- When you picture Norway,

you undoubtedly imagine the lush, green fjords,

Vikings, and the many beautiful hikes that you can do,

but some of the best things to do in Norway

might not be what you expected.

My name is Cody Buffinton.

I'm an adventure seeking world traveler,

and today I've partnered with

the Tourism Board of Bodo to show you the top things to do

when traveling Norway in the summer.

Coming to Norway, I knew that I had to see

this natural phoenomenum that occurs at Saltstraumen,

just 10 kilometers outside of Bodo,

the world's strongest tidal current forms every six hours.

This happens when the tide from the ocean

tries to fill the fjord creating a whirlpool or a maelstrom.

We arrived early and decided to try our luck

at catching lunch.

Today while it's calm, we're going to be fishing.

We're trying to find the most common fish probably

which is the pollack, right, the pollack?

- That's correct, the pollack.

- [Cody] And if we catch it, then we're going to

cook it up and eat it.

- That's also correct - [Cody] For lunch.

- [Raymond] For lunch.

- Now if we don't catch it, do we just starve? (laughs)

- Then we're going to go to town and eat hamburger (laughs).

- (laughs) Either way, it's a win win.

- [Raymond] Perfect.

- Thank you.

This is actually pretty amazing.

Whoa, you can see how fast the current is taking it.

Look at my line, it's all the way out there.

You got to constantly be reeling, constantly,

so it does give you much time to catch a fish.

You gotta keep just throwing it out there,

see what you can catch.

There's plenty of fish in the sea (laughs).

Just keep that in mind.

I don't fish very often, but when I do, I prefer Norway.

And after many unsuccessful attempts,

we thought it was best to try and catch it

with our bare hands.

Uh (laughs).

and then of course, sour cream.

- [Cody] It's like you're making your own sandwich.

- [Raymond] Yeah, yeah, sour cream and mustard.

There you have it.

- Ooh, (crunches food).

(laughs) That is so good.

Wow, it's like a really light taco.

Cheers to that butter.

So we pretty much killed this lunch,

and now we're about to have some dessert.

That's the chocolate?

- [Fisherman] Yeah, that's the chocolate.

- [Cody] It looks like a crystal ball.

I've never seen anything like this.

It looks like a bouncy ball.

- [Cody's Friend] Yeah, it does.

- So this chocolate right here is chocolate from France

in salt from this place right here, Saltstraumen.

So I guess that's why it's kind of spirally,

and is meant to look like this right here,

so it's kind of fitting.

(crunches candy) Whoa, dude.

What's on the inside?

I could eat these all day.

What are they, like $100 a box, probably?

- No, no.

- [Cody's Friend] 50.

- (laughs)

So now we have come out to Svartisen, this glacier here.

It's actually the second biggest one in all of Norway,

and it translates directly to black ice,

which I guess we're going to find out in a minute.

But right now, we are taking this boat over here,

and we're going to be going to find a moose right now

where apparently, you can kiss this moose.

Uh, she doesn't like this.

your feet in, and having experienced walking on ice

in New England, it's usually you're just slipping.

So this is like such a change.

- So right now, our tour guide,

he's putting these needles into the ground

so like if we fall, this rope, this harness

is gonna just stay nailed to those needles

so we don't die (laughs).

- This is insane looking down there.

It's a form of gymnastics with lots of action,

lots of bouncing.

My act includes music,

Música Ligera.

When you listen to the music,

it makes you feel.

I like Cirque du Soleil because the team is very big.

It has someone for everything.

That's why it's great to work here

and have the opportunity to do what I love.

Hi, I'm Zendra Tabasco

I've been in Buenos Aires

for about seven months now.

I came here to help create Sep7imo Día.

ZENDRA TABASCO, (MEXICO) HAIR HANG SPECIALIST

I think I started hair hanging

a little over nine years ago.

This is a very old traditional circus technique.

It's something I've been discovering

quite on my own.

I really like the freedom

of what I do.

I come here, to Luna Park,

to prepare for the show.

Training, warm up,

is "Ciudad de la Furia."

