We are going to tell you about five weird memorials you can see in Washington DC.

Hi. My name is Carolyn.
I'm with DC Design Tours. DC Design Tours offers walking tours of Washington DC with a focus on
architecture and design. If you want to learn more about DC design tours
feel free to visit our website at www.dcdesigntours.com
And we are going to tell you about five weird memorials that you can see
when you visit
including a few that you can see on your tours. If you live in or been to DC before and seen any of these weird
memorials, leave a comment on this video and let us know what you thought about them.
Otherwise, let's get started... 1. the temperance fountain.
It was designed to encourage people to drink water instead of alcohol.
So the temperance fountain was built in 1882 by a very strange character, a guy named Henry Cogswell
who was very much anti alcohol. He considered it his mission to
hydrate the masses by building water fountains in seedy neighborhoods across the United States. Henry Cogswell had made his money as a dentist working out
in California during the gold rush.
Cogswell funded over 20 different fountains all across the country and one of them he built right here in Washington DC, in a neighborhood that
was then called Murder Bay. Today we know Pennsylvania Avenue, the street that inaugurations, protests, and all kinds of other important events happen
but at that time it was really slummy. Henry Cogswell designed the fountain to be placed right in the middle of the worst possible
neighborhood of the city and he had fresh water flowing from the mouths of two sculpted fish. Beneath
the fish was what they called a common cup, not a sense of Hygiene in those days.
The common cup was used by everyone. It hung from a chain
and that's how you drank your water. The vast majority of these temperance fountains have been removed.
The communities generally hated them both for their philosophy and also for their design.
There's only a few left and one of them thankfully is in Washington DC right across the street from the National Archives.
So when you're going to the Capitol to do your Capitol tour or your exploring the museums on the National Mall, you can stop by
the temperance fountain and check out this weird one.
The next weird one is the Titanic Memorial.
Anyone who is a big fan of the Leonardo DiCaprio movie will definitely want to come and check this one out.
The Titanic Memorial is located now down by the newly developed Wharf but it wasn't actually always there.
Originally when the statue was commissioned in 1930
it was placed on the river right near where the Kennedy Center is today. To design the memorial, just like a lot of the other
monuments and memorials in Washington DC
they held a design contest and the designer who won was named Gertrude Vanderbilt.
If you recognize that last name, Vanderbilt
it's because the Vanderbilts are one of the most famous and wealthy families in the United States. The base of the memorial is designed by
Henry Bacon who we know best for being the designer of the Lincoln Memorial. The sculpture depicts a 13-foot man with his arms outstretched
gazing out to the water almost like a ship's mast.
And while I don't think it's necessarily worth going out of your way to see
this one, it's definitely worth checking out the Wharf which is a really cool newly developed area of the city and while you're over there
come see the Titanic memorial.
Number three is a monument that is a replica of one that you probably have seen if you visited Philadelphia.
The Freedom Bell is actually a replica of the Liberty Bell and it's located just to the north of the Capitol near Union Station.
The Freedom Bell was commissioned by the American Legion in 1975 to celebrate the bicentennial of the United States.
The Bell is a copy of the Liberty Bell, which hangs in Philadelphia,
which is famous for having its big crack and being rung at one of the first public readings of the Declaration of Independence in
1775. After the bicentennial celebration the Freedom Bell was actually put into storage and it wasn't brought out until more recently.
So even though millions of people have traveled through Union Station over the years
a lot of them have actually walked right past the Freedom Bell.
So if you're arriving by train, car or bus
make sure you stop and check this out on your way in.
4. the Jefferson pier.
This is a very very small memorial that is literally
overshadowed by a much larger memorial, the Washington Monument.
So when Thomas Jefferson was president of the United States and overseeing some of the layout of Washington, DC
he actually wanted to realign the prime meridian of the entire world to go right through Washington.
The Jefferson Meridian was laid out at the intersection of a right triangle formed by the White House the Capitol building and
Pennsylvania Avenue. The Washington Monument was actually supposed to be built in that spot, but when they started construction
they were nervous about the soil conditions, so they shifted the Washington Monument over to the east and hope nobody would notice.
That's actually why the monument is a little bit out of line between the White House the Capitol and the Jefferson Memorial. The pier actually
disappeared for a time, eventually was re-erected and today's stands as a tiny little monument more to the ego of Thomas Jefferson than anything else.
