we are going to talk about Bangladesh army
and its military ranking and equipments
and we will talk about Bangladesh forces goal in 2030

friends for any country human resources natural resources and Technology play an important role
for country's development and defence
when we talk about Bangladesh population it has 16 crore of population and ranks 8th
and Bangladesh has 37 million of Manpower and 33 lakh people come to military age every year
and this is a big number
when we talk about Bangladesh natural resources it has 137000 sq km of land area
and ranks 95th
Bangladesh has 28 million barrel proven oil reserve
and everyday it produces 4000 of oil barrels
but consumes 1.2 lakh barrel per day
from this we can know that how much Bangladesh is dependent on oil import
when we talk about technology Bangladesh is very behind in this
and maximum it imports its military equipments from big countries like China USA UK Turkey Russia
Bangladesh has 580 km of coastline
and its border length is 4413 km
from that it shares 4100 km of its border length with India
and after that comes Myanmar China Nepal and Bhutan
by the way from March 1971 Bangladesh army is operating
but on 21st November 1971 it was officially declared
friends in United Nation peace keeping mission Bangladesh played an important role
in 1988 Iraq Iran war Armisies time Bangladesh sent it forces for peacekeeping for United Nations for the first time
and after that in different peacekeeping missions Bangladesh army is involved
not only this in 2017 Bangladesh sent 7246 military personnel's
for different peacekeeping missions of United States
and they are involved in 10 missions around the world
and now in 2018 Bangladesh is the 2nd largest contributor in peacekeeping mission
after india
and UN has appreciated Bangladesh 30 years support of peacekeeping
but Bangladesh has to pay huge amount for this
130 military personnel have sucided and 84 were of Bangladesh Armies
and others were involved in other institutions
and now total Bangladesh Army personnel is 2.25 lakh
out of is 1.6 lac are active and 65000 are reserve personnel
and 2018 military budget was 3.45 billion dollars
and this is 6.3% of total budget
and 1.3 % of GDP
friend Bangladesh armed forces are divided in three parts
they are Bangladesh Army Bangladesh air force Bangladesh Navy forces
and Bangladesh army and Airforce headquarter is in Dhaka's cantonment
and Navy headquarters is in Banani Model Town Dhaka
and three of them have three different Chief of staff
before Bangladesh chief of Army staff was Abu Bilal Mohammad Shafi Ul haq
and in June 2018 general abdul Aziz became new army cheif
the navy's Chief of staff of Bangladesh is Admiral Mohammad Nizamuddin Ahmed
while the Chief of Air Staff is masiuzzama serniabaat
and the head of the army is the President and the current President is Abdul Hamid
the current Bangladesh military has 534 combat tanks, 942 armoured fighting vehicles,
32 rocket projectors and 18 self propelled artillery
there is no towed artillery till now
the type 50g tanks are more in number which is 180
the next is type 59 tanks which are 60
both of them are Main Battle Tanks and are of Chinese origin
currently Bangladesh Navy has 89 total assets out of which 30 are patrol crafts
Bangladesh has 18 serviceable airports
while the Bangladesh air force has 173 aircraft
there are a total of 64 helicopters
but there is no attack helicopter, so the Bangladesh government is willing to buy MI 35 helicopter from russia
soon we can see a deal between Russia and Bangladesh
let us now see how powerful is Bangladesh military
and how can it defend itself
and for this we will see the Global fire index report
and for this we will see the Global firepower report
and it also published to the same report in 2018
under the name of Global firepower index 2018
the country which scores 0.0000 is the best and perfect according to this report
but no country can score this due to the toughness of the algorithm of global firepower index
the score given to Bangladesh is 0.9 133
and the military rank is 56
from this we can understand that Bangladesh military is neither too weak nor too strong
but the government needs to work on the Bangladesh military
if we talk about Pakistan, Pakistan has got 0.3619 score and its military is ranked at 17th
India has got 0.1417 score and is ranked 4
and the world's most powerful country United States the rank 1
and a score of 0.0818
from this we can say that Bangladesh needs to improve its score
and for this Bangladesh has to work on its military equipment,increase army capacity, military skills manpower etc
and Bangladesh government has already started working on this
Bangladesh have already set their goals and given the name as BD forces Goal 2030
this means by 2030 Bangladesh wants to completely modernize its Army
increase the Bangladesh Army capacity, improve the skills of the military
along with this the government has targeted to build their own defense industries
these goals were set in 2009 but in 2017 by government again redesigned it
not only Bangladesh Army but also Bangladesh Navy and Bangladesh air force will be modernized and armed forces skills will be developed
along with this the government also has planned to build defense industrial complex
for this the Government of Bangladesh is buying many equipment for their armed forces
44 units of MTB 200 main battle tanks are bought from china in 2011
FM-90 surface to air missile system was also bough
and 36 WS22 MRLS was also bought
2 submarines and 6 helicopters were also bought
notifications are out to buy many other weapons
like anti tank weapons, man made air defense system
and much more
new infantry divisions are added to improve bangladesh army's strength
17th infantry division is added in sylhet
10th in cox's bazar
and 7th infantry division in patuakhali
now Bangladesh has 10 total infantry divisions
Bangladesh's airforce is also being modernized rapidly
and to improve airforce it is divided into two parts
southern command airforce and northern command airforce
and airbase is under construction in Barisal, which will be under southern command
many aircrafts, anti air crafts, attack helicopeters are being bought by Bangladesh to improve Airforce Strength
Naval Base of Bangladesh is also getting improved
Bangladesh's largest naval base is under construction called as sher e bangla naval base
and it is in patuakhali
another naval base is under construction by name BNS sheik mujeeb
which is in Dhaka
many other equipments are being bought for bangladesh's armed forces
like night vision goggles, ballistic helmets, bullet proof vests and eye protection gears
and the govt is spending billions of dollars to modernize the Military of Bangladesh
