Nuclear energy is a type of energy that could destroy anything, if we use it
Today, energy needs in Indonesia is increasing along with economics and industrial's sectors growth
However, the main energy resource in Indonesia still depends on fossil fuels
which is the type of nonrenewable energy and unfriendly to the environment
Based on this problem, the government suggests nuclear energy as one of alternative energy
To substitute the use of fossil fuels in Indonesia
However, indonesian society still havent enough knowledge about nuclear energy
Thus, there are some rumors and myths of nuclear energy that exist in the society

In this video, we will present and explain our survey that we conducted
About some rumors and myths of nuclear energy
Nuclear science start to develop when Sir James Chadwick discovered a neutral particle called neutron
In 1932
Out of this knowledge, in 1939 the fission (i.e. atom can be split) was discovered
After this, nuclear science begins to develop in some applications
One of them is to generate electricity which to be called as nuclear power plant
Based fundamental reaction in nuclear power plant is nuclear fission by neutron, which produce heat energy
Then, said energy is used to boil the water until it turns to be steam
After that, steam will move the turbine generator, and finally will produce electricity
In the past four years, energy used based on nuclear energy is increasing
which can be seen from the growth of nuclear power plant in the world since 2014 to 2017
In 2014, the number of reactors in the world was 439
And this number is continuing to grow until 2017 which reach up to 451
Experts predict electricity consumption in 2020 will increase for about 75%
Indonesia, as a developing country, is predicted will be developed continuously in many sectors
Hence, the energy need must be ensured for Indonesia's sustainability
One of alternative energy to solve the problem is nuclear energy
In 2016, Indonesia's atomic agency (BATAN) found out that for about 77.53%
ndonesia community are agreed to build a nuclear power plant
One of the reason, it's not reach 100%
Because there are some myths and rumors of nuclear energy that exist in Indonesia community
Based on our survey, there are three topics that will be the main focus
In this video about rumors and myths in Indonesian society
Such as poisioned pathways in health, nuclear energy and climate change
And shifting energy to nuclear power
Those survey results will be questioned to some indonesian people directly about their opinions
and will be confirmed and explained by our well-educated source in nuclear related field

I don't know, but as fas as I know it's so dangerous
For what I know, nuclear energy is a type of energy that could destroy anything, if we use it.
Nuclear energy is the biggest one due to its existance in European countries
Energy that produced by the process of physics and chemistry, also need sophisticated technology
What is PLTN (acronym of Nuclear Power Plant in Bahasa)?
PLTN is a Nuclear Power Plant
It means that electricity is come from nuclear energy
Is it a myth or not, if we are exposed to nuclear radiation from nuclear power plant, then we can get cancer, mutation, or even sterile?

So, it will be affecting our reproductve system and it cause our sterility

There's regulation that governing radiation that comes from nuclear power plant
So, it's safe both for the worker and civil society
Actually, all of the things around us it generate radiation such as cellular phone, laptop, or even banana
But, radiation dose from all of those said things is totally safe to be exposed to our body, hence it's safe
If we got exposed by nuclear radiation, and the myths said that it will cause some health issues
As mentioned before, the answer is not true
However, nuclear radiation could potentially harm to us
It depends on specified condition, such as if we got exposed to radiation with high dose in a short time, then it could harm to us
The other condition is when we got exposed to radiation with low dose in a long time, then it could possibly harm to us
And those said conditions could cause some health issues such as cancer or even dead
Is it a myth and rumor or not, if nuclear energy is more environment-friendly than fossil fuels

Fossil fuels is more environment-friendly if we use it wisely

It's a fact because the gas emission from nuclear power plant is lower than other fossil fuel plant

If we use nuclear energy
the production of emission compare with, for example, coal power plant will be lower
Also, the fuel needs in nuclear power plant to generate electricity is less than coal power plant

It's true because the cost of the fuel, infrastructure, and employee are high
It's relative because the investation of nuclear fuel is expensive
But if the electricity output of nuclear power is more cheap, then it's relative
Is it a myth and rumor or not, if nuclear energy can not reduce the use of fossil fuels?
It's a fact because fossil fuels, like oil, is the main fuel for all of the energy pant
It's a myth because, for now, fossil fuels is easier to get and cheaper than nuclear energy
In my opinion, it's a fact because the fossil fuels already left behind. And, in the future we will not use it anymore
Is it a myth or not, if we want to be a country that self-sufficient in energy we should shift to nuclear energy

It's a fact because indonesia has great potential in uranium
It's not true, in my opinion, we should shift to the other based-power plant such as hot steam, water, etc

If we see from the infrastructure, nuclear energy is expensive compared with the other power plant
However, the electricity output from nuclear will produce a lot more if we compare with the other power plant
Also, the fuel needs in nuclear power plant is tend to be more less than the other plants
So, it's true if we consider nuclear power as our self-sufficient energy's source based on the fuel needs