So even though it's not one that I will typically point out on my tours
it is one that I will show you if you complain about the fact that the Washington Monument, Capitol,
White House, and Lincoln Memorial are not in a perfect line.
5. the Joan of Arc statue.
This one has the unique distinction of being the only female equestrian statue in the entire city.
Joan of Arc was actually a peasant girl from eastern France who claimed divine
inspiration in fighting against the British in the Hundred Years War.
She was only 19 years old and she was finally captured and burned at the stake.
In 1920 the Society of French women of New York donated the statue to be displayed in Meridian Hill Park
which is where it is today.
It's meant to be a symbol of friendship between the women of France and the women of the United States.
One other bizarre fact about the statue is that Joan of Arc's sword has unfortunately been stolen multiple times.
The original sword was stolen in 1978 and was only replaced in 2011.
Unfortunately on our last Columbia Heights and Adams Morgan walking tour, it turns out that she is once again missing her sword, so
who knows when it will come back.
And this one compared to some of the others is a little bit off the beaten path.
So make sure you check out where it is on Google Maps or sign up for Carolyn's walking tour of that area to make sure
you see it. And that's it!
Thank you for watching this video and thank you Carolyn for coming on to share some of your knowledge of these weird memorials.

For Sale By Owner - 4 Tips - Duration: 7:55.
Hi everyone. This is your Tampa Bay
Realtor Lance Mohr and in this video
I'm going to go over 4 For Sale By Owner
Tips or really more like For Sale By
Owner questions that I've got over
the last month so I understand a lot of
you out there saying oh well you're a
real estate agent of course you're gonna
be jaded and you know you're gonna give
your opinion and everybody should use
real estate agents and I'm not saying
you're saying that but I know a lot of
you might be saying that and that's not
really true and I say that because at
the end of the day 99.9 of you watching
me right now on YouTube are not even in
my area so I just want to answer these
questions and if you have any questions
feel free to leave them in the comments
or reach out to me but let me go and
I'll start off with the first one we are
selling our home on our own and having a
buyer show up with an agent how can we
avoid paying their fees don't pay their
fees
you never said you're gonna pay for fees
so it's pretty much that simple I don't
really understand why a real estate
agent would show up with a buyer to
someone who's trying to sell their home
themselves because they should know
right up front that they don't want to
pay fees now a lot of people who are
doing for sale by owner will pay a fee
to the real estate agent because at the
end of the day you know you have the
price which is the fee and then you have
the cost how much money you're really
making so does it really make a
difference so but you don't have to if I
show a for sale by owner and I really
don't show for sale by owner so you just
never do but if I did I would always
call the for sale by owner and say hey I
have a client they want to take a look
at your property will you pay your real
estate agent Commission if you will how
much I determine if I want to work
whether or not so don't feel obligated
that you have to pay the real estate
agent a fee they should know better
alright so how can I sell my home online
without a real estate Commission well of
course you could do that now
pretty much in any MOS you're gonna have
to pay some Commission whatever that
Commission is whether you paying 3% or
2% or 1% or whatever it is if you're
going to go in the
MOS because most MOS is out there and I
want to pretty much say all but I'm not
gonna speak for every single MLS in all
50 states and up in Canada but they
pretty much have something that you have
to pay the realtor and there are other
avenues you could you know you could put
in an online third-party websites to the
MOS you could put it in the newspaper
you could you know run in on other
different websites so you don't
necessarily have to pay a commission the
next one do buyers pay realtor fees
generally no that's the beauty about
being a buyer they can a matter of fact
I've had situations before where earlier
in my career where I've had a buyer and
they wanted to buy a for sale by owner
at least look at a for sale by owner I
can't say they want to buy it but they
wanted to look at a for sale by owner
and I called the I called the person who
is selling the home they said no I'm not
working with Realtors I'm not paying a
commission and so I told the buyer you
want me to represent you if you want me
to work with you on this aspect you're
