weekend, and we're all racing. We're doing a pre-recorded show

And you should be viewing this Tuesday night at 7:30 instead

I talked about on the last episode and we have with us today

Carson Graham who

I'm going to have him share with you, but I think he's like the associate president of Wissota or a deputy director

but he's

going to evolve into taking I believe Terry Voeltz's role who served Wissota for many many years &

We're going to chat with him about his new role how it's going, some cool things

happening what's going on with Wissota

100? CSquad live is sponsored by Wehrs Machine

Which makes cool stuff for race cars and Redd Headed Rebel Brew coffee

which makes

Branded coffee for

rebels,

Rule-breakers, cowboys, and game changers and they offer free gift cards for all coffee orders

free gift messages, so if you want to get someone a

gift & of course Wehr's makes really cool trick stuff for race cars and is a big supporter of racing and

Some noteworthy quotes

That I heard recently one is "Whiners rarely win and winners rarely whine"

Anonymous think about that one

Tips for learning ask questions. It speeds up the learning curve. Don't be scared to ask questions

You might get some bad answers, but just keep asking questions because you'll get some good ones, too

Noteworthy stories the

12th annual Seitz Memorial race is this weekend in Grand Forks and

Of course

Which is John Seitz

Memorial race it's three days late models Midwest mods and believe they have Street Stocks, too

And it's a 92 lap

$920 to start late model feature for $9200 to win, & there's also great prizes for all the classes racing fun time

And then of course Wissota 100 which is September

12 to 16 at I 94 Speedway in Fergus Falls, Minnesota

It's a really cool race track

If you've never been there, it's their first year

So they're probably going to have a few bugs & you know different people and so don't expect perfection, but expect in wonderful time

And there'll be live streaming on racing dirt

My good buddies over there racing dirt

I really like those guys &

it'll also be someone I don't know who but it's going to be on MAVTV - so this winter you'll be able to

maybe see yourself on TV.

Or at least you'll see racing on TV and see someone you know, and maybe someone you know

get lucky and win and they'll remember for the rest of their life

Next CSquad live

will be back Monday night September 10th, which is the week of the 100 Wissota 100 and 7:30 live with a

big-ass guest excuse my cussin

I do that from time to time and then we'll also be doing CSquad live each day

at the Wissota 100 in the old Scott Bintz Racing trailer

With a guest everyday at one o'clock

15-minute interview live we'll get some takes on the night before racing

It'll be fun. We don't know what we're doing, but we're learning as we go.

Rebel Rants

just a quick one and we'll get Carson on here is

the new ten-foot pit rule

I don't know if you've heard about this, but it's my new rule tat

I'm imposing upon the racing community and that is if you walked by someone or

You see someone in there within 10 feet. You must say hi or how it's going,

good to see you or something like that because everyone likes to feel welcome &

When you make people feel welcome, you will feel welcome

It's not somebody else's job to do it, It's our job to do it

so let's take care of the dirt we play on and make it friendly & fun &

anyway, tonight,

On CSquad racing shirts there's a link where you can get them and

If you take a picture yourself and post it in the comments of this video

It's a chance to win some Red Head Rebel Brew coffee

which will be selected & now Carson Gramm

Associate Director welcome to the show Carson.

Hey Scott, thanks for having me. Tell me

So I don't know what to call you not the titles matter, really

But what is your role now? And what's it evolving to?

So right now my role is called the Associate Executive Director

Evolving into the Executive Director position from Terry Voeltz

Somewhere in the next couple months here. Sometime shortly after the loop of the Wissota 100

Kind of throughout the annual meeting and national banquet and things like that

You know, it's been a crazy summer taking this on

Going from promoting last year at Granite City Speedway in Sauk Rapids, Minnesota

To just a few short months later after that season ended getting a call from Wissota about this position

And taking it on in February

It's created a very quick learning curve but a very fun learning curve all in the same so.

I'm looking forward to it. I'm looking forward to serving you guys as racers

sponsors, big support, you know supporters of racing the fans the promoters

Everybody that's involved and what sort of racing I'm looking forward to serving for many years to come

What for the people who don't you know, I always think that's cool when I'm kind of you're evolving leadership

that it's really good, great leaders will kind of ask a lot of questions and they'll observe and learn

and it kind of sounds like that's kind of the role you're in and you're

offering some feedback &

You're attending a lot of races and talking to promoters and talking to drivers and getting a little coaching from old-school

Characters like Terry Voeltz. I just smile when I see Terry Voeltz his name, because he's you know,

He's it's heart has always been in the right place.