I think it has a lot of power

and goes really well with the performance.

This isn't the first time I'm working with the circus.

It all began in 2013 when I received

the year's Cirque du Soleil award

for most innovative performance.

What I like most about working

at a company like Cirque du Soleil

is the professionalism

that goes into every aspect.

My job consists of three stages:

The first is the quick set,

where I put backstage right

all the costumes that will be needed during the show,

with quick changes.

The second is to help

with quick changes during the show,

and the third is to get the costumes

ready for the show the next day.

Quick changes involve,

for example, changing a wig,

an accessory or a mask,

or simply helping acrobats

do up a zipper,

or whatever else they might need.

Always being there to help them.

I hope the work we do here backstage

will make for a great show.

Hi, my name is Cristóbal Lanzagorta.

I'm in charge of the automation department

for the Sep7timo Día show.

The automation department is responsible

for all the motorization

that makes artists fly

and that moves components

such as the 2 ton dome

like they're supposed to.

The dome is the most complex of the components we have

since it uses six different motors to move.

Artists fly using three high speed winches,

which is how they manage

to do tricks in the air

and what makes the flying so breathtaking.

We have two other components: the curtain,

which we can project on,

and earbuds,

which let us communicate with the main character

and get him or her out of the cage.

I hope all this will make the show

fun for you to watch.

Enjoy the show!

Hi, my name is Igor Arefiev,

I am Head Coach of SEP7IMO DIA.

As Head Coach, I have to supervise all the acts,

acrobatics and hand balancing

or banquine disciplines.

The music of Soda Stereo, of course,

it's very upbeat and,

most of the time, it was choreographer's job

to make sure that artist interpret

this music organically,

and they move and do their skills

according to certain moments in these songs

that corresponds to the either lyrics or the musical piece.

Hopefully, the job that I do

is increasing the level of acrobatics

and enjoyment for the audience around Latin America.

My name is Federico Bru

and I work as a wardrobe assistant

for Cirque du Soleil's Sep7imo Día.

My title is Assistant Head, Props,

and I'm in charge of props for the show.

A lot of work went into

the Buenos Aires workshops,

which included looking for materials,

trying things, showing them to the circus directors,

creating other things, and so on and so forth.

It was a lot of back and forth.

This is a very, very energetic show.

You can't help but look everywhere,

at everything that's happening. And, the music

is fantastic.

They gave it a really interesting spin,

and the sound is

great, just great.

I think it's a very enjoyable show.

What If Another Ice Age Happened? - Duration: 6:15.

Hello Internet - what's going on - and welcome back to the most inquisitive channel on YouTube,

Life's Biggest Questions - the place where we set our compass to True North, hitch on

our snow cleats and take up the mammoth trek of an Arctic apocalypse.

Today - as per usual, I'll be your host Jack Finch - as we say goodbye to sunshine,

cower under the cover of a meteorological meltdown, spark up the furnace a pray to high

heaven that we don't lose another finger - and cautiously ask the question - What If

Another Ice Age Happened?

Roll the clip.

Yeah - that clips probably a little bit of an over exaggeration - Ice Ages don't just

happen overnight, and they definitely don't just happen over a matter of minutes - but

you get the picture.

Technically speaking - we're in an Ice Age right this minute.

Before we get into that though, you know the drill by now - if you're a fan of this video

- or just LBQ in general, go ahead and hit that thumbs up button - because you know we

won't hold it against you.

Also, be sure to share this video with your nearest and dearest - perhaps even that special

person that you'd choose to wait out an Ice Age with.

Aww.

So what exactly is an ice age, anyway?

Or at least - how do they happen?

Well strap on your science helmets, because we're going to find out, in recent history

- that is.

Because, you know, the last /proper/ Ice Age finished like 12'000 years ago.

In short - it's a long and complicated process.

500 years ago, though, we saw a period of low solar activity - termed the Maunder Minimum

- a phrase coined after astronomers Walter and Annie Maunder discovered that the planets

axis was affected by a shortage of sunspots between 1645 and 1715 - and thus resulted

in a mini ice-age.