gonna need to pay a commission now a lot
of buyers do sign buyers agreement so
they're gonna pay a commission whether
you know it's a for sale by owner or not
but they generally don't want to pay a
commission to a reorder that's the
beauty about being a buyer but they can
at the end of the day the next one is
can reorder sell their own homes by
owner well yes why not I mean it's sort
of funny because looking at it the way I
look at is a real estate agent I'm
really no different than you I have the
option to either list my home and do for
sale by owner not putting in the MOS and
not pay a real estate agent or put it in
the MLS and pay no fee to a real estate
agent I mean there's a multitude of
different ways now
I've had property up in Jacksonville I
live in camp I had several properties at
the Jacksonville and I wanted to get him
sold well I actually could have put him
on the MLS in Jacksonville for a $25 fee
and I would have had to pay $25 and then
I would have had to pay whatever I'm
gonna pay to the sowing side who's
representing the buyer but I elected to
go to through a real estate agent and
the reason why I wanted to
through a real estate agent and I know
there's a big difference between a good
agent and a not-so-good agent and I'm
not saying myself but I just wasn't up
in in Jacksonville to do this so I
didn't think I was the best person I
felt like the Commission I would pay
this agent would be more than fair for
their work and I would yield more money
that's why ultimately I did it because
at the end of the day a lot of times
people think oh well you're a real
estate agent you only have to pay half
the Commission because you only have to
pay the selling side you don't have to
pay the listing site that's actually not
true and the reason is I don't pay
myself money but when you start working
for a living
time is money and my time is very
valuable and if I didn't think that way
if my time wasn't very valuable or if I
just thought all real estate agents were
the same then I would just take a
brand-new agent in my office I would
under pay them to list my home and Lord
knows we have 350 agents in my office I
could find several to do this to list my
home and then I would have them handle
everything because it would behoove me
to do that but I understand the way I do
marking in the way I do things it's
gonna be who me to do what I do because
I'm going to get more money so you you
know hopefully you understand again at
the end of the day and I'll just say
something a lot of times for sale by
owners get caught up and they say well
I'm not gonna pay a real estate agent
any money I'm not gonna pay their
commission if I am doing for sale by
owner my question would be why not
what's the difference if you're worried
about the cost just budget in there and
if you're not then don't but I would
just I would use a real estate agent but
I don't think many agents like shown for
sale by owners I think it's a lot of
work for him and sometimes you go over
and you say well the buyers are out
there well I've talked to buyer so we're
looking at for sale by owners the reason
why they look is because they're really
doing all the work what's the for sale
by owner doing they're basically holding
an open house you know on Sunday or and
they're putting it on in different
magazines or wherever they're putting
them on why and people are coming over
well it's the buyers that are going from
house
to house to house to house but most
buyers don't like to do that they want
to use a real estate agent they get
represented and hopefully they find an
agent that knows what the heck they're
doing and they use them if you want to
get more tips I'm selling a home I'm
gonna put my video video playlists up
here for sellers I would highly
recommend you watch the playlist the
videos on the playlist they'll probably
give you a lot of really good ideas
selling home by yourself or if you can
hire a real estate agent so I hope these
tips help you I hope this information
helped you if you have any questions is
leaving in the comments below I wish you
the best of luck because at the end of
the day we're all in this together it's
you know people tell me all the time hey
Lance I'm gonna do for Sale By Owner
first great do it hey if you could save
money if you can make money whatever it
is do what you need to do no skin off my
back I mean I have plenty of clients
sellers and buyers do whatever's best
for you and your family so I'd say the
same thing to you do whatever you think
is best for you and your family put some
thought into it and come up with a wise
decision that will benefit you I wish
you the best of luck and have a
wonderful day and if you decide to go
for a Sale By Owner go talk to you
you

Living in Lima, Peru | Behind the scenes our life in Lima vlog - Duration: 21:38.
