Leaders of both Koreas to hold summit in Pyongyang for three days from Sept. 18th - Duration: 3:09.
The two Koreas have agreed to hold a summit on September 18th in Pyongyang.
Let's head right over to our Blue House correspondent Shin Se-min for more details on this.
Se-min, tell us more.
The date is set.
South Korea's special envoy Chung Eui-yong confirmed the dates for the next big event
between the two Koreas.
For two nights and three days,... from Tuesday, September 18th,... until Thursday, September
20th,...
President Moon will be in Pyongyang holding his third encounter with the North Korean
leader Kim Jong-un.
Addressing the nation after having met with the North Korean leader in Pyongyang yesterday,...
the presidential special envoy said a high-level meeting between the two sides will be held
at the inter-Korean truce village of Panmunjom to sort out the details of the summit, such
as the formalities, communication and news coverage of the event.
The envoy also said that the regime's leader Kim had reaffirmed his commitment to denuclearize
his regime,... and agreed to closely cooperate with South Korea and the U.S.
Chung, who also doubles as the South's top security adviser, said the two Koreas have
agreed to continue efforts to ease military tensions.
And about that inter-Korean liaison office that had been put on hold over lackluster
progress,... the two sides have agreed to open the office before the summit this month.
A lot to digest Jiyoon,... but the bottom line,... the relations between the two Koreas
seem to be on track.
And Semin,... watchers have said that North Korean leader Kim Jong-un might possibly attend
the UN General Assembly in New York,... but that's unlikely according to the envoy who
spoke with him yesterday-- correct?
You're right.
Disappointing news for many-- who had anticipated that Kim Jong-un would be making his international
debut in New York attending the UN General Assembly,... possibly opening doors for a
three-way summit with Presidents Moon Jae-in and Donald Trump.
But the envoy said that given the timing of the summit preparation, it is unlikely that
Kim Jong-un will go to New York this time.
But I want to zoom in on the regime leader's commitment to denuclearize.
Take a listen to this first.
"North Korea expressed its frustration that the regime's efforts to denuclearize have
not been received as good will-- noting the dismantlement of the North's only known nuclear
test site in Punggye-ri has left the country with no means to stage further nuclear tests."
The South Korean envoy quoted Kim Jong-un and said that he hoped to completely denuclearize
the regime and put an end to the hostile relationship between Pyongyang and Washington-- before
Trump's first term ends in January 2021.
So again,.. it definitely does seem like a development in the right direction,... not
just for South Korea but for the U.S. as well.

Sarà l'avvicinarsi della stesura della legge di Bilancio e l'impellenza di dismettere i toni da campagna elettorale in vista dell'esame dei mercati e istituzioni europee, oppure le reciproche minacce viaggiate sull'asse Palazzo Chigi - Viale dell'Astronomia
Certo è che l'atteggiamento "responsabile" dell'esecutivo Conte assunto alla fine della pausa estiva sta riscuotendo successo non tanto nel popolo quanto nell'establishment: i mercati apprezzano, come dimostra lo spread in rapida discesa nelle ultime ore e il rendimento dei Btp tornato sotto il 3%; Confindustria anche, soprattutto per le parole del vicepremier Matteo Salvini affidate proprio al giornale degli industriali: "Faremo una legge di bilancio seria e nel rispetto di tutti i vincoli Ue", ha detto il leader del Carroccio al Sole 24 Ore, dopo aver partecipato al vertice economico leghista in vista della manovra
Vertice da cui è emerso un approccio più accomodante nei confronti delle regole imposte da Bruxelles sui conti pubblici, dopo mesi passati a minacciare lo sforamento del 3% del rapporto deficit/Pil