Whatever you might think of Terry. He's been a supporter of racing & been trying to help the sport for years &

He is a man I would love to always have a cup of coffee with so,

But, tell us about kind of your back and you've raced, you've promoted a track

Now you're doing this. So you you grew up in South Dakota, right?

Yeah, grew up in South Dakota. Not far from Aberdeen, SD in Brown County Speedway where my dad was Terry Voeltz's announcer

When I was growing up

So I got the set up there in the crow's nest in the upper

Left-hand corner of the grandstand if you're looking at it from the racetrack

Sat up there with him watched racing then we started racing go-karts

the which evolved in the legend cars & a lot of traveling & then

Into super stocks and less traveling because I was in school and going to school going to

Minnesota State University Mankato go Mavericks always have to say that

Where I decided to go into sport management and economics and

Decided to take a year off and racing in

2016 and worked at Elko Speedway and

Then it just continued to stay away from the racecar

I guess and took I got a job promoting up here at Granite City Speedway and

Now this so we have since sold all of our racing stuff. We've sold the car

And we're just out of it for a while

To try not to create a big conflict of interest so

It's been fun, you know having family that's worked in it for many years Dave and Sue out at Gallatin Speedway their actually my Aunt & Uncle

our Gallatin Speedway in Belgrade, Montana, so

I've been around for a long time and I just decided to work in it.

Awesome. Yeah, I was a KRA speedway racing and Scotty Paulson's a

flagman there Scotty Paulson's a friend of mine

I really loved Scotty, he's great people and he invited me to come up there after I got done racing

And I wish I had taken, I never I haven't been up in a flag stand

I think it's probably a cool perspective on racing, but I was so disappointed in my performance. I just packed up went home, but

but anyway

Very cool. Then you've kind of been in racing & around racing & wore many hats. I think that makes for a good leader

What's it like to be the Associate President of Wissota Executive Director?

It's a lot of phone calls. Mondays are always crazy with phone calls, obviously

as you know from being in business for a long time Mondays are always a fun day on the phone & emails &

things like that

you know, it's a lot of

Watching social media trying to keep up with drivers

even if you're not at that track, trying to keep up with tracks, even if you're not, you know at that track or in that area

And always having your phone on and always being able to answer questions

As well as just be a friend to people

sometimes someone just needs someone to talk to and maybe blow off a little steam & I can always be that person within reason so

It's a lot of wearing a lot of hats and trying to balance

Balance all those roles as much as possible

Yeah, there's usually no no shortage of opinions and racing. So I think you always have to have a degree of

Listing ear & also balancing

Lots of different perspectives on things for lack of a better way to say it.

So, your normal week Monday is a lot of phone calls. Weekends you're hitting racetracks during the week

you're

Like promoters call and say hey, can we do this? Can we do that? Drivers call? I mean what?

Yeah, I mean it's a number of things, fans will call to talk about their experience at a racetrack

Promoters will call to talk about good things that happened, bad things that happened

Or sometimes just to say hi, how's it going which is always fun and drivers will do that, too

You know, they'll talk about the good & the bad

I like to hear about the good but as you said we always have to we have to be able to listen and digest

Sometimes the bad as well

And the bad things that happen over the weekend at different places or in specific races

You know, but we always try to stay positive through it all and and try to not

Not let some of the things that are said get a person down

and you just have to be happy every time and

know that everyone's calling & everyone has a story to tell & it just about hearing that story &

Trying to help them through that day's problem or that weekend's problem.

So, you know you mentioned that

all the racing stuff sold, you've got kind of a promoter or the grand promoter hat on now to help tracks and the

grow Wissota & help it connect with the fans and &

drivers

and the

Tracks that three things going on there your fans, drivers, tracks

& so that's a lot of different things to

To kind of juggle. What are you most excited about?