well good morning good morning good
morning greetings from Lima Peru yes
they're actually wrapping up this trip
it is our last day here sure we thought
we would try something new so over the
past month or so we've been filming
little snippets yeah what we get up to
kind of like our life and Lima yeah
exactly basically yeah exactly our life
and Lima behind the scenes have been
showing me like dinners and when we've
gone out to do errands and just yeah all
kinds of just basically the most random
things you can imagine yeah we wanted to
share moments but like sometimes it
doesn't really make sense to film a
whole vlog about an activity those
because it's simple and this is just a
collection we've been building up ever
since we've arrived in Lima and yeah
that's it so let's roll it let's roll
the footage what are we doing manicure
and pedicure time choosing my color
distress even I'm getting one
and and I chew
the last time I came here I got my very
first ever it was a pedicure right I had
wounds on my feet they said I had the
nastiest feet now I have worse yeah well
I'm kind of proud of that I mean you
don't get first place I don't get first
place in a lot of things so I'll
celebrate so my toes are done
my hands are done Sam is getting the
full treatment you've got two people
working on you that's some serious
business it's like other the same coming
down around so we've just been told
you're going to require some exfoliation
on your feet get there they're pretty
bad shape Sam's getting treated Sam is
getting pampered I didn't even have this
many people working on me here he comes
the man of the hour the holy man are you
gonna show us your hands and feet let's
see you know your fingers okay thank you
describe it is wool okay my fingers feel
clean but my toes feel like they can't
breathe they can really feel like they
can breathe yeah I feel like they shaved
off sometimes deads yes they did we are
breathing like
like these breeziness describe it aside
from that and you also got some
exfoliation and moisturizing treatment
yeah so I'm in tip-top shape let's hope
it lasts for a while yeah well we've got
some time here we can always come back
alright Sam getting your daily exercise
today your daily exercise we've normally
been going for longer walks but yeah
this is the shorter one
I'm visiting larcomar yeah it is
basically a shopping mall hanging off of
a cliff here it's pretty cool yeah the
views are just stunning and there's like
the waves are fierce today they're
really strongly so yeah we're just gonna
walk around I'm thinking of maybe
getting some alfajores for your dad how
about oh no yes and we're just going for
a nice walk it's sunny today so what I'm
actually burning I totally forgot about
sunblock why if you didn't put it on any
on I didn't either I'm gonna be a
lobster the lobster and Audrey's rocking
the Mennonite look today show us show us
a chorus of bad
so we're trying we're looking to get
your data box of the Blanco ones
yeah is permitting game merengue and
they have the delicious course yeah
hopefully they have them they have the
mixed Oh boxes yeah that's huge we're
looking to just get a pack of six yeah
ten bucks trying to be healthy here and
not go overboard today we are having
breakfast as a family at Manolos Sam
would you like to tell us everything you
ordered I sure would so I'm getting two
kinds of churros here yeah the first one
is filled with Manhart Blanco which is
like the sweet of the milk yeah and then
over here I have the plain churros they
have a dusting of sugar on top and
Spanish hot chocolate hot chocolate
espanol and it's very thick very
delicious
this is bonus round footage guys so in
this round are going to apparently the
coffee shop where your cousin Luciana it
used to work
yeah I'm gonna get a really nice coffee
and then we're going to a really
colorful area called bun ankle uh-huh
here two years ago we really liked that
neighborhood yeah
slop Friday now we're gonna see if by
night all right let's hop in the car hop
in the car and we go and we go this is
to what's too heavy
what's to yeah you are where we know
post sushi sushi yeah the the coffee
shop that we wanted to go to is closed
but happy to be back in Barranca though
so check it out
so what did you get
show-and-tell oh you can't oh we
shouldn't open it oh my mother-in-law
wanted enough CENTAC peruvian wallet and
brown leather yeah but she's stuck with
purple leather that's really nice and
lots of space wow that's really nice
mm-hmm
only 45 so this was long turned out to
be 18 Canadian dollars yeah it's pretty
good price but hopefully she doesn't
watch this video and there's another
part exactly it was really expensive
very expensive we're passing on the
coffee we didn't find the local one we
wanted but there's a Starbucks so four
of them are getting it Peruvian you're
in the heart of not anyways it was
really fun I'm still digesting that
sushi my belly my belly is so extended I
think after this going to bed
so we're having an awesome Easter feast
with family everything's been prepared
so give us a to vote we got on the table
today it is Brazilian / Peruvian food so
we have the feijoada yeah which is like
black beans with lots of different cuts
of meat give us they're going to eat
this with white rice yeah we're here and
fight over from mm-hmm just put that on
did you we've been warned not to choke
on morning and then we have ceviche lots
of different types of meat so mixed
ceviche aji de Gallina
yeah and chocolate giant corn can't eat