Sì alla quota 100 per dare un colpo alla legge Fornero sulle pensioni, assaggio della flat tax solo per le partite Iva (tradotto: l'estensione del regime forfettario ai fatturati fino a 100mila euro come già largamente circolato), un abbozzo di reddito di cittadinanza, con la riforma dei centri per l'impiego, la pace fiscale
"Il lavoro non si crea per legge ma aiutando chi lo produce", ha detto Salvini
Parole dolci rivolte agli industriali che accompagnano il messaggio di non voler "scassare i conti"
Plaude Vincenzo Boccia, leader di Confindustria: "Le dichiarazioni di apertura di Salvini fanno ben sperare al nostro mondo
Oggi mi ha cambiato l'agenda. Mi sembra che le sue dichiarazioni vadano verso una dimensione di grande responsabilità"
Per capire quanto sia cambiata l'agenda di Viale dell'Astronomia basti ricordare che fino a poco tempo fa le minacce degli industriali di scendere in piazza a manifestare erano all'ordine del giorno, dopo l'approvazione del vituperato decreto Dignità
Per capire quanto sia cambiata l'agenda della quota leghista del Governo, invece, è utile rammentare la sottile minaccia lanciata dallo stesso Salvini alla festa del Carroccio di Alzano Lombardo domenica scorsa: "La cosa incredibile è che Confindustria sta in piedi perché la maggioranza delle quote viene pagata da aziende pubbliche
A uno cattivo - e io non lo sono - potrebbe venir voglia di dire a quelle aziende pubbliche di uscire da Confindustria"
L'uscita, per dirne alcune, di Leonardo, Rai, Enel dall'associazione sarebbe un colpo durissimo per Viale dell'Astronomia, forse letale, ma certamente di non facile attuazione
Ma tant'è: settantadue ore dopo, è tutto alle spalle. Con Luigi Di Maio che segue a ruota il pari ruolo della Lega alla fine del vertice a Palazzo Chigi con il premier Conte e il ministro dell'Economia Tria sulla legge di Bilancio: "L'obiettivo è realizzare le misure economiche, non sfidare l'Europa sui conti"
Appaiono nel lessico degli esponenti del Governo parole come "stabilità", espressioni come "rassicurare i mercati", "rispetto dei vincoli"
Insomma, per il vicepremier leghista il contratto di governo va realizzato in maniera "graduale", spalmato almeno su un triennio "come previsto dal Def"
Un modo per dire che il Governo è "destinato a durare" o forse per non riconoscere che "tutto e subito" non si può fare senza far insorgere mercati e Bruxelles
E con il nuovo atteggiamento del Governo, Confindustria è pronta a lasciarsi alle spalle anche i vecchi rancori: il decreto dignità "come abbiamo detto non incrementa né riduce l'occupazione, pertanto è inutile parlarne
È passato, chiudiamo questa parentesi. Non lo condividiamo e non abbiamo alcuna voglia di continuare a polemizzare su questa questione"
Scordato il passato, il futuro ha come priorità le grandi opere e le grandi aziende
Nella sua intervista al Sole, Salvini ha rassicurato sul Tap, e lo ha fatto dopo aver ricevuto al Viminale Tony Blair, ex premier britannico assunto dal Presidente dell'Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev come consulente per il progetto del gasdotto transadriatico
Una grande opera che, com'è noto, non trova d'accordo i 5 Stelle da sempre contrari
La soluzione in seno alla maggioranza per ora è rimandata. Mentre si fa più concreta la possibilità di uscire dall'impasse sull'Ilva
Il direttore generale di Confindustria Marcella Panucci è fiduciosa che un accordo tra il Ministero dello Sviluppo e ArcelorMittal possa essere raggiunto nelle prossime ore: "Sarebbe un segnale molto importante per chiudere la vicenda", ha dichiarato a Formiche
net. Le decisioni spettano a Luigi Di Maio, leader del Movimento 5 Stelle che al momento è tra i due contraenti del Governo il più inviso agli industriali
Diversamente dalla Lega che pare ora essere tornata nelle grazie di Confindustria, come riconosce la stessa Panucci: "Ci sono state delle dichiarazioni responsabili da parte del vicepremier Salvini, che vanno nella direzione che noi da tempo sosteniamo: rispetto dei conti pubblici, non solo perché ce lo chiede l'Europa, ma perché è un atto di responsabilità verso noi stessi e i nostri figli nonché un indirizzo della legge di bilancio verso misure per la crescita economica"