In a full blown ice age, though - this process takes thousands of years to even begin.

It's triggered when summer temperatures in the northern hemisphere fail to rise above

freezing for a number of years.

The cause of which is generally up for debate.

Milankovitch cycles, tectonic plates, fluctuations in ocean currents - that all potentially result

in the same thing.

Meaning in short, that winter snowfall doesn't melt - and starts to build up - compressing

over time and glaciating into ice sheets.

Over thousands of years these ice sheets build up - and before you know it, it's starting

to feel pretty damn chilly.

For the last million years or so - this has been happening roughly every 100 thousand

years - and guess what?

Technically speaking, we're due another cold snap right about now.

The difference?

Yeah - humanity in general and our damn pesky methane emissions.

It's a stark fact that humanity's industrial society has been warming the planet to an

unprecedented scale.

Since 1998 our climate has accumulated 2.6 billion atomic bombs worth of heat - and it's

still getting hotter.

Generally speaking - it's considered by many people in the scientific community evidence

enough that we may have accidentally thwarted the next ice age - but at what cost?

The Arctic permafrost is degrading, the Arctic sea ice is melting - and the Greenland ice

sheet is losing its mass at an accelerated rate.

It's a song that is less ice - and more fire.

But let's say we've got it all wrong and we throw science straight out of the window

- let's say an Ice Age is looming it's frozen head just around the corner - and in the next

50 years, the planet is a frigid imposter of its former self, and things can only get

colder.

How would we fare?

What would the population look like?

Without a doubt, it would have some pretty insane consequences for our civilization.

Irreversible consequences that would change the course of mankind's future.

Kicking off - it'd be the obvious, a damn sight colder than it is now.

All your friends that complain that they're chilly, even though it's warm as hell?

Yeah, they'll probably be dead unless they could acclimatise to some pretty negative

temperatures.

In all likelihood - we'd begin to see major changes in the Northern hemisphere - particularly

areas like Canada and the United States, Greenland, the whole of Northern Asia and most of Northern

Europe.

Huge regions inhabited by millions of people would become completely and utterly uninhabitable

- covered in thick ice sheets and a savage, frigid climate.

What would that do to the population?

Well - quite a bit.

If not during the initial stages of a completely different planet, the population of planet

Earth would inevitably dwindle to a much smaller, more colder bunch.

This place, here - Ny-Alesund in Svalbard - the Northernmost town in the world?

Poof, gone.

Covered in Ice like a White Walker version of Vesuvius.

Grise Fiord in Nunavut, the Northernmost settlement in Canada?

Poof, gone.

At the best of times, these habitats are a grueling, merciless place to live - in an

Ice Age they'd be relegated to the encroaching ice of an apocalyptic snowdown.

For the survivors of an Ice Age, our infrastructure would be a thing of the past.

It would be down to a complete coin toss as to whether we could support our remaining

humans.

For the most part - a lot less agricultural land would be available - and by a lot less,

we mean almost none.

It would be very difficult to support the human population purely on the basis of there

being too many mouths to feed and not enough growable crop yield.

And as we know from history - a lack of resources generally equals conflict - and then we haven't

just got the weather to contend with, but full blown arctic warfare.

In the last mini ice-age, temperatures dropped so low that the River Thames in London froze

on at least seven different occasions.

With its major river kaput - London's commerce ground to a halt - and thousands of people

in the surrounding cities and countryside died.

Farm animals were wiped out completely - and the wind was so cold that it cracked tree

trunks.

Yeah - we can expect much more of that in this particular scenario.

Forget Pumpkin-spiced Frappuccino's, Keeping Up With The Kardashians and KSI vs Logan Paul

- hell, even forget mowing your lawn or enjoying a leisurely canoe ride across the harbour.

Even mowing your lawn would become a thing of the past.

There'd be two interests that everyone would be tuned into - keeping warm, and not starving.

Thankfully - we've got thousands of years of human ingenuity on our side, so maybe the

last 200 thousand years of human evolution have all been a warm up - before the big freeze.