that come with it yeah we've got a big
okay I was like America
what's on your plate there I got a bit
of everything but ceviche fresh water
the multi which is like sweet potato and
this is one of my favorites and I won't
try there you go you know do you have a
favorite Peruvian or Brazilian tough
question right here
I probably you know and I would also go
with the ceviche Caribbean number one of
course
so what's for lunch today Audrey what's
and that's pervy in Chinese food
exciting times
see for me a little bit of a food tour
here's what is cheaper Shiva is Chinese
Peruvian food yes he is so good
check out that plate yeah half of this
is just chicken this is like breaded
chicken this looks like honey please no
sorry lemon chicken
yeah then we have chicken with
vegetables half fried wontons
yeah fried wontons fried rice shrimp
peas chicken with pineapple so the theme
is definitely chicken I'm gonna try some
of the rice with shrimps oh yeah it's
grandma's birthday today and she wanted
cheaper yeah I think it's a great idea
we all like it so eating a good let's
enjoy you have lots of cake in the
fridge that's coming up yeah we're gonna
we've got our work cut out for us I've
got a lot of food to eat which is a good
problem to have thought that the CD
Malda sim do you know all the
ingredients in the long history Moya
tropical tropical fruit with fleshy
white meat what do you think yeah it's
definitely fleshy and then it's been
mixed in with some man heart Blanco
which gives it that kind of caramel
color
yeah then we also have whipping cream
yes and meringue ring and you know what
I learned what apparently this cake is
just made with eggs and corn starch
that's why it's so fluffy so fluffy
flower that's so fluffing it just
absorbs all the angry you want to turn
it around so we can see beautiful slice
of cake oh my thank you delicious
so Anthony and I were tasked with
getting desserts and we've come back
with quite a few this is chocolate a
condiment heart Blanco which is a
chocolate and basically like caramel
dulce de leche kind of cake and then
over here we have an assortment of other
cakes just in case anyone else doesn't
like that one well I certainly like this
one and look even has a chariot a
chariot on top choo-choo choo-choo
choo-choo so we're now upstairs on the
pentose another incredible sunset this
doesn't get old at all I know beautiful
colors pastels the ocean there's a lot
of different cakes that she's from but
I'm definitely going for the chocolate a
common man art Blanco I know that's a
good one that's the king of cakes also
do you want to show us your new shirt oh
you gonna do a little loop-de-loop
you're a neon whale now my wardrobe is
expanded I know what's needed either all
right let's say bye to that sunrise
sunrise sunset sunset I'm going take a
slice of cake for Grandma oh that is
three layers it's somewhere
how do you feel about going to the
dentist today here neither of us love it
but obviously something yes and what's
been really nice is this just a second
or third time you've done with MIMO
there's a really good dentist here will
let you know at the end yes I guess I
was just thinking over the last five
years we've better clean either in chain
wine or Lima you really beat that mr.
president in both cities and the price
is very reasonable so we'll let you know
once it's over this is the dentist's
office it's set in a home on the ground
level
also the dentist I just went to is
located right by a major tourist
attraction here in Lima
that's a worker so we're giving you guys
an update yesterday our our cleanings
basically cost about sixty two US
dollars just over sixty dollars so I
wasn't even thinking about the price
because I know no there had four wisdom
teeth pulled out today then you're here
to do that feeling a little nervous
I didn't do all four in one sitting
that's yeah that is the plan
and yeah just update you guys on the
price that's gonna cost about 800 us
though is about $200 per tooth so it's
an expensive day for us but I hope it
goes well for you and that you can relax
a little bit a little bit well look who
just got back home how you feeling I did
are you feeling you know what you look a
lot less chipmunky than I thought you
would you don't have a swollen of cheeks
your cheeks aren't as full and as I
thought they would be
you just feel drowsy huh yeah growing up
well it's good we got it done when we
did because you know we you've been like
we've been putting this off for a few
years so I've been putting it off since
I was a teenager so I had to get two
shots in the butt yeah yeah you're gonna
have a pretty easy day the rest of the
day we're just gonna get we're gonna I'm
gonna go get you some ice cream and
you're gonna lay down on the couch
that's the plan guys this is absolutely
crazy this is back-to-back days of this
like sheer white blanket of fog like at
the moment normally I've shown you guys
fuse and you can see the bridge you can
see a little bit off into the distance
into the coast but like the camera can't
even focus
wow it's time for a lemur life update
and how are you chubby little chipmunk
cheeks doing today it is day four since
the surgery yeah yeah you do like I'm
like black and purple deep well it was
your it was your end that first noticed
it this morning I know I then they've
been turning black during the tea so I
would say your peak swelling occurred
probably on day three and day four I
think the swelling's gone down a bit but
the bruising is is there yeah you're
