Greece is a country that makes you want to come back!
For the capital - Athens...
For the seven seas and hundreds of islands that would take a thousand of weekends to see.
A divine weekend on the islands in the Ionian Sea is waiting for me.
While I will see the ancient Athens.
Let our big Greek weekend begin!
There is a free museum in Athens airport. Right away, the tourists know that they are guests in the land of Heracles, Zeus and Apollo.
I have visited 94 airports during my time with Reloaded. I have seen installations, 3-D projections and things of that nature.
I have never seen a museum inside an airport terminal. Greek land is packed with antiques.
The construction workers are the most successful archeologists in Greece.
This exposition was discovered in the foundation ditch during the construction of this airport.
None of the artifacts can be sold, traded or exported. While they bring joy to archeologists, these findings are every builder's nightmare.
Each discovery has to be documented, registered and approved by the Ministry of Archeology.
As a result, the construction that was supposed to take five years to complete can last up to fifteen.

Last time the dirt, garbage and druggies of Athens shocked Zhanna.
Zhanna: Hot concrete, the sun. Very deserted.
Let us see what changed over seven years.
Athens are still in the economic ditch.
The shutters of closed stores became the canvas for street artists.
Athens has more graffiti than any other capital city in the world.
These graffiti can help you trace the Greek crisis' entire history.
How the first clashes with police happened, the first arrests, the decline of salaries, the attitude towards migrants.
This dog took part in the clashes on the side of the police. Her tag says "loukaniko" which means "sausage".
The symbolism is that the dog sold itself for sausage, like the people who supported the authorities during the confrontation.
Dear Greeks please do not get offended, but since we were away, more graffiti appeared, more stores were shut down and there is even more protestors.
Greece is a resort for millionaires and celebrities. Among those who come here on vacation are
Kim Kardashian, Rihanna and even members of the Royal family – Prince Charles with his wife Camilla.
Having money gives you plenty of opportunities. A rich person can cruise on a yacht between islands, enjoy the splendor and have as much fun as possible!
First stop of my cruise is one of the most beautiful places in all of Greece – Navagio Beach.
This is truly unbelievable!
Navagio is a pocket with a snow-white beach that even has a rusty shipwreck carcass.
Add emerald water and you have yourself an ideal backdrop for a perfect vacation.
I do not know if you can see it on your screens, but the color of the water is incredibly blue.
Almost as if they dropped a can of paint! I have never seen that color of the sea! The sandy beige rocks.
Mother Nature had a field day!

This is not a yellow sand that we are used to, but a polished snow-white pebble!
These cliffs are incredible!
They look so mighty and grandiose! Almost as if someone took a scoop out of a pudding.
What do you have left? A lodge. A semi-circular hole.
This place is glorious!
I was silly enough to think that another 1,500 tourists would not want to visit this divine spot as well.
This will become the world's most occupied beach in a minute, so I gotta jet!

No other sea matches the color of the Ionic Sea. Shades of blue range from light blue to light purple.
Can water this clear be real?
The secret is the pebble at the sea's bottom.
If this were sludge and slime, the color would be the same as in the Dnipro River.
I think places like these were meant to fully reload your body and soul.
Most of the tourists that come to Athens go straight to the city center and this is what they see.
By the looks of it, people are determined in their intentions.
Could a peaceful demonstration erupt into a conflict with the authorities?
All that I hope for is that there are no bottles, tires or Molotov cocktails flying around.
The whole city is marching judging by the number of people gathered here.
The columns reach beyond horizon. An immense amount of people are shouting and waving flags.
Looks pretty serious.
The tourists that come to downtown Athens usually get discouraged.
Not to worry! I will show you some of the must visit spots.
Monastiraki is the historic area of the city. It has everything that amuses tourists – street musicians, temples and ancient ruins.
Vendors from all over Athens used to flock here. Not much has changed since then.
Souvenir junk replaced the fish and olives though. Magnets, hats and theatrical masks.
Without even noticing, I found myself in the neighboring quarter of Plaka. All of a sudden, I just need to sit down.
How can I not? Look at how neat it is around me! Plaka is a quarter located on a ladder.
People sit on the steps besides walking on them. This area stays cool and provides plenty of shade for cafegoers.
Anafiotika is another lovely nearby neighborhood.
These homes look like they have been made from sugar!
Sometimes the streets turn into narrow corridors.
Bright and colorful windows and doors. Ivey grows on the walls.
The air smells like oleanders.
Everywhere you can hear the cats purring with a Greek accent.
The workers from Anafi Island built these quarters. They built a smaller copy of their homeland to keep it simpler and cooler.
Now you have an idea of which areas in Athens you need to see.
There are no restaurants in the open sea. This is why I have my own chef on board.
Clients come up with a menu they want and then the chef stacks the fridge.
The average daily price for his services usually amounts to 300 euros.
My dinner tonight is – grilled calamari, octopus, shrimp fried in wine with cream sauce, tortilla salad with
pomegranate, caprice classic, champignon risotto with parmesan, cashew risotto with mulberry and whitefish fillet pate.

I already envy you Nastya! My dinner consisted of a tiny salad, a spinach pie
and a slice of a banana bread with a strawberry. All for a hefty twelve euros.
Seeing sunsets in the new cities is an untold ritual at Heads and Tails. Who am I not to ruin the tradition?

Mount Lycabettus provides the best views. A cable car can take you to the top for four euros or you can enjoy your hiking through the forest and stairclimbing for free.
Damn. I came here an hour before sunset and all of the best seats were already taken!

There are no skyscrapers or towers in Athens.
This hill is the only spot that lets you appreciate the full panorama of the city from above.
When you look at the sun setting over one of the eldest cities in the world...
Athens are over 5,000 years old.
When I see Acropolis matched with that city view, all I can say is… read my lips – unparalleled!