I'm most excited

To want to

Work with the promoters & try to figure out ways to put a lot of people in the grandstands so we can start filling

grandstands again

You know, of course we always have to work ways to put more race cars in the pit area

But I believe that'll come with time a little bit

we have to kind of rebuild the interest in the grandstand &

Getting people to understand what is actually happening out there.

Even if it is just the fan that comes to one maybe two races a year at their local racetrack

we want to try to build those guys up the escalator and

Take them from one to two races to three - four - five - six - eventually

Maybe buying a season ticket if the local racetrack offers that option

So, I'm really looking forward to - the things like MAVTV, the things you know working with Scott Hughes that All the Dirt.

You know help out there

And we're working with Scott Hughes to try to get his word out there with All the Dirt Racing News

And try to build that brand & have him help us more

to build

Into things like MAVTV again next year after this year, you know, it's gonna be a great year MAVTV coming on board

And

Then going forward into future years & seeing what we could do to

to grow out of our little Midwest & intO the whole United States and maybe a little bit further south and

west and east and of course North so I think we have a lot of options going forward that I'm

Looking forward to them all. Where drivers, fans, promoters, sponsors.

Everybody we had a little bit of an internet glitch there, so

one of the things that happens

From time to time but

Carson was talking about MAVTV. So tell us a little bit about the MAVTV deal you got going on with Wissota

& MAVTV. Oh, yeah. Yeah so MAVTV came on board to

Do two one-hour TV shows with us out of the Wissota

100. Someone for the modified someone for the late models this year. Hopefully growing that next year

Trying to start somewhere and start with something. So

It's gonna be two shows produced from the 100

With some Pit reporting going on some things like that

So we might stop in your pit area. We might stop in Dan Wheeler's pit area. We might stop in

Someone else's pit area & just talk to them see how things are going & kind of get their take on the weekend.

You know what their strategy is for the big race on Saturday?

Awesome, so that's mods & late models

is the kind of the starting point and so if

washed-up b-mod driver like me wants to

Be shown in the racing action am I gonna have to put a 8-inch spoiler on my B mod race with the big boys.

Oh not necessarily we're gonna do a lot of of stories with it. We're gonna be coming around talking everyone.

So be prepared to talk to us if we show up in your pit area, Don't go running the other way

All right. Yeah, very cool. I think that's awesome.

Any plans this winter to have tech meetings that maybe

Drivers can attend to just better understand rules not meetings to give opinion on what I think the rules should be

But more of Wissota saying hey

Do you have any questions on the current rules and how we tech for them or what we mean by it kind of thing?

Right, so we're looking at ways that we can better

You know better teach the drivers and the teams

About how to make sure their car is legal when it comes to the track so they don't have any issues

When they get there, right?

You want that first night at the racetrack to go smooth you want to end up in victory lane.

You want to make it nice and smooth. No issues.

So, we're always looking at ways that we can better that communication

A lot of people have brought up doing meetings like that

You know and those are some things that Bill and I have discussed

We've discussed those options, I know there are others as well

whether it be doing kind of a video deal like this where we have video cameras set up and

That way people don't have to travel, you know, try to save some people some travel expense & things like that

So we're definitely looking at ways to better inform the driver

And as efficiently as possible. Yeah. I think it would you know, I know sometimes there's concerns of that because

There's people want to give their opinion on what they think of the current rule or where it should be or what

Shouldn't be. But I think like if I was doing it I would say we're having this tech meeting this isn't about to debate

What we think of the current rules, this is more of what

how to how we tech for the current rules & if you have any

suggestions there's a suggestion bucket at the back of the room

but this is mainly if you have any questions & then even

Video that

With a mod and the street stock or whatever some racecars there

would be probably cool because I think there's a lot of newer racers or even veteran racers that aren't really sure of like

You know, how do you do your roof slope or what's this?

I mean some of the rules can be kind of technical into you know

Today's racer isn't a chassis builder, engine builder, shock expert carb guru

body man or woman, I mean & so now some of it gets kind of

over my head and

And so be pretty cool. Anyway now it's cool that you guys are thinking about it and how to better educate racers. So, that's awesome.