like I can't really open my mouth a lot
I still can't shoot like no I'm having
very soft foods yeah anyways it's been
like four days of doing nothing so today
we're filming a video regardless I know
we're kidding what like what's it called
cabinet fear especially for me it hurts
a lot but yes we're heading out and guys
check this out normally it's by this
time of day it's sunny but it is foggy
and it said that it's gonna rain today
oh yeah what your aunt your aunt had a
funny replied it for that oh yeah it's
scheduled to ring we check the forecast
and she was like Audrey you know what
the rain is like over here it looks like
somebody's me yeah exactly
never get rain here so rare to this Lima
has one of the most fascinating
microclimate look these people playing
tennis down here yeah it's basically you
get it's like Groundhog Day you get the
same temperature and you almost get the
same weather every day
you usually fog in the morning and then
it lifts by around the afternoon and
then you have a beautiful sunset that is
a typical lima day yes that's the lima
update
hmm so we've been shooting a little week
in the life vlog but really it's been
more like two or three weeks I feel like
since we started filming just for like a
month in the life almost a month in the
life but it's basically it's been really
fun just yeah thinking of different ways
we can like showcase what we've been
doing here in Lima we've had such a good
time it's the city that we keep coming
back again and again I mean you have
your relatives here but it's also just a
place that feels very familiar I think
it's one of only a handful of cities in
this world that we've travelled to that
actually kind of feel a little bit like
home maybe Chiang Mai here maybe Buenos
Aires a couple other places Seoul and
yeah it's just been so much fun coming
back this is our last night sir last
night yes we've been here for almost a
month
and we are headed back to Toronto where
we hope the weather is more spring-like
yeah but we hope you guys enjoyed
following along I hope you've been
enjoying the food videos we've certainly
been enjoying the food
and we'll never run out of food videos
to film unless I know very soon I'm sure
sooner rather than later so see you guys
you

Europa Universalis: Rome - Macedonian Imperium - PART 10 - Nat Plays - Duration: 30:00.
Hello once again everyone and welcome back.
We've been given quite an opportunity here, and as you can see I easily pounced upon it.
Having Pontus in a civil war like this is an excellent opportunity for us to grab this
whole area here.
Maybe even up here except for the King's land but that's an extended plan.
But definitely planning to take this side of our sea.
No longer shall we be surrounded on this side.
We shall have a coastline.
Let's begin.

Do you remember the amazing pix2pix algorithm from last year?
It was able to perform image translation, which means that it could take a daytime image
and translate it into a nighttime image, create maps from satellite images, or create photorealistic
shoes from a crude drawing.
I remember that I almost fell off the chair when I've first seen the results.
But this new algorithm takes it up a notch, and transforms these edge maps into human
faces, not only that, but it also animates them in time.
As you see here, it also takes into consideration the fact that the same edges may result in
many different faces, and therefore it is also willing to gives us more of these options.
If I fell out of the chair for the still image version, I don't really know what the appropriate
reaction would be to this.
It can also take a crude map of labels, where each color corresponds to one object class,
such as roads, cars or buildings, and it follows how our labels evolve in time and creates
an animation out of it.
We can also change the meaning of our labels easily, for instance, in the lower left, you
see how the buildings are now suddenly transformed to trees.
Or, we can also change the trees to become buildings.
Do you remember motion transfer from a couple videos ago?
It can do a similar variant of that too, and even synthesizes the shadows around the character
in a reasonably correct manner.
As you see, the temporal coherence of this technique is second to none, which means that
it remembers what it did with past images and doesn't do anything drastically different
for the next frame, and therefore generates smoother videos.
This is very apparent, especially when juxtaposed with the previous pix2pix method.
So, how is this achieved?
There are three key differences from the previous technique to achieve this:
One, the original architecture uses a generator neural network to create images, where there
is also a separate discriminator network that judges its work and teaches it to do better.
Instead, this work uses two discriminator neural networks, one checks whether the images
look good one by one, and one more discriminator for overlooking whether the sequence of these
images would pass as a video.
This discriminator cracks down on the generator network if it creates sequences that are not
temporally coherent and this is why we have minimal flickering in the output videos.
Fantastic idea.
Two, to ease the training process, it also does it progressively, which means that the
network is first faced with an easier version of the problem that progressively gets harder
over time.
If you have a look at the paper, you will see that the training is both progressive
in terms of space and time.
I love this idea too.