Today the tourists are saying goodbye to the sun. Thousands of years ago, ancient Greeks were bidding
farewells to the god of sun Helios. He graced them with the last warm rays and went to sleep.
The accommodation in Athens is low-priced in comparison with other European capitals because of the crisis.
You can easily find a decent hostel downtown for a moderate amount of money. Here's an advise – stay at the newest one.
Brand-new mattresses, there is an outlet for your chargers and a personal light.
Can I put my bag in? Of course! The A/C is new and clean. Looks great to me. Clean, neat and stylish.
The best part is that you can tell that it is new right away.

Everywhere in the world markets have the cheapest food. Do not be shocked by where I will eat breakfast.
There is an abundance of seafood, because multiple seas surround Greece.
Any fish you can think of, shrimp, clams, octopus!
So huge! I do not even know what that enormous fish is!
You will not find crucian or silver carp here, but they sell lauraki, tsinoupas and the fan favorite – lakspakia!

Not surprising that the market food is cheaper and fresher than in a supermarket.

It turns out that they do not cook fish here, but I know a delicacy that does not require preparation.
Here it is! It's the oysters!
You eat them raw as soon as you open the shell.
Opening an oyster is tricky. You need a special knife.
Market vendor will gladly take it out for you. I have not tried an oyster in my 34 years of living.
That is the beauty of the market! They provide great service!
As far as I know, there can be two types of reaction. Either you go wow! Or you are never having this again.
I am really excited! I honestly never tasted oysters! That moment has come! Let's go!

The consistency reminds me of fish's soft roe, but it tastes a lot more exquisite.

Head to the market if you want to eat breakfast oysters for less and enjoy the company of the locals.
People are so open! They gave me lemons, poured a drink, opened the shells and served them to me! No restaurant can give you that kind of love.
The next stop of my cruise is Cephalonia Island. It is jam packed with tourist attractions!
The sea will have to forgive me. I am hopping ashore.
Having a private yacht is awesome, but most of the landmarks are located on the ground!
It would be tough getting to them on a yacht, so I will use the help of my little buddy here.
His name is Babycakes.
Nature created a unique wonder on Cephalonia – Lake Melissani.
Let us get comfortable. Our lovely tour is about to begin.
This place is magical!
There is a window between the cliffs that are hanging over you.
Make sure you visit here at noon. The sunrays hit the water giving it aquamarine color.
Look how pretty it is.
Once you have looked around, it is interesting to find out how this place appeared.
Water from the Ionic Sea found its way to this cozy cave underground and formed this marvelous lake.
This cave used to have a roof, but it collapsed after an earthquake and created this grotto.
Here is a fun fact – should you come here like any other tourist you will be crammed on a boat with a bunch of people for a measly 15-minute ride.
Here is a valuable piece of info for my fellow travelers – Athens is a very convenient city.
You can walk around here for a day and hop on a ferry the next morning.
It will take you to any of the neighboring islands. You are wrong if you think that this will cost a ton of money.
Getting to the far islands is very pricey. I can only afford to visit the nearby ones.
I decided to go to an incredible tiny Moni Island. It is populated exclusively by peacocks and deer!
No ferry provides a direct route there so I will have to take a boat from Aegina Island.
One ticket is eight euros, but if you purchase a pair, they cost thirteen. I just saved three euros! I'll take two!
Besides Melissani, nature created another miracle on Cephalonia.

That cave is impressive!
A place like this could not exist without a legend. Ancient Greeks believed that this cave used to be a dragon's lair. Hence the name – The Cave of the Dragon.

Perhaps a dragon did live here someday, but he was not home when I stopped by.
You might be surprised to hear that this cave serves as a venue for classical music concerts.
Luciano Pavarotti and Maria Callas were among those who graced this stage.
There is no concert scheduled for today, so it is my duty as a host to make the concert happen myself!

I arrived at my first destination after just a two-hour journey.
Aegina Island looks like dozens of other Greek islands – peaceful, quiet and a bit boring.
I will not stay here for long and will be on my way to hang out with deer and peacocks.
First, I need to take a bus to the village of Perdika.
A small route boat there takes tourists to Moni Island for five euros.
While I will be on my way, look what else Nastya found on Cephalonia.
A very unusual way to have fun is gaining popularity in Greece – coasteering.
We shall find out what it is right away.
Coasteering is crossing a rocky coastline trail.
An instructor has a dozen of dangerous tests in store for you.
Jumping off the cliff into the sea is the first one.
I remember smashing my thighs in Jamaica. My thigh is all bruised up.
I fear jumping from three meters even, but I'm a soldier, so let's go!
That was scary!
After that you need to swim.
Then climb the slippery rocks with your clothes all wet.
The rocks are very slimy. I have to be super careful!
Tight crevasses and sharp rocks.
Then you have to climb uphill.
There rocks are as sharp as blades.

and dive into icy water again.

It is dark in there! Just when you think that the worst is behind you, an instructor makes you swim under a cliff into complete darkness!

A claustrophobic person would have a hard time here.

Do you see the black dots at the bottom? I was not aware of a new hazard when I jumped – hundreds of sea urchins underwater.
Should you step on one of them you would need to rush to the hospital immediately!
Nonetheless, this was so awesome! Coasteering is one of the best athletic activities imaginable.
The creation of humans and nature lets you experience a range of emotions from fear to elation.
You marvel at the scenery, jump off the cliffs and run.
This is the best mix of physical activity! I am ecstatic! Make sure you give it a try!

Peacocks and deer are so used to tourists that they eat out of a palm and more.