Well, what do you guys think?

Could you survive another Ice Age?

What do you think would happen to the species as a whole?

Jacksonville, Florida: ¡Bienvenidos al Sur! - Duration: 14:37.

Hello fellow travelers!

We are in Jacksonville, Florida, USA!

You might ask, what are you doing there?

One of my hobbies is having language exchanges with foreigners who are learning Spanish.

One of them is Richard.

We took advantage of the opportunity of taking a roadtrip around the Deep South of the USA

to meet him and his family.

In fact, we are going to stay in their home for a few days!

So, we are going to live the real American way of life!

For example, we are in a subdivision that is like the movies, with their lawn, their flags…

We saw a sign with the "yard of the month"!

This is Richard's house!

Hello fellow travelers! Welcome!

This is the friend with whom I talk every Friday for one hour. Half an hour English, the other half Spanish…

his Spanish level is really good!

The first visit will be Saint Augustine.

It's around one hour driving distance from Jacksonville. It is the first town founded by Europeans in the USA.

When the Spanish naval officer Pedro Menéndez founded Saint Augustine, it had nine forts built of wood.

But, due to the attacks of the English pirates, they had to build Castillo de San Marcos of stone.

They took the Stone from Anastasia Island, opposite Saint Augustine, crossing the Bridge of Lions.

Another funny thing is this flag, flown throughout Saint Augustine,

Florida State flag because it is the Burgundy flag, pretty famous in Spanish history!

Names of the streets will remind you of its Spanish history.

But we have to say that they have made a mess with the spelling...

We are going to have lunch in an authentic bbq house.

As tonight we have a dinner, we don't want to eat too much now.

But it's difficult not to eat too much in the States.

Look! We ordered just ONE main course for sharing among the three of us!

What do you think about the iced tea cup that they gave me?

They don't want me to dehydrate… but not just today, throughout my whole vacation!

If you want to feel like an American, you have to walk in the streets with a big plastic cup with some liquid in it.

It doesn't matter the liquid. It can be coffee, lemonade, iced tea… but a gigantic cup…

Now we are driving across the Bridge of Lions to Anastasia Island.

It's hot!

Well, our friends, we are going to end this day having dinner with

Bill, Judy and some other Hadden family's friends.

Bill is a real wine lover. But, we had to make a deal with him… we had a challenge…

we will try his great wines but… we have to cook a typical Spanish dish.

So we thought in of a dish that is not very difficult and that for which it is easy to find the ingredients here.

So, Spanish potato tortilla.

We have some experience…

Yes, we cooked one in our whole life…

No, it's not true… I made several, some years ago… and I made two tortillas some weeks ago,

yes, with my mother, in order to practice…

Tortilla with onion, of course!

How is it going?

It's going well!

The issue is that they have smaller potatoes and eggs and than we are used to in Spain,

and I had to change the recipe.

I think it is too light and liquid because I put in too much egg…

well… they don't know…

This is a key moment because we have to turn it over.

Buff… 700 kilos of potatoes, 200 kilos of eggs… a heavy pan and just with this plate…

We are a team!

Our tortilla passed the test!

Let's see how it works… we rehearsed it but…

Good bye, fellow travelers!

It's 7am but I can't sleep anymore… we went to bed at 10pm and look how sunny it is…

How the rest of the world can survive without shutters? I can't understand it…

We want to live a typical Southern Sunday. There is nothing more American on Sunday than going to church.

Yes, but here the service is at 10am, not at noon like in Spain… why? Because they have lunch at noon!

This church is Southern Baptist. It's huge! Today for example, more than 800 people can be inside!

What do you think about the service?

It was good. It was very inspiring, the pastor was really kind… the music, the orchestra and the choir…

By the way, the Hadden family belongs to the choir, so…

I was really happy with the words on the screen. It was like karaoke…

Maybe it's not very polite to call it karaoke…

Yes, maybe it is a bit irreverent, but, it's just to easily explain it to you… if you see the lyrics, people sing more!