Three, it also uses a flow map that describes the changes that took place since the previous
frame.
Note that this pix2pix algorithm was published in 2017, a little more than a year ago.
I think that is a good taste of the pace of progress in machine learning research.
Up to 2k resolution, 30 seconds of video, and the source code is available.
Congratulations folks, this paper is something else.
Thanks for watching and for your generous support, and I'll see you next time!

Complaining, explaining and your big dreams - Abraham Hicks - Duration: 12:26.
hi Abraham it's so so so wonderful to
see you again before I go about asking
my questions I had a dream last night
that I was here at the workshop and
there was about 10 people myself
included in the room I kid you not our
friends that went before I did they were
in my dream I never saw them before or
anything like that but I just thought
wow I can't believe that the people who
had the chance to talk to you sorry are
you saying to us that the co-operative
components had already been gathered and
that in your dream state and absence of
resistance you were able to translate
that vibration into something that was
meaningful to you and then you lived a
real life experience to confirm that you
were doing that oh yeah oh yeah that
sounds like a good book calling you say
that because I am I'm definitely a
writer here's where I'm at in life right
now so I have these dreams very very
very big dreams and I'm all about
success before you go further we want to
die whew something just a little bit
when someone calls something a very big
dream they stick a little
dissatisfaction in it because it's so
big when you say big you introduce some
resistance because of your ability to
consider odds big therefore it's harder
it's big therefore it's less likely now
maybe you didn't mean it that way but
there's a part of your vibration that
does when your dreams no matter how big
they seem to others to you just seemed
like the next logical step then you've
closed that gap and things are just
unfolding nicely could you feel that
distinction oh yeah yeah and so and so
basically um I'm very very interested in
getting it to modeling because I've
spent a good part of my the last few
years working out and just want to show
off my body in a really nice way I also
want to write books akin to the success
of JK Rowling's Harry Potter I'm very
ambitious person so basically my
question to you well here's our question
to you
okay we understand the gathering of
those intentions our question to you is
do you feel like you're moving toward
being vibrationally up to speed with
them because that's all that's required
yes then our next question to you is are
you a complainer most of the time no I
do catch myself than when I complain but
what we mean is we're asking everybody
this you're not a complainer on things
that are going well but big things do
you ever catch yourself complaining
about your current relationship with the
places that you want to be because
that's the only thing you got to keep an
eye on Jerry used to offer the analogy
to Esther and others years ago that when
he would sit in front of fireplace and
there was a particular spunky log that
was sparking that every now and again a
spark would come out into the room maybe
get on the carpet or on his sweater and
he noticed that he just brushed it right
off no problem at all but if he didn't
notice it was unaware then it could burn
a hole relatively quickly and
complaining burns holes for a couple of
reasons first in the moment of a
complaint you're not satisfied and when
you're not satisfied you're not aligned
and when you're not aligned you don't
have clarity second when you're
complaining Law of Attraction is
responding to your vibration of
complaint which means you're not letting
yourself be a cooperative component so
it's like this you're gonna understand
this and this is an important
distinction these things that you want
to attract to yourself that you've
described that are lovely and underway
your inner being has goddess in other
words there's no dream too big for your
inner being and the leverage of the
universe to accomplish so your inner
beings all over that and the
co-operative components are being
gathered but when you complain even for
a moment you're not a cooperative
component and what happens is one
complaint starts momentum for another
and
because law of attraction doesn't let
anything go law of attraction doesn't
say well as intervenes got it so even
though he's complaining don't respond to
him law of attraction responds to both
aspects of you all the time so it's not
that you need to allow your dreams to
grow they're growing they're just dating
it's becoming it's real it's sure the
question is are you in the vicinity of
it or not and the answer to that
question is depends on how you feel so
the preparation that you've been
inspired to is a wonderful thing but we
want it to have felt good all along the
way if everything you do like I'm
bringing my body into this beautiful
condition so that I can have that if
everything that you do is in order to
not be where you are in order to be
someplace else it's the wrong reason and
it's the wrong vibrational when you pay
a price to get something that price pain
is the equivalent of complaining so you
can't be paying the price you have to be
rump and down the trail of becoming this
is so much fun
there's so many benefits to this but
what happens here this oh we like this
so much going back to the first thing
that we were talking about here today in
your desire to be understood by others
when you become a masterful creator and
fabulous things start happening to you