Tell us what's in store for the Wissota 100 this year at the I-94 new track for the 100

Should be a huge event

But what yeah

There we have a lot of things going on. You'll see about the same format for the whole week

So we'll still start the three-wide

you'll still have the three qualifying days last chance race on Saturday & then the draw for the random draw for the

final three starting positions

Go ahead Scott. Oh, I was gonna just say, you know

I've been trying to get into the race of champions race & I

Got 7th place on the bottom it Fergus last week or two for the race of Champions race

I think that'll get me and since I won the bottom of the race, can I get into the

anyway

Just kidding. I tell you what I gotta talk to the chain of command there.

Will the race of champions race

can be kind of cool because you get people from various areas that all get in the same race

Which is I think it's really good for racing

Because we all kind of want to see I mean, I look forward to it would be really cool to see you know

Buzzy Adams and Danny Ebert

In the same race close to each other ideally not on the pole make them earn it

Unless it's me. I don't mind being on the pole because I can't seem to win even when I'm on the pole, but

anyway, just joking, but

Racing champions is Friday night or how do they do that this year Thursday and Friday

so on Thursday, we have three classes, I believe that is the

Super stocks

Street stocks and mods. I want to say & then the rest are on Friday

the other three classes. Very cool the schedules on wissota.org

website

Yup, schedules under Wissota.org website. You just have to click on Wissota events

Or hover over it. I should say and click on Wissota 100

And that'll take you right to the the schedule of events for every day of racing including

practice day on Tuesday, September 11

Cool, and so if you're a fan, can you get tickets online there?

You want to get your tickets online? Is it just at the door tickets?

Yep online tickets, you can go to the same places where the schedule can be found

Which is hover over Wissota Events click on Wissota 100

Or you can go to I94speedways.com and click Wissota 100 tickets on I-94 website as well.

How about if the fan wants a pit pass? How would a fan get a pit pass?

Is that just at the track or can you get the pit passes online? No

Those have to be purchased at the track in person at this time

That's just you know, you have to be able to sign that little piece of paper. Oh, yeah

I mean, You have to purchased those at the racetrack, you can purchase them on Tuesday for all the days

Wednesday for all the days Thursday Friday so on and so forth you

and obviously for the drivers this year. You can camp there?

I get a campsite you can do that online - or a call or something

Yep, you can get a campsite online. There's a call number to call on there if you have any issues with that

And that's right at,

they'll take that call up at I-94 Speedway and

Be able to get you squared away. If you're not sure if your camper will fit in a certain spot or not

They'll be able to answer that question for you

But for the drivers we have something cool going on this year

We have free breakfast for you guys every day of the Wissota 100 and so starting on Wednesday

You'll get free breakfast coffee and bagels

By Caribou Coffee and Einstein bagels. So that's something a little bit different that we're trying. No Jack Link's this year

Sorry guys, but it'll still be free breakfast for you guys down in the pit area. So something a little bit different

to try this year for everybody and then

Brock Gronwold will be there too. Brock will be there washing race cars - I'm

Thinking I do believe so he was gonna talk Corey the promoter he was gonna talk to him about that

That's that's their program there. They're getting that all set up. So

Another question about the race of champions race and getting Scott Bintz in it

Dan Wheeler won a Race of Champions said he would give me his spot

Can you get into it that way?

Boy, I don't know. I don't think you can get in and do that or either Scott. I got one more crack

I'm going away to Winnipeg Thursday the Red River co-op Speedway. That's my last chance to get into that bad boy

You got a lot of people pulling for you. Yeah quick sponsor announcement on Wehr's Machine they make cool stuff for race cars

from J bars to

Sliders and everything in between

rear deck height adjusters

So that way you can make sure you can easily adjust the deck your race car and many other things Chad

Wehr's all that check them out Wehrsmachine.com

Onward through with this interview, what's the biggest obstacle you've overcome this year Carson you were

Just in general if you have one that you've overcome this year and racing out of racing

I would have to say dealing with you know, kind of with some of the social media challenges that we face

Making sure things don't get out of hand on social media and make sure we try to stay positive

Whenever we're talking about racing

You can ask a lot of asphalt guys around Minnesota

What happened when things started getting negative they went from having what 4 racetracks to having 1 in the state of Minnesota

It's all about stating staying positive and what can we do do to reinforce positivity in a sport

That's been definitely the biggest question and the biggest thing that I've had on my mind since day one.