After the service, the custom is to have lunch with the community friends.

By the way, if I do up the shirt, I look like…

Forrest Gump!

Put it more latin style…

You know… lunch consists of Ceasar salads, hamburgers, pizzas…

nothing compared with our Sunday lunch of paella, cocido…

We ordered two hamburgers and they look yummy!

Do you know what root beer is? "zarzaparrilla!

Los Pitufos (The Smurfs) drank it!

It seems to be very sweet, doesn't it? Like Cherry Coke…

We are visiting Jacksonville city center.

Continuing with Religion, 80% of the American believers are Protestant, followed by Catholic.

We are now in the "Cathedral District". In this quarter there is a Methodist church,

Presbyterian, Episcopal and Catholic.

This sign that you are seeing, "tailgaters parking", refers to the back door of the pick-up trucks.

On match day, they open that door and they take out a lot of food, drinks, even barbecue grills!

So, they celebrate the pre-match with their friends and family.

There is a big field with these tailgate parking areas. It's usual to reserve it for the whole season.

Discovering more funny things about the history of Jacksonville.

The main center of silent movies in the world was here, the Norman Studios,

before Hollywood and L.A were the place of the movies with sound.

For example, some of the most important movies of Laurel & Hardy were filmed here!

Springfield is Jacksonville's historic city center and one of the few quarters that wasn't burnt in the 1901 fire.

Richard, tell us… we are entering Amelia island. Why is it so special?

It's very beautiful, there are a lot of expensive houses and an amazing beach.

It has also a fort, right?

Yes, Fort Clinch.

We are on Fernandina Beach, on Amelia island.

It's one of the favorite spots of American people for their vacation.

It's 40 minutes north from Jacksonville. You have to follow Fort Clinch signs.

Watch out with the road. We saw a deer, but they warn you that there can be turtles, alligators…

a lot of animals, so, be careful!

I forgot my swimsuit!

The name of Fort Clinch comes from General Clinch.

He was crucial during the war against the Seminole Indians in this part of Florida.

This fort was also pretty important during the Civil War.

I'm reading a notice from the Headquarters: "Soldiers must take a bath on Saturday and Wednesday."

And, "only "respectable" women can be hired for the laundry."

We stopped in a restaurant called Sandollar. It was high time to drink a beer!

This one is from Jacksonville, its name is Intuition. Look how nice this place is. It's like a fishermen restaurant…

Our last stop of this day is Kingsley Plantation. Its name comes from Zephaniah Kingsley, one of its owners.

His story is very interesting: he bought a 13-year-old slave, Anita. He married her.

She was very respected because she helped her husband with the managing of the property.

They could get married because the Spanish law at that time allowed the emancipation

and the rights of the emancipated slaves.

But, when Englishmen took control of this area, as they didn't have this right of emancipation,

Anita and Zephaniah moved to Haiti.

Their two children stayed in Jacksonville and in fact, they married rich white owners of this area.

Ana's house and slaves' houses were built with a material called tabby.

It's a kind of cement composed by shells of oysters, mussels… It's incredible how hard it is,

because these buildings have survived for more than 200 years!

They say tabby is a mix of three cultures: the Spanish, the African and the American Indian.

We can see the slaves' hamlets outside the plantation.

They are also built with tabby and it's impressive how well-built they are!

Spanish moss, by the way, I don't know why it has such a name… it didn't come from Spain. It's a kind of parasite…

I don't know what Americans want to tell us…

Spanish moss is something typical from the South. It's really beautiful and gives a mysterious look to the trees.

Well, fellow travelers!, we end up this trip to Jacksonville and the Hadden family.

Now we rented a car that is going to bring us new adventures in at the South of the US.

We are going to post amazing videos about towns and zones hardly known to the Spanish audience,

more used to the Western coast. Be sure to follow us!

Thank you very much, Richard, family and friends, for your kindness and hospitality.

For people like us, who like travelling,

having the opportunity to share experiences with local people is great.

It's amazing to be able to see the country and their culture like locals instead of like tourists.

It was a magical experience!