others don't like you as much because
your success points out to them the
crevice between what they're asking for
and where they are and so you must not
fall to the temptation of trying to
explain to them well I've been working
out four hours every single day and I've
been really paying a price and this has
not been an easy thing to do you get
what we're saying you want to romp
joyously down this trail of unfolding as
you become an ever increasingly
cooperative component to your own dreams
and that's what living happily ever
after is absolutely
absolutely and we don't find you to be a
complainer
we really don't not much just a little
bit everybody complains about some
things complaining is actually the first
step in step one in other words you got
to know what you don't want this is
awful I don't want that that's
complaining just don't stay there
launch the rocket and then pivot toward
the rocket but what happens when you
have dreams that you've been languishing
in for a while because you haven't known
what was keeping them from happening
then as time goes by and you're still
trying to keep those dreams alive more
and more there's complaining going on
and you got to cut it out just ask
yourself am I satisfied or unsatisfied
Esther started to do that hundreds of
times every day she'll be driving she'll
have a thought and she'll say is that
satisfying and if it is she'll just let
it roll on but if it isn't she brushes
it off and the other night she was
watching someone on television and
someone else on television and both of
them were saying someone said well did
it bother you what those people said
about you and he said no I just brush it
off and Esther said yes he just brushes
it off yeah yeah well I think the
complaint is just stems more so from
from frustration don't care don't care
don't care oh we care we just don't want
to be a sounding board for your
complaining and every moment you explain
it to us you are practicing the
vibration of it and holding yourself
apart from what you really want
Esther sometimes in her attempt to
entertain whoever's around her will say
I have not one thing to complain about
doesn't keep me from complaining but I
have not one thing to complain about
because she's wanting to normalize
herself with others stop it Esther I
feel like um Abraham you're reading my
mind because um all the questions and
everything that I have you're answering
them you're just you're hitting you're
hitting the nail your dream invaded this
workshop hours before it happened
yes yes there's a big bright vortex that
we all have access to and the more you
look there the better you feel which
means to a lot of people that say oh
there's this workshop that you can go to
and they'll teach you not to face
reality yeah they'll teach you to look
into this non-physical place and let
that be the basis of how you feel and we
say that's exactly what we do we don't
want you to face reality meaning the
manifested thoughts already turn to
things we want you to create reality
exactly I was just gonna say that too
like you always say don't face reality
create it well we really appreciate the
advanced announcement because you're
reading a really good material to us
absolutely absolutely enough just one
more question I've been doing some
research and working with a therapist on
becoming a more powerful manifester and
I was advised that if I want to receive
the gifts of the universe that I would
need to work with my lower chakras more
so than my higher chakras and I was just
wondering if that basically garbage
well we'll just be really brief about
that that's the opposite of everything
we were just talking about
you've already launched these rockets of
desire and your work is to raise
vibration and there's a human tendency
that believes you got to get to the
bottom of what's holding you back but
you can't get to the bottom of what's
holding you back without activating the
vibration that separates you from any
clarity that we have here to move on so
that's counterproductive to the laws of
the universe as they are and it's spoken
by someone and lots of therapists
believe this that you've got to dig into
the reality that you've already created
in order to understand how you've
created it and we all know because we
understand the law of attraction but
you're more you dig into a reality that
you don't like the more you hold fast to
the reality that you don't like so now
in fairness and awareness of your
vibrational frequencies matters and
awareness that you are allowing your
vibrations to rise matters but you got
to look up Jerry learned that about
Esther years ago as they were driving
they'd be driving down the highway big
monster bus 45 feet long pravo bus on
airbags aerodynamic most wonderful
machine ever invented car towed behind
it Esther's driving Jerry is scared he
got used to it and he'd say oh look at
that barn and Esther would start driving
toward it and he noticed that whatever
he pointed out she's just sort of eerie
in that direction and then he discovered
he only ever pointed out things to her
that were dead ahead
right right down the road if the rainbow
was there look at the rainbow it was
over there he pretended like he didn't
see it because you go where you're
pointed you just do well I am always
pointed on at the highest level of
vibration possible that's where I feel
the best at yeah it is where you feel
the best and you're not always pointed
there and that's okay because you have
some step1 moments but you mostly do
you're doing really really really really
well and we've enjoyed this interaction
a lot we've enjoyed this interaction as
well thank you so much more ham