Yeah, I mean, I think sometimes being a traveling racer I think sometimes

Sometimes racers and maybe even the fans a little bit will think that

We will get mad at the calls and that kind of thing and I always think in terms of like the NFL has

instant replay and they struggle so

You know and their refs are going to school and their training or watching pay and they get it wrong

And so when you have a bunch of volunteers that are all working for free hamburgers

Then you're probably not going to get right all the time I even had a and I think sometimes that

You know probably on my advice to people and of course I

Went overboard my own self for being a racer at times and done things

I regretted or whatever and I think although when maturity have gotten a little bit better on the

talking to another driver my rule is I need to spend like

10-15 minutes in my own pit area to kind of like

just digest and realize that sometimes in a you only got to be off like a half an inch to

Get into a jackpot racing. And so

Usually it's not intentional. Yeah, sometimes there's a little over driving and

And then even on the calls, you know, I was raised in Casino last night

And I got a call I thought was inappropriate. I talked to the

official afterwards and

You know he said well we're trying to do the best we can and you know last night I felt like I had

passed five cars and they put me back to where I started &

Which maybe it's just how the cautions fell and all that whatever but I think something like that

I just talked to him one-on-one and

By the end of it we were buddies

Racing you win some you lose some

rather than just, you know blasting them on social media where it's really kind of hard but

I'm guessing when you do get that

sometimes you can get out of hand and

Doesn't really help our sport. I do think sometimes like

The controversy of life can

Scott Bintz actually

beat or win race against

Skeeter

Red moonshiner or Red Sunshine Estey. Could I actually beat him in a race?

I don't know because I only got to race him twice this year and I

Beat him once and he like destroyed me once so, but I'd like to race him again side by side

That kind of stuff, that kind of drama is fun & good for racing

because fans are like who's fast or Lance Schill or Skeeter Estey

Let's put him side by side and find out I kind of think

Schill

54% of the time could probably beat Skeeter

Anyway, but yeah, that's probably got to be tough with social media

Sometimes when things get out of hand. What's best practice there? Which what's your

Tips for promoters, fans, drivers, on hey if they're unhappy about something. What's the best way to handle it?

I would say take a day to cool off like you say if it's at the racetrack take

10-15 minutes at your own trailer cool off a little bit

And really think about the situation at hand if it was a racing call and you're a driver

I always try to think about while I

Maybe had one or two go my way that probably shouldn't have you know

When I was racing - so did I get away with a few? Yeah, I probably have

You know, not everyone's perfect

Everyone's gonna make a mistake at some point in time. So we just have to make sure that when you're on Facebook or Twitter

Instagram whatever that

we try to keep things relatively calm and keep the

Keep the sport alive and positive

What, yeah no doubt

What?

What are some things you've seen like different trend

You don't have to name a track or whatever but anything you've seen a track do or a promoter do that you thought

hey more track should do this

So one thing that I've always been asked is if I'm running here if I'm coming to your race track

What should I eat at the concession stand?

I've always been asked that question and I've always thought about it. I'm like, I don't know, you know hamburger, cheeseburger

Walking taco. I don't know I said what's your signature food item? What is

unique to your concession stand that no one else has

So I think that's something that a lot of promoters can take advantage of is coming up with something unique

That that is just off the wall crazy and everyone wants to buy it

Yeah, I think there might be something to that when I go to Humbolt

Speedway in March, they have a Frito pie, which if you don't know what it is

You're just gonna have to go there and find out

But I eat a lot of them & when I eat one right before a race

I'm untouchable. I forget to

I throw out the anchor. Anyway, you know, that's kind of cool.

Speaking of food? What's your favorite racetrack food? Oh

Man, my favorite racetrack food is the tonner at Wishek Tri-county Speedway. The tonner?

What is the tonner for the people that don't know? You've been to Wishek how have you not had the Tonner? Well, I'm 130 pounds

So I'm not

big

So it's I don't even know how big the patties are, but it's two patties of beef

Bunch of bacon a bunch of fried onions a bunch of cheese and a bunch of grease all sandwiched between two buns

And now they actually have the ton-and-a-half. I guess I just got told that the other day so. Ton and a half?

Yeah, more beef or onions more cheese more bacon more grease so

That's probably one of the most unique

Dishes I've seen. Is that one of the things where if you eat it the ton-and-a-half

They're gonna take a picture of you and put it on the wall. Is it that kind of

deal, they should because.

They maybe should. Do it and still stand up

Yeah, yeah. They maybe should it's definitely something that you want to eat if you need more left side weight that's for sure. Yeah

Is there any new driver or track out there that you'd like to give a shout out to

just because I mean, I realize there's a lot of new drivers and tracks, but just thought I'd ask question

Yeah

Definitely shout out. We have a lot of tracks that are returning but with new promoters at them this year

So that's always cool to see getting to talk with the new promoters hear their ideas

And kind of what they've experienced in their life

And hearing their life story, a meeting with them, taking them out to supper and things like that

That's definitely been

It's been a highlight of seeing some new promoters come in and then obviously the veterans it's been a great mix of trying to learn

from both of them.

Yeah, no doubt, any tips for learning like

How to get better as a driver and if you're a promoter, how do you get better?

How do you learn to be a better promoter?

Better driver or better promoters? So I guess on the driver side

from my experience, I would say

don't always worry about making more adjustments & more adjustments

Try to learn what the car is doing before you start

Wrenching on it, you know taking turns out of the left rear, putting turns in the right front

Changing this shock to this shock. So on and so forth

Try to learn what the car is doing before you start throwing all those crazy adjustments at it

And also just know that you're going to make mistakes

You're not gonna be everyone's friend. Your rookie season, you know, you might spin out in front of someone and

Cost them a win but hey, it's it's part of learning

And they might be mad at you right away

But eventually they'll come around and I just know that every day you need to learn something new on the racetrack. So.

The best advice has ever given

I think my second year in Midwest Mods and I was whining to Brian Strand

I had a Millenium Chassis from Brian Strand and I saying like this car is hard to drive &

You know, we should change something we need

And he goes, you know, Scotty

He says I watched you race and you were the fastest guy on dirt for two laps

You just need to know how to put together 20 of those, the car went around pretty good for two laps

instead of 20 and it's like oh, yeah, I guess

Anyway, so good advice. How about for a promoter?

You know, I would say make sure that the track conditions are consistent

are consistent but make sure the drivers can't easily guess them

It's always good to keep the driver guessing a little bit so it evens out the playing field, but then also better

Makes for better racing then?

Yep, You know, yeah

I mean you want to have a consistency guys

So you don't have one heavier race track one week and a super dry slick racetrack next week now, obviously

That can't be helped some nights. If you have rain a half hour before the show for an hour before the show

The track is going to be a little bit heavier than it normally would be so sometimes it can't be helped and

So it's about staying calm. You're always gonna have a driver mad

But I guess as far as advice I think I'm still learning a lot too

So I always have something new to learn and I always call on the guys like Randy Queensland

Dave Wise, you know

The guys up in

Up at a Gandhi Claw Speedway, you know, I callin a lot of guys to to always learn something new

And then of course Terry Voeltz, he's been around a dirt racetrack his whole life. I think so

I always have to learn something new

I always say like I told you before if I don't learn something new in a day

Then it was a not a successful day

So I always gotta learn something new about either the racetrack

the racing business sports business in general or just business in general, so.

One of the things when I was

Getting my start. I worked for a company called and Agricover and

Eventually, I became the National Sales Manager

but I would go out all over the US and Canada and I would see how people did things around the product but then in

collectively you

would see a neat thing here and neat thing there, a way if someone did it over here and I

Could take it back to the headquarters and kind of kick out best practices

and share them with everyone because I could get the

perspective of how they did it on the East Coast and the south of West Coast this big shop little shop, whatever and I think

I'm happy to see you hitting a lot of different racetracks because I think sometimes you could

When you get to see different things that different tracks do that are cool

I mean obviously some things are unique to attract but there's also like some general best practices, you know, I think in general

Racing needs to modernize a little bit dirt track racing on

you know getting your tickets online and you know, some of those kind of things and even

But that being said, I think the whole key to anything is keep learning and and that's cool to see

What advice would you -

Goal of the interview was around 30 minutes or so and I kind of lost track of time because it's kind of like

You and I are just having a one-on-one

conversation so - two quick more questions and we'll wrap it up there was

What advice would you give to a racer that was struggling a little bit with

You know, maybe a little frustrated and

Right, I would say

Stay calm

Stay calm and talk to other drivers throughout the pit area

if you're struggling

Who an ill-handling car?

That's definitely something to talk to your chassis builder about or maybe the guy that you bought the car from

Maybe he has some sheets that you can use and whatnot

and

I would also say to

Always remember that you're gonna learn something new when you go to that racetrack

you're gonna learn that there might be a little patch of rocks down at the bottom of turn 3, so

You know that stays there if it's still there next week

I got to remember to go in above that or else it's gonna get loose on me

You know

Like you're gonna blow the cushion off if you're racing at a track like Brown County Speedway

Where it builds up a nice cushion on the high side

You're gonna go in above that cushion a couple times and it's gonna get frustrating. It's gonna get really frustrating but

Just keep trying something new

but also stay within your limits if you know that, you know, maybe right now I'm racing 4 wide with some people and I'm

Getting lapped and I don't really have the experience to be here

I know it's not that bad just to maybe back off a little bit. Let them guys go

hate to say back off in a sport but

Sometimes that's how you learn is watching those older guys and the guys that have been around it made a ton of laps

So I think that there's a lot of ways that you can

bring that frustration level down and not just talking through things and

calling up our tech people, our tech people are very great and

knowledgeable about race cars and a lot of them have been around a long time and

They might be able to give you a little tip or something that they saw in your car when they were looking at it

So it doesn't hurt to call people. Our phones are always on right now

In fact, I just see mine hanging over there, and I'm I'll let it go. I'll call back

Yeah, it's kind of interesting on all of the different things that go into how to improve you know

I watched a lot of video guys like Shane Sabraski and Dave Cane and you know

The one thing about those guys, they always finish races. They always finish they always finished a lot of times you'll see a guy

Blow it in there a little maybe wild and they'll kind of back off

and then just get them the next corner or the next lap and

Where there's kind of an art to it and that, you know, sometimes it's not

Sometimes you do have to slow down to go fast. And sometimes it's just keeping the car straight

Sometimes the new guys I work with always suggest and you know work on

Making consistent laps race your own race

if someone passes you don't in a race your own car because if you if

You you pass if they pass you and then you kick it down

Trying to keep up with them. You might get even slower that's been my experience. And so I mean those are all things that you

You know let the guy

Drive it in too hard and then you slow up early and then you pass them because they're still collecting it, you know

all of those are all things that I

think you

will time and and but also

Watching some of the guys that are really good

too and even asking them questions, you know, what are the

I'd ask Cody Skytland one time like man. How do you drive that wall like that? That's just amazing he goes

Well Scott, I'd rather hit the wall from this far away

Then this far away. It's like oh that makes sense

anyway

anything

That you'd like to share that I didn't ask that I should ask the Wissota racing community, drivers, fans

Before we wrap it up here

Yeah, I mean

Here it at Wissota auto racing. We want to hear everyone, we want to listen

but like I said always try to keep it positive we're gonna hear the negatives and

We're gonna see things we read everything that we see

Nothing gets past me. I try not to let anything get past me

I try to read absolutely everything I can I'll randomly just pull up a

Driver's profile on facebook and if I can find them and see how their weekend went

So don't be surprised if you get a call for me randomly on a Monday saying hey, how'd your weekend go?

You know, it's all stuff that I like to do and I want to keep an open line of communication

And try to be here for everyone as much as possible a

Quick question going back to the race of Champions race. Do you think Wissota should have like a fan favorite to do that

They led into that race that didn't win a race of Champions raced & still won like 11 12 13 times in the season. Oh

That would actually be something kind of fun. We can do it sort of like the all-star race in NASCAR. Yeah, I thought they

Put it all out there on Facebook

And oh, yeah more Facebook live things that way that two people tried to build up their own fan boat, you know

I'd probably lose that too. But

Anyway, I appreciate you coming on the show share a little bit about it. I'm excited for the Wissota 100

Thank you

And if you

For those listening if you'd like to see anything added to the show, let me know. This is kind of a

Like a lot of things I do in life. I just try them and learn as I go

We're getting a little bit better on this. We've been drivers up to this point. Now. We're

doing kind of from the promoter end.

Quick sponsor announcement want to thank all our sponsors Red Headed Rebel Brew Coffee & Wehr's Machine.
